New Song Premiere: THESE ARE THEY's 'Steeple Of Blood'

"Steeple Of Blood", a brand new song from Chicago death metallers THESE ARE THEY, can be streamed below. The track is taken from the band's third full-length album, "At The Feast Of Seven Funerals", which will be released on November 17 via The End Records/Unruly Sounds.

Recorded at Bell City Sound Studios in Racine, Wisconsin, the CD was once again engineered by Chris Djuricic, with mixing and mastering handled by Dan Swanö of Sweden's Unisound Studios.

In addition to the core writing team of vocalist, Paul Kuhr (NOVEMBERS DOOM), guitarist Steve Nicholson (formerly of NOVEMBERS DOOM) and guitarist Justin Jurgevich (formerly of HURTLOCKER), THESE ARE THEY now includes bassist Mike Flaherty (formerly of LOUDMOUTH) and drummer Tony Bettenhausen (formerly of HURTLOCKER).

Said Nicholson: "'Steeple Of Blood' is the apex moment of the story of Lucius Mortimer, an unholy gunman bent on greed, who celebrates death... At The Feast Of Seven Funerals."

Added Flaherty: "When you hear this song, you'll start throwing tables!"

Encompassing a faster and more aggressive approach than previous efforts, "At The Feast Of Seven Funerals" pushes the band forward in its experimentation, musicianship and overall production.

"'Disposing Of Betrayers' was a big leap forward for us, defining our own sound," said Kuhr.

"With 'At The Feast Of Seven Funerals', we wanted to take a step further into the aggression, and to stand out among our peers. I believe we succeeded in this.

"Following a concept-driven album like the past releases, 'At The Feast Of Seven Funerals' deals with the American West in the 1800s, as the concept and story was conceived through the mind of Steven Nicholson.

"This is pure old-school Chicago death metal."
