"We Are Twisted F*cking Sister!", a movie about TWISTED SISTER's club days by German filmmaker Andrew Horn, in nearing completion.

Horn took to the crowdfunding site Indiegogo last year to help raise the $150,000 he has projected it will take for the film to receive a full release.

In a videotaped message posted at Horn's YouTube channel, TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider said Horn got at the heart of the band's "'Rocky'-esque story of a band of brothers from the New York area who toughed it out for nearly a decade before finding fame and fortune." The singer went on to describe the end result as "for people who are original fans, hardcore fans, true fans — or want to know more about this band."

He added: "This is independently done, which is the way a documentary of this kind should be [and not like other rock documentaries where the] band puts together … a piece of propaganda to make [themselves] look good."

TWISTED SISTER, which reunited in 2001, performs about 12 shows a year, including festivals around the world, holiday-themed performances and occasional local concerts. It has released several live CDs and DVDs over the past decade but has no intention of recording new material.

"We don't tour regularly and I don't see any reason to [make a new record]," guitarist Jay Jay French told NorthJersey.com. "If I told you we were going to play new songs and take some classics out of the set, you'd kill me."

Massachusetts metallers UNEARTH will release their sixth album, "Watchers Of Rule", on October 28 via via eOne Music in North America and Century Media in Europe. The CD, which will feature a guest appearance on bass by LAMB OF GOD's Mark Morton, was mixed by Mark Lewis, who has previously worked with CANNIBAL CORPSE, WHITECHAPEL and DEVILDRIVER, among others.

UNEARTH will team up with DARKEST HOUR for the "Hell Or High Wattage Tour", with support from CARNIFEX, ORIGIN, I BREATHER and BLACK CROWN INITIATE.

UNEARTH's last CD, "Darkness In The Light", sold 6,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 72 on The Billboard 200 chart.

The band's 2008 effort, "The March", opened with around 11,000 units to land at No. 45.

MR. BIG recently announced that Pat Torpey has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. The diagnosis has left him unable to perform his normal drumming duties on the band's upcoming world tour. He did complete all of the drumming on "…The Stories We Could Tell", but, unfortunately, touring will be too difficult for him at the present time. Filling in for him will be Matt Starr, who is the current drummer for original KISS drummer Ace Frehley. MR. BIG expects Torpey to jump on the drums on suitable live songs as well as participate in the group's acoustic set.

MR. BIG's last album, "What If…", was the band's first "all-original" album since the reunion of the four original members back in early 2009.

Formed in 1988, MR. BIG forged its place in hard rock history by combining trademark "shredding" musicianship with awesome vocal harmonies. The original lineup produced numerous hit songs that ranged across a wide array of rock genres, be it ballads, heavy metal, or blues rock. San Francisco Bay Area thrash metal veterans EXODUS will release their tenth studio album, "Blood In Blood Out", in North America on October 14 via Nuclear Blast. The album art was illustrated by Swedish artist Pär Olofsson, known worldwide for his incredible renderings that have graced the covers of countless heavy metal albums, including EXODUS' "Let There Be Blood".

Crafting an industrial sound bed on the intro to the album opener "Black 13" is electronic music producer Dan the Automator (GORILLAZ, MIKE PATTON, DELTRON 3030). "[Dan and I] ran into each other a couple times," shares EXODUS guitarist and songwriter Gary Holt. "I knew what I wanted to hear and I knew he could do it, and could do it that day. So we sent him a file with the drums and guitars we already had there and just told him to go crazy with it." TESTAMENT frontman Chuck Billy lends his signature roar to the track "BTK", one of the first songs recorded by returning vocalist Steve "Zetro" Souza, who recently said: "Chuck and I have known each other forever. We work really well together; we know each other really well. So if I'm doing my vocals and he's there, I can trust him to go, 'No way, Zet, [it] doesn't sound good like that. Do it like this,' or, 'Yeah, that's killer.' If he says it sounds killer, I know it is." Original EXODUS guitarist Kirk Hammett, who has been a member of METALLICA for the past 31 years, contributed a solo to "Salt The Wound", which can be streamed in the YouTube clip below. "This was actually the first time Kirk got to play on an official EXODUS release," states Holt. "He did the early demo, and then joined METALLICA and didn't do anything with us after that. So he was totally gung-ho about it. He came down and ripped out a bunch of takes and we picked the best one and then had a barbecue and drank beer."

"It felt really casual, really cool — just like it did back in 1980 when we were all just hanging out back in the day," Hammett told RollingStone.com. "Me, recording a solo on their album was a huge thing for me. Other than the EXODUS demo that's been heard by a lot of people, it's the only time I ever recorded with EXODUS. It was a huge thing for me."

He added: "I play a pretty cool solo, and then Gary comes in and plays another solo, and you know what? I listened to that and thought, 'Wow, it's 1982 all over again and here we are, Gary and I are trying to cut each other's heads off with our guitar solos.' Nothing has changed much in the last 30 years. I love it. I love those guys. I've only known them for most of my life, so I'm really happy that I finally got to record with them."

"Blood In Blood Out" is EXODUS' first album since the departure of the band's lead singer of the past nine years, Rob Dukes, and the return of his predecessor, Steve "Zetro" Souza, who previously fronted EXODUS from 1986 to 1993 and from 2002 to 2004.

Asked what EXODUS is doing differently on "Blood In Blood Out" compared to the band's previous efforts, Souza said: "I just think it's way more brutal now. I think if you look at the production value in the albums, from 'Bonded By Blood' [1985] and even 'Impact Is Imminent' [1990] and now you look at them, from 'Tempo Of The Damned' [2004] and then 'Shovel Headed Kill Machine' [2005] and 'The Atrocity Exhibition... Exhibit A' [2007] and 'Exhibit B: The Human Condition' [2010] and now to 'Blood In, Blood Out', I just think the maturity level and knowing what you wanna sound like and knowing what you're going for and knowing what you do well. Not trying to second-guess yourself and go, 'Oh, we've gotta do this because of this.' It's not like that anymore. Now it's all about, 'Hey, we're EXODUS. We've been EXODUS for 30 years. And let's just be EXODUS.'"

Hammett was a member of EXODUS' original lineup before replacing Dave Mustaine in METALLICA in 1983. In fact, Hammett was not only the person who came up with the EXODUS name, but also the first from the band to meet original EXODUS singer Paul Baloff and brought him into the group.

Dukes joined EXODUS in January 2005 and appeared on four of the band's studio albums — "Shovel Headed Kill Machine" (2005), "The Atrocity Exhibition... British heavy metal legends SATAN will release a live album in October to celebrate their live debut appearances earlier this year on the North American soil in support of their latest and very succesful album "Life Sentence", released on Listenable in April 2013. SATAN's latest album, "Life Sentence", was released on April 29, 2013 in Europe and May 21, 2013 in the U.S. via Listenable Records. The cover artwork for the effort was drawn by Eliran Kantor (TESTAMENT, HATEBREED, SODOM) and depicts a similar graphic concept as that of the band's debut album, "Court In The Act", originally issued 30 years ago.

"Life Sentence" was mixed by Dario Mollo, who is part of TONY MARTIN'S HEADLESS CROSS touring project and has worked with numerous artists as a producer and engineer, including SKYCLAD, ANATHEMA, CRADLE OF FILTH, LACUNA COIL, Tony Martin and Glenn Hughes. The CD was recorded September-November 2012 at First Avenue Studios in Newcastle, England and was mixed and mastered by Mollo at Damage Inc. Studio in Italy. The songs deal with the following topics: injustice, impending death, reincarnation, atonement, third-world politics, and biblical retribution.

"Life Sentence" is the culmination of a process that began when the original "Court In The Act" lineup got together for an exclusive "one-off" reunion show at Germany's Keep It True festival in 2011 in what marked their first performance together in 28 years.

SATAN is one of the most important groups that emerged in the early NWOBHM era. Their unique mixture of heavy and power metal spirit with thrash riffage brought a handful of unforgettable tunes and revolutionized heavy music as we know it.

"Court in the Act" was SATAN's debut release and was considered a true milestone at the time of its release (1983). The songs were melodic, but at the same time very aggressive. The band's two guitarists, Russ Tippins and Steve Ramsey, delivered a truly amazing performance; although their styles were completely different, they managed to perfectly complement each other's playing and introduced a handful of timeless riffs and solos.

"Heart Of Fire", the new single from Los Angeles theatrical rockers BLACK VEIL BRIDES, was premiered on tonight's (Monday, September 8) edition of BBC Radio 1's "Rock Show" with Daniel P. Carter. The song is described in a press release as "an upbeat rocker that showcases the band's singnature dual-guitar attack and driving rhythm section all behind a positiive lyrical message the band has become known for."

"Heart Of Fire" is taken from BLACK VEIL BRIDES' new self-titled album, also known as "IV", which will be released on October 28. The follow-up to the group's third CD, last year's "Wretched And Divine: The Story Of The Wild Ones", was helmed by producer Bob Rock, whose resume includes albums by METALLICA, MÖTLEY CRÜE, THE CULT and many others. The 11-track album features some of BLACK VEIL BRIDES' most aggressive and diverse songs to date.

Asked how BLACK VEIL BRIDES approached the writing process for the new CD, BLACK VEIL BRIDES singer Andy Biersack told U.K.'s Rock Sound: "One of the most interesting things about working with Bob Rock this time was that he requires weeks and weeks of pre-production, just writing and jamming together.

"I knew that the guys in my band are very talented musicians, but we've never taken the time to sit in a room facing each other, and continuously write for weeks on end — there was just a small mic in the middle of the room, and Bob would orchestrate us. If something came up that we liked, we'd try to cut a demo of it just from that. The idea is that if you write all together, you'll find great material, and know it from the ground up.

"When you're doing stuff the way we were previously, it's very difficult to go back and adjust, because the elements are all built simultaneously. This has given us a chance to do something organic, to know the songs a lot better. So heading into the studio, with twelve or fifteen songs that we feel strongly about, is a new experience. Through writing in advance, I feel like we've found our definitive sound. It's a lot more heavy, traditional rock 'n' roll than anything we've done before."

Regarding whether that was the band's aim from the start, Beirsack said: "More than anything, even before we found out that Bob was interested in doing it, we wanted to make a return to the darker, heavier material — in tone at least. We touched on that with the first record, but weren't as mature songwriters back then; I don't think we've ever truly executed the sound we've wanted to have as a band.

"We've always evolved, and I've always been excited about everything we've done, but this was something all of us have wanted to do.

"If we'd have been as good songwriters five years ago, the record we would have made then would have sounded a lot like this new one. That was an exciting notion, going back to the things we talked about when starting the band together. It's a return to the things we really love. Bob was a great fit for that. So many of the records that influenced us or that we loved growing up were produced by him. It was something we'd been talking about for the last year, and when we found out Bob was interested, it was a nice coincidence."

Asked if Bob played a role in the songwriting process, Biersack said: "We've picked up a lot of things about the songwriting process from him, how to really structure a song.

"There's no way this record won't be fantastic to me. I feel like through doing this, I've learned so much about what it is what we do, what we've been trying to do for the last half-decade. It helped that Bob is one of the sweetest, easiest to work with, most insightful people I've ever met. When you talk about nice people: he's a Canadian who lives in Hawaii. [laughs] I can't imagine anyone with a nicer disposition, let alone someone so talented."

"Wretched And Divine: The Story Of The Wild Ones" came out in January 2013 and featured the Top 15 rock radio single "In The End".

Long-running black metal veterans, Varathron, will release a brand new album, entitled Untrodden Corridors Of Hades on November 21st in Europe and December 9th in rest of the world. The cover of their first full-length since 2009's Stygian Forces Of Scorn has been created by Mark Riddick (Arsis, Absu, Mystifier, Nun Slaughter, The Black Dahlia Murder) and can be seen below. The Greece-based band consists of Stefan Necroabyssious (vocals), Achilleas C (guitars), Sotiris (guitars), Stratos (bass) as well as Haris (drums) and has been active on the stage since 1989. Band's early albums are considered to be the cornerstones of the Hellenic black metal scene, alongside the releases of Necromantia and Rotting Christ, with whom the group shared members as well as similar fascination towards early style. Varathron's trademark are mid-paced riffs that have a classic, old-school feel strengthened by a progressive view, as well as epic atmosphere that only few can match.

Untrodden Corridors Of Hades was recorded, mixed and engineered by Kostas Kalampokas at Infinite Loop Music Studio, Greece and mastered by Tom Kvålsvoll at Strype Audio (1349, Arcturus, Darkthrone, Emperor, Code, Ulver) in Norway.

An EXODUS fan in Greenville, Kentucky was arrested for "terroristic threats" after posting the lyrics to the band's song "Class Dismissed".

31-year-old James Evans posted the following on Facebook on August 24: "Student bodies lying dead in the halls, a blood splattered treatise of hate. Class dismissed is my hypothesis, gun fire ends in debate."

According to 14News.com, multiple agencies received calls concerned about the post, resulting in Evans' arrest.

The warrant said Evans was arrested because, "he threatened to kill students and or staff at school."

EXODUS' management has released a statement explaining that "the band does not promote or condone terrorists, threats or bullying. That being said, the band is somewhat baffled by the fact that this man being charged for what seems against his first amendment rights of Freedom Of Speech."

Said EXODUS guitarist Gary Holt: "The idea that an individual in this great country of ours could be arrested for simply posting lyrics to a song is something I never believed could happen in a free society. James Evans was simply posting lyrics to a band he likes on Facebook, and he was locked up for it.

"The song 'Class Dismissed (A Hate Primer)' was written as a view through the eyes of a madman and in no way endorses that kind of fucked up behavior. It was the Virginia Tech massacre perpetrated by Seung-Hui Cho that was the subject and inspiration to write the song, one in which we put the brakes on playing it live after the Sandy Hook shooting, as we did not want to seem insensitive." Gary continued: "As some of us in EXODUS are parents, of course these things hit close to home; it's every parent's worst fear. These moments are the stuff of nightmares, and life, as well as music, isn't always pretty. But when we start to overreact to things like lyrics by any band, including EXODUS, and start arresting people, we are caving in to paranoia and are well on our way to becoming an Orwellian society."

James' sister, Ashelynn, told 14News.com that while she doesn't agree with the song lyrics, she doesn't think her brother should have been arrested.

"Whenever we found out that he actually got arrested for lyrics, we were all shocked," said Ashelynn. "We couldn't believe that you could do that or get in trouble for that. I don't personally agree with the band or the music but I agree that you should have the choice to listen to it if you want to."

According to The Pulse Of Radio, NINE INCH NAILS mainman Trent Reznor told The Wall Street Journal that director David Fincher asked him to "think about the really terrible music you hear in massage parlors" when writing the score for the new movie "Gone Girl". Fincher corrected him, interjecting, "I said a spa, not a massage parlor!" Reznor added that music at a spa "artificially tries to make you feel like everything's OK… Imagine that sound starting to curdle and unravel."

Fincher elaborated, "The movie is about the facade of the good neighbor, the good Christian, the good wife. So the notion was to start with music that's attempting to give you a hug."

Reznor told The Pulse Of Radio that writing music for films has not been that difficult since he thinks in visual terms when writing songs as well. "That idea of starting in a visual place has made it kind of easy — I find it hasn't been that much of a struggle to start to think in terms of scoring for picture, because now I have the picture to see instead of me creating it in my head and it's not that far of a stretch in terms of the strategy working here."

Reznor, who co-wrote the score with Atticus Ross, recorded the music for the first time with a live orchestra.

"Gone Girl" is the third Fincher film that Reznor and Ross have composed the score for, following their Oscar-winning work on "The Social Network" and Golden Globe-nominated score for "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo".

"Gone Girl" stars Ben Affleck, Neil Patrick Harris and Rosamund Pike and opens on October 3.

NINE INCH NAILS just finished a co-headlining summer tour with SOUNDGARDEN.

Mitch Harris of NAPALM DEATH joined KREATOR onstage on September 6 at the Gohelle Fest in France to sing the KREATOR song "Riot Of Violence". Fan-filmed video footage of his appearance can be seen below.

NAPALM DEATH recorded a version of "Riot Of Violence" for the "Leaders Not Followers 2" collection of covers, which was released in 2004 through NAPALM DEATH's own Feto label.

NAPALM DEATH recently spent time at at Parlour Studios in Kettering, England with producer Russ Russell recording the follow-up to 2012's "Utilitarian" for an early 2015 release via Century Media Records.

The band performed a brand new song, "Dear Slum Landlord", on April 10 at the Roadburn festival in Tilburg, The Netherlands.

"Utilitarian" sold around 2,200 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The CD debuted at No. 14 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

KREATOR will support Swedish / American / Canadian metallers ARCH ENEMY on a North American tour this October/November. Also appearing on the bill will be HUNTRESS and STARKILL.

KREATOR's new concert DVD/Blu-ray, "Dying Alive", entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 9.

"Dying Alive" was released on August 30, 2013 via Nuclear Blast. The set features the band's sold-out homecoming show in Oberhausen, Germany on December 22, 2012 after an extensive 45-day European tour in support of KREATOR's "Phantom Antichrist" album. The packed and sweat-driven show was filmed by 24 cameras, as well as guitar and even mosh-pit cams.

Nightwish are currently working on their new album. The yet-untitled creation will be the first Nightwish studio-record to feature Dutch vocalist Floor Jansen. It’s set for a release in spring 2015 via Nuclear Blast. They have checked in with the following update:

"The recording of the album is going great. Today we can announce that all rhythm and lead guitars are now recorded! Missing just a couple of solos, to be recorded after the vocals (hard to shred with that mutant right hand, anyway…). Truly fantastic job, Emppu! On to keyboards and vocals next."

Nightwish recently uploaded the third album trailer. In this “making-of” episode, Nightwish give insight on the song writing process.

Commented keyboardist and main composer Tuomas Holopainen: “When I come up with a subject for the song, I always see it as a short movie. Each song is like a soundtrack for that movie in my head... it takes at least 12-18 month to write an album.”

CORROSION OF CONFORMITY drummer Reed Mullin will undergo surgery this morning to fix his "massive full thickness tear of the supraspinatus with retraction of the tendon to the glenoid — a large joint effusion." He writes on Facebook: "Wish me luck!"

As a result of his torn rotator cuff, Mullin was forced to sit out some of CORROSION OF CONFORMITY's recent live dates. Filling in for him was Eric Hernandez, formerly of KYLESA. CORROSION OF CONFORMITY explained: "Eric came to our attention when we approached Rick Smith of TORCHE about filling in and he recommended Eric, who he grew up with in Miami. Eric has also filled in for Ricky in TORCHE a few times with great results. He is, like Reed, a hard hitter, and thankfully possesses the capacity to learn and digest detailed material quickly and accurately." CORROSION OF CONFORMITY's two-week North American run kicked off on August 20 in Spokane and came to a close on September 1 in Vancouver. The band was joined by BL'AST!, BRANT BJORK & THE LOW DESERT PUNK BAND and LORD DYING.

Mullin sat behind the kit for CORROSION OF CONFORMITY for the most recent batch of dates. He explained in an interview that he gave during the tour: "I was, like, 'Goddamn, this is going to be fun, and if I stay at home, I'm just going to be sitting at home hating life, [so I] might as well be out here having fun. Fuck it. It's going to hurt either way.'"

CORROSION OF CONFORMITY's new album, "IX", was released on July 1 via Candlelight. The CD was produced by the band and longtime comrade John Custer.

Finnish heavy metal monsters LORDI will release their seventh studio album, "Scare Force One", on October 31 via AFM. A digital single, "Nailed By The Hammer Of Frankenstein", will precede the full-length effort on September 19.

The first "Scare Force One" edition comes as a digipak. The effort will also be released as a limited (orange) vinyl edition (500 copies worldwide only) and as a box set.
