ANGUS YOUNG Never Had Doubts About AC/DC's Ability To ContinueAC/DC guitarist Angus Young recently spoke to BBC Radio Scotland 's Billy Sloan about the band's long-awaited comeback album, "Power Up", which arrived last November. The follow-up to 2014's "Rock Or Bust" features AC/DC's reunited lineup of Brian Johnson (vocals), Phil Rudd (drums), Cliff Williams (bass), Angus (guitar) and Stevie Young (guitar). Johnson and Williams both left in 2016 for health reasons; and Rudd was sidelined in 2015 with various legal issues.
Asked if he ever thought AC/DC had come to the end, especially when it looked like Johnson, Williams and Rudd weren't returning to the group, Angus responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "No, I never did, because I always knew there would be something to do with AC/DC. For myself, I've been there from the beginning, and I always knew there would be something, whether it'd be — even for your record deal, putting together tracks or other material that you might wanna put out, or live stuff, or even some footage or film[ed performances] and stuff. So I always knew there would be something to do with AC/DC. But as a band, playing live and studio, I can say that was a bit unknown, but I never really thought that [not being able to tour or record new music as AC/DC] would be an ending. 'Cause I always thought, even if this stopped, somebody's still gotta be able to carry the pieces. They're gonna look to someone to pick up the pieces of how it's gonna be looked after."
Angus also talked about the decision for AC/DC to continue touring and recording after the passing of his brother, the band's founding rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young. Malcolm died in 2017 after dementia had forced him to retire from AC/DC. He was also suffering from other health problems.
"That was [Malcolm's] whole way of doing things. He always said you plow along, you keep going," Angus said. "When he was first getting sick, he had a lot of help [on AC/DC's] tour [in support of the] 'Black Ice' [album] — he was on medicines, helping him get through that. But he was still coherent and everything. He was even putting down [new song] ideas then also. Whenever I was with him, he would be always saying, 'We keep going as long as I can do it.' I always took that from him. And even when he was in hospital and stuff with operations, he was the same — he would say, 'I wanna be here. I wanna be with you.' As he said, 'Keep your head down and keep [playing].'"
The legendary hard rockers postponed the last ten dates of their North American tour in 2016 after doctors told Johnson he faced a total loss of hearing if he did not stop touring immediately. He was eventually replaced on the road by GUNS N' ROSES vocalist Axl Rose.
Johnson eventually found a specialist willing to try an experimental treatment on him and he spent three years figuring out a solution.
Rudd was ousted from AC/DC when he was sentenced to eight months of home detention by a New Zealand court in 2015 after pleading guilty to charges of threatening to kill and drug possession.
Rudd, who has appeared on most of AC/DC's studio LPs, toured in support of his 2014 solo debut, "Head Job". It was the release of that album that led indirectly to Rudd's arrest, with the drummer allegedly so angry at a personal assistant over the way the record was promoted that he threatened to have the man and his daughter killed.
Williams recently revealed that a "terrible" bout with vertigo contributed to his 2016 retirement. He also admitted the return of both Johnson and Rudd convinced him to return to the group.
"Power Up" was recorded over a six-week period in August and September 2018 at Warehouse Studios in Vancouver with producer Brendan O'Brien, who also worked on "Black Ice" and "Rock Or Bust".

SCORPIONS Are Still Mixing Their New Studio Album: 'We Can't Wait' To Get It Out, Says KLAUS MEINESCORPIONS are mixing their new album at the legendary Hansa Studios in Berlin, Germany with engineer Michael Ilbert, who has earned multiple Grammy nominations for his mix work with producer Max Martin on albums by Taylor Swift and Katy Perry.
Singer Klaus Meine, who celebrated his 73rd birthday on Tuesday (May 25), offered an update on the new SCORPIONS LP's production progress in a video message posted on the band's social media.
He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "Hi, this is Klaus Meine. Well, it's been a rough ride for anyone out there. What a crazy year. But I do not want to complain. The pandemic gave us a lot of extra time to write new songs and get a whole new album on the way. We're in the mixing process right now, and we can't wait to get the album out for you guys to hear it.
"I'd like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart," he continued. "Thank you for all of the wonderful birthday messages. I tell you, it's really, really touching to feel so close to all of you in almost every corner in the world. Thank you so much for all your love and support in all those years. It's been a long, long journey.
"Because of the pandemic, the Las Vegas residency was, unfortunately, postponed again, and there's absolutely nothing we can do about it. But the good news is Las Vegas is still on, and we're gonna rock Sin City in March next year. So we're looking very much forward to seeing all of you in 2022 someplace sometime somewhere down the road, and I'm sure it will be very emotional. Until then, take good care of yourselves, stay healthy and well and get ready for the sting. We love you."
The German-Polish-Swedish hard rock legends spent the last few months recording their new effort at Peppermint Park Studios in Hannover, Germany. Tentatively due later this year, the disc will mark SCORPIONS' first release since 2017's "Born To Touch Your Feelings - Best Of Rock Ballads", which was an anthology of new and classic material.
SCORPIONS originally intended to record the new album in Los Angeles with producer Greg Fidelman, whose previous credits include SLIPKNOT and METALLICA. However, because of the pandemic, some of the initial work was done with Greg remotely, after which SCORPIONS opted to helm the recordings themselves with the help of their engineer Hans-Martin Buff.
Meine previously told Talking Metal that the goal with using Fidelman to produce the new LP was to bring "the old vibe from albums like 'Blackout', 'Love At First Sting' or even 'Lovedrive'. We try to focus on those albums and this attitude," he said. "If we get there, who knows — it's so many years later. But it's the spirit and it's the whole vibe around this album. This time, the focus is on the harder songs."
According to Meine, SCORPIONS' new LP features "no outside writers at all," unlike 2015's "Return To Forever", which was largely co-written by the album's producers, Mikael Nord Andersson and Martin Hansen.
SCORPIONS' last full-length collection of new recordings was the aforementioned "Return To Forever", partially comprising songs the band had in the vault from the '80s. It was the final recorded appearance of SCORPIONS' longtime drummer James Kottak, who was dismissed from the band in September 2016. He has since been replaced by Mikkey Dee, formerly of MOTÖRHEAD.

Ex-JUDAS PRIEST Guitarist K.K. DOWNING Picks JIMI HENDRIX As His 'Rock God'Former JUDAS PRIEST and current KK'S PRIEST guitarist K.K. Downing was the featured guest on BBC's "The Rock Show With Johnnie Walker" during the "Rock God" segment. Downing picked Jimi Hendrix and stated about his choice: "I first saw Jimi at Coventry Theatre way back in 1967, and what an amazing night that was. I was lucky enough to see Jimi no less than six times, including his two appearances at the Royal Albert Hall [in February 1969]. And yes, I was out there, at the stage door, autograph hunting. I was really lucky — Jimi arrived, and I managed to get his autograph, which was a real treat.
"I absolutely must tell the story about the Isle Of Wight festival where Jimi was performing [in August 1970]. Myself and a friend cunningly worked our way back to the dressing room area, which was outside, but Jimi, Noel and Mitch were in a caravan that they were using for a dressing room. And me and my friend, we hinged the window up and there they were, the three of the [JIMI HENDRIX] EXPERIENCE around a table with a couple of ladies. And myself and my mate, we managed to get a drumstick from Mitch and a Coke bottle that Jimi had just finished drinking a beverage from, and that was a real highlight of my whole life."
He continued: "Jimi could absolutely stir any audience up into a complete frenzy; they would jump from the balconies and they would rush the stage. And I know, because I was one of those fans that did just that."
Widely recognized as one of the most creative musicians of all time, Hendrix's influence with his genre-defying mix of blues, funk, soul jazz and R&B still impacts musicians worldwide today.
Hendrix pioneered the explosive possibilities of the electric guitar. His innovative style of combining fuzz, feedback and controlled distortion created a new musical form and his influence resonates to this day.
Jimi died of a drug overdose on September 18, 1970 at the age of 27.
Hendrix's 1968 album "Electric Ladyland", hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
KK'S PRIEST, which features Downing alongside Tim "Ripper" Owens (vocals), guitarist A.J. Mills (HOSTILE), bassist Tony Newton (VOODOO SIX) and drummer Sean Elg (DEATHRIDERS, CAGE), will release its debut album, "Sermons Of The Sinner", on August 20 via Explorer1 Music Group/EX1 Records. The LP's first single, "Hellfire Thunderbolt", was released earlier this month.
KK'S PRIEST will play select shows to mark the 50th anniversary of PRIEST and Downing's career as a founding member. KK'S PRIEST's setlist will consist of PRIEST classics and new songs.
Downing left PRIEST in 2011 amid claims of band conflict, shoddy management and declining quality of performance. He was replaced by Richie Faulkner, nearly three decades his junior.
In 2019, Downing said that he reached out to JUDAS PRIEST about taking part in the band's upcoming 50th-anniversary tour but that their response was that they were not interested in including him in the celebrations.
In 2018, Downing revealed that he sent two resignation letters to his bandmates when he decided to quit JUDAS PRIEST. The first was described as "a graceful exit note, implying a smooth retirement from music," while the second was "angrier, laying out all of his frustrations with specific parties."
Downing later said that he believed the second letter was "a key reason" he wasn't invited to rejoin PRIEST after Glenn Tipton's decision to retire from tour

MAX CAVALERA Looks Back On SEPULTURA's 'Roots' Album: It Is 'A Courageous Record' That Has 'Aged Very Well'In a new interview with Australia's Blunt magazine, former SEPULTURA frontman Max Cavalera reflected on the group's groundbreaking 1996 album "Roots", on which he and his bandmates collaborated with the Brazilian Xavante tribe.
"It's good that it's still appreciated to this day," he said. "I think 'Roots' was controversial; a lot of people loved it and a lot of people hated it. [It was] one of those divisive records. I like that about it — that it was not going to please everybody. It's going to piss off some people.
"I think 'Roots' is a courageous record with some really cool stuff in it," he continued. "The tribal stuff, and going to record with the Xavante, it's stuff that's influenced even the new bands like GOJIRA. [Their track] 'Amazonia', that's totally influenced by 'Roots'. It's cool to see bands being influenced by that, people showing respect to the record.
"I think the record's aged very well," Max added. "It's one of those records that just sounds great when you put it on right now. It's not where I am musically; I'm more into stuff like [my extreme metal side project] GO AHEAD AND DIE at the moment. But I am proud of it."
"Roots", along with 1993's "Chaos A.D.", is considered SEPULTURA's most commercially successful release, having been certified gold in 2005 by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) for U.S. shipments in excess of 500,000 copies.
In a 2016 interview with Metal Hammer, KORN singer Jonathan Davis said that he felt "Roots" borrowed heavily from his own band. He said: "I thought [it] was a big compliment, but I also thought it] was fucked up. That was just a blatant KORN rip-off, and I had it out with producer Ross Robinson about that, because he just took our sound and gave it to SEPULTURA. My young brain couldn't handle it. But they were one of our biggest influences, so I guess they get a pass. And that's a classic album, so it's all good."
Later that same year, Max told the "Démentièllement Vôtre" show on Québec City's CKRL 89.1 FM radio station that he disagreed with Davis's assessment of "Roots". "I don't see it like that," he said. "I think especially the sound of KORN, in my opinion, with the bass, is horrible. We didn't have that; we had a lot of low end and things that the KORN album didn't have. So I don't see why he would be pissed off, because I don't see that much of a [similarity] between the two of them. Plus, KORN wasn't the only reason we wanted to work with Ross. He had done a FEAR FACTORY demo that I really liked and had a really raw sound. And he had done a DEFTONES song on the 'Adrenaline' album that I really liked."
He continued: "Saying that is like saying SEPULTURA should be pissed off at CANNIBAL CORPSE because they used [producer] Scott Burns. I'm not pissed off at CANNIBAL CORPSE; I think they're great. 'Cause we were one of the first that used Scott Burns, we should be mad at all the bands that use Scott Burns? That's childish. So he's just really being childish. And I really don't give a shit about KORN or anybody.
"We [were] very different from [KORN]; we have own way of playing and the songs are different. Everything is different. It's just the same guy that recorded [both albums]; that's the only similarity."
Davis was featured as a guest on the "Roots" track "Lookaway" — along with Mike Patton of FAITH NO MORE.
In 1996, Max exited SEPULTURA after the rest of the band split with his wife Gloria as their mana

PAUL STANLEY: 'With Age, You Start To Realize That Life Is Finite And It Does Come To An End'KISS frontman Paul Stanley discussed the band's farewell tour during a new appearance on the CBS syndicated talk show "The Talk". Asked why "End Of The Road" is KISS's final tour, Paul said: "With age, you start to realize that life is finite and it does come to an end. And you don't realize that when you first start out on your journeys. For me, I just realized that physically I can't do this forever. If we were wearing t-shirts and jeans, sure, I could play it into my 90s, but we're running around on stage with 40 or 50 pounds of gear and smiling. So, I don't know how long I can smile. So I wanna do this and get a chance to see people around the world and thank them and have one more evening where we justify the devotion that we've had from them and the love we have back and forth — that reciprocity that's made us what we are."
For or more of Stanley's interview with "The Talk", watch the show on Monday, May 31 on CBS.
KISS's farewell trek was launched in January 2019 and was originally scheduled to conclude on July 17, 2021 in New York City but is now expected to last well into 2022.
Last December, bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons told the 95.5 KLOS radio station that KISS has "a hundred and fifty" shows left in its "End Of The Road" tour, including a stop at "the coldest place on earth."
KISS last performed this past New Year's Eve in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The concert broke Guinness world records for highest flame projection in a music concert and for most flame projections launched simultaneously in a music concert.
KISS's current lineup consists of original members Stanley and Simmons, alongside later band additions, guitarist Tommy Thayer (since 2002) and drummer Eric Singer (on and off since 1991).
Formed in 1973 by Stanley, Simmons, Peter Criss (drums) and Ace Frehley (guitar), KISS staged its first "farewell" tour in 2000, the last to feature the group's original lineup.
In its 48-year career, KISS has accumulated 23 gold and platinum albums — more than any other U.S. band.

DAUGHTRY Teams Up With SEVENDUST's LAJON WITHERSPOON For Cover Of TEMPLE OF THE DOG's 'Hunger Strike'DAUGHTRY is celebrating the memory of Chris Cornell by teaming up with SEVENDUST's Lajon Witherspoon for a reimagining of the hit TEMPLE OF THE DOG song "Hunger Strike".
DAUGHTRY frontman Chis Daughtry says: "Chris Cornell is one of the defining voices that grabbed me by the heartstrings and made me want to be a rock singer. 'Hunger Strike' is one of, if not the most iconic rock duets of our generation. It's the whole '90s wrapped up in one song. Doing this song with Lajon, one of my favorite humans I've had the pleasure of calling friend and brother, means the world to me."
Lajon shares: "What an honor to be a part of this incredible song and to work with my brother Chris Daughtry and the boys. This to me was a musical movement in our community and still to this day in the world."
"Hunger Strike" comes after the recent release of new single "Heavy Is The Crown", the first single from DAUGHTRY in 2021. With a new video expected to unveil itself for the single soon, the band recently provided its broadcast debut with a performance on "The Kelly Clarkson Show".
DAUGHTRY first made history with the release of 2006's quintuple-platinum self-titled debut. Notably, it stands out as the fastest-selling rock debut in SoundScan history in addition to yielding the multi-format smash "It's Not Over". Its platinum-selling 2009 successor, "Leave This Town", became their second No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200. Next up, 2011's "Break The Spell" earned a gold certification in under four weeks. Two years later, "Baptized" yielded the 2013 platinum hit "Waiting For Superman". Along the way, they've captivated fans at sold-out shows in nearly every corner of the globe.
DAUGHTRY's fifth full-length album, "Cage To Rattle", was released in 2018 via 19 Recordings/RCA. The disc was produced by Jacquire King (KINGS OF LEON, Tom Waits, Norah Jones).

QUEEN's 'Greatest Hits' To Be Re-Released In New FormatsAlready wearing the crown as the U.K.'s biggest-selling album of all time and achieving the third-longest chart run on the U.K. official chart, QUEEN's 1981 "Greatest Hits" collection is getting a limited-edition makeover to mark not only the band's historic 50th landmark but also the album's 40th anniversary.
First released in 1981, "Greatest Hits" stands alone as the first and only album to have sold over six million copies in the U.K. (6.75 million sales to date), with global sales in excess of 25 million. Added to that, in the U.K., the collection has now spent over 900 weeks on the album chart and has been certified a staggering 22 times platinum.
And there's more…according to the Official Charts Company, who crowned it "Britain's most popular album of the past 60 years," one in four British households already own a copy of the album.
Now, following the record-breaking global success of QUEEN's "Bohemian Rhapsody" feature film — earning almost $1billion at the international box office — a new generation of faithful QUEEN followers has emerged ensuring that QUEEN's undiminishing appeal will continue well beyond their current record-breaking achievements.
These historic landmarks are now to be marked and celebrated with a brand new collector's-edition "Greatest Hits" CD with exclusive slipcase cover and a limited-edition cassette format, both to be released globally July 2.
In addition, the official QUEEN online store will exclusively offer the collector's edition "Greatest Hits" CD and four highly limited band member color cassettes. This version of the slipcase CD encases a CD-sized print personally signed by band members Brian May and Roger Taylor (limited to 1000 copies only).
Last November, QUEEN's "Greatest Hits" hit the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 for the first time since its release in 1981 and after a jaw-dropping 412 weeks on the chart. Its previous peak was No. 11, which it hit in 1992. The nine-times-platinum-selling career-spanning collection also hit No. 1 on Billboard's Vinyl Albums chart with the second-largest sales week of 2020 for any vinyl release.
Spanning QUEEN's triumphant first act, "Greatest Hits" includes some of the world's most iconic rock songs, including the stadium-sized symphonic chart-topper "Bohemian Rhapsody", the most-streamed song of the 20th century around the globe and the most-streamed classic rock song of all time. Other gems featured on this compendium include the roof-raising "We Are The Champions", the crowd-rousing "We Will Rock You", the tongue-in-cheek "Fat Bottomed Girls", the stomp-stomp-stomp late-'70s-disco-inspired "Another One Bites The Dust", to the finger-snapping jukebox retro-rock homage "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and the soaring, impassioned, gospel-tinged "Somebody To Love".
Last year, QUEEN teamed with Target and Walmart for two separate "Greatest Hits" vinyl exclusives, both being two-disc LPs, 180-gram, with fans having a choice between ruby blend marble vinyl or red and white-colored vinyl.
In an era dominated by hip-hop and pop, QUEEN is bigger than ever with a timeless appeal and a new generation of fans. Their recently released live album, QUEEN + ADAM LAMBERT "Live Around The World", shot to No. 1 on the U.K.'s Official albums chart, their first time topping that chart since 1995's "Made In Heaven".

SUM 41's DERYCK WHIBLEY Releases Reimagined Version Of 'Catching Fire' After Healing From Wife's Suicide AttemptSUM 41 has dropped a reimagined version of its previously released track "Catching Fire" featuring the TikTok creator/musician nothing, nowhere. SUM 41's Deryck Whibley wrote this ballad for his wife, Ari Whibley, after her suicide attempt and they are talking about it for the first time ever in hopes to raise awareness during Mental Health Awareness Month.
SUM 41 fans from all over the world collectively submitted their stories of loss seen in the beautifully shot black-and-white video for "Catching Fire". The vision behind the powerful video-turned-memorial is to shine light on suicide prevention and help tackle the stigma behind mental health head on. The video was directed by John Asher, who previously directed SUM 41's music video for "Never There".
Whibley states about the new single: "Writing this song was cathartic for me in dealing with my emotions for the first time about almost losing my wife to suicide. When I first played it for her, it was the beginning of us having an open conversation about what she went through. In sharing her story, we are hoping to let others know they are not alone and that if you need help, there is no shame in saying so."
nothing, nowhere says: "As someone who has had to deal with mental illness throughout my life, it was a no-brainer when Deryck approached me to get on this song.
"I think it's important to let those close to you know that you love them and that you are there for them unconditionally.
"I'm a lifelong SUM 41 fan and I'm honored to be a part of something like this."
Fans can stream "Catching Fire" now and check out the music video below.
SUM 41's latest album, "Order In Decline", came out in July 2019 via Hopeless Records. Armed with the most honest and intimate songs of his career, Whibley poured everything he had into the LP. Producing, engineering, and mixing the album in his home studio, he painstakingly crafted and fine-tuned each song, highlighted by fast and full riffs, guitar solos from lead guitarist/backing vocalist Dave Brownsound, harmonious chords from guitarist Tom Thacker and the heavy, heart-thumping rhythm section of bassist/backing vocalist Cone McCaslin and drummer Frank Zummo.
After over 15 million records sold worldwide, a Grammy Award nomination, two Juno Awards (seven nominations), a Kerrang! Award in 2002, as well as multiple Alternative Press Music Awards, SUM 41 has no intention of slowing down.

YNGWIE MALMSTEEN Says His New Album 'Parabellum' Is 'Completely Devoid Of Compromise'In a new video interview with Premier Guitar, legendary Swedish guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen spoke about the importance — or lack thereof — of pleasing a certain segment of his fanbase every time he releases a new studio album. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "I've never really been a person that actively follows things or moves in certain directions because of whatever. I'm very much spontaneous. I pick the guitar up and I play it. If it's great, it's great; if it is not, it is not. And I just do what I do.
"It's an interesting phenomenon, because I was doing this for decades before there was an Internet, and I'm sure there were people saying certain things then too; I just didn't hear them," he continued. "I don't hear them now either. But I have a very strong self-criticism built in. I don't allow things that are not up to my standards. If I do something that I feel is very strong and something that I feel very passionate about, if someone says something derogatory about it, I say, 'Well, you can listen to something else.' This is my art. This is my expression. This is what I do. If you try to please everybody, you please nobody.
"My new album, 'Parabellum', is the perfect example," Yngwie added. "It is completely devoid of compromise. It doesn't have any compromise whatsoever in any way, shape or form. It's completely only an expression of what I feel, what I'm passionate about, what came to me spontaneously. So, again, what could be the least important thing to me is what somebody with an iPhone thinks and puts on the Internet."
"Parabellum" will be released on July 23 via Music Theories Recordings/Mascot Label Group. Only four of the songs on the album feature vocals.
The album title "Parabellum" is Latin, translating as "Prepare For War". "There's a track on the album called '(Si Vis Pacem) Parabellum'," Yngwie said. "This translates as 'If you want peace, then prepare for war.' It was a last-minute decision to make this the album title. But I think it fits very well."
The striking portrait on the cover was painted by the acclaimed artist David Benegas.
The complete track listing includes "Wolves At The Door", "Presto Vivace in C# Minor", "Relentless Fury", "(Sis Vis Pacem) Parabellum", "Eternal Bliss", "Toccata", "Good Particle", "Magic Bullet", "(Fight) The Good Fight" and "Sea Of Tranquility". The album will be available on CD, red tranparent LP and digital.

GREAT WHITE Has 'So Much Music' Written For Next Studio AlbumGREAT WHITE guitarist Mark Kendall spoke to the "Nothing Shocking" podcast about the progress of the songwriting sessions for the band's next album. The effort will mark GREAT WHITE's first collection of new material with singer Mitch Malloy, who joined the group in 2018 following the departure of Terry Ilous.
"We have so much music right now," Mark said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET. "The way we've been doing it right now is I've been sending Mitch MP3s of music, and Michael Lardie's [guitar, keyboards] been doing that also, and he's coming back with full songs. It's really rocking. It's a wide range, but mostly just the heavy rock and some really, really cool riffs and good musical pieces in the songs, so the band can breathe. It's not just the singer singing over every note on the record. There's a lot of cool, cool stuff that, for sure, made me wanna play guitar. I'm playing the type of stuff that intrigued me and inspired me and made me wanna get better and improve. So I'm kind of writing like that.
"If you look at any hit song from I don't care who it is — THE BEATLES — if you notice, there's not much going on when the singer's singing, but then there's a musical hook or something to where you don't divide someone's attention with the riff and singing at the same time; you always answer the vocal," he explained. "And so that's kind of he way we've written on this album that's not released yet — but we have a lot of material."
According to Kendall, the coronavirus crisis delayed GREAT WHITE's plans to return to the studio and begin recording the follow-up to 2017's "Full Circle".
"It was unfortunate that we got hit with the pandemic, because Mitch had only been in the band a few months, and then, all of a sudden, this flu virus [came along] that's just out of control," he said. "It was hard for us to get all together and go into a studio, 'cause even engineers are iffy about — they just want one person at a time and all this stuff. We're not that type of band. We would never make a virtual record where we send each other our parts. Because when we play together, that's when everything happens. If we did it online, there would be so much missing that would have been there had we all played in the same room, working the tunes up that way. A lot of things come up that aren't planned… You're not gonna get that with e-mails."
Mark went on to praise Malloy, saying his addition to GREAT WHITE made the songwriting process easier.
"With Mitch, I just send him music and he comes back with a song, which is really inspiring that he can do that," he said. "'Cause I think nobody can do that until they hear my brilliant idea, right? But Mitch is a songwriter — he has, like, 10 solo albums — so he's written plenty of songs. He understands song structure and all of that, so he can handle it. And, obviously, if I hear a vocal line that I think should be changed or something, that can always happen too. But it takes a lot of workload off me that I don't have to show singers every line or whatever."
Ilous, frontman of '80s L.A. hard rockers XYZ, joined GREAT WHITE in 2010 after stepping in for touring vocalist Jani Lane (WARRANT).
The Ilous-led GREAT WHITE released two albums, 2012's "Elation" and the aforementioned "Full Circle", before Terry was dismissed from the group.
This version of GREAT WHITE is not to be confused with JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE, which features original GREAT WHITE singer Jack Russell alongside Robby Lochner (FIGHT) on guitar, Dan McNay on bass, Tony Montana on guitar and Dicki Fliszar on drums.

SLIPKNOT Is Working On 'A Bunch Of Really Cool Stuff' For Next Album: 'It's Feeling Pretty Rad,' Says COREY TAYLORSLIPKNOT frontman Corey Taylor has confirmed to Andy Hall of the Des Moines, Iowa radio station Lazer 103.3 that the band has commenced work on the follow-up to 2019's "We Are Not Your Kind" album. "We've got a bunch of really cool stuff, man," he said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET). "It was something that we just kind of started kicking around, obviously, in quarantine. And Clown [SLIPKNOT percussionist M. Shawn Crahan] hit me up — he was, like, 'Hey, we're gonna start working on some music. Are you down?' I was, like, 'Absolutely. Start sending me some stuff, and we'll start figuring it out.' So they started putting together some rad music, man — really cool stuff that made me start thinking outside my own box and challenging myself. And it was cool, 'cause I got excited again about exploring some different stuff and not just being so driven in my own thing but thinking outside, trying to tell other people's stories again. And that's kind of where I'm going with this new SLIPKNOT album — trying to tell other people's stories and not just my own. And it's feeling pretty rad, man. I can't wait for people to hear it."
Taylor also talked about the evolution of SLIPKNOT's masks and what fans can expect to see during the band's upcoming touring cycle.
"The mask has been a part of us forever," he said. "The mask is king. And for us, especially people like me and Clown and the guys in the band that really allow those masks to evolve, it's important for it to be a reflection of who we are in that music. And I can tell you that the mask I'm working on is very disturbing. It's gonna be hard to look at. And it'll probably be my favorite mask that I've ever put together. It's little bits and pieces of things that have intrigued me, of masks that I've had in the past. And it's gonna have a devil-may-care kind of terror to it, let's put it that way."
Taylor's last mask was created with actor, stunt man and special effects/prosthetic makeup artist Tom Savini.
Two years ago, Taylor told the Des Moines Register that some of "We Are Not Your Kind" was written while he was forced to "figure out who I was" following his last divorce, without relapsing into substance abuse.
"We Are Not Your Kind" came out in August 2019. The disc sold 118,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in its first week of release to land at position No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Furthermore, the album made an impact worldwide with No. 1 debuts in the United Kingdom, Mexico, Australia, Canada, Japan, Ireland, Belgium, Portugal and Finland, as well as Top 5 debuts in Germany, France, Norway, Italy, Austria, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Poland, Spain and New Zealand.
"We Are Not Your Kind"'s sales in the U.S. were boosted by a concert ticket/album sale redemption offer with SLIPKNOT's summer 2019 tour.

SCATTERED STORM Feat. PISSING RAZORS Members Release “Kingslayer” VideoHailing from El Paso, TX, Scattered Storm is gearing up to release their debut EP Oblivion this summer. Their sound is both primal and futuristic, with clean groovy tones coming from 7 and 8 string guitars and catchy, heavy vocals. The first single from this release is “Kingslayer” being presented with a music video.
“Kingslayer”, is the heaviest track and came about by guitarist Kevin Armstrong watching too much Godzilla, plus it features a “Stanley Kubrick inspired space like ending.” They explain the track further in their own words:
“We felt this song really encompasses the overall sound of the band, because it has pretty much everything we wanted to throw in there. Big vocals, big guitars, pummeling bass, but most importantly that heavy ass steady groove, which will get some of these headbanging necks a run for their money. Lyrically touches on a couple of religious subjects plus the philosophical, but mostly focusing on letting go of all of that and being free of the mind and spirit.”
This new album isn’t a concept album, but each song meshes with the others and there is a distinct flow from one track to the next. Overall, it is captivating, showing off a band that is still experimenting with elements, but comes across as refined without sacrificing tightness.
The men behind Scattered Storm are not new entrants to the metal game. Jay Arriaga played in Random Allusion, and Years of Cold; Andre Acosta also belonged to Pissing Razors and Years Of Cold; Kevin Armstrong is currently with Mondoshawan and toured extensively with Section 6. Ed Razor is the founder of Pissing Razors and he also played drums with Overkill and bass with Ministry.
Those looking for music with a lot of ambience akin to Gojira, Tesseract, Fear Factory and Meshuggah will be interested in the futuristic sound of Scattered Storm.
Digitally pre-save the EP here.

Sweden's FANS OF THE DARK Ink Multi-Album Label DealFrontiers Music Srl announces the signing of Sweden's Fans Of The Dark to the label for a multi-album deal.
Fans Of The Dark is an exciting new band formed in the summer of 2020 by Freddie Allen, drummer and main songwriter, and lead vocalist Alex Falk. The pair went to high school together in Stockholm and after a few years reconnected recently with a vision to create a band which would mix the melodies and approach of classic and melodic rock with elements of the great metal music of the '80s. The final result is one of the most exciting things you'll hear emerging from the fruitful melodic rock scene in Sweden, showcasing a tight, inventive musical approach with outstanding vocals.
"I had written an album basically on my own during the pandemic," says Freddie. ”But I had Alex in mind all the time and I knew that he wanted to do this. His voice is just an absolute monster and I thought it would be interesting to hear that voice singing on top of some really great songs driven by guitars, bass, and drums. That was the start of it.”
The last two pieces of the puzzle to complete the band’s lineup were Robert Majd (Captain Black Beard, Metalite, Nighthawk) who came in on bass and Oscar Bromvall (Palace, Code Red) on guitar. Mixing and mastering was handled by Mike Palace (Palace, Kent Hilli).
"Now, all we want to do is record more albums and in the future play these songs in front of a live audience and really put on a show," says Freddie. "I have confidence in the material, and in our abilities as songwriters and performers. 2020 was the worst year in the recent human history, 2021 has already been a lot more hopeful, and I know that 2022 is going to be even better. So, bring it on!”
The label looks set to unleash this beast of a band very soon. Get ready for a fantastic ride.

Twenty-twenty-one marks Anthrax's 40th anniversary, during which time the band has released 11 studio albums, been awarded multiple Gold and Platinum certifications, six Grammy nominations, and a host of other accolades from the media, the music industry, and fans. In 1991, the band helped break down race and genre barriers when they collaborated with Public Enemy on the track "Bring The Noise," and was the first metal band to have its music heard on Mars when NASA played "Got The Time" to wake up the Mars Rover in 2012.
Along with Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth, Anthrax is a card-carrying member of The Big Four, the four bands that defined the speed/thrash/metal genre. Anthrax has also introduced a series now sold-out signature whiskeys and bourbons and partnered with the Stockholm-based NEZUMI Studios for a high-end, limited-edition Baleine dive watch.
Twenty-twenty-one will see the release of Z2 Comics' "Among The Living" graphic novel with a track-by-track storyline inspired by Anthrax's iconic 1987 album, Among The Living. The book pulls together a "who's who" of names from the worlds of comics and music who created "bubble dialogue" and original artwork to express what the songs meant to them. Taking advantage of COVID-19's prohibition of concert touring, the band has been hard at work writing the next Anthrax album.

HARDLINE Debut "Surrender" Music VideoHardline will release of their new studio album, Heart, Mind And Soul, on July 9 via Frontiers Music Srl. Watch a video for the song "Surrender" below, and pre-order/save the new album on CD/Color LP/Digital here.
"This album is a true reflection of who we are and what we care about. I’m always amazed, despite what some critics may say, that we have the strength and power to push through the way we believe and want to. That will never change with this band. It’s a very, very special band chemistry we have here," says vocalist Johnny Gioeli.
Ever since the release of their widely heralded album Danger Zone in 2012, Hardline have been offering a straight-ahead, gritty, riff-based melodic hard rock sound which is a continuing evolution from what was on offer in the band's early days. What you get here on their new studio album is a group of musicians who are perfectly gelled as a unit and determined to display a sound that is immediate and powerful. Adding their own personality and imprint to the music, the band has created a perfect balance between these anthemic, hard rocking songs. You can expect hook after hook and riff after riff as you take a ride with Hardline via Heart, Mind And Soul.
Singer Johnny Gioeli, as usual, is in supreme form, providing a soaring vocal performance to stir up the listener. Complementing that, Mario Percudani’s guitar is on fire and the super tight rhythm section of Anna Portalupi and Marco Di Salvia is locked in. Alessandro Del Vecchio's immeasurable contribution on keyboards, background vocals, and production serve to tie the whole package together. He is, rightfully and deservedly, one of the “go to” guys in the melodic hard rock scene and this record shows, once again, why.
"Heart, Mind And Soul is an album you can’t turn off, in my biased opinion. After writing it, recording it, mixing, mastering, planning, deciding....on and on, you would think we’d get sick of it. Not even close. One of my most favorite Hardline albums to date without question," says Gioeli.
Hardline evolved from being an up-and-coming Sunset Strip sensation featuring brothers Johnny (vocals) and Joey (guitar) Gioeli to a supergroup of sorts, featuring former Bad English members Neal Schon and Deen Castronovo, before finally settling in and becoming a band showcasing the incredible talents of the fabulous singer Johnny Gioeli with the production and songwriting skills of Alessandro Del Vecchio (Revolution Saints, Jorn, etc.), the shredding talents of guitarist Mario Percudani, and the powerful rhythm section made up of bassist Anna Portalupi and drummer Marco Di Salvia. What truly makes Hardline special is how well their unique and different talents blend together to form a spectacular whole.
Heart, Mind And Soul is simply an album you can’t miss if you love melodic hard rock, but what else would you expect from a new Hardline album? They are, after all, masters of the genre.
The band plans to hit the road once touring resumes post-pandemic, so take the time to learn all of these future classics to sing along with Johnny soon enough!
"After we can finally say FU to Covid-19, Hardline is on the road with this album and we'll be in your face. You better pack a diaper, it could get messy when you hear this live," concludes Gioeli. Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action) Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"

CRYPTA Release "Starvation" Drum Playthrough VideoBrazilian/Dutch death metal unit, Crypta, will release their first full-length, Echoes Of The Soul, on June 11 via Napalm Records. A drum playthrough video for the song "Starvation" can be seen below:
Fernanda Lira and Luana Dametto are joined by supremely talented guitarists Sonia Anubis (Cobra Spell, ex-Burning Witches) and Tainá Bergamaschi (ex-Hagbard) to incite an uncontrollable storm of pure rage and belligerence. They enforce a heightened level of potency and experience from their successful past and current projects - enhancing influences from both classic and modern death metal genres, plus significant extreme and black metal elements, to create a sound of their own.
Echoes Of The Soul was recorded in January 2021 at the Family Mob Studio (Brazil), mixed by Arthur Rizk (Code Orange, Powertrip etc.) and mastered by the famed Jens Bogren (Opeth, Dimmu Borgir, Sepultura etc.). The cover artwork was created by Wes Benscoter, who is internationally famous for his stunning covers for bands such as Slayer, Kreator, Black Sabbath and many more.
Atmospherically dark and threatening, the 55-second intro “Awakening” prepares the listener for the oncoming ferocity of Echoes Of The Soul, dispensing murky, fiery fuel into the death metal machine. Their significant sonic texture derived from various death metal subgenres and traces of classic thrash becomes instantly evident as the album begins, reflective of the entirely vicious, infernal aura the 10-track debut is about to unleash. Crypta unbridle high-powered sonic demons and nourish cumulative, explosive energy with raging guitar riffs, Fernanda Lira’s unmistakable vocal color and Damettos's menacing drums. Tracks like “Starvation”, “Kali” and “Blood Stained Heritage” incite an uncontrollable storm of pure rage and belligerence, while offerings like “Under The Black Wings” and “Dark Night Of the Soul” deliver a message of pure hardness in perilous atmosphere. “Death Arcana” provides its listener further insight into Crypta’s sonic mastery and captivates with sprawling solos reminiscent of earlier times, yet spiced with a modern twist.
Echoes Of The Soul will be available in the following formats:
-CD Jewel Case

STORMRULER Release "At The Cliffs Of Azure City" Lyric VideoFast-rising St. Louis-based black metal export, Stormruler, will release their infernal, fantasy battle-inspired full-length offering, Under The Burning Eclipse, on May 28 via Napalm Records, and are gracing fans with a special early surprise - a brand new lyric video for the track "At The Cliffs Of Azure City".
Combat-ready standout “At The Cliffs Of Azure City” proves exactly why Stormruler have turned heads in the underground with their grim attack. The track incorporates ruminations of classic heavy metal combined with scorched, war-torn percussion to create a blackened offering for the modern age.
Stormruler says about the track: “'At The Cliffs Of Azure City' is a track that demonstrates a bit of an off-kilter approach, with the first riff in 5/4 and a bridge section that has a traditional heavy metal feel. Lyrically it describes a city under siege by a powerful sorceress and her army of mages."
Fans will be able to experience Stormruler's sinister mastery in all its glory on the same day as the new album is released - from their own homes.
On May 28 at 12 PM, PDT/3 PM, EDT/9 PM, CEST, Black Metal Promotion will stream the band's very first performance virtually, for free, in celebration of the new album's release.
Stormruler says about the stream: "We’re incredibly excited for everything to finally make it to this point and we can’t think of a better way of saying thank you for the all the support this early on. We’ve got two very close friends of ours helping fill out the live lineup - Marcus Newstead (Fister, Daybringer) doing a bang up job on second guitar duties, and Tim Kutterer (Bastard, Lightning Wolf) crushing it on the low end. We’ve all been grinding hard as hell to get these songs ready to show everyone, and I think it shows. This might be the inaugural Stormruler set, but it will be just a sample of what’s to come.”
Watch the stream here on May 28.
Stormruler - featuring the dark lyrical genius and deft skill of guitarist/vocalist Jason Asberry and drummer Jesse Schobel - have built a noteworthy subterranean following since their formation, leading to their recent signing with Napalm Records. Combining unrelenting black metal atmosphere and vision from varying metal genres with a brutal, modernized twist of inspiration, careful listeners may just be able to identify themes from some of their favourite stories, games and more…
Featuring 19 tracks alternating between ominous instrumental ambience and incendiary black metal riffs and fury, the album tells harrowing tales of war, death, victory and defeat, and delivers an unmatched, hellscaped auditory experience. Creeping in like menacing sonic smoke, instrumental ambient intro track “Shine Of Ivory Horns” launches directly into opener “Reign Of The Winged Duke”, instantly careening into a cascade of pummeling drums and charred riffage.
Under The Burning Eclipse evenly ebbs and flows between warning mystical atmosphere and ghastly action, evident on the likes of blackened headbobbers “Age Of Steel & Blood”, “Dawn Of The Eternal Fire” and unrelenting 8+ minute title epic “Under The Burning Eclipse”. Standout burner “Of Hollowed Souls & Distant Flame” looks to the north with archaic screams and memorable, colossal progressions, while combat-ready tracks like “At The Cliffs Of Azure City” incorporate ruminations of classic heavy metal combined with scorched, war-torn percussion.
The album traverses desolate musical peaks and valleys before closing with the otherworldly brutality of “Fear The Old Blood” – a non-stop onslaught of black metal attack – and ambient, acoustically-driven finisher of olde “Fields Of Mortal Shame”. Under The Burning Eclipse is a solid hour of fantasy-laden, grim fables transfixed in blackened scourge. Fans of extreme metal will not want to miss this debut offering from the mighty Stormruler!
Stormruler adds about the album: “We sought to take all of the elements we love about black and death metal and make the album we always wanted to hear. Early on, we formulated the idea to compose interludes between the songs to segue the moods, yet maintain a cohesive nature. As long-time fans of dark fantasy and historical warfare, it seemed like the proper path lyrically.”
Under The Burning Eclipse will be available in North America in the following formats:
- CD Digipack
- 2LP Gatefold Vinyl Black
- Limited DieHard Edition: 2LP Gatefold Vinyl Orange/Black Splatter + Slipmat & Logo Patch (Napalm Mailorder Only - only 200 copies worldwide)

PAUL STANLEY Still Remembers A Bad KISS Review From 47 Years AgoKISS frontman Paul Stanley has reflected on Patrick MacDonald's scathing review of the band's 1974 concert in Seattle, saying the Seattle Times writer's words grow "funnier every year."
MacDonald attended KISS's May 25, 1974 performance at the Paramount Northwest, where the band shared the bill with MANFRED MANN and SAVOY BROWN. In his review, which was published two days later, MacDonald described KISS as "a very flashy glitter band that tries to make up in theatrics what it lacks musically," and called their set an "amusing rock extravaganza" while dismissing the songs as "strictly on the moron level ... made up of a series of simple chords any child could learn and lyrics that are there because they rhyme." He went on to say: "I hope the four guys who make up the group, whose names don't matter, are putting money away for the future. The near future, because KISS won't be around long."
Earlier today, Stanley shared a portion of MacDonald's review on Twitter, and he included the following message: "This grows funnier every year. And to the gentleman who wrote this 'prophecy'... In 1974 I hope YOU were putting away YOUR money for the future. It's not easy being an unemployed critic."
MacDonald reportedly had a 35-year-run as the Seattle Times' music critic before retiring in 2008. He ended his farewell column by quoting one of KISS's best-known songs. "What am I going to do now?" he asked. "Well, of course, I'm going to rock 'n' roll all night and party every day!"
KISS's farewell trek was launched in January 2019 and was originally scheduled to conclude on July 17, 2021 in New York City but is now expected to last well into 2022.
KISS last performed this past New Year's Eve in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The concert broke Guinness world records for highest flame projection in a music concert and for most flame projections launched simultaneously in a music concert.
KISS's current lineup consists of original members Stanley and bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons, alongside later band additions, guitarist Tommy Thayer (since 2002) and drummer Eric Singer (on and off since 1991).
Formed in 1973 by Stanley, Simmons, Peter Criss (drums) and Ace Frehley (guitar), KISS staged its first "farewell" tour in 2000, the last to feature the group's original lineup.
In its 48-year career, KISS has accumulated 23 gold and platinum albums — more than any other U.S. band.
This grows funnier every year. And to the gentleman who wrote this "prophecy"... In 1974 I hope YOU were putting away YOUR money for the future. It's not easy being an unemployed critic. https://t.co/EEdk05z8Zz pic.twitter.com/RJNabluisM

CANNIBAL CORPSE's ERIK RUTAN Has 'Thought About' Writing AutobiographyIn a brand new interview with the "Scars And Guitars" podcast, veteran death metal guitarist Erik Rutan and producer, who has played with CANNIBAL CORPSE, HATE ETERNAL, MORBID ANGEL and RIPPING CORPSE, was asked if he would ever consider releasing an autobiography. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "I thought about writing down my memoirs, but I always thought to myself I wouldn't release it until I was dead.
"My life story is so complicated and complex and vast. That's what I notice when I do interviews that are not just specifically related to one thing. Of course, they're long, because, Jesus, my career is long — there's so much there, let alone my life. Before I was even 18, I felt like I had lived 40 years of life. So it's a really involved story, and definitely a story of someone that could have easily ended up not here talking to you right now. So it's an interesting story. I share a little bit of myself when I do interviews or talk to people. I keep a lot to myself as well. You'd be amazed at the people I've met that have shared personal things with me and that my music inspired them to wanna tell me these things, and I tell them a little bit of myself that I might not share in a public forum — because that's my way of giving it back to them for sharing with me."
He continued: "I've even had offers to do a book, but I always thought if I was to do something like that, I wouldn't wanna candy-coat it and I'd wanna be fully transparent, just kind of like how I am. I guess I thought I should start writing down my memoirs because I'm getting older and my life is a really unique story and definitely an underdog kind of story of me being a kid that, man, I had all the odds stacked against me to make it in life, let alone in my lofty career goals. But somehow I was able to overcome a lot of adversity to get to this point. I guess I thought about it, but, like I said, I don't think I would ever… I don't know… I don't know if I'd ever do a book. And if ever did a book, I wouldn't release it till I was gone."
CANNIBAL CORPSE released its 15th studio album, "Violence Unimagined", on April 16 via Metal Blade Records. Rutan lent his guitar as well as production skills to the effort, which was recorded at his Mana Recording in St. Petersburg, Florida. Rutan previously produced four CANNIBAL CORPSE albums (in addition to "Violence Unimagined"), alongside the likes of GOATWHORE, SOILENT GREEN and BELPHEGOR. Filling in live on guitar since 2019, in 2020 he became a full member, contributing to the writing process.

TED NUGENT Offers His Solution To U.S. Mass Shooting EpidemicTed Nugent has weighed in on the latest in a spate of deadly U.S. mass shootings, saying "this kind of stuff could be stopped."
On Wednesday, a California transit employee killed nine co-workers before taking his own life. Authorities said Thursday they recovered three handguns following the rampage at the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) property in San Jose, rather than two they initially said the gunman carried.
A board member of the National Rifle Association, Nugent addressed the San Jose killings during a Facebook Live stream earlier today (Thursday, May 27). He said in part (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "I see all these news reports… News reports — they're not news reports; they're propaganda explosions.
"So we had a horrible shooting in San Diego [sic]. And then someone will criticize us for offering thoughts and prayers to the victims. Well, we do offer thoughts and prayers to all victims. And, you know, this kind of stuff could be stopped.
"So there's a shooting in San Diego [sic] by a guy who has been reported to the government officials numerous times that he rapes his wife, he rapes his ex-wife, he has stated numerous times to the people in his life, 'I wanna kill people. I'm really upset down there at the VTA, Valley Transit Authority [sic]. I'd like to kill those people.' And so the people who heard these threats of violence called the people in charge, people with authority… And right away, the news goes, 'He probably used one of those assault weapons, those military assault weapons, to kill that many people.' No, he used two handguns. The San Diego [sic] shooter used two handguns. 'Well, where did he get 'em?' I don't know. Ace Hardware? Or the same place that the Crips and Bloods get 'em. Or maybe the MS-13 get 'em. Maybe they got 'em from Eric Holder [former Attorney General of the United States] and Barack Obama [former president of the United States]."
Nugent continued: "See what's going on here? This propaganda ministry in the United States Of America has brainwashed so many feeble, comfortably numb, braindead, soulless punks that they believe this shit.
"Hey, Mr. Newscaster, he didn't use an AR-15 — he had two handguns. And you know how he killed all those people? It was freakboy Biden's dream. It was David Chipman's dream where these people died, just like in every instance where the most innocent lives are lost," he said, referring to President Biden's choice to lead the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). "It's in David Chipman's dream, it's in Sarah Brady's [former prominent advocate for gun control in the United States] dream, it's in Barack Obama's dream zone of gun-free zones. And we still accept it.
"Tell your mayor, your senator and your congressman and your governor every fucking day that the most innocent lives are always lost in gun-free zones. The guitar player can fix that. End gun-free zones.
"My fellow Americans, you wanna save lives? Uncle Ted's got the answer. Get everybody in your life to make sure they don't drink and drive. Make sure they don't buy chemicals that destroy their brain and eat enough food to turn 'em into sperm whales. That's how you save lives.
"I can give you the list of causes of death in this country, and it eclipses the Chinese virus.
"Get rid of gun-free zones. Eat like you have a brain and a conscience. Respect your sacred temple by stop poisoning it. And raise absolute living hell with your government punks who have been ignoring us for too long.
"I have the right to protect my sacred gift of life — period — on planet Earth. Thank God America has a Second Amendment 'cause it's the only place that does. And if you got rid of all the violent Democrat-controlled cities, we wouldn't be in top one hundred of crime with firearms in the world. If you got rid of Chicago and Detroit and San Francisco and Baltimore, if you got rid of all the Democrat-run gun-free zones, America wouldn't be in the top one hundred of slaughter zones of the world. Because the Democrats like you to lose control and to be unarmed and helpless. What a curse. What a demonic decree. That another man can possibly tell you, 'No, I'm afraid you can't defend yourself in these areas.'"
Gun-free zones are areas where firearms are federally prohibited with or without a permit. Critics of the legislation have said that mandating gun-free zones announces to the bad guys that it's open season on law-abiding citizens.
This past March, Nugent threatened President Joe Biden and other Democrats, telling them to "come and take it" just hours before the House of Representatives passed two gun-safety bills.
In a March 11 Facebook post, Nugent addressed Biden and "all you other oath violating traitors," writing, "Google my address and itinerary and Come and Take It!" He also proclaimed, "If you want to play Concorde bridge again, you will be the British and I will be the Americans, again."

ROB HALFORD 'Would Love' To Write And Record New Song With BABYMETALRob Halford has revealed that he would love to write and record a new song with the Japanese pop-metal group BABYMETAL.
The JUDAS PRIEST singer, who performed the band's classic tracks "Painkiller" and "Breaking The Law" with BABYMETAL at the 2016 Alternative Music Awards, told Metal Hammer magazine: "I was delighted to be asked. It was such a hectic day that it was over in a flash, but it was a blast."
Halford's appearance with BABYMETAL saw "The Metal God" donning a new outfit that he acquired specially for the occasion.
"Once I knew I was going to do it, I thought about their outfits and went to the vintage store and got a black-and-red pseudo leather jacket, a black-and-red t-shirt from Amazon, and I bought some black and red sneakers as well," he said. "So, I actually put together an outfit exclusively for BABYMETAL. It's in my closet still somewhere."
Regarding a possible new collaboration with BABYMETAL, Rob said: "It would be great to jump in on a 'Gimme Chocolate!!' or a 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!'. But even more than that, I would love to sing in Japanese, because I've never done anything like that. It would be a thrill to sing a BABYMETAL song, but rather than one of their existing songs, I'd like to do something unique. We could make a one-off special; that would be a dream. Maybe when PRIEST goes to Japan next, we can stop in a studio and do an original song. Call it 'Fox God Metal God'."
BABYMETAL's Su-Metal previously stated about her band's performance with Halford at the Alternative Music Awards: "It was really amazing and fantastic. A collaboration with Rob Halford, the 'Metal God,' has always been my dream. I never imagined that dream would come true!"
Back in October 2018, Halford praised BABYMETAL in an interview with Bandwagon, calling the Japanese band "one of the most unique metal experiences in the world right now. Not only their appearances, and their style and everything that surrounds them visually but they're an incredible band as well," he said. "I met the band a couple of years ago in America and they're so passionate about metal, they know everything about metal music and they've created a very special feeling and experience within the entire world of metal. They work extremely hard to create something unique and I think it's paying off and they're doing such an amazing job. In fact, I was watching the new music video for 'Starlight' and even with one member leaving, they still sound great."
A year prior to his performance with BABYMETAL, Halford posed for a photograph with the band backstage at the Rock On The Range festival.
Many heavy metal fans have been reluctant to embrace BABYMETAL — which also includes producer Kobametal and a backing band of corpse-painted virtuosos — with some Internet forums calling them "the definition of a gimmick", "awful" and "metal for hipsters."

CHAOS RISING - All-Female Metal Collective Releases "Normalize" Single And VideoInternational all-female metal collective, Chaos Rising, have release their fourteenth single and video, "Normalize". Watch the new clip below.
Founded by French multi-instrumentalist Stéphanie Nolf (Unsafe, Syrinx), Chaos Rising is a unique project that brings together female metal musicians from across the globe. The collaboration is going from strength to strength, attracting some of the biggest names in metal.
"Normalize" is a high-energy industrial metal track written by Catherine Fearns (guitar, synthesizer) and Stéphanie Nolf (vocals, bass). The song is a celebration of the achievements of women, and a reminder that while these achievements have been overlooked or suppressed by the history books, women are now being written back into history, and the true story is being told.
Chaos Rising is blazing a trail, and not only by providing opportunities for women and gender minorities to become involved in all aspects of metal music. These girls are innovating fast, exemplifying how musicians are networking to adapt and create amidst current challenges.

THE ROLLING STONES Release Two Retro Lyric Videos In Celebration Of "Jumpin' Jack Flash" AnniversaryThe Rolling Stones have released a new lyric video for their iconic 1968 single, "Jumpin’ Jack Flash". To commemorate 53 years of rock ‘n’ roll perfection, both "Jumpin' Jack Flash"and its B-Side, "Child Of The Moon", have been given a visual revamp.
The pair of videos were conceived and created by Yes Please Productions, the design studio responsible for all of the Stones’ lyric videos since the reissue of Their Satanic Majesties Request in 2017.
The "Jumpin' Jack Flash" visualizer opens with red, white and black geometric shapes whirring to that unmistakable Keith Richards riff, different objects moving in and out of the screen to every bar of music - diamonds, circles and clean lines soon make way for a kaleidoscopic whir just in time for the maracas to make themselves at home.
The primary colour palette, paired with the brush script lyrics, sets out to convey the raw, stripped back nature of the Stones hit. A vintage grain and film texture is laid over the video, adding to the retro feel.
Tom Readdy, creative director at Yes Please Productions, adds: “Lyric videos are an integral part of the marketing mix in the music industry, especially for catalogue artists, but they’re so often treated as an afterthought. The excitement and rush of the song is something that should be conveyed in the lyric video, just as it would in traditional promo - no music fan is going wild over something they could’ve done themselves. Our videos will be the visual representation of these iconic songs for the foreseeable future, and that's a huge honour as well as a great responsibility!”
"Child Of The Moon" opts for a more subdued feel, inspired by the natural landscape and elements from the track’s original, acid-tinged 1968 promo video, directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg. Yes Please Productions lifted the typeface for the new lyric video from the original 7” single, ensuring the song’s psychedelic, retro tones were conveyed faithfully in 2021. This ‘60s-inspired theme is furthered with bespoke illustrations of flowers, leaves and patterns that grow in and around the typeface.
"Jumpin' Jack Flash" was released as a non-album 7” single on May 24, 1968. Yes Please Productions’ lyric videos for The Rolling Stones have helped support a reignited interest in the legendary band’s work within younger generations, thanks to millions of YouTube views and Spotify visualizers.
Lucy Dawkins, creative director at Yes Please Productions, adds: “Over the last four years, we’ve made more than 100 lyric videos for the Stones - it’s always a joy to dig back into the catalogue and find new ways of interpreting the classics. 'Jumpin’ Jack Flash'’s rock ‘n’ roll danger and 'Child Of The Moon'’s psychedelic undertones always played well off one another on the 7”, and putting that dichotomy to film was one of the more rewarding moments we’ve had with the Stones’ work.”
