In November, Sons Of Texas independently released a three-song EP titled Resurgence. Now comes a video for "Lock, Stock & Barrel" from that EP.
Says vocalist Mark Morales, "We arranged a big-ass party in the middle of nowhere, way down in Donna, Texas, and invited everyone for BBQ, booze and a good time! It was our very own 'Q n' Brew,' if you will! For this video, we really wanted to catch the sense of a good time that our music invokes."

SLIPKNOT's music video for the song "Nero Forte" can be seen below. The clip, which was was filmed in late October, was once again directed by percussionist M. Shawn Crahan, better known as Clown, who is also the art director for SLIPKNOT and who directed the band's DVDs.
"Nero Forte" is taken from SLIPKNOT's latest album, "We Are Not Your Kind", which came out in August.
Guitarist Jim Root recently told Kerrang! magazine about "Nero Forte": "This is a Clown song, which is amazing. This one is going to be great live. It's very percussive, and reminiscent of 'Psychosocial' [from 2008's 'All Hope Is Gone'] — but maybe an evolution of 'Psychosocial'. Obviously, Clown is a drummer and percussionist, but he's also a songwriter — and he always has been. Now we're able to collaborate as songwriters, and this is what we end up with. When Corey [Taylor, vocals] came in and started diving into the vocals, he came up with this extra melody in the chorus line very late into the process. That really drew me into this song."
Corey admitted to WhatCulture Music that he "was struggling with" the chorus to "Nero Forte" during the writing process. "Everything I wrote just didn't match the great shit that was going on and the lyrics and then that bridge," he said. "The chorus, it just always felt like the ass was falling out of it, for lack of a better term. But, honestly, I took my cue from a melody line that Clown had put on there with a keyboard, actually, which I didn't even hear that melody line until… Then he pointed it out. He was, like, 'Listen to this,' and I actually listened to it and that became the high falsetto vibe. And then I wrote the harmony to that. And then it just took off from there. So it was one of those things where — it was almost like learning a new lesson. Sometimes you don't have the best idea, but it doesn't mean that the best idea isn't there. And we just kind of went from there."
"We Are Not Your Kind" sold 118,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in its first week of release to land at position No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Recently winning "Metal Album of The Year" at the GAMIQ awards (Gala alternatif de la musique indépendante du Québec) for their debut, Angry, Undead, released this past March on PRC Music, brutal death metal contingent The Flaying are paying homage to their hometown of Quebec City with the new music video, "Place du Parvis".
The band explains: "Place du Parvis is an important hub in Quebec city. It's an area in our hometown that's a very lively place that sees all social classes living side by side, for better or for worse. From the spray-painted back alleys to the churches, to the restaurants and household dwellings. We found hitting the street like a metal Beastie Boys posse was the best way to showcase our love for this track and hometown. Special thanks and shout out to Jannick Côté from Headcase Prods for filming and editing, Carl Méthot from HsProds for filming for being outstanding as always. Thanks to all of you for coming to the shows, supporting your bands and scene!"

In 2018, The New Black guitarist Fabian "Fabs" Schwarz took a bold step out of his comfort zone by launching a solo project dubbed Who Brought The Dog. The independently released debut album, Welcome To The Man Cave, was a far cry from anything he had recorded before in that he consciously kept his metal roots locked away while experimenting with a rock sound that found its way into the realms of indie, blues, alternative, funk, jazz, punk and even pop. Comfortable as a multi-talented musician and vocalist but concerned about having lyrics of matching calibre, Fabs enlisted the help of Canadian heavy metal journalist, Carl Begai (BraveWords), a partnership that ultimately shaped the musical direction of the album. This collaboration continued through 2019 as Who Brought The Dog found its footing as a live act with drummer Philipp Klinger and guitarist Benjamin Haupt, resulting in a new and equally schizophrenic album, No World Order. It was released on October 4th via MDD Records.
Check out the official video for "Dark Side Mary" below.
"'Dark Side Mary' is a tribute to a real person, someone who is without question the biggest Star Wars nerd in the galaxy. That said, there are intentional references to the classic films / characters in the lyrics. Call it praise to the ultimate fan."
Another labour of love for Fabs and Carl, No World Order features 10 songs that follow a similar path to the debut and expand on the Who Brought The Dog sound. Lyrically based in the world of real people and real situations - and in the case of "Who Brought The Dog", a shameless tribute to the project - the songs are based on a solid rock foundation with Fabs building on it in unexpected directions. Combining jazz-oriented grooves with Bollywood soundbytes ("When The World Stops Turning"), an AOR big band vibe ("Saviour To None"), or dance club beats gone rock ("Dark Side Mary"), these are just a few examples of the "no fear" attitude that makes Who Brought The Dog stand out in a cluttered music scene.
Heading into 2020, Who Brought The Dog will take things to the next level with official videos and more live shows. The songs earmarked to bring the Fabs' new music to the world - "Celebretard", "No World Order" and "The Music Man" - showcase various facets of his musical personality, from quirky fun, to straight ahead rock, to provocatively dark. No matter the respective musical direction of the 10 songs on the album, however, there is never a dull moment.
As cliché as it sounds, it's best to go into No World Order expecting the unexpected, which is what the world needs right now.
Tracklist:
"Who Brought The Dog"
"Choking On Your Halo"
"Dark Side Mary"
"No World Order"
"Celebretard"
"The Music Man"
"Saviour To None"
"Your Careless Spark"
"In Case You Missed It"

French extreme metallers, Svart Crown, are back with a new single and video, a new album, and a tour. The album, Wolves Among The Ashes, will be released on February 7. Check out second single, "Exoria", below.
Wolves Among The Ashes is certainly their most mature and diverse album to date. This new set of songs promises a deep and introspecting journey, from freezing black metal vibes to post-modern apocalyptic death metal.
Across tortured and bleak landscapes, the French quartet is exploring the most sombre and psychotic traits of humanity, from the telluric plea of "Thermaggedon" to the powerful vision of their new monolith "Living With The Enemy", slithering through sexual innuendo on "Art Of Obedience" or channeling spirituality on "Down To Nowhere". With its message both poignant and thoughtful, "Wolves Among The Ashes" is a true devil in sheep's skin and a new exciting milestone in Svart Crown's history.
Wolves Among The Ashes will be available in the following formats, and can be pre-ordered here.

U.K. prog metal/rock act Novena have released the track “Disconnected” (Single Version) along with an accompanying video. Stream/download “Disconnected” here.
Comments the band, "In writing Secondary Genesis, we were saying to ourselves, 'What could this be?' With our new album, we are saying 'This is who we are.' After three years of working hard to define, write, and record a new album, we are enormously excited to share our debut LP with the world. It acknowledges all of the experimental roads we explored on Secondary Genesis, and refines them, focuses them, and directs them. This new record incorporates all of the heavy catharsis, fragile melody, rich harmony, and grand storytelling of the EP, but takes it further and casts the net wider. Still, our aim was to write and tell heartfelt stories, both true and fictitious. In doing so, we've created something that we're proud to share with you and hope you'll enjoy. We're enormously excited to be working with Frontiers today and in the future; to share a label with a number of our favourite bands is a dream. Expect so much more from us in the coming years - on record, online and in person. Today is just the beginning. Tomorrow is the eleventh hour. The rest is just the space between."
Novena’s music moves from the profound to the profane, from the fragile to the unforgiving, and from the introspective to the utterly destructive, exploring a plethora of different genres along the way. Despite this, every song has a solid and personal identity, with choruses that dare the listener to try and forget them.
Novena exploits fully the world class skills of their talented line-up: from Ross Jennings’ (Haken, Mike Portnoy's Shattered Fortress) unmatchable voice, to Gareth Mason’s (Slice The Cake) inimitable poetry; Dan Thornton’s (ex-Haarp Machine, ex-No Sin Evades His Gaze) blistering guitar work, to Cameron Spence’s (Ravenface, Eevah) invariably musical drumming, deeply rooted in pop idiom, and unlike anything else in the modern prog scene; from Moat Lowe’s (Slugdge, ex-NSEHG) expressive and versatile bass playing to Harrison White’s (Theatrical Director and Composer) complex and nuanced compositions. Novena delivers something greater than the sum of its parts.
Japanese pop-metal band BABYMETAL has unveiled a new video for the track "Da Da Dance". Filmed across various shows during the group's "Metal Galaxy" world tour, the clip includes footage from BABYMETAL's first-ever U.S. arena show at the Forum in Los Angeles on October 11.
"Da Da Dance", which features a guest appearance by guitarist Tak Matsumoto from B'Z, is taken from BABYMETAL's third studio LP, "Metal Galaxy". The effort hit No. 19 in the U.K. official album chart, No. 1 No. 1 on Billboard's Top Rock Albums chart, becoming the first Asian act to land at No. 1 becoming the first Asian band to top the chart, and No. 18 on the German chart.
In the U.S., "Metal Galaxy" earned 28,000 equivalent album units (of which 27,000 were in album sales) in its first week of release. The album also topped the Hard Rock Albums chart.
"Metal Galaxy" entered the all-format Billboard 200 chart at No. 13. The group's previous disc, 2016's "Metal Resistance", peaked at No. 39.
Five years and two albums removed from their viral single "Gimme Chocolate!" that saw hundreds of millions of streams across the world, the release of "Metal Galaxy" proves beyond a reasonable doubt that BABYMETAL has staying power. With this release, the band has achieved its best performing album to date by more than doubling U.S. album sales accompanied by its highest charting positions worldwide.
"Metal Galaxy" was released on October 11 via earMUSIC/Edel. The follow-up to 2016's "Metal Resistance" is based on the concept of "The Odyssey Of Metal Galaxy".
"Metal Galaxy" contains 14 songs, including four singles that were released prior to the LP's arrival: "Pa Pa Ya!!", "Starlight", "Distortion" and "Elevator Girl". The album expresses light and darkness, emotions like duality and ambivalence, and "new metal" created by various chemical reactions as other entities evolved and expanded in this album.
Just like the sun and the moon changes the appearance of this world with its daylight and moonlight, with evermore new type of various sound, BABYMETAL's music paints the metal galaxy in different colors.
The album includes five songs that feature guest appearances from worldwide musicians who were perfect to the character of each song. Vocalist Joakim Brodén from SABATON is featured on "Oh! Majinai". Guitarist Tim Henson and Scott LePage from POLYPHIA are featured on "Brand New Day". Vocalist Alissa White-Gluz from ARCH ENEMY is featured on "Distortion". Rapper F.Hero is featured in "Pa Pa Ya!!" The guest musicians add more colors to the odyssey of the metal galaxy.
Professionally filmed video footage of METALLICA performing the song "Nothing Else Matters" on August 21 at PGE Narodowy in Warsaw, Poland can be seen below.
Earlier this month, Billboard reported that METALLICA was the highest-ranked hard rock act on the magazine's year-end Boxscore chart, with a combined gross of $177 million from 46 reported concerts during the band's ongoing "WorldWired" tour. The band sold 1.7 million tickets around the world during the 12-month time frame that determined the chart's rankings.
METALLICA will headline five major North American festivals next year, all of which are produced by Danny Wimmer Presents. The events are Epicenter, Welcome To Rockville, Sonic Temple Music + Arts, Louder Than Life and Aftershock. The band will play two separate headlining sets at each stop, with a unique setlist for each performance, resulting in 10 different shows.
These shows will be METALLICA's only U.S. festival appearances of 2020. The quartet will play on Friday night and Sunday night at each event.
To mark the 20th anniversary of METALLICA's first performance with the San Francisco Symphony, which resulted in the live "S&M" album and video, the band re-teamed with the symphony in early September for two shows for the grand opening of Chase Center, the new home of the Golden State Warriors.
A film of the concerts, called "S&M²", arrived in theaters worldwide in October.

SUICIDE SILENCE's latest, self-titled album came out in February 2017 via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. The CD was produced by Ross Robinson, who has previously worked with KORN, SLIPKNOT, LIMP BIZKIT and SEPULTURA, among others, and was mixed by Joe Barresi (KYUSS, MELVINS, TOOL, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE).
The controversy over the album's sound — featuring a more melodic and clean singing style, in the vein of acts like DEFTONES and KORN — caused one disgruntled fan to launch a petition to stop the record coming out.
SUICIDE SILENCE's performance at the December 2015 benefit show in support of Mental Health America Of Los Angeles (MHLA) at The Observatory in Santa Ana was released this past July as the album "Live & Mental" via Nuclear Blast.
"Live & Mental" was produced by the band while mixing was handled by Josh Gilbert (WOVENWAR, AS I LAY DYING). The cover photos were shot by Jerry John Nicholl.
"Fall To Ascend", the new Christian Rios-directed video from SONS OF APOLLO — featuring former DREAM THEATER members Mike Portnoy and Derek Sherinian, Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal (ex-GUNS N' ROSES), Billy Sheehan (THE WINERY DOGS, MR. BIG, DAVID LEE ROTH) and Jeff Scott Soto (ex-JOURNEY, ex-YNGWIE MALMSTEEN'S RISING FORCE) — can be seen below. The song is taken from SONS OF APOLLO's second studio album, "MMXX" (pronounced: 20/20), which will be released on January 17, 2020 via InsideOut Music/Sony. Produced by The Del Fuvio Brothers (Portnoy and Sherinian), "MMXX" will be made available as a standard CD package, limited-edition 2 CD package (which includes instrumental mixes and a cappella excerpts), 2 LP + CD package, and on all digital formats.
"MMXX" track listing:
01. Goodbye Divinity (7:16)
02. Wither To Black (4:48)
03. Asphyxiation (5:09)
04. Desolate July (6:11)
05. King Of Delusion (8:49)
06. Fall To Ascend (5:07)
07. Resurrection Day (5:51)
08. New World Today (16:38)
"Stylistically, we have followed the same path as the debut," outlines Portnoy. "But we feel that it has come out stronger, simply because we know one another better. 'Psychotic Symphony' was the first time the five of us had worked together, so there was bound to be an air of experimentation happening. Now, we can draw on having the experience not only of recording that album, but also of touring together a lot. And now there is clearly a lot more obvious chemistry going on."
"We did 83 shows on the last tour," adds keyboardist Derek Sherinian. "And it was so worthwhile, because we came out of it with a stronger bond, and that is certainly reflected in what we wrote."
The writing process began at the start of the year, as Portnoy, Sherinian and guitarist Thal got together. "The three of us were at my home studio in Pennsylvania," explains Portnoy. "And it took about three weeks to get all the music written. That was a very smooth process. The last time, it certainly must have felt a little weird for Bumblefoot to be writing with Derek and me, because we were strangers to him. Now, we know one another better and that helped things push along."
"Because we all have our home studios, it meant everyone could record there as and when they had opportunity," continues Sherinian. "We all had the luxury of being able to take our time to get all the parts done, which was a huge help in the way the album's come out. I suppose in all, it took about eight months to record everything."
The lyrics were written by Soto, who also came up with the melody lines with input from Sherinian. "While Jeff was left to come up with the words on his own, as the melody lines are part of the music, it made sense for me to be involved with that part," says the keyboard player.
There are eight tracks on "MMXX", with variations in length totaling 60 minutes. "The final song is 'New World Today', which is 16 minutes long," says Portnoy. "This one has elements similar to 'Opus Maximus' and 'Labyrinth' on the previous album. It has some insane, brilliant instrumental moments, which I am sure the fans will love."
"We wanted to do something epic here, as we did with 'Opus Maximus' last time around," adds Sherinian. "You have to remember that Mike and I come from DREAM THEATER, where we never bothered about how long a song was. So, for us doing a 16-minute track is not a problem."
The album title was inspired by a simple chronological fact. "This will be released in mid-January 2020," says Portnoy. "That means it will be one of the first releases in what is a new decade. So I came up with the idea of calling it '2020', except having it written in the Latin form of 'MMXX'." And the album's artwork has been created by Thomas Ewerhard (who was responsible for the cover design of "Psychotic Symphony"), which inevitably reflects the title. As Portnoy explains, "For the first record, we had a mythological feel. This time around though, there's a much more futuristic style to what we've got. It has a very 21st century appeal. And the band crest is more polished, cleaned up and a lot more modern than last time, when it had an old-fashioned look."
"Each member of this band has their own signature sound on their instrument," adds Sherinian. "And when you put all of this together what you get is a wonderful five-headed beast. It makes this a sonically special band, which is definitely what comes across on 'MMXX'. You can hear odd time signatures and amazingly crazy performances here. Overall, we've been satisfyingly more adventurous this time than we were before, and I know people are sure to love what we've done."
In touring news, the band's headlining "MMXX" world tour will launch January 24 in Pomona, California and will take them around the world throughout the new year. They have also just announced European tour dates for March 2020.
MÖTLEY CRÜE has released a 2019 music video for the "Shout At The Devil" album song "Looks That Kill", with additional footage from the band's biopic "The Dirt". Check it out below.
"The Dirt", based on CRÜE's 2001 New York Times bestselling autobiography, debuted in March on Netflix. The film's stars, Douglas Booth (Nikki Sixx), "Game Of Thrones"' Iwan Rheon (Mick Mars), Colson Baker (a.k.a. Machine Gun Kelly) (Tommy Lee), Daniel Webber (Vince Neil), David Costabile (Doc McGhee) and Pete Davidson (Tom Zutaut) have all gotten critical kudos. "They possess similar abilities to navigate between charm and repulsion, all working together to create such a chummy group that their power as an ensemble elevates the material. Just like their real-life counterparts," wrote The Guardian.
MÖTLEY CRÜE's Nikki Sixx said: "In the film, we show painful examples of domestic violence, DUI, manslaughter, drug overdose and the loss of a child. We couldn't possibly have crammed everything from a 430-page book into an-hour-and-50-minute movie, but we felt we achieved our objective of showing the downside of sex drugs and rock and roll."
"The Dirt Soundtrack" features four new songs, including the first single, "The Dirt (Est. 1981) (feat. Machine Gun Kelly)", and CRÜE's unlikely cover of Madonna's "Like A Virgin".
MÖTLEY CRÜE's last studio album was 2008's "Saints Of Los Angeles", which was followed by a 2009 "Greatest Hits" compilation.
CRÜE will team up with DEF LEPPARD, POISON and JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHEARTS for a 22-date North American stadium tour next summer. "The Stadium Tour" kicks off July 7 at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium and winds down on September 5 at Los Angeles's SoFi Stadium. Tickets go on sale on December 13 at 10:00 a.m.
The trek marks CRÜE's first live dates since wrapping its 2014/2015 farewell tour. The band toured with POISON back in 2011 and DEF LEPPARD teamed up with POISON for a string of road dates in 2017 — but the upcoming jaunt marks the first time all four acts have hit the road together for an extended tour.
Dublin’s metalcore act Neon Empire has released their new single, “This Clarity”.
The single features guest appearances by Dead By April’s Jimmie Strimell and Pontus Hjelm.
Neon Empire is an electronic metalcore band from Dublin, Ireland founded in 2019 by vocalist/guitarist and primary songwriter Hassan Ali. Initially a solo project, Hassan later recruited John Collard to assist with vocals, then Veronika Švecová on drums and later Tom Ambrose on bass to finalize the lineup.
"Armed To The Teeth", the new video from Canadian thrash metal veterans ANNIHILATOR, can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's upcoming album, "Ballistic, Sadistic", due on January 24, 2020 via Silver Lining Music.
Founding guitarist, vocalist, producer and principal songwriter Jeff Waters states about the song: "'Armed To The Teeth' is simply about how one should never judge a book by its cover. If you poke a bear with a stick, abuse or bully someone, or treat a living creature with disrespect, be prepared that it might turn around and retaliate, far beyond what you ever thought possible. The retaliation could be ballistic and sadistic. Whether it's about a music industry jerk bullying an artist or about a kid being bullied on the way home from school, karma will catch up to you and bite you in the face. Someday.
"Although this is a very heavy and aggressive song, we chose to represent the subject by clips of a teen getting bullied; a serious, common, and relevant subject to touch on... and we thought it more appealing than showing this 53-year-old musician taking shit from someone in the music biz! Enjoy the metal."
Cited by bands in the likes of MEGADETH, PANTERA, DREAM THEATER, CHILDREN OF BODOM, LAMB OF GOD, OPETH, TRIVIUM and many, many more as having some influence on their music, Waters and his bandmates have continued to tour the world year after year while consistently putting out high-quality "true metal" music.
Written, performed, engineered and produced by none other than Waters himself, "Ballistic, Sadistic" was recorded at the brand new, state-of-the-art Watersound Studios UK in Durham earlier this year.
Waters says: "Almost every artist initially loves the songs they create. They are like your babies. In my case, it is difficult to be the main writer/producer and stay fresh, come up with new ideas or make old ones better and I am well aware of that. Since 'we' love what we do, we can be blinded to just how good or bad a song or record really is. Time will tell. Press, fans, band members, label, etc., they ALL will tell you what they think and, in their own ways, they are usually right. In this case, I throw that nonsense in the garbage and can tell you that we have made a record that is angry, technical, back to the first three records vibes and it is going to be difficult to continue writing another record after releasing this one. Best record I've made since 2005's 'Schizo Deluxe' and I think many will argue that this new one is in the top three. From the 'Stonewall'-esque track 'Psycho Ward' to the haunting 'I Am Warfare', the pissed-off 'The Attitude' to the aggression and old-school technicality of 'Out With The Garbage', the record is like this: take the 'Alice', 'Neverland' and 'Set The World On Fire' records, make them angry, combine the old-school production with modern high-tech studio gear, then add the best guitar work I didn't know I still had in me, and you've got the best we could possibly offer. I honestly cannot wait for everyone to hear this."
Halestorm have released a new video, featuring an acoustic performance of the song "Heart Of Novocaine", which can be seen below.
"'Heart Of Novocaine' was one of those rare songs that was written in about five minutes," says vocalist Lzzy Hale. "It was a moment I needed to take to change the negative thoughts in my head into something positive. This song is a good example of how I use my music as my personal therapist. I was about to come out on the other side of this song stronger and full of forgiveness, I hope it does the same for all of you!"
"We lived through a fire, a mudslide, an earthquake and 19 months in Burbank, California to make sure our debut album was released," says Halestorm vocalist Lzzy Hale. "To celebrate our 10th year anniversary of our debut album on Atlantic Records, we decided to include raw, never before heard demos and rejects, new art, and a personal letter from me taking you through our rollercoaster ride. I hope you enjoy this special piece of Halestorm history."
December 20th is the release date for the self-titled debut album from Halestorm, pressed onto 12” standard vinyl marking the 10th anniversary. The 2 disc LP contains the original album on translucent sea blue vinyl and demos on translucent highlighter yellow vinyl.

Scorpions' The Final Sting”tour concluded in Munich, Germany on this day in 2012. The footage below was filmed in Saarbrücken, Germany on April 15, 2011. It was the seconnd leg of the band's epic world tour, which lasted a total of four and a half years with just one six month break.
Scorpions guitarist Matthias Jabs was recently a guest on New Zealand’s The Metal Bar, and confirmed that the band is working on a new album, and are planning a July 2020 residency in Las Vegas.
Jabs says, "We've been writing some material before we went on tour, before we went on tour this summer. It's always difficult to come up with stuff on tour. You get the inspiration, but to actually put it down, that's a different story, when you travel every day. So we have songs, about ten, I guess, but we will have to do some more writing once this tour is over, and then prepare for the rehearsals and recordings right after our shows in New Zealand and a couple in Asia. So we will be back in early March. And we know that we work with the producer Greg Fidelman, who is known for doing Metallica and Slipknot and others, and he's a great guy. And he came to visit in our studio in Hannover, Germany already. So the plan is to record until the first of July, where we have a residency in Las Vegas for a whole month. And then, during that time, we can either do the final touch-ups or mix. And then the album should come out in the fall of 2020. And then, of course, we go on the road again."
Get ready for the biggest hard rock tour of 2020. Scorpions and Whitesnake are coming for their first ever double headline tour of Australia and New Zealand. Feel the bite of Whitesnake and the sting of the Scorpions.
"We’re gonna rock you like a hurricane,“ promises Scorpions vocalist, Klaus Meine.

22 - Qudos Bank Arena - Sydney, Australia
24 - Entertainment Centre - Brisbane, Australia

Vulcano will release their new album, Eye In Hell, March 2020 via Mighty Music. BraveWords is premiering the new single and video for the hellish “Bride Of Satan”! Check it out below:
In a time when new bands are born at every minute and meaningless albums are spit forth and back, the simple existence of an entity with the historical depth, aura and attitude of Vulcano is nothing short of amazing. The Brazilian black/thrash metal masters are now back to studio album titled Eye In Hell, to be released worldwide by Mighty Music on the first quarter of 2020. Eye In Hell was produced by Zhema Rodero and Ivan Pelliciotti in O Beco studios, in Curitiba, Brazil, between April and August 2019 and has artwork drawn by Roberto Toderico (Paganizer, Pestilence, Sodom, Tygers Of Pan Tang).
Vulcano were one of Brazil's first heavy metal bands of note. Coming into existence some time before (and having no small influence upon) that country's most famous metal export, Sepultura, Vulcano's albums were far too inaccessible to surface above the heavy metal underground with any regularity; and yet, alongside fellow Brazilians Sarcofago, Mutilator, and others, their primal, astoundingly violent blend of black and thrash metal has attained a worldwide cult legend among some of the genre's most extreme practitioners - notably, Norway's feared black metal inner circle of the early '90s.
“Vulcano has always been a DIY band in essence, since it’s very first album”, states Zhema. “But for the first time in our almost 39-year career, we signed a record deal with a label with name and focus on metal. We’re very proud to be now in a roster with renamed artists - some of them created in the same era we did - like Tygers of Pan Tang and Artillery”, he continues. “This union gave us extra motivation and energy to keep going and I believe we still have a lot of albums and shows ahead”.
Lineup:
Zhema Rodero - guitar
Luiz Carlos Louzada - vocals
Carlos Diaz - bass

German/American power metallers, Serious Black, will release their fourth studio album, Suite 226, on January 31 via AFM Records. You can pre-order the album here, and watch a video for the first single, "When The Stars Are Right", below.
For eighteen months it was really quiet on the Serious Black front, a comparatively long time for a band that, since its inception in 2015, let a maximum of one year pass until the release of a new album. After three successful predecessors and more than 120 shows worldwide, they used their well-deserved time-out to design new concepts, to work on fresh material.
Bassist Mario proudly announces: "The waiting comes to an end, we are fresh and rested. Above all, we are hungry to return to the stage."
Suite 226 features more driving guitars, catchy hooks and the finest riffing, as you know from As Daylight Breaks. Serious Black takes the listener on a musically journey into psychiatry, between heaven and hell; Suite 226 is the perfect soundtrack for this trip to the place of damnation. Ruthless riffs meets catchy melodies, driven by a manic rhythm section, Urban Breed's top-rated unleashed vocals add the necessary amount of insanity. After listening to this dervish of an album one may ask oneself what is actually fiction, what is reality. And who knows, after that you may also hear these soft voices in your head. Don't say nobody warned you.
GUNS N' ROSES bassist Duff McKagan has released a new video for the song "Cold Outside". The clip addresses the growing homeless crisis facing the U.S. and is being released on "Giving Tuesday". The release coincides with a Propeller campaign that benefits Seattle's Union Gospel Mission.
The video was designed to help raise awareness and support during the holiday season for the Mission and their work to provide emergency care and long-term recovery services to the hurting and homeless people in the greater Seattle area.
"Cold Outside" was featured on McKagan's "Tenderness" solo album, released earlier this year via UMe. The LP was produced by and features recent Grammy winner Shooter Jennings.
"In my early days, I was in similar situations," recalls McKagan, "so I know what it's like to not have anyone to turn to and sometimes need a helping hand to get back on my feet. I know many know others in need and I am hoping that, if we come together, we can help make a real difference."
McKagan has given much of his own time to this campaign and has donated memorabilia as part of the Propeller campaign with all proceeds going to Seattle's Union Gospel Mission.
Through the Propeller platform, fans will be able to earn points as they "take action" by volunteering at the Union Gospel Mission, donating to the Mission, sharing the campaign info on social media to help spread the word, and buying donated memorabilia. Items include a signed Litho, a signed "Tenderness" deluxe LP, as well as a "Tenderness" U.S. tour t-shirt, wristbands and more.
All donations made on Tuesday, December 3 will be matched dollar for dollar (up to $60,000) by an anonymous donor.
