SPIRITUAL BEGGARS: Classic Titles To Be Reissued
 SPIRITUAL BEGGARS — the Swedish band featuring ARCH ENEMY guitarist Michael Amott and bassist Sharlee D'Angelo, along with vocalist Apollo Papathanasio (ex-FIREWIND) — will embark on a European tour in October, with U.K.'s PURSON as special guests.
Just in time for the upcoming tour, SPIRITUAL BEGGARS will reissue two of its classic catalog titles on October 14: the band's 2005 "Demons" album will be available for the first time ever on vinyl via InsideOut Music; and their acclaimed and hard-to-find debut LP, the self-titled "Spiritual Beggars" from 1994, will be re-released with over 70 minutes of unreleased bonus material via Century Media Records. SPIRITUAL BEGGARS' eighth studio album, "Earth Blues", was released on April 16 (one day earlier internationally) via InsideOut Music.
Amott previously stated about the new CD: "I had the idea for this artwork from my time as a child, seeing posters of two young lovers watching a romantic sunset on the beach — just your typical tacky bedroom art in the '70s, really... Also, growing up in what is now referred to with some nostalgia as the Atomic Age — the threat of nuclear war was always looming over our heads it seemed. I wanted to combine these two images of my youth in one paradoxical image and Per Wiberg of Hippograffix (and SPIRITUAL BEGGARS keyboardist) really managed to capture the melancholic feeling perfectly. Earth Blues, indeed."
Regarding the making of "Earth Blues", Amott said: "We started the recording process of 'Earth Blues' with an eight-day-long session at Fat Guitar Studios (Sweden) with knob-twiddler Roberth Ekholm, a truly great dude who really knows how to capture a band jamming live, sadly a rare quality in recording engineers nowadays! We continued with some overdubs at various studios in Sweden, and it's all come together super easy this time. Sonically, I think this might be our finest hour yet. It's a raw, heavy and honest record."

Germany's WACKEN OPEN AIR Festival To Celebrate 25th Anniversary Next Year
 KING DIAMOND and ARCH ENEMY are among the first announced acts for the 25th-anniversary edition of the Wacken Open Air festival, set to take place July 31 - August 2, 2014 in Wacken, Germany.

Described as "the biggest heavy metal festival in the world," this year's Wacken Open Air featured performances by over 100 acts, including ALICE COOPER, DEEP PURPLE and MOTÖRHEAD.
All 75,000 tickets to this year's Wacken Open Air were sold as of last September — a little more than a month after being made available. This marked the eighth time in a row that Wacken Open Air was sold out and it was the event's fastest sellout ever.
Around 30 percent travel from other countries to the festival, which over recent years has been growing in popularity.

Video: MEGADETH Joined By RECYCLED ORCHESTRA For Trash Metal Rendition Of 'Symphony'
 Fan-filmed video footage of MEGADETH performing its classic song "Symphony Of Destruction" with Paraguay's Recycled Orchestra last night (Friday, August 2) in Broomfield, Colorado can be seen below.
The brainchild of Favio Chávez, a landfill worker and musician from Cateura — regarded as one of the poorest slums in Latin America where impoverished families make their living recycling and selling other people's garbage — the Recycled Orchestra features Chávez and an inspiring group of children who play instruments made completely from the trash in the landfill.
"One day it occurred to me to teach music to the children of the recyclers and use my personal instruments," Chávez, who worked as an ecological technician at the landfill, told The Telegraph. "But it got to the point that there were too many students and not enough supply. So that's when I decided to experiment and try to actually create a few."
This inspirational story will be told in an upcoming feature-length documentary called "Landfill Harmonic", tentatively due in 2014. According to the filmmakers, the documentary shows "how trash and recycled materials can be transformed into beautiful-sounding musical instruments, but more importantly, it brings witness to the transformation of precious human beings."

PRIMAL FEAR Issues New Album Update
 German metallers PRIMAL FEAR last month entered the studio to begin laying down drums for their as-yet-untitled next studio album for an early 2014 release via Frontiers Records.
In a brand new posting on the PRIMAL FEAR Facebook page, the band writes: "It's the final day at the House Of Music Studios in Germany; drums, guitars, bass and all specials delivered. We've recorded 12 tracks including two epic songs, one guitar ballad, and nine crushing metal songs with all the trademarks you know and love to hear from PRIMAL FEAR.
"The album is produced by [producer/bassist] Mat Sinner, engineered by Achim Köhler [EDGUY, MASTERPLAN]. Mixing duties will be handled in September by Jacob Hansen [VOLBEAT] at Hansen Studios in Denmark."
Frontiers and PRIMAL FEAR in January announced that they have renewed their partnership for another multi-album deal, which will include two more studio releases and one live CD and DVD.
PRIMAL FEAR's latest album, "Unbreakable", sold around 600 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 44 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

Metal Mind Productions recently released the two-CD version of Blaze Bayley's "Alive In Poland" (previously available only as part of the limited-edition "Alive In Poland" DVD) in Europe and North America.
"Alive In Poland" was recorded in Poland in April 2007 during the 21st edition of Metalmania festival in Katowice, Poland. It features a fantastic, over-one-and-a-half-hour show during which Blaze presented the best tracks from his discography, as well as select tracks from IRON MAIDEN ("Man On The Edge", "Futureal").
Bayley's latest studio album, "The King Of Metal", was released in March 2012. The CD was recorded at Fear Studio in Ravenna, Italy.
The 49-year-old Bayley, who was born in Birmingham, was the original frontman in WOLFSBANE, but left in 1994 to replace Bruce Dickinson as the lead singer of IRON MAIDEN.

THE WINERY DOGS: Fan-Filmed Footage Of Buenos Aires Concert

THE WINERY DOGS is the power trio featuring drummer Mike Portnoy (DREAM THEATER, AVENGED SEVENFOLD, ADRENALINE MOB), legendary bassist Billy Sheehan (MR. BIG, TALAS, DAVID LEE ROTH) and Richie Kotzen (MR. BIG, POISON).
The self-titled debut album from THE WINERY DOGS sold around 10,200 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 27 on The Billboard 200 chart.
"The Winery Dogs" was released in North America on July 23 via Loud & Proud Records and in Japan on May 15 via Victor Entertainment. The CD was mixed by Jay Ruston, who has previously worked with ANTHRAX, ADRENALINE MOB, STONE SOUR and STEEL PANTHER. Sheehan previously stated about the effort: "I'm really pleased with it. Richie sang his ass off and played amazingly unique stuff, and, of course Mike annihilated on drums. [It's a] really cool, unique record."
"In all of my years in this business, I've always been part of either a progressive band or a metal band," said Portnoy. "This is the first time I've been in an all-original band that's just a rock band in the vein of LED ZEPPELIN or VAN HALEN."
He added: "It's so refreshing to just play straight-ahead music with lots of twists. Obviously, the musicianship is great in this band, but it's very song-oriented."
Regarding how THE WINERY DOGS got its name, Portnoy said: "It was Richie's name. We had a list of about 50 names. I had about 10 that I preferred over THE WINERY DOGS, but you know, when you're in a band, you have to give and take and choose your battles, and Richie really, really loved this band name. So, you know, it was, like, 'OK.' A name is a name. If you feel that strongly about it, then go for it. So that's who we are."

WACKEN OPEN AIR Organizers Comment On MOTÖRHEAD's Abbreviated Performance, LEMMY's Health
 The organizers of the Wacken Open Air festival have commented on MOTÖRHEAD's abbreviated performance at this year's event due to frontman Lemmy Kilmister's health.
The band played only six songs last night (Friday, August 2) before leaving the stage, effectively pulling the plug on what was supposed to be a 75-minute concert.
MOTÖRHEAD canceled a handful of shows on its European festival tour last month after Lemmy, suffered a haematoma (where blood collects outside of a blood vessel). The news of Lemmy's latest medical issue followed reports that he was also recently fitted with a defibrillator because of heart problems.
In a statement issued earlier today, the Wacken organizers said: "MOTÖRHEAD rocked the Black Stage for more than 30 minutes and Lemmy gave everything he's got to play an amazing live show. He's keeping well — but the temperatures and circumstances led to the point that continuing the show would have lead to a loss of quality.
"We are very happy and proud that Phil [Campbell], Mikkey [Dee] and particularly Mr. Rock 'N' Roll himself, Lemmy Kilmister, played W:O:A 2013 and that they did everything humanly possible to play this gig. Thank you so much, guys!"

Ex-MEGADETH Drummer NICK MENZA To Guest On SUFOSIA Album
 Former MEGADETH drummer Nick Menza will lay down the drum tracks on the song "Insolent Scum" from Croatian melodic thrash metal band SUFOSIA. The track will appear on SUFOSIA's as-yet-untitled second CD, tentatively due in 2014.
Comments SUFOSIA: "To have someone you've admire like your music is huge. Having Nick play your song is totally another level."
Adds Menza: "SUFOSIA is totally pumped, shredding-your-face, shut-the-fuck-up metal!"
Founded in 2006, SUFOSIA was noticed by the global metal community when it released a 2009 live cover version of MEGADETH's "Hanger 18" via YouTube, receiving well over 12,000 views in the first month of its release (the clip has since been seen more than 150,000 times).
MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson reportedly said about SUFOSIA's cover version of "Hangar 18": "It sounds really, really good!"
SUFOSIA took advantage of the digital platform In March of 2011 when its released its first full-length album, "Inspiration Breakdown".

BODYFARM - 'The Well Of Decay' Track Streaming
 Dutch death metal hopefuls BODYFARM reveal the first new track from their upcoming album, The Coming Scourge. The album was recorded from February until May in Oeknal studios with Harry van Breda and will be released on September 20th via Cyclone Empire. The artwork was created by renowned Underground-artist Juanjo Castellano (VOMITORY, REVEL IN FLESH, etc.) and will be revealed soon.

MOTÖRHEAD's WACKEN OPEN AIR Performance Cut Short Due To LEMMY's Health
MOTÖRHEAD was forced to end its performance at the Wacken Open Air festival in Wacken, Germany earlier today (Friday, August 2) after only six songs due to frontman Lemmy Kilmister's health.
According to people attending the concert, MOTÖRHEAD spent less than half an hour on stage — 45 minutes less than scheduled — including drawn-out pauses between tracks and an unusually early solo spot, presumably to allow Lemmy enough time to gather his strength to perform.
After MOTÖRHEAD left the stage, Wacken Open Air co-founder Thomas Jensen announced to the shocked audience that the concert was over.
Bill Peters, host of the long-running "Metal On Metal" radio show and head of Auburn Records, was in the crowd during MOTÖRHEAD's set. He said: "[Lemmy] did not look or sound good at all and could not continue the set.
"Phil Campbell did a guitar solo before 'The Chase Is Better Than The Catch' while Lemmy left the stage. The solo ended but Lemmy did not return. There was eerie silence on the stage for several minutes. Lemmy came back to play one more song (my favorite MOTÖRHEAD song) but left the stage immediately after it ended. Wacken festival organizer Thomas Jensen came onstage and announced to the crowd he did not know what to do or say about a situation like this. It seemed very serious to me. Hopefully I am wrong."

THE BROWNING Release Lyric Video ‘Gravedigger’; Reveal Album Details
 THE BROWNING have released an official lyric video for the first single from their upcoming new album, Hypernova. The new track, titled ‘Gravedigger’, features The Browning's trademark electronics expertly blended with crushing metal riffs.
Frontman Jonny Mcbee comments: "It has been a crazy two years for The Browning. We have done crazy tours all over the world and I am so proud of everything we have accomplished! But our new album, Hypernova, is my proudest thing to be a part of in my life. LUX OCCULTA Return With New Single, Album; Track Streaming
 Polish avant-garde metal masters LUX OCCULTA break their silence after 12 years and have released a new single, 'Dymy'. This is only a foretaste of their upcoming fifth album, entitled Kolysanki (which means "lullabies" in Polish), and will be released in the fall.

Lux Occulta (which is Latin for "hidden light" or "the secrets of light") were founded in late 1994. Their work, also strongly influenced by progressive metal and black metal, commonly incorporates elaborate arrangements often featuring multiple sections and unpredictable time changes.
The band was started when guitarists Peter and G'Ames asked Jaro.Slav, currently well known Polish music journalist and author of Slayer biography No Mercy, to join their new project. Jackie (bass guitar) and Aemil (drums) joined the band few weeks later, followed by keyboard player U.Reck after the band's first rehearsal session. After the recording in 1996 of the band's first full album, Forever Alone, Immortal, Aemil was replaced by drummer Kriss.
The band's second album, Dionysos, followed in 1997. In 1998, after the release of Maior Arcana, G'Ames and Jackie were asked to leave the band; their replacements were guitarist Vogg and bassist Martin, also of the Polish death metal band DECAPITATED. A lengthy recording succession with the new lineup yielded My Guardian Anger, which was released in 1999. After several months' hiatus from
performing, the band played Poland's Metalmania Festival in 2000, which drew the attention of the Portuguese label Maquiavel Music. The next month they were signed to the label for a two-album deal, and the first of their albums on MM, The Mother And The Enemy, appeared the following year.
The band has been mostly dormant since 2002, although they posted a message to their MySpace some years afterward indicating that they were working on new materia. In 2012 it was announced that Lux Occulta had begun recording a new album.

EQUILIBRIUM – First Part Of Facebook Fan Interview Streaming
 With the release of their first ever EP Waldschrein in August ahead, German epic metal heroes EQUILIBRIUM have now gave their fans the chance to directly address questions to the band in a Facebook Interview. The result of this interaction in the middle of Bavarian nowhere is now available in two videos – the first one has just been published online.
Produced by guitarist René Berthiaume in Helion Studios and mixed and mastered by the Resetti Brothers – namely Joerg Umbreit and Vincent Sorg – in their Principal Studios, Waldschrein encompasses the brand-new title track and an acoustic version of the same song, plus a re-recorded and extended version of 'Der Sturm' from Turis Fratyr (originally sung by ex-vocalist Helge Stange, now by frontman Robse Dahn). Moreover, it contains 'Zwergenhammer' - a previously unreleased older song, as well as an amazing cover version of famous video game Skyrim’s opening theme.
The band commented: “We’re really looking forward to releasing this EP, because we all have to wait until next year for our next full-length album to be released. This makes it the perfect chance to release some songs and recordings that didn’t make it on any regular album because they are so exclusive. The best thing yet is that with Waldschrein we can provide the fans with a little foretaste for what expects them in 2014!”

SAWTHIS To Release Youniverse Album In September Via Bakerteam Records; DEATH ANGEL's Rob Cavestany To Guest
 Italian modern thrashers SAWTHIS will release their new album, Youniverse, on Sepember 30th via Bakerteam Records. The new album was recorded at Potemkin Studios with Paolo Ojetti as artistic producer, who worked on the previous album, Egod. Guitar and bass recordings were completed at Underroom Studios.
The successor to the band's Egod album will sound more thrash oriented and will be a concept album based on the theme of multiple personality disorder and features a very special guest appearance by Rob Cavestany from DEATH ANGEL. More details to follow
Earlier this year, Sawthis parted ways with guitarist Andrea Giordano, due to musical differences. He has been replaced by Janos Murri (ex-RESURRECTURIS, DARKSIDE, DEMOLITION), who has already performed with the band on two European tours.

WILSON Premier 'College Gangbang' Video
 Detroit, Michigan's WILSON have premiered their new video, for the track 'College Gangbang', from their recently released debut album, Full Blast Fuckery.
The video was created by Detroit filmmakers Nick Ferguson and Raymond Rivard, who recently joined forces under the name Club Davison. The clip was filmed at the legendary Metal Frat in Ann Arbor, MI.
In support of the new album, Wilson is ready to hit the road. The band has teamed up with THE GREENERY for a co-headlining North American Tour billed as the Pillage and Destroy tour.
The tour kicks off August 9th in Toledo, OH and runs through September 8th in Anaheim, CA. Support on the tour will be provided by AMERICAN FANGS from August 9th through September 2nd, and then from THE ONGOING CONCEPT from September 4th - 8th. A complete list of dates can be found below.

Germany's PRIMAL FEAR have checked in from the studio, where they are working on a new full length album:

Primal Fear drummer Randy Black (DUSKMACHINE) has been confirmed to perform at this year's Dresdner Drum & Bass Festival, which takes place on September 21st in Dresden, Germany. Go to this location for event information.
The 2013 edition of the annual Rock Meets Classic European tour kicked off on February 18th in Berlin, Germany and ended on March 17th in Zürich, Switzerland. Black checked in with the following update at tour's end:

AGATHOCLES, HOGRA To Release 7” Split
 In conjunction with At War With False Noise, Jerkoff Records and Blackseed Records, Unholy Anarchy Records is set to release a brand new split 7” featuring Belgian grind gods AGATHOCLES and HOGRA. The split is scheduled for an early September release.
Agathocles has been around for over 25 years and in that time has appeared on well over 100 split 7” releases, as well as numerous comps, EPs, demos and full-length albums. This release sees the legendary trio take an unexpected departure from their traditional and patented mincecore style of grind and unleash two tracks that were written to compliment the power electronics of Pittsburgh's Hogra, who have built a solid catalog of splits, tapes and EPs over the past year.

ORANSSI PAZUZU To Release New Album In October
 Svart Records and 20 Buck Spin have announced the joint release of Valonielu, the new LP from Finland’s ORANSSI PAZUZU.
A press release describes the album: “A known entity to the most attentive and adventurous of black metal fans, Valonielu offers a vibrant, colorful cataclysm of psych, space rock and black metal that cannot be easily categorized as any one particular genre or any single influence. At once celestial and boundless yet malevolent grim and harsh, Valonielu is certain to bring Oranssi Pazuzu to new levels of importance within the modern music scene.

 San Francisco Bay Area thrashers KILL RITUAL's new single, 'Harder Than Stone', is now available on all digital stores: Amazon, iTunes, etc. and as free download via Rock N Growl Records.
Initially recorded during the basic tracking sessions of the The Serpentine Ritual CD, 'Harder Than Stone' is yet another gem in the catalog of Kill Ritual. The track showcases the unique songwriting of the band and their relentless pursuit of song craft and validity.

Clocking in at 7 minutes, the song has many twist and turns and shows the depth of the band and their many influences. The new song was recorded, mixed and mastered at Fossil Sound by Steve Rice.
Kill Ritual recently welcomed new drummer Gee Anzalone (BRAINDAMAGE) to the fold. A graduate of the NAM Academy in Milano and an in-demand drum teacher at GM Drum School in Torino Italy.
Guitarist Steve Rice comments on the bands new skin basher: “Gee is a world class addition to the band. After witnessing him tear it up on Dethklok, Machine Head and Pantera tunes we knew we found our guy! We’d like to thank all the drummers that submitted and believe us it was a tough call, but we definitely found the right guy.”

Polish Heavy Metal Fan Dies Of 'Natural Causes' At Germany's WACKEN OPEN AIR Festival
According to Deutsche Welle, a 52-year-old Polish heavy metal fan was found dead earlier today (Friday, August 2) in his tent at this year's Wacken Open Air festival in Wacken, Gemany. In a statement, the festival organizers said that the man "died of natural causes."
It's not Wacken's first such case. The accidental death of a young man cast a shadow over last year's festival as well. That man died of carbon monoxide poisoning while lying under a trailer tarpaulin.
Described as "the biggest heavy metal festival in the world," Wacken Open Air features performances by over 100 acts, including ALICE COOPER, DEEP PURPLE and MOTÖRHEAD.
All 75,000 tickets to this year's year's edition of the Wacken Open Air festival were sold as of last September — a little more than a month after being made available. This marked the eighth time in a row that Wacken Open Air was sold out and it was the event's fastest sellout ever.
