TIMES OF GRACE Feat. KILLSWITCH ENGAGE Members: 'Songs Of Loss And Separation' Album Due In JulyTIMES OF GRACE, the collaborative project featuring KILLSWITCH ENGAGE members Jesse Leach (vocals) and Adam Dutkiewicz (guitar), will release its long-awaited sophomore album, "Songs Of Loss And Separation", on July 16. The disc's first single, "The Burden Of Belief", will arrive tomorrow (Friday, May 21). A short preview of the track is available below.
"Songs Of Loss And Separation" track listing:
01. The Burden Of Belief
02. Mend You
03. Rescue
04. Far From Heavenless
05. Bleed Me
06. Medusa
07. Currents
08. To Carry The Weight
09. Cold
10. Forever
Last December, Leach said that he and Dutkiewicz were "finalizing" things for the new record's release. He also blamed the album's delay on the fact that 2020 was "a shitshow," in part due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. "We just wanna make sure it comes out properly — the way that we want it to be presented, and have some good visual ideas and some good artwork," he explained. "And we found a good home at a label. So all of that is wrapping up."
Back in August, Dutkiewicz told the Metal Blade Live Series that he was "really excited" about the new TIMES OF GRACE material. "There's some pretty mellow vibes on that record, for sure," he said. "It's definitely one of the darkest things I've ever written topically."
In July, Leach told the "BREWtally Speaking Podcast" that the new TIMES OF GRACE album is "leaps and bounds better [than 2011's 'The Hymn Of A Broken Man']. It's more creative, it's more genuine, I feel," he said. "I feel like there was definitely a bleed-in of KILLSWITCH influence on that first record, and how could there not be, with me and Adam working together. And I feel like this new record sort of pulls away from that and really sort of defines us and our sound as TIMES OF GRACE, where I listen back to 'Live In Love' [from the first TIMES OF GRACE album] and certain songs like that, and you can hear the KILLSWITCH influence. And that's cool, and fans, I'm sure, appreciated that, but I'm very happy to pull away from that and do something different for this new record."
Leach went on to speak in more detail about TIMES OF GRACE's musical progression and the band's plans to release a full-length album and a separate EP.
"It's a mixed bag [of musical styles]," he told "BREWtally Speaking Podcast". "There's definitely some of that sort of bluesy [stuff] — definitely a lot of blues, I should say. But it comes in different forms. I'd say there's a mixture of a touch of some stoner vibes going on there. There's definitely a touch of, like, I guess the term would be 'post metal,' atmospheric metal — guitars with a lot of delay and space with big, heavy bass and slow-moving stuff. There's more rock and roll, more indie rock. And there's still traces of the metal that we're known for here and there."
He continued: "I think with the direction we're heading in, and why there's gonna be two releases, this first release we wanted to make sure it sort of didn't really have any of that heavy KILLSWITCH-y vibe to it. So the first record is going to be what I feel is our signature sound that we've sort of embraced, and it just kind of happened through Adam's writing. And then the EP will be a little bit more of the metal that you have come to know and reflect on the first record. So it's a real mixed bag. And I'm glad to say I don't think you can really put a genre on us because of that. We'll see. I'm sure people are gonna still call it metalcore. I don't even know what the fuck that term means anymore. But I'm happy to say that I think that we are no longer going to be called that style of music, because I think we're more of a heavy metal/rock band, if you will."
TIMES OF GRACE entered Signature Sound studio in San Diego, California in late 2017 to begin recording material for its new LP. Sitting behind the drum kit during the sessions was Dan Gluszak, who previously played drums for TIMES OF GRACE on tour and has since been named an official member of the band.
"The Hymn Of A Broken Man" was released in January 2011 via Roadrunner Records. The CD sold around 10,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 44 on The Billboard 200 chart.
Dutkiewicz and Leach originally worked together on KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's benchmark album, 2002's "Alive Or Just Breathing". That record has become definitive for an entire generation of American metal, with Leach's voice and uplifting lyrics serving as one of the key elements that propelled the album to "modern classic" status. Leach left KILLSWITCH ENGAGE shortly after "Alive Or Just Breathing"'s release but rejoined the group in early 2012 following the departure of his replacement, Howard Jones.

BATTLE BEAST And SMACKBOUND Singers Join Forces As LAURENNE/LOUHIMO; Debut Album Due In JulyFrontiers Music Srl has announced the release of the debut album from one of its most exciting new projects, a collaboration between powerhouse Finnish vocalists Noora Louhimo (BATTLE BEAST) and Netta Laurenne (SMACKBOUND), under the banner LAURENNE/LOUHIMO. "The Reckoning" will be unleashed on July 9 on CD/LP/digital. Today, fans can get their first taste of the album with the pummelling grooves of debut single and music video, "Bitch Fire", which features a guest guitar solo by Samy Elbanna from LOST SOCIETY.
Laurenne says: "With this album, I wanted to capture the essence of classic heavy metal and hard rock and combine it with great melodies and lyrics that have value. It was clear from the beginning, having two strong voices on the album, that this album was going to be full of power, energy, attitude and emotion. I envisioned it lovingly kicking everyone's ass, my own included, and I think it does just that. It's pushing us to do better and evolve, yet having great empathy towards the struggles we all face as humans."
Adds Louhimo: "My inspiration was definitely the thought of empowering and the songs giving a feeling of strength and sensitivity. And us interpreting the songs from our hearts and souls with full force, leaving no question about how passionate we are as vocalists and artists."
Serafino Perugino, Frontiers president/head of A&R, said: "I believe Netta is a truly gifted and talented artist, and this is one of a few records besides SMACKBOUND that we will start a fruitful creative and artistic cooperation with her on. To pair her with Noora, who literally blows everyone away with her smashing vocals in not only her main band BATTLE BEAST, but also on MAGNUS KARLSSON'S FREE FALL and HEART HEALER records, is incredibly exciting and an honor."
After Perugino approached Netta about the possibility of some new projects for the label, including a duets album, Netta realized this was the perfect opportunity to fulfill her idea of a collaborative album with Noora. And now, these two incredible singers have put together a storming melodic metal album.
Track listing:
01. Time To Kill The Night
02. The Reckoning
03. Tongue Of Dirt
04. Striking Like A Thunder
05. Bitch Fire
06. Hurricane Love
07. To The Wall
08. Viper's Kiss
09. Walk Through Fire
10. Dancers Of Truth

KORN And PUCK HCKY Release New Hockey-Themed CollaborationPuck Hcky, the hockey-based fashion brand, has released a new collection of gear with the legendary band KORN.
Matt Marini, CEO of Puck Hcky, says: "When KORN dropped their first record, you knew it was something very special the moment it blasted out of the speakers and literally rattled your brain. That amazing low end, the groove, the vocal styling and the phenomenal guitar work were so original and remain so to this day. KORN has remained consistently great over 25 years and 13 albums, and it is truly an honor for Puck Hcky to be working with them. We had a great time creating this collection together, and there is much more to come."
The Korn x Puck Hcky collection includes pro-level quality crested jerseys, hoodies, flannels, joggers, hats, raglans and tees.
The entire collection is available at www.puckhcky.com.
Based in Royal Oak, Michigan, about 10 minutes north of Detroit, Puck Hcky started in 2015 when Marini decided that the hockey world needed a "cool" fashion brand and his partner, Puck Hcky president Amy Steffek, pushed to "go for it." "So we jumped in, and Puck Hcky was born," Marini told California Rubber. "We are having an absolute blast with the brand and growing day by day. We have an amazing crew here, too. Everyone is totally focused on making Puck Hcky the go-to hockey-fashion brand for the masses."
Regarding Puck Hcky's artist collaborations, Marini said: "What makes all of the collaborations special is that we truly get each partner to participate in the creation of the designs, which brings a certain level of authenticity to the end-products. We refuse to put any product out for sale until they are 100 percent approved by each partner we work with. It's awesome."

Listen To FASTER PUSSYCAT's cover Of JOHNNY THUNDERS & THE HEARTBREAKERS' 'Pirate Love'FASTER PUSSYCAT's cover version of the JOHNNY THUNDERS & THE HEARTBREAKERS song "Pirate Love" can be streamed below. The track is the B-side of the band's new single, "NOLA", which will be released on May 21 in two formats: digital and a seven-inch vinyl single. The vinyl will be available exclusively via the band's web site, www.fasterpussycat.com.
For years, FASTER PUSSYCAT's aggressive touring schedule made it difficult for the band to work on new material. So when the COVID-19 pandemic hit and there were no live shows for the foreseeable future, the group immediately shifted gears and entered the studio.
"NOLA" is a song inspired by the fabulous city of New Orleans, a city that fronman Taime Downe holds dear to his heart.
When the band started working on making new music for a release, "NOLA" was the obvious choice to lead with. Downe and guitarist Sam Bam Koltun began working together in the studio, tracking guitars on what would be the first new song from the band since 2006's "The Power And The Glory Hole".
The B-side of the single is "Pirate Love", which was goes back to FASTER PUSSYCAT's club days, also Inspired by the New Orleans theme, as Thunders passed away in New Orleans in 1991, and has had a major influence on Downe and the whole band.
To celebrate the release, FASTER PUSSYCAT and ENUFF Z'NUFF are pairing up and coming "Straight Outta Quarantine" throughout North America, showing all the warts, scars and tattoos that only a package like this can, which have only grown deeper over the past year.
Featuring the MTV smash hits "House Of Pain", "New Thing", "Bathroom Wall" and "Fly High Michelle", the "Straight Outta Quarantine" tour — which has been booked and re-booked with careful consideration of each venue's COVID-19 regulations and the safety of all involved — is without question going to be one of the most long-overdue rock and roll parties of our lifetime.

ANTHRAX Bassist FRANK BELLO's Memoir, 'Fathers, Brothers, And Sons', To Be Released In OctoberRare Bird has set an October 12 release date for "Fathers, Brothers, And Sons: Surviving Anguish, Abandonment, And Anthrax" by ANTHRAX bassist Frank Bello and Joel McIver. The foreword was written by KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons.
Bello, a member of ANTHRAX since 1984, has sold over ten million albums, traveled the globe more times than he cares to count, and enthralled audiences from the world's biggest stages. His long-awaited memoir would be a gripping read even if its pages only contained stories about his life as a recording and touring musician. While those stories are indeed included — and will blow your mind — Bello also focuses on deeper subjects in "Fathers, Brothers, And Sons". Once you've heard his life story, you'll understand why.
Born into a family of five, Frank grew up in difficult circumstances. His father abandoned his wife and children, and Frank's mother moved heaven and earth to keep them fed and educated. Left with no male role model, Frank found inspiration in heavy metal bass players, following their example and forging a career with ANTHRAX from his early teens — first as a roadie, and then as the group's bass player.
International stardom came Frank's way by the mid-to-late 1980s, when he was still in his early twenties, but tragedy struck in 1996 when his brother Anthony was murdered in New York. Although the case went to trial, the suspected killer was released without charge after a witness, intimidated by violent elements, withdrew his testimony.
Two decades later, Frank is a father himself to a young son. Like many men who grew up without the guidance of a dad, he asks himself important questions about the meaning of fatherhood and how to do the job well. This is the wisdom which "Fathers, Brothers, And Sons" offers readers.
Despite the emotive nature of these topics, "Fathers, Brothers, And Sons" is a funny, entertaining read. A man with a keen sense of humor and the perspective to know how surreal his story has been, Frank doesn't preach or seek sympathy in his book. Instead, he simply passes on the wisdom gained from a lifetime of turbulence, paying tribute to his loved ones in a way that will resonate with us all.
Says Frank: "I was one in a family of five, growing up in challenging circumstances. When my father took off and abandoned us, my mother and family moved heaven and earth to keep us fed and educated. As I had no male role model, I found inspiration in — believe it or not — heavy metal bass players, and began to forge a career with ANTHRAX, first as a guitar tech, and then as the group's bass player. When I was in my mid-20s, ANTHRAX experienced international success, but then the roof caved in again in 1996, when my brother was murdered. And although the case went to trial, the only witness to the killer withdrew his testimony.
"I write this not for you to feel sympathy for me, but because, now as the father of a young son, I ask myself about the meaning of fatherhood and how to do the job well, something that's so important to me for my son. This is the wisdom that my book, 'Fathers, Brothers, And Sons' dives into. It's actually a funny, entertaining read; it's not preachy, and again, I'm not looking for sympathy. I just wanted to pass on the wisdom that I gained from a lifetime of turbulence, and by paying tribute to loved ones in a way that will resonate with them.
"This is my story."

Following a hiatus in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the benefit returned to an intimate outdoor setting at a private estate in Southern California, doubling its annual six figure goal for the Pediatric Cancer Program at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital, to also benefit MusicCares, the Festival of Children Foundation and Jesse Rees Foundation this year.

Highlights of the performances, which can be seen below, include Rick Springfield's bluesy rendition of Jimi Hendrix's "Red House".
Pat Monahan added: "I've been a part of 'Acoustic-4-A Cure' four times now because of Sammy Hagar's great big heart. Here's a man that doesn't need to be out there raising money for anyone yet he continues to do so in the beautiful form of bringing people together and celebrating music! What a great way to spend your time on stage or in the audience. Let's keep it going."
Cronin, who returned for his second time performing at the benefit said, "Playing live music with friends at Sammy's 'Acoustic-4-A Cure' and raising money for worthy causes like the Pediatric Cancer Program at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital, and one of my favorite charities, MusicCares, is the definition of a win/win for me."

MEGADETH's DAVID ELLEFSON Deactivates Twitter Account Amid Sex Video ScandalDavid Ellefson has apparently deactivated his Twitter account more than a week after the leak of the MEGADETH bassist's messages and videos featuring a woman who is not his wife.
A search for the 56-year-old musician's account on Thursday (May 20) returned the message: "This account doesn't exist". Also deactivated is Ellefson's personal Facebook page, although his official artist page on Facebook is still up. Meanwhile, Ellefson's Instagram has been set to private.
Earlier in the month, sexually tinged messages and explicit video footage involving Ellefson were posted on Twitter. The longtime MEGADETH member later released a statement on Instagram denying all social media chatter that he "groomed" an underage fan.
In his statement on May 10, Ellefson wrote: "As you may or not know, some private and personal conversations and interactions have surfaced online, released with ill intention by a third party who was not authorized to have them or share them. While certainly embarrassing, I want to address it as openly and honestly as possible.
"As much as it's not something I'm proud of, these were private, adult interactions that were taken out of context and manipulated to inflict maximum damage to my reputation, my career and family," he continued. "The other party involved has made a statement which you can see below. I thank her for doing so and hope that this clarifies that the situation was not at all as presented."
Ellefson's statement was accompanied by a screenshot of a social media post from the woman involved, who denied any suggestions that she was underage at the time. The woman also revealed she recorded the intimate moments and shared them with a friend without Ellefson's permission, calling herself "naïve" for doing so and claiming that the contact between her and the musician was "all consensual and all online." She also called assumptions that she was "groomed" by Ellefson "misinformation".
"Yes, those video calls did happen, but I was the one to initiate it and never was I underage, I was always a consenting adult. Nothing inappropriate ever happened before that. It was all consensual, I'm not a victim and I have not been groomed in the slightest as I was the one to initiate it," the woman stated.
The same day, MEGADETH said it was "aware of the recent statements regarding David Ellefson" and indicated that it was "watching developments closely." The band added: "As it relates to creativity and business, we are all familiar with one another. However, there are clearly aspects of David's private life that he has kept to himself. As this situation unfolds, it is important that all voices be heard clearly and respectfully. We look forward to the truth coming to light."
David, who became a Lutheran pastor nearly a decade ago, and his wife Julie Ellefson have been married for 27 years. They reportedly dated for six years after getting together in 1988. After two days of engagement, they married on April 2, 1994. They have two children, Roman Alexander (25) and Athena Grace (22).
Ellefson, who has lived in Scottsdale, Arizona since 1994, is also an author and entrepreneur, holding the reins of EMP Label Group, Combat Records, Ellefson Coffee Co., and more, in addition to a diverse portfolio of brands and signature products. Ellefson was also inducted into the 2018 class of the Iowa Rock N' Roll Hall Of Fame, just over the border from Jackson in Spirit Lake, Iowa.

NIKKI SIXX, ROB ZOMBIE, JOHN 5 And TOMMY CLUFETOS Launch Supergroup L.A. RATSNikki Sixx (MÖTLEY CRÜE), Rob Zombie, John 5 (ROB ZOMBIE, MARILYN MANSON) and Tommy Clufetos (OZZY OSBOURNE, BLACK SABBATH, ROB ZOMBIE) have joined forces in a new project called L.A. RATS. The quartet came together expressly to record a cover of "I've Been Everywhere" for the soundtrack to the upcoming movie "The Ice Road". "I've Been Everywhere" is a song written by Australian country singer Geoff Mack in 1959, and made popular by Lucky Starr in 1962.
The 12-song "Ice Road" soundtrack will feature covers, original songs and collaborations from artists, including Jason Isbell, Tim McGraw, THE CADILLAC THREE, Miranda Lambert, Carly Pearce and Mark Collie with Allison Moorer.
"The Ice Road", starring Liam Neeson, debuts on Netflix on June 25. The soundtrack will be released the same day. Directed by Jonathan Hensleigh ("The Punisher"), the action thriller finds Neeson starring as Mike, an ice driver sent to a rescue mission when a mine collapse leaves a group of miners trapped.
Scott Borchetta, founder and chairman of Big Machine Label Group, which will release the soundtrack, said: "That hard-charging sense of the road is a real common ground between rock, country and Americana. Musicians live the road life. They know the freedom, the speed, the gone and the get there — and every single artist on this soundtrack understands exactly why these songs have such enduring appeal."
Clufetos was a member of Zombie's band on 2006's "Educated Horses" and 2010's "Hellbilly Deluxe" albums, both of which also featured John 5.
John 5 previously worked with Sixx on the three original MÖTLEY CRÜE songs featured on the soundtrack to the band's 2019 biopic "The Dirt".

DINO CAZARES On Possibility Of Reunion Of FEAR FACTORY's Classic Lineup: 'I Don't See It For Any Amount Of Money'In a new interview with Australia's "Scars And Guitars" podcast, FEAR FACTORY guitarist Dino Cazares was asked if he thinks he could make a reunion of the band's classic lineup — including vocalist Burton C. Bell, bassist Christian Olde Wolbers and drummer Raymond Herrera — happen if "enough money was dangled in front" of them. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "Yeah, but it doesn't mean it's gonna last long. First of all, you're trying to get four guys who don't like each other together. For any amount of money, it doesn't mean it's gonna last long. It might not even make it through a whole tour. So why bother? There's too much baggage there…"
Referring to the lawsuits that were initiated by Olde Wolbers and Herrera against Cazares and Bell which led to the guitarist and the singer filing separately for bankruptcy, Dino said: "Lives were ruined. Lives were changed. Lives were at jeopardy. Careers were at jeopardy because of these lawsuits, and stuff like that. So, whether anybody can forgive each other for that, that's a whole other thing. I don't know. I don't see it for any amount of money. But if we did do it for the money, would that be fair, when there's no charisma on stage, no one wants to be there? Would that be fair to the fans? I don't think so."
Cazares went on to say that he understands the fans' enthusiasm for getting original members back together. "Of course, it's like a Fantasy Football League — you wanna put your favorite band together, your favorite team together," he said. "That's all it is. It's a Fantasy Football League, and that's all it is. And it's gonna remain a fantasy for now. I'm never gonna say never, 'cause you never know what's gonna happen. But I can say now, to get four members that don't wanna be with each other, don't wanna hang around each other, don't wanna be on the same stage with each other… It wouldn't be fair."
According to Dino, he and Bell made an attempt several years ago to reform FEAR FACTORY's classic lineup but were rebuffed by Olde Wolbers and Herrera. "We actually have tried to sit down and have conversations about mediation, about trying to put the band back together," he said. "That was something that me and Burton were actually offering to those guys to come back, but their demands were just insanely stupid; it was so high that nobody would benefit from it. So that idea got tossed out way back in 2015 — six years ago."
After FEAR FACTORY disbanded in 2002, the band reformed in the same year without Cazares, but with Olde Wolbers moving to guitar duties and Byron Stroud being brought in on bass. That lineup made two albums — 2004's "Archetype" and 2005's "Transgression" — and then took a break. Meanwhile, Cazares formed the band DIVINE HERESY and recorded two albums with the group before rekindling his friendship with Bell and launching a new version of FEAR FACTORY, also featuring Stroud and acclaimed extreme metal drummer Gene Hoglan.
FEAR FACTORY has made four albums since splitting with Olde Wolbers and Herrera: "Mechanize" (2010), "The Industrialist" (2012), "Genexus" (2015) and the upcoming "Aggression Continuum".
"Aggression Continuum" will arrive on June 18 via Nuclear Blast Records. The LP features Cazares, Bell and drummer Mike Heller.
Last September, Bell issued a statement officially announcing his departure from FEAR FACTORY, saying that he "cannot align" himself with someone whom he does not trust or respect.
Bell's exit from FEAR FACTORY came more than two weeks after Cazares launched a GoFundMe campaign to assist him with the production costs associated with the release of FEAR FACTORY's long-awaited new LP.
Bell later told Kerrang! magazine that his split with FEAR FACTORY was a long time coming. "It's been on my mind for a while," he said. "These lawsuits [over the rights to the FEAR FACTORY name] just drained me. The egos. The greed. Not just from bandmembers, but from the attorneys involved. I just lost my love for it.
"With FEAR FACTORY, it's just constantly been, like, 'What?!' You can only take so much. I felt like 30 years was a good run. Those albums I've done with FEAR FACTORY will always be out there. I'll always be part of that. I just felt like it was time to move forward."
Pressed about whether there is any chance of a reconciliation with FEAR FACTORY down the line, Burton said: "I'm done. I haven't spoken to Dino in three years. I haven't spoken to Raymond [Herrera, drums] and Christian [Olde Wolbers, bass] in longer than that, and I have no intention to. I'm just moving forward with my life."
In October, Dino issued a statement in which he said that the door for Burton to come back to FEAR FACTORY wouldn't "stay open forever." The guitarist also revealed that Burton "lost his legal rights" to the FEAR FACTORY name "after a long court battle" with Herrera and Olde Wolbers. "I had the opportunity to do something right, and I felt that obtaining the name in full was the right thing to do for the both of us, so after nearly four years we can continue as FEAR FACTORY, to make more records and to tour," he said. "That is why it is sad to hear that he decided to quit and, in my opinion, for whatever issues he has it seems like it could've been worked out."

MEGADETH's DAVE MUSTAINE Teaches You How To Play 'Symphony Of Destruction' (Video)Video footage of MEGADETH's Dave Mustaine teaching you how to play the band's classic song "Symphony Of Destruction" can be seen below. The clip was apparently filmed at the April 2018 edition of the Rock 'N' Roll Fantasy Camp in Los Angeles, California but was only now uploaded to YouTube (courtesy of registered user "HYPERSONICCHAOS HYPERSONICCHAOS").
Rock 'N' Roll Fantasy Camp is a non-competitive atmosphere designed for all levels of musicians and music enthusiasts. Participants are placed in bands with like-minded people and skill level to make for an off-the-charts experience.
Some of the campers play well and even gave up careers as musicians to become CEOs and lawyers. Some campers can't play at all. What they all have in common is passion for rock music. At Rock 'N' Roll Fantasy Camp, they all get to pursue their passion — and meet, and play with the artists who became the soundtrack of their lives.
Mustaine will next appear at the November 2021 Rock 'N' Roll Fantasy Camp in Hollywood, Florida. Also scheduled to take part in the event are Steve Morse (DEEP PURPLE, DIXIE DREGS) and Richie Faulkner (JUDAS PRIEST).
Earlier this week, MEGADETH commented on speculation surrounding bassist David Ellefson's intimate involvement in communications with a woman other than his wife.
Last weekend, sexually tinged messages and explicit video footage involving the 56-year-old musician were leaked on Twitter. Ellefson later released a statement on Instagram denying all social media chatter that he "groomed" an underage fan. The woman in question also confirmed in her own post that the video calls between them did take place, but that she was the one to initiate them and that she was never underage when they happened.
On Monday, MEGADETH said that it was "aware of the recent statements regarding David Ellefson" and indicated that it was "watching developments closely." The band added: "As it relates to creativity and business, we are all familiar with one another.
They have two children, Roman Alexander (25) and Athena Grace (22).

MINEFIELD Featuring TODD KERNS Release Lyric Video For "Day By Day"Minefield - featuring Brandon Fields (vocals / guitar), Todd Kerns (vocals / bass), Jeremy Asbrock (vocals / guitar), and Matt Starr (drums) - released their debut album earlier this month. Now, the band has issued a lyric video for the song "Day By Day".
During an exclusive interview with BraveWords scribe Aaron Small, Minefield vocalist / bassist Todd Kerns talked about the lyrical inspiration for "Day By Day" saying, “That was a fun one because Brandon (Fields - guitarist) had this riff, and we needed another song. It was one of those last minute things that you come up with. It has this old, Dressed To Kill-era KISS vibe to it for me. There’s a line in there that mentions a place called Nothing, Arizona – ‘I’m going to the desert they won’t find me anymore, maybe Nothing, Arizona, population four.’ I had seen some film and it had the sign as they were pulling into Nothing, Arizona, and it just said four. If you Google it now, it’s population zero. There’s a whole series of these cities, it’s such a sad story really – seniors living in vans and Winnebagos because they’ve had tragedies and lost their homes. There’s a place up in northeast Nevada called Empire. In January, the mill that was the main industry in that town closed. By June, it no longer had a zip code. Holy cow! It’s weird to imagine towns just being gone. I just came across Nothing, Arizona. The town was so small it was called Nothing; it’s a real place. So much of my life is ‘autobiographical.’ When you look at songs like, ‘It’s Not You It’s Me’, I can tell you pretty much exactly what was going on. Or, ‘Goin’ To Vegas’ is a classic! I was literally going to Vegas. I was going off to the desert and you won’t find me anymore; that’s basically what I did with my life. Unfortunately – or fortunately – trying to disappear in the desert didn’t happen; it was quite the opposite.”
The self-titled set also includes a cover of "All American Man", originally done by KISS, which can be enjoyed below.
Secure your copy of Minefield now at this location. The artwork and tracklisting are as follows:
Tracklisting:
"Alone Together"
"Seventh Heaven"

"Hide Your Lyin"

Brandon Fields has spent the last several years touring as a solo artist. He is also the lead guitarist in Detroit, Michigan based band Whiskey A Go Go.
Todd Kerns has served as the bassist in Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators since 2010. Kerns also fronted Canadian rock groups The Age Of Electric and Static In Stereo, he presently serves as the singer / guitarist in Toque.
Jeremy Asbrock is currently the guitarist in former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley’s solo band. Before this, Asbrock was in Gene Simmons’ solo band as well.
Matt Starr has been a staple in Ace Frehley’s solo band for the last decade while also playing with the supergroup Mr. Big.
Prior to the release of "All American Man", Minefield shared four songs from their self-titled debut. Check out "Alone Together", "Home", "Seventh Heaven", and "Hide Your Lyin":

MÖTLEY CRÜE: Trailer For Digital Remaster Of 'Girls, Girls, Girls' AlbumIn November 1981, rock 'n' roll legends MÖTLEY CRÜE stormed into the cultural zeitgeist with the release of their debut album "Too Fast For Love", setting the stage for what would become one of the most iconic careers ever in music. This year, the band is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a special series of music re-releases and fan activations, revisiting its globally acclaimed catalog. The first release will be a digital remastering of MÖTLEY CRÜE's smash 1987 album "Girls, Girls, Girls". The groundbreaking body of work features hits "Wild Side", "You're All I Need" and the title track "Girls Girls Girls", which became a global success, despite the original uncensored video being banned by MTV. True to the band's play-by-their-own-rules ideology that has given a safe space for millions of fans all over the world to express themselves freely, the video was named "one of the most NSFW (not safe for work) videos of all time" by Rolling Stone in 2011.
A trailer the upcoming digital remastering of "Girls, Girls, Girls" is available below.
Fans can now pre-order this special remastered digital edition of "Girls, Girls, Girls" album ahead of its release on Friday, June 11, 2021. Further releases to be announced soon.
It was January 17, 1981 when bassist Nikki Sixx first jammed with drummer Tommy Lee and vocalist/guitarist Greg Leon. Leon left, and Mick Mars and Vince Neil were recruited. The rest, as they say, is history…
Nikki recently said about CRÜE's 40th anniversary: "In 'Kickstart My Heart', the lyrics say, 'When we started this band / All we needed, needed was a laugh / Years gone by, I'd say we've kicked some ass.'
"It's always been about great songs and over-the-top live shows for us. The fans were always right by our side. I don't know where all of the years went. It went by in a flash. What I can't forget are the four decades of fans who have counted themselves as Crüeheads from day one, supporting us through thick and thin. To them we are in debt and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
"Happy 40th birthday to us all.”
Neil, Sixx, Mars and Lee are firmly ingrained in the fabric of rock history. MÖTLEY CRÜE has sold over 100 million albums worldwide, achieving seven USA platinum and multi-platinum albums, 22 Top 40 mainstream rock hits, six Top 20 pop singles and three Grammy nominations.
The band has had 1.6 billion streams across digital providers and has over 8 million social media followers. In 2006, the band was inducted into the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.
A stunning live act, MÖTLEY CRÜE has taken its incendiary show across the world, selling over 100 million tickets globally.
The band's biography "The Dirt: Confessions Of The World's Most Notorious Rock Band", first published in 2001, became a New York Times best-seller and has sold over one million copies worldwide. In addition, the band members have authored three other New York Times best-sellers.
2019 saw "The Dirt" released as a feature-length biopic. The film became one of the biggest releases of that year and scored a 94% positive audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The band remains a huge global draw. MÖTLEY CRÜE is set to co-headline a nearly sold-out North American stadium tour with DEF LEPPARD, POISON and Joan Jett.
MÖTLEY CRÜE's legacy and influence in the global music scene cannot be underestimated. 2021 is the year to celebrate the achievements of this extraordinary band.

ALTER BRIDGE To Record New Album In 2022ALTER BRIDGE guitarist Mark Tremonti has told The Spokesman-Review that the band will reconvene in 2022 to record a new album. "That's the plan," he said. "Myles [Kennedy, ALTER BRIDGE frontman] has his solo album, and I have mine. We'll eventually get together as ALTER BRIDGE. We're looking forward to recording and touring."
Two months ago, Myles told the "Lipps Service With Scott Lipps" podcast that ALTER BRIDGE hasn't started working on material for the follow-up to 2019's "Walk The Sky" album. "We are not yet," he said. "I think everybody's kind of hunkered down in their own solo project. I know Mark Tremonti is in that world right now. Obviously, I've got [my second solo album coming out]. So I would say we'll start thinking about that more towards the end of the year, early next year. Speaking for myself as a writer, I need to refill the creative well. Having done the ALTER BRIDGE record, and then the second solo record, I need to get those creative juices built back up again."
ALTER BRIDGE released a seven-song EP, "Walk The Sky 2.0", last November via Napalm Records. The effort contains live versions of a few of the band's favorites from "Walk The Sky" — "Wouldn't You Rather", "Pay No Mind", "Native Son", "Godspeed", "In The Deep" and "Dying Light" — as well as one new studio track, "Last Rites", which was written, recorded and completed entirely during the COVID-19 lockdown.
"Walk The Sky" came out in October 2019 via Napalm Records.
Myles released his sophomore solo album, "The Ides Of March", on May 14 via Napalm Records

HIRAES Feat. Former DAWN OF DISEASE Members Release "Solitary" Music VideoAfter recently signing with Napalm Records and Napalm Events, German based melodic death metal unit, Hiraes, is set to drop its first sonic monster with ultimate strength: Their debut offering, Solitary, will be released on June 25.
Watch the band's new video, for the album's title track, below. Heavy-driven riffs evoke a dark and explosive melodic death metal storm fueled by a fierce growling attack, dropping jaws and leaving a long-lasting impression.
Hiraes impressively combines the full force of all four instrumentalists formerly of Dawn Of Disease (Lukas Kerk, Oliver Kirchner, Christian Wösten and Mathias Blässe) with the powerful vocals of Britta Görtz (Critical Mess, ex-Cripper) to create an exciting new melodic death emergence.
Hiraes already established its own remarkable identity built upon a smashing femme vocal attack, intense melodies and charging guitars, led by guitarist Lukas Kerk as main songwriter. An atmospheric, instrumental intro introduces the album opener “Shadows Break'', whilst showcasing the impressive vocal onslaught of seasoned frontwoman Britta Görtz shortly after. “Grain Of Sand” sets the next exclamation mark while delivering an unrelenting attack of smashing riffs along with an inexorable vocal performance, followed by standouts such as brutal “1000 Lights”, razor-sharp “Eyes Over Black'' and fast-twitching title-track “Solitary”, proving that Hiraes don’t decelerate for a second.
This massive melodic death metal assault leaves no scope for weakness and serves an exciting take on the genre with hymnlike melodies, enthralling drums and guitar riffing as well as breathtaking hooklines. Topped with the distinctive and versatile performance of Britta Görtz, this powerful new formation and its debut, Solitary, is a must have for fans of bands like Insomnium, At The Gates, Arch Enemy and Amon Amarth.
Hiraes say about the album: “Our debut album Solitary is the result of the collaboration of five musicians who burn with passion for melodic death metal. With its incredible emotional energy, it will captivate fans of the genre in no time. Hymn-like melodies and catchy riffing meet versatile drumming and the very varied growls of our singer Britta. The result is a unique blend of the best that melodic death metal has to offer. Rounded off by stunning sound, refined at Fascination Street Studios under the direction of Jens Bogren, and strong artwork by Costin Chioreanu, we are really more than satisfied with our first album. We can't wait to finally present Solitary to the metal community on June 25, 2021!”
Solitary will be available in the following formats:

- 1 LP Gatefold Black

SAMMY HAGAR And CHAD KROEGER Cover STEVE MILLER's 'Fly Like An Eagle' With Afghan GirlsAfter the runaway success of their unique take on the EURYTHMICS' "Sweet Dreams" in 2020, the Miraculous Love Kids / Girl With A Guitar, led by founder Lanny Cordola, have recorded "Fly Like An Eagle" with singers Sammy Hagar (VAN HALEN, THE CIRCLE, CHICKENFOOT) and Chad Kroeger (NICKELBACK). Also featured on the STEVE MILLER classic is bassist Nathan East (Stevie Wonder, Phil Collins, Eric Clapton), keyboardist Rami Jaffee (FOO FIGHTERS, WALLFLOWERS, SOUL ASYLUM), keyboardist Gary Griffin (BRIAN WILSON, THE BEACH BOYS), drummer Kris Myers (UMPHREY'S MCGEE) and guitarist Todd Shea.
In 2020, the Miraculous Love Kids / Girl With A Guitar teamed up with guitarist Tom Morello (RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, AUDIOSLAVE), keyboardist Rami Jaffee (FOO FIGHTERS), bassist Kathy Valentine (THE GO-GO'S), guitarist Vicki Peterson (THE BANGLES), singer Cherie Currie (THE RUNAWAYS), guitarist Wayne Kramer (MC5), drummer Kris Myers (UMPHREY'S MCGEE), along with singer Inara George and multi-instrumentalist Greg Kurstin of THE BIRD AND THE BEE, to record a version of "Sweet Dreams" with unprecedented depth and dimension.
For 2021, Cordola connected with Hagar, a force of pure rock and roll goodness. On this sonic prayer for a more compassionate humanity, the singer's role in getting the message of the Miraculous Love Kids / Girl With A Guitar movement to the forefront of global awareness is a win-win for everyone.
"I'm proud of what you're doing," the onetime VAN HALEN frontman told the group after completing his vocal track. "Stay strong and fly like an eagle…"
Cordola reflects on why this song was chosen: "The simple yet powerful message behind 'Fly Like An Eagle' has never been more relevant and important, especially in war-torn, poverty-stricken places like Afghanistan. With its urgent call to 'feed the babies who have no food to eat, shoe the children with no shoes on their feet, house the people living in the street,' the eagle surveys the landscape and realizes that none of us can truly be free until we address the most pressing matters of the human condition — food, clothing, and shelter."
The girls featured in this video have all suffered from the wreckage of poverty, war, discrimination and other hardships. They have worked the mean streets of Kabul and witnessed firsthand the debris of human cruelty and indifference. Now, through the power of love and music, there is hope, joy and truth emanating from every fiber of their being.
"Fly Like An Eagle" is dedicated to the nearly 100 Afghan girls who died in a recent school bomb attack in Kabul.
Music at its highest level gives rise to these fundamental human creeds and to the philosophy of the Miraculous Love Kids: "It shouldn't hurt to be a child."
According to the United Nations, over 20,000 children perish every day because of poverty and war. The goal of the Miraculous Love Kids / Girl With A Guitar is to help end this horrible human catastrophe.
The Miraculous Love Kids is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization established by Cordola.
For more information and to make a donation, go to miraculouslovekids.org.
Cordola began his journey through Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iraq in 2010, collaborating with musicians on a peace-through-music project. "After visiting and meeting many kids who were living in poverty stricken areas and conflict zones, I decided to raise funds on their behalf," the musician recalls.
Since then, he has focused on musical projects aimed at raising awareness, resources and funds for some of the most vulnerable children in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iraq. In the wake of his work in these regions, he formed his own non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization called The Miraculous Love Kids, based on the premise that "it shouldn't hurt to be a child" and "that a kid with a melody in their heart has hope, and with hope all things are possible."
On September 8, 2012, sisters Parwana and Korshid were killed by a suicide bomber in Kabul, Afghanistan. The intended target was U.S. military forces. According to the troops who were there, the sisters sacrificed their own lives to save them.
During a visit to the region in 2014, Lanny met with the sisters' family, including their younger sibling Mursal, who had survived the attack. The family was living in absolute squalor, but when Mursal saw the guitar that constantly accompanies Lanny, she brightened up and asked if he would teach her to play so she could honor her sisters and other girls living in similar conditions. And with that, The Miraculous Love Kids/Girl With A Guitar was born.
In February 2016, Lanny moved to Kabul, Afghanistan, where he and Mursal presently teach guitar, English, and other life skills to hundreds of mostly girls at their Miraculous Love Kids studio.

FOREIGNER's THOM GIMBEL Officially Leaves Band After Nearly Three Decades: 'It's Time For Me To Finally Stop Touring'FOREIGNER multi-instrumentalist Thom Gimbel has officially announced his departure from the legendary rock act.
Earlier today, Gimbel released the following statement: "Today I'd like to share with everyone that after almost 30 years with FOREIGNER, I've decided it's time for me to finally stop touring, and try to settle myself down.
"I'm deeply, eternally grateful to Mick, Lou and Kelly, and the entire, incredible FOREIGNER family, years past and present.
"My sincerest thanks to everyone involved, especially our fans, for rocking with us throughout the years! I will miss you. But, I hope to see ya out there someday, somewhere. Perhaps at a fundraising golf tournament, or at a FOREIGNER concert, where hopefully I will occasionally be there to rock out with the band, which now includes our old friend, a phenomenal talent, Luis Carlos Maldonado. He has joined the FOREIGNER family, and it is sounding amazing!
"Live concerts have started again. Mick, Kelly & FOREIGNER are rocking heavily, as always. I hope you get a chance to check them out and enjoy FOREIGNER's awesome, timeless music.
"Deepest, heartfelt gratitude and love, Tom Gimbel".
Gimbel is known as FOREIGNER's jack-of-all-trades guitarist, saxophonist, flutist and keyboardist. He initially joined the group in 1992 but left to tour with AEROSMITH before returning to FOREIGNER in 1995.
Gimbel's plan to exit FOREIGNER was first revealed by his bandmate, FOREIGNER bassist Jeff Pilson, in a March 2021 interview with Rocking With Jam Man.
Speaking about the fact that FOREIGNER occasionally plays shows without any original member members — including founding guitarist Mick Jones — Pilson said: "It is really all about the music, and especially with FOREIGNER. FOREIGNER was never any kind of an image band at all, and that's actually worked to our advantage now in these later years where can tour — and we can tour without Mick — because the music is so strong that it is more about the music than it is about the personnel. And I think that's kind of cool."
Asked if Gimbel is now the longest-serving member of FOREIGNER, Pilson said: "Besides Mick Jones, yes. [But] Mick doesn't do all shows with us. So when [Mick's] not playing, Thom is [the longest-serviving member]. However, Thom is actually gonna be leaving the band. He's had some experiences. I mean, he's ready to get off the road at some point. So, maybe then I'll be the longest-serving member."
FOREIGNER's last album, "Can't Slow Down", was the only full-length collection of new songs to have been released by the band since Kelly Hansen took over vocals after original singer Lou Gramm left the band for good in 2002. The album entered the Billboard Top 30, driven by the radio singles "In Pieces" and "When It Comes To Love". The band also has released a series of live albums and compilations, including 2016's "In Concert: Unplugged" and 2017's "40".
FOREIGNER's current lineup is rounded out by Michael Bluestein (keyboards), Chris Frazier (drums) and Bruce Watson (guitar).
Pilson — one-fourth of the classic DOKKEN lineup — joined FOREIGNER in 2004.
Today I’d like to share with everyone that after almost 30 years with Foreigner, I’ve decided it’s time for me to...

Active over the past five decades, Anthrax has released 11 studio albums, been awarded multiple Gold and Platinum certifications, received six Grammy nominations, toured the world since 1984 playing thousands of shows, including headlining Madison Square Garden and playing Yankee Stadium with The Big 4. Twenty-twenty-one marks Anthrax's 40th anniversary, during which time the band has released 11 studio albums, been awarded multiple Gold and Platinum certifications, six Grammy nominations, and a host of other accolades from the media, the music industry, and fans. In 1991, the band helped break down race and genre barriers when they collaborated with Public Enemy on the track "Bring The Noise," and was the first metal band to have its music heard on Mars when NASA played "Got The Time" to wake up the Mars Rover in 2012.
Along with Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth, Anthrax is a card-carrying member of The Big Four, the four bands that defined the speed/thrash/metal genre. Anthrax has also introduced a series now sold-out signature whiskeys and bourbons and partnered with the Stockholm-based NEZUMI Studios for a high-end, limited-edition Baleine dive watch.
Twenty-twenty-one will see the release of Z2 Comics' "Among The Living" graphic novel with a track-by-track storyline inspired by Anthrax's iconic 1987 album, Among The Living. The book pulls together a "who's who" of names from the worlds of comics and music who created "bubble dialogue" and original artwork to express what the songs meant to them. Taking advantage of COVID-19's prohibition of concert touring, the band has been hard at work writing the next Anthrax album.

MÖTLEY CRÜE's NIKKI SIXX Is Recording New MusicNikki Sixx is working on new music.
The MÖTLEY CRÜE and SIXX:A.M. bassist, who has spent most of the last few months in his new home in Wyoming, took to his Twitter on Tuesday (May 18) to write: "Back in Los Angeles to record a few new tracks, drop something new this week and finish my book."
CRÜE hasn't released any new music since putting out four new songs on the soundtrack to the band's 2019 biopic "The Dirt". "The Dirt Soundtrack" included the single "The Dirt (Est. 1981) (feat. Machine Gun Kelly)" and CRÜE's unlikely cover of Madonna's "Like A Virgin".
Sixx's last book, "This Is Gonna Hurt: Photography And Life Through The Distorted Lens Of Nikki Sixx", came out in 2011 via William Morrow. A tribute to Sixx's institutionalized sister, the book explored what true beauty is and embraced our own power around that. Written entirely by Nikki with no ghostwriter, the book was part journal, part memoir, part social commentary and featured his original photography.
"This Is Gonna Hurt: Music, Photography And Life Through The Distorted Lens Of Nikki Sixx" was the follow-up to Sixx's 2007 New York Times bestseller "The Heroin Diaries: A Year In The Life Of A Shattered Rock Star".
"The Heroin Diaries" was supposedly taken from actual journals Sixx kept in the late 1980s while in the grip of a near-fatal heroin addiction, was originally released in September 2007 via MTV Pocketbooks/Simon & Schuster and debuted at No. 7 on the New York Times Book Review non-fiction best-seller list.
When "The Heroin Diaries: A Year In The Life Of A Shattered Rock Star" was published, it was accompanied by a soundtrack by Sixx's side-project SIXX:A.M. Titled "The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack", it featured collaborations with vocalist James Michael and former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist DJ Ashba.
Back in Los Angeles to record a few new tracks, drop something new this week and finish my book.

SCOTT ROCKENFIELD Shares Demo Version Of QUEENSRŸCHE Song 'Toxic Remedy'Scott Rockenfield has posted a demo version of the QUEENSRŸCHE song "Toxic Remedy" on his recently launched Queensryche2021.com web site. The final version of the track was included on the band's 2015 album "Condition Hüman", which marked QUEENSRŸCHE's second studio release with Todd La Torre, who replaced original singer Geoff Tate in 2012.
When he first went public with his new web site earlier in the month, Scott — who hasn't performed with QUEENSRŸCHE in more than four years — took to his Facebook page to write: "R ya READY TO F***in' ROCK !!!?? ....I AM !!!!!!! -- bruhahahha... www.queensryche2021.com *Welcome to the New World * Join the Legion".
A posting on Scott's web site promises "brand new music," "exclusive new merchandise," "limited-edition collectibles" and "rare music from the [QUEENSRŸCHE] archives." It also lists the members of QUEENSRŸCHE as Rockenfield, guitarist Michael Wilton and bassist Eddie Jackson.
Rockenfield's latest social media activity came four months after he shot down suggestions that he quit QUEENSRŸCHE or retired from playing music. In January, the drummer shared an update on Facebook in which he said that fans "have not been given the facts by any means" and implied that he would offer more details at a later date.
Scott's January 2021 comments marked the first time he had publicly addressed his status with QUEENSRŸCHE, which has used former KAMELOT drummer Casey Grillo for touring purposes since April 2017.
This past February, La Torre was asked during an appearance on "The Eddie Trunk Podcast" if anybody in QUEENSRŸCHE has heard directly from Scott regarding his status with the group. He responded: "Not to my knowledge. All I can tell you is he took paternity leave, saying he would be gone for about six months, and that was four years ago. [Laughs] Casey shows up every day. He shows up to songwrite, he shows up to record, if needed, and he shows up for the live gigs. So that's all that I can tell you. I haven't communicated with [Scott] in years. So I have no idea what he's up to. I couldn't even tell you."
When DJ Eddie Trunk said that he heard from Rockenfield two years ago and that the drummer expressed an interest at the time in telling his story, La Torre replied: "I don't know what story there is to tell. People ask, but, honestly, it is literally like déjà vu. Go play the answer I gave you four years ago, because, literally, nothing has changed.
"As far as I understand, there really isn't communication [between Scott and the QUEENSRŸCHE camp]. And I couldn't tell you anything more than that. Some people think, 'They're not telling us more.' I don't have anything to say, 'cause I don't talk to him; he doesn't talk to me. Casey's been playing with us for four years — going on four years — and he shows up. The guy is doing an awesome job.
"I guess I'd revert back to you," Todd continued. "If you left your radio show saying that you needed six months paternity leave but you never communicated when you were coming back for four years, would the radio station stop running because you quit showing up to work? And keep in mind, you weren't fired, and you didn't give official written notice that you're never gonna come back; you just don't come back or communicate. Does your key still work? Is your name on the door? Or are they gonna find adequate talent replacement to keep things going?
"So I don't have anything bad to say," La Torre clarified. "I don't really have anything to say, other than he asked for paternity leave and just hasn't come back."
The drum tracks on QUEENSRŸCHE's latest album, 2019's "The Verdict", were laid down by La Torre.
Last year, former QUEENSRŸCHE singer Geoff Tate expressed his doubt that Rockenfield will ever play drums again, telling Metal Rules that Scott "has a lot of medical problems and things like that now." In 2019, Tate told 88.1FM WESU's weekly syndicated radio show "Noize In The Attic" that he was "pretty sure" Scott "didn't leave" QUEENSRŸCHE of his own accord. "I can tell you that there's lawsuits involved; I know that," he said. "He's in kind of a really dark place, and I hope he gets some help, 'cause he's really unraveled, you know? In my opinion. It's too bad — he's an incredibly talented drummer, and unfortunately, he never was happy with that. It wasn't good enough for him."
La Torre is currently selling one of four remaining pairs of drum sticks that were used by Rockenfield during the drum recordings of QUEENSRŸCHE's 2013 self-titled al

STÖNER Feat. Former KYUSS Members BRANT BJORK And NICK OLIVERI: Debut Album Details RevealedSTÖNER will release its debut studio album, "Stoners Rule", on June 25 via Heavy Psych Sounds. The disc's first single, "Nothin'", can be streamed below.
STÖNER is the supergroup formed by desert rock godfathers and long-time compadres Brant Bjork (founding member of KYUSS, also former member of FU MANCHU), Nick Oliveri (MONDO GENERATOR, former member of KYUSS, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE) and Ryan Güt. The outcome of this desert reunion is "Stoners Rule", a high-class, groovy and rousing seven-track effort driven by the spirit of these true legends.
The sound is mellow, yet these are the same guys who created the legend of KYUSS as well as the desert and stoner rock movement, which is alive now more than ever. "Stoners Rule" is a celebration of the sound of the Desert, the perfect soundtrack for a ride across the dusty roads of the Mojave Desert, where it has all begun.
Brant told Outlaws Of The Sun about how STÖNER came together: "Nick called me up and wanted to jam. So we got together and we were having a blast and this felt right. It was cool all of us playing together. It felt like we were kids starting out again just playing for the fun of it without any outside pressure.
"We all put our musical influences into this via original jam sessions," he added. "This feels like a mixture of punk rock, metal, blues rock and hard rock. Some stuff we're already known for and some stuff that will surprise and hopefully entertain people."
Brant went on to call STÖNER "a full-time thing. We've got long-term plans for STÖNER and the music that we create. We're booking tour dates for 2022 onwards in Europe and possibly in the United States. Those plans are in the hands of our booking agents but we've been told the pandemic should be under more control next year and more areas will be open up for live performances to happen."
According to Bjork, "it's been nothing but fun playing with Nick and my drummer Ryan Güt. I wanted to do something different and STÖNER allowed me the opportunity to do this," he said. "This project feels right for me especially during the pandemic. It feels good vibing new ideas off Nick, who is one of my closest friends and I can't wait to perform these new songs to a live audience. As I feel these songs deserve to be heard by a live audience."
"Stoners Rule" was recorded at The Rad Cabin in Joshua Tree, California in October 2020 by Yosef Sanborn. Cover art was designed by Branca Studio.
"Stoners Rule" track listing:
01. Rad Stays Rad
02. The Older Kids
03. Own Yer Blues
04. Nothin'
05. Evel Never Dies
06. Stand Down
07. Tribe / Fly Girl

Paul Stanley recently told Rolling Stone magazine that KISS has every intention of resuming its "End Of The Road" tour once the pandemic has subsided. "Totally," he said. "We were 120 shows into it and having a ball [when the pandemic began]. I mean, most of the time when you lose somebody or the situation changes, you find yourself saying, 'Gee, if I had only known,' whereas here, you have a situation where we've come to the conclusion that we can't continue [as a touring band]. It's not feasible. If we were wearing jeans and T-shirts, we could do this into our eighties or nineties, but we're carrying around 40 and 50 pounds of gear for a couple of hours. There's an age factor, which makes it more real for people who may have doubted the idea of the 'end of the road.'But that in mind, it gives us a night with people where we really get to share what we built together. … So the 'End Of The Road', I don't see it as bittersweet. I see it as sweet. And will there be tears? Sure. But oh, my God, look what we've been given. And from what the fans say, look what we gave them. It's unlike other bands."
KISS's farewell trek was launched in January 2019 and was originally scheduled to conclude on July 17, 2021 in New York City but is now expected to last well into 2022.
Last December, bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons told the 95.5 KLOS radio station that KISS has "a hundred and fifty" shows left in its "End Of The Road" tour, including a stop at "the coldest place on earth."
KISS last performed this past New Year's Eve in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The concert broke Guinness world records for highest flame projection in a music concert and for most flame projections launched simultaneously in a music concert.
KISS's current lineup consists of original members Stanley and Simmons, alongside later band additions, guitarist Tommy Thayer (since 2002) and drummer Eric Singer (on and off since 1991).
Formed in 1973 by Stanley, Simmons, Peter Criss (drums) and Ace Frehley (guitar), KISS staged its first "farewell" tour in 2000, the last to feature the group's original lineup.
In its 48-year career, KISS has accumulated 23 gold and platinum albums — more than any other U.S. band.

MARIA BRINK And ANDY BIERSACK Team Up For 'Meet Me In The Fire' From 'Dark Nights: Death Metal Soundtrack' (Audio)Maria Brink (IN THIS MOMENT) has released her epic new collaboration with acclaimed artist/producer Tyler Bates, featuring vocals by Andy Biersack (BLACK VEIL BRIDES), from the forthcoming "Dark Nights: Death Metal Soundtrack", out digitally on June 18 via Loma Vista Recordings (physical LPs out July 16). Listen to "Meet Me In The Fire (feat. Andy Biersack)" below.
"It's such an honor to be a part of this soundtrack," says Brink. "I love collaborating with talented people and getting the chance to be creative. Tyler Bates is such an amazing talent and I have loved doing a track with him and Andy Biersack. I think our fans will love this and I hope everyone likes what we created."
"Meet Me In The Fire (Feat. Andy Biersack)" follows last week's announcement of the "Dark Nights: Death Metal Soundtrack" alongside its lead single, MASTODON's "Forged By Neron". The soundtrack, executive produced by Bates ("Guardians Of The Galaxy", "Watchmen", "John Wick"), is available for pre-order on digital download, CD, and 2xLP-with exclusive Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman vinyl variant covers, 11 limited-edition character trading cards, and more.
Just as the lauded DC "Dark Nights: Death Metal" series isn't the typical superhero storyline, this musical counterpart isn't the typical superhero soundtrack. Acclaimed composer Bates here unites an array of artists across various genres — including MASTODON, Denzel Curry, MANCHESTER ORCHESTRA, Chelsea Wolfe, IDLES and SOCCER MOMMY — forming his own musical super crew to create a first-of-its kind companion piece of original music, which adds further dimension to the acclaimed series through a multimedia experience including custom limited-edition comics, videos, and more.
All artists involved took a hands-on approach with "Dark Nights: Death Metal Soundtrack", contributing songs — and in the case of a few, collaborating together for the first time — inspired by the text that depicts a hellish Earth twisted beyond recognition, wherein the Justice League is at the mercy of the Dark Multiverse and a diabolical Batman Who Laughs.
Additionally, DC and Loma Vista Recordings will announce special edition soundtrack variants of "Dark Nights: Death Metal" issues 1-3, featuring RISE AGAINST, Denzel Curry and GREY DAZE (the late Chester Bennington's pre-LINKIN PARK band) on custom comic covers, and released alongside each artist's respective flexi singles.
"This soundtrack and motion-comic series was made by fans of comics, for fans of comics and music," enthuses Bates, who is beloved for his previous soundtrack work on several of the most influential superhero/graphic novel films of modern times. "'Dark Nights: Death Metal' is next-level storytelling by two incredibly talented artists in Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo. The visual aspect of this comic is entirely compelling, and resonates throughout each song on the soundtrack."
"Dark Nights: Death Metal Soundtrack" track listing:
01. MASTODON - "Forged by Neron"
02. CHELSEA WOLFE - "Diana"
03. HEALTH, Tyler Bates - "ANTI-LIFE (feat. Chino Moreno)"
04. MARIA BRINK, TYLER BATES - "Meet Me In The Fire (feat. Andy Biersack)"
05. GREY DAZE - "Anything, Anything"
06. RISE AGAINST - "Broken Dreams, Inc."
07. MANCHESTER ORCHESTRA - "Never Ending"
08. DENZEL CURRY, PLAYTHATBOIZAY - "Bad Luck"

VULTURE's Dealin' Death Unboxed; VideoThis Friday, May 21, Vulture will release their new album, Dealin' Death, via Metal Blade Records. Check out this unboxing video:
When it comes to contemporary thrash, there are few bands that can stand toe-to-toe with Germany's Vulture. Establishing their status with 2016's Victim To The Blade EP and 2017's The Guillotine, then cementing their reputation with 2019's Ghastly Waves And Battered Graves, they now return with the mighty Dealin' Death, one of the most ruthless records the genre has seen.
"Take all our key elements - fierce riffing, halftone-shifts, aggressive vocals, huge toms, changing dynamics, horror-synths and classical twin guitar harmonies and cast it in a mould, then you have 'Dealin' Death'," says guitarist Stefan Castevet. "The result sounds a little 'back to the EP-ish' to my ears, yet it contains new approaches that we've never included in our sound so far, like choirs with harmonies."
When it was time for the band to head into the studio, the recording process was handled by two separate collaborators: the album recorded at Monkey Moon Studios in Dortmund by Alexander Stöcker, the guitarist of Stallion, while the production was once more handled by Marco Brinkmann at Hellforge Studio.
"This cooperation turned out great!" enthuses vocalist Leo Steeler. "Alex's way of recording and the whole studio atmosphere was pretty motivating and inspiring for all of us. Marco, on the other hand, knows exactly how we should sound and already became literally the sixth member of the band."
Working twelve-hour days for ten days straight was pretty grueling, their daily schedule "get up, track, sleep", but the effort paid off. "I think 'Dealin' Death' is the best we've ever sounded. The mix itself is absolutely flawless to my ears," says Castevet. "It's way more direct and less reverb-soaked than its predecessor. It was very important for us this time, to take advice from Marco and make all key elements audible for the listener. The vocals sound piercing, the bass is present, delivering warmth throughout the whole mix, and the guitars have the best sound we've ever had, and the same goes for drums. It's very natural and dynamic, but straight to the point."
And now with everything done, the band are eager to get it out there. "We can't wait to get feedback for it, hopefully people will admire it as much as we do! Once the pandemic is over, we also can't wait to play shows and even tour again."
Dealin' Death can be pre-ordered here in the following formats:
- jewelcase-CD
