A Killer's Confession, newly signed to MNRK Heavy, have shared their second single. Today, they drop the video for "Martyr".
"'Martyr' is the second step into the lore of Victim 1," the band says. "This song is the embodiment of acceptance of who you are and what you have to do. Tossing aside what others might think of your actions knowing in the end, it really doesn't matter what anyone thinks."
Regarding the accompanying video, AKC say, "The video for 'Martyr' is the idea of how soldiers from The Crusades will go to church to ask for penance for their actions. The scenery of a simpler time and the camaraderie between the knights says it all. "What we do is for the greater good.'"

Overall, A Killer's Confession explore the captivating repugnance of true crime, set to a soundtrack of melodic hard rock dosed with elements of metal and industrial, on their forthcoming album, the details of which will be announced in due course.
After three seminal albums with Mushroomhead, Reavis retreated from music, only for it to draw him back in 2016. He resurfaced at the helm of A Killer's Confession, delivering three cult favorite albums - Unbroken [2017], The Indifference of Good Men [2019], and Remember [2021]. Along the way, the band tallied tens of millions of streams in addition to collaborating with everyone from Brian "Head" Welch of Korn and Love And Death to Chad Gray of Mudvayne and Hellyeah. Joined by bassist JP Cross, guitarist James Skritch, and the duo drums of Will Spodnik and Kegan King, they also captivated crowds on tour.
During 2022, Waylon experienced an epiphany. "I had never thought about following a concept like this before," he said. "However, I decided to focus, live up to the name, and be A Killer's Confession."

In celebration of their 40th Anniversary (1984-2024), legendary British AOR rock band, FM, have released their fourteenth studio album, Old Habits Die Hard. In celebration, the band share a visualizer for the song, "Whatever It Takes". Watch below:
Following 2022’s Thirteen album, Old Habits Die Hard was delayed slightly by keyboard player Jem Davis’ cancer diagnosis (thankfully he’s now received the all-clear) and then by the sudden passing of FM’s founding guitarist Chris Overland (Steve’s brother), which hit the band hard.
Over the past 12 months, during their extensive touring schedule, FM produced the album themselves and recorded the bulk of it at their own Dale View and Electric Pepperland recording studios.
Opening track and first single “Out Of The Blue” was a song that originated from keyboard player Jem Davis. Says Jem, “The band love the music of Toto and Foreigner and so I tried to put those influences into one track. ‘Once Steve got involved and started singing it, I knew that we were onto something special.”
“'Out Of The Blue' is a song that old school FM fans will really latch on to,” says Steve. “So far, the reaction to the track has been amazing.”
“Whatever It Takes” and “No Easy Way Out” are typical FM melodic tracks and could fit seamlessly on to one of the bands earlier classic albums. Bass player and founder member Merv Goldsworthy explains, “No Easy way Out has the big typical FM chorus. It’s a massive hook. The kind of thing that we’ve become known for. It’s one of my favourites on the album.”
The heavier side of the album is represented by “Lost,” “Another Day in My World,” and “Leap of Faith.” Whilst more hard hitting, these songs embody the catchy melodic choruses that FM are known for.
“Cut Me Loose,” “California,” and “Blue Sky Mind” are poppier, more feelgood tracks. “Blue Sky Mind” was conceived again by keyboard player Jem Davis who originally wrote the song about his experience with his cancer diagnosis. ‘That song really was therapy for me. It was important that I got it out of my system and into music,” says Jem.
“Black Water” is a brooding, bluesy track that grows and grows. ‘This is a real favourite of mine,” says FM guitarist, Jim Kirkpatrick. “I could hear Brian May playing the guitar solo, so I pulled out my Brian May signature guitar and tried to do my best impersonation of him. Hopefully, I got somewhere close.”

Nightrage is back with their third single, "Persevere Through Adversity", from their upcoming 10th album, Remains Of A Dead World.
With the great help of their past bandmate and now producer, sound engineer, Fotis Benardo (Rotting Christ, Septicflesh, Sakis Tolis, Nightfall, On Thorns I lay, Suicidal Angels) at his Devasoundz studio in Athens Greece, and with his great producing skills, Remains Of A Dead World is a mixture of all the things that makes Nightrage a beast of integrity, they prove to be one of the last remaining true masters of the melodic death metal genre, fully unstoppable riffing, and great hooks with bigger than life guitar melodies with brutal vocals that represents the honesty and pure musical delivery, that comes straight from the heart.
The album has been mastered by a great friend of the band George Nerantzis (Abbath, Dark Funeral, Pain Of Salvation, Sakis Tolis) and his great skills gave the album a huge sound with clarity, power and analog flavor.
About the new single they had this to say:
Magnus; "When we write songs for an album, we want to have variation in tempo and dynamics but also in keys so that it is not only songs that go in E, or in our case C that we tune down to. Persevere is in Bb, so we dropped two steps down from C, which means that the song has a slightly different feel to how Nightrage usually sounds. I think it turned out very well. Heavy as hell!"
George; "Persevere Through Adversity' is one of my favorite songs in the album. It's a really diverse song with many dark, brutal, aggressive, and at the same time melodic elements. It's new and fresh, but always with the Nightrage signature sound. This is not one of our typical songs, and I am sure that it will be a great surprise. The song talks about the fact that we never stop learning and becoming better. Learning from our life experiences, fixing mistakes that we have done in the past and have harmed us. This life is a great journey to always improving, and never ever letting down yourself. Being always an eternal student, having your eyes open and listening. Enjoy!"

British metal band earthtone9 has unveiled their intense, thrash-infused new single, "Navison Record". The track is the second release from their upcoming album, In Resonance Nexus, scheduled to drop on June 21st through Candlelight.
Vocalist Karl Middleton on the new single: "'Navison Record' is an absolute rager. It's us really leaning into our thrash roots and going for it. The song is certainly different from et9's regular fare, but that's because we wanted to include some songs on this album that really gave our fans (and people who are new to earthtone9) some different looks. No point in just retreading the past! This tune is a real pit-friendly monster, and we just cannot wait to play it live."
earthtone9 is rightly hailed by those who know as one of the most forward-thinking, clever, musically wise, and creatively smart in the history of British metal. Emerging in the late ‘90s as nu-metal was beginning to surge, their more nuanced palette and intelligent approach saw them hailed as something special and excitingly against the grain from the very beginning. Making an album a year between 1998 and 2000 – beginning with their expertly crafted Lo-def(inition) Discord debut and culminating in 2000’s staggering Arc’tan’gent – it was a work rate as intense as the music was uniformly brilliant.
After splitting in 2002 the band made a surprise return in 2013 with the crowdfunded album, IV. Following this they made only occasional appearances in the live arena (including at the ArcTanGent Festival, which purloined its name from their third album!), before once again seeming to disappear on hiatus.
Now, 11 years on from their last record, they present In Resonance Nexus, a thrilling work of brains and muscle that not only stokes a fire but sees the band's core members – vocalist Karl Middleton and guitarists Owen Packard and Joe Roberts – rediscovering and reconnecting with what makes them so special. In Resonance Nexus is the heaviest, fiercest, most heightened record they have ever made; a startling combination of almost feral intensity and the latter-day songwriting chops they displayed on the IV album.
“In Resonance Nexus, as a title, is saying that we’ve found the core and the essence of the band again,” says Karl. “We were digging deep to find common musical ground, and between Joe and Owen, and I, it really felt like there was a resonance there. It feels like we've landed on a really legitimate, 21st-century version of the band. We were asking, ‘Why are we doing this?’ and having a very authentic answer.”
Across the 10 featured tracks the band’s signature sound is present and correct but now expanded with touches of everything from doom, to black metal, to shoegaze and deathcore.
Gathering together almost 40 songs before carefully choosing what should make the album, In Resonance Nexus is a record that’s been slowly and patiently crafted and carved out by artists prepared to throw away anything that didn’t quite have the desired effect. The results – with drum duties taken on in the studio by Bullet For My Valentine’s Jason Bowld – are a collection where every dynamic, moment of heaviness, thoughtful passage, and element of aggression is perfectly placed.

The album was produced by British production master Lewis Johns at The Ranch in Southampton, a collaboration that brought the band’s vision further to life.
“Lewis is unbelievable, super creative, super enthusiastic,” says Karl. “We were attracted to the stuff he’s done with bands like Employed To Serve, Svalbard, and Rolo Tomassi. He has a style, but you can also tell in everything he does that he enhances the vision of the band, rather than just imposing his thing. He was incredible in bringing the intensity and drive back into earthtone9.”
Completing the creative team is Colin Marks of Rain Song Design who created the stunning album art that runs throughout the release.
More than anything, In Resonance Nexus represents the idea that some things are just too good and too special to lie perpetually dormant. With something as pure as earthtone9, that desire to create never truly leaves you. Eventually, even after a decade or more, it wants to come out again.
“For me, this album is about persistence in heart and knowing that you can pursue stuff and do it to a high standard at any point in time,” says Karl. “It’s more vital and urgent - like the absolute distillation of what we do. This feels like a definitive statement.”
Don’t call it a comeback – In Resonance Nexus is simply the next chapter in earthtone9’s story. One that’s worth the decade wait.
Former Skid Row frontman, Erik Grönwall, has shared the video below, featuring his performance of Aerosmith's classic 70s power ballad, "Dream On":
Grönwall previously released the clip below, featuring his performance of "I Will Always Love You", originally written and performed by country legend Dolly Parton, and later covered by late R&B/pop singer Whitney Houston, who made the song a global smash hit.
Skid Row shared the following message, announcing that they had parted ways with Grönwall:
"Today Skid Row and Erik Grönwall jointly announce that Erik will step down as the vocalist for Skid Row. Longtime friend Lzzy Hale of Halestorm will be taking over vocal duties for the upcoming scheduled four concerts. Erik has decided that the travel and rigors of the road is not conducive to his overall health and recovery, and wants to focus on a lifestyle that is more amenable for his well-being, healing and family. Skid Row is proud of what they have created and accomplished with Erik over the past two years and we wish nothing but the best to him and his health. To celebrate the last two years the band will be releasing a live album that perfectly captures this moment of time in the band's 35+ year history, to be announced soon."
Grönwall took to social media to explain his decision to leave the band, writing: "Yes, I have decided to leave Skid Row. The main reason being that it’s proved difficult to prioritize my health and full recovery as the lead singer of the band.
"In 2021 I was undergoing treatment against leukemia and that gave me a superpower called perspective. I decided to use that perspective and write down the values I wanted to live by for the rest of my life. On top of that list it says “health first”. I’ve had to look at that list a lot of times this last year, questioning if I’m really living according to my values. At the end of the day I realized the answer was no.
"As a result of the treatments and transplant my immune system was impaired. You can think of my immune system as a 4 year old kid bringing home all kinds of viruses from preschool. It takes awhile to build up that resistance again but my immune system is getting stronger every day. However I’m still doing regular check ups (blood tests) at the hematology department in Sweden, which has proved challenging while keeping up with the Skid Row schedule. I have way too much respect for my medical history to push myself to the limit.
"I love Skid Row, I have nothing but respect for the guys in the band but I love and respect my health more. I understand that Skid Row is a touring band but like I told the guys: 'if I can’t prioritize my health, then I’m not the right guy for the job'.
"Please note, I’m NOT sick and it’s not that I don’t want to tour. I love being on the road. And of course we have tried to find the right balance together but at the end of the day I realized that it was better for me to step aside.
"So now I’m going to focus on my full recovery, and come back stronger than ever. Meanwhile I’m finalizing my biography. And I’m going to start writing my own music again.
"Lastly, once again thank you to everyone who accepted me as the singer of this iconic band.

King Crimson founder Robert Fripp and his wife, Toyah Willcox, have released their latest Sunday Lunch video featuring Toyah performing the Rolling Stones classic, "Sympathy For The Devil".
On a recent episode of Rob Squad And The Creators featuring Robert Fripp and Toyah Willcox is available for streaming below. During the episode with Rob Squad’s Jay + Amber Robinson, Fripp and Willcox react along with the hosts to their live rendition of Metallica's "Enter Sandman".
On playing with her husband, Toyah comments: "I also love seeing my husband on stage. It's such a joy because normally we're on different continents. To be on stage together, it's an absolute joy!"
On Fripp’s connection to Metallica, Fripp added: “To link this song with (King Crimson's) "Frame by Frame," which we went through a little while ago (NOTE: reference to an earlier episode of Rob Squad and the Creators). I read an interview where Kirk Hammett of Metallica said how much he enjoyed the double guitar parts of Adrian (Belew) and Robert on the Discipline album and "Frame by Frame."
On who he listens to and who influenced him, Fripp says: "Well, Hendrix, Clapton, Beck, McLaughlin, Page, and Chuck Berry. In the early days, Scotty Moore, Elvis's player, Little Richard. The sheer power of that man was astonishing."

Ivy Gardens, the grunge powerhouse from Niagara, Canada, stands as a testament to complete collaboration and total honesty. Formed on Ivy Gardens Crescent, the band's journey began with a shared passion for crafting music that resonates with sonic belligerence and intensity. They have recently released their album Goon and have a supporting tour coming up quickly.
In the meantime, they are dropping a new music video for the single “Stoic”, premiered exclusively through BraveWords, which they comment on:
“‘Stoic’ is our most lyrically packed song on the album as well as rhythmically unique. Bouncing between hard-hitting dirges, biting riffs, and quick, jumping rhythms, the song explores the perspective of someone with a lot of self-destructive behavior, who still manages to find peace through it. The titular Stoic, while seemingly devoted to his philosophy, uses it more as a tool, and even an excuse.”
Every song on Goon is a result of complete collaboration, with each member contributing to the skeleton of a song. Within, listeners will be met with the grooves of stoner metal, the crushing nature of sludge, the muscular energy of nu metal, and the attitude of good ol' fashioned doom.

Brace yourselves for a full-throttle sonic onslaught from the newly reunited and souped-up horror punk hot rods, Mourning Noise! Founded and powered by legendary drummer Steve Zing, of Samhain and Danzig fame, Mourning Noise carried the torch of Misfits-styled gothic horrorcore in the early ‘80s before taking a somewhat less than brief hiatus in 1984. But now, 40 years later, the band is pulling itself out of the garage and revving its engine once again as original bassist Chris Morance and original lead guitarist Tommy Koprowski are joined by new guitarist/lead vocalist Robby Bloodshed for a brand new studio album set for release on June 7.
The band previewed its newly renovated model on 2022’s EP At The Seville, which showcased a much more muscular, high performance, super-charged sound that expanded on their early dark rock beginnings.
