RAMMSTEIN: Making Of 'Ausländer' Video
German industrial metallers RAMMSTEIN have released behind-the-scenes footage from the making of the official video for their song "Ausländer". The track is taken from the band's seventh, untitled album, which came out on May 17 via UME/Spinefarm in Europe and Caroline Records in the U.S. The band's first studio disc since 2009's "Liebe Ist Für Alle Da" was produced by Olsen Involtini with RAMMSTEIN and was mixed at a Santa Monica, California studio with Rich Costey, an American producer who has previously worked with MUSE, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and FRANZ FERDINAND, among others.
RAMMSTEIN guitarist Richard Kruspe told Metal Wani about the making of the band's new album: "Well, when I thought to do another RAMMSTEIN record, I was like, 'No, I'm going to do that. I'm not going through more suffering.' That was four years ago. But what we did in the beginning is we said 'Let's get together and try to come up with three or four songs.' We didn't really put any pressure on us, which was very important at this time. While we were starting to rehearse and stuff and getting ideas, I thought, 'Wow, it's actually very good. Things have changed.' All of a sudden, there's a certain kind of respect that I always missed a little bit. We just had good chemistry, which reminded me of the first time when we started. Then I felt, like, 'What would interest me on a new RAMMSTEIN record?' I thought, 'Every time people talk RAMMSTEIN, it's about fire. It's all about the show.' Nobody talks about the music anymore for RAMMSTEIN, and it kind of bothered me. I was thinking, 'I want to do another record. It has to be musical in a way that can really stand out from other records.' That was my goal, or our goal."
As for the disc's musical direction and how it compares to the band's previous efforts, Kruspe said: "It's so hard to say it, because I'm working four years on the record, I'm so close. I think when I listen to the record — it's almost 'RAMMSTEIN 3D' is how I describe it."
RAMMSTEIN will embark on a European stadium tour in 2020. The trek will kick off next May and include shows in Germany, Austria, Poland, Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Northern Ireland.

SYMPHONY X's RUSSELL ALLEN Injured In Fall During TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA Rehearsals
SYMPHONY X vocalist Russell Allen "slipped and fell" during rehearsals for this year's TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA tour. As a result, he may miss some or all of the dates on the "TSO East" portion of the 2019 holiday trek, "Christmas Eve and Other Stories", which will kick off on November 13 and conclude on December 30. The tour brings to life TSO's 1996 debut album of the same name, and the first in its Christmas-themed trilogy, which includes 1998's "The Christmas Attic" and 2004's "The Lost Christmas Eve".
TSO revealed Allen's injury in a Facebook post earlier today. The band wrote: "We are here in the midwest preparing to give you one of the most exciting TSO productions you have ever seen. During rehearsal, Russell Allen slipped and fell. Russell is in good spirits but in a bit of pain. We are doing everything necessary to assure Russell is taken care of. We hope he is able to make it out on the road in the near future but our concern is that he rests so he can make a full recovery."
Back in July 2017, Allen was involved in a road accident that resulted in the death of his ADRENALINE MOB and TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA bandmate, bass player David Zablidowsky. Russell escaped with minor injuries and returned to the stage with TSO in November of that year.
"Christmas Eve And Other Stories", from TSO's late founder, composer/lyricist Paul O'Neill, tells the tale of a young angel who is sent to Earth to discover the good of humanity. The story celebrates such themes as "strangers helping strangers" and "the kindness of others," as it takes listeners around the world.
Since its historic touring debut, TSO has played nearly 2,000 winter tour shows for more than 16 million fans, with tour grosses of more than $725 million, and has sold in excess of 12 million albums and DVDs. Year after year, TSO hits the upper reaches of the domestic and worldwide tour charts. Recently in July 2019, TSO was ranked No. 6 on Pollstar's North American Tours Mid Year chart and No. 8 on Pollstar's Worldwide Tours Mid Year chart. In 2018, TSO came in at No. 16 on Pollstar's 2018 Top 200 Year End North American Tours and at No. 17 on Pollstar's 2018 Year End Worldwide Ticket Sales Top 100 Tours chart with more than 925,000 tickets sold. Additionally, in July 2019, TSO was featured in Billboard's Money Makers of 2018. In 2009, Pollstar ranked TSO at No. 20 on the "Top Tour(s) of the Decade" and Billboard placed TSO at No. 25 on its "Top Touring Artists of the Decade."
We are here in the midwest preparing to give you one of the most exciting TSO productions you have ever seen. During...

UFO To Continue 'Last Orders' Tour In 2020
UFO just wrapped the initial North American leg of the "Last Orders" tour, but fear not, the tour is not over yet and the band is pleased to announce new North American tour dates for 2020. These shows kick off February 13 in Medina, Minnesota and run through March 2. Included in this run is a co-headline gig with BLUE ÖYSTER CULT and an appearance on the "Rock Legends" cruise.
Tour dates:
Feb. 13 - Medina, MN @ Medina Entertainment Center
Feb. 14 - Waukegen, IL @ Genese Theater
Feb. 16 - Cleveland, OH @ Agora Theater
Feb. 18 - New Bedford, MA @ The Vault @ Greasy Luck
Feb. 19 - Sellersville, PA @ Sellersville Theater
Feb. 20 - Annapolis, MD @ Ram’s Head Live
Feb. 21 - Leesburg, VA @ Tally Ho
Feb. 23 - Atlanta, GA @ Variety Theater (with BLUE ÖYSTER CULT)
Feb. 25 - Ponte Vedra Beach, FL @ Ponte Vedra Concert Hall
Feb. 26 - Clearwater, FL @ Capitol Theater
Feb. 27 - Mar. 2 - Rock Legends Cruise
The British rock legends have been rejoined by Neil Carter as they continue their 50th-anniversary "Last Orders" tour following the recent passing of Paul Raymond.
Raymond died from a heart attack on April 13, just days after UFO completed the U.K. and Ireland leg of "Last Orders" tour with a sold-out show at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire.
Neil was previously in UFO between 1981 and 1983, having played on the albums "The Wild, The Willing And The Innocent", "Mechanix" and "Making Contact". Before he joined UFO, he was in WILD HORSES, and he later continued his career with Gary Moore.
In a statement, UFO said: "On April 13th 2019, the UFO family got the tragic news that our bandmate Paul Raymond had died of a heart attack. It had been just a week since we finished the first leg of our 'Last Orders' tour in the U.K. While mourning his loss, sadly we also had to face the reality of what to do with the band. We feel moving forward with the tour is the right thing to do. We all know this is what Paul would have wanted us to do. We are therefore very pleased to announce that our friend and former bandmate Neil Carter has agreed to join us again and take over the keyboards/guitar and vocals slot for the remainder of the tour. Neil was already part of the family between 1981 and 1983, playing on the albums 'The Wild, The Willing And The Innocent', 'Mechanix' and 'Making Contact'. Before he joined UFO, he was in WILD HORSES, later he continued his career with Gary Moore. Together with Neil, we will bring our 2019 'Last Orders' tour to a close. We want to make sure that all our amazing fans get a fantastic experience out of it one more time."
While many veteran bands in such a position simply cease playing live and continue to record, UFO will no longer be releasing new music. The covers collection "The Salentino Cuts" (2017) is set to become a signing-off point.
Raymond was recruited by UFO in 1976 to replace the band's first keyboardist, Danny Peyronel. When Michael Schenker left UFO, Raymond joined Schenker's MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP and later hooked up with Pete Way in WAYSTED.
Raymond appeared on more than a dozen of UFO's albums, including "Lights Out" and the live classic "Strangers In The Night".

KISS's TOMMY THAYER: Putting 'Spaceman' Makeup On For Last Time Will Be 'Very Emotional Experience'
Tommy Thayer, who joined KISS in February 2003, stepping into the boots the band's original guitarist, Ace Frehley, was asked in a new interview with The Rockpit what it it like putting on the "Spaceman"makeup for the first time, and what he thinks it will be like putting it on for the last time when the group plays the final show of its "End Of The Road" tour. He responded: "Well, the first time that I put it on was when I did my first show with KISS. I wasn't officially in the band at the time; I was really just filling in. It was a private concert we did down in Jamaica in 2002. And, obviously, there's a lot of excitement and anticipation in doing that, but also a certain level of maybe anxiety or nervousness, to be honest with you, because those are huge boots, or shoes [laughs] to fill and to go out there and do that. So there were a lot of emotions with that for me, because, honestly, to begin with, you're almost in a 'no-win' situation with people, because they're really scrutinizing you — all eyes are on you — and they're all trying to determine if you're up to snuff or not. I think, fortunately, I pulled it off pretty well, but it's been a big growing experience and a big developing experience being in a band like this over the years. I obviously feel very comfortable where I am now, but it took a while for me to find that comfort zone. As far as putting the makeup on for the last time, I think that's going to be a very emotional experience, and I think it's going to be a mix of all kinds of feelings — a celebration and excitement, but, on the other hand, maybe a little bit of sadness at the end."
Two and a half years ago, Thayer told The Aquarian Weekly that he wasn't bothered by the fact that a small segment of KISS's fanbase can't accept him performing in the "Spaceman" makeup and attire, even though he has been working with KISS for decades and been the group's lead guitarist for more than 15 years. "You can't be fooled by a handful people that go on web sites and complain," he said. "Some people complain about everything, really, not just who's the guitar player. In that context, it doesn't really mean anything to me. If anything, I chuckle and smile when I hear things like that. It really has nothing to do with what's happening in reality. Put it this way: KISS continues to go out and play big shows and be the phenomenon that it is. I give more merit to that fact, than what a few oddballs say online. I don't really care."
In 2014, Frehley spoke out against Thayer in an interview, describing him as "just a guy up there copying me and trying to move like me and trying to sing like me and trying to play like me." But Thayer declined to fire back at Frehley, telling Australia's The Herald: "I don't want to get into a back-and-forth, but I'm sure you can kind of assess what you think when you hear all that." He continued: "I think [Ace] had every opportunity in the world to continue in KISS and be in KISS as long as he did the right thing, but it worked out better for me and he has to lead his life. As far as the jabs and all that, he can say that stuff and I'm not going to say anything bad about him."
Last weekend, KISS announced 75 new shows as part of its "End Of The Road" farewell tour, including what it says will be its last show ever, set to take place in New York City on July 17, 2021.
KISS's current lineup consists of original members Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, alongside later band additions, Thayer and drummer Eric Singer (on and off since 1991).
Formed in 1973 by Stanley, Simmons, Frehley and drummer Peter Criss, KISS staged its first "farewell" tour in 2000, the last to feature the group's original lineup.
In its 46-year career, KISS has accumulated 23 gold and platinum albums — more than any other U.S. band. | +2

BOB KULICK Says His 'Back-Stabbing' Brother BRUCE KULICK Has Restraining Order Against Him
Legendary guitarist and record producer Bob Kulick has gone public with his dispute with his brother, former KISS guitarist Bruce Kulick.
On Friday, Bob made a public post on his personal Facebook page as as well as on his Instagram accusing his brother of contributory "copyright infringement" over the sale of "Kulick Brothers" merchandise items, including a signed photo. According to Bob, the items are being made available via Kiss Army Merchandise with permission from Bruce only.
"I have NOT given permission for this and have not been accounted to or paid for merchandise SOLD bearing my name and photos with my likeness," he wrote. "This is called COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT and an indication to all of you as to where my back stabbing Brother Bruce is in all this ! Disgraceful , uncalled for and a situation that will be answered in time !"
Bob went on to say that Bruce "has a restraining order" against him, but didn't offer any more details about the circumstances that led to the order being issued.
During 2017's "Kiss Kruise VII", the Kulick brothers played a 13-song set that featured 10 rarely performed KISS songs such as "Turn On The Night" and "All American Man", as well as three classics from Paul Stanley's 1978 solo album (on which Bob performed). That same year, Bob released a solo album, "Skeletons In The Closet".
Throughout his 40-plus-year music career, Bob Kulick has worked with an astonishing array of artists: from Meat Loaf to MOTÖRHEAD; from KISS to Michael Bolton; W.A.S.P. to Diana Ross; as well as legends such as Roger Daltrey, Alice Cooper, Lou Reed and Paul Stanley's first solo LP and tour.
Bob began his musical profession at 16 — when most high schoolers are still trying to figure out where they're going in life — appearing on the 1966 album "Winchester Cathedral" from the RANDOM BLUES BAND, the "baby band" that Bob played in that played The Café Wha in New York's Greenwich Village alongside Jimmy James and the BLUE FLAMES (later rechristened Jimi Hendrix).
1973 saw Kulick make the connection that he has been associated the most with throughout his career. He auditioned for — and got passed over by — KISS. Instead of being dejected, the six-stringer aligned himself with the band over the years, playing on the studio material on "Kiss Alive II", providing solos on the "Killers" album, co-writing "Naked City" from "Unmasked" and guesting on Paul Stanley's 1979 solo album and tour a decade later. He even suggested his brother to the band.
Bruce Kulick joined KISS in 1984 and remained with the band until the group's original lineup reunited in 1996. He joined GRAND FUNK RAILROAD in 2000 and continues to perform with the group to this day.
Bob discussed his growing frustrations with people within the KISS camp, including his brother, during an October 2019 interview with "Rock Talk With Mitch Lafon". You can listen to the chat below.

VINNIE VINCENT Is Open To Joining KISS On Stage During 'End Of The Road' Tour
Former KISS guitarist Vinnie Vincent says that he is open to the possibility of making an appearance during the band's "End Of The Road" tour.
Vinnie joined KISS in 1982, replacing Ace Frehley. As the "Ankh Warrior," he toured with the group in support of "Creatures Of The Night", on which he played lead guitar on six songs prior to becoming an official member of the band.
Asked in a new interview with "Rock And Roll Experience With Mike Brunn" what he would say if he was approached to get up on stage with KISS during the band's farewell tour, Vinnie said (hear audio below): "Well, it's not something I've thought about lately. I think there was something that my lawyer had been in contact with them about a year ago. As far as I know, nothing came of it. And it wasn't something I thought about — after that moment had passed, it wasn't anything I thought about anymore.
"I don't know what they're doing. I don't wanna assume anything — it's not for me to second guess. It seems like they've got the band that they're doing this with. I don't know if they're having past members play — I don't know."
After host Mike Brunn interjected that KISS has not yet played with any former members during the "End Of The Road" trek, Vinnie continued: "Well, that's as far as my thoughts go with it. If this is something that they want to approach, all they've gotta do is give me a call, and we'll take it from there."
Earlier this month, KISS manager Doc McGhee claimed that all former members of the group have been contacted about possibly taking part in the band's last-ever tour.
Prior to the "End Of The Road" launch, Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons weren't very enthusiastic about the prospect of an onstage collaboration with Vinnie Vincent. "Now Vinnie, that's one exception, and for so many reasons," Stanley told Guitar World. "I would say that's not someone who I want to celebrate."
Simmons also chimed in, explaining that "it's worth stating that Vinnie has sued the band and lost 14 times. I'm not here to cast any aspersions. He's a talented guy. That's why he was in the band. But would I depend on him to get up onstage and do anything? Never. … Can he come to the shows? Of course! Anybody can. But onstage? Never."
Vincent — who was a member of KISS when the band publicly "unmasked" in 1983 — made several public appearances last year after spending the past two decades out of the public eye.
In 1983, KISS wrote and released "Lick It Up" — their first album without makeup — a recording on which Vincent co-wrote eight of 10 songs, including the title track, which remains a staple of the group's live performances to this day.
Despite the album's success, Vincent was fired by KISS after the "Lick It Up" touring cycle came to an end, allegedly due to a dispute over both the terms of his employment contract with the band and royalties. From there, Vincent founded VINNIE VINCENT INVASION, which recorded two albums.
In 1992, Vincent re-teamed with Simmons and Stanley to write three songs for their acclaimed album "Revenge", including the record's first two singles, "Unholy" and "I Just Wanna". Their relationship quickly soured once again, however. Four years later, Vincent released a solo EP, "Euphoria", which featured vocals by former VVI singer Fleischman and included material from sessions recorded around 1990. Soon after that, Vincent vanished from the public eye and remained off the grid for more than two decades.
Vincent recently announced that he will host "Vinnie Vincent's Merry Metal Christmas" on December 14 and December 15 at S.I.R. Studios in Nashville, Tennessee.
In April 2018, Vincent joined Gene Simmons at the KISS bassist/vocalist's "Vault" event in Nashville, Tennessee. He later said in an interview that he felt that got "a cold reception" and was "treated very indifferently" by Gene at the event. | +2

KISS's Manager Says ACE FREHLEY And PETER CRISS Have Been Approached About Taking Part In Final Concert
KISS manager Doc McGhee says that all living former members of the band have been approached about taking part in the iconic group's final concert.
KISS announced over the weekend that it will play its last-ever show on July 17, 2021, in New York City. It will be the finale of the two-and-a-half-year "End Of The Road" world tour, which, by the time it is finished, will have taken in more than 165 dates across several continents.
In the months after KISS announced "End Of The Road", fans wondered openly if original members Ace Frehley (guitar) and Peter Criss (drums) would be involved in the tour, especially considering the apparent recent goodwill between Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons and Ace. Frehley's latest album "Spaceman" — a title suggested by Simmons himself — features two songs the pair wrote together, and the duo completed a joint summer 2018 tour of Australia, after which Frehley fired his solo backing band and hired Simmons's.
McGhee said during a question-and-answer session on the ninth annual "Kiss Kruise" that KISS is open to reuniting with all former members at the final gig.
"We want to include everybody that played with KISS to celebrate the 45 years of KISS," he said. "And everybody — Vinnie Vincent and everybody else — that [has] played with KISS is part of this whole celebration of 45 years. So, we're still looking at what we're gonna do on the final show of KISS."
According to McGhee, Frehley and Criss have both "been talked to" about participating in some form. But, he acknowledged, "It's pretty difficult. When people say, 'Oh, you should bring Ace and Peter up.' How do you do that when you have two Catmen and two Spacemen? So you say, 'Okay. You don't wear makeup and you wear makeup.' And then they [Ace and Peter] go, 'Well, that was my makeup.' I don't know. So it's real hard to do, but we'll figure it out because they're very much a part of the heritage of KISS. And they're acknowledged by Gene and Paul and everybody in this room as the founding members… So. it's important to you guys [and] it's important to us. It's just a matter of the balance and we can bring it where it works for everybody and everybody is having a great time."
Last year, Frehley told VintageRock.com that "the only way" he would "seriously consider" taking part in "End Of The Road" is "if I took back my make-up and costume and my character — which I designed." He added that current KISS guitarist Tommy Thayer "is not a bad guitar player, but he basically just mimics everything I wrote, and tries to imitate my persona. He's been doing it for 15 years," he said. "But the reality is I'm the original guy. And nobody can really copy the way I play guitar."
Asked if he would still consider participating in the tour if Criss was not involved, Ace said: "I think it would be great if Peter was involved. Obviously, at this point in his life, he wouldn’t be able to do a two-hour show. But I can see if we worked out a situation where Peter came out at the end and did three or four songs — sang 'Beth', did 'Black Diamond' and a couple of others, I think that would be fun."
"End Of The Road" kicked off on January 31 in Vancouver and will resume on November 16 in Perth, Australia.
KISS's current lineup consists of original members Simmons and Stanley, alongside later band additions, Thayer (since 2002) and drummer Eric Singer (on and off since 1991).
Formed in 1973 by Stanley, Simmons, Criss and Frehley, KISS staged its first "farewell" tour in 2000, the last to feature the group's original lineup.

STEVE VAI Praises Latvian Figure Skater DENISS VASILJEVS For "Lotus Feet" Performance At Japan Open 2019
Guitar legend Steve Vai recently checked in via Facebook with the following message:
"I came across the brilliant skating of Deniss Vasiljevs performing to my song 'Lotus Feet'. The song never looked so good! Seeing connected skaters mellifluously dancing on the ice is always uplifting and inspiring. I get the impression that while Deniss was skating to this piece, he was perhaps feeling the way I did when I performed it. Congrats on placing 6th in the competition, Deniss!"
Vasiljevs - who was competeing at the Figure Skating 2019 Japan Open in the clip Vai was referring to - responded to his message:
"Wow, thank you so much.Your music is so inspiring and really connects with my inner world. Thank you for creating this amazing piece!"
Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen, Zakk Wylde, Nuno Bettencourt, and Tosin Abasi, collectively Generation Axe, are gearing up for live dates in Korea and Japan. Their schedule is as follows:

When asked which song performed captures the true essence of Generation Axe, Steve Vai shares, “For me, I might say that our arrangement and performance of 'Highway Star' captures a good essence of what Gen-Axe is about. In this song we all came together and worked out a spectacular five guitar arrangement of this classic masterpiece, with an interplay of harmonies that is uniquely structured and potent. There are shifting solo sections tailor made for each guitarist, and a deep respect to the structure of wicked fast harmonies engineered around Richie Blackmore’s historic solo. And then there’s Yngwie’s powerful vocal performances on this track too. It has a high degree of rock and roll energy in it.”
Tracklisting:
Generation Axe - "Foreplay"
Tosin Abasi - "Tempting Time"

RICHIE KOTZEN On His Upcoming 50-Song Solo Album: 'I Didn't Know I Was Gonna Do This'
Richie Kotzen (THE WINERY DOGS, POISON, MR. BIG) spoke to IndiePower TV about his upcoming 50-song solo album, "50 For 50", that will be released on February 3, the guitarist's 50th birthday.
"I didn't know I was gonna do this," he said (see video below). "I had maybe 14 or 15 songs done that I knew I was gonna put out on the next record, and while I was on a tour, I had a copy of one of my hard drives that has a lot of stuff on it that I was working on. It goes back as far as the early 2000s. So I made a list — it had way more than 50. And I said, 'Well, let me just see how many of these I can finish.' Many songs had the drums already done, some were just missing a verse vocal, others had no vocal and needed to be written. But in the end, by the time I got through all this and I hit 50 [songs], I was, like, 'I don't ever wanna step foot inside a studio again.' And then two days later, literally, I was in there recording one of my wife's songs. So I guess I'm kind of like a studio rat."
Kotzen first teased the release in an August 25 video he posted to Instagram. Two weeks later, a subsequent Instagram post revealed additional information. He included the hashtag "50For50," which was also featured in a subsequent post the following day that displayed a screenshot of the work-in-progress.
Some of Kotzen's tentative new song titles include "Stick The Knife", "When God Made You", "Turning The Table", "Nickel Hustler", "Devil's Hand", "Confession", "Dirty Tricks" and "Mountains".
Although Kotzen gained international recognition via his work on POISON's 1993 album "Native Tongue", through his three-year stint in MR. BIG (with whom he recorded two albums, 1999's "Get Over It" and 2001's "Actual Size") and as the frontman and lead guitarist of THE WINERY DOGS (a group that also features his former MR. BIG bandmate Billy Sheehan and ex-DREAM THEATER drummer Mike Portnoy), he is also a prolific solo artist who to date has released 20 studio albums.
He has also recorded two collaborative albums with fellow Shrapnel Records alumnus Greg Howe and one with the jazz/fusion group VERTÙ, which also featured the rhythm section of RETURN TO FOREVER, bassist Stanley Clarke and drummer Lenny White.

RATT Singer STEPHEN PEARCY Is In Pre-Production For Sixth Solo Album
RATT singer Stephen Pearcy is in pre-production for his sixth solo album with his longtime guitarist and collaborator, Erik Ferentinos. A 2020 release is expected.
Pearcy's fifth solo LP, "View To A Thrill", came out in November 2018 via Frontiers Music Srl. The follow-up to 2017's "Smash" was produced by Matt Thorne and Pearcy and was mixed and mastered by Thorne and Ferentinos.
Speaking about the songwriting process for his solo material, Pearcy told Music Existence: "RATT's music is its own entity and animal, and it has its own schematics. With my solo stuff, I tend to do whatever I like — an acoustic song, a really heavy song — and go places and talk about things that I want to. It's my freedom of speech. That's one thing I like about it, and I'm always writing, so what else can I do, you know? Just try to get it out and get it heard! I don't care if it sells ten million or nil million; it's just what I do. You do the best that you can."
Pearcy and bassist Juan Croucier are the sole remaining original members in RATT's current lineup, which made its live debut in July 2018 in Mulvane, Kansas. Joining them in the band are drummer Pete Holmes (BLACK 'N BLUE, RATT'S JUAN CROUCIER) and guitarists Jordan Ziff (RAZER) and Chris Sanders (BRITNY FOX, KNIGHT FURY).
Pearcy told Sleaze Roxx that Erik was briefly considered for a position in RATT before Ziff and Sanders came along. "He's literally been in my band for years, in my solo band," he said. "He's a big part of my life, my solo records, the mixing, the engineering, just everything. I mean, we're like a team when I go in to do my solo records with Matt Thorne in the studio, and Erik and myself. We get in there and there is no stopping us, so I wanted to keep that a little separate, but he's always ready to go at any moment. He's a total professional."

BILLY SHEEHAN On MR. BIG's Future: 'We Haven't Made Any Decisions Yet On Anything'
MR. BIG bassist Billy Sheehan says that no decisions have yet been made regarding the band's future following last year's passing of Pat Torpey. The drummer died in February 2018 at the age of 64 from complications of Parkinson's disease.
Speaking to Brazil's Lokaos Rock Show, Sheehan stated about the possibility of more MR. BIG live shows and studio recordings: "Well, we haven't made any decisions yet. But myself, Eric [Martin, vocals] and Paul [Gilbert, guitar], we're very good friends, and we really wanted to take a while to stop MR. BIG because Pat was such an important part of the band. We did some shows with another drummer — Matt Starr; he's a great drummer and sang really good. So we'll wait a little while and then maybe make some decisions later. But we haven't made any decisions yet on anything."
Asked if he is still grieving the loss of his bandmate, Sheehan said: "Well, not so much grieving, but we just wanna let life settle out a little bit. Pat was my best friend in music, and we were the closest in MR. BIG — me and Pat were. We were very, very close. So it was a big loss for me and a big loss for the band and a big loss for the fans, and, of course, his family as well. But we wanna honor his legacy. If we do anything, we wanna do something great. We don't know yet what that would be, but we wanna make sure we honor his legacy with going out there. If we do something, it will have to be fabulous."
Last fall, Martin told the "Friday NI Rocks" show that the band was planning to make a new studio record in 2019. But he added that once MR. BIG was done with its touring commitments, it would time for the group to call it quits. "Yeah, that's the last hurrah — that's it," he said. "It feels a little uncomfortable to keep going without Pat Torpey."
MR. BIG's latest album, "Defying Gravity", was released in July 2017 via Frontiers Music Srl.
After announcing his Parkinson's diagnosis in 2014, Torpey continued to write, record and perform with MR. BIG, who also recruited Starr to share drum duties.
MR. BIG, formed in 1988, produced numerous hit songs that ranged across a wide array of rock genres — be it ballads, heavy metal, or blues rock. Their hits include "Alive And Kicking", "Just Take My Heart" and the chart-topping ballad "To Be With You".

METALLICA Guitarist KIRK HAMMETT Names The Witch From 2015 As "The Best Horror To Come Out In A Long Time"
Speaking with Metal Hammer, Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett revealed what he believes is one of the best horror movie ever made.
Hammett: "I think the best horror movie to come out in a long time is The Witch (from 2015). It’s original, the concept was great, I love the fact that all the dialogue was taken from the 16th century. And the ending is a recreation of a famous series of Francisco Goya paintings. When I saw that ending, I thought, 'Oh my God, this looks familiar', and then I realised what the director was doing. It’s just incredible, and for me, it’s one of the best scenes of that movie. And the soundtrack is really great, too.”
Check out the complete movie rundown featuring members of KISS, Anthrax, Saxon and more here.
It's Alive! Classic Horror and Sci-Fi Art from the Kirk Hammett Collection will be on view at The Columbia Museum of Art in Columbia, South Carolina from February 15th to May 17th 2020. Advance tickets are on sale now at this location.
Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett has put together one of the world’s most comprehensive collections of horror and sci-fi art. It’s Alive! features more than 100 pieces including posters, toys, guitars, masks, and sculptures, many hailing back to the days of Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi. Not only do these objects explore the power of graphic art in its own right, they have inspired Hammett’s work throughout his own artistic career.
“I have a real passion for the horror genre. These stories, they're like our modern fairy tales,” said Hammett in a video promoting the upcoming exhibition, which can be seen below.
Presently, Hammett has not announced a personal appearance at The Columbia Museum of Art to coincide with his exhibit.
It’s Alive! Classic Horror and Sci-Fi Art from the Kirk Hammett Collection is currently showing at The Royal Ontario Museum. in Toronto, Ontario. The exhibit runs through January 5th, 2020.

MIKE PORTNOY Says LIQUID TENSION EXPERIMENT Was 'Like DREAM THEATER Without Annoying Vocals'
Mike Portnoy says that his LIQUID TENSION EXPERIMENT instrumental project was "like DREAM THEATER without annoying vocals."
The ex-DREAM THEATER drummer made the comment during an appearance on the Brazilian radio show "Bem Que Se Kiss" (via Rádio Kiss FM 92,5) which was livestreamed via the program's Facebook page.
According to DreamTheaterForums.org, Portnoy and the show's host were discussing LIQUID TENSION EXPERIMENT when the host stated about the project (see video below): "I think TENSION was good. But the problem is the language." Portnoy responded: "But that's what made it good. [It was] like DREAM THEATER without annoying vocals. It was perfect."
After everyone in the room started laughing, Portnoy added: "But we're not on the air, right?" To which the host responded: "Yes, we are, actually." Mike then went on to say: "Are we?" and cracked up laughing.
Portnoy, who co-founded DREAM THEATER nearly 35 years ago, abruptly quit the band in September 2010 while on tour with AVENGED SEVENFOLD. He has since been replaced by Mike Mangini (ANNIHILATOR, EXTREME, JAMES LABRIE, STEVE VAI).
DREAM THEATER singer James LaBrie has previously ruled out the possibility of a reunion with Portnoy, saying that Mangini "will be our drummer until the day that we finish doing this."
Mike is in the middle of a Brazilian tour with the local metal band NOTURNALL, which also features in its ranks Mike's former ADRENALINE MOB bandmate, guitarist Mike Orlando.
In addition to Portnoy, LIQUID TENSION EXPERIMENT featured DREAM THEATER guitarist John Petrucci and keyboardist Jordan Rudess alongside bass legend Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel, KING CRIMSON). The group has not performed live since 2008, when it embarked on a brief tour commemorating the tenth anniversary of its self-titled debut.

ANTHRAX's FRANK BELLO On SLAYER Calling It Quits: 'It's Hard To Say Goodbye To Your Family'
Members of ANTHRAX, LAMB OF GOD, LIFE OF AGONY, TESTAMENT, MINISTRY and TYPE O NEGATIVE are among the musicians who have paid tribute to SLAYER as part of The Aquarian Weekly's special article celebrating the iconic thrash metal's career.
ANTHRAX bassist Frank Bello said: "I've known these guys since the eighties, and over the years, ANTHRAX and SLAYER have toured together so many times, we've all become genuine friends. We grew up together as musicians, and we've just become closer and closer over the years. When we're on the road, we hang out at the shows and on days off, I'll have breakfast with Tom [Araya] or dinner with Kerry [King], hang out with the crew or Mike LaTronico, their tour manager. I know their families and they know mine. These are really good people."
He continued: "I'll miss standing at the side of the stage trying to make Tom laugh — which he never does during a show. I'll miss the 'after-show hangs' in SLAYER's dressing room with Kerry doing shots from his Jägermeister machine. Nobody can drink like Kerry King can, so I always asked for a 'half shot,' which came to be known as the 'Bello shot.' One thing I won't miss is having too many 'Bello shots,' and spending way too many nights on the floor of the bathroom in our bus. ANTHRAX played our last shows with SLAYER last month in South America, and I remember watching their set from the side of the stage thinking, 'I'm only going to see them play this song two more times after tonight.' And then the next night, 'This is the second to the last time I'll ever see them perform this song.' And when I see them at Madison Square Garden [on November 9], it will be the last time I ever see them play those songs.
"With SLAYER and ANTHRAX, our techs, our bus drivers, truck drivers — for so many years — it's been a family. And it's hard to say goodbye to your family."
Earlier this year, Bello said that he believed SLAYER would come out of retirement to play more "Big Four" concerts with METALLICA, MEGADETH and ANTHRAX.
"I think if you ring up my friends in SLAYER [and tell them], 'We're doing the 'Big Four,'' I think they'd play some shows," he told the Graspop Metal Meeting. "I think they would work it out. I think [they would come out of retirement for it]. The 'Big Four' is special enough that we all rise to it. I would hope they would do that. I mean, I would certainly try to talk them into it."
Frank previously told RadioactiveMike Z in a separate interview that the members of SLAYER have been talking about pulling the plug on their career "for a while. I know these guys pretty well; they're good friends of mine, specifically Kerry," he said. "And they've been talking about that for quite a while. And I'm actually surprised that it came now, [and] I'm kind of bummed."
Bello added that he understands why SLAYER would want to retire from touring after spending so many years on the road.
"This touring stuff, it's pretty grueling," he said. "As much as people think it's like a dream [job], the best part about it is the show. The rest of it, the traveling… And, thankfully, we have buses and all this nice stuff. But being away from you family — we all have families — being away from your family, all that stuff comes into play. And the wear and tear — it's not as easy as it used to be, but I understand it."
Earlier this month, SLAYER kicked off "The Final Campaign", the seventh and final leg of its farewell world tour. This last hurrah started at the ExploreAsheville Arena in Asheville, North Carolina, and will see the band taking its goodbye bow at the Los Angeles Forum on November 30. Accompanying SLAYER for this last ride are PRIMUS, MINISTRY and PHILIP H. ANSELMO & THE ILLEGALS performing a vulgar display of PANTERA, who are supporting on all dates.
SLAYER's final world tour began on May 10, 2018 with the band's intention to play as many places as possible, to make it easy for the fans to see one last SLAYER show and say goodbye. By the time the 18-month trek wraps on November 30, the band will have completed seven tour legs plus a series of one-off major summer festivals, performing more than 140 shows in 30 countries and 40 U.S. states.

SLAYER's Farewell Tour 'Doesn't Mean The End Of The Band,' Says Manager RICK SALES
SLAYER's longtime manager Rick Sales spoke to MassLive.com about the band's decision to embark on its farewell tour.
The legendary thrash metal act's final run of dates began on May 10, 2018 with the band's intention to play as many places as possible, to make it easy for the fans to see one last SLAYER show and say goodbye. By the time the 18-month trek wraps on November 30, the band will have completed seven tour legs plus a series of one-off major summer festivals, performing more than 140 shows in 30 countries and 40 U.S. states.
"The band has always had a lot of integrity," Sales said, adding that "there are a couple things that go on. I totally get that they made a decision to stop touring. That doesn't mean the end of the band. It's just the end of touring. I always thought of it as, 'You go out on top.' They made that decision. They're not milking it. From that standpoint, I get it and they made the right choice."
Kristen Mulderig, who works with Rick Sales Entertainment Group, recently said that there will still be plenty of SLAYER-related activities even after the band stops performing live.
"We're in legacy mode," Mulderig told Pollstar, "which is a lot to do, even though they won't be making records or on the road. They still have their endorsers, there's still merch and branding to do — sync licenses and who knows? Maybe coming up with some sort of event that is SLAYER-based. This is all stuff we're thinking about and talking about. SLAYER lives on, absolutely."
SLAYER will conclude its final tour with a two-night stand at the Forum in Los Angeles.
Formed nearly four decades ago, the quartet has released 12 studio albums, selling millions of records worldwide without the hint of a hit single.
The two remaining original members of SLAYER are bassist/vocalist Tom Araya and guitarist Kerry King.
Gary Holt has been the touring guitarist for SLAYER since January 2011 when original member Jeff Hanneman contracted necrotizing fasciitis, also known as flesh-eating disease, from a spider bite in his backyard. Hanneman died in May 2013 from alcohol-related cirrhosis of the liver. He is credited for writing many of SLAYER's classic songs, including "Angel Of Death" and "South Of Heaven".
Original drummer Dave Lombardo's most recent stint with SLAYER ended in 2013 when he made allegations about the way the group's financial bookkeeping was handled. He has since been replaced by Paul Bostaph, who was previously SLAYER's drummer from 1992 until 2001 and recorded four albums with the band.

BRING ME THE HORIZON Releases 'Ludens' Music Video
British rockers BRING ME THE HORIZON have released the official music video for their new song called "Ludens". The track is the latest offering from the upcoming "Death Stranding: Timefall (Original Music From The World Of Death Stranding)" soundtrack, featuring original music inspired by the upcoming PlayStation 4 (PS4) video game "Death Stranding". Last month it was announced that RCA Records has partnered with Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) to release the soundtrack on November 7.
BRING ME THE HORIZON singer Oli Sykes says: "'Death Stranding' is a game I've been waiting for long before collaborating with them was on the table. Kojima-san is one of the few people I would call a hero to me, so making a track for his first game since Konami was equal parts daunting, stressful and exciting… the whole thing felt surreal, and not right... To be honest, I didn't see where a BRING ME THE HORIZON song was going to fit into an art house AAA game, but I was stupid to try and pigeonhole Kojima's style!"
"Ludens" follows previously released tracks "Trigger" by Major Lazer x Khalid which Billboard stated the duo's moods "melt well over a ballad beat with muted dancehall influence," "Ghost" by Au/Ra x Alan Walker, "Yellow Box" by The Neighbourhood and "Death Stranding" by CHVRCHES. "Death Stranding" was met by rave reviews, with Rolling Stone declaring the track "stunning" and Uproxx calling it an "epic synth-pop jam."
"Death Stranding: Timefall (Original Music From The World Of Death Stranding)" track listing:
01. Trigger" - Major Lazer & Khalid
02. Ghost" - Au/Ra & Alan Walker
03. Death Stranding" - CHVRCHES
04. Yellow Box" - The Neighbourhood
05. Meanwhile...In Genova" - The S.L.P.
06. Ludens" - BRING ME THE HORIZON
07. Born In The Slumber" - Flora Cash

THE WHO's PETE TOWNSHEND Says He Will Only Smash A Guitar Again To Raise Money For Charity
The Who guitarist Pete Townshend will only smash a guitar again to raise money for charity, reports celebretainment.com.
The 74-year-old guitarist and his band mates - comprised of Roger Daltrey, John Entwistle, and drummer Keith Moon - were known for their hedonistic behaviour which included smashing their instruments and wrecking their stages, but now that he's older, Pete has said he'll only cause damage to another guitar if it helps to raise money for charity.
Speaking to BBC Radio 2, he said: "I haven't smashed guitars for a long time, for me it was an expression of youth. I smashed a guitar on David Letterman and it auctioned for $168,000. I am prepared to smash a guitar for charity."
Read more at celebretainment.com.
The Who have one of the greatest rock legacies in music history, they’re one of the all-time great live bands, have sold over 100 million records world including nine US and ten UK top ten albums and 14 UK top ten singles in a career spanning six decades.
Now 55 years after they made their first recordings, The Who are back with their first new album in thirteen years, entitled WHO, due for release on November 22 via Polydor Records. Pre-order WHO here.
The eleven-track album was mostly recorded in London and Los Angeles during spring and summer 2019 and was co-produced by Pete Townshend and D. Sardy (who has worked with Noel Gallagher, Oasis, LCD Soundsystem, Gorillaz) with vocal production by Dave Eringa (Manic Street Preachers, Roger Daltrey, Wilko Johnson).
Singer Roger Daltrey and guitarist and songwriter Pete Townshend are joined on the album by long-time Who drummer Zak Starkey and bassist Pino Palladino along with contributions from Simon Townshend, Benmont Tench, Carla Azar, Joey Waronker and Gordon Giltrap.
The artwork for WHO (see below) was unveiled last night in New York at the opening of the brand new eight-storey Pace contemporary art gallery where the band also performed a short acoustic set. The album cover has been created by famed Pop artist, Sir Peter Blake who first met the band in 1964 at a taping of the legendary TV show Ready Steady Go! Sir Peter designed and contributed a painting for the sleeve of The Who’s album Face Dances in 1981.
The songs on WHO cover a myriad of subjects including the Grenfell Tower fire, musical theft, spirituality, reincarnation, the power of memory and ‘an old rock star that has lost his marbles’. Singer Roger Daltrey rates it amongst their strongest “I think we’ve made our best album since Quadrophenia in 1973, Pete hasn’t lost it, he’s still a fabulous songwriter, and he’s still got that cutting edge.”
Pete Townshend: “This album is almost all new songs written last year, with just two exceptions. There is no theme, no concept, no story, just a set of songs that I (and my brother Simon) wrote to give Roger Daltrey some inspiration, challenges and scope for his newly revived singing voice. Roger and I are both old men now, by any measure, so I’ve tried to stay away from romance, but also from nostalgia if I can. I didn’t want to make anyone feel uncomfortable. Memories are OK, and some of the songs refer to the explosive state of things today. I made new home studio demos of all these songs in the summer of 2018 using a wide collection of instruments old and new. We started recording as The Who in March 2019, and have finished now in late August just in time to make some vinyl... maybe even some cassettes... ready for release in November.”

BLOOD EAGLE Release "Eyes Sewn Shut" Lyric Video; EP III Out November 22
Denmark-based death metal band, Blood Eagle, will release their final To Ride In Blood & Bathe In Greed EP on November 22 via Nuclear Blast. Today, the band offer fans a lyric video for their song "Eyes Sewn Shut" off the EP. Watch the video below.
The band comments, "The new album offers a vast array of influences, from punk, grind to death metal. One of the last songs we did for the album is 'Eyes Sewn Shut'. This song came out more experimental, even with some influences from Slayer (as you can hear in the intro). The lyrics deal with corruption and touch upon the dark facets of capitalism. Nonetheless definitely a song that can best be described as commanding skull crushing death metal energy!"
The band is comprised of former members of Volbeat, Mnemic, Hatesphere, Illdisposed, and Raunchy. Officially surfaced in 2013, good friendship and love for old school death metal have made Blood Eagle an unstoppable force.
The album was produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by Tue Madsen at Antfarm Studios. All artwork was created by Rune Stigart. The final EP for To Ride In Blood & Bathe In Greed will be released on November 22.
The band comments, "We are honoured to have signed with one of the world's leading record labels, Nuclear Blast Records! The excitement level of Blood Eagle finally finding the right home to release new material, is higher for us than we can ever express. There are people who want to hear this band, as was evident in the reaction to our performances on multiple European festivals in the last couple of years. We are excited and grateful to be working with the guys at Nuclear Blast, as they strongly will help facilitate and take the Eagle to the next level.
"On a musical note, we took all our inspirations from Napalm Death, Bolt Thrower, Morbid Angel and a tad (like 2%) of Mastodon and threw them into the musical cooking pot. The result is our new release, To Ride In Blood & Bathe In Greed I, II, III which will be released as three EPs in September, October and November. Out on Nuclear Blast Records."
To Ride In Blood & Bathe In Greed tracklisting:
Part I:
"Feed On The Blood Of Man"

PRAYING MANTIS Debut Official Live Video For "Children Of The Earth"; Keep It Alive CD/DVD Out Next Month
Frontiers Music Srl will release Praying Mantis' new live CD/DVD, Keep It Alive, on December 6. Watch their performance of "Children Of The Earth" below, and pre-order the album/video or stream audio of "Highway" here.
Recorded live at Frontiers Rock Festival V in Milan, Italy on April 28, 2018, this brand new live release shows Praying Mantis offering the crowd a setlist of new songs and several classic tracks, including selected cuts from the now legendary debut album, "Time Tells No Lies". An awesome release, showcasing the repertoire of one of the most consistent British hard rock bands around.
Originally formed in 1973 by the Troy brothers, Tino and Chris, Praying Mantis became one of the most influential bands of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM). The band is also one of a very small number of bands from that era to have remained an ongoing concern over the intervening years, and to still record and appear live regularly. The debut Praying Mantis album, Time Tells No Lies (Arista) was released in 1981 to critical acclaim, and it remains a significant milestone in the history of NWOBHM.
Following a short-lived reformation of most of the original lineup of Praying Mantis in 1987, the band went back on hiatus until offered the chance to play in Japan with ex-Iron Maiden members Paul Di'Anno and Dennis Stratton in 1990. This experience injected new life into the band, and also marked the beginning of a productive 15 year partnership with Dennis Stratton. The band's second official studio album, Predator in Disguise, was released in 1991, and the band have continued to write and release new material every two to three years ever since, with a shifting line-up which has featured the likes of Doogie White, Gary Barden, Bernie Shaw, Bruce Bisland, Mike Freeland, Gary Mackenzie, and many other figures from the cream of Britain's rock fraternity. Following another major change in lineup (including the departure of Dennis Stratton), Praying Mantis signed with Frontiers in 2007 and recorded the album Sanctuary, which was released in 2009. The album, considered to be one of the finest of their career, has received consistently positive reviews, as have the follow-ups, Legacy and Gravity.
Whether gigging in support of their latest releases, writing new material, or re-visiting other songs from their extensive back-catalogue, the Troy brothers, along with guitarist Andy Burgess and newest recruits, John 'Jaycee' Cuijpers on vocals and Hans In T' Zandt on drums and vocals, remain committed to the blend of melody and power in their music that has become a trademark of the Praying Mantis sound, and, some three decades after forming, the band is still completely dedicated to entertaining a seemingly ever-growing army of fans across the globe.

IGGY POP "1970" Limited Edition Red And Blue Variants Announced
Wax Face Toys is a new series of figures in resin and vinyl from the best in music, film and cult popular culture. This first offering is a collaboration between music legend Iggy Pop and Wax Face, manufactured by Unbox Industries under exclusive license from Thread Shop, a division of Sony Music Entertainment.
With a position taken from Iggy Pop's infamous "peanut butter incident" at Crosley Field with his proto-punk band, The Stooges at the Cincinnati Pop Festival June 13th, 1970, this resin figure captures Iggy Pop hoisted high by an adoring audience in his iconic shirtless pose, seconds before smearing peanut butter all over his chest and throwing it into the crowd as The Stooges ripped through "1970" from Fun House.
Sculpted in London by ex-Madame Tussauds' sculptors, these 15.7" figures are molded in red and blue resin. They will be available for pre-order starting Saturday November 9th at 10 AM EST on Wax-face.com. The $250 USD cost includes shipping with tracking, and customer orders will begin shipping at the end of November.

IRON MAIDEN's BRUCE DICKINSON Steps Out With Girlfriend In Paris (Photos)
U.K.'s Daily Mail has uploaded several photos of IRON MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson with his new girlfriend. The pictures were taken earlier this week in Paris, France, where the couple share an apartment.
According to Daily Mail and The Sun, Dickinson's new girlfriend is "fitness teacher, journalist and fashion blogger" Leana Dolci, who is said to be 15 years his junior.
The 61-year-old rocker and his wife of nearly three decades, Paddy Bowden, reportedly separated in 2018.
Bruce and Paddy have three children: sons Austin, 29, and Griffin, 27, and daughter Kia, 28.
In a recent interview with Argentina's Clarín, Bruce confirmed that he is residing in the French capital with his "girlfriend."
According to the Mirror, Bruce and his wife have no immediate plans for divorce.
Five years ago, Dickinson was diagnosed with stage 3 throat cancer after doctors discovered a golf ball-size tumor on his tongue and another in the lymph node on the right side of his neck.
The singer got the all-clear in May 2015 after radiation and nine weeks of chemotherapy and later covered his cancer battle in his 2017 autobiography, "What Does This Button Do?"
Two years ago, Dickinson told BBC Radio 2 that he made a conscious decision to keep his family life — including current and former wives, divorces and children — out of "What Does This Button Do?" "There's no need for it, really," he said. "And I think there's a belief that that nastiness somehow sells books. And I'm not sure one, that it does, and two, that it's particularly the sort of book that I want to be a part of. So I made the decision that, in amongst not being horrid to people, 'cause there's no point, at the same time, I thought, well, I also don't want to tell confidences about other people's lives. If I wanna share a confidence about my life, 'cause it's my autobiography, fair enough, but dropping other people in it for the sake of, well, ratings, basically, I think is immoral."
Dickinson admitted, however, that he struggled with whether to involve his family when writing about how he dealt with his cancer diagnosis in 2015. "I did wonder about that, about including [them]," he said. "'Cause, obviously, my wife was pretty key to surviving the whole thing, and they all had to undergo it, in a sense, in the same way as me. And they were relatively powerless in it as well. I allude to that. But, yeah, I did agonize about that a little bit, because I thought, 'Am I being entirely fair?' But I thought, 'I'll stick with…' Because you open up a little Pandora's box there. Because then people say, 'Well, who are all these people? Why did they suddenly turn up at the end?' So, for the sake of continuity, and for the sake of it just it being a good book [I left them out of it]."

AVATARIUM Discuss Their 100-Year-Old Guitar In Second The Fire I Long For Trailer
In two weeks, doom metal wizards Avatarium will unleash their new dark gospel titled The Fire I Long For, on November 22 through Nuclear Blast. To shorten the wait, the group has released a new album trailer, in which guitarist Marcus Jidell talks about his 100-year-old acoustic guitar, which can be seen in action in the recently launched trailer below:
In the first trailer, Jidell presents a very old and special instrument that they used for the recording of the album:
Founded in 2012 by Leif Edling of Candlemass, Avatarium soon saw the arrival of Marcus Jidell (producer Candlemass) and Jennie-Ann Smith who brought an air of charisma with her soulful grace. By now, the band has become an entity of its own and while Leif still contributed three songs for the new album, the band’s current nucleus consists of Marcus and Jennie-Ann, who are accompanied on this record by organist Rickard Nilssonand new drummer Andreas ‘Habo’ Johansson (The Doomsday Kingdom). Together, this open-minded, yet doom-laden collective draws elements of folk, jazz and psychedelic brilliance into a grandiose amalgamation that manages to maintain an almost pop-like elegance.
Recorded at Studio DeepWell in Stockholm, the album was produced by Marcus Jidell, mixed by Grammy Award winner Niklas Flyckt and mastered by Svante Forsback (Rammstein).
The new album is available for pre-order in the following formats:
- Limited Digipak
- Vinyl
* Black Vinyl In Sleeve
* White Vinyl In Sleeve
* Gold Vinyl In Sleeve
