Welsh metallers BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE have released the official music video for their new single, "Letting You Go". The song is taken from the band's sixth studio album, "Gravity", which will be made available on June 29.
BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE frontman Matt Tuck says: "'Letting You Go' was a very challenging song to write in so many ways. It's by far the most experimental track I've ever written musically and lyrically. I really wanted to make a track that stood out from the crowd and separated us from any other band in our genre, and that's exactly what 'Letting You Go' does."
"Gravity" will be issued through BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE's new label home, Search And Destroy, the imprint launched in 2014 by Spinefarm and international artist management company Raw Power Management. The follow-up to 2015's "Venom" marks BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE's full-length recording debut with new drummer Jason Bowld (PITCHSHIFTER, AXEWOUND), who has been touring with the group for the past two years, and bassist Jamie Mathias (formerly of REVOKER), who joined the band after the last disc was completed.
"Over the last 12 months, I've been thinking about the word 'contemporary' a lot," Tuck said. "And I feel this is a contemporary record. It's not an old-school, heart-on-your-sleeve influences thing. We've done that so let's move forward and make the band more interesting. We don't want to alienate anyone… but we don't want to write the same shit anymore. Metalheads will enjoy this. I actually feel the softer electronic parts make the heavy moments even more crushing. It's about engaging the listener and taking them on a journey, messing with their heads a bit…"
The three years since "Venom" haven't been easy for BFMV's commander-in-chief. But instead of falling deeper down a tunnel of self-despair, he channelled his life experiences into art like never before. It would be one of the most introspective and revelatory processes of his life — by his own admission, a personal and creative evolution that simply needed to happen…
"This is me pouring my heart out into song," continued Matt. "It's all about that journey. I picked up my guitar, even though I didn't really want to, and it's like I couldn't stop it, like I couldn't fight it… Something boldly experimental can't be done on a whim, we had to be comfortable and eventually we got there. The album is so up and down, so positive on tracks like 'Not Dead Yet', which is all about seizing the day and catching the moment. Then 'Under Again' is all about the crushing depression I had about a year ago. The whole thing captures the character of… well, me — with some help from [producer] Carl Bown. There's so much weight to this music without being complicated. That's exactly what this album is: very uncomplicated."
BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE recently completed an extensive American tour with AVENGED SEVENFOLD and BREAKING BENJAMIN.
"Hewed With The Brand", the new Brian Cox/Flarelight Films-directed video from noise metal veterans WILL HAVEN, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's sixth full-length album, "Muerte", which was released on March 23 via Minus Head Records.
Guitarist Jeff Irwin comments: "We love this new video. Brian Cox did an amazing job of capturing the band live as well as tying in the new record really well. It was a fun video to shoot. And a little side note — it was filmed on my birthday..."
The origins of WILL HAVEN can be traced back to 1995, when they first emerged as a staple in Sacramento, California's storied underground. For over two decades, they've existed on the fringe of extreme music — championing an apocalyptic amalgam of metal, noise, hardcore, and alternative all their own.
WILL HAVEN breathes entirely new life into its sound with "Muerte" (Spanish for "death"), taking notes from the past but incorporating modern tones to create a chaotic, haunting auditory attack.
"All said and done, we spent two years on this record," said Irwin. "We had more time than ever to fine tune the music. We really benefitted from that. We're also more in tune with who we are. It's the first time I walked away going, 'There's nothing else I could've done to make this better.'"
Throughout 2017, the members of WILL HAVEN secretly recorded "Muerte" at Pus Cavern Studios in Sacramento with Joe Johnston engineering and co-producing alongside Irwin. They pieced together a corrosive, chaotic, and cohesive vision that never relents over its 11 tracks. Mastering was handled by Logan Mader (DEVIL YOU KNOW, FEAR FACTORY, PERIPHERY).
Irwin added about recording "Muerte": "It felt like a rebirth. It sounds like a whole new band. There's a chemistry that only the four of us can achieve. Who knows what's next, but this is everything we were always meant to be on a record."
Asked how Stephen Carpenter of DEFTONES ended up making a guest appearance on the last song of the album, "El Sol", Irwin told Metal Temple: "I have been friends with Stephen for a very long time. He was one of my close friends before WILL HAVEN was even thought of, so before I really played music, I watched Stephen play guitar. He was a huge influence on me, not just musically, but personally. He is just a super-awesome guy and I was always blown away by his talent. He didn't play guitar like other people — no solos, no silly riffs; he was all about the song, making it sound big and giving it emotion. I loved that about his playing. So when I started WILL HAVEN, everything I had learned from Stephen I put into my playing and songwriting. I have always wanted to collaborate with him but just never did it. I have no idea why, so when I started working on this record, I called him up and I was, like, 'Hey, would you like to write a song with me for our new record?' And he said, 'I would love to. I'll send you something in a few days.' and 'm thinking it would take a while to get something because he is a super busy guy. Three days later, he sent me an eight-minute song full of riffs. I was so stoked when I listened to it because he captured that WILL HAVEN vibe but put his spin on it — it was perfect. After I got it, I just went in and kind of chopped it up a bit and added my guitar parts to it. It actually came really easy. I think we have a lot in common songwriting-wise and in some ways, we still influence each other, so we just gelled really easy. I had a blast working on it, and we talked about doing more stuff in the future. I'm excited to see what we can come up with. For me, it was time to do something with him. He and the DEFTONES have been a huge part of my and WILL HAVEN's development, so for me, this had to happen at some point. We have a family vibe between our two bands, and that's how it felt when working on this song."
British heavy metal legends SAXON have released the official music video for the song "The Secret Of Flight". According to Classic Rock magazine, the track, which appears on the band's latest album, "Thunderbolt", retells the story of flight via the medium of heavy metal thunder, taking in all points from Icarus's disastrous approach to the sun, via the Wright Brothers, to the dropping of the bomb.
"2018 is turning out to be another monumental year for SAXON," says frontman Biff Byford. "After storming across the North America with the 'Thunderbolt' tour, we are releasing 'The Secret Of Flight' from the album as the new single and video.
"Being in a touring band, we fly a lot. So I was sat on a plane one day, thinking that — in the big scheme of things — we didn't discover how to fly until quite recently in man's history, in 1903. That's only 115 years ago.
"I thought it would make a good subject, so there you go…. the secret of flight!
"The track has already proven to be a live monster song so as we are half way through the year's tour schedule," adds Biff. "It's apt that we release it now. With that in mind, we would also like to share the following up-to-date stats with you all."

"Thunderbolt" was released on February 2 via Militia Guard (Silver Lining Music). The follow-up to 2015's "Battering Ram" was once again helmed by producer Andy Sneap, who has previously worked with JUDAS PRIEST, MEGADETH, ACCEPT and TESTAMENT, among others. The disc features original artwork by longtime SAXON collaborator Paul Raymond Gregory.
SAXON supported JUDAS PRIEST on the North American leg of the "Firepower" tour, which kicked off on March 13 in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania and wrapped on May 1 in San Antonio, Texas.
Nereis have revealed a new single and video for their song "Overdrive", featured on their upcoming full-length album Turning Point, out June 8th via Eclipse Records. The video (see below) features carefully choreographed fight scenes directed by Maurizio Del Piccolo. Watch below, and stream the single via Spotify or Apple Music.
“Overdrive is a testament to the saying ‘What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger’”, says lead guitarist Sam Fabrello. “The young boxer and his much stronger opponent symbolize the challenges that life puts in front of us. Sometimes they seem impossible to win however we learn how to overcome our limits, opening new possibilities”.
Singer Andrea Baschiesi continues, “I was wandering around the set, speaking with the actors: their make up looked so real that I thought they had actually been involved into a fight for real! The make up artist (Giulia Marighetti) did an excellent job!”
Turning Point features twelve hard-rocking songs that take the listener on an all-out aural adventure, ranging from blistering alternative metal to mellow power-rock, and everything in between. The album was produced by Mauro Andreolli at das Ende der Dinge. The band has also released music videos for their previous two singles, "Breaking Bad", and "Two Wolves" (see below).

GOOD CHARLOTTE has released a music video for "Actual Pain", the first single off the band's highly anticipated seventh full-length studio album, "Generation Rx". Directed by Jake Stark, the introspective clip examines the album's prevailing lyrical themes of trauma, pain, and loneliness.
"Generation Rx" is due for release on September 14 via a newly minted global partnership between the band's MDDN label and BMG. The disc represents both a new chapter and full circle moment for the group — brothers Joel (vocals) and Benji Madden (guitar, vocals), Billy Martin (guitar), Paul Thomas (bass) and Dean Butterworth (drums). Powered by punk spirit, rock songcraft, and cinematic ambition, they retain the signature vitality and vulnerability of their formative years, while delivering an urgent, unafraid, and undeniable message befitting of two decades in the game.
The quintet crafts intricate-yet-infectious anthems of hope for a generation under the shadow of the opioid epidemic, icons gone too soon, mass tragedy, loneliness, and confusion. Produced by Zakk Cervini and Benji during intimate sessions at MDDN headquarters, the record finds GOOD CHARLOTTE doing what they do best — speaking directly to the youth.
GOOD CHARLOTTE will return to the road in Europe for a massive tour kicking off February 1, 2019. Prior to their February tour, GOOD CHARLOTTE will appear at a number of festivals this summer.
GOOD CHARLOTTE has cemented its legacy as one of the most popular and influential rock bands of modern time. With Top 10-charting albums "The Young And The Hopeless", "The Chronicles Of Life And Death" and "Good Morning Revival" and hit singles "The Anthem", "Lifestyles Of The Rich And Famous" and "I Just Wanna Live", the massively popular quintet has sold more than 11 million albums worldwide.
Denver metal/doom conquerors KHEMMIS will release their third album, "Desolation", on June 22 through 20 Buck Spin in North America, with Nuclear Blast Entertainment handling international territories.
A visualizer video for the album's triumphant opening track, "Bloodletting", can be seen below.
While KHEMMIS is undeniably influenced by doom and classic metal, to tag them with those labels doesn't do justice to what's accomplished on "Desolation"; a perfect representation of modern heavy metal in 2018 that integrates the past in a way only possible in the present. "Desolation" is not just the best KHEMMIS record to date but a testament to the quality that heavy metal is still capable of.
From the stadium-sized opening notes of "Bloodletting", it is immediately evident that KHEMMIS is again putting distance between themselves and their earlier influences to inform a sound that is singularly their own. "Isolation" — which the band recently aired live on the Decibel tour — is the album's lead single and most immediate track, with the classic metal melodies the band have become revered for shining throughout. On epic closer "From Ruin" and throughout the entirety of the album, the lead vocals and melodies of Phil Pendergast are the clearest, most powerful and best arranged that the band has achieved. Working for the third time with Dave Otero at Flatline Audio in Denver, the band and producer now have the familiarity and mutual experience to arrive at the perfect symbiosis of songwriting, arrangement and production value.
KHEMMIS states about the new single: "'Bloodletting' displays a number of new directions we take throughout this album. A big, harmonized overture gives way to soaring vocals and classic metal grooves before dragging you into uncharted, crushing darkness."
"Desolation" is completed with cover artwork by Sam Turner (BLACK BREATH, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD, IN THE COMPANY OF SERPENTS). The album will be released on CD, digital and LP — with a foil-stamped jacket and eight-inch lyric booklet.
Swedish progressive metal band SEVENTH WONDER, which features in its ranks current KAMELOT singer Tommy Karevik, will release its fifth studio album, "Tiara", on October 12 via Frontiers Music Srl. It contains SEVENTH WONDER's first batch of new material since "The Great Escape", originally issued in 2010. Having previously released the live album and longform video "Welcome To Atlanta" (recorded at the ProgPower festival in 2014), the group is now ready to "unleash the beast."
The official music video for "Tiara's Song", taken from "Tiara", can be seen below.
Says bassist Andreas Blomqvist: "The band is stoked to release the first video off of our upcoming album 'Tiara', and the song is appropriately called 'Tiara's Song'.
"The album is a concept album and a crucial moment in the story is described in three songs, entitled 'Farewell Parts 1, 2 And 3', and 'Tiara's Song' is part 1 of that trilogy. This is classic SEVENTH WONDER, so I believe that any longtime fans of the band will be happy with what they hear.
"We are very happy with how the video came out as it captures both the band vibe as well as the other emotions that are present in the song. which deals with profound and ubiquitous emotions concerning life, love and loss."
Originally formed in Stockholm in 2000, SEVENTH WONDER debuted in 2005 with "Become". The second album, "Waiting In The Wings", and first to feature Karevik on vocals, followed in 2006. Two more successful records, the concept album "Mercy Falls" (2008) and "The Great Escape" (2010), followed before the band went on a hiatus of sorts following Karevik being chosen to take Roy Khan's place in KAMELOT.
"Tiara" track listing:

02. The Everones
03. Dream Machines
04. Against The Grain

08. Beyond Today (Farewell Pt. 3)

Says Blomqvist: "It has been many years in the making, but it is finally done and we couldn't be happier with it. 'Tiara' is everything you have come to expect from SEVENTH WONDER, but I also hope there are some new flavors in there to keep it interesting. We really didn't think too much about what sound we were going for, nor did we have to force it, it all came natural, albeit slow this time around…We are super proud of this album and we are so much looking forward to sharing it with you!"
Continues Andreas: "'Victorious' was the first song on the album that was completed. It wasn't written first, but it was the first one we sat down and wrote the lyrics for, so it is special to us."
"Long May They Haunt Us", the new video from Lizzy Borden, can be seen below. The song is taken from the theatrical rock frontman's first album in 11 years, "My Midnight Things", which will be released on June 15 via Metal Blade Records.
With the hard-and-heavy tracks of the album opening title cut "Obsessed With You" and "The Scar Across My Heart", the extended layoff between albums has not dulled his desire to rock and shock. "Although we have stayed busy touring all over the world, I missed being a recording artist. I look at the new album as a new beginning, I pushed the restart button on my career," Borden comments.
Having signed a new contract with Metal Blade on the strength of three demo tracks, Borden opted to produce "My Midnight Things" himself, with Joey Scott as co-producer. (Joey also handled all the drumming duties.) "I knew what I was going for and had doubts that I could find a producer who would understand that," Borden explains. "My approach is very different than what is happening in today's current sound."
"My Midnight Things" was mixed by Greg Fidelman (METALLICA, BLACK SABBATH, ADELE, U2) and mastered by Tom Baker (DAVID BOWIE, ROB ZOMBIE, MARILYN MANSON, TOM PETTY).
Borden is planning on hitting the road shortly. "I've already started working on the 'My Midnight Things' show, and I really can't wait to play these songs live," he says. "There are so many talented players out there in the world, I know I will find the right musicians to be on stage with me in my touring band in the new show. And just based on what is being talked about so far, it will be the best show I've ever done. I really do feel a new excitement that I have not felt in years. The best is yet to come."

"Amongst Stars", the new video from Finnish melancholic progressive metallers AMORPHIS, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's latest album, "Queen Of Time", which is being released today (Friday, May 18) via Nuclear Blast. The follow-up to 2015's "Under The Red Cloud" includes the use of real strings, flutes, orchestral arrangements and even choirs. In addition, this is the first time that people are able to hear their lyricist Pekka Kainulainen on the album as he contributes a speech in Finnish.
"Queen Of Time" was once again produced by Jens Bogren (OPETH, AMON AMARTH, KREATOR), who is well known for challenging and motivating artists during the recording process. He isn't afraid to push them to their limits.
The "Queen Of Time" cover artwork, which was created once again by French artist Jean "Valnoir" Simoulin from Metastazis, captures the feeling of the lyrics and the music. With Pekka Kainulainen's (lyricist) words, the lyrical theme is universal: "Cultures rise, flourish, and are destroyed. The story of man is the story of searching, finding, and forgetting. A single spark can set the world afire, a single idea can give birth to a new culture. The greatest can stagnate into insignificance, the smallest can hold the power for change. The lyrics on this album are distant echoes of ancient forest peoples, from a time when meaning was proportioned by the cosmic forces that govern birth and death. If the connection was lost, they sought for a strand of knowledge, found a new direction, and a new age began."
"Queen Of Time" is also the first AMORPHIS album to feature the band's old/new bass player Olli-Pekka "Oppu" Laine following the departure of Niclas Etelävuori in 2017. Oppu was one of the founding members of AMORPHIS in 1990 and recorded the first seven records with the band before he exited the group in spring 2000.
"To be honest, 'Oppu' was the only guy we could imagine being in AMORPHIS," says Esa. "It was funny — when we started to play our first shows together again last summer, it all felt so familiar. He was involved with arranging songs and he also even brought some new songs to the table… really good ones, too!" Oppu adds: "Even though the last year with AMORPHIS has been exciting, nostalgic and fun, it's also been truly comfortable to be with the guys again. As a clichéd expression, it's been like returning home from a lengthy odyssey. After 18 years, it feels like we are picking up where we left off from the good ol' days! I'm really looking forward for the upcoming tour. The new album itself is a really strong package, the only hard thing will be picking which songs to play live! It's safe to say we are set to pull off some killer shows over the next few years. After that, I'm predicting a long and fruitful career for the band in its current form..."
"Queen Of Time" track listing:
01. The Bee
02. Message In The Amber
03. Daughter Of Hate
04. The Golden Elk
05. Wrong Direction
06. Heart Of The Giant
07. We Accursed
08. Grain Of Sand
09. Amongst Stars
10. Pyres On The Coast
Bonus tracks (digi, 2LP, and mail-order edition only)
11. As Mountains Crumble
12. Brother And Sister
Holopainen comments: "I guess 'Queen Of Time' turned out as a massive surprise to all of us. During the rehearsing and pre-production, we didn't have any idea that Jens had this huge picture inside of his head about the landscape of the album. It's a very natural continuation to 'Under The Red Cloud' but with steroids. The songs are more aggressive but there's more dynamics, harmonies and orchestral arrangements present. The result is AMORPHIS as something you've never heard before! Essentially, working with Jens worked really well. As a person, he is very similar to us — we share the same kind of weird humor and we all like to work hard."
SINSAENUM, the extreme death metal project featuring DRAGONFORCE bassist Frédéric Leclercq and former SLIPKNOT drummer Joey Jordison, has released the official video for a new song called "Final Resolve". The track, a brutal punch in the face, is the first to be released from the band's forthcoming album, "Repulsion For Humanity", out August 10 via earMUSIC.
With its earworm riff, its powerful larger-than-life chorus, its technical and melodic solo section, "Final Resolve" shows yet another side of SINSAENUM. The presence of Les Tambours du Bronx, the renowned French industrial percussion band, certainly adds to the song's martial groove — making it an instant metal anthem for crowds to bang their heads to.
Founding member and mastermind Frédéric Leclercq said: "It is still death metal, it's undeniable. But we found it interesting to mix it with other elements that we all like. This is only one aspect of the album and what SINSAENUM is about — 'Final Resolve' is just an obvious first single due to its catchiness. Because yes, it is possible to play death metal and be catchy. [Laughs]."
Fans will notice that Attila Csihar (MAYHEM) is absent from the video. Due to scheduling conflicts, the distinctive black metal vocalist could not partake in the album recording process as much as he wanted to. "Attila is still a member of SINSAENUM," explains Leclercq. "He contributed to some backing vocals and lyrics but basically had to step out of this album/tour cycle. Nevertheless, he is still one of us. We have his full 'blessings' on the new recordings — we were in constant communication during the recording of 'Repulsion'... and Sean did an amazing job on vocals."
"Ave Sin-Bloods!," said Attila himself. "Because of my duties with my other bands, I could not take part as much as I wanted in the latest SINSAENUM recordings. But that does not mean that I stopped playing with the band — it is just temporary. Check out our new album because it will shave your goosebumps, it's a frightmare!! We will never stop to open the depths of hell in your souls. Stay tuned and raise your demons!"
With the help of Francis Caste on mixing duties, SINSAENUM sharpened their own sonic identity, far from the typical death or modern metal sound.
The cover artwork, created by none other than Travis Smith, matches the radical, violent and angry approach of the album.
This autumn, SINSAENUM will be touring Europe for the first time since its formation. U.S. tour plans remain to be determined.
Last November, SINSAENUM released the EP "Ashes", with Metal Hammer Germany declaring it to be a "rad sign of life" and Metal Hammer U.K. taking it one step further, saying, "Take that form into the studio for the second full-length and we could have a classic on our hands."
"Echoes Of The Tortured", SINSAENUM's first album, was nominated as "Best Debut" by Metal Hammer Germany and was praised worldwide as one of the freshest and finest approaches to death metal.
With these impressive credentials, it is hard not to label SINSAENUM a supergroup, since it embodies the joint venture of Leclercq and Jordison. The rest of the band is of no less importance and credibility — Sean Zatorsky (DÅÅTH, vocals), Stephane Buriez (LOUDBLAST, guitar), Heimoth (SETH, bass) and Csihar (MAYHEM, vocals) – all of which are well respected in their fields – complete the ensemble, making SINSAENUM the epitome of premium-level heavy metal.
FLAT EARTH, the new band featuring former HIM members Mikko "Linde" Lindström (guitar) and Mika "Gas Lipstick" Karppinen (drums) alongside ex-AMORPHIS bassist Niclas Etelävuori and POLANSKI singer Anttoni "Anthony" Pikkarainen, has released the official video for its first single, "Blame". The song is taken from FLAT EARTH's debut album, which was recorded at Finnvox in Helsinki with producer Hiili Hiilesmaa, who has previously worked with HIM, AMORPHIS, THE 69 EYES and APOCALYPTICA, among others.
The "Blame" video was mainly shot during the recordings of the disc in February and March by Tommi Mattila, who followed the band to capture some documentary material.
FLAT EARTH was formed after Etelavuori fell out with the manager of AMORPHIS and exited the latter band. Suddenly, Niclas was left stranded. He decided to show the world that he still had a lot to give, so he started looking for possible bandmates.
Niclas explains: "After over two decades playing with bands, I was at a point thinking that maybe I start doing something else. But then I knew I had these songs on my hard drive still, and nothing was done with them. And I just wanted to get rid of them and see what happens. But then it kind of took over and I started to focus more on that."
Linde first sprang to mind, even though he still had his hands full with HIM at that time. Nevertheless, the two of them kept meeting regularly, and started working on ideas for new songs. Getting Anthony on board provided additional inspiration. And when their old bandmate Karppinen finally joined on drums, the group's lineup was completed.
While Linde was busy playing the States and Europe on HIM's farewell tour, the remaining trio spent their time recording drums to seven pilot demos that had previously been taped in Niclas's basement studio. Gas brought along two of his own songs, and Anthony composed a new track for the band. Linde found an old song of his he had first fleshed out when he was only 13. The rest of the tracks were Niclas's ideas mainly, treated to the band's arrangements, with Anthony providing both the vocal melodies, as well as the lyrics. The basic structure for the first album was ready.
Linde remembers: "Our common friend, who's been helping us get this band off the ground, recommended a guy named Anttoni 'Anthony' Pikkarainen, who had been singing in a band named POLANSKI. The band had made a record, and after we'd listened to it, we had to set up a meeting immediately.
"I have a great feeling about our new band. Anthony had recorded with Hiili Hiilesmaa before, and the rest of us have known each other for years. It feels as if all the stars have finally aligned."
POWERFLO — the band featuring BIOHAZARD's Billy Graziadei and former FEAR FACTORY bassist/guitarist Christian Olde Wolbers alongside Sen Dog from CYPRESS HILL, Rogelio Lozano from DOWNSET, and Brazilian drummer Fernando Schaefer — has released an animated video for its latest single, "The Grind". The song is taken from POWERFLO's self-titled debut album, which came out last June via New Damage Records. The disc was produced by Josh Lynch and Billy Graziadei, mixed by Jay Baumgardner (GODSMACK, PAPA ROACH, HELMET) and mastered by Maor Applebaum (FAITH NO MORE, HALFORD, ADRENALINE MOB) at Maor Applebaum Mastering.
POWERFLO will release a new EP, "Bring That Shit Back", on June 1 via New Damage Records.
Speaking about the upcoming EP and the band's impending European tour, Graziadei says: "We've been in the studio working on some new music for our next release! We're about to drop a new EP, and we're gonna hit Europe for the first time in June. We been stayin' on that grind."
Melding hip-hop, metal, punk, and rock into a potent offering, POWERFLO draws on its powerhouse resume to collectively smash boundaries.
The origins of POWERFLO can be traced back over more than two decades as the members of the band would collaborate on numerous occasions. In addition to both CYPRESS HILL and BIOHAZARD appearing on the landmark platinum-selling "Judgment Night" soundtrack, Sen Dog delivered a cameo on BIOHAZARD's "State Of The World Address" in 1993, while Christian both guested on CYPRESS HILL's chart-topping 2000 double-album "Skulls & Bones", which Roy also guested on, and 2001's "Stone Raiders" in addition to performing with the group countless times. In 2015, longtime friend Roy played demos for Sen on a ride to the airport. The music immediately spoke to the rapper and thus POWERFLO was born.
Pennsylvania metal band TALLAH — which features in its ranks Max Portnoy, son of Mike Portnoy (DREAM THEATER, AVENGED SEVENFOLD, THE WINERY DOGS, SONS OF APOLLO) — has released a video for the song "Placenta". The track is expected to appear on the group's upcoming five-song EP.
Max stated about video: "It's like 2001, but with all the new age twist you could want and none of the rehashed bullshit."
TALLAH is comprised of Justin Bonitz on vocals, Andrew Cooper on bass, Derrick Schneider on guitar, AJ Wisniewski on guitar and Max Portnoy on drums. They have a shared passion for playing intense, angry, loud, heavy, and intricately weird music. The band relies on the spirit of innovative metal realized through panicked guitar screams treated with industrial elements and distortion. Screaming vocals mixed with melodic choruses and driving bass guitar with deep and dirty tones sync up effortlessly with the thunderous bellows of the drums and screeching ping of the snare.
TALLAH made its live debut in Brooklyn, New York and recently played two shows on the Schecter stage at NAMM 2018.
California metal veterans Impending Doom have released a video for the new track "Everything's Fake". The video was directed by J.D. Butler from Adapt Cinema. Watch the video below.
Impending Doom's David Sittig says, "This is the best Impending Doom video to date. The director understood our sound and takes the viewer visually into the darkness we’ve created.“

"The Wretched And Godless":
Impending Doom arise once again from where they began, their own alpha and omega as a band, crafting the sixth album as punishing, focused, bottom-heavy, and musically blood-soaked as the earliest efforts that first won them notice before any notions of commerce beckoned them toward the more commonplace career path of the metal music industry.
They’ve worked with top-tier genre producers in the past, including Zeuss (Rob Zombie, Hatebreed, Queensrÿche) and Will Putney (Every Time I Die, The Amity Affliction, Thy Art Is Murder), but for album number six, they’ve returned to the grassroots and hands-on way they engineered and produced their earliest recordings, cloaking it in grimy sonic mysteries anew. Christopher Eck, who produced their first album, oversaw the proceedings once again.
This is musical blunt force trauma, from a personal place of desperate salvation and resolve. No competition, no compromise, no careerism. Impending Doom are renewed, purer than ever, united in their collective vision to create the heaviest metal missives imaginable.

SEVENDUST's Caleb Mallery-directed video for the song "Medicated" can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's 12th studio album, "All I See Is War", which is being released today (Friday, May 11). The follow-up to 2015's "Kill The Flaw" was recorded at Studio Barbarosa in Gotha, Florida with producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette, who has previously worked with ALTER BRIDGE and SLASH, among others.
SEVENDUST's new disc is the group's first for Rise Records, the Oregon-based metal and hard rock label which was purchased by BMG in 2015.
In a recent interview with "Good Company", SEVENDUST singer Lajon Witherspoon stated about the band's new effort: "We've done so much [more] in 33 days recording this than I've ever done in my life. I sang 14 days in nine days to make up for some time that was lost. But it was because I felt good too, so some days I did two songs a day. And it was an experience working with Elvis and [engineer] Jeff [Moll]. Not to take anything [away] from any other producer, but, for me, it was the best [recording] experience in my life. Maybe it [was] due to me being older and more seasoned with what's going on, but the way that he worked and the things that he knows about music was completely different — I'd never seen anyone [like that] before."
According to Lajon, Baskette had the music for 60 new SEVENDUST songs to choose from prior to the making of the new album. "For me, I felt stronger as a singer — he made me a better singer, working with him," Witherspoon said. He went on to describe his working relationship with Elvis as "a partnership. I hated leaving the house, and I can't wait to do another album with him, and I would like to do it even longer than 33 days," he said.
Last month, SEVENDUST kicked off a headline tour in support of "All I See Is War". The trek will make stops in Austin, Texas; Nashville, Tennessee; Clifton Park, New York and Cincinnati, Ohio, among others, before wrapping up at Rockfest in Kansas City, Kansas. MEMPHIS MAY FIRE, FIRE FROM THE GODS and MADAME MAYHEM are joining SEVENDUST on the run.
In 2016, SEVENDUST received its first-ever Grammy nomination after two decades together as a band. "Thank You", the debut single from "Kill The Flaw", got the nod for "Best Metal Performance".

St. Louis metal act Black Fast has released a brand new music video for their track “Cloak Of Lies”. This is the first bit of music we’re hearing from the band since the releasing Terms Of Surrender in 2015 and the first music video from their upcoming new LP.
“Cloak of Lies” is also available as an iTunes instant grat track, meaning fans who pre-order the LP on iTunes will get the song as an immediate download. “Cloak Of Lies” is also available on all streaming services. Pre-order links and the new video can be found below.
Black Fast will release Spectre Of Ruin on Friday, July 13th via Entertainment One. Album opener “Cloak Of Lies” sets the stage for Spectre Of Ruin with a heaping helping of everything Black Fast represents, a locomotive of riffs barreling down the tracks with determined speed and aggression.
Like its predecessor, Black Fast’s Spectre Of Ruin was summoned into sharp focus at Mana Studios in St. Petersburg, Florida, with Erik Rutan, the Hate Eternal frontman and ex-Morbid Angel guitarist who has produced albums by genre titans like Cannibal Corpse, Goatwhore, and Six Feet Under. It’s all killer, no filler, demonstrating the destructive force of focused neo-thrash and progressive death-infused heavy metal at its finest.
Black Fast follow the roadmap laid down by the great bands with “Angel” and “Death” in their names, swearing off the trappings of the mainstream with a steadfast dedication to their chosen craft. As vocalist/guitarist, Aaron Akin once summarized, “We’ve pushed our chips all-in since the beginning. We threw caution to the wind. We’re playing metal. We don’t really give a shit about ‘making it.’”
This music is a vibrant soundtrack to society’s collapse and a celebration of defiant resolution. The Black Fast mission is ruthlessly simple: champion musical aggression, bark at the moon, raise a fist and headbang like there’s no tomorrow.
Pre-order digital copies of the album here, or physical copies here.

"Silhouette Usurper"
"Scarecrow And Spectre"

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH has released the official music video for the new song "Sham Pain", off the band's upcoming seventh studio album, "And Justice For None". According to guitarist Zoltan Bathory, the track is "a lyrical snapshot of probably the most chaotic, yet the biggest year of our career. So far, we've come out of every bear attack relatively un-scraped, and the band is tighter than ever. Life is not so difficult if you don't take yourself sooo seriously. As long as you can find the humor in everything, you are winning and the winning is strong with this video, as it follows the footsteps of our NOscar-winning masterpiece 'Jekyll And Hyde'. It was a simple process: We lit the set on fire and then made our poor director Rob Anderson's artistic sense into a piñata. Whatever he could salvage became the music video."
"Sham Pain" sees FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH frontman Ivan Moody spitting out such lines as "my label tried to sue me, TMZ tried to screw me, Blabbermouth can fucking suck it, 'cause they never fucking knew me," a reference to a particularly event-filled 2016 during which the band was sued by its record label, Prospect Park, and a woman claiming to be Moody's wife accused the singer of infidelity and being violent during their relationship.
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's follow-up to 2015's "Got Your Six" was originally delivered to Prospect Park in December 2016, but a legal battle with the company delayed the LP's arrival.
Last fall, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH settled its lawsuit with Prospect Park and released a greatest-hits collection with two new songs.
Due on May 18, "And Justice For None" is available for pre-order in the following formats: standard physical CD (13 tracks), deluxe physical CD (13 tracks + 3 bonus tracks + deluxe artwork), vinyl (13 tracks + 3 bonus tracks + deluxe gatefold artwork). The band is also offering fans a variety of new CD/merchandise bundles.
Bathory told Detroit radio station WRIF that the title of FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's new album was inspired by the group's legal battle with Prospect Park. Bathory explained: "There was this back-and-forth forever, and finally when we settled, I think Ivan was the one who said, 'Well, I guess that's justice for none.' And we were, like, 'Let's call the album 'And Justice For None'.'"
Bathory acknowledged that the band picked that title even though METALLICA released an LP called "…And Justice For All". He added, "We all know there's [the] METALLICA album... And [those] lyrics, actually, METALLICA's '…And Justice For All', make a lot of sense to me. The same crap 30 years later, right?"
Asked if the band changed any of the LP during the past year, Bathory replied, "We ended up recording a couple of more songs that was part of the agreement with the label; we recorded three more songs for the album that was part the settlement."
Bathory said about the "And Justice For None" music: "We have a sound, and we're not gonna really go far away from that. We sometimes experiment, but we have a sound. And for us, it's always about writing the song — the song is what matters the most to us."
In May 2016, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH announced it had signed a new North American recording deal with the BMG-owned rock label Rise Records.
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH will hit a handful of festivals and play around a dozen dates with SHINEDOWN this spring. The band will then kick off a co-headlining run with BREAKING BENJAMIN on July 16 in Seattle.
"The Fox", the new video from Swedish classic rock connoisseurs GRAVEYARD, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's eagerly anticipated comeback album, "Peace", which will be released on May 25 via Nuclear Blast. The disc was recorded at Park Studios in Stockholm with producer Chips Kiesbye (THE HELLACOPTERS, MICHAEL MONROE, THE NOMADS) and engineer Stefan Boman (BURT BACHARACH, ALICE COOPER, DEF LEPPARD, KENT).
"Peace" is now available for pre-order in various formats. The Nuclear Blast mailorder edition will feature the CD as well as a red seven-inch vinyl containing two exclusive and previously unreleased non-album tracks ("Headache City" and "Something Else"). The album will also be available as digipack CD as well as on black, yellow, mint, beige and clear vinyl.
The disc will contain the following tracks:
01. It Ain't Over Yet
02. Cold Love
03. See The Day
04. Please Don't
05. Del Maniac
06. The Fox
07. Walk On
08. Bird Of Paradise
09. A Sign Of Peace
10. Low (I Wouldn't Mind)
GRAVEYARD announced its return in January 2017, only four months after saying that the band was calling it quits. The group's new lineup does not include drummer Axel Sjöberg, who is apparently focusing on his new outfit called BIG KIZZ. He has since been replaced by Oskar Bergenheim.
GRAVEYARD released four full-length albums, the latest one being 2015's "Innocence & Decadence".
GRAVEYARD's breakup in September 2016 was attributed to "the all-so-classic reason 'differences within the band.'" The group explained at the time: "This is the unfortunate final decision we've had to make after going through a period of struggling and juggling with personal issues. Things have gone out of hand and now our energy is very low."

Commented BLEEDING THROUGH vocalist Brandan Schieppati: "After five years away, we realized the heartbeat of BLEEDING THROUGH is still beating.
"We feel one of the best things that we could have done was to step away and concentrate on other aspects of our lives and let the dust settle on BLEEDING THROUGH, as people knew us.
"Our motivation to write the record was purely because of our passion for our music — the creative blood that runs through our veins, which hasn‘t changed since 1999.
"I feel that our creativity and passion is being put on display in this new record, 'Love Will Kill All'. We feel music is the ultimate expression and whether people want it or not we felt the need to express ourselves again. The beauty is that no one can stop it from happening.
"For so many years, I felt that BLEEDING THROUGH was a band that was held back because of other people interests in the band, whether it was business or personal. I just felt trapped by the business of the industry and outside perception.
"BLEEDING THROUGH is all about the music and the people who enjoy it. That was lost for a while and now it's found. "
With nearing an hour's worth of new music on "Love Will Kill All", the band emerges from its slumber with renewed energy, aggression and musical precision. Effortlessly blending scathing, skin-peeling metallic elements with hard-hitting hardcore and jaw-dropping symphonic elements with a brash take-no-prisoners attitude, BLEEDING THROUGH inflicts pain and awe in equal amounts with every razor-sharp cut their forthcoming effort has to offer. Coupled with a new label, BLEEDING THROUGH has been granted a new lease on life — and the ears of the heavy-music loving masses — as "Love Will Kill All" is a collection of coming-home anthems from heavy music's prodigal sons returned to retake their throne.
BLEEDING THROUGH's last album, "The Great Fire", was released in January 2012 via Rise Records.
