The release date of the Trauma album Rapture And Wrath on vinyl is April 24th on Pure Steel Records. The limited vinyl edition consists 200 pieces (black) and printed insert. The preorder phase will start on April 10th in the Pure Steel webshop.

Trauma should be known to quite a few heavy metal-enthusiasts out there through their contribution to the Metal Massacre sampler and the release of their 1984 debut album, Scratch And Scream. The late, great Cliff Burton (Metallica) played bass on their first demo recording.

After the CD release in February follows the album Rapture And Wrath in a limited edition of 200 black copies with printed insert on vinyl.

California's Saviours continue to forge ahead with towering riffs, colossal rhythm, monumental guitar harmonies and an obsession with the end of times, the occult, psychedelics and arcane. Still building upon the foundations laid by Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Thin Lizzy and Motörhead, Saviours enter their second decade in a new partnership with French label Listenable Records, preparing a new album for a 2015 release.

The band have issued the following new album update: “At this point we'll say that this new Saviours album going to be a bit darker in theme and sound than the last. It's more pissed off and aggressive but still heavy as hell and full of guitar harmonies and solos. Singer Tim "Ripper" Owens (JUDAS PRIEST, ICED EARTH, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) and Marzi Montazeri (PHILIP H. ANSELMO & THE ILLEGALS) are writing and recording music for the fictional band WITCHES' LIPS portrayed in the movie "Hairmetal Shotgun Zombie Massacre". They have four original songs done so far and it's described as "some of the heaviest, most kick-ass music that they've ever done."

Directed by Joshua Allan Vargas, who has worked on music videos for DOWN, SOIL, PHILIP H. ANSELMO & THE ILLEGALS and WARBEAST, the film is about a hair metal band that, while struggling to find its own identity, decides to record its first full-length album is a creepy cabin located in the middle of a notorious cemetery. Chock full of weed, coke, and booze, the band discovers a secret in the cellar and unwittingly open a gate that allows demons to possess the corpses in the surrounding cemetery. Forced to have to survive the night and with the odds getting slimmer, the band must battle hordes of the demonic undead and hope to get a record deal somewhere in the process.

Written by Joshua Allan Vargas and Jvstin Whitney, based on a story by Jvstin Whitney, "Hairmetal Shotgun Zombie Massacre: The Movie" will feature cameos by Tom Araya (SLAYER), Randy Blythe (LAMB OF GOD) and David Vincent (MORBID ANGEL).

SIXX: A.M., the band featuring MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx alongside guitarist DJ Ashba and vocalist James Michael, has hired drummer Dustin Steinke of the Canadian rock band BLEEKER RIDGE to sit behind the kit for SIXX: A.M.'s upcoming U.S. tour, which is scheduled to kick off in early April.

Based in Orillia, Ontario, BLEEKER RIDGE was previously signed to the Canadian branch of Roadrunner Records and recently completed work on a new album with Michael at the production helm, due later in the year via the Eleven Seven label.

Steinke made his live debut with SIXX: A.M. on February 19 at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, Japan as part of Vampark Fest hosted by the rock band VAMPS.

SIXX: A.M.'s third album, "Modern Vintage", was released on October 7, 2014 via Eleven Seven Music. That same night, SIXX: A.M. played its first full live show since 2009 with the help of drummer Jeff Fabb (IN THIS MOMENT, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, FILTER), who also appeared on "Modern Vintage".

MOTÖRHEAD is currently in the studio with longtime producer Cameron Webb working on the band's upcoming album, due out this fall. The revered trio will support the FOO FIGHTERS on tour this July in Japan and Korea (including a stop at the longest-standing music fest in Japan, the Fuji Rock festival on July 24, and the Ansan Valley Rock Festival in South Korea on July 26) in addition to planning a U.S. tour in late summer 2015. Additionally, the band will set sail on the MOTÖRHEAD Motörboat cruise in late September. MOTÖRHEAD's song "Heartbreaker" was nominated in the "Best Metal Performance" category at this year's Grammy Awards.

MOTÖRHEAD frontman Lemmy Kilmister, 69, in 2013 suffered a haematoma (where blood collects outside of a blood vessel), causing the cancelation of a number of the band's European festival shows. He was also reportedly fitted with a defibrillator because of heart problems.

The reissue of MOTÖRHEAD's 21st studio album, "Aftershock", was made available on August 26, 2014 via UDR/Motörhead Music. The CD was helmed by longtime producer Cameron Webb (MEGADETH, DISTURBED). The expanded edition contains a bonus live CD — also recorded by Webb — consisting of live material comprised from the band's historic appearances in early 2014.

"Aftershock" sold 11,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 22 on The Billboard 200 chart.

25 years after their inception, one of Spain's death metal pioneers Sacrophobia, is about to see all their recordings officially reissued on CD under the title of Dark Requiems.

Their first demo Only Death is Irreversible came out in 1991 through Drowned Productions (pre-Repulse/pre-Xtreem Music) being followed by a second demo recorded in '92 which was destined to be a 7" EP on Seraphic Decay Records, but that never happened and thus remained unreleased. Then in '93 two more songs were records for a five-way split CD with four other Spanish death metal bands entitled Dead Flesh. A total of ten studio tracks plus three unreleased tunes recorded live in '93 and two live cover songs, was the legacy of Sacrophobia before splitting up in early '94. After this, one of their guitarists, Juancar, joined Avulsed.

This CD comes with remastered sound and killer booklet with liner notes, demo covers, band photos, flyers, gig posters.

After 17 years with German gothic metallers Crematory, guitarist Matze has decided to explore new musical territories and to re-arrange his private life. The band thank Matze from the bottom of their hearts, for the great times they spent together. Crematory recently released the third video from their latest album, Antiserum, for the track “Virus”. It was recorded at the legendary Wacken Open Air festival in 2014.

To span their live inactivity this year, the band decided to release the whole Wacken show as a DVD, including private backstage footage, detailed interviews, footage from their rehearsal room and the three videoclips from Antiserum.

 

 

The yet-untitled DVD will be released through SPV/Steamhammer on June 17th in Scandinavia, June 19th in Germany, June 22nd in Europe. The North American release date will be announced soon.

 

Orphans Of Dusk have come to an agreement with Hypnotic Dirge Records and Solitude Productions to release their debut EP, Revenant, cooperatively in early May. The album will be released in a jewel case CD, alongside a free 11cm x 7cm logo sticker.

 

 

Orphans Of Dusk is a gothic death/doom band being projected into the stars from the South Pacific Ocean, New Zealand/Australia. One of the few bands from this region attempting to break boundaries in depressive doom, it aims to keep pushing the genre from where bands such as Shape Of Despair and Type O Negative left such devastating marks.

Germany's Ván Records have released Heimweh, the debut full-length album from London-based epic black metal sect, Crom Dubh.

Merging melodic yet merciless black metal with folk and post-rock influences, Crom Dubh's debut full-length, Heimweh (meaning homesickness), continues the narrative of the band's 2010 EP, Deifr, in which the gathering and dissolution of a great river operated as a metaphor for the rise and fall of nations and civilizations. Heimweh follows a similar narrative, albeit with a focus on the life of the lone individual within this tumult, following a traditional cradle-to-grave progression throughout the course of the album that runs parallel to Hesiod's five ages of man. The album handles themes of loss, ruthlessness, nostalgia, exile, and death, thinking on the journey ahead and the way home.

Recorded by J. C. Xavi and Ro left to pursue other projects, and A. Haege joined on drums. Crom Dubh recorded and released the 2010 EP, Deifr (Ground Zero), as a three-piece, before being joined by S. Vrath (Scythian, Craven Idol) and A. Von M (Scythian). A. Von M played live with the band on several occasions before leaving the band on good terms.

Long-running New Zealand-based progressive death metal tyrants, Dawn Of Azazel, will release their fourth full-length next month. Titled The Tides Of Damocles, the 10-track slab of sonic violence is the trio's first output in six years following 2009's Relentless long-player.

In times of increasing digital anonymity and alleged germfree perfection, the rock’n’roll trio Nitrogods from Hanover and Stuttgart has opted for the second time in succession for a more arduous but in the long term artistically more satisfying path. Mind you, their songs don’t fulfil such criteria as absolute tonal purity, musical integrity and clinical sterility - quite the opposite: their second studio recording, Rats And Rumours, was consciously recorded in a studio featuring analogue technology, in which phenomena such as having to change reels and regularly clean recording heads are part and parcel of the day-to-day routine.

 

 

“That’s first and foremost a question of attitude and of course fun, because we’re die-hard vintage fans and really enjoyed every single second we spent recording on a venerable 24-track recorder,” guitarist Henny Wolter explains. “Of course this kind of production is much more complex and laborious because you can’t just move whole passages around using the copy & paste function, you really have to be able to play the whole song. Every time you mess up, you have to start all over again. And that’s what makes this kind of production such an exciting challenge, and what you get at the end of the day is real rock’n’roll sound.”

UK prog-metal band, TesseracT, are set to release their first live audio/video concert. Titled Odyssey/Scala, the CD/DVD and LP/DVD package welcomes back One vocalist, Daniel Tompkins. Odyssey, the audio portion, was recorded live during various stops in the autumn of 2014 throughout Europe and Russia on the Altered State World Tour. Scala, the video portion, was filmed live on November 6th, 2014 at Scala, London, UK. A trailer for Odyssey/Scala can be seen below.

TesseracT officially burst on the scene in 2011 with their debut album, One. Touring with the likes of Devin Townsend, Protest The Hero and Between The Buried and Me helped make them one of the most successful break through acts in the progressive metal genre. 2013's Altered State, featured vocalist Ashe O'Hara and was nominated for the Progressive Music Award's Album of the Year. They toured the US with Cloudkicker and Intronaut, playing to sold out venues across the country. Altered State went on to outsell One and appeared on many Year End "Best Of" lists.

British gothic metal pioneers PARADISE LOST will release their 14th studio album, "The Plague Within", on June 2 (one day earlier internationally) via Century Media. The CD was recorded at Orgone Studios (GHOST, ULVER, CATHEDRAL, ANGEL WITCH) in London with producer Jaimie Gomez Arellano.

The cover for "The Plague Within" was created by Polish artist, illustrator and architect Zbigniew M. Bielak, best known in the musical realm for his record cover illustrations, which, among others, include meticulously handcrafted artworks of WATAIN, GHOST and ENTOMBED A.D. albums.

Zbigniew comments: "Since their late '80s inception, through somber abrasiveness of their debut and harrowing tristesse of groundbreaking 'Gothic', the unparalleled icons of gloom, PARADISE LOST grew deep into all things murky and dreadful in modern music. Let alone Duncan Fergado's artwork for their 'Lost Paradise' debut remains one of my fave covers, so having heard that with 'Plague Within' the band harks back to days of old, was — to say the least — a thrilling incentive to pick up the commission. It was also a rare joy to see how preliminarily calm and reflective Arcimboldian artwork, kept becoming ever darker and more sinister past each of Nick's and Greg's scrutinies, to finally become what one can see on the actual cover. A portrait of hopeless decrepitude of mental illness — which is what 'Plague Within' deals with thematically — where the tormented Sisyphus struggles to push his burden back up the slippery walls of a long-frozen illusion."

Regarding the musical direction of "The Plague Within", PARADISE LOST singer Nick Holmes said: "We wanted to approach the new album differently this time, by embracing the band's VERY early days with the last few years.

"We have written a very dark-yet-melodic album, but this time many songs definitely have a death metal edge, which is something we haven't done for a long, long time in PARADISE LOST."

PARADISE LOST performed with an orchestra on September 20 at the Roman theatre in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. For the one-off concert, the band was joined by the renowned Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra founded nearly 70 years ago and made up of over 100 highly qualified musicians. The orchestra has its roots in the hundred-year-old orchestral tradition in Plovdiv and over the years has launched the careers of many world-famous conductors.

The prestigious evening was promoted by the Bulgarian independent radio station Tangra Mega Rock and orchestrated by conductor Levon Manukyan who wrote the first metal ballet and is the founder of the Levon Manukyan Collegium Musicum orchestra. During his career, Levon has given the classical treatment to rock and metal works by MARILYN MANSON, ALICE COOPER, DREAM THEATER, AC/DC, EVANESCENCE, GUNS N' ROSES, KISS, LED ZEPPELIN, NIRVANA and JUDAS PRIEST, and worked with world-famous soloists including ex-NIGHTWISH vocalist Tarja Turunen.

PARADISE LOST's last release, "Tragic Illusion 25 (The Rarities)" , came out in October 2013 in Europe (digitally in North America) and features artwork by Parisian designer Valnoir, who has worked with artists such as ORPHANED LAND, MORBID ANGEL, WATAIN, and more than 150 others. All tracks found on the compilation are previously released rarities — except the new track "Loneliness Remains", and newly recorded "Gothic 2013" and "Our Saviour 2013".

Legendary songwriter, vocalist, guitarist and 19-time Grammy Award-winner Eric Clapton will release a brand new Best Of compilation, entitled Forever Man, via Reprise Records on April 28th in North America.

Featuring 51 tracks over three CDs, Forever Man spans three decades of Clapton's Reprise Records years and features classic studio tracks and a Blues-themed disc.

The collection traces much of Clapton's career featuring the Grammy Award-winning tracks "Change The World", "Tears In Heaven", "Bad Love" and including materials form Eric's Grammy Award-winning albums From The Cradle and Unplugged. Guest performers include B.B. King and J.J. Cale.

The release of Forever Man coincides with an upcoming tour, which includes nine concert dates in celebration of his 70th birthday on March 30th. The shows will take place at New York City's famed Madison Square Garden on May 1st and 2nd and at London's Royal Albert Hall on May 14th, 15th, 17th, 18th, 20th, 21st, and 23rd. The shows will feature Clapton, accompanied by his band members Paul Carrack, Steve Gadd, Nathan East, Chris Stainton, Sharon White, and Michelle John, with opening support act Andy Fairweather Low and the Low Riders.

After making waves with their debut album, On The Steps Of The Temple, Arizona-based duo Tempel have confirmed the first details regarding their sophomore effort, due out this summer.

Titled The Moon Lit Our Path, the album features the band's most momentous and intense work to date and showcases their efforts to push their musical boundaries over the past two years.

"We poured ourselves into this album,” commented guitarist/keyboardist Ryan Wenzel. Drummer Rich Corle added, “The goal was to make sure everything was constantly moving in these songs. We didn’t want anything to interrupt the forward momentum."

The Moon Lit Our Path will be released in North America via Prosthetic Records on June 16th.

 

 

Initially self-released, On The Steps Of The Temple caught the eyes and ears of Prosthetic Records, who re-released the album in 2014 to colossal acclaim from critics and fans alike. The 6-track record  introduced the duo's distinctive sound - thunderous instru-metal that mixes progressive, black, death and post-metal into one mammoth sonic cocktail.

Former RATT singer Stephen Pearcy will release a new compilation, "Before & Laughter Part III (1977-2015)", in the next couple of weeks via his Top Fuel Records label. The collection will contain songs from Pearcy's thirty-plus-year career, including never-before-heard live and studio versions of tracks from MICKEY RATT, ARCADE, VICIOUS DELITE, VERTEX and early RATT songs that were laid down before the the arrival of the band's original members and the signing of RATT's first record contract.

Says Pearcy: "I have literally hundreds of cassettes, CD and every format of recordings over the last thirty-plus years and decided to really get into it and find the charms. I was surprised to find some great music with my bands and projects that should be heard."

Pearcy is currently at MT Studios — the facility owned by his bassist, Matt Thorne — recording "about a dozen songs" for a new solo album, titled "Smash". The first two singles — "I Can't Take It" and "Just One More Time" — have already been completed and are now available on iTunes. The singer told "That Metal Show" co-host Eddie Trunk in a recent interview: "I wanna record about 20 [songs] — possibly 25 — and release a song every few weeks, when it's done [and] ready, and everybody will get a new single until they get a complete, huge album CD package."

Regarding "I Can't Take It", Pearcy said: "It has the RATT signature sound because [early RATT producer] Beau Hill got back into the mix. We've always been in contact, and I told him, 'Look, I'm recording so much music.' And it's very diverse, very straightforward, very experimental stuff. And he was interested. And at the end of day, he mixed, mastered, and it's, like, alright, we're ready to go. Let's see where this takes us. But if it wasn't for him, it wouldn't sound like it sounded."

California metallers DEVILDRIVER have announced the addition of guitarist Neal Tiemann (BURN HALO) to the group's ranks. Tiemann joins the band as the replacement for Jeff Kendrick, who left DEVILDRIVER last October.

According to DEVILDRIVER singer Dez Fafara, eleven songs have already been written for the band's next album, which will arrive sometime in 2016. The CD will mark DEVILDRIVER's first studio effort since the departures of Kendrick and drummer John Boecklin and addition of Tiemann and former CHIMAIRA sticksman Austin D'Amond.

Asked what makes Austin the right drummer for DEVILDRIVER, Dez told Full Metal Jackie: "What made him the right guy is he's more than capable.

"You can understand when members leave a band, and Jeff, the guitar player, left 'cause he just didn't wanna tour anymore, and I totally understood that after the schedule we kept for almost 13 years. And John wanted to try and do some stuff on his own, and it was more than okay with me after that length of time. So, when you do replace members, what you wanna do is you wanna get people who are more than capable — or more capable than even who you had [before]."

He continued: "I definitely am looking forward to playing with Austin. He's a great guy, he's a great drummer, [and] he's got an incredible stage presence. And when he came in for the audition, he absolutely just smoked it. He's just an incredible guy. And you get a real good vibe from him, which is another thing. We're gonna tour a lot, so you're gonna have to have that."

Boecklin and Kendrick played their last show with DEVILDRIVER as part of the 2014 Knotfest in Devore, California.

DEVILDRIVER's latest album, "Winter Kills", sold around 11,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 32 on The Billboard 200 chart.

TWISTED SISTER has released the following statement:

"The members of TWISTED SISTER are profoundly saddened to announce the untimely passing of our brother, A.J. Pero [drums].

"The band, crew and most importantly the family of A.J. Pero thank you for your thoughts and prayers at this time."

In addition to TWISTED SISTER, Pero, who was 55 years old, was a member of ADRENALINE MOB.

Pero joined TWISTED SISTER in 1982, after he left CITIES, a local New York City band. Upon his departure from TWISTED SISTER in 1986, he rejoined CITIES. He participated in the band's 1997 reunion and continued to perform with TWISTED SISTER until his death. Pero was also a member of the OZZY OSBOURNE cover band NO MORE TEARS which is well known around Staten Island, New York.

While continuing to tour and record, A.J. has been hosting drum clinics with Tama drums, holding classes and seminars, and completing an instructional DVD. A.J. was also said to be in the beginning stages of writing a book on his life's journeys and lessons.

A.J. studied with maestro Larry Laurenzano, whom he considered not only a great teacher and mentor, but "a great friend who had more confidence in me, than I did in myself"; Mike Sqroi, "a great drummer who started me and taught me well"; and Nino Morreale who "made me realize who and what I was as a musician/drummer." And, of course, "my Dad who in his own right was a great sax player who never pursued it, but saw in me his dream."

Detroit, Michigan's WALLS OF JERICHO will enter Spider Studios (CHIMAIRA, RINGWORM) with producer Ben Schigel on May 1 to begin recording its first full-length album since 2008 for a late 2015 release via Napalm Records.

After releasing a demo track, "Relentless", last year, the band felt the itch again and decided to get back to recording.

Drummer Dustin Schoenhofer comments on the Napalm deal: "All of us in WALLS OF JERICHO are proud and very excited to have signed with Napalm Records and are looking forward to finally finding the right partnership to release our new music with.

"We would like to thank both Napalm and all our fans and family for being so patient with us these past seven years since our last release, 'cause it's long overdue."

Adds Thomas Caser, Napalm Records VP: "We are thrilled to work with one of the most exciting acts out of this genre and one of the best live bands out there!

WALLS OF JERICHO's last album, "The American Dream", (Trustkill Records), sold around 2,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The effort debuted at No. 11 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

"The American Dream" was recorded at Spider Studios in Cleveland, Ohio with Ben Schigel and Tony Gammalo.

WALLS OF JERICHO and Corey Taylor (SLIPKNOT, STONE SOUR) collaborated on an EP entitled "Redemption". The CD, which was produced by Taylor, featured primarily melodic vocals and acoustic instruments.

The Rave TV conducted an interview with vocalist Anders Fridén and guitarist Niclas Engelin of Swedish metallers IN FLAMES on March 18 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. You can now watch the chat below.

Speaking about how different it is for young metal fans to check out new bands and albums today compared to how it was when the members of IN FLAMES were growing up, Niclas said: "I think the magic is gone somehow. Because when I was a kid, you had to search for [new bands and records]. And then you could see an ad. For example, [if] DIO was releasing a new album, 'The Last In Line'… Oh, it will be out during the fall. Then you went for the whole summer just waiting for it. And then you could some ads, you could see how it looked, the cover artwork. You were building up something. That's a little bit gone."

Added Anders: "I skipped school just to be there when [METALLICA] released '…And Justice For All'. It was so, so important. And you couldn't get it in advance. You might have heard some songs on the radio. Being Swedish, we didn't have that many radio shows anyway. At the same time, I must say, it's hard for us to get into the minds of the young people today. I mean, they have a different way. I mean, fuck, we started before the Internet [existed], which is pretty crazy to say. It doesn't say anything about our age, but… Nah, but it's… Kids today have a different way, and for them, that's their way."

He continued: "I remember I could go to record stores and stand there for hours and hours, with piles of vinyls and just listening through. I bought one [album], maybe two [albums at a time], if I was lucky. And it was such a great feeling going home with that vinyl, instead of today when everything is there; it's out there for anyone to grab. And also, what [Niclas] said, the magic is gone somehow… according to us."

IN FLAMES' latest album, "Siren Charms", sold around 9,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 26 on The Billboard 200 chart.

"Siren Charms" was released in the U.S. on September 9, 2014 via Sony/RED. The CD was recorded at Hansa Tonstudios (DAVID BOWIE, DEPECHE MODE, U2) in Berlin, Germany. The cover artwork was created by Blake Armstrong of Space Boy Comics.

IN FLAMES filmed a new concert DVD/Blu-ray on November 6, 2014 at Hovet in Stockholm and November 7, 2014 at Scandinavium in Gothenburg, Sweden.

On April 7th, guitarist/composer Steve Hackett will release his brand new solo album, Wolflight, in North America via InsideOut Music. With a few weeks to go until the record's release, a new track-by-track interview with Hackett on the album's title track, taken from the special edition version of the album, has just been posted.

A lyric video for the track "The Wheel's Turning" was also recently released and can be viewed below. Hackett had this to say about the song: "In contrast to the primal and gothic nature of much of the album, 'The Wheel's Turning' has a fun and nostalgic vibe. It recaptures my childhood memories of London's Battersea Funfair which gave me hours of joy and challenge in an otherwise grey world. Take that trip back in time with me, fasten your seat belt and enjoy the ride..."

Wolflight is Steve Hackett's first original solo studio album since Beyond The Shrouded Horizon in 2011. The album will be available in North America in two physical configurations, as well as digitally. Fans will have the option of purchasing Wolflight physically as a standard CD or as a deluxe version with a CD plus BluRay digipak, which will feature two bonus tracks.

The concept behind Wolflight is a new, unexplored chapter in Hackett's career. The tracks take the listener through a journey in space and time looking at the different faces of the endless fight for freedom. Wandering between parallel universes, Hackett explores contemporary and ancient cultures, from Greece ("Corycian Fire") to the Far East ("Wolflight"), the United States and Martin Luther King ("Black Thunder"), and also his very own childhood memories ("The Wheel's Turning") and the unresolved drama of domestic violence ("Love Song To A Vampire").

Steve Hackett's electric guitar plays a powerful role, although we also hear him on acoustic guitar, Arabian lute and twelve string, along with his strong lead vocals. Guest musicians include long time collaborators Roger King (keyboards & programming), Gary O'Toole (drums), Rob Townsend (sax, duduk), Nick Beggs (bass & stick) and Amanda Lehmann (harmony vocals).  Malik Mansurov on tar and Sara Kovaks on didgeridoo add an extra exotic element, plus YES bassist Chris Squire plays on "Love Song To A Vampire" and Hugo Dagenhardt plays drums on "Dust and Dreams".  The innovative songwriting team includes Steve Hackett, his wife Jo Hackett and Roger King.

In 2010, Steve Hackett was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame at The 25th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony alongside his Genesis bandmates from the classic lineup: Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford.  For more than three decades, Steve Hackett has been known for his innovative tone and extraordinary versatility as a guitarist and composer. He helped define Genesis' sound as lead guitarist in the classic lineup and went on to have a highly-successful career as a solo artist, and also as part of '80s supergroup GTR with Steve Howe.

Montreal, QC black doom band Éohum (pronounced ee-o-um) have premiered the track "Thus Spewed Thy Infectious Reign" from their upcoming debut Revelations, Aurora Of An Epoch due out on April 7th via Mycelium Networks as a pay what you want release here.

"'Thus Spewed Thy Infectious Reign' starts with a salad of doom riffs, gutturals and cleans, slowly progressing mid-way through the song to a relentless black death anthem. Transitioning between both worlds, this song has the capacity to keep the attention of an array of metal lovers. Type of song you want to put on a loop or that haunts your conscious for a couple of days! Lyrically speaks of our point of no return as a species, unless we awaken from our deep sleep and brings to surface the many coma-tic ways of our times. With so much talent from various backgrounds, Éohum blend the most gruesome with the cleanest of black and doom metal to create hypnotic riffs with seducing horns. The band name Éohum means many Yew trees in old English, Yew tree is the Tree of Life for the English tribes of our past, pre-dating most of the Celt languages, which blended Latin to their own afterward.
