Despite the evil feel that pervades the whole album, Doedsvangr's vastly experienced Norwegian and Finnish members have not fallen into the trap of producing a formulaic black metal album, but have been able to create eleven tracks that offer extreme variations, and, it has to be said, "a lot of groove".
Commenting on the formation of Doedsvangr the band's prolific frontman "Doedsadmiral" recently had this to say: "All my other bands each have a different sound and musical ethos one from the other, and Doedsvangr is one that comes from a much darker direction. Doedsvangr, like the other projects in which I'm involved, does not come from me alone, but is the result of two great musicians coming onboard so that together we can create music the way we all want it to sound, and perform it in a way that we all want to hear it. Will Doedsvangr perform live one day? That remains to be seen, let's just see where the album takes us first".
Satan Ov Suns is now available to pre-order in CD and vinyl formats here, and in digital format here.
To celebrate Valentine's Day, Necromancing The Stone - featuring current/former members of Arsis (James Malone, guitars), The Absence (Jeramie Kling, drums), The Black Dahlia Murder (Ryan "Bart" Williams, bass) and Brimstone Coven (guitarist Justin Wood and vocalist "Big" John Williams) - has launched a new video for the track "Bleed For The Night", taken from their latest album, Jewel Of The Vile.
Filmed last year on tour with Battlecross and Allegaeon, "Bleed For The Night" will surely serenade fans with its epic vocals, gigantic riffs and pulverizing rhythms. The video, shot and edited by Allegaeon's Greg Burgess, can be seen below.
Necromancing The Stone comments: "Everyone, on this Valentine's Day, please remember that if you love something too much it may die. Then one day you can learn a powerful resurrection spell and bring it back to life, but it might hate you... But that's a different story altogether. We hope you enjoy the video. Huge thanks to Greg from Allegaeon for putting this video together for us."
Next week, Necromancing The Stone will join label-mates Whitechapel, Cattle Decapitation, Goatwhore, and Allegaeon for a special US tour that celebrates Metal Blade Records' 35th anniversary.

Italian group, Sons Of Revolution, drag their audience kicking and screaming through classic rock tunes that echo the 60s & 70s. Like a cross between Rival Sons and Led Zeppelin, they are a touch that never stings with tunes that caresses and cajoles. With their feet planted firmly in the blues rock category but their heads heading into the future, their sound is at the center of an perfect triangle with the points being such luminaries as the Rolling Stones, Black Keys and Jane’s Addiction.
Sons Of Revolution’s first album, simply called Sons of Revolution, reflects all the band’s influences including Jack White, Gary Clark jr, Led Zeppelin, Soundgarden, Black Sabbath, Rival Sons and Rage Against The Machine. It’s a genuine piece of rock, played and recorded live with very few overdubs.
The album was recorded in central Italy at NoiseLab Studio by Sergio Pomante who has a true underground rock’n’roll attitude which allowed the band to play without inhibitions. They spent a couple of months with producer Umberto Palazzo (Massimo Volume/Santo Niente) in preproduction, at the same time playing and honing the album in their live concerts. The final mastering was made by Domenico Pulsinelli at New Bess Studio.
Sons Of Revolution is available now via Sliptrick Records.

Kuopio, Finland-based band, Shade Empire, have released a video for “Anti-Life Saviour”, the first track to be heard from the band’s soon to be released fifth studio album.
Since forming in 1999, Shade Empire are revered for their unspeakably brutal guitar patterns and ingenious arrangements, creating a sound unique and closely related to symphonic black metal. Further album details will be revealed in due course.
Junius have released a video for “Clean The Beast” (see below), a track from their new full-length album, Eternal Rituals For The Accretion Of Light (ERAL), due out March 3rd via Prosthetic Records.
The album marks the completion of their conceptual trilogy which began in 2009 with their evoking LP The Martyrdom Of A Catastrophist, followed by 2011's Reports From The Thresholds Of Death. Next in line was Junius' latest release, the 2014 EP Days Of the Fallen Sun.
Recorded, mixed and mastered with longtime friend and producer Will Benoit (Caspian, Rosetta, Ellie Goulding), Eternal Rituals For The Accretion Of Light takes inspiration from Elisabeth Haich's autobiography Initiation, whilst touching on topics including karma, reincarnation and spiritual development across it's ten melodically divine tracks. Following the departure of former member Mike Repasch-Nieves (guitars), the album was entirely wrote and performed by vocalist / guitarist Joseph E. Martinez, excluding drums / percussion which were completed by Dana Filloon. The album also features guest appearances from Drew Speziale (Circle Takes The Square) and Gian Minardi (General Public).

Italy’s Lionville will release their third album, A World Of Fools, on February 24th. A video for the album track “Bring Me Back Our Love” is available for streaming below.
Born as a project dedicated to pure AOR with a touch of Westcoast and melodic rock, Lionville draw musical inspiration from acts like Toto, Richard Marx, Giant, Bad English, Survivor Band, and Boulevard. The band was started by Stefano Lionetti, a songwriter, singer, and guitarist based in Genova, Italy and his brother Alessandro. After years of playing the local club circuit of Genova, Stefano formed Lionville with the encouragement and help of Pierpaolo “Zorro” Monti (Shining Line) and Alessandro Del Vecchio (Hardline, Revolution Saints, Ted Poley, etc.). With the involvement of singer Lars Säfsund (Work of Art), Lionville quickly took shape and became something very near and dear to everyone involved.
With two critically acclaimed releases - which came out in 2011 and 2012 - Lionville managed to find their place in the European melodic rock scene while also appearing at Firefest in Nottingham in 2012. With their combination of rockin’ AOR tunes and classic Westcoast AOR sounds, Lionville piqued the interest of Frontiers, who signed the band in early 2016.
“It’s a very important record for Lionville, since we are coming back after four years of silence,” says Stefano Lionetti. “I really wanted to make happy all the fans who waited so long for it. As a producer and songwriter I have done my best to create a high class record, but with the right variety. You will find classic melodic rock songs, a couple of ballads, songs in the style of the previous record and of course a lot of attention on the arrangements. I also wanted to have more of a band feel with this record and I am very proud of the final result.”
“These songs have been fun to sing and they’re really good,” adds Lars Safsund.
Recorded by a gifted cast of experienced studio cats and upcoming talents and produced by Stefano Lionetti, the new album, A World Of Fools finds a winning combination of very strong songwriting (courtesy also of Robert Sall, Alessandro Del Vecchio, Bruce Gaitsch, Soren Kronkvist, Gianluca Firmo, Thomas Vikstrom, and Ida West) and stellar musical performances, crowned by impressive lead vocals and an album mix that gives space to all the significant little details.
The Lionville team has high hopes that people will embrace their vision of a reinvigorated musical genre and everyone is looking forward to continuing the Lionville story with another awesome contribution to melodic rock music.

Supergroup CHICKENFOOT will release "Divine Termination", its first new tune in five years on "Best + Live", the band's first-ever best-of collection, on March 10. CHICKENFOOT features legendary guitarist Joe Satriani, former VAN HALEN singer Sammy Hagar, ex-VAN HALEN bassist Michael Anthony and RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS drummer Chad Smith.
You can now watche the official music video for "Divine Termination" below.
In addition to "Divine Termination", "Best + Live" includes over 90 minutes of live music "Best + Live" for the first time released on CD. Hagar says: "Listening to this collection of songs from the 'FOOT brings back memories of some of the most fun I've ever had in a band. The chemistry between Chad, Joe, Mike and me is very special. It's almost like visual music — you can see us having fun when you listen to these songs."
In May 2016, CHICKENFOOT reunited for two highly-anticipated one-time shows at Harrah's Lake Tahoe, and played their first complete set in more than six years, along with a special unveiling of the new tune "Divine Termination". Satriani describes the track as "bone-crunching, hell-raising rock, dripping with attitude and vibe. Just the way CHICKENFOOT likes it!" Both the extra CD "Live" and the bonus tracks on the best of feature a 13-song strong setlist, including almost every song from CHICKENFOOT's debut album as well as Hagar's old MONTROSE classic "Bad Motor Scooter", THE WHO's "My Generation" and Satriani's interpretation of "The Star-Spangled Banner" — all recorded live in Phoenix 2009 and available for the first time on CD (previously only available as video on the DVD/Blu-ray "Get Your Buzz On"). "Best + Live" track listing:

CHICKENFOOT has not made a new CD in five years but returned to the studio to record "Divine Termination".
"I wrote the lyrics while on an airplane to Cabo," Hagar told Rolling Stone about the song. "It's a dark tune, but it's fucking cool. It's a really raw production and a giant step for the 'FOOT."
Satriani told The Oakland Press that he is not holding his breath for a new album from CHICKENFOOT. "It'll always be upsetting to me, the fact [the band] is under-realized," Satriani said. "That befuddles me still. However, the other guys do have plenty of things to do, and I suppose maybe I get it. But when I think about it from an artistic point of view, it just seems ridiculous that we didn't do more. It just seems completely wrong."
CHICKENFOOT reissued its gold-selling 2009 self-titled debut as a double-disc set. The new version features bonus live tracks recorded on the group's tour behind its sophomore studio effort, "III".
CHICKENFOOT's most recent touring lineup included legendary drummer/musician Kenny Aronoff, who was filling in for Smith while Chad was on the road with RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS.
"III" sold 42,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 9 on The Billboard 200 chart. The band's self-titled debut opened with 49,000 units back in June 2009 to debut at No. 6.
Ghost Iris have released a video for "Save Yourself”, a track from their upcoming album, Blind World, out on February 17th via Long Branch Records. The new video is available for streaming below.
Vocalist Jesper Vicencio Gün states: “‘Save Yourself’ is the next level of Ghost Iris. We wanted to create almost a pop song but with metal instrumentals, which I think we achieved. The video is our bid for a "Euphoric State" pt. 2. We upgraded from the bicycle to a limo. We're funny like that."
Blind World contains 10 brand new tracks from Denmark’s most streamed metal act in 2016, including the singles "Pinnacle" and "Save Yourself". Pre-order the album at this location.
Tracklisting:
“Gods Of Neglect”

Following the release of their acclaimed debut album 1917 and last year's successful Pledge Music campaign, doom pop act Courtesans will release their new 5-song EP, Better Safe Than Sober, on March 31st. Check out the official video for the new song "Mesmerise" below.
Hailing from London, England, Courtesans are reminiscent of Aegis-era Theatre Of Tragedy according to BraveWords scribe Carl Begai.
Tracklist:
"Mesmerise"
"Feel The Same"
"John Doe"
"Knowhere"
"The Tide"
The band has issued the following statement: "We want more women to pick up instruments. Be musicians, tour managers, sound engineers... Don’t leave it up to the boys, but do not dumb down your femininity to be respected, be yourself and be free! We want to not only encourage women in music but for more men to accept that it is ok to look up to female artists."
Texas progressive rock band Valeluna has unveiled the official music video for "Evensong," off of their July 2016 full length release Affinity. "Evensong" was directed and edited by Ben Chai.
"We had met with Ben, the director for ‘Evensong’, about 4 months before actually filming to discuss plans and what our visions were for our music videos and right off the bat, it felt right. We wanted to hire someone that would work as hard filming and directing as we did making the music. Ben is that guy and I think this video exudes our passion for what we both do all in one phenomenal moment." – Valeluna
Drawing inspiration from the calming ambiance of Texas post rock, nostalgic classic rock influences, and the alluring nature of progressive songwriting, Valeluna's Affinity will envelope you in an atmosphere of emotional rock music and take you on a journey through soothing soundscapes to powerfully orchestrated anthems.
Devil To Pay return with a new video, “Kobold In The Breadbasket”, available for streaming below.
The four-piece issued their fifth full-length, A Bend Through Space And Time, last year via Ripple Music, and in follow-up clips for “Your Inner Lemmy” and “On And On (In Your Mind)” they take to the woods for the moody “Kobold In The Breadbasket”, a somewhat slower, more languid and ultimately darker track that was nonetheless a standout from the record.
Guitarist/vocalist Steve Janiak, joined in the band by guitarist Rob Hough, bassist/backing vocalist Matt Stokes and drummer Chad Profigle, says, “”Kobold In The Breadbasket” is our little mythological lament, a fairy tale where a farmer in another time and place inadvertently curses himself and his family. It was intended as a metaphor for mankind’s disregard for nature and penchant for ecological disaster. In keeping with the nature theme, we filmed the video in Brown County, Indiana, at the edge of a man-made lake with our good friend Jay Rich. Our upcoming West Coast tour is currently in the works. It starts 4/20 and will be our first trip back to the coast since 2006.”
More to come from Devil To Pay in 2017, so stay tuned.
The official video for Norwegian singer Jorn Lande' cover version of the DIO classic "Rainbow In The Dark" can be seen below. The song was featured on Jorn's latest album, "Heavy Rock Radio", which was released last June via Frontiers Music Srl.
"Heavy Rock Radio" was described in a press release as "a unique album of covers of classics from artists and bands that have meant something special to [Lande], and helped forge this talented man's own unique style."
Through Jorn's extensive career, which includes more than 40 albums of mostly original songs, he has also recorded great versions of several rock classics such as THIN LIZZY's "Are You Ready", UFO's "On And On", DEEP PURPLE's "Perfect Strangers", and many more. Jorn also recorded a successful Ronnie James Dio tribute album, released in 2010. Every song Jorn covers is treated with the utmost respect and "Jorn-ized" accordingly. A good example is his heavy sounding version of "I Walk Alone", first released by Tarja Turunen (ex-NIGHTWISH).
"Heavy Rock Radio" is not an ordinary album of cover songs; it is truly a songbook of hits. Featured — among others — are great versions of the EAGLES' "Hotel California" and Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill", which gets the Jorn style treatment to become very powerful and epic, without losing its commercial touch. More great classics included are John Farnham's "You're The Voice", QUEEN's "Killer Queen", and two absolute melodic rock evergreen gems in JOURNEY's "Don't Stop Believin'" and FOREIGNER's "Rev On The Red Line".
The original concept of the album was to create a sort of jukebox of radio hits, but to avoid leaning too much on the pop side of rock, Jorn decided to blend the track listing with a few more up tempo rock tracks as well, such as "The Final Frontier" by IRON MAIDEN ("probably the closest you get to anything commercial with IRON MAIDEN," says Jorn), "Live To Win" by Paul Stanley (a song which was also featured on the popular television series "South Park"), and a few hard rock classics show up as well from DEEP PURPLE ("Stormbringer"), DIO ("Rainbow In The Dark") and BLACK SABBATH ("Die Young") to complete the mix.
Jorn says: "The most important thing was to treat these songs with respect towards the original versions. My goal was always to think that the original artist would be honored and find my version relevant. At the same time, my intention was never to try to compete with the original song and artist, but make it a strong alternative version to enjoy. At the same time, it is a well-deserved homage to these artists and bands who influenced me strongly, and I have wanted to record these songs for quite some time but was always too busy writing and recording my own songs to make it happen. Originally, I had a list of 40-50 songs I wanted to do, but I had to strip it down to about 15 songs before deciding on the final tracklist. This means that there are some unfinished business musically, and I will most likely record more of these songs in the future."
Jorn's catalogue is getting too long to include in brief press statements, and his innovative and creative skills have led to him selling millions of albums worldwide and being a frequent entry on sales charts around the world, including Billboard. Worth a mention is his years with MASTERPLAN, with whom he recorded three albums. Claimed to be the biggest selling Norwegian musical export, since the pop band A-HA, Jorn continues his rock crusade, and there are no signs of him slowing down yet.
The title "Heavy Rock Radio" came quite naturally, as the sound of this album feels like if it's tailor made for any rock radio station, and while Jorn's voice can be enjoyed on more than 40 albums in different rock and metal styles, this record is a special treat which will tide over all the fans waiting for the new original album which is being worked on at the moment.

"Oh My God", the new video from THE PRETTY RECKLESS, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's third studio set, "Who You Selling For", which arrived on October 21.
Asked what she means by the line "I wish I was black" in "Oh My God", THE PRETTY RECKLESS singer Taylor Momsen told TeamRock: "I don't wanna get too specific; it's not that simple. It's not just as simple as 'I wish I was black', it's 'I wish had soul and my music attacked.' It's going, 'I wish I had more to me than I feel like I do.'
Added guitarist Ben Phillips: "If you take that song literally, and I don't think people do when they hear it, but if you break it down and ask questions about it…" Taylor continued: "... it kind of rips away the whole point of the song, which is desperation."
Ben went on to say: "It's like 'Animals' by PINK FLOYD, when he says 'Big man, pig man,' it's not actually a pig man. If you asked him, 'Is there a pig man sitting in front of you?' the answer would be no. That was a really terrible analogy! But I think that song is desperate desire to be more than you are, and that lyric is interesting."
THE PRETTY RECKLESS recently broke a record set by 3 DOORS DOWN and saw its first four mainstream singles hit No. 1 on Billboard's rock chart. The band's song "Take Me Down" topped the chart, following in the footsteps of "Heaven Knows", "Messed Up World" and "Follow Me Down" from 2014's "Going To Hell" album. That broke the group's tie with 3 DOORS DOWN and put them in a position to tie or break the next record, five No. 1 singles, which is owned for now by Canada's THREE DAYS GRACE.
San Diego, California's PIERCE THE VEIL has unveiled the music video for the band's new single, "Floral & Fading". To celebrate the video, the band hosted a special release event last night in association with Spotify and KROQ at Paramount Drive-In Theatre in Paramount, California. The band held a question-and-answer broadcast on Facebook Live for fans worldwide, before an acoustic set and private screening of the video on the drive-in big screen for lucky winners, launching simultaneously with the worldwide premiere of the video online for fans around the world.
The video also had its broadcast premiere today with MTV, playing every hour on the hour on MTVU, MTVLive and MTV2.
"Floral & Fading" is taken from PIERCE THE VEIL's latest album, "Misdaventures", which debuted at position No. 4 on The Billboard Top 200 last year with 54,000 copies sold in the U.S. in its first week.
"We weren't really sure what kind of song we were making when we recorded 'Floral & Fading'," frontman Vic Fuentes explains. "It was sort of a studio experiment that ended up being one of my favorites on the album. It's a love song to my girl about ignoring all the Internet hate we got when we first started dating and focusing on each other instead."
PIERCE THE VEIL was recently nominated for "Best Underground Alternative Band" in the 2017 iHeart Radio Music Awards.
The band will kick off its headline "Rest In Space" tour on February 17, with dates scheduled through March 10, before hitting the road again in April for a string of festivals, including 98ROCK Fest in Tampa, Welcome To Rockville, Carolina Rebellion, Northern Invasion and Rock On The Range.
PIERCE THE VEIL is Vic Fuentes (rhythm guitar, vocals), Jaime Preciado (bass), Tony Perry (guitar) and Mike Fuentes (drums ).
"Endure And Survive", the new Rich Pembridge-directed video from British heavy metal vocalist Blaze Bayley (IRON MAIDEN, WOLFSBANE), can be seen below. The song is the title track of his ninth solo album, which will be released on March 3 via Blaze Bayley Recording. The disc was recorded at Birmingham, England's Robannas Studios and said to be "an exciting and enthralling sequel" to his 2016 release "Infinite Entanglement", which was the first of a trilogy of releases following a sci-fi concept and storyline.
"Endure And Survive" will be accompanied by a world tour totalling some 120 shows. The European leg of the tour takes place principally between February and June 2017. After a small number of summer shows, Blaze will then go to the United States and Canada during August-September. It's also planned to take the tour to Latin America in 2018.
Throughout this world tour, Blaze will be backed by his main recording and touring musicians, picked from British metal band ABSOLVA and including Chris Appleton (guitar, backing vocals), Martin McNee (drums), Karl Schramm (bass, backing vocals).
In addition to the established bandmembers as above from ABSOLVA, "Endure And Survive" also contains a talented array of collaborators: Luke Appleton (ICED EARTH, ABSOLVA) on backing vocals; Michelle Sciarrotta on nylon acoustic, backing vocals, voice actor; Jo Robinson on backing vocals; Mel Adams on backing vocals; Liz Owen on backing vocals; Thomas Zwijsen on nylon acoustic, Anne Bakker on violin, backing vocals; Corvin Bahn (Uli Jon Roth) on accordion; Aine Brewer (voice actor); and Rob Toogood (voice actor) on backing vocals.
The spectacular album artwork has been completed by Andreas Sandberg, with additional images from Christopher Steenstrup who is also working on a Blaze Bayley video game.
"Endure And Survive" was recorded between October and December 2016, produced by Blaze Bayley and Chris Appleton, mixed and engineered by Miguel Seco, mastered by Ade Emsley (IRON MAIDEN, TANK, PHIL CAMPBELL). As with the previous record, the songwriting has been a collaboration between Blaze, Chris Appleton and Michelle Sciarrotta.
"Endure And Survive" track listing:
01. Endure And Survive02. Escape Velocity03. Blood04. Eating Lies05. Destroyer06. Dawn Of The Dead Son07. Remember08. Fight Back09. The World Is Turning The Wrong Way10. Together We Can Move The Sun
2014-2015 was a period of building momentum for Blaze, partly created by the highly popular release of the fifteenth anniversary edition of his debut solo record, "Silicon Messiah", as well as his "Soundtracks Of My Life" thirty-year compilation celebrating his career since he began singing with his first band WOLFSBANE, before catapulting to worldwide fame with IRON MAIDEN.
2016 saw a significant renaissance with the remarkable plaudits given to the "Infinite Entanglement" album from fans and critics alike. The year was also notable for Blaze's special guest performance with DISTURBED at the U.K.'s premier festival Download when the warmth and recognition from the crowd was as crystal clear as it was predictable given Blaze's reputation for connecting with audiences.
"The Roman", the new video from EX DEO, the reactivated Ancient Roman-themed arsenal fronted by KATAKLYSM singer Maurizio Iacono, can be seen below. The song is taken from EX DEO's third album, "The Immortal Wars", which will be released on February 24 via Napalm Records. The cover artwork was created by renowned artist Eliran Kantor, who has previously worked with TESTAMENT, HATEBREED, SOULFLY and KATAKLYSM.
The CD's main concept deals with Punic Wars, a series of three wars fought between Rome and Carthage from 264 B.C. to 146 B.C. The epic legendary wars come to life and bring the showdown between two of the greatest generals that ever walked the earth, Hannibal and Scipio Africanus, both of whom rewrote the rules of war and strategies. The album also features other unexplored subjects on Ancient Rome surely to raise the epic level to the maximum. "The Immortal Wars" track listing:
01. The Rise Of Hannibal02. Hispania (The Siege Of Saguntum)03. Crossing Of The Alps 04. Suavetaurilia (Intermezzo)05. Cato Major: Carthago Delenda Est! 06. Ad Victoriam (The Battle Of Zama) 07. The Spoils Of War 08. The Roman KATAKLYSM guitarist Jean-François Dagenais once again took care of production duties, while Jens Bogren fine-tuned the whole affair at his mixing desk in Sweden.
Says EX DEO: "The new EX DEO album, 'The Immortal Wars', [is] a massive wall of sound and it will make our rivals in 'Roman-hating' bands sound like schoolgirls. The artwork is complete and the word 'epic' and 'dramatic' cannot be expressed more. The music will bring your urge to got to war on behalf of Rome to a level 10. People of the eternal city, feel the might, the album you have waiting for so long is here .. ready, strong and WILL destroy everything in it's path. Ave Roma!"
EX DEO's sophomore album, "Caligvla", was released in August 2012 via Napalm.
South Wales, UK death metal outfit, Venom Prison, have released a music video for “Corrode The Black Sun” a track from the band’s debut full-length album, Animus, released last year via Prosthetic Records.
The video depicts the band playing in an abandoned house while a woman peels her skin away. "The idea behind the is about tearing away and shedding skin to become a new and better person," explains vocalist Larissa Stupar. "I was always fascinated with the fact that the Nazis were able to kill over six million people with the use of stationary facilities built exclusively for the purpose of mass extermination, while a whole nation categorically denied knowledge of the atrocities that were committed."
"Growing up in Germany, I have learned that people have trouble recognising that every cog and social issue had a part to play to some extent. It is a difficult reconciliation with the concept of collective guilt, but closing our eyes to the hands of psychopaths committing horrific mass crimes makes all of us responsible," says Stupar. "The ideals of fascism have been part of human history throughout. You see the same kind of lunatics marching with torches through German streets, the KKK is still performing their idiotic rituals yet the world still chooses to close its eyes while hate crimes are being committed."

Recorded by Tom Dring at Vagrant Recordings (Dragged Into Sunlight, Electric Wizard), Animus is 10 tracks of aural assaulting brutality. Venom Prison tackle subjects such as social Darwinism, misogyny, rape culture and the rejection of God and religion. As seen below, the artwork for Animus was created by German based legendary artist, Eliran Kantor (Testament, Sigh) who worked closely with Larissa to capture some of the themes of the album.
Vocalist Larissa Stupar elaborates: “The album's lyrics capture and portray various forms of fighting an oppressive force. One of them struck Eliran's eye as the most livid out of them all. In Perpetrator Emasculation a rapist is being force-fed his own genitalia. It's not a secret that death metal art and lyrical content often involve violence against women and we liked the idea of turning the tables. That lyrical segment depicts the title and theme of the record very well and the visual execution makes your flesh crawl with vengeance."

“Desecration of Human Privilege”

Andorran prog/melodeath riff-masters Persefone have released an animated video for “Prison Skin”, a song from their upcoming fifth album, Aathma. The clip is available for streaming below.
Persefone’s own words about the song: "It's been some time since we finished and mixed the album. Although we couldn't wait to share this music with everyone, some steps have to be followed before the release. The wait is almost over. During this time we have had the chance to witness a highly appreciated feedback from media and now we are ready to finally show you the first single from Aathma. The single “Prison Skin” is the first full track of the album and makes a musical statement about how the album will develop musically and sets the mood for the lyrical concept. It was supposed to be a lyric video in the beginning, but the people behind this creation did such a great job that we decided to go with just the animation part. But please, make sure you read the lyrics as you listen to the music, because one part meets the other to bring this concept to live. Thanks for the patience, love and support."
Aathma, set for release on February 24th via ViciSolum Records, features Cynic's Paul Masvidal on the song "Living Waves", as well as on “An Infinitesimal Spark”.
Aathma was mixed and mastered by legendary producer Jens Bogren in his Fascination Street Studios (Sweden). The album includes the epic 20-minute title-track, with guest appearances from vocalist Merethe Soltvedt and Leprous guitarist Øystein Landsverk.
Aathma will be released as double vinyl, digipak, CD and digital. The cover was created by none other than Travis Smith, who shouldn't need further introduction. Smith also did the cover art for Persefone's last album.

"Poontang Boomerang", the new video from the internationally renowned glam rock band STEEL PANTHER, can be seen below. The song is taken from STEEL PANTHER's upcoming album, "Lower The Bar", which will be released on March 24 via Kobalt Music Recordings. The clip explores the true meaning of "not sticking your dude piston in crazy." STEEL PANTHER recently made headlines when they were hired by Sofia Vergara to perform at her husband Joe Manganiello's 40th-birthday party, and according to sources, "It was the biggest Hollywood rager in years."
"Lower The Bar" is STEEL PANTHER's fourth studio album and is the follow-up to their 2014 chart-topper "All You Can Eat", which debuted at #1 on Billboard's Top Current Comedy chart and #24 on their Top 200 Album chart.
For the uninitiated, STEEL PANTHER was formed in 2000 and is Michael Starr (lead singer), Satchel (guitarist), Lexxi Foxx (bass) and Stix Zadinia (drums). Hailing from Los Angeles, the epicenter for rock n' roll in all its debauchery and glamour, STEEL PANTHER has established themselves as the world's premier party band, melding hard rock virtuosity with parody and criminally good looks. STEEL PANTHER have three full-length albums, toured across the world, enjoy platinum-level YouTube status and have, to their name, high-profile television appearances such as "Jimmy Kimmel Live!", "Larry King Now" and "FOX NFL Sunday".
STEEL PANTHER recently released a video for its sexified" version of the CHEAP TRICK song "She's Tight". Cameos in the video include CHEAP TRICK's Robin Zander, Bobbie Brown, Paris Michael Jackson (the late singer's daughter) and Tony Palermo (PAPA ROACH).
