It has become a tradition that an apocalyptic storm in the shape of a hydra called OBSCENE EXTREME FESTIVAL blows over Krkonoše foothills anually on the 2nd weekend in July. This year it will not be different. Maniacs from the most far-flung parts of the world will occupy their positions on the Trutnov Bojiště (Battlefield – a better place is hardly to be found) for the tenth time already to celebrate the unique fest of the most extreme musical forms under the uncompromising fire of fifty bands from twenty one countries of five continents. Sorry we have not been successful to persuade grinders from Antartica - but maybe next year ..... who knows?
This year again the blood will be spilt at the Bojiště venue! The crazy night body – piercing HELL show right from the entrails of inferno will persuade you about the fact that pain is beautiful and there is no doubt there will be more bloodshed this year than ever. We all sure know the OEF has its 10. anniversary this year. That is why HELL Show is going to be very special. It will not be anything trivial but a real Freak theatre with a significant name „The House of Horror - Made in Hell“!!! Five acts of the most terrifying nightmares and well-known stories of pain and suffering will culminate into a singular final!!!
However, it will not be the end of Thursday night. The start show will be done by our well-proven DJ Dejvy who will sweeten the beginning of the programme for you with an exclusive extreme music fire. Then there will be two horror cabaret shows and then the premiere of the acoustic programme of the Chicago legend MACABRE – yes, two blokes with acoustic guitars will sing you as it was the case in the Middle Ages a couple of songs about ...... about what? Well, of course about the mass murderers!!! Europe will be the first to see this show at all and we can be glad to enjoy that directly at Obscene Extreme festival!!! Our show will go on merrily with piercing, hanging, raping, bleeding, maiming etc. Simply, you can await just joyful things.....
Let us present not only this years`s OEF through the eyes of an old OEF supporter Pivorgh who is going to introduce you some of the bands a bit nearer:
5000 people and 50 bands, loads of beer and some pissing from heaven. So, the show will be a hammer!!! …and try to arrive on Thursday, you lazy bastards. There will be HELL performing on the stage meaning some more shrapnell under the skin!!! Kast mime they threw a piggy on a hook into a mincer and this year YOU will be be impaled on the hook!!! They will just catch someone gaping there and impale him like a swine and ram a scaffolding pipe into his ass. Enter on your own balls. The one who is going to be hung by them in the air should not complain then. Hahahaaaaa!!! HELL are great and their show is filled not only with metal but mainly with prank, fun, well chosen music and diverse souce around!!! Well, now what cruel bands are there on the list? Not much talking about is necessary. One smasher after another. So, entirely randomly and with no logic:
Who is going to be the fastest one this year? It is important. The speed is appreciated but it can also be deceptive taking the speed of blasts in bpm into account (beats per minute or what). ANAL PENETRATION is fast enough with his robotic drummer . It is a onepig show. He programmed the automat even faster than e.g. another onepig lunatic called PUTRID PILE. One man show is simply a great invention. Sometimes I do not know why bands have two guitars when playing the same, why two singers like twins messing around and shouting the same etc. .... Well, a rumpus can be done by a single man too. However, a live drummer I do not know... PYORRHOEA, deathmetal, they have quite fast pieces. Also another death band, BENIGHTED, have fast pieces but they are few and short. It will be a big fight for the fastest mosh. Honestly, I have no idea.
Maybe the highest rate of blasts have ISACAARUM though played at a slower dance pace. COCK AND BALL TORTURE will be the slowest ones for sure. They are even slower than Katapult. Their gore mosh will make a whore out of each female, a classical wedding dance group. They know how to make people move their ass. But put Spanish condoms on. It is going to hurt. The deviants of all kind will enjoy e.g. GONORRHEA PUSSY and FUCKSAW. Those are perverted as fuck with gore grind tuned pretty down like a scrotum of a guy with elephantiasis. FUCKSAW have such a terrible automat, funny samples. It is a fun full of porno. Nothing for those who care about the playing technique. Those on the other hand should not miss DESECRATION e.g. I like them best from all the deathmetal. Sorry I do not write much about the death metal bands but I am extremely choosy in this style. If not Cryptopsy I am not very interested. I have to see it live first to evaluate. Anyway, all the death metal bands will be technically on a high level, no shit and there will be a lot of them there. Brutal death lovers will have their own back like me.
ASS TO MOUTH have the best and truly stylish grunt. Fuck, the singer has a squeak like a pig. He rules. But guess who are going to be the funniest ones? This year it is clear. EXCREMENTORY GRINDFUCKERS!!! They have discovered the big secret of music that each style is grind in principle and everything goes towards grind. The good thing is that they do quite well caricature the original. Mainly the singing. The composition of the songs is however quite grindlike, haha. They make fun of e.g. Korn, Europe, Bee Gees, 2Unlimited and many others. They have done a good job, the boys. Especially the Germans who know most of the originals must enjoy that. Those who have heard them know what I mean. Those who have not will have to move their lazy asses to the Bojiště!!! What else? You cannot write about everything. Yes, FLAGITIOUS IDIOSYNCRASY IN THE DILAPIDATION is finally a proper girls`s grind band. I just wonder why there is not more of them. The grind core scene looks too gay then. So, girls, show us you can compose a symphony and do a nuclear fission! They are Japanese too, nice Japanese. I do not know just if I should invite them for a date with candles, pour some charodonnay down their throats, take them for a journey around the world in a luxurious Cadillac and have a passionate sex with them on a Hawaiian beach next to my residence... RETH is a big crowd-puller in my opinion. If you know ZUBROWSKA you know what it is about. Mix of brutal death, grind and psychedelic The Doors, hehe, but it is a mosh with a strange song composition. It is not emo. That is why you can leave the razor blades at home. RETH can be recommended to those who love something atypical. Another atypical band is LE SCRAWL. They are popular currently as ska is popular. Honestly it is more ska than grind – good idea but the interpretation seems to me a bit languid. Maybe they have created a new style and we just do not realise that and they will be a legend one day like DEATH in death metal. Decidedly crazy and original enough. We will see. They might have new songs and we will ska properly, won`t we? Now SAKATAT from Turkey. I stand gaping. Čurby has his tentacles everywhere. The time has come to invite finally the band from Antarctica – Nunatak. It does exist but producing a boring rock. However, they have a suspiciously similar name. SAKATAT are just good as they originated in a land where it can be quite a problem to play such a mosh. The scene over there is not much varied either. I wonder how it is to play grind over there. I must talk to them. SPLITTER will be one of the most unrestrained bands for sure, yelling like a swine, blasting like lunatics. They resemble Nasum a little and at that time playing at Obscene it was a terrific show. It is an immaculate mosh!
Regarding Czech bands except for the biggest one - ISACAARUM, the next one you can be looking forward to is GRIDE. Splendid and experienced gridecore (it is not a cliched grind but rather metalcore or something). The fact is that in spite of all the total massacres we will see at OEF ISACAARUM are a top band for me!!! ABORTION from our eastern brothers from Slovakia who are approaching their 20th anniversary are the band I am very much looking forward to see. They do not shout muddafakka at you as the other fuckers. They are easy and friendly and I like them. I nominate them for a band with the most approachable attitude.
And the greatest headliners? Loads of them. Taking into account the number of listeners (quality too of course) the biggest smasher is MACABRE from US. The right music for punkers, metalists, bikers, surfers, folk music lovers and mass murderers. Many people will come just because of them. I know also such guys who are not into grind that much and I could never get them to come to OEF. However, MACABRE will make it. There is not much of that kind of music revelling in jokes and ideas. Even they might have too straight forward compositions sometimes in my opinion like verse, refrain, verse, ref, verse, ref etc. they do not put chaotic passages together and gain from their ideas, texts, miscellaneous styles, playing technique and extra deviant vocal. They have a clear theme which is everything about mass murderers. Simply MACABRE is the headliner as there is nothing similar in the whole world. Go, murder metal, go!!! They willeven perform as MACABRE MINSTRELS which is an acoustic set. I am very curious . The song Mary Bell e.g. is a great one (they played that in 2003 live at OEF). It will be something of that kind. Also IMPALED
NAZARENE will yell for us. I hope they will be totally pissed as the rumour is. I have heard the music many times I want to see legends hahaha. Such a mixture of bikers`s music, punk and blackmetal is rare. They have an original style and have had it for years which is appreciated. Now AGATHOCLES. They are great. I would immortalize these pioneers of anti-fur mincecore in the hall of fame of the divine king Charles and the great Agathocles, tyrant of Syracuse. The only thing I miss is the two biggest hits Jack´s Life and Enough live. Maybe this year. I guess I cannot be surprised more at this year`s OEF... perhaps only a performance of VAGINAL TUMOUR what was a project of Čurby and Bilos. Čurby admitted however that this project never had a proper perspective. That is why we can listen to MALIGNANT TUMOUR... Great band too. They will be a nice rocknroll diversification having in mind all the mosh.
EXTREME NOISE TERROR are another band of the highest rank!!! The big, basic stone of crust is coming back to show us how to play a proper aggressive hardcore, crustcore, extremenoisecore. I would not miss also REGURGITATE or DEAD. A legend after another.
Hammer, mosh, massacre as fuck, bestiality, hyperultrabrutality, extreme noise, roar, buzz!!! This will smash the whole hills and maybe also the lady that lives next to the venue which was totally crushed after her antiobscene article in an internet newspapers by the fans`s arguments. Čurby is the high priest of obscenity. He has cooked a pretty thick mash this year for us!!!
Look, it is not possible to write about everybody. Main thing is there will be no bad band there. Simply, hell on earth starting each half an hour. Check myspace.com/obsceneextreme, obsceneextreme.cz, and HELL.cz. This year`s obscene is a must. The Obscene has been an unrivalled fest for the last decade and this year it is loaded with bands as never before. There will be as usually distros, camp, ToiTois and vegan food which is extremely good. I will mainly eat my cheap roll with an out of date cheese as I am very edacious homeless and I have an unstoppable hunger time from time. I would be able to eat all my money as fuck. Do not do that like me. I recommend you to try at least though you are not vegans. You will see that it does not mean just eating disgusting roots. The vegan food is really very good at OEF. The same as the stage without any barriers. You will not find that anywhere else – Stagedive or dieee!!! The security guys are people as Vlakin from INGROWING, or Bilos from VAGINAL/MALIGNANT TUMOUR. No blockheads. Another big advantage. I really do not envy them the dilemma how to deal with someone who moves around on the stage totally pissed, gaping and pouring beer. The only solution is a brute force again. I want to see the guitarists banging their heads and not a dumb bloke standing in my light. Do behave almost like humans or next time there will be HELL members doing the security. You sure know what they will be glad to do to you... Another great thing is that it is my eighth time and I feel like I know 1000 people from the most far-flung parts of the globe by their face or underwear. Just like at home. Fuck – bands, atmosphere, people, pigs, lunatics, trying to get into a girls` tent, nice blowjob. Are you looking forward to like me?

This year`s festival will come through several organisational changes compared to previous years. First of all a new camp will be ready for you. Yes, the place for tents had been increasing every year but this year even more is going to change. You always wanted to park and put up the tent behind the car which we absolutely understand. We were trying to do something about that and finally this year we succeeded to secure also the nearby venue. That is why you will be able to park and put your tent up behind the car and get straight into the festival venue through a new gate! The whole large camp will be joined to the fest venue from the right if you are standing with your back to the old entrance gate. There will be a new gate so that you can get from and into the camp as easy as possible. This costs something and I hope you understand that the fee for one car for the whole weekend will be 150,- Kč.
Another new thing will be (especially for grind metrosexuals) showers for a symbolic fee of 20,- CZK about 400m away from the site.
The whole production will be this year again accompanied by videoprojection along both sides of the stage starting from the evening. Everybody knows Silence Sucks and that is why the projection will be available in the beer tent too!!! The ruthless brutal massage will be what stays unchanged for sure!
A camp for free is available as every year for the fest visitors from Thursday to Sunday. Entirely vegetarian/vegan food is as traditional as Gambrinus beer from Pilsen as an official beer of the festival. Also Pilsner Urquell is ready for the experts.
A huge Metalcore Market will be an essential part again located in the lower part of the site.
The ticket price is 700,- CZK for all three days until 1st of July; it will be 800,-CZK on site and of course including festival CD OEF 2008 you get right at the entrance.
OBSCENE EXTREME is a fest for lovers of extreme music and for great meetings of friends. It is an international megaparty for fans from all over the world. We believe to fulfill the motto of the fest: MAD – FRIENDLY – EXTREME!!!
Do not take any bottles or any glass, sharp objects, any guns, dogs but take your children with you on the other hand if you own some. It is necessary to bring up a new generation of grinders. Maniacs up to the age of 12 have a free entry!

Yes, as every year OEF has perepared an after show party. It will start on Sunday 13th July in the Exit Chmelnice Club in Prague. The grind speedies SPLITTER from Sweden will play for you just to listen to or even to dance, their countrymen DEMONICAL will bring an unbelievably dark old school death metal, DISTURBANCE PROJECT from Spain will play the fast grind tunes and you will again have the opportunity to see the British deathers DEAD BEYOND BURIED!!! The start is at 20.00 and the entrance fee should be 150,- Kč that will be split among the performing bands!!!
