KENZINER - Comeback Album Details Revealed; Song Snippets Streaming
 Germany's Power Prog label has announced the signing of Finnish neoclassical/progressive power metal legends KENZINER. The band's comeback album, The Last Horizon, will be released worldwide on CD and as a digital download on May 23rd.
After more than a decade break and many years of a complete withdrawal from the music business, Jarno Keskinen decided to revive Kenziner in 2012 and begun gathering a band around himself. He started by hiring Markku Kuikka (STATUS MINOR, THE RAGGED SAINTS, etc.) as the singer, and through Markku, found also the rest of the members: the new lineup features Jukka Karinen (THUNDERSTONE, Status Minor, etc.) on the keyboards, Make Lievonen (EMBASSY OF SILENCE) on the drums and Jupi Hjelt on the bass.
While the new lineup was being built, Jarno and Markku arranged Jarno’s new compositions for the upcoming album. As the songs took shape, it became clear that a new album will play a major part in Kenziner’s comeback. Neo-classical guitar work and strong melodies have always laid the foundation for Kenziner’s music. The new lineup gave Jarno much better musical freedom because the music could be arranged in Finland, with the group working on the songs together.
During the winter 2012/2013, Kenziner recorded their upcoming album. Having finished the recordings in September 2013, the band took the album to Sonic Pump Studios (Helsinki), and mixed their new masterpiece with Nino Laurenne (Thunderstone).
In early January 2014 Kenziner signed a deal with German based media company/label Power Prog and has found a new home... the beginning of a new era for the band. They aims to transform from the studio band that it has been up to now into a real live and touring act, creating music that is challenging and interesting for their fans.

FUNEREALITY – Bloodsucking Freak Streaming In Full
 Horror Pain Gore Death Productions has released the debut from perverse Swedish masters of death/doom FUNEREALITY entitled Bloodsucking Freak as a digital album. This release is available exclusively via the HPGD Bandcamp site and is streaming now for free and available to purchase for only $6.66 at at this location.
Bloodsucking Freak is a compilation of the first two EP's, Funeral For A Fuck from 2010 and Leeches from 2012. This is raw, old school death metal that relies heavily on the filthy and fucked up sounds of Chris Reifert and company.

CRIMSON SHADOWS To Enter Studio
 Epic Canadian death power metallers and 2013 International Battle for Wacken winners CRIMSON SHADOWS of Toronto have announced that they will enter the studio next month to record their follow up to 2013's EP Sails Of Destiny with Jonathan Lefrançois and Jee Gagnon at Silverwing Studios in Montreal. The record will be mixed by Eyal Levi of Audiohammer Studios.
As the winners of the 2013 International Battle for Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany, Crimson Shadows is fresh off a triumphant year and started 2014 strong with a recent first run in the United States with thrash band BATTLECROSS. Known for a Canadian twist on epic power European metal, the band is also set to make an announcement that they are signing to an international record label who will release the new record this summer.
"Our new songs show a progression of the band as we have been through a lot over the past few years. With a full length and an EP behind us we look forward to this new record and working with Jo and Jee at SilverWing Studios to make these songs truly come to life, and have Eyal provide the finishing touches," says Drummer, Cory Hofing. "I'm really looking forward to spending a couple weeks in beautiful Montreal to hammer out these new tracks and show everyone what we've been up to since coming back and winning the metal battle in Wacken."
Lefrançois and Gagnon of Montreal based Silverwing Studios (AGONIST, EX-DEO, BLACKGUARD, ERIMHA) will handle the production, and Levi (DAATH, WHITE CHAPEL, FIREWIND, Battlecross) of Sanford, FL's famed Audiohammer Studios, will mix the record. A summer 2014 release is planned.

PŸLON To Release 'Homo Homini Lupus'
 Swiss doom metallers PŸLON will release their sixth full-length album, "Homo Homini Lupus", later this year via the U.S. label Roxx Productions. The CD will contain six original compositions, including a track, "Al HaHar", with a verse in Modern Hebrew, and one as-yet-undisclosed "unlikely" cover song.
PŸLON's fifth album, "The Harrowing Of Hell", was released in 2012 on vinyl and in 2013 on CD as a collaborative effort between Roxx Productions and Quam Libet Records. The effort contained six original compositions, including "Returnal Etern" and "Psalm 139b" as well as a re-imagining of BLACK SABBATH's "Paranoid". | 0 | |

TESLA: New Album Title Revealed
 California rockers TESLA last month entered the studio to record eight or nine new songs, to be included on the band's forthcoming album.
Says TESLA guitarist Frank Hannon: "I must say that this new TESLA album is really gonna be awesome.
"We went in more prepared with the songs and ideas way more than 'Forevermore', and the style is pure TESLA back to our roots.
"The band is working and producing it as we did 'Into The Now'... with help from the legendary Tom Zutaut, who helped us make our best albums.
"The title of the new album is gonna be 'Simplicity' and I truly believe you guys are gonna love it!"
He added: "The opening track is called 'MP3' and starts off with an opus intro that orchestrates into a heavy slow groove with lyrics about technology and how we miss simplicity, vinyl albums, family values... and has a heavy-ass riff! Then we segue into a rock and roll song called 'Ricochet' that talks about Uncle Ted...
"Can't wait to play this stuff live!"
A new TESLA song, "Taste My Pain", was released last summer via iTunes and Amazon. The track was recorded during a two-day (June 5-6, 2013) session at J Street Recorders in Sacramento, with plans to include it on the upcoming CD. According to the group, "It's a heavier song with a hard-driving beat and TESLA trademark blazing guitars."
TESLA's latest album, "Twisted Wires And The Acoustic Sessions", was released in July 2011 via Scarlet Records. The CD featured six songs that were recorded back in 2005 at bassist Brian Wheat's J Street Recorders studio — which also served as the last recordings with original member Tommy Skeoch — and six newly recorded tracks, including acoustic remakes of songs from TESLA's entire catalog and two brand new songs, "Second Street" and "Better Off Without You".
TESLA released a live album, "Alive In Europe!", in Europe on April 23, 2010 via Frontiers Records.
TESLA's latest studio album, "Forever More", sold more than 16,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 33 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was released on October 7, 2008 on Tesla Electric Company Recordings. The European version of the album, which was made available on November 7, 2008 via Frontiers Records, contains two bonus tracks not found on the American version. | 0 | |

ROB ZOMBIE: Photo Book By ROB FENN To Be Released With 'The Zombie Horror Picture Show' DVD, Blu-Ray
 Rob Zombie will release a new concert DVD and Blu-ray, titled "The Zombie Horror Picture Show", in May. To go along with the DVD and Blu-ray, there will be a "killer book" by photographer Rob Fenn, according to Zombie.
"The Zombie Horror Picture Show" will feature footage filmed during stops on last year's Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Mayhem Festival tour in Houston on August 3, 2013 and Dallas on August 4.

Zombie has never released a concert DVD before and told an Albany radio station that he always thought of doing one as a "huge nuisance," adding, "After the show is done, I don't care. I don't want to relive it… I never wanna hear about it again, I never wanna see it again. Like, I never watch anything — a TV show I've been on; I don't care. Once it's done, it's done. But I figured at least once we should film it."
Zombie did roll cameras during his 2008 "Educated Horses" tour, but had very different plans for that still-unseen footage. "I didn't want to really just make a live DVD 'cause I thought, like, who cares," he told The Pulse Of Radio. What I really did was I made, like, a tour documentary, where like it starts with the first rehearsal through building the stage through, you know, traveling and flying and playing every show and after show and this and that. And, you know, it's so many hundreds of hours of footage."
Zombie's fifth solo album, "Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor", came out last April and entered the Billboard album chart at No. 7 with first-week sales of 34,000 copies.
Zombie will kick off a 12-date run of shows on April 26 in Fort Myers, Florida at the Fort Rock festival, mixing other major rock festival stops with headlining shows before wrapping it up on May 10 in Camden, New Jersey. | 0 | |

Video: Ex-SEPULTURA Drummer IGOR CAVALERA Performs With SOULFLY In London
 Former SEPULTURA drummer Igor Cavalera joined SOULFLY, the band led by his brother, and fellow CAVALERA CONSPIRACY and ex-SEPULTURA member, Max Cavalera, on stage on March 1 at O2 Academy Islington in London, England to perform the CAVALERA CONSPIRACY song "Sanctuary" and the SEPULTURA classic "Troops Of Doom". Fan-filmed video footage of Igor's appearance can be seen below.
In 1996, Max exited SEPULTURA after the rest of the band fired Max's wife Gloria as their manager.
Igor left SEPULTURA in June 2006 due to "artistic differences." His departure from the band came five months after he announced that he was taking a break from SEPULTURA's touring activities to spend time with his second wife and their new son (who was born in January 2006).
After Max exited SEPULTURA, there was a rift between him and Igor, one that was eventually repaired through the redemptive power of music. Some time had passed and Max and Igor were unable to resist the musical pull in their magnetic fields and their musical collaboration was renewed. The duo are back for round two with CAVALERA CONSPIRACY, which released its debut album, "Inflikted", in March 2008 and follow-up effort, Blunt Force Trauma", in March 2011.
CAVALERA CONSPIRACY's third album will be released this fall via Napalm Records. The CD was produced by John Gray, who has previously worked with SOULFLY.
CAVALERA CONSPIRACY recently recruited Nate Newton of CONVERGE as its new bassist.
Max and Igor played together for the first time in 10 years at the 10th annual D-Low Memorial Festival on August 17, 2006 at the Marquee Theatre in Tempe, Arizona.

DEW-SCENTED Begin Writing New Material; More Live Dates Confirmed
 After spending most of 2013 on the road with acts including TESTAMENT and DEATH ANGEL in addition to appearing at several high-profile festivals (Wacken, Full Metal Cruise) to celebrate their 20-year anniversary release Insurgent, German thrash stalwarts DEW-SCENTED have started writing material for a new full-length, tentatively due in early 2015.
Vocalist Leif Jensen released the following statement: "2014 is scheduled to be a 'quieter' year since we are focusing on writing the follow-up album to 2012’s Icarus. We have gathered about eight really strong songs so far and are currently working on a couple more. The material is as relentless as you would expect from Dew-Scented, but also shows different and new elements in the mix, since everyone (Marvin, Rory, Joost and Koen) is bringing in ideas and writing contributions this time. As things look right now, we should be ready to start recording around summer and are aiming at an early 2015 release date for the album."
In addition to focusing on their new release, Dew-Scented have also announced that they will return to Japan for the first time in nearly a decade to support headliners THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER alongside FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE.
They commented: "This is the third time for us to visit Japan and the first since 2005’s Extreme The Dojo dates with HIGH ON FIRE and MISERY SIGNALS. We truly look forward to meeting our faithful thrash brothers and sisters over there soon. It’s been too long!"
Soon after, the band will return to Europe to join up with SACRED REICH for a handful of dates before taking part in the prestigious With Full Force Festival, which this year is top-lined by VOLBEAT, ROB ZOMBIE, MOTÖRHEAD and AMON AMARTH.

WARCKON To Release High Treason Album In March
 Belgium-based thrash metal act WARCKON will release their sophomore album, High Treason, on March 1st via Emanes Metal Records.

Warckon originates from the region of Grammont in the province of East-Flanders, Belgium. The band, as they perform on stage to this day, started their mission during the summer of 2009. Warckon’s fanbase grew quick and steady, so they decided to record some material during the summer of 2010. What was supposed to become a simple demo, went on to become an EP and eventually turned out as a full length album. The Madman’s Lullaby was officially self-released for the first time on the first of April 2011.
Since then the band worked very hard to reinforce their reputation and live attitude. As the number of shows grew, so did the number of clubs and festivals Warckon played at, even across the borders. In February of 2012, Warckon was the only Flemish metal band that was selected for the last 100 contenders of Humo’s Rock Rally, Belgium’s biggest mainstream rock rally.
The growing reputation and the increasing fanbase kept reinforcing itself, landing the band a record deal with the French label Emanes Metal Records. Under the wings of this label, they scheduled the re-release of The Madman’s Lullaby for December 2012 with completely renewed artwork.
After a busy season of playing shows, the band intended to withdraw back to the studio and not play any shows during the second half of 2012, so they could record the follow up for their first record. What they didn’t foresee was the great amount of gig requests. The idea of not doing any shows was cancelled and they found massive joy combining the process of recording with the mayhem of touring. This led them to play festivals alongside metal icons like ARTILLERY, HYADES and ENFORCER.
March 1st, dates the official release of the second full-length album, High Treason: a more fierceful, technical, brutal and varied album on which the band further unleash their viciousness and mindblowing riffage on the underground thrash scene of today.
Warckon plays thrash metal which definitely derives its influences from the 80’s Bay Area scene. Fans of the technicality of top notch bands like MEGADETH, TESTAMENT and ANNIHILATOR or the attitude that defines bands like SLAYER and EXODUS, will surely get their kicks at a Warckon gig! LIONS OF THE SOUTH Unveil New Album Cover Artwork, Tracklist
 South Florida metallers LIONS OF THE SOUTH will release their debut album, Chronicles of Aggression on February 28th via. The cover artwork for the CD was created by Eduardo Hidalgo, can be seen below. The band is a new upcoming, three-piece, South Florida metal band with South American roots in their blood. While the band simply describes their music as metal, others have described the band’s style as a fusion between heavy, groove, and crossover thrash metal.

DIR EN GREY - Tour13 Ghoul DVD/Blu-Ray To Be Released In April; Details Revealed
 Japan's DIR EN GREY have checked in with the following update:
"It has been 15 years since DIR EN GREY made their spectacular debut, and they are still continuing to progress. Dir En Grey has just announced their fourth video documentary, Tour13 Ghoul, with footage that documents Dir En Grey face to face with reality, will be released on April 23, 2014.
It features their domestic headlining tour beginning at Yokohama Blitz on September 18, 2013, where Kyo revealed his self-created, skull-like make-up that gave him the appearance of a ghoul starved for human flesh. The tour's stage production invited audiences into the world of Dir En Grey, while the band followed their instincts and laid themselves bare for the crowds. The documentary also includes their month-long American tour, from the fatal shooting at LAX on November 1 for which Dir En Grey were present, to the looming possibility of cancelling shows due to a tour bus breakdown.
The three months of filming captures on video anxiety about their new challenges, unimaginable realities, and a ray of hope at the end of hardship. Why take the stage? South Wales' CAESARS ROME Release Sophomore Album
 After the successful release of their debut, The Company We Keep, in 2010 and several shows across Europe, CAESARS ROME have today released the follow up album, Believers, through Lock & Key.
With a much heavier and darker vibe combined with their “wall of sound”, Believers marks a new chapter in the band’s history, projecting their process to maturity. ELECTRIC LITANY - Enduring Days You Will Overcome Album Stream Online
 Inner Ear Records will release the sophomore album from progressive rockers ELECTRIC LITANY, entitled Enduring Days You Will Overcome, on February 21st. Four years after their debut album, How To Be A Child And Win The War, the London-based 4-piece band return with a unique album that was definitely worth waiting for.
Enduring Days You Will Overcome is the fruit of a difficult and stagnant era. However, confirming every word of its title, it’s proof that the conscious perseverance of creation is the solution to overcome the problems and move forward. The album rises from the ashes of a lo-fi world, maintaining the lyricism and the characteristic "haunting" atmosphere of Electric Litany. Drawing inspiration from Beat poetry, new wave, Byzantine music and solid guitars that form a feeling of dark romanticism. Melancholic odes to the perseverance of the human spirit in face of tragedy.
In 2012 the band contacted legendary producer ALAN PARSONS who, after hearing How To Be A Child And Win The War agreed to collaborate with the band. Sweden's VANHELGA Release Digital Single Ahead Of Full-Length Album
 Today (February 24th) sees Sweden's VANHELGA release a digital single, 'Där Evigheten Inväntar Mig', ahead of the release of the band's sophomore full-length album, Längtan.
'Där Evigheten Inväntar Mig', which translated from the Swedish means "Where Eternity Awaits Me", sets the tone for Längtan, which is scheduled for release in Europe on April 28th in CD format on the Art of Propaganda label, and in vinyl format on Carnal Records on a date as yet to be confirmed.

Vanhelga was formed in Linköping, Sweden in 2001 by J. Ottosson, aka 145188 (ex-LIFELOVER (live session musician), ex-SKOGSTRON), who, unable to create the kind of music he really wanted to, found a group of like-minded musicians and together they set about bringing their vision to life. Aside from Ottosson on Bass, Guitars and Vocals, Vanhelga's lineup consists of J. Gabrielson (ESKAPI, ex-Lifelover) on Vocals, J. Ejnarsson (TAKETH) and Wadström (ex-Skogstron) on guitars and D. Franzén on drums.
Whilst it would be easy to classify Vanhelga as a black metal band, in reality that would be too restrictive a definition. It's true that lyrically the band explores the darker side of humanity, a subject much loved by the genre, indeed, the band's name itself means "Profane", but within Vanhelga's cold and sinister music can be found distinctive melodies and melancholic moments that lull you into a false sense of security and drag you into a dark reality.

SWORN ENEMY To Release 'Living On Borrowed Time' In May

SEPULTURA: Pro-Shot Footage Of 'Refuse/Resist' Performance From Toulouse

SEPULTURA's new album, "The Mediator Between Head And Hands Must Be The Heart", sold around 1,800 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD came out on October 29, 2013 via Nuclear Blast Records.
Although it was inspired by Fritz Lang's classic 1927 movie "Metropolis", "The Mediator Between Head And Hands Must Be The Heart" is not a concept album or a soundtrack like its precedessors "Dante XXI" (based on "The Divine Comedy") and "A-Lex" (based on "A Clockwork Orange").
"The Mediator Between The Head And Hands Must Be The Heart" was tracked over a 40-day period at producer Ross Robinson's (KORN, LIMP BIZKIT, SLIPKNOT) studio in Venice, California and was mixed and mastered by co-producer Steve Evetts, who previously worked with SEPULTURA on the "Nation" (2001), "Revolusongs" (2002) and "Roorback" (2003) albums, in addition to having collaborated with Ross on a number of other projects in the past.
In a 2013 interview with Live-Metal.net, SEPULTURA singer Derrick Green stated about the new album title: "We always have the simple one-word titles or very basic. And with this we knew what we wanted to do. We wanted to maybe make people think a little bit.
"I think we have become lobotomized, including myself, because I'm not putting myself outside of anything. I think a lot of times we live in a time where people are thinking actions or creating ideas — doing something in their head but going right to their hands. And they're missing the essential part, the heart and the compassion, that's behind what you are doing. And (the title) came from a movie called 'Metropolis' (1927) by a director called Fritz Lang, and it's a silent movie. And it's actually the first thing you see in the movie. And the meaning behind it is just that: It's impossible to be human without having the heart dictate what you're doing and why you're doing certain things.
"So I believe this album has that passion and drive and love for music.
"So many things I've been hearing are just about trying to be perfect, with the digital age and trying to make everything sound perfect. Like on albums and things like that, it doesn't even sound real. It doesn't sound human anymore. So this is something going back to really trying not to be perfect. We're trying to pull out that love and desire and just grabbing that moment, placing it on an album and recording it, and not being worried about those other things."

FU MANCHU Completes Recording New Album
 Southern California heavy rockers FU MANCHU have finished recording their 11th album. The follow-up to 2009's "Signs Of Infinite Power" was tracked by Andrew Giacumakis (MOAB) and Jim Monroe (THE ADOLESCENTS, X) and is being produced by the bandmembers themselves. The CD will be released in May via the band's own At The Dojo label and will coincide with a month-long U.S. tour. Dates in Europe and the rest of the world will follow, leading up to FU MANCHU's 25th anniversary in 2015.
Writing for the album began in the summer of 2012, with a break for a tour of Europe in the fall of that year and a U.S. tour in the spring of 2013, reissuing and playing "The Action Is Go" LP in its entirety and an appearance at METALLICA's Orion Music + More festival in June 2013. FU MANCHU soon found itself with enough material for two albums.
A hint of what the new songs will sound like was released in October in the form of "Robotic Invasion", a split seven-inch single with MOAB, presented by Scion.
Slower, longer and heavier than most of the recent material the band has released, the new songs find FU MANCHU exploring different time changes and heavy sonics that the band is known for, with some atmospheric and conceptual lyrics and artwork that will hopefully be tying one, if not two, new records together that the band hopes will be released this year.
FU MANCHU's first full-length, "No One Rides For Free", has been reissued on At The Dojo as a gatefold vinyl. The record celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. | 0 | |

BLACK SABBATH: 'Complete Studio Albums (1970-1978)' Box Set Due In April
 After forming BLACK SABBATH in 1969, Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Terry "Geezer" Butler and Bill Ward went on to record one of the most influential canons of music in the history of rock and roll.
Warner Bros./Rhino brings together the original quartet's groundbreaking eight-album run for "Black Sabbath: Complete Studio Albums (1970-1978)". The hard-hitting, eight-disc boxed set will be available on April 15.
Presented in a clamshell box, the set contains all of the studio albums BLACK SABBATH recorded for Warner Bros. Records during the 1970s, including its iconic, eponymous debut (1970), the multi-platinum landmark "Paranoid" (1970), the platinum albums "Master Of Reality" (1971), "Vol. 4" (1972), and "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" (1973), as well as the gold albums "Sabotage" (1975), "Technical Ecstasy" (1976), and "Never Say Die!" The past few months have been busy ones for BLACK SABBATH. Following hugely successful shows in North and South America, Australia, Asia and Europe, the band won its second Grammy Award when the song "God Is Dead?" picked up the trophy for "Best Metal Performance".
The group will kick off another North American tour on March 31 with a show at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. In the weeks that follow, the trek will hit ten cities in Canada, including stops in Quebec, Montreal, Ottawa, Calgary and Edmonton, before it wraps on April 26 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California. These dates are part of the band’s final shows of its 2013-14 world tour in support of its first studio album in 35 years, "13". A resounding success, the album entered the charts at #1 in 13 countries (including their first #1 in the U.S.). Another run of European festivals and headlining shows will follow this summer.

GRIFTER - The Return Of The Bearded Brethren Album Artwork Revealed; May Release Date Set
 It’s been nearly three years since GRIFTER's self-titled debut album was released on Ripple Music in 2011. Grifter supported the release with a UK tour as special guests to ORANGE GOBLIN and slots at various festivals such as the inaugural Desertfest London and Freak Valley Festival in 2012 and in 2013 at Britain’s prestigious Bloodstock Festival and Hard Rock Hell.
It’s 2014 and Grifter are set to release their second album, The Return Of The Bearded Brethren, once again through Ripple Music. Whereas the first album was a bunch of tracks the band had spanning their career up to that point the new album with written with one aim in mind: to write a killer album that would hit hard from start to finish yet contained songs that would kick arse in their own right. The Return Of The Bearded Brethren picks up where the debut left off but builds in every way from the quality of the song writing and playing boasting a fat production courtesy of Rich Robinson.
The album, which will include many tales of Guinness, '70s sex symbols, drinking regrets, religious folly and more, is slotted for a May 2014 release. Additionally, look for Grifter live across the UK and maybe even the US.

THE BASTARD SONS Drag Up For 'O'Brothel Where Art Thou?' Video
 York, UK-based heavy rock and roll mob THE BASTARD SONS have released their new video for 'O'Brothel Where Art Thou?' - the latest track to be taken from their new EP Roads. Shot by Ben Mills from fellow road warriors THE SMOKING HEARTS, the video sees the band in a somewhat different light as they drag up for the cameras.
Front man JJ Jackson says the song is "a modern day look at people going home with strangers from a nightclub or a bar - they could be anyone from Ted Bundy to Rose West!"
"We wanted to try and avoid the 'band in a room' video for our first one (not that there's anything wrong with them). We just wanted something a little different. Ben came up with the weirdest idea that he thought we wouldn't do. He was pretty surprised and probably quite scared when we said yes to it without hesitation. I don't know if that says something about us....”
Following the news that they will be releasing their Roads EP on March 10th via Kaiju Records, The Bastard Sons have revealed they will be giving away their debut release as a free download to fans who buy tickets for their headline EP release show at Fibbers in York on Friday, February 28th. KXM Featuring KORN, KING'S X, Ex-DOKKEN Members: 'Rescue Me' Video Released
 KXM, the new project featuring drummer Ray Luzier (KORN), bassist/vocalist Doug Pinnick (KING'S X) and guitarist George Lynch (LYNCH MOB, DOKKEN), will release its self-titled debut album on March 11 via Rat Pak Records. The CD was produced by KXM and Chris Collier, who is known for his work with LYNCH MOB, Lita Ford and Tommy Bolin, to name a few.

KXM takes its name from the combination of the members' other projects: K from KORN, X from KING'S X and M from LYNCH MOB.

In a recent interview with the "Talking Metal" podcast,Lynch stated about how KXM came together: "When you are in the music scene here, especially in Southern California, you run into everyone, everybody loves everybody, it's a mutual admiration society. You're hanging out, you are playing gigs and you run into your buds and your friends, and invariably, with all of us, it's, like, 'Let's form a project, let's do something together,' because, ya know, we all want to play together and usually it never goes anywhere, but this time it actually did. It's really amazing. Things lined up.
"Doug has been... The first time I heard KING'S X with 'Out Of The Silent Planet' and 'Gretchen Goes to Nebraska', oh, to me, he was the benchmark. The video for "100% Pure American Rage", the lead-off single from the "New Southern", can be seen below. The clip was shot, produced, and directed by Clark Deal of Chaotic Productions. "It's brutal but accessible," ANTI-MORTEM guitarist Zain Smith states about the track. "It's very political. The solos are tasty. It's new-day metal, but it has a LED ZEPPELIN-esque guitar tone and solo. There's nothing that sounds like this song out there." SABATON: First 'Heroes' Album Trailer
 The first trailer for "Heroes", the new album from Swedish metallers SABATON, can be seen below. The CD will be released on May 16 via Nuclear Blast Records. "We had the title in mind since before we even recorded 'Carolus Rex' and we already had ideas for artwork years ago," says SABATON bassist Pär Sundström. "We had a few different ones to choose from, but when we saw this one, we knew it was the right one for this album."
"Heroes" was recorded at The Abyss, the recording studio in Pärlby outside Ludvika, Sweden owned and operated by record producer and musician Peter Tägtgren (HYPOCRISY, PAIN).
"[Peter] still has some aces in his sleeves that we are sure will lift the new album," says Sundström.
SABATON played its first show with new drummer Hannes Van Dahl on November 16, 2013 at the Metal Hammer Paradise festival in Germany.
Regarding their decision to enlist Hannes Van Dahl, SABATON said in a statement: "For some time, there has been rumors about Robban [Bäck] coming back soon, or that Snowy [Shaw] would fill in for a while longer, or even take Robban's place permanently behind the drums.
"To put an end to these rumors we now present our new full-time member in SABATON: Hannes Van Dahl.
"Hannes has previously played in EVERGREY, which we have toured with in the past, and he has also worked side by side with us as drum technician for Snowy during his time in SABATON."
SABATON will return to the U.S. and Canada in April as direct support to American metallers ICED EARTH on their "Worldwide Plagues" North American tour. Opening each show on the six-week trek will be Dutch metallers REVAMP (featuring NIGHTWISH singer Floor Jansen).
SABATON's last album, "Carolus Rex", was released on May 22, 2012 via Nuclear Blast Records. The lyrics for the CD, which was made available in both English and Swedish, deal with the Swedish Empire (referring to the Kingdom of Sweden between 1561 and 1721).

DELAIN: 'Your Body Is A Battleground' Lyric Video Released
 The official lyric video for the song "Your Body Is A Battleground" from Dutch female-fronted symphonic metallers DELAIN can be seen below. The track comes off the band's new album, "The Human Contradiction", which will be released via Napalm Records on the following dates:

The CD once again features a guest appearance by Marco Hietala of NIGHTWISH and TAROT; George Oosthoek (ex-ORPHANAGE); and THE AGONIST vocalist Alissa White-Gluz.

DELAIN last year released a special album, "Interlude", via Napalm Records. The effort was described in in a press release as "a fantastic blend of brand-new songs, special versions and mixes of popular DELAIN tracks, covers, and the beautiful single 'Are You Done With Me'. Thanks to the new mix, the well-known anthem shines with a new-found splendor. The album includes a special DVD featuring exclusive live footage and clips from the band's career.

TIMO TOLKKI'S AVALON: First 'Angels Of The Apocalypse' Audio Teaser
 The first audio teaser for "Angels Of The Apocalypse" — the follow-up to TIMO TOLKKI'S AVALON's debut album, "The Land Of New Hope" from Finnish composer/producer and guitar player Timo Tolkki — can be found below. Due in May via Frontiers Records, the CD will feature guest appearances by the following singers: * Floor Jansen (NIGHTWISH, REVAMP, AFTER FOREVER)* Simone Simons (EPICA)* Fabio Lione (RHAPSODY OF FIRE, ANGRA)* David DeFeis (VIRGIN STEELE)* Elize Ryd (AMARANTHE)* Caterina Nix
Other musicians which will appear on the album include two other former members of STRATOVARIUS: Tuomo Lassila (STRATOVARIUS' founder) on drums and Antti Ikonen, the original keyboard player of STRATOVARIUS. Jansen sings lead vocals on the first single and promotional video from "Angels Of The Apocalypse". The single and the video will be made available later this month.
The recordings for the new TIMO TOLKKI'S AVALON CD took place at East Sound Studios in Helsinki, Finland.
Tolkki's sequel to his first metal opera will feature 11 tracks.
Tolkki recently described Jansen as "probably the best vocalist I have worked with in my whole career."
He added: "This has been a jaw-dropping experience and I thought I have already seen it all. Floor has proven me wrong. For example, in the 10-minute title track of the album, she delivers, in my opinion, the best vocals of her career so far.
"This song is probably the biggest sounding of my whole career, and Floor simply makes it an astonishing, almost breathtaking experience!
"We are both surprised of how amazing this has turned out to be and both very happy to hear how amazing it sounds."
To date, Timo Tolkki has sold over two million records in his career, has won a Finnish Grammy-equivalent and has been chosen by the readers of the American Guitar World magazine to Top 100 as "the fastest guitar player in the world" and "the most influential metal guitar player in the world." He has released 20 albums in his career and toured the world for over 3000 shows in 52 countries.
