LZZY HALE Says HALESTORM Doesn't Use Tracks Or Rely On 'Miming/Lip Syncing' During Its Live Shows

HALESTORM's Lzzy Hale says that her band doesn't use any pre-recorded tapes during its live performances.

In recent years, more and more bands have been given a pass for using backing tracks, drum triggers and other assorted technology that makes concerts more synthetic but also more consistent.

Earlier today, Lzzy took to her Twitter to write: "I'm just going to put this out there for no reason at all.Thank U to everyone who buys a ticket to see a live show of ours. It's truly the highest form of respect you can give any band you enjoy. I'm a Live music girl, and I hope you know how much I love and appreciate all of U.

"I should add, those of you who have seen us live before will know what I'm talking about," she continued. "But there's a vast difference between our recorded albums and what we do live. So I invite you to check out a show when you can, especially if you are not particularly struck by our albums.

"There's a risk factor that elevates HALESTORM Live vs HALESTORM on record. We don't use tracks, no miming/lip syncing. It's the four of us up there, in front of thousands, trying to create magic, and connect on a deeper level with You. It's a beautiful thing."

Lzzy's latest comments echo those she made four years ago when she told ABC Radio: "We pride ourselves as being an extremely meat-and-potatoes type of rock band. We don't use tracks or trickery. The tempos may be faster than you might have heard on the radio."

When HALESTORM was forced to cancel a concert in Rochester in October 2017 because Lzzy came down with an upper respiratory infection, she told fans that if HALESTORM "were the type of band that relied on tracks and trickery to play shows, I could've mimed my way through and pretended to sing. But we promised a long time ago that we'd never half-ass or fake a show, 'cause that isn't rock 'n' roll," she said, "and you guys deserve the real deal. Anyone who has seen our live knows that I actually sing! What you hear is always authentic, and firing on all cylinders. That also means I'm human, and getting sick and having to miss a show are the prices I pay for being real."

HALESTORM's latest album, "Vicious", was released in July 2018 via Atlantic. The disc was recorded in 2017 at Nashville, Tennessee's Rock Falcon recording studio with producer Nick Raskulinecz.

Hale recently told a New Jersey radio station that the band would record a "secret project" before hitting the road last month with GODSMACK.

I'm just going to put this out there for no reason at all.Thank U to everyone who buys a ticket to see a live show of ours. It's truly the highest form of respect you can give any band you enjoy. I'm a Live music girl, and I hope you know how much I love and appreciate all of U.

DANKO JONES Says American Audiences Sometimes Don't 'Give The Opening Band Even A Chance To Play'

Canadian rocker Danko Jones says United States audiences are hostile to support acts in a way not seen anywhere else in the world.

Speaking on the latest episode of the "White Line Fever" podcast, Jones says other bands agree with him that audiences in the U.S. are the rudest to opening bands.

"The only time it does get a little, not intimidating but rather annoying is… We've been on tour with bands where the crowd — and this happens mainly in America — where the crowd doesn't give the opening band even a chance to play," he said. "They're ready to just boo them.

"It's weird. And I've had this same conversation with a lot of other bands in the same situation. And it's only in America. In other places, they at least listen and try to decide for themselves. In America, it's more, like, 'If you're not the headlining band, then we don't wanna see you.'

"It's weird. It's a real closed-minded way of listening and taking in music."

The frontman of his namesake group revealed that he and his bandmates John Calabrese and Rich Knox have even confronted hecklers after their shows.

“I've bitten back," he said. "It always bites you back, though. You can't go up against two thousand people. I've screamed back, but then two thousand people will just start booing or chanting or anything.

"But it's only in America. And that's such a weird situation. I find it a very closed-minded way to take in music.

"And it's funny, too, 'cause it's happened where we've actually confronted some of the people who were booing us in the crowd, after the show, and they're suddenly so timid — not scared, but timid and shy and almost sorry for doing it.

"It's this weird mob mentality there that I don't see anywhere else in the world. It's just so weird."

DANKO JONES's latest album, "A Rock Supreme", was released in April. The disc was produced by Garth "Gggarth" Richardson (RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, RISE AGAINST, BIFFY CLYRO).

JUDAS PRIEST's GLENN TIPTON Thanks Fans For 'Support And Love' After 'Tough' Year

JUDAS PRIEST guitarist Glenn Tipton has thanked fans for their support, a year and a half after he announced he was battling Parkinson's disease.

Tipton was diagnosed with Parkinson's more than five years ago — after being stricken by the condition at least half a decade earlier — but announced in early 2018 he was going to sit out touring activities in support of PRIEST's latest album, "Firepower". He was replaced by "Firepower" album producer Andy Sneap, who is also known for his work in NWOBHM revivalists HELL and cult thrash outfit SABBAT. Tipton occasionally joins PRIEST onstage for its encores, performing "Metal Gods", "Breaking The Law" and "Living After Midnight".

Tipton, who turned 72 last Friday (October 25), took to PRIEST's social media today to write: "I am overwhelmed by all the kind birthday messages - I would like to thank every single fan for your support and love - particularly over the past year which has been a tough one for me.....thank you all so much! No surrender!!"

Bassist Ian Hill is the sole remaining original member of PRIEST, which formed in 1969. Singer Rob Halford joined the group in 1973 and Tipton signed on in 1974. Rob left PRIEST in the early 1990s to form his own band, then returned to PRIEST in 2003. Founding guitarist K.K. Downing parted ways with the band in 2011, and was replaced by Richie Faulkner.

This past summer, JUDAS PRIEST completed a U.S. tour with fellow classic heavy rockers URIAH HEEP. The 32-date trek kicked off on May 3 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida and wrapped on June 29 at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.

THE DARKNESS Frontman Apologizes To Anyone Who Was Offended By 'Easter Is Cancelled' Cover Artwork

THE DARKNESS frontman Justin Hawkins has apologized to anyone who has been offended by the cover artwork for the band's latest studio album, "Easter Is Cancelled". Released on October 4 via via Cooking Vinyl, the CD artwork features what appears to be members of THE DARKNESS beating down Roman guards as Jesus — played by Justin — attempts to escape from the bonds of crucifixion.

Asked about suggestions that the cover's inclusion of weapons could be seen to glamorize knife violence — which has reached a record high in England and Wales — Hawkins told Sky News: "What we were trying to do was interfere with biblical iconography and the sources we studied to assemble that image was from hundreds of years ago. We didn't recognize that it might be insensitive in the current climate. We saw it as something as escapism in talking about an imagined scenario from an alternate reality, and if we have offended anybody, all we can do is apologize."

Hawkins, however, offered no apologies for posing as Jesus on the cross.

"I play Jesus," he said. "Yes, that's controversial, but then again Willem Defoe has played Jesus, no one gives him a hard time. We are not denying the existence of Jesus Christ."

Hawkins recently told Planet Rock that the concept for the "Easter Is Cancelled" cover artwork is "multiverse theory. So, presumably, if we're allowed to talk about multiverse theory, as science folk, which we are, the idea of multiverse theory is that every eventuality that is possible to imagine exists somewhere in an alternate reality — like Schrödinger's cat times infinity," he said. "So, the idea is what happens if on the day that the Christ was to be crucified, he just said, 'Well, I'm gonna use my supernatural, wine-turning, water-walking abilities to fight back.' And the crucifixion doesn't happen, the Romans don't stand a chance — one of them is beheaded — and Jesus and three of the Marys, we're saying what if there's a universe like that? Imagine everything goes wrong. Isn't it comforting to know that in a universe somewhere, everything has gone right? Don't you find that comforting?"

"Easter Is Cancelled" is the follow-up to 2017's "Pinewood Smile", which was the third album since THE DARKNESS's 2011 reunion.

THE DARKNESS burst on to the scene with its multi-platinum 2003 debut album, "Permission To Land".

Having initially split up in 2006, following the departure of Justin Hawkins, THE DARKNESS decided to get back together five years later and released the comeback album "Hot Cakes". This was followed by two further LPs, "Last Of Our Kind" and the aforementioned "Pinewood Smile".

FRANKIE BANALI Says JAMES DURBIN Quit QUIET RIOT 'Almost Immediately' After 'Hollywood Cowboys' Was Delivered To Record Company

In a recent interview with the "Brutally Delicious" podcast, QUIET RIOT drummer Frankie Banali explained the circumstances around singer James Durbin's abrupt departure in September, as well as his health status after being diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer.

Durbin reportedly left QUIET RIOT "to concentrate his time and efforts on his solo career" and was replaced with Jizzy Pearl, who previously fronted QUIET RIOT from 2013 until October 2016.

"James quit almost immediately after the [new QUIET RIOT] record ['Hollywood Cowboys'] was delivered to the label and the filming of the video was done," Frankie said (hear audio below). "It put me in the interesting position of having to promote a record with a singer that's no longer with the band, but once he made his intentions aware to me, within 24 hours, I had replaced him with a fellow previous QUIET RIOT alumnus, Jizzy Pearl."

He continued: "Jizzy's great. Like I said many times before, I like him. I respect him. I think he's a great rock singer. I think he's got a great persona and he's a great live performer. And he's his own singer and I think he brings a lot to the table that is respectful to the QUIET RIOT legacy without trying to copy or repeat some of the things that the late, great Kevin DuBrow had done with the band. To me, it's a win-win situation. It's respectful to the legacy, but at the same time it's fresh."

Banali played his first show with QUIET RIOT after revealing his cancer diagnosis on October 26 at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, California. Earlier in the year, QUIET RIOT performed several times without Banali, who was replaced at the gigs by a couple of different drummers, including Johnny Kelly (DANZIG, TYPE O NEGATIVE).

"I think I'm going to get greenlighted from my medical team to finish the other two shows after the Whisky for this year," Frankie told "Brutally Delicious". "I have every intention to go back out on the road in 2020. We've already have dates for next year, so I'm going to keep QUIET RIOT moving forward regardless of what the situation is."

Banali resurrected QUIET RIOT in 2010, three years after the death of founding member DuBrow.

QUIET RIOT went through two vocalists — Mark Huff and Scott Vokoun — before settling on Pearl in 2013. Pearl announced his exit from QUIET RIOT in October 2016 and was briefly replaced by Seann Nichols, who played only five shows with the group before the March 2017 arrival of "American Idol" finalist Durbin.

"Hollywood Cowboys" will be released on November 8 via Frontiers Music Srl.

KIRK HAMMETT On METALLICA's Early Years: 'It's Really Amazing That The Four Of Us Found Each Other'

In this month's special "Musicians On Musicians" issue of Rolling Stone, the magazine pairs musicians together to discuss their careers, the music industry their mutual love for each other. Included in the November 2019 issue is a discusion between Annie Clark, a.k.a. St. Vincent, and METALLICA guitarist Kirk Hammett.

Speaking about METALLICA's early years, Hammett said: "It's really amazing that the four of us found each other. We managed to have certain things in common. We had disenfranchised upbringings and a lot of anger that's just deep-rooted. But [also] a real kind of determination to turn that into something musical, exciting, and fun. That's what we all had in common. It was always just the four of us. And if everyone else wanted to join in on the party, fuck yeah."

Kirk went on to say that learning to play heavy music during his teenage years provided him with a healthy way of processing anger and discontent.

"You can tap into that rage, and good things come out of that," he said. "I was a city kid who moved to the suburbs. The culture shock drove me to be even more introverted, so it was good I had a guitar. I discovered that playing was a great way to calm myself down and relax. I literally sat in my bedroom for three or four years and just played guitar, saying, 'Fuck those suburban kids.' I didn't really mean that, but I was angry because of my environment. I wrote the 'Die! Die! Die!' riff for 'Creeping Death' [off 1984's 'Ride The Lightning'] when I was 16 or 17 years old. I remember playing that in my bathroom, going, 'This is different from a lot of the stuff I've been listening to. Wow.' You can share your music with the world, but deep down, you know that it's really just yours. I entertain that notion a lot because I'm [still] an introvert. Just the other day, we played 'Creeping Death' and people were singing, 'Die! Die! Die!' Like, 'Fuck, I'm still in my bedroom!'"

METALLICA called off an October tour of Australia and New Zealand after it was revealed that frontman James Hetfield, who has been sober since 2002, went back into treatment to battle his addictions.

METALLICA will headline five major North American festivals next year, all of which are produced by Danny Wimmer Presents. The events are Epicenter, Welcome To Rockville, Sonic Temple Music + Arts, Louder Than Life and Aftershock. The band will play two separate headlining sets at each stop, with a unique setlist for each performance, resulting in 10 different shows.

Former METALLICA Bassist RON MCGOVNEY Says He Has Never Regretted Leaving The Band

Former METALLICA bassist Ron McGovney says that he has never lamented his decision to exit the band.

Ron made the comment in response to a tweet from a fan asking him if he has ever regretted departing the California metal group before the release of METALLICA's first album.

"No," McGovney replied. "It's not a lifestyle that I could have survived. In many ways."

McGovney was a member of METALLICA during 1982 and appeared on the band's early demos. Tension between McGovney and then-METALLICA guitarist Dave Mustaine led to the bassist quitting the band. He later told "Talk Is Jericho" that his exit from METALLICA wasn't upsetting to him because he was less into the band's thrash style, plus he was interested in being a motorcycle mechanic.

In a 2004 interview with AllMetallica.com, McGovney stated about his time with METALLICA: "All of the songs that are found on [METALLICA's debut album] 'Kill 'Em All' were written in my garage and we played all of them when I was in the band. We also did DIAMOND HEAD covers: 'The Prince', 'Sucking My Love', 'Am I Evil', and 'Helpless'. We covered 'Blitzkrieg' by BLITZKRIEG, 'Let It Loose' by SAVAGE and 'Killing Time' by SWEET SAVAGE. All of those songs can be found on bootlegs, but I have a practice tape of us doing some of those songs. I did do some arranging of the songs, but I was never credited with anything. I played at least 28 gigs with the band in the first year."

No. It's not a lifestyle that I could have survived. In many ways.

Former METALLICA Bassist JASON NEWSTED Drops $415,000 From Asking Price Of Walnut Creek Home

Former METALLICA bassist Jason Newsed has dropped $415,000 from the asking price of his Walnut Creek, California house.

Newsted put the home on the market in August for for $2.89 million, but that price came down earlier this month to $2.475 million.

The five-bedroom, five-bathroom home was built in 1986, and covers 6,720 square feet on a 1.37-acre lot.

Property details, courtesy of Newsted's representative, Douglas Buenz of Compass: "Fabulous modern farmhouse in a premium location with views. Gorgeous custom updates including hardwood floors, designer fixtures, & custom moldings. The new gourmet kitchen features stunning Moroccan tile & high-end Elise appliances. This home features a formal living room, elegant dining room, spacious family room, & 1 bedroom suite downstairs. The master suite features a retreat with balcony, fireplace, & an updated bathroom featuring soaking tub, separate shower, dual sinks, & large walk-in closet. Two large secondary bedrooms on the second level with updated bath plus a huge third story bonus room. Mud room with laundry & half bath. The picturesque yard is an entertainer's dream with patio, wrap-around porch, sprawling lawn area, and dog run. Studio above the detached 3 car garage & full basement (not included in sq ft). This amazing location has views of Mt. Diablo & is minutes from freeways, BART, & downtown. Plus award winning Walnut Creek schools."

A video tour of the house is available below.

Newsted is still trying to unload his Sula, Montana ranch, which he put up for sale in 2017 at $4.95 million. That price came down by $450,000 in July to $4.5 million.

Five years ago, the now-56-year-old Newsted canceled an appearance at Australia's Soundwave festival with his band NEWSTED, citing "private and personal circumstances." The cancelation followed more than a year of intense touring and promotional activity surrounding the release of NEWSTED's "Metal" EP and follow-up album, "Heavy Metal Music", both of which were positively received by the critics and fans alike.

After staying mostly out of the public eye for a couple of years, Newsted rejoined Canadian metal innovators VOIVOD on stage during June 2016 concert at Slim's in San Francisco, California. He has since formed a couple of new acoustic projects, one of which completed a short West Coast tour.

Jason left METALLICA back in 2001 but was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, along with guitarist/vocalist James Hetfield, drummer Lars Ulrich, guitarist Kirk Hammett, and the man who replaced him, bassist Robert Trujillo, in 2009.

GEORGE LYNCH And TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA Singer DINO JELUSICK Join Forces In DIRTY SHIRLEY

Frontiers Music Srl has announced the signing of DIRTY SHIRLEY, a new band project featuring guitarist George Lynch (THE END MACHINE, KXM, LYNCH MOB, ex-DOKKEN) and vocalist/keyboardist Dino Jelusick (ANIMAL DRIVE, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA).

DIRTY SHIRLEY's self-titled debut album will be released on January 24, 2020. The disc's first single, "Here Comes The King", can be streamed below.

Croatian singer Dino Jelusick, over the course of just one album and one covers EP released with his band ANIMAL DRIVE, has started to make quite the name for himself in the hard rock and metal scene. More than a few musicians of note have called up Dino to see if he might be interested in collaborating, which he is floored by. This talented young singer has an appreciation and deep respect for the musical heroes who preceded and profoundly influenced him. So, when George Lynch opened the doors to the idea of writing and producing a record together, Dino was more than intrigued. Frontiers, known for releasing interesting collaborations of this nature, was more than happy to be the label home for this project.

The resulting album and band, DIRTY SHIRLEY — named after one of the first songs they wrote together — covers a wide spectrum of styles. Classic metal to more "traditional" LYNCH MOB-oriented sounds and even some hints of the first BADLANDS album are in the mix. Showcasing a stunning performance from George Lynch — a seemingly bottomless pit of inspired and creative guitar playing — and an absolutely over the top lead vocal performance from Dino, DIRTY SHIRLEY is going to be an easy "must listen" for the hard rock and metal crowd. EVANESCENCE drummer Will Hunt rounds out the lineup.

Dino says: "This record was done differently from everything else I did so far. George jammed and sent me rough versions and I tried a thousand melodies and lyrics on it. It turned out fantastic and very versatile. From R&B and rock ballads to some very heavy tunes, bluesy stuff, hard rock, rock 'n' roll, grungy vibes... everything. Will was the perfect drummer for this, loud and groovy. I recorded vocals while being on tour with TSO in the bus, every evening when we had a day off. And finished it in Croatia. You gotta listen to the whole album to get the impression of it, not only singles. But the first single will surely kick your ass, so better be prepared!"

George adds: "At its core, this record is built on classic guitar riffage and grooves, but is also infused with eclectic tendencies scattered about that are unexpected and challenging. 80% of the guitar work on this record is rhythms, so I wanted to create a three-dimensional sonic tapestry that complimented the more basic riffs and chords. I tried to add a little twist to everything." He continues: "It was funny because when the label approached me about pairing up with Dino, for some reason I got the impression he was an Italian pop singer. LOL. So I wrote some songs in that vein, haha. ; ) Then when I heard what he was actually all about, I had to duck back into the laboratory and reinvent the wheel. If Ronnie James Dio and young Coverdale had a baby boy, his name would be Dino."

The band is currently exploring live show opportunities for 2020, so stay tuned for more news on DIRTY SHIRLEY.

DIRTY SHIRLEY recording lineup:

George Lynch: Guitars

Dino Jelusick: Vocals, Keyboards

Will Hunt: Drums

Trevor Roxx: Bass

OZZY OSBOURNE Thought He Was 'Dying' After Fall: 'The First Six Months, I Was In Agony'

Ozzy Osbourne says that he thought he was "dying" after suffering an injury in a fall earlier this year. The singer fell at his Los Angeles home, aggravating years-old injuries from his 2003 ATV accident that required new surgery. As a result, Ozzy scrapped all his 2019 tour dates, both in North America and Europe, as he recovered.

In a new interview with the U.K.'s Daily Mail, Osbourne spoke out about the accident and revealed that he initially believed there was very little chance he would bounce back.

"I went to the bathroom in the night, lost my balance and landed flat on my face," he recalled (via NME). "I saw this big white flash when I hit the floor and I thought, 'You've finally done it now.' I knew it was bad, I thought I was paralyzed, so very calmly I [told my wife], 'Sharon, I can't move. I think I've done my neck. Phone an ambulance.'"

According to Ozzy, the pain was "constant" following the fall. "The first six months, I was in agony," he said. "I'd say, 'Sharon, you're not telling me the truth. I'm dying, aren't I?' I thought I'd got some terminal illness because the improvement was so slow. I'm getting better, but after the surgery, the nurses asked me on a scale of one to ten how much pain I was in, and I said, '55!' Six months of waking up in the morning and being unable to move is a miserable existence."

Sharon Osbourne recently said that Ozzy's new studio album will be released in January.

Ozzy provided guest vocals on Post Malone's song "Take What You Want", a session overseen by producer Andrew Watt, and it led to Osbourne and Watt collaborating on the legendary BLACK SABBATH singer's 12th solo LP.

Ozzy has not released a new solo effort since 2010's "Scream", having spent the last few years touring with SABBATH in support of that band's "13" LP, as well as playing a number of solo shows.

Sharon admitted that Ozzy's spirits had been low for much of his recovery, but she added: "Now he's done his album, and it's coming out, and everybody's really pumped about it. He's happy — he is." She also said that Ozzy will resume his "No More Tours 2" trek in 2020.

Report: METALLICA's Canceled New Zealand Shows Have Negative Financial Affect On Businesses

In late September, Metallica announced that frontman James Hetfield had entered rehab, and the band would cancel their upcoming tour in Australia and New Zealand.

New Zealand's Newshub is now reporting that it's not just fans who are disappointed, businesses are also affected and in some cases are out tens of thousands of dollars.

According to the report, one Auckland beer seller brought Metallica's Enter Night pilsner to New Zealand to sell at the band's two Mount Smart concerts. "There's a lot of Metallica fans and they love Metallica - we thought they'd jump at the chance to drink a Metallica beer," says Matt Eats of Beer Jerk.

But then Hetfield went into rehab and Metallica's tour was cancelled. That left Beer Jerk with a lot of beer, and nobody to drink it.

"We leveraged ourselves pretty hard to be able to bring this in and we only have three full-time staff here, we're a tiny little operation, so shifting this volume of beer is a pretty intimidating challenge," says Eats.

It was their largest-ever international order, and while liquor stores have agreed to take some, they'll still can't sell the bulk of it.

Read the full report at Newshub.

MEGADETH's DAVE MUSTAINE To Sell Nearly 150 Pieces Of Music Gear On REVERB

Reverb.com, a leading web site and app dedicated to buying and selling new and used musical instruments, announced that it has partnered with MEGADETH frontman Dave Mustaine to sell music gear used live and in the studio throughout his storied career. The official Dave Mustaine Reverb shop will launch on Monday, November 4, and will feature nearly 150 items, including guitars, amps, drum gear, pro audio equipment, and more used by the thrash metal legend.

"When you've been playing and touring for as long as I have, you tend to amass quite a collection of gear. They're great instruments and they represent more than 40 years of playing, but I've got more than I could possibly use myself," said Mustaine, who joined METALLICA as lead guitarist in 1981 before eventually founding MEGADETH. "I owe so much to my fans. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't even have all this gear. I'd rather give it back to them than let it sit and collect dust."

Among the items that will be for sale in the Reverb shop are more than 20 of the guitarist's signature guitars, including a Dean Dave Mustaine Signature "Holy Grail" V (#1 of 33), a Dean Dave Mustaine Signature Zero Korina (#10 of 50), a signed 2007 Dean Dave Mustaine Signature Silver V Prototype, a Dean Dave Mustaine Signature Black Double Neck VMNT used live on stage, and a Dean Dave Mustaine Signature Matte Black V that was used extensively for touring.

The official Dave Mustaine Reverb shop will also feature:

* Several Marshall EL34 100/100 Dual Monoblock amps, including one that is autographed and one that still has the guitarist's settings marked.

* An Akai MPC1000 drum machine that was used extensively on tour and autographed by Mustaine.

* Several Zoom G2.1DM Dave Mustaine Signature pedals used by Mustaine on tour as indicated by the gaff tape still on the pedals.

* A Furman PL-8 Power Conditioner amp autographed and used by Mustaine.

* Multiple Fractal Axe FX-11 amps used by Mustaine both on tour and in the studio.

* A seven-piece DDrum drum kit with the cover art from "Peace Sells" on the kick drum.

* A Shure Wireless MEGADETH Transmitter System with signed cases.

* Several acoustic guitars, multiple effects pedals, kick pedals, cymbals, and more.

Mustaine joins a growing number of artists — including GREEN DAY, MASTODON's Brent Hinds and AVENGED SEVENFOLD — who've partnered with Reverb to get musical instruments and gear from their personal collections into the hands of fans.

To preview the items that will be available in the official Dave Mustaine Reverb shop on November 4 and to sign up to be notified when the shop goes live, go to this location.

Says Mustaine: "I have a lot, a lot, a lot of gear. I've got a lot of double-neck guitars, I've got a lot of prototype stuff. I've got absolutely killer collector's item stuff for the right guy. For me, my job is to put everything I can into this guitar so that when it gets put into somebody else's hands, I can say, 'This is the guitar that wrote 'Holy Wars'.'

"I have always believed when it comes down to memorabilia with a band —especially instruments — I want to pass this on to people. I want them to be able to have something that I had. I believe a lot in energy... whatever energy I put into this, my particular mojo, I like to be able to give that to somebody."

EXODUS Members Featured On NEW MESSIAH's Debut Album, 'Voice Of Choice'

NEW MESSIAH, the band featuring C. Will Harden on guitars and Craig Cefola (DUKES, WHEELHOUSE JUNCTION) on drums, has just released its debut album, "Voice Of Choice". The disc includes 20 cover songs that showcase several singers, including legendary drummer Tom Hunting (EXODUS). Tom handpicked the Stevie Wonder classic "You Haven't Done Nothin'" as a song he always wanted to cover, along with three others, THE BUS BOYS' "Boys Are Back In Town", Jerry Reed's "East Bound And Down" and THE TIME's "Jungle Love" that also sparked the interest of Rock And Roll Hall Of Famer Darryl "DMC" McDaniels. Darryl wrote his part in that song and helped to open the album with this original take on Morris Day's classic from the Prince film "Purple Rain".

Also lending his vocals to tracks is Rob Dukes (EXODUS, GENERATION KILL, FRAGILE MORTALS), who can be heard on the JUDAS PRIEST classic "Turbo Lover", LYNYRD SKYNYRD's "Simple Man" and Tom Petty's "Refugee", all songs hand picked by Dukes who has worked with lifelong friend Craig Cefola for decades. Rob was instrumental in helping to get this project off the ground and brought in some of these amazing vocalists to help make this unique collection of covers a reality.

Elsewhere, Jack Gibson (EXODUS, TESTAMENT) and Craig Cefola share their respect for Jerry Reed on "East Bound And Down" from the film "Smokey And The Bandit". Jack plays bass on the track and also performs the song with his side band (COFFIN HUNTER).

Venezuelan rocker Deibys Artigas is featured on "Hell Is For Children", "Call Me", "The Final Countdown", the Spanish classic "Bailando" and the Billy Joel masterpiece "Scenes From An Italian Restaurant", a song that took the band several months to create. Piano parts were turned into acoustic guitar, while saxophone and clarinet morphs into ripping lead guitar solos.

Tbilisi-based vocalist Esté is featured on "Hot Stuff", "Our Lips Are Sealed", "Reach Out" and THE CARS classic "Moving In Stereo". She was the first vocalist on the project and inspired the band to expand the collection to a full album release.

Mitch Saul (KICKSTARTCHARLIE) brings his unique vocal stylings to "Holiday Road" from the film "National Lampoon's Vacation". The band tried out several singers before finally finding the right voice for this rarely covered Lindsey Buckingham classic.

James Arthur (WHEELHOUSE JUNCTION) pays tribute to Johnny Cash for the hard rock version of "Folsom Prison Blues".

Finally, NEW MESSIAH guitarist C. Will Harden gets his chance to shine vocally on FLEETWOOD MAC's "Gold Dust Woman".

This unique collection of covers brings together a special group of excellent talent and pays tribute to these vocalists' favorite songs. Be sure and check out the album tracks on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, Google Play and many streaming services.

SEBASTIAN BACH's Wife And Kids Forced To Evacuate As California Fires Rage: 'I Am Losing My S**t'

Sebastian Bach's wife and kids were among evacuees as wildfires continued to burn in Southern California overnight Tuesday and into Wednesday.

The former SKID ROW singer, who has lived in Los Angeles for most of the last decade, tweeted earlier today that he was freaking out over the fact that his family was being ordered out of the house while he was preparing to play a show with his solo band in Orlando, Florida.

"You'll have to excuse me I'm losing my mind," he wrote. "My wife and kids just got evacuated out of our house in California. Mandatory evacuations on my street. I have a gig tonight. I am losing my shit"

After an outpouring of support from his Twitter followers, Bach added: "I appreciate all of your support guys but there's nothing I can do. I'm in Orlando Florida ready to rock. I can't even get home to my house in California the streets are all shut down. There's literally nothing I can do. Except pray I don't lose my 2nd home #climatechangeisreal"

He later wrote: "Thank you. And I have a gig tonight. I will do my best Orlando. My wife and kids are looking for a hotel room while I get ready to go on stage. I'll do my best Orlando thank you people for your thoughts can't believe this is happening. Again."

Southern California's Getty Fire has burned over 600 acres in West Los Angeles. The Easy Fire, which broke out Wednesday morning in Simi Valley, had burned over 400 acres as of 8 a.m. The area is also facing more danger Wednesday due to strong winds that could lead to a new explosion of wildfires. The National Weather Service issued its first-ever "extreme red flag warning" for much of Ventura and Los Angeles counties.

According to CNN, the Getty Fire was likely caused by a tree branch that broke off from high winds and landed on nearby power lines, sparking and igniting nearby brush, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

Nearly four years ago, Bach sold the Lincroft, New Jersey home that was condemned after massive flooding from Hurricane Irene in 2011. The house that was once featured on MTV's "Cribs" went for $272,500 — about $85,000 less than what he paid almost three decades ago.

Former STYX Frontman DENNIS DEYOUNG Says He Is Putting Finishing Touches On His 'Final' Album

Former STYX frontman Dennis DeYoung is putting the finishing touches on his last-ever collection of new material.

"On this, my final album, I decided to write songs about my journey from humble beginnings in my basement on Chicago's far-south side to the very top [of] my chosen profession," the singer wrote in a message posted to his Facebook page.

DeYoung added that the LP will contain one track which he described as his "ultimate musical and lyrical tribute" to THE BEATLES.

"If you know me, you know of my love for THE BEATLES and their effect on my life and millions of other musicians," he wrote. "But you would be hard pressed to find actual traces of THE BEATLES in STYX songs. I left all BEATLES musical references out of STYX arrangements. However, on this album I created my ultimate musical and lyrical tribute to the lads from Liverpool on one song. There's a fine line between homage and blatant rip off and I pray I haven't crossed it."

According to DeYoung, his BEATLES-inspired song is a duet, and he originally planned on recruiting John Lennon's son Julian to provide guest vocals on the track. "I wrote an email to him and was just about to send it when I listened one last time and suddenly realized Jules should not sing this song," Dennis explained. "It was my story not his."

Julian did, however, contribute his voice to another track on the LP which Dennis wrote on the the piano "specifically for he and I to sing together," DeYoung said. "The music was finished in an hour. I then recorded one verse and one chorus on piano and sang both parts and sent it. He responded by saying he loved it and would be honored to do it. We stood in the control room last night and sang a few lines together and wham bam thank you Sam it sounded even better then I had imagined. Done deal. I knew he would be great but he elevated the song with his heartfelt performance."

Back in April, DeYoung told Billboard that the track he wrote about THE BEATLES' impact on him was called "Hello Goodbye".

"I wrote that song about what THE BEATLES did to me," DeYoung said. "I've never done this before; It's going to be an homage to those records and there's all kinds of lyrical references to [BEATLES] songs. My manager was born in the same hospital that Paul McCartney was in Liverpool; he heard the music track and just flipped out, and he doesn't get excited about anything, so that made me excited about it."

DeYoung's upcoming album will be his first solo set since "One Hundred Years From Now" in 2009. The disc, which is tentatively due next year via Frontiers Music Srl, will feature songwriting collaborations with former SURVIVOR/IDES OF MARCH principal Jim Peterik, a neighbor of DeYoung's in suburban Chicago.

"He sent me an idea, and I went, 'All right.' Then he sent me another one, and I went, 'All right.' We sat down together, I blinked my eye and we had eight songs," DeYoung told Billboard. "We connected on every possible level. He's a little younger than me but we're southside guys from Chicago. We laugh at the same things. We know the same history. We're mature enough and I think wise enough — but I'm not so sure — to know when something is good. There was never one time we had, like, a real disagreement about anything. We both could recognize the excellence in each other."

One of the songs from those sessions, "Proof Of Heaven", was made available last spring.

Hey kids

This will be a long one.

Last night Julian Lennon and I recorded the final song for my new album at Mission...

MARK 'BARNEY' GREENWAY On New NAPALM DEATH Album: 'We're Almost Ready To Put It Out'

NAPALM DEATH frontman Mark "Barney" Greenway spoke to Heavy New York about the progress of the recording sessions for the band's new album, tentatively due in early 2020. The follow-up to 2015's "Apex Predator - Easy Meat" will feature an appearance by guitarist Mitch Harris, who has been taking a leave of absence from NAPALM DEATH since late 2014 to focus on his family life.

"We've been kind of promising something for quite a while, but unforeseen circumstances kind of got in the way," Greenway said (see video below). "And this one has taken a lot longer. We're all good with that now — we've kind of accepted the fact that it has taken quite a while. And recently, there was also a couple of other small delays — minor things — here and there. But, yeah, we're almost ready to put it out.

"Overall, I'm not particularly pleased with myself that it's taken this long, from my contribution to it," Barney admitted. "But it is what it is."

Asked if NAPALM DEATH likes to experiment musically with every album the band makes, Greenway said: "If you follow the chronology of NAPALM, you'll see that whilst everything is [based] in the tradition full-speed attack, there's other elements in there that are constantly moving onwards, onwards, onwards. And I think we've also got a better handle on doing that.

"There's a lot of stuff on there that's almost noise rock, at least the NAPALM style, which is a big thing for us.

"This is my opinion, but I think the one thing that I don't want NAPALM to be remembered as is just a metal band, 'cause that's something that's put on us a lot," he said. "And I understand why people do it to a point, 'cause it's easy to categorize things. But that's really only part of the story."

Barney recently told Metal Mad TV that the "theme" of the upcoming NAPALM DEATH album is "the other." He explained: "One good example of people being treated as the other is this whole thing about immigrants. Not everybody, but there is a certain percentage of the population that looks at them as something different — like, not human, almost. I wanted to challenge that way of thinking. Not only is it the other immigrants or whatever you want to call people that migrate. There's other things as well — other people who are treated as 'the other.' I would suggest simply, generally, that it's not necessary to treat people differently."

NAPALM DEATH has just teamed up with MUNICIPAL WASTE for a co-headlining U.S. tour. The 17-date trek kicked off in Dallas on October 3 and is visiting New York, Chicago and Denver before ending on October 23 in Los Angeles. Opening the night are New York hardcore legends SICK OF IT ALL and hardcore punk/thrash metal band TAKE OFFENSE.

MOTÖRHEAD's PHIL CAMPBELL On His Collaboration With ROB HALFORD: 'I Always Thought He Was An Amazing Character, Amazing Vocalist'

Last week, longtime MOTÖRHEAD guitarist Phil Campbell released his first-ever solo record, "Old Lions Still Roar", via Nuclear Blast. The disc includes the track "Straight Up", featuring the unmistakable vocal talents of JUDAS PRIEST's Rob Halford.

Speaking about how the collaboration came about, Campbell said: "We did a bunch of tours with JUDAS PRIEST over the years, and I always thought [Rob] was just an amazing character, amazing vocalist, and they're an amazing band. So I sent Rob two songs. I did ask him on the last PRIEST tour we did if he would be prepared to sing on my record, and he said he would love to. So I sent him a couple of tracks. One in particular he liked. So, a few months down the line, he sends me the lyrics and the recording. It's called 'Straight Up'. It's a great rocker — it's a great rockin' song. So, I hope you enjoy that one."

"Old Lions Still Roar", which has been in the works for more than five years, includes additional guest appearances by Dee Snider (TWISTED SISTER) and Alice Cooper, among others. Other guest musicians that appear on "Old Lions Still Roar" include Chris Fehn (SLIPKNOT), Benji Webbe (SKINDRED), Whitfield Crane (UGLY KID JOE) and Joe Satriani.

"Old Lions Still Roar" track listing:

01. Rocking Chair (feat. Leon Stanford)

02. Straight Up (feat. Rob Halford)

03. Faith In Fire (feat. Ben Ward)

04. Swing It (feat. Alice Cooper)

05. Left For Dead (feat. Nev MacDonald)

06. Walk The Talk (feat. Danko Jones, Nick Oliveri)

07. These Old Boots (feat. Dee Snider)

08. Dancing Dogs (Love Survives) (feat. Whitfield Crane)

09. Dead Roses (feat. Benji Webbe)

10. Tears From A Glass Eye (feat. Joe Satriani)

Campbell recently told Andrew McKaysmith of the "Scars And Guitars" podcast about "Old Lions Still Roar": "I wouldn't say [it was] 20 years in the making, but 20 years I've been yearning to do a solo album. Since MOTÖRHEAD, sadly, finished, I've had more time to think about [it] and to knuckle down and everything. I probably started the first recording of it about two and a half, three years ago. I wanted to make an album where I branched out a little bit. I've had some of the ideas — one or two of them — for, like, 10 or 12 years, and some not so long. Some are brand new. I just didn't want to do an album sounding like MOTÖRHEAD. I've done 20-odd albums like that."

Speaking about the album's guest stars, Phil said: "I couldn't believe the incredible players that spent some time on the record for me. I'm the luckiest guy in the world in that respect. Mega talent all the way through it, helping me out when I needed help. I've got no complaints whatsoever... Everyone did a fantastic job. I think I did really well on putting people [and] having ideas of who would be great for a certain song... All these people that I tried to put in certain songs and I had ideas for out of the blue would sound good, they all did amazingly well, because they went for the good of the song. So many players these days just play for themselves, and it's got fuck-all to do with the song. They just want to show off, but these people did amazingly well. I'm really pleased in that way... There's a great art in actually playing for the good of the song... You can ruin the song if the bassist hasn't got his shit together. A good song can be ruined. That's the foundation for the track, and it gives it a groove. If that's all gone to pot, a bloody good song can be passed by."

SOIL Releases Music Video For 'One Love'

SOIL has released a "theatrical interpretation" of its song "One Love". Conceptually, SOIL wanted to do something different and interesting with the song since "One Love" originally appeared on the 2013 studio album "Whole". Indie filmmakers David Gregory (director) and James Morgan (director of photography) were tapped for the job. Filming was shot in the U.K. during SOIL's recent tour supporting STATIC-X.

SOIL bassist Tim King commented: "The director approached us with an out-of-the-box concept. It was an odd concept to not feature the band and make the video more of a mini movie rather than a music video. Also, with the song being six years old at this point, it really made no sense to launch it as something brand new or in a traditional way."

With the video having an approach of something similar to the films "The Witch" or "I Spit On Your Grave", the band felt it would be fun to debut the video on Halloween. It's something to celebrate the season while the band works on new material for 2020.

SOIL's latest release was "Scream: The Essentials", which arrived in September 2017 via Pavement Entertainment and AFM Records. The effort celebrated the band's 20-year career and featured early recordings as well as alternate versions and mixes.

In a 2018 interview with Ryze-Up Magazine, King admitted that SOIL was "definitely long overdue for a new record." He said: "We have a bunch of ideas and some pieces of songs and things like that that we've been working on for a long time. But nowadays, with technology and the availability of everything, everybody kind of scatters. We used to all live in Chicago and we'd go in a sweaty rehearsal space and spend hours jamming together and really pound out stuff really fast. As you get older, and the way the world works now, everybody can be scattered and all over the place, but to reel that in, and sending music across the Internet and stuff, we've gotta focus a little bit more. So I think we're gonna go back to the old-school way and just lock ourselves in a rehearsal room for an extended period of time."

He continued: "We've tried everything every different way under the sun, but for this band, getting in a nice, sweaty rehearsal space and being in front of each other and laughing and making jokes and bouncing ideas off each other, that's where we've always gotten our best material. So I think we're going to jump back into that and see what comes. If it's five songs, 10 songs, 15 songs will kind of dictate what kind of a release will be next — whether it be an EP or a full-length or a double album, or whatever comes out of us."

ACE FREHLEY Reunites With Former FREHLEY'S COMET Bandmates At 'Kruise Fest' (Video)

On October 29, Ace Frehley reunited with his former FREHLEY'S COMET bandmates John Regan (bass), Tod Howarth (guitar/lead vocals) and Richie Scarlet (guitar/lead vocals) to perform a couple of songs at the "Kruise Fest" music festival and rock and roll expo at the DoubleTree Hilton Convention Center in Miami, Florida. Fan-filmed video footage of the performance can be seen below.

Frehley, Regan and world-renowned drummer Anton Fig formed FREHLEY'S COMET in 1984. The band went on to sell well over 1.5 million albums and had multiple MTV music videos in heavy rotation from 1987 to 1990.

Scarlet was in FREHLEY'S COMET from 1984 to 1985 and played in three of the band's seven different lineups. Howarth was in FREHLEY'S COMET from 1986 to 1988 and was in the group's last three lineups. Both Frehley and Regan were members of FREHLEY'S COMET for the duration of the band's four-year existence.

Frehley previously reunited with Regan and Howarth to perform the songs "Rock Soldiers" and "Cold Gin" during the original KISS guitarist's September 2017 concert in Poughkeepsie, New York.

Frehley told Ultimate Classic Rock that the keyboards on FREHLEY'S COMET's debut album were a result of "Howarth's influence." He explained: "I tried to keep the keyboards to a minimum, because I'm really not a keyboard guy. KISS never really used them, except on a couple of songs. I always wanted to follow the same direction with my career as I had with KISS musically. It was almost like I had to fight to keep more keyboards off the record, because I was there with three other band members and my producer."

In a 2017 interview with the Poughkeepsie Journal, Regan — who met Frehley in the mid-1980s at a friend's recording studio in White Plains, New York — described Ace as "a kook, in a good sense. In a world full of copies, he's a one-off. He's an original."

Last year, Regan, Howarth, Scarlet joined forces with former ACE FREHLEY drummer Steve Werner in a new band called RETURN OF THE COMET.

STATIC-X Collaborates With METAL MONKEY BREWING On 'Evil Disco Hell' Beer

When it comes to metal and beer, Romeoville, Illinois's Metal Monkey Brewing are no strangers to the game. The two-time veterans of the Decibel Beer & Metal Festival are excited to announce Evil Disco Hell, a collaboration with STATIC-X.

Evil Disco Hell is a helles-style lager, a light-but-full-bodied lager craft lager that will be hitting the Chicago market in early December.

"Having seen the band on the original 'Wisconsin Death Trip' tour, we were excited to work with the band on crafting a beer for the 20-year anniversary," says Dan Camp, brewer and owner of Metal Monkey. "Working with a band is a big deal to us, because at the end of the day we're fans ourselves. But if we can bring a new experience to other fans out there, we think it's a ton of fun. Not only can you enjoy the music, but you can enjoy a tasty beverage that the band was integral in making, so it gives fans a bit more insight as to what else these guys are into."

He continues: "Tony [Campos, STATIC-X bassist] contacted us early into their tour knowing our love and passion for both craft beer and metal, so we've traded ideas back and forth for the past few months to come up with Evil Disco Hell."

STATIC-X will release a new album titled "Project Regeneration", featuring the last recordings of the band's late frontman Wayne Static, on May 29, 2020. The rest of the group's original lineup — bassist Tony Campos, drummer Ken Jay and guitarist Koichi Fukuda — will also be featured on the album and in the music videos, including the promotional clip for the single "Hollow", which was released earier in the month. The teaser, which was directed by STATIC-X's touring vocalist Xer0 and co-directed by Matt Zane, also features a snippet of the band's hit song "Push It", re-recorded in 2019 with Xer0.

While the identity of STATIC-X's touring singer has not been officially revealed, strong rumors suggest that DOPE frontman Edsel Dope is the one performing with Jay, Fukuda and Campos and appearing in all of STATIC-X's promotional videos.

?EVIL DISCO HELL?

Yesterday we brewed up a killer new collaboration with the awesome guys from Static-X! Evil Disco...

Video Premiere: AIRBOURNE's 'Backseat Boogie'

Australian hard rockers AIRBOURNE have unleashed an official music video for their current single, "Backseat Boogie". Shot at the band's sold-out Copenhagen show at Amager Bio just last month, this latest clip captures fans rocking out to new songs from recently released studio album, "Boneshaker", for the very first time.

AIRBOURNE frontman Joel O'Keeffe states: "Half filmed at a soundcheck last Tuesday and half filmed at a crazy sold-out Danish club show — here's 'Backseat Boogie' to whet your appetite for a mega 2020 and the start of a two-year 'Boneshaker' world tour."

"Boneshaker" was released on October 25 via Spinefarm Records. The cover artwork for the disc is a collaboration between Matt Read of Combustion Ltd., and Sean Tidy of Design House Studio Ltd.

With the creation of "Boneshaker", AIRBOURNE decided to take the bolder path; to align with Nashville producer Dave Cobb, whose credits include both Chris Stapleton and "A Star Is Born" soundtrack.

Joel O'Keeffe revealed to Sonic Perspectives that there are tentative plans for AIRBOURNE to tour the U.S. in early 2020.

ALICE COOPER, LZZY HALE Among Musicians Appearing On 'Planet Rock All Stars' Charity Single

Alice Cooper, HALESTORM singer Lzzy Hale and BLACK STONE CHERRY frontman Chris Robertson are among the musicians who will appear on the Planet Rock All Stars charity single. They will be featured on a "rocked up" cover of John Farnham's 1986 hit "You're The Voice", which will be released digitally on December 6. A limited-edition CD version costing £5 will be available to buy throughout the 2000-mile Road 2 Rockstock 2 cycle trek.

All proceeds from the single, which is being produced by WAYWARD SONS' Toby Jepson and also features members of DEF LEPPARD, THE CADILLAC THREE, THE TEMPERANCE MOVEMENT and THE DARKNESS, will go directly to mental health charity Mind.

Other contributors include Tyler Bryant, Dan Reed, Doug Aldrich (DIO, WHITESNAKE, THE DEAD DAISIES) and Whitfield Crane (UGLY KID JOE).

Road 2 Rockstock 2 will see Planet Rock's Wyatt covering 2,000 miles in two weeks, visiting landmarks and famous music venues on the way, while averaging 135 miles a day for 15 consecutive days. He hopes to raise more than £75,000 for Mind.

Last year, Lzzy spoke to Ireland's Overdrive about her decision to launch a mental health awareness campaign in the wake of the tragic death of HUNTRESS frontwoman Jill Janus. Shortly after Jill's passing, Lzzy posted a picture on social media of herself raising the horns, and encouraged others who had suffered from mental illness to do the same and tag their posts with #RaiseYourHorns. In the days that followed, thousands of rock fans from across the world shared the hashtag and their stories.

"I feel that I inadvertently opened a door, if you like," Lzzy said. "This came right on the heels after the passing of Jill, and I just wanted to do something for our community — music, bands, management, crew, etc. — that I know who talk to me about their own struggles. A lot of people started talking to me about it and I found it so inspiring and now I'm able to talk about my own mental stability, which is a very good feeling and it helps a lot."

She continued: "Mental illness runs in our family, and, in fact, Arejay [Hale, HALESTORM drummer and Lzzy's brother] and I have talked a lot about this, and he started going to therapy just for the peace of mind of being able to talk to someone outside of this business, outside of our circle, someone totally independent that he can open up to. He's, like, 'Sis, you know I'm going to talk to someone and I don't even have the volume of people crying on my shoulder like what you have.' I've always been a kind of mediator with people and tend to carry a lot of emotional connections with other people. It's just so important to talk about your feelings and not hide them away."

In her original social media post, Hale encouraged her fans to "keep searching for your lifeline" and added: "Asking for help doesn't mean you're broken. And if you don't know how to ask for help, that's okay too. Those of us who have a shoulder will let you lean on it! We are all in this life together. For those of you with the ability to lend a hand or and ear, DO IT! We have a responsibility to help each other, 'cuz everything we say, do and touch affects the whole race. We are all connected."

Ex-IRON MAIDEN Singer PAUL DI'ANNO To Release 'Hell Over Waltrop - Live In Germany' In January

In the summer of 2006, Paul Di'Anno was asked if he would like to perform with his German band PHANTOMS OF THE OPERA at a city festival in the small Westphalian town of Waltrop on a bill that also included FURY IN THE SLAUGHTERHOUSE and SYDNEY YOUNGBLOOD. After initial skepticism about how to get the expected pop and disco fans, they decided to play the gig, especially since it marked a hometown performance for the two RE-VISION musicians, bassist Gonzo and drummer Dom, who formed the rhythm foundation of the PHANTOMS. And that scepticism vanished and suddenly turned into pure magic at the moment the band entered the stage. The city festival crowd mutated into an enthusiastic metal crowd, celebrating Paul and his boys through their brilliant gig. The show was also completely recorded by producer and FOH man Thomas Mergler. At home, however, he found that the recordings were unusable due to an error by the monitor crew.

After more than 12 years, Thomas found the tapes again by chance. And he managed to save the old recordings with the help of more modern technical possibilities. The result is "100% kick-ass rock without tricks and overdubs," according to a press release. The band presents itself in top form and serves the audience various classics from the IRON MAIDEN early phase and from the solo career of Paul Di'Anno.

Track listing:

01. Prowler

02. Murders In The Rue Morgue

03. Impaler

04. Remember Tomorrow

05. Children Of Madness

06. Marshall Lokjaw

07. The Living Dead

08. The Beast Arises

09. The Faith Healer

10. The Phantom Of The Opera

11. Transylvania

12. Running Free

13. Blitzkrieg Bop

14. Sanctuary

Recorded on August 27, 2006 at Parkfest in Waltrop

Recording lineup:

Paul - vocals

Andy - guitar

D.D. - guitar

Gonzo - bass

Dom - drums

Di'Anno has battled a number of health issues in recent years. He reportedly underwent an operation in 2016 to remove a "rugby ball-sized abscess" on his lungs and required a knee-replacement operation on both knees after getting involved in several motorcycle accidents over the years. As a result, Di'Anno was forced to sit down while performing at his most recent shows.

Di'Anno recorded two classic albums with IRON MAIDEN before being replaced by Bruce Dickinson. He went on to front a number of other bands, including KILLERS and BATTLEZONE, and released several solo records.

In March 2011, Di'Anno was sentenced to nine months in a U.K. prison after he falsely collected government benefits by claiming he suffered nerve damage to his back that prevented him from working.

Di'Anno completed his first North American tour in early 2010, 17 years after he was deported following a prison term for guns and drug offenses.

BLUE ÖYSTER CULT Hard At Work On New Material

BLUE ÖYSTER CULT is hard at work on new material for a studio album that will be released next year. According to frontman Eric Bloom, "the band is in the middle of creating new songs and recording them in between tour dates and, as they evolve in rehearsals and soundchecks, we hope to be able to drop a song or two into our live shows soon. Everyone is involved in the writing and arrangement of the new material and we're all excited about the prospect of a new BÖC album to be released in 2020."

In other news, BLUE ÖYSTER CULT has confirmed a January 24, 2020 release date for "Hard Rock Live Cleveland 2014" and a reissued, remastered version of its 12th studio album, "Cult Classic".

Recorded on October 17, 2014 at the Hard Rock Casino in Northfield, Ohio, "Hard Rock Live Cleveland 2014" offers a comprehensive and exciting look at the BLUE ÖYSTER CULT repertoire. With nearly two hours of music, the band is on fire, performing some of the finest and most beloved songs from its history, while not forgetting some deeper cuts which will make longtime fans of the band quite happy. The release will be available 2CD+DVD, Blu-ray, and 3xLP (180g, gatefold) formats.

Says Bloom: "I'm most excited about the formats, i.e. a triple vinyl, DVD, CD, Blu-ray of the 2014 concert from the Hard Rock Cleveland 2014. A collector's delight." This is the first in a series of live releases which are going to be released during 2020.

Originally released in 1994, "Cult Classic" includes updated recordings of the band's biggest hits, including such classics as "(Don't Fear) The Reaper", "Burning For You", "Astronomy" and "Godzilla", among others. This reissue is remastered and comes with updated artwork. It will be available on CD and 2xLP (180g, gatefold) formats. "'Cult Classic' hasn't been available for many years and now here it is again in all these new ways," adds Bloom.

With a history spanning almost five decades, BLUE ÖYSTER CULT has a long history of success. They've sold more than 24 million records worldwide, including seven million in the United States alone. Songs like "Burnin' For You", "Godzilla", "Astronomy" and "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" are true classics and staples of the classic rock genre. Often cited as a major influence by some of the biggest names in hard rock and heavy metal (including IRON MAIDEN and METALLICA), BLUE ÖYSTER CULT's sound has evolved through the decades, touching hard rock, heavy metal, progressive, and psychedelic rock. BLUE ÖYSTER CULT is sometimes referred to as "the thinking man's heavy metal band," due to its often cryptic lyrics, literate songwriting, and links to famous authors.

CHILDREN OF BODOM Releases Animated Video For 'Hexed' Title Track

Finnish metallers CHILDREN OF BODOM have released an official animated video for the title track of their latest album, "Hexed".

The RMIT University in Australia worked on the clip for the last 15 weeks, with producers Aaron McLoughlin and Simon Norton spending around 3000 hours with their team to create the video.

Aaron states: "As always, we like to come up with something that suits what the band is all about, so we drew inspiration from the song lyrics as well as the monochromatic imagery found in CHILDREN OF BODOM's videos and album art. We decided a black-and-white horror film would be cool — set on a lake, of course! And we had to include a Roy cameo appearance, obviously!

"Although 'Hexed' is a fast track, it's also particularly measured in the way it plays out over the five-minute duration, so part of the fun was crafting a cinematic narrative that flows with the amazing technical precision of the music.

"The animation students at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia are some of the most talented rising stars in the world, and I think they've done a terrific job on this project.

"Animating metal videos is such a fun thing to do at university, and the team felt very honored creating this film for CHILDREN OF BODOM."

CHILDREN OF BODOM bassist Henkka Seppälä adds: "It's such a cool thing to have a video of one my favorite tracks of the album. And the fact it's made by Aaron and his 25 students in Australia is even cooler. The black-and-white calm mood suits perfectly to this not-so-calm song. The lake and its reflection makes a perfect ending for it."

"Hexed" came out in March via Nulcear Blast Records. The disc saw CHILDREN OF BODOM return to Finland's Danger Johnny Studios where the band was reunited with Mikko Karmila ("I Worship Chaos", "Halo Of Blood", "Hatebreeder", "Follow The Reaper" and "Hate Crew Deathroll") who recorded everything except keyboards and also produced the album with the group. Janne Wirman recorded keyboards at Beyond Abilities Studios. The album was mixed and mastered at Finnvox Studios in Helsinki, Finland.

Asked how the musical direction of BRITISH LION's follow-up effort will be different from "British Lion", Harris told The Metal Voice: "The band has evolved over the last five or six years live — we've played quite a lot of shows in Europe and stuff — so it's become more of a tighter band. I think we've found our direction is naturally evolving, and if anything, I think it's getting heavier than it was, really. It's very melodic. The songs are… I don't know… There's still kind of a UFO, THIN LIZZY type of influence, I think, in a lot of them, [and] there are influences too, but in general, I think we are getting just a little bit harder-edged, really. These days, I suppose there are some bands that make even MAIDEN sound like THE MOODY BLUES — there's some real, real heavy bands out there — so what I think is heavy and what other people think is 'getting heavier' is two [completely different things]. But we feel we're a bit harder-edged than we were. So it is a bit of a slight directional change, possibly. But it's been a natural thing; it's not something we consciously thought, 'Oh, we've gotta go this way.' It's just been the way we're playing our live shows — it's very powerful, much more powerful live than on record, I think. And I think with the second record, we've tried to capture that essence of what we are live more."

BRITISH LION's debut album sold around 3,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 3 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

"British Lion" was released in the U.S. in September 2012 via Universal Music Enterprises (UMe). The disc was mixed by Kevin Shirley, whose credits include IRON MAIDEN as well as LED ZEPPELIN, JOURNEY and RUSH.
