"Back To The Front", the album that was recorded last year by four members of the most recent lineup of the legendary Swedish metal act ENTOMBED — Lars Göran Petrov (vocals), Olle Dahlstedt (drums), Nico Elgstrand (guitar) and Victor Brandt (bass) — is being released today (Tuesday, August 5) via Century Media Records under the band name ENTOMBED A.D. The CD was recorded at Studio Bohus (ABBA, EUROPE) in Kungälv, Sweden with producer Roberto Laghi (IN FLAMES, HARDCORE SUPERSTAR). The cover artwork was painted by Zbigniew Bielak (WATAIN, VADER).
The official video for the song "Pandemic Rage" can be seen below.
In a recent interview with Metal Underground, Elgstrand stated about the addition of "A.D." to the ENTOMBED name: "We've had some internal turmoil that resulted in a separation of Alex [Hellid, guitar] from the band. [It] turns out he didn't wanna make music and tour on it. [We're] still not sure what the hell he wants to do! When we were about to release the album, he started bringing in lawyers and claimed that the name ENTOMBED belongs to him. Which, of course, it doesn't, but instead of getting into a lawsuit that would've gone on for a long time and wouldn't have made anyone happy except a bunch of lawyers, we decided to add 'A.D.' to the name and get on with what were supposed to do, which is making music and touring as a band. As of now, the name ENTOMBED is on hold for anyone to use until people involved come to a solution. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to happen in the near future."

The clock is ticking! SUICIDE COMMANDO published on 22.01.2010 the long-awaited new long player "Implements Of Hell"! The fascination of evil. Hardly a band is able to implement the most extreme human depths, as effective in club-ready and electronic sound worlds as SUICIDE COMMANDO, the musical angry foster child of the Belgian Johan Van Roy.
On his new long player, "Implements Of Hell", he pulls out all the stops of his career spanning more than two decades, and sends the listener on a roller coaster ride through hell all the ingredients that make up the phenomenon of SUICIDE COMMANDO. Lashing aggro dance tracks like the single "Die Motherfucker Die", alternate with dark, heavy, rhythmic synthesizer monsters that are not only a contemporary massively massive hint on the early works of the band, but "Implements Of Hell" also Excess of SUICIDE COMMANDO for the darkest and most threatening dance album to make in recent years.
Charles Manson had been raging in the techno-age, then it would have been his music. The killer pushes his craft on the club dress ... and you can not escape him! "Implements Of Hell" will be released as regular single-CD, limited edition double CD including bonus disc with exclusive remixes and the video clip for the single "Die Motherfucker Die", as well as a very limited fan box with the double CD and a variety of fan-goodies.

British extreme metallers CRADLE OF FILTH were forced to cut their set short last night (Saturday, August 15) at the Bloodstock Open Air festival in Derbyshire, England after guitarist Paul Allender was hit by an object thrown by a member of the audience, resulting in Paul being unable to finish the performance and requiring medical attention.
A BLABBERMOUTH.NET user by the name of "metalfanBKP" has submitted the following eyewitness account from the event:
"I am writing in to say what happened during the CRADLE OF FILTH set last night at Bloodstock. I am still absolutely appalled at the incident and feel that the official statement from Bloodstock organisers issued last night does not full portray the seriousness of the incident.
"I was standing in the second row, just in front of the centre of the stage, so I had a clear view of everything.
"Even before Paul Allender got hit by the missile, the band already had to dodge bottles and cups thrown at them. Dani Filth [CRADLE vocalist] at one point remarked, that 'if you are going to throw things at us, make sure they are full!' Up to that point, this was nothing out of the ordinary, however unpleasant this must have been for the band.
"However, during the sixth or seventh song of the set, when the both guitarists were not playing and were standing at the back of the stage with their backs turned to the audience (as members of COF seem to always do when they are not playing), someone threw a large object that hit Paul Allender in the lower back. He grimaced and put his hand to his back, immediately leaving the stage. The rest of the band continued playing the song without him and, eventually, they all left the stage.
"After about 10 minutes of silence, the organisers had announced that a missile thrown at the band had injured one of the band members and that the band would not continue. This happened approximately 35 minutes into an 80-minute set that COF was expected to play.
"Having spoken to the security at the front after the crowd began to disperse, I found out that Paul was actually taken to hospital (which accounted for the sound of ambulance sirens that was heard) and that the object thrown was, in fact, a 'gobstopper,' which is like a giant golf ball. It is incredibly dense and very heavy; if it had hit someone on the head, one of these objects could actually be lethal. What is more, three or more of these 'gobstoppers' had been found on the stage, which would indicate that someone actually targeted the band and that the missile hitting Paul Allender was not just a one-off.
"I do not know if Paul Allender was targeted purposefully for whatever reason, but the missile hit him as he was standing far away from the edge of the stage, with his back turned, which would suggest that the object was at least thrown in his direction.
"In these circumstances, as the Bloodstock announcer had said, 'the band could not continue for security reasons.' As far as I know, as of yesterday evening, the culprit was not yet found. The festival security did seem pretty relaxed with no obvious checks or searches taking place of those entering the arena and it looks like COF might have paid the price for this."

Jackson died this past Thursday, June 25 at age 50. He reportedly collapsed at his residence in the Holmby Hills section of Los Angeles, California, about noon Pacific time, suffering cardiac arrest, according to brother Randy Jackson. He died at UCLA Medical Center.
Guitarist Craig Locicero of the reunited San Francisco Bay Area thrashers FORBIDDEN has issued the following update:
"What a great night we had at Slim's [in San Francisco on Friday, September 12]! Everything about the experience was pretty f'n satisfying. I guess you could say it was full circle, closure and a new beginning all in one night.
"When we took the show one, we barely had three weeks to get the word out there. It didn't seem to matter because the show was still comfortably packed. This time there was a little room to breathe as opposed to when we did the two gigs with DEATH ANGEL, that was claustrophobic! But that was good too.
"When the word got out about [former FORBIDDEN drummer] Paul [Bostaph; SLAYER, TESTAMENT, EXODUS] playing with us again it sent some electricity around the Bay. But we already had a lot we wanted to prove on our own. The most important thing was for Russ [Anderson, vocals] just to be able to go out there and perform at his best, and he did! I'm not trying to make excuses for the guy, but he never got to put his best foot forward with our local gigs and the Euro tour we did back in June. Singers are sometimes victims of circumstance. When your a band that hasn't toured in over 12 years and you get nine shows in nine days in a row, somebody's gonna suffer. Russ did take one for the team then, but he didn't bitch (too much)! Haha. So, needless to say, he kicked ass on Friday night! Hit the highs and brought all the power big-time. I just think that some folks forget how hard it is to be a real singer in this genre. We don't have any kind of cushy situation here. Just five hard-working dudes making the music they love.
"Now for the rest of the evening. The crowd was on fire! It must have been cool for Mark [Hernandez, drums] to finally get to play for his home town after the last few months. He was great and everyone treated him accordingly. Mark really does fit the band wonderfully. He and Paul got along great and helped each other a ton. Paul was even showing him some old tricks he had to re-remember. That was priceless!
"The moment when Paul got behind the kit was deja vu! For me, the thing I love most about Paul's work with FORBIDDEN is how innovative his material really was. The beats, fills and groove were all so unique. It's any wonder why SLAYER sought him out in 1991! And he's a really nice human being as well. We really enjoyed that interaction again. Thanks to TESTAMENT for letting us borrow Paul for these few nights. Good times!
"That's not all that happened. Even Robb Flynn [MACHINE HEAD, ex-VIO-LENCE, FORBIDDEN], the original counterpart guitarist to myself, got up and sang 'Chalice of Blood' with Russ and Mark! That was great! Here we have our Paul Bostaph and Robb Flynn and Mark Hernandez all sharing the stage with us all at the same time! It was killer to have our old friend, Robb, step onto the same stage with us after all of those years. He was super-cool too! We're all very proud of Robb and MACHINE HEAD for what they represent for modern Bay Area metal. They know were it all began because they lived it.
"All of this was a big part of the dream. What we need next is Tim Calvert and Steve Jacobs to be available and make an appearance and the circle will be complete. All of these guys were all integral to the long history of FORBIDDEN. And that history is still being written today and in the future!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
"Next stop...Japan!"

Columbus, OH based rock band South Of Eden has issued their newest, classic rock gem "Lone Riders". Vocalist Ehab Omran talks about the ferocious, guitar-driven single:
“We chose ‘Lone Riders’ as our first single because we felt the high-energy music and down to earth lyrics encapsulate everything about this band. It’s about being broke, overlooked, and over being on the outside looking in. You deal with it by getting high and watching life go by because you can’t afford to keep up with it.
It’s a mixture of a lot of things. We’re ‘classically rock’ influenced, but listen to so many different genres and eras that there are a lot of different feelings in our music. When you hear us, I want you to walk away thinking, ‘That was honest and different'. We’re just doing what we do. We’re proof you can do anything you want and shouldn’t compromise your dreams.”
“We’re a band that writes, records, and plays like the pioneers of rock before us. We aren’t looking to bring anything back, but instead to remind people what rock n roll means. No rules. This music represents what we believe is real, raw music.”
“Our goal is to help open the doors for rock in the modern era. We want to sound the way we hear rock n roll in our heads; vintage with a sprinkle of today. The objective is to give listeners the feeling of discovering the genre for the first time. We think now is the moment to be a rock band.”
On their previous record, The Talk, the musicians headed to Los Angeles to record with Grammy Award-winning producer Greg Wells (Adele, Twenty One Pilots, Deftones). “When I first heard the band, it had its own original identity,” explains Greg. “That was something I had waited years to find. I emailed them back saying, ‘I want to be your Mutt Lang’.”
When it came to recording, South Of Eden honor the methods of those who come before them and “tape in a vintage way, with no click track, pitch correction, copy-paste, or any of that nonsense” and have kept the same approach on their newest release, "Lone Riders", produced by Ehab and Jakob Mooney.
In live news, South Of Eden will be playing The Southgate House Revival in Newport, KY on February 18th.
