HAIL SAGAN Streaming “Doors Will Open” Video

Los Angeles, CA-based electronic rockers, Hail Sagan, have debuted their brand new music video for the single "Doors Will Open". Fronted by the mighty Sagan Amery, who's backed by some killer masked musicians including guitarist Nick Quijano (Powerman 5000), this act is one all heavy rock fans need to check out.

"Doors Will Open", now available on CD Baby and Amazon, is set to be the featured track in the New Bugbear Entertainment video game Wreckfest that's due out in 2018 on Xbox, PS4 and PC.

Hail Sagan will be embarking on a headlining tour in the US in the New Year with Rivals and The Scars Heal in Time as support.

Commenting on their new video, the band noted: "The song is a heavier track compared to most of what we have released in the past; we feel it celebrates our roots as people who enjoy listening to a harder genre of music, while displaying our ability to be diverse musicians. After being involved in co-production of our last few videos, we were very interested in giving it a try ourselves, and seeing if we were able to apply what we had learned to the new music video for 'Doors Will Open.' Both of us are artists so we wanted to approach the visuals from a creative surreal perspective. We had a lot of fun designing the various sequences of the storyline, and we learned a lot about filming through trial and error. Overall, it was a great experience and we look forward to expanding our abilities in film and incorporating it with the music we release in the future."

Video Premiere: PAPA ROACH's 'Traumatic'

PAPA ROACH's music video for the song "Traumatic" can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's ninth studio album, "Crooked Teeth", which was released on May 19 via Eleven Seven Music.

Written and recorded in a cramped North Hollywood studio, "Crooked Teeth" was produced by Nicholas "RAS" Furlong and Colin Brittain, with the exception of "Born For Greatness", which saw the band collaborate with writer/producer Jason Evigan (Jason Derulo, Demi Lovato, Zedd, MAROON 5). Furlong and Brittain, who grew up listening to PAPA ROACH, inspired the band to revisit some of the traits that personally endeared the band to them, most notably singer Jacoby Shaddix's rapping technique and the band's intense live energy.

"The first time we met up with RAS and Colin, they said that [2000's] 'Infest' was on constant rotation when they were growing up and they wanted to bring back some of that fire," said Shaddix. Added Furlong: "The whole idea was to take the classic elements of PAPA ROACH that everyone loved and revamp them into a modern version of the sound through the creative process, and we ended up with a bold, courageous and more adventurous version of PAPA ROACH."

PAPA ROACH will return to the studio in the summer to resume work on its follow-up to "Crooked Teeth". Shaddix told TheRave TV earlier this month: "In June and July [of 2018], we're gonna step in the studio and continue working on the next record — we've already started work on the next record — and pick up where we left of with 'Crooked Teeth' and just keep kicking ass and taking names."

PAPA ROACH has been previewing a new song called "Geronimo" at some of the band's recent shows. Drummer Tony Palermo told Germany's Metal-Heads.de that the track's lyrics "are basically [about] Jacoby growing up and looking for stuff to do in a small town."

KAMELOT Releases Video For 'Under Grey Skies' Feat. CHARLOTTE WESSELS Of DELAIN

KAMELOT has released a music video for the song "Under Grey Skies", featuring a guest appearance by DELAIN's Charlotte Wessels.

KAMELOT vocalist Tommy Karevik calls "Under Grey Skies" "one of my favorite songs" from the band's latest album, "Haven", and says that the track was written "about the importance of never giving up on yourself or the people around and that you can always make a difference in someone else's life. Sometimes by just believing in them or simply listening to what they have to say."

He adds: "It was very nice singing with Charlotte and her voice fits the song perfectly."

Adds Wessels: "I absolutely adore songs like 'Under Grey Skies' that inspire hope and optimism in the darkest of times. I was proud to be part of the track and even more thrilled that there's a video for the song to share now as well. Add to that the fact that KAMELOT and DELAIN will share the stage again in the U.S. this spring and I'd say there's plenty of things to get excited about!"

KAMELOT guitarist Thomas Youngblood states: "We wanted to release this video as a last 'Haven' Christmas gift to the fans.

"This album has reached so many new heights for us, thanks to the fans and some long and intense touring.

"The next album is almost ready to be unleashed in 2018. Get ready for a monster!!

"We approach the end of the 2017 and the ending of the epic 'Haven' tour. What an amazing time we have had with 'Haven', taking the band to new countries, cities and highest chart placements in the band's history. Debuting at #1 on Billboard's Hard Rock Charts was a stunning reminder that we have the best fans in the world!!

"But wait! We will not leave for the Christmas break without dropping a nice and beautiful Christmas present here for all of you beautiful people! Here is our video for 'Under Grey Skies' featuring Charlotte Wessels from DELAIN. Also appearing on this track is Troy Donockley from NIGHTWISH. Enjoy and see you all on tour in 2018!!!"

KAMELOT recently spent time at a studio in Wolfsburg, Germany putting the finishing touches on its new album with producer Sascha Paeth. The follow-up to "Haven" will be released in early 2018 via Napalm.

Youngblood told Rock Overdose that the band's new material was harkening "back to the 'Ghost Opera' days a bit with 'Haven' elements."

"Haven" sold around 7,600 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD was made available in May 2015 via Napalm Records as part of an exclusive licensing deal through the band's Kamelot Music LLC.

XAEL Premier "Apathy Of The Immortal" Music Video

From Rush to Voivod, the science-fantasy album has long been an integral part of the heavy metal cannon; now; carrying this proud tradition into the 21st century is Xael.

Founded by Nassaru of Rapheumets Well/Enthean as well as Sorgiem “Daniel Presnell,” Tuurm “Alex Rush” from Enthean, and Xolotl “Fernando Ortega” and featuring various guest artists, Xael is influenced by Septic Flesh, Iron Maiden, Augury, Wardruna and Fleshgod Apocalypse, vocalist / guitarist / studio drummer Nassaru describes the band's music as “a thought provoking metal journey.”

Making their mark with the premiere of their debut video "Apathy Of The Immortal", the band offers a visually capturing representation of their extreme music and sci-fi storytelling.

The band comments: "This is the first in our series of videos to come that take place on this foreign planet. This was a community effort, with an artist from our local scene coming together to make this video happen. We are wanting to both represent musically as well as visually our story, which is both science fantasy based as well as relatable to our journey to understand ourselves. Apathy of the Immortal takes place a bit into the story. The immortal wayfarer, after venturing to this hostile planet finds himself burdened by his past and the degrading endeavors of sentient life. Accompanied by the "Watchers Of Xan" a resistance group on Tymeer, he finds that his body regenerates time after time, but his mental capacity for coping with this lengthen life span is diminishing, causing him to have disassociation and hallucinations. One such hallucination is seeing a demonic apparition of "Time" and its acolyte "Decay". For time cannot touch the wayfarer, it taunts him with its ability to take away the world around him. This song is a reflection of the fear of what the future holds and our control over such events."

Recently signing to Vancouver, BC's Test Your Metal Records, Xael and the record label will be unleashing the band's music in a unique approach to debut their music in 2018.

Vocalist / guitarist / studio drummer Nassaru explains: “We will have eight songs standard and two instrumental tracks. Instead of releasing an album upfront, we want fans to share in our progress in a musical series, releasing two songs a month to allow more time for fans to appreciate the work and for us to best represent the songs in some form of art to convey the entirety of our vision…The album series is called The Last Arbiter, referring to the protagonist’s mission in the story and his pursuit of an unattainable purpose in pacifying the destructive nature of the sentient world."

Nassaru adds. “It will be different and very diverse, but at its core it is extreme metal, melodies in abundance, and storytelling bard style! So I believe it will be refreshing…something different combining symphonic and folk elements with brutal metal…We want to paint a soundscape, a myriad of imaginative and diverse environments while exploring the complications of being sentient and self-aware.”

Xael's first single "Apathy Of The Immortal" is also being offered as a free download via Bandcamp here.

NEAL MORSE Premiers "He Died At Home" Music Video; New Tour Dates Announced

Neal Morse has released a poignant video for “He Died At Home”. The song is from his latest solo album, Life & Times, which will be released on February 16th on Radiant Records via Metal Blade Records/SONY on all digital outlets, as well as CD and vinyl. Pre-orders are now available here.

“He Died At Home” is about a mother’s grief over the loss of her soldier son. As Morse says, “I had been praying for a roommate of a friend of mine, who was a troubled ex-military guy. The day we were playing in Paris, I woke up to a text saying that sadly, he had died. As I began formulating ideas for a song about him, I remembered that many years ago, I had been at a meeting at a military base in Tennessee. They asked us to pray for their men because almost every week they were going to the funeral of those who had ‘died at home'."

“Because of the idea for the song,” he continues, “I was researching soldier suicides online and found an article in The Guardian about a young soldier named William Busbee. He came back from Afghanistan in 2012, and then committed suicide. The video director contacted Libby Busbee, his mother, who listened to the song and was so moved that she is contributing photos of William to put in a video we’ll be sharing very soon.”

The song also had quite an impact when it was premiered at Morsefest 2017, where it was very much the talk of the festival. Watch the new video below.

Tracklisting:

"Livin’ Lightly"
"Good Love Is On The Way"
"JoAnna"
"Selfie In The Square"
"He Died At Home"
"She’s Changed Her Mind"
"Wave On The Ocean"
"You + Me + Everything"
"Manchester"
"Lay Low"
"Old Alabama"
"If I Only Had A Day"

"He Died At Home" video:

Widely regarded as one of the world’s leading progressive rock (“prog”) musicians, there is now no doubt that Neal Morse is a “big success,” but his desire to move people through his music burns brighter than ever. Now in his mid-fifties and his children grown up, there is a sense on Life & Times that Morse is looking around and taking stock.

“I’ve come through a lot of difficult times and I’m in a fairly content place now,” he says. “You can feel that on some of the songs.” Much of this ‘acoustic-orientated, singer/songwriter’ album was written while he was travelling around the world on The Road Called Home tour in 2017, with some of the songs being inspired by the places he visited, while others are from spending time with his family.

For example, “Manchester By The Sea” is a musical portrait of that notorious rarity—a sunny day in Manchester, England—when Morse was sitting in a coffee shop watching the world go by. “Selfie In The Square” captures what he saw walking around Luxembourg City, hearing the cathedral bells and children playing, but realizing what a difference it makes to share these experiences. “Luxembourg was really nice, but I knew that if my wife was there, it would feel like a holiday, so I wrote a song about it to send to her,” he explains.

Born in 1960 to a musical Californian family, Morse played in many bands during his youth. He learned and mastered several instruments along the way. In 1995, he wrote and recorded The Light with his new band, Spock’s Beard. It was an album grounded strongly in the then-unfashionable progressive rock genre. The album and title song became modern prog classics, and began to bring Morse and the band global recognition. In 2000, he also joined forces with Mike Portnoy (ex-Dream Theater), Pete Trewavas (Marillion) and Roine Stolt (The Flower Kings) to form Transatlantic, a prog supergroup that went on to win the PROG Magazine Award for “Album of the Year.”

Neal Morse’s solo work has focused almost entirely on music with a strong message of redemption, beginning with 2003’s Testimony - a two-disc musical account of his spiritual journey - and most recently with The Neal Morse Band’s PROG Magazine Award nominee, The Similitude Of A Dream, based on John Bunyan’s classic allegory, The Pilgrim’s Progress.

In touring news, Morse is hoping to move more people with these songs at some “absolutely solo” shows in cafes and small venues throughout the US and Europe in 2018. Check out Neal Morse at the following tour stops (with more dates to be added in the coming weeks on his official website):

HYBORIAN Post "As Above, So Below" Music Video

Hyborian recently signed with Season Of Mist. The Kansas City-based heavy metal riff machine will reissue their debut album, Hyborian Vol. 1, through the label on February 23rd. Pre-order the album here, and watch a music video for the opening track “As Above, So Below”, below.

Hyborian Vol. 1 was recorded by the band at their self-built studio, mixed by Justin Mantooth at Westend Studios, and mastered by Nick Zampiello at New Alliance East. It was originally released by the band (in conjunction with friends The Company KC) in March 2017 and tells the tale of an extra-dimensional, cloaked being called The Traveller.

The band explains the concept: "Hyborian Volume I is a collection of stories from the dawn of humanity, events that occurred before the advent of the written word. It is the first in a series of legends from different epochs as told by a figure named The Traveller. The Traveller is a being that exists outside of humanity's understanding of space and time. He is the source of all life in the universe, but is not omnipresent. He wanders the cosmos, visiting and recording times of great strife or hardship, great suffering or great triumph. We are his chosen mouthpiece on Earth, so we relate those stories, whether from far in the past or far in the future."

Hyborian Vol. 1 tracklisting:

“As Above, So Below”
“Maelstrom”
“Blood for Blood”
“Dead Lies Dreaming”
“Ajna”

AVATAR Releases Music Video For 'The King Wants You'

"The King Wants You", the new video from Swedish metallers AVATAR, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's seventh full-length album, "Avatar Country", which will be released on January 12 via Entertainment One in North America and Century Media Records Ltd. in the rest of the world. The disc was produced by Jay Ruston (STONE SOUR, ANTHRAX, STEEL PANTHER) this past summer at Spinroad Recording Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden.

"Avatar Country" track listing:

01. Glory To Our King
02. Legend Of The King
03. The King Welcomes You To Avatar Country
04. King's Harvest
05. The King Wants You
06. The King Speaks
07. A Statue Of The King
08. King After King
09. Silent Songs Of The King Pt. 1 - Winter Comes When The King Dreams Of Snow
10. Silent Songs Of The King Pt. 2 - The King's Palace

Vocalist Johannes Eckerström told Billboard magazine earlier this year that AVATAR is "not a political band in the truest sense of the word, meaning that [we don't] put into our lyrics what we think people should vote for or revolt against." However, he said that AVATAR shares "certain core values. We care deeply about animals. We all passionately agree that any form of homophobia or anything like that is fucking stupid. There are certain core values like that that go beyond how we think we should solve whatever needs to be tweaked about healthcare in our home country or how to finance a bridge building in our hometown."

When it comes to lyrics, Eckerstrom told Billboard: "I would never put a message in there that wasn’t somewhat in line with something the rest of the band could stand behind, because the bass lines belong to me just as much as they belong to [bassist] Henrik [Sandelin], just as the same way my lyrics belong to the whole band just as much as they belong to me."

STEREO SATELLITE Feat. DISTURBED, ADRENALINE MOB, Ex-ROCKSTAR SUPERNOVA Members: 'Glass Houses' Video

The official music video for "Glass Houses", the debut single from STEREO SATELLITE — the new band featuring DISTURBED bassist John Moyer, ADRENALINE MOB members Mike Orlando (guitar) and Jordan Cannata (drums), and ex-ROCKSTAR SUPERNOVA singer Lukas Rossi — can be seen below.

Says the group: "After years in the making, we are very proud to be finally sharing our new band with the world... Ladies and gentlemen, we give you STEREO SATELLITE.

"By melding hook-filled melodies within heavy guitar riffs and hard beats, STEREO SATELLITE shows their ability to compact a vast array of influence and experience into a signature sound with substance, style, and spirit."

STEREO SATELLITE will make its live debut at the ShipRocked cruise on Tuesday, January 23, 2018.

Orlando and Cannata were both involved in a crash last July that resulted in the death of ADRENALINE MOB bassist David Zablidowsky.

The band was touring in support of its third studio album, "We The People", which was released on June 2 via Century Media. The follow-up to 2014's "Men Of Honor" was the first ADRENALINE MOB release to feature Zablidowsky and Cannata.

Orlando states: "Over the past recent months, I have learned a lot about how cathartic music can be, especially after going through such a heinous life-changing tragedy. It's been a complete uphill battle in even trying to begin to heal physically and mentally. I have a long road ahead, for sure, and will have to undergo many more procedures and ongoing therapy. I don't think I'll ever fully heal mentally, but I've been moved to write songs again with my brother Lukas, who I feel is an amazing songwriting partner, and start this new band along with my brothers John Moyer and Jordan Cannata. I find it really helps me to cope and I can't wait to share all the music we've written and start touring again full-time."

Moyer admits to having mixed feelings about the band being dubbed a supergroup. "We hate the supergroup thing because it's a new band in its own right," he says. "But I think it's important for us to say we've been around the rock music scene for a long time and in various ways. STEREO SATELLITE is a new beginning for us all, and I'm looking forward to sharing our new music with the fans very soon."

Rossi concurs, saying: "I can't wait to release our new songs and perform them live with these awesome guys. Regarding the supergroup thing, look I don't care what you call us, just call us!"

Back in 2006, Rossi was declared the winner of the second season of "Rock Star" and assumed frontman duties for ROCKSTAR SUPERNOVA, a band comprised of MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee, former METALLICA bassist Jason Newsted and former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Gilby Clarke.

Moyer joined DISTURBED in 2003 and has appeared on the albums "Ten Thousand Fists", "Indestructible", "Asylum" and "Immortalized".

POWERFLO Feat. BIOHAZARD, CYPRESS HILL, Ex-FEAR FACTORY Members: 'Less Than A Human' Video

"Less Than A Human", the new video from POWERFLO — the band featuring BIOHAZARD's Billy Graziadei and former FEAR FACTORY bassist/guitarist Christian Olde Wolbers alongside Sen Dog from CYPRESS HILL, Rogelio Lozano from DOWNSET, and Brazilian drummer Fernando Schaefer — can be seen below. The song is taken from POWERFLO's self-titled debut album, which was released on June 23 via New Damage Records.

Directed by Graziadei, the "Less Than A Human" clip captures live footage from POWERFLO's recent treks with P.O.D., ALIEN ANT FARM, FIRE FROM THE GODS, BRUJERIA and more. Billy commented: "We made a lot of friends around the country during these past tours. We filmed this video on the road to showcase what we do best… kicking ass and taking names!"

Melding hip-hop, metal, punk, and rock into a potent offering, POWERFLO draws on its powerhouse resume to collectively smash boundaries. The album is produced by Josh Lynch and Billy Graziadei, mixed by Jay Baumgardner (GODSMACK, PAPA ROACH, HELMET) and mastered by Maor Applebaum (FAITH NO MORE, HALFORD, ADRENALINE MOB) at Maor Applebaum Mastering.

The origins of POWERFLO can be traced back over more than two decades as the members of the band would collaborate on numerous occasions. In addition to both CYPRESS HILL and BIOHAZARD appearing on the landmark platinum-selling "Judgment Night" soundtrack, Sen Dog delivered a cameo on BIOHAZARD's "State Of The World Address" in 1993, while Christian both guested on CYPRESS HILL's chart-topping 2000 double-album "Skulls & Bones", which Roy also guested on, and 2001's "Stone Raiders" in addition to performing with the group countless times. In 2015, longtime friend Roy played demos for Sen on a ride to the airport. The music immediately spoke to the rapper and thus POWERFLO was born.

36 CRAZYFISTS Release Video For 'Wars To Walk Away From'

"Wars To Walk Away From", the new video from Alaska's 36 CRAZYFISTS, can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's latest album, "Lanterns", which was released on September 29 through Spinefarm Records. It is their second release for the label and the follow-up to 2015's "Time And Trauma".

About the video, singer Brock Lindow said: "We had a blast doing our new video for 'Wars To Walk Away From' in the early hours of a nice, brisk fall morning in Virginia with director Justin Reich and his killer crew. We captured the live sense of the band as we ripped through a song about the journey of leaving what's behind you as far as you can and envisioning what's in front of you with Northern eyes..."

Lindow told AXS about the "Lanterns" album title: "The title came about through the vision I had of a man walking towards the vast mountains right south of where I live in Anchorage. Walking towards this vast landscape towards these massive mountains with hope in his heart. That lantern in his hand being symbolic of that hope, and that sense of a light source after coming through a very dark time of my life."

Regarding his band's musical evolution on "Lanterns", Lindow said: "Well it's just the next chapter of the band, another album of life being lived. Lessons learned and experience throughout. Hopefully we have grown as musicians since '94, and we have a better idea after each album on who we are, our signature sound and what sets us apart from other bands."

Ex-PANTERA Bassist REX BROWN Releases 'Fault Line' Video

"Fault Line", the new video from former PANTERA bassist Rex Brown, can be seen below. The track is taken from Rex's debut solo album, "Smoke On This", which was released on July 28 via Entertainment One (eOne). The disc marks the first time in Brown's career in which he serves as both lead vocalist and guitarist in a band.

Rex worked on "Smoke On This" with his primary collaborator and old friend Lance Harvill, a Nashville-based guitarist and songwriter. "Lance was and is my main man on this," Brown said. "Everything we did was finely tuned, both musically and brotherly."

Drums were tracked by Christopher Williams, himself no stranger to diverse tastes, from funk music to punk. His talent has been utilized by country music star Lee Greenwood, the reconstituted BLACKFOOT and most recently, power metal legends ACCEPT. The album was produced by New Yorker-turned-Nashville-transplant Caleb Sherman, a multi-instrumentalist with work on records by LITTLE BIG TOWN and PORTER BLOCK, among others. "Caleb produced the project from a musician's standpoint," added Brown. "Not just a typical producer's standpoint, which was something I definitely needed. Between Caleb and Lance, we were a force to be reckoned with. They really pulled out the best in me." Peter Keyes, known for his work with LYNYRD SKYNYRD, can also be heard on a few tracks. All bass tracking came from Rex himself as well.

Brown's solo debut strips away any boundaries and preconceived notions, reveling in a newfound freedom to express all of the various shades of the man whose name is out front. The song "Fault Line" helped him find his voice. "That was the very first one I sang," Brown said. "After I got that one, I knew that I could do it, and Lance was my biggest motivator in finding that voice. Up until that point, I just wasn't sure."

After leaving DOWN in 2011, Rex went on play with KILL DEVIL HILL, which has released two albums so far: "Kill Devil Hill" (2012) and "Revolution Rise" (2013).

Scotland’s KING WITCH Streaming “Beneath The Waves” Video

This February, Listenable Records will unleash Under The Mountain, the debut full-length from Scotland-based metal/doom rockers King Witch. A new video for “Beneath The Waves” is streaming below.

Elaborates vocalist Laura Donnelly, “'Beneath The Waves' was inspired by stories such as Moby Dick and explores man's need to destroy anything and everything beautiful, dangerous, and unfamiliar... and the retribution dealt in return. This track felt like a natural choice for the video - soaring vocals, massive drums and some huge riffs!"

Under The Mountain was recorded and produced by guitarist Jamie Gilchrist at their underground studio in their home city of Edinburgh, mixed and mastered by Tom Dring at Vagrant Recordings (Dragged Into Sunlight, Acolyte) in Southport and comes swathed in artwork created by vocalist Laura Donnelly. The record serves as King Witch's follow-up to their debut EP, Shoulders Of Giants, and boasts nine riff-laden tracks offset by the powerful yet bewitching vocals of Donnelly. Influenced by everything from Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin to Mastodon and High On Fire, Under The Mountain is as melodic as it is monolithic, taking its listener on a journey from soulful doom to full-tilt metal mayhem.

Formed in early 2015 in a dark cavern beneath the streets of old Edinburgh, King Witch manifests a potent and heavy brew of old school metal and the meatiest of '70s classic rock. In a time where many seek to stick rigidly within the confines of their chosen genre, King Witch simply writes the songs they want to play.

Under The Mountain is scheduled for a February 9th, 2018 release via Listenable Records. Preorders can be found at Listenable.net.

Tracklisting:

“Beneath The Waves”
“Carnal Sacrifice”
“Solitary”
“Under The Mountain”
“Approaching The End”

“Possession”
“Black Dog Blues”
