JOE BONAMASSA And BETH HART To Release Live In Amsterdam CD, DVD, Blu-Ray; EPK Streaming
 Provogue Records has announced the March 24th CD, DVD & Blu-Ray release of Live In Amsterdam, the debut live recording from Grammy-nominated duo BETH HART and JOE BONAMASSA.

ONWARD - Evermoving Vinyl Edition Due In March; Artwork, Tracklisting Revealed
 Pure Steel Records will release a vinyl edition of ONWARD's Evermoving album on March 28th. The limited vinyl edition consists of 250 pieces (black). A pre-order will start on March 14th.
Says the label: "In the course of our LP re-release series (limited to 500 hand-numbered copies), we are now planning to do the first two full-length-albums of Onward. The band was created in 2000 in Montana/US by ex-CRESCENT SHIELD singer Michael Grant (who died in 2012); they played at that time very untrendy classic US power metal with some NWOBHM influences.
At the beginning of 2001 they released their debut album, Evermoving, via Century Media (only on CD). The eight power metal delicacies could definitely convince fans of old genre-classics with their classic and sophisticated double guitar harmonies and epic and abundant song structures. The vocals are majestic and melodious, sometimes in higher pitches; and the peculiar sound makes them stick out of the masses (like some years later their compatriots PHARAOH). The powerful and dynamic production by Denis Gulbey (JACK STARR, MANILLA ROAD, GOTHIC KNIGHTS) lifts this LP definitely to the top class of their genre. The very detailed cover artwork was made by Ioannis Vassilopoulos, who has worked for FATES WARNING, DREAM THEATRE and DEEP PURPLE."

The album was recorded in 444hz instead of the standardized 440hz tuning. The decision was based by studying the lost "Solfeggio frequencies", original sound frequencies which were apparently used in Ancient Gregorian Chants and were believed to impart "spiritual blessings when sung in harmony" and also by studying the nefarious origins of 440hz. Tuning to 444hz corresponds to a "C" of 528hz on the Solfeggio Frequency Scale, the exact frequency used by genetic biochemists to repair broken DNA. This frequency is also believed to encourage "Transformation and Miracles."
A press release describes the album: “Dark Forest's innate sense of melody remains intact on The Awakening, as well as the band's trademarked epic twin-guitar dueling, but this time the album is permeated by a general sense of oppression and sorrow and sounds much more reflective than their previous works. Not by coincidence, The Awakening opens with the ending lines of Percy Bysshe Shelley's poem The Mask Of Anarchy and ends with the anthem ‘Sons Of England’. The awakening must be both spiritual and intellectual and through the rediscovery of our roots and a connection to nature, must lead all humanity to remember the truth - which we are infinite consciousness and we are one. This is the realization that will defeat the global control system of the elite and set humanity free.”

DARKEST ERA Signs With Cruz Del Sur Music For Release Of Severance
 Cruz Del Sur Music has announced a deal with former Metal Blade artists DARKEST ERA for the release of the band’s new album, Severance.
Since their formation in 2005, Darkest Era have progressed their special and original 'Celtic heavy metal' formula, with epic compositions influenced by the darker side of Irish folklore as well as the classic, twin-guitar dueling of bands like THIN LIZZY and IRON MAIDEN. Severance shows more of this perfectly balanced formula with a more reflective spirit than in the past, but maintaining the untouched energetic vibe that has been the main characteristic of the band to date.
Guitarist Ade Mulgrew commented: "We are excited to be working with Cruz Del Sur to finally get this beast uncaged. The label has put out some amazing records in recent years and we feel we are in very good company."

IRON MAIDEN's BRUCE DICKINSON Launches World's Largest Aircraft AIRLANDER

DREAD SOVEREIGN Featuring PRIMORDIAL Members To Release 'All Hell's Martyrs' In March
 Dublin, ireland-based true doom trio DREAD SOVEREIGN has unveiled details of its upcoming debut full-length album. Subsequent to last year's critically acclaimed "Pray To The Devil In Man" 12-inch, the band headed to the studio last autumn to work on the follow-up release. The resulting ten-track beast of a record, entitled "All Hell's Martyrs", will be released by Ván Records in March. DREAD SOVEREIGN vocalist and bass player Nemtheanga commented: "Things come together fast on the surface, but the DREAD SOVEREIGN album has been dwelling in my subconscious for years, playing riffs to myself over the years. It's only in the last fifteen months that I've put flesh on the bones with a proper band and here we are with an album ready for Ván Records to release.
"The aspirations are difficult to explain as it's been a form of catharsis to finally get the demons out after all this time, but here it is; some gnarled and evil old school doom/metal — a few surprises and different elements here and there — but nothing more and nothing less." Recorded and mixed at Dublin's Sun Studios in September 2013, "All Hell's Martyrs" is a sepulchral trawl through the darkest recesses of heavy metal. The album artwork was created by Costin Chioreanu, whose previous credits include GRAVE, DARKTHRONE, AURA NOIR and ABSU. GUNS N' ROSES: 'Appetite For Democracy' 3D Film Coming To Theaters, DVD, Blu-Ray
 GUNS N' ROSES' 3D film, "Appetite For Democracy", will receive a theatrical release in early April. It will also be made available in several different formats, as detailed below.

BLACK VEIL BRIDES To Start Pre-Production On New Album At The End Of March
 On February 28, AMH TV conducted an interview with singer Andy Biersack of Los Angeles theatrical rockers BLACK VEIL BRIDES at the Melbourne stop of this year's Soundwave festival in Australia. You can now watch the chat below.
In a 2013 interview with Artisan News, Andy Biersack stated about the progress of the songwriting sessions for the band's follow-up to last year's "Wretched And Divine: The Story Of The Wild Ones": "We've got nothing more than some concepts, and that's usually when we do our best stuff — when we don't get too 'heady' about it and we don't try to delve too deep into something before it's ready. We did that going into 'Wretched And Divine'. Beforehand, we had started writing on the road and we went in with a producer, and it just didn't click, 'cause that's not the way that… The dynamic of the band, artistically, has never worked that way. So this [time] we're gonna try to go into it where, like we did when we finally met with [producer] John Feldmann and we made the ['Wretched And Divine'] record — we just jumped into something with a concept and that's about it. So I think that that's when we work the best — kind of that pressure-cooker situation, in a way, where you know what you wanna do and you have to do it now. But it would be nice to be able to do that over an elongated period of time as opposed to doing it in two weeks and then trying to get the record out."
He continued: "Once this cycle is over, we're not gonna be disappearing or [having] any kind of time off or anything, but I think we're not gonna be touring for a little bit — we're gonna be working on writing and then putting out a new album that is as good as it can be.
"We're always reaching for the best BLACK VEIL BRIDES record, so hopefully this next one will be that. I don't think we've done it yet."
"Wretched And Divine: The Story Of The Wild Ones" sold 42,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 7 on The Billboard 200 chart. SLIPKNOT To Begin 'Major, Major Work' On New Album In March, Says COREY TAYLOR
 SLIPKNOT frontman Corey Taylor has told U.K.'s Kerrang! magazine that the band will begin "major, major work" on its fifth album in March. 17 demos are ready for SLIPKNOT's first CD since 2008's "All Hope Is Gone" and the first since the 2010 death of bassist Paul Gray and December 2013 departure of drummer Joey Jordison, one of the band's founding members and key songwriters.
Regarding the direction of SLIPKNOT's new material, Taylor said: "I can say that, to me — and this is only my opinion — it's a cross between [2001's] 'Iowa' and [2004's] 'Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)', but that's honestly just scratching the surface. I think fans are going to be very, very excited when they hear this stuff."
He added: "I've written lyrics for everything that we have right now and it's feeling pretty good. It feels like the story of the band so far, which is a totally different take on what I've been used to writing with SLIPKNOT, but I think, because of everything we've been through, it's time to tell that story. Not just from our point of view, but from everything around us. So, yeah… it's going to be interesting. It's going to be everything you want in a SLIPKNOT album, and everything you wouldn't expect."
Taylor was unwilling to comment on anything "controversial" during his interview with Kerrang! and wouldn't discuss Jordison's exit from the band, but he did hint at deeper family problems that needed to be resolved, as he reflected how his life was during the band's break in activity.
"Last year, it felt like we put enough miles between the bad stuff and the good stuff — that we could start enjoying life again," he said. "Personally, my family took a couple of hits in the last year and a half, and it felt good to be able to let go of that deep breath we'd been holding. Professionally, I got to do a lot of stuff I wasn't expecting, which was cool, and now I'm feeling like it's time to revisit the 'KNOT and see where we're at right there. My hopes for this year are to be creative — getting that creative itch. And with the new SLIPKNOT album, I'm starting to feel that side of things."
SLIPKNOT guitarist Jim Root told The Pulse Of Radio late last year — before the news about Jordison broke — that he was feeling the urgency to make a new SLIPKNOT album. "You know, we haven't done a record since Paul's been gone and it's been pushing six years. And there's a lot of people in SLIPKNOT and a lot of fans and me myself kind of feel like it's time for that hurdle to be overcome. And for me, that's really like my number one priority and the most important thing for me right now."
SLIPKNOT has not disclosed the reasons for Jordison's exit, although the drummer issued a statement in January saying that he did not quit the band.
Root, who plays in both SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR with Taylor, sat out STONE SOUR's recent North American tour with POP EVIL and STOLEN BABIES in order to work on the new SLIPKNOT album.
Taylor told The Pulse Of Radio not long ago that he thought 2014 would be the year that SLIPKNOT came back with new music. "I know everybody is pretty keen on getting together and seeing what happens [this] year, so I mean, if it takes us a year to write an album, so be it," he said. "The main goal is to just get us in the room and just see what happens, you know. If we can get past that first day, I think it'll come together. Now that we're all kind of in better places in our lives and whatnot, it's making it a little easier to be excited about it again. It's just starting to feel like it's time."

DOWN will release a new EP, "Down IV - Part Two", on May 13 via Down Records/ADA Music. Tracked at Nodferatu's Lair — iconic vocalist Philip H. Anselmo's home studio — and produced by Michael Thompson, Anselmo and DOWN, the new EP is the eagerly anticipated sequel to "Down IV - Part One". The new offering from DOWN is packed with the quintet's signature gargantuan riffs, swamp blues leads, crashing drums and hypnotic howls, upholding a certain tradition that countless fans celebrate, expanding their own musical mythos as they leave its pillars intact and untouched. In support of the upcoming record, DOWN will take their renowned live show on the road this spring, joining BLACK LABEL SOCIETY and DEVIL YOU KNOW on a North American tour. The tour, which also includes DOWN headlining shows and festival appearances, begins at Iron City in Birmingham, Alabama on May 2, and ends at Rocklahoma in Pryor, Oklahoma on May 25. The run also includes an appearance on May 24 at Emo's in Austin at the "Rock the Heart" concert, a benefit for the late Mike Scaccia's (RIGOR MORTIS, MINISTRY) "Heart Rock" foundation, with the goal of raising awareness about heart disease.
"The Chair In The Doorway" sold around 2,800 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 159 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was written and recorded at Sono Studios outside of Prague in the Czech Republic during the fall of 2008 and spring of 2009. The results stretch from the modern soul anthem "Behind The Sun" to the politically-charged, heavy rock of "DecaDance" to the sacred steel blues of "Bless Those".
LIVING COLOUR's latest album, "The Chair In The Doorway", sold around 2,800 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 159 on The Billboard 200 chart. FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH: Video Recap Of Sydney Concert
 Las Vegas metallers FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH have uploaded behind-the-scenes and performance footage from the second show of this year's Soundwave festival on Sunday, February 23 in Brisbane, Australia. Check out the two-and-a-half-minute clip below.
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH recently selected its surprising cover of the classic folk song "The House Of The Rising Sun" as the next single from the band's recently released album, "The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell Volume 2". The disc came out on November 19, 2013 and is the second half of a two-record set, with "Volume 1" coming out in July 2013.
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH filmed a "gasoline and rocket-fuel-soaked video" for "The House Of The Rising Sun" in the desert.
According to The Pulse Of Radio, the original author of "The House Of The Rising Sun" is unknown and the song's roots may date back to the 16th century.
The oldest known existing recording is by Appalachian artists Clarence "Tom" Ashley and Gwen Foster, who recorded it for Vocalion Records in 1934.
The most successful commercial version was recorded by the English rock group THE ANIMALS in 1964, which was a No. 1 hit in the U.K., the U.S., Sweden, Finland and Canada.
The members of FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH discussed in a recently released video clip how they changed up the classic song to give it a hard-rock vibe, most notably, by switching the song's time signature from 6/8 to 4/4.
"We had the idea to do this for a while," explained guitarist Zoltan Bathory. "The interesting thing about this song is that [it's] actually in a time signature of 6/8 which is a waltz… and rock music and waltz doesn't necessarily mix right."
He continued: "So basically the challenge was: 'How do we make this song work? How do we take away that goofy vibe and how do we make it into a rock structure?'"
"The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell Volume 2" sold 77,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 2 on The Billboard 200 chart.
The first half of "The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell" debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard album chart, selling 113,000 copies in its first week of release.

Australia's MASSIVE Signs With EARACHE RECORDS
 Earache Records has announced the signing of Australian high-octane rockers MASSIVE to a multi-album recording deal which covers the world minus Australia. The band's debut album, "Full Throttle", will be released on May 19.
The four-piece formed in Melbourne in 2012 with the aim of making the loudest, fastest and ballsiest rock 'n' roll around that hits you hard and leaves you begging for more. Drawing on influences from the likes of GUNS N' ROSES and AC/DC, MASSIVE consists of notorious road dogs, having famously travelled over a thousand miles for a single show. In addition, they and were once kicked out of a Los Angeles hotel following a riotous show after inviting the whole crowd back for an impromptu after-party.
MASSIVE frontman Brad Marr comments: "We're pumped to be teaming up with Earache. The journey ahead is gonna be a fucking ripper!"

VINCE NEIL Talks Country Music Tribute To MÖTLEY CRÜE
 Big Machine Records, home to country superstars such as Taylor Swift and Tim McGraw has teamed up in a joint venture with Mötley Records and Eleven Seven Music for the summer 2014 release of a country music tribute to MÖTLEY CRÜE. Big Machine founder and CEO, Scott Borchetta, is among the legion of country music fans who love MÖTLEY CRÜE. The country tribute album will show off the band's quality songwriting with these fresh takes on their classic hit songs. Among the artists already confirmed to be featured on the country tribute album is Florida Georgia Line.
"This is a first for me, that's for sure," MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil told The Tennessean. "I think it was somebody's crazy idea that turned into reality."
Neil admitted that when he was first approached by management about the country-music tribute, he wasn't immediately sure it was a good idea.
"I was like, 'Eh, I don't know. Let me think about this one for a minute,'" he told The Tennessean. "The more I thought about it, the cooler it got, especially after Carrie Underwood did 'Home Sweet Home', and that was so good. I'm thinking to myself, 'How cool would it be to hear these other acts' renditions of the songs?'"
Until the country-music-tribute idea first came up, Neil hadn't heard of many of the artists who will appear on the set. "It's fun, because my girlfriend is a country girl," Neil said. "She's a barrel rider in the rodeo. When I showed her the names, she was like, 'Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God.' I'm like, 'Tell me, tell me. Fill me in.'"
He added: "I'm an old classic rock and roll guy. The really cool thing is I think a lot of people have heard of the name MÖTLEY CRÜE, but don't put the music to the face. I think it's going to bring a lot of fans that aren't MÖTLEY fans in. It will make them go, 'Oh yeah, I've heard that song before.'" | 0 | |

MISERY INDEX To Release 'The Killing Gods' In May
 American death metal extremists MISERY INDEX have set "The Killing Gods" as the title of their forthcoming full-length album. The band's fifth studio CD will arrive on May 23 via Season Of Mist.
"The Killing Gods" was recorded at Wright Way Studios in Baltimore, Maryland and was engineered by Steve Carr (DYING FETUS, SLIPKNOT, SOILWORK). The drum parts were tracked with Scott Hull (PIG DESTROYER, AGORAPHOBIC NOSEBLEED, BLACK TUSK, BRUTAL TRUTH) at Visceral Sound in Bethesda, Maryland.
Comments MISERY INDEX bassist/vocalist Jason Netherton: "After an extended writing and recording process we have finally completed 'The Killing Gods'. MEGAHERZ Signs With NAPALM RECORDS
 German rockers MEGAHERZ have inked a deal with the Austrian label Napalm Records.
Following their highly lauded breakthrough album "Kopfschuss" and subsequent critically acclaimed releases, the band is currently working on a new album, to be released this fall on Napalm Records.
Alexander Wohnhaas and Christian Bystron of MEGAHERZ commented on the signing: "This is an important step for us.
"Napalm Records is a partner with a lot of experience and will present great opportunities for us.
"For the next album, we absolutely want to go the extra mile and we already confident in a very good company like Napalm.
