DE LA TIERRA Featuring SEPULTURA's ANDREAS KISSER: 'San Asesino' Video Released

"San Asesino", the new video from the Latin metal group DE LA TIERRA, consisting of Andreas Kisser, guitarist of SEPULTURA, Andrés Giménez, former leader of A.N.I.M.A.L., Sr. Flavio, bassist of LOS FABULOSOS CADILLACS, and Alex González, drummer of MANÁ, can be seen below.

Roadrunner Records and Warner Music Latina released the self-titled debut album from DE LA TIERRA, on January 14. The CD cover artwork can be seen below.

"De La Tierra", the band's crushing 11-song debut was recorded and mixed by Stanley Soares (MOTÖRHEAD, SEPULTURA) in Sao Paulo, Guadalajara, Buenos Aires and Los Angeles and produced by the band themselves. The album, which marks an electrifying new chapter for the always daring members of DE LA TIERRA, features lyrics sung entirely in both Spanish and Portuguese, elevating the group's Latin roots.

"On 'De La Tierra', there are some moments when you feel the world is coming to an end and others when the sky seems to open up, letting the light shine," says Gonzalez. "It is metal that is fast, powerful, explosive, with lots of adrenaline. You have darkness and light. There is melody and also a lot of punch."

DE LA TIERRA's history can be traced back eight years to backstage conversations between Giménez and González, discussing their passion for heavy music. A tour with MANÁ brought González to Argentina in 2011, which rekindled discussions of starting a group with Gimenez. The following evening the two had dinner with Flavio, a friend of Giménez's who both revered, as the three flirted with the idea of forming a power trio. Giménez however wanted more firepower and suggested Kisser as a possible second guitarist. González reached out to Kisser via email telling him about the project which was conceived as a gathering of like minds to create metal music which they all enjoyed and appreciated. Kisser responded immediately: "I am the band's guitar player!"

DE LA TIERRA is Andrés Giménez (vocals/guitar), Andreas Kisser (guitar/vocals), Sr. Flavio (bass/vocals) and Alex González (drums/vocals)

BRIMSTONE To Release Fourth Album Via Karisma Records; Details Revealed

Five years after the release of their last album, Smorgasbord, Karisma Records is set to release the fourth full-length album from prog rockers BRIMSTONE, who have not only shortened their name from THE BRIMSTONE SOLAR RADIATION BAND, but have also changed their sound to become "leaner, meaner, hungrier, and much more proggie" than before.

The new album, which is titled Mannsverk, will hit the streets on March 24th in CD, digital and vinyl formats.
Mannsverk tracklisting:

'A Norwegian Requiem'
'Rubberlegged Man'
'Voodoo'
'Flapping Lips At Ankle Height'
'The Fixed Wheel'
'The Giant Fire'
'Sjø & Land'
'This Is The Universe'

Formed in Bergen, Norway, in the late '90's by guitarist and vocalist Rolf Edvardsen and bassist Truls “Biff” Eriksen who, wanting something different from the pop and metal of their previous bands, turned to psychedelic progressive music as epitomised by bands such as KING CRIMSON, PINK FLOYD and 13th FLOOR ELEVATORS. Joined by two brothers Thomas and Øyvind Grønner on drums and organ/guitar, respectively, Brimstone married high quality song writing to high energy live performances and quickly became much in demand on the underground psychedelic /prog network, both at home and abroad, thanks to their own special brand of "prog-a-delic space rock". Under their original name of The Brimstone Solar Radiation Band, they released the Going Out EP in 2002, followed by the full-length albums Solar Radiation Band in 2004, the country- tinged Solstice in 2005, and their first release on Karisma Records, the multi-instrumental Smorgasbord, in 2009.

Mannsverk finds the lineup back as the original 4-piece and recording in their own studio, using original vintage equipment to enable them to get the exact sound they want. A sound that includes the use of instruments as varied as flutes, saxophones, accordions and violins, as well as vocal choirs, to create a strong late 60's/early 70's vibe. With many of the songs coming in at between six and twelve minutes, Brimstone have used their considerable musical skill to avoid the trap of boring solos and fruitless jamming - effortlessly fusing Biff’s thundering bass lines with Thomas Grønner’s relentless jazz- grooves, whilst Rolf Edvardsen’s vocals and guitar fit perfectly with Øyvind Grønner’s arsenal of organs, pianos, mellotrons and synthesizers.

Brimstone will launch Mannsverk with a show at Det Akademiske Kvarter in Bergen on March 28th.

The official video for the track 'Sanctimonious High' from Brimstone's 2009 album Smorgasbord can be seen below:

"We have a brand new song called 'Self-Induced Reckoning' available for streaming coming off our album Venomassacre (to be released on April 4th) below. A free download can be obtained here. Also, the pre-order CD is available at WarthroneMetal.com."

Further, Venomassacre will feature a special guest appearance on a song with additional vocals by Beist of Norwegian symphonic black metal band KRAKE.

“Expect brutal metal that may please fans from CANNIBAL CORPSE or NAPALM DEATH, to DARK FUNERAL or DIMMU BORGIR” says Sayenga. “We don't like to label ourselves just one style of extreme metal and we are huge fans of black metal and all death metal, so the mixture of the two just naturally comes out in Warthrone's music.”

WHITESNAKE - Slide It In Celebrating 30th Anniversary; Official Video Compilation Streaming

WHITESNAKE's breakthrough album Slide It In is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and mainman David Coverdale has uploaded a special video collage on YouTube below:
Slide It In was Whitesnake's first album to hit the Top 40 Billboard charts in the US, led by the singles 'Slow An' Easy', 'Love Ain't No Stranger' and the title track.

A few years back, David Coverdale spoke with Metro.co.uk about Slide It In. Here are a few excerpts from the chat:
Metro.co.uk: Any idea how many people have popped their cherry to Slide It In?

Coverdale: "Certainly a lot of people in the media – reluctantly at times – tell me they did. It’s also very good for pole dancing. All these things do not figure when one’s putting these songs together. I am 58 this September, so I have got a couple of good years left and I got a gold record for a new album in days when you’re not supposed to be able to sell records. Somebody out there seems to support The Snake."

Metro.co.uk: Where did that name come from?

Coverdale: "From my penis. If I had been from Africa it would have been Blacksnake. But, no, it was actually a song I wrote in the dying embers of Deep Purple."
Metro.co.uk: Didn’t the model on the Slide It In cover faint because of the snake?

Coverdale: "There were actually two girls. The first one was 17 years old and she fainted dead away. We had to get another model in to do the back cover. Basically the press dictated the sexist response from Whitesnake. The more the press jumped on that, the more I pushed back with the sexist aspect. Regardless, we had a very high percentage of fine young ladies at our shows. They were the loudest singing along to Slide It In, to be perfectly honest. A lot of other songs were tongue-in-cheek stuff. And fortunately I had the substance of other songs to forge a soon-to-be 40-year career."

TWITCH OF THE DEATH NERVE – Side Project Of INFECTED DISARRAY, BEEF CONSPIRACY To Release Debut In April; Streaming Album Track

Comatose Music will release A New Code Of Morality from UK Brutalists TWITCH OF THE DEATH NERVE on April 29th.

Twitch Of The Death Nerve was formed in 2004 as a side project of Tom Bradfield and Tom Carter from INFECTED DISARRAY and BEEF CONSPIRACY. After releasing a split CD, the pair continued with their other projects (including Grindethic Records and REPULSIVE DISSECTION) whilst at the same time working on tracks for a full length release. The line-up was later completed by recruiting DEFEATED SANITY drummer Lille Gruber, and the band began working on their debut.
The style is anchored relentless brutal death metal, drawing on influences from the glory years of the scene, but also keeping a focus on interesting compositions and adding progressive elements to the sound. A New Code Of Morality is now finally complete and is presented along with some gruesomely epic Marco Hasmann artwork to complement the misanthropy drenched nihilism.

A New Code Of Morality tracklisting:

‘Peculiar Perversions Particular To The Piquerist’
‘Of Rutting Beasts And Drifting Herds’
‘Scores Of Sores, Legions Of Lesions’
‘Made Loose, The Bonds Of Piety’
‘A Hundred And Twenty Days In Sodom’
‘The Repercussions Of Fetus Consumption’
‘A New Code Of Morality’
‘The Locard Principle’
‘Eschewing The Advice Against Self-Trepanation’
‘Well If The Turkey’s In The High-Chair, Where’s The Baby?’
‘The Pitezel Family Holiday’

KILLGASM To Release A Stab In The Heart Of Christ In May

Moribund Records has announced May 27th as the release date for KILLGASM’s A Stab In The Heart Of Christ.

Following on from their Bloodbath In Satanic Vengeance debut in 2011, A Stab In The Heart Of Christ is the Californian power-trio's second album. Killgasm's first album for Moribund, A Stab In The Heart Of Christ is everything it says on the tin: blistering, belligerent black metal fused with caustic, chaotic grindcore, with the target firmly set on dog's creation. With apparent unconcern for the listener's well-being, Killgasm create a whirlwind of filth and fury, but one not locked into the conventions of neither black metal nor grindcore.

Cover and tracklisting are as follows:
‘Black Grinding Terror’
‘Revenge Of The Panzergoat’
‘Planet Earth Mass Grave’
‘The Smell Of Stolen Innocence’
‘Cold, Dead, And Spread’
‘High On Church Fumes’
‘A Stab In The Heart Of Christ’
‘Fisting Your Faith’
‘Miserable Existence’
‘Humanity In Ashes’

A statement from Killgasm reads: "Moribund Cult has been one of our favorite labels for well over a decade now, and we are honored to have our upcoming releases be under same banner that has released such influential bands as GRAND BELIAL'S KEY, ARCHGOAT, JUDAS ISCARIOT, SARGEIST, ARGHOSLENT, CRAFT, LEVIATHAN, ARCKANUM, FORNICATOR, DRAWN AND QUARTERED, BAHIMIRON, THY INFERNAL, MEAT SHITS, SATAN'S HOST, AZAGHAL, DODSFERD, XASTHUR, HORNA, OLD WAINDS, NOCTURNAL FEAR, BEHEXEN, and WINTER OF APOKALYPSE among countless others! From the very inception of this project, we felt Moribund would be the ideal label for us, as they do not in any way censor their artists and no subject matter is taboo for them. And above all else, Moribund Cult is notorious for releasing only the most evil, hateful, disgusting and perverted black metal and filth grind, which are the very aesthetics this band was built upon."

SEBASTIAN BACH Collaborates With Swedish DJ/Producer Duo DADA LIFE

According to Big Shot, former SKID ROW singer Sebastian Bach has collaborated with the Swedish DJ/producer duo DADA LIFE — Olle Cornéer and Stefan Engblom — for a new version of the twosome's banger "Born To Rage". Bach's vocals will appear on the reworked edition of the song, which will be released on April 8. The track is described by the site as "a kinetic peak-hour EDM jam with the crowd-pleasing obligatory buildup, breakdown and drop."

"Sebastian Bach was top of the list for us to work with on this track," DADA LIFE told Big Shot via e-mail. "He follows the Rules of Dada and, of course, he was Born To Rage."

Sebastian Bach has sold in excess of 20 million records worldwide as lead singer with SKID ROW and as a solo artist. Far from just being a multi-platinum recording artist, the singer/songwriter/actor/entertainer has expanded his career over the past decade to include episodic television with a five-season recurring role on the CW's hit series "Gilmore Girls", starring roles on Broadway ("Jekyll & Hyde", "The Rocky Horror Picture Show") and national touring companies ("Jesus Chris Superstar"), and has appeared regularly on MTV and VH1.

Bach will releae new solo album, "Give 'Em Hell", on April 22 via Frontiers Records. The follow-up to 2011's "Kicking & Screaming" was once again produced by Bob Marlette, who has previously worked with ROB ZOMBIE, BLACK SABBATH and SHINEDOWN, among others.

The cover for "Give 'Em Hell" was once again handled by Richard Villa, who worked on "Kicking & Screaming". Incorporated into the album design is one of the paintings by Sebastian's late father David Bierk, who painted the artwork for SKID ROW's "Slave To The Grind", inside artwork for SKID ROW's "Subhuman Race", and Bach's solo albums "Angel Down" and "Bring 'Em Bach Alive!".

CASTLE: 'Under Siege' Cover Art, Track Listing Revealed

Heavy metal cultists CASTLE have unveiled additional details about their upcoming album, "Under Siege", scheduled for release on May 20 via Prosthetic Records in North America. The CD, which was recorded at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California with producer/mixer Billy Anderson (CATHEDRAL, SLEEP), features cover artwork from Russian symbolic painter Denis Forkas Kostromitin (BEHEMOTH), with whom the band previously collaborated with on their Juno-nominated 2012 release "Blacklands".

While holding onto their darkened and sophisticated classic metal roots, CASTLE further develops their sound with each of the eight tracks of "Under Siege" by adding punishing riffs and hauntingly melodic passages complimented by Liz Blackwell's full blooded vocals. Blackwell says: "On this record, I wanted to summon the powerful and unrelenting feeling I get while playing live. I was casting out demons and stating my position in life."

"Under Siege" track listing:

01. Distant Attack (3:48)02. Be My Ghost (4:06)03. A Killing Pace (4:27)04. Pyramid Lake (4:18)05. Powersigns (3:54)06. Labyrinth Of Death (4:30)07. Temple Of The Lost (4:46)08. Evil Ways (4:02)

METALLICA: 'Garage Demo' Version Of New Song 'The Lords Of Summer' Posted Online

METALLICA debuted a brand new song called "The Lords Of Summer" on Sunday night (March 16) during the opening show of the band's South American tour in Bogota, Colombia. As promised, the band played a nearly all-request set, with 17 songs chosen online by fans prior to the gig and the last slot filled by the new track.

METALLICA has just posted a "garage demo" version of "The Lords Of Summer" via the band's official YouTube channel. Check it out below. Drummer Lars Ulrich told Rolling Stone that the new song "is fairly representative of where our creative headspace is at right now. It's one of those things that's like, 'Here, we're writing and we're creating.'"

Guitarist Kirk Hammett told The Pulse Of Radio that coming up with music is not a problem for the band. "We're a band that never has a shortage of ideas," he said. "You know, you hear about these bands that are like, oh, they're sitting in the studio and they don't have any songs, what are they gonna do? That's not METALLICA. METALLICA's problem is the total opposite: we have too many ideas, which ones are we gonna use. And so that's pretty much how it stands with us."

Ulrich cautioned, however, that "The Lords Of Summer" may not even end up on METALLICA's next album at all, or at least not in its current form. He explained, "We did the same thing when we went out and played a bunch of dates in 2006. We were writing and played two different new songs over the course of that summer, and none of them made the record (2008's 'Death Magnetic')."

The Metallica By Request tour will hit Europe this summer, with a single North American date confirmed in Montreal, as the band continues working on its 10th studio album. The rest of METALLICA's "by request" show in Bogota featured such "rarities" as "Master Of Puppets", "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)", "Sad But True", "Fade To Black", "One" and "Enter Sandman".

Previously Unheard OZZY OSBOURNE Recordings With RANDY RHOADS Posted Online

Today (Wednesday, March 19) is the 32nd anniversary of the tragic passing of OZZY OSBOURNE guitarist Randy Rhoads. To pay special tribute to Randy's life and the working relationship that he had with bassist Bob Daisley, Bob has not only agreed to answer some questions regarding the seven hours of audio tapes that he recorded during the writing, rehearsing and recording sessions of the "Blizzard Of Ozz" and "Diary Of A Madman" albums, he has also agreed to share some snippets of those recordings with the fans.

Check it out at this location.

On March 19, 1982, Rhoads, the then-lead guitarist for OZZY OSBOURNE, and two others were killed at Flying Baron Estates, just outside Leesburg, Florida, when their small plane struck Osbourne's tour bus, then crashed into a mansion. Rhoads was 25 years old.

In a 2012 interview with Rock Cellar Magazine, Daisley revealed that the 30th-anniversary remastered reissues of Osbourne's classic early albums, 1980's "Blizzard Of Ozz" and 1981's "Diary Of A Madman", which came with a box set of previously unreleased live recordings, a coffee table book and other goodies, could have packed much more material than what actually made the release.

"There'd been talk about it during 2010, and it was then that I offered to supply tapes of our rehearsals and writing sessions, to go as proper bonus material," Daisley said. "And I just said that I wanted a royalty out of it, because it's my stuff. But they wouldn't do it because they didn't want to give me a royalty — they just wanted to buy it.

"So no agreement was made, and as a result the bonus material in the box set is minimal, which is unfortunate because I know the fans want to hear the stuff that I've got — recordings of the writing sessions, rehearsals and the songs taking shape. But the Osbournes wouldn't come to the table, y'know. I didn't even ask for an equal royalty, it was just a small royalty I wanted because it's my stuff…"

Daisley added that he had "literally hours and hours of tapes I've got from us writing those albums and rehearsing it" that could have been included in the package. "You can hear the songs changing, the different parts taking shape, and all this stuff would have been perfect bonus material for the box set," he said. "Sadly, the Osbournes are just too greedy and self-absorbed."

Bob Daisley said in a 2010 interview with his web site that he had not been contacted about the 30th-anniversary editions of "Blizzard Of Ozz" and "Diary Of A Madman". The tracks played by Daisley and drummer Lee Kerslake on both albums were replaced on a previous reissue after Daisley and Kerslake sued Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne over royalties.

Daisley told the web site, "Neither Lee nor I have been contacted, considered or consulted in the decision to re-release the original recordings. As for royalties, we have not been approached for a reconciliation and have been offered and promised nothing."

Ozzy told The Pulse of Radio he was against the idea of replacing the original tracks when he found out about it. "Believe me, it wasn't my doing," he said. "I mean, I didn't know that was being done, 'cause Sharon was fighting all the legal things that were going down at the time. I said, 'What did you do that for?' And she said, 'The only way I could stop everything was if it went to that level.' And I said, 'You know what, whatever the circumstances were, I want the original thing back.' I mean, I wouldn't have done that."

The replacement tracks were played by current METALLICA bassist Robert Trujillo and FAITH NO MORE drummer Mike Bordin.

Daisley says that he and Kerslake were fired because of disagreements with Sharon over a number of things, including refusing to do two shows in one day out of worry that Ozzy would blow out his voice.

EPICA: 'The Essence Of Silence' Lyric Video Released

Dutch female-fronted symphonic metallers EPICA will release their sixth studio album, "The Quantum Enigma", on May 2 in Europe and May 13 in North America through Nuclear Blast.

The official lyric video for the song "The Essence Of Silence" can be seen below.

Where the 2013 "Retrospect" performance reflected on a decade as one of the leading bands in the symphonic metal scene, "The Quantum Enigma" marks the beginning of a new EPICA: modern, heavy, and without compromises.

Says the band: "More than any of our previous albums, this album is a group effort. The only goal we had in mind: creating the album that could lift EPICA up to the next level."

"The Quantum Enigma" was produced by Joost van den Broek at the Sandlane recording facility in the Netherlands. The album was mixed by Jacob Hansen (VOLBEAT, HATESPHERE).

"The Quantum Enigma" will be released in five different configurations:

In a recent interview with LiveReviewer, EPICA guitarist Isaac Delahaye stated about the making of "The Quantum Enigma": "It was very much our intention to really make songs. It was because we started with putting a lot of effort into the basics and we gave a lot of attention to the band part, more so than before. And, of course, Jacob Hansen mixed it and he knows how to do these things. We tried out several people and had them do a test mix of certain songs and he came out on top. It's become a heavy album, yet all the details are there. Previously, we used to go to the studio, tune our stuff and then we recorded an album. This time we did a long pre-production in the studio and we got to check out a lot of different combinations of amps and then we could record it. Previously, we just did everything in our home studios and sent each other the parts. And after that we would go into the studio and that's it. But now we sat down together and discussed a lot more, it was more of a band effort. It was working together, rather than reacting. Everyone brought songs to the table, which was very cool. With the previous album, it was mostly Mark, Coen and me writing a lot. And now even Ariën joined in and that made it all feel refreshing. It's odd to say, but it's kind of a new beginning." Longtime EPICA collaborator Stephan Heilemann once again created the stunning artwork to accompany the ideas behind the lyrics. Once you lay your hands on the album artwork, you will see that the cover is part of a bigger picture.

EPICA will return to the stage on April 30 for a CD-release performance at 013 in Tilburg, The Netherlands.

After taking a break from the road due the pregnancy of lead singer Simone Simons, the release of a new concert DVD, "Retrospect", as well as the writing and recording of the band's upcoming album, the sextet will put on a memorable concert, with plans to perform both old and new songs.

MAYHEM: 'Esoteric Warfare' Album Details Revealed

Legendary Norwegian black metal instigators MAYHEM will release their fifth full-length album, "Esoteric Warfare", on May 23 via Season Of Mist. The effort, in its various formats, including a limited vinyl collector's box, will be made available for pre-order on the Season Of Mist e-shop next week. The stunning cover was created by Polish artist and architect Zbigniew M. Bielak and can be seen below.

MAYHEM's follow-up to 2007's "Ordo Ad Chao" was mixed at Mølla Studio in Gjerstad, Norway.

"Esoteric Warfare" track listing:

01. Watcher02. Psywar03. Trinity04. Pandaemon05. Mylab06. Six Seconds07. Throne Of Time08. Corpse Of Care09. Posthuman10. Aion Suntalia

MAYHEM had always witnessed many lineup changes due to various circumstances. Therefore even the loss of guitarist Blasphemer, who decided to focus on his other band AVA INFERI in 2008, did not stop the band. Activities mainly revolved around live shows, until the right balance was found again with the recruitment of Morten "Teloch" Iversen. The guitarist had already made a name for himself with NIDINGR, which is highly regarded amongst black metal enthusiasts yet remained mostly an underground phenomenon.

Now his first compositional work with MAYHEM is unveiled and demonstrates how perfectly Teloch has captured the essence and spirit of the Norwegian legend by clearly linking the band back to its roots, while at the same time taking a step forward into the spearhead position of the genre instead of dwelling in nostalgia.

"Esoteric Warfare" is finally ready to be unleashed. This full-scale assault of total dark savagery of freezing riffs and Attila Csihar's inhumane vocals is entirely based on a concept dealing with the esoteric experimentations of the nuclear powers during the cold war. The album proves once again and beyond doubt that MAYHEM are the Alpha and the Omega of black metal!

MAYHEM's "Psywar" single will precede the full-length effort on April 25.

The "Psywar" lyric video was created by revered artist Costin Chioreanu (SPIRITUAL BEGGARS, ORANSSI PAZUZU, VULTURE INDUSTRIES) and can be seen below.

"Psywar" is available for pre-order from Season Of Mist.

MAYHEM previously announced a first set of European shows in support of "Esoteric Warfare". The tour will kick off on May 14 in Germany at Hamburg's famous Markthalle and continue to rage through ten countries until a final onslaught in Denmark's capital Copenhagen at Pumpehuset.

MAYHEM is:

Attila Csihar: VocalsTeloch: GuitarNecrobutcher: BassHellhammer: DrumsCharles Hedger: Guitar (live)
