Mascot Label Group recently announced the signing of VANDENBERG'S MOONKINGS. The Dutch rock group will join, amongst others, Joe Bonamassa, VOLBEAT, GOV'T MULE, Beth Hart, Zakk Wylde/BLACK LABEL SOCIETY and Kenny Wayne Shepherd on the Rotterdam, Holland-based record company's roster.

Video footage of reunited New York death metal legends SKINLESS performing a brand new song, "Serpenticide", on January 18 at Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park, New York can be seen below.

SKINLESS is currently writing material for the long-awaited follow-up to 2006's "Trample The Weak, Hurdle The Dead" for an early 2015 release.

Says guitarist Noah Carpenter: "SKINLESS is far overdue for a new album so that will be our priority for the [this] year. Basically, we're going to put the 'Progression', 'Foreshadowing' and 'Trample' albums into a blender, add some guitar solos and serve up the heaviest SKINLESS release yet."

Formed in 1992 in Albany, New York, SKINLESS has released four full-length albums and numerous EPs throughout its 20-plus-year career. Was wird die Zeit bringen, die vor mir liegt? Welche Wünsche habe ich? Welche Träume will ich noch träumen? Welche Wege will ich gehen....................?

Das sind nur einige der Fragen, die ich mir vor einiger Zeit selber stellte. Damals hatte ich auf keine dieser Fragen eine wirkliche Antwort. Zu groß war der Wunsch nach Ruhe und Stille, um die unendlich vielen Momente der vergangenen Jahre zu verarbeiten. Ich wollte Zeit haben dieses unfassbar schöne Geschenk des Erfolges der letzten Jahre zu begreifen und zu verinnerlichen. Ich wollte für mich verstehen, was in den letzten Jahren des Erfolges geschehen war.

Ich nahm mir diese Zeit für mich und meine Familie und kündigte an, dass es nun erst einmal ruhig um Unheilig werden würde. Mit dieser selbst verordneten Freiheit der Stille zog ich mich in mein Studio zurück und begann im Grunde ohne ein wirkliches Ziel Lieder zu schreiben.

Erst einmal in aller Ruhe und nur für mich. Keine Termine. Keine Verpflichtungen. Diese Erfahrung und Rückkehr zu den Wurzeln meines Schaffens vor 15 Jahren war befreiend, erdend und sehr inspirierend.

Einige Wochen und Monate zogen vorbei und die ersten Lieder entstanden. Ich habe mich vom ersten Ton an in die neuen Lieder verliebt und die Musik wuchs von Tag zu Tag in mir. Die tägliche Arbeit mit den Lieder und Songtexten lösen die für mich so wichtige Euphorie in mir aus und bringen neue Visionen und Ziele mit sich. Auf die vergangenen Jahre konnte ich mit einem Lächeln der Dankbarkeit zurückzublicken und die Zukunft und meine Visionen klar fokussieren. Der Wunsch in mir kam auf, die neuen Lieder wieder mit den Menschen zu teilen. Die Liebe zur Musik gemeinsam mit meinen Fans zu erleben. Das war der Moment, wo ich wusste, welchen Weg ich gehen will, welche Wünsche ich habe und welche Träume ich noch träumen will. Ich spürte, dass ich mich wieder einer Herausforderung stellen möchte. Eine große, bisher noch unbekannte und neue Herausforderung.

Ein weiterer unheiliger Lebensabschnitt.

Ich habe in der Vergangenheit immer gesagt, dass ich mich über jeden Menschen freue, der sich in meiner Musik wiederfindet. Unabhängig von Szenen, Musikstilen oder Musikrichtungen. Musik ist für jeden Menschen da, der sie mag. Musik darf sich vor niemanden verschließen. Mit dieser Überzeugung, ist Unheilig seinen Weg gegangen und mein Herz hat mir immer wieder gesagt, dass dieser Weg der Richtige war.

Somit entschied ich mich noch einen Schritt weiterzugehen. Musik darf ebenso keine Grenzen haben. Musik kann grenzübergreifend sein und der Wunsch kam in mir auf, auch den Menschen in anderen Ländern meine Musik vorzustellen und mich für die Teilnahme beim ESC 2014 zu bewerben.

In diesem Augenblick hatte ich meinen Wunsch klar vor Augen. Ich will mein Bestes geben und alle Lieder, welche die Unheiligfans zu den besten und schönsten Lie
13:07: dern erkoren haben, auch den Menschen in anderen Ländern vorstellen und ihnen die Möglichkeit geben die Unheilige Musik kennenzulernen und mit uns allen zu teilen.

Somit wurde das erste Unheilig Best of Album „ Alles hat seine Zeit“ bei mir als Idee geboren. Die besten Lieder aus 15 Jahren Unheilig und die beiden neuen Lieder, mit denen ich beim ESC 2014 antreten werde. So viele Träume wurden erfüllt. So viele unvergessliche Momente. Es war ein langer und ein schöner Weg bis zu diesem Album. Jedes Lied hat seine Zeit und ist wie ein Anker der Erinnerung. Jeder einzelne Ton bringt die vielen schönen Augenblicke von damals wieder zurück. Die beiden neuen Lieder sind mein Blick nach vorne und haben mir die Gewissheit geschenkt meinen Weg weiterzugehen und ich bin gespannt, welche Erinnerung auch sie einmal in sich tragen werden. Ich blicke zurück mit einem Lächeln und freue mich auf die Zukunft. Alles hat seine Zeit!

Still riding high from the success of their critically acclaimed 2011 album "The Great Mass", Hellenic metallers SEPTICFLESH have finished recording their new, as-yet-untitled full-length, tentatively scheduled for a summer release. The new CD will consist of 10 songs that were recorded once again at Devasoundz Studios in Athens, Greece and in the Czech Republic with the collaboration of the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra And Choir. From there, the album was mixed and mastered in Los Angeles by acclaimed producer Logan Mader (GOJIRA, FEAR FACTORY, CAVALERA CONSPIRACY).

Says the band: "We are really exhausted from the work on this record, but also very proud of the results. We worked hard with Logan to bring you the ultimate death metal soundtrack for your darkest dreams. The compositions are progressive with a lot of emotional peaks, while at the same time the songs sound very aggressive and powerful. We also had the chance to work for the first time with a full children's choir besides the regular adult choir, and that helped us dive deeper into darker cinematic atmospheres. We have achieved a new level of extreme emotions."

SEPTICFLESH has earned extensive international praise for its eight albums to date, as well as their performances on tour alongside the likes of CRADLE OF FILTH, AMON AMARTH, GORGOROTH, SATYRICON and CHILDREN OF BODOM. The group, who recently headlined the "Conquerers Of The World" North American tour, is currently taking part in the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise.

NERVOSA, the all-female thrash metal act from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, will release its debut album, "Victim Of Yourself", on March 11 in North America via Napalm Records. The production, recording, mixing and mastering were taken care of by Heros Trench and Pompeu, both of the veteran Brazilian metal band KORZUS. The recordings took place at the studio Mr. Som, where NERVOSA recorded its first EP, entitled "Time Of Death", in 2012.

According to a press release, "the all-female thrash metal combo pushes the pedal to the metal and offers the listener high-speed riffs, furious drumming and raging leads. The songs have a brutal and raw energy and are crowned by murderous hooks and the aggressive vocals by bassist Fernanda Lira."

Southern California rock trio KYNG will release its new studio album, "Burn The Serum", on April 15 via Razor & Tie. The CD was produced by Andrew Alekel (FOO FIGHTERS, NO DOUBT, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, CLUTCH) and James A. Rota and was recorded at Grandmaster Recorders Ltd. and Sword & Shield in Hollywood, California as well as at Studio 606 in Northridge, California.

KYNG's Eddie Veliz explains the song: "'Burn The Serum' is one of the best songs that the guys and I have written so far. It's extremely honest in the subject matter and the riff."

On its second full-length album and first for Razor & Tie, KYNG harks back to the essence of heavy rock 'n' roll, forging thunderous percussion to lightning hot riffs driven by a divine vocal howl. At the same time, they keep their eyes wide open towards the future. KYNG find grandiosity in simplicity. Massachusetts metal act WITHIN THE RUINS has entered the studio to begin recording its as-yet-untitled new album for a summer release. Jason Suecof (ALL THAT REMAINS, AUGUST BURNS RED) has been tapped to mix the new effort.

Guitarist Joe Cocchi is engineering and producing yet another WITHIN THE RUINS record in his studio. Then they will be bringing it into Josh Wickman's Dreadcore Studios for vocal production.

Comments Cocchi: "This is the most time we have ever had to focus on writing.

"There are a ton of new aspects to this material.

"We are always aiming to create the most interesting and refreshing music that we are capable of, and I think we have finally been able to accomplish that with this album."

After a long period of silence, Portuguese masters of gore HOLOCAUSTO CANIBAL have signed a deal with Bizarre Leprous Production. The band's new EP, "Larvas", consists of four new songs and is actually a continuation of "Gorefilia"'s approach to paraphilias, involving [once again] sexual arousal and gratification towards sexual behavior that is atypical and extreme.

Musically speaking, these new songs evolved into something faster and brutal than "Gorefilia" while maintaining the grooviest side of the band presented in HOLOCAUSTO CANIBAL's previous work. As always, you can expect self-torture, bizarre love, and loads of sperm tainted with blood.

Sick Drummer Magazine has uploaded video footage of Derek Roddy (HATE ETERNAL, NILE, TODAY IS THE DAY), Gus Rios (MALEVOLENT CREATION) and Jason Bittner ( ) performing an instrumental cover version of SLAYER's "Angel Of Death" at this year's NAMM (National Association Of Music Merchants) show, which was held January 23-26 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. Jeff Hanneman died last year from alcohol-related cirrhosis of the liver. He is credited for writing many of SLAYER's classic songs, including "Angel Of Death" and "South Of Heaven".

The guitarist, who passed away in Los Angeles on May 2, 2013, had actually not been playing with SLAYER for more than two years since he contracted necrotizing fasciitis, also known as flesh-eating disease, from a spider bite in his backyard in January 2011. The infection ravaged the flesh and tissues of Hanneman's arm, leading to numerous surgeries, skin grafts and intense periods of rehab that forced him into semi-retirement and left him near death at several points.

Hanneman's last appearance with SLAYER was in April 2011, when he played an encore with the band at the "Big Four" concert in Indio, California.

"Orchestrating The Apocalypse", the debut album from the death metal horde WARFATHER, the new full-time project fronted by ex-MORBID ANGEL bassist/vocalist Steve Tucker, can be streamed in its entirety using the SoundCloud widget below. WARFATHER was initially announced in mid-2012, but has remained otherwise virtually a mystery until now. CHIMAIRA's video for the song "Wrapped In Violence" can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's seventh studio album, "Crown Of Phantoms", which sold around 7,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 52 on The Billboard 200 chart. The record arrived in stores on July 30, 2013 via eOne Music.

CHIMAIRA's previous CD, "The Age Of Hell", premiered with more than 7,000 units in August 2011 to debut at No. 54. The band's 2009 effort, "The Infection", registered a first-week tally of 15,000 to land at No. 30. In an interview with Ghost Cult, Hunter stated about CHIMAIRA's new CD: "'Crown Of Phantoms' is the culmination of three years of going through tons of changes, harsh realities but also excitement. It's something brand new and when you put all those things together you get 'Crown Of Phantoms' as a result. These are exciting times for the band and it's the polar opposite of where I was with the band two years ago."

Regarding whether he thought of packing it in after the numerous lineup changes that CHIMAIRA went through since the release of 2011's "The Age Of Hell", Hunter said: "Many people on the Internet thought we were done for. By the timing and the speed things were unraveling, I had the luxury of not thinking rationally and I simply soldiered on. It was happening so fast and not thinking about quitting was a sort of defense in a way. I defended what I hold dear and what I wanted to fight for. Of course there were moments of insecurity and doubts. Luckily, I had a good team and a good support system of friends and family around me telling me that I was crazy if I wanted to change the band name or quit altogether. They pointed out that bands like MEGADETH and BLACK SABBATH went through countless lineup changes. BLACK SABBATH had a super successful era without Ozzy. Of course, with MEGADETH, 'Rust In Peace' was one of their best albums and it wasn't recorded with the same lineup who did 'Peace Sells', which is another MEGADETH classic. There are more examples of bands that went through major lineup changes and still had major success. Of course, to be in this situation is scary as hell."

THE SINS OF THY BELOVED members Stig Johansen and Anders Thue have teamed up with MIDNATTSOL vocalist Carmen Elise Espenaes to form a new band called SAVN. Their debut album will be released later this year via CDR Records out of Norway.

"Feast" sold around 800 copies in the United States in its first week of release.

In a recent interview with Ghost Cult Magazine, ANNIHILATOR guitarist/mainman Jeff Waters stated about "Feast": "As an artist, you're sometimes lucky when it all comes together, be it painting, singing or whatever. Sometimes you want to do something good and when you're busy with it, you seem to hit the nail on the head. When you listen back, it doesn't contain your best work. Sometimes it just works. Bands like IRON MAIDEN, JUDAS PRIEST, SLAYER and also we in ANNIHILATOR have great records and we have our share of not-so-good records. Different times, different places, you know. Maybe we were lucky with 'Feast' and maybe we were inspired. A lot of it comes from that my partner in ANNIHILATOR, singer/guitarist Dave Padden, said that we should take a break for three years from writing music and focus on other things. We did a lot of touring, I worked in my studio, give guitar clinics for Gibson and Epiphone and we played the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise, all these cool things. The break breathed a lot of new life in the ANNIHILATOR music and that's probably where a lot of the inspiration came from."

BLACK SABBATH is teaming up with Secret 7" to release 100 copies of an "Age Of Reason" seven-inch single in aid of War Child, a family of independent humanitarian organizations which work together to help children and young people affected by armed conflict.

Secret 7" returns for 2014 with seven more iconic acts and seven iconic songs from the past 33 years.

The heavy hitting lineup includes BLACK SABBATH; Brit- and NME-award-nominated Jake Bugg; Mercury Prize-winning Elbow; Grammy-nominated, Billboard-topping Lorde; Brit-winning trip-hop originators MASSIVE ATTACK, pop-music-defining ROXY MUSIC and T.REX with one of their 14 top 20 singles.

The announcement of this year's artists and tracks coincides with the opening of the project's submissions process for creatives across the world. The selected work will feature in an exhibition and sale of 700 one-of-a-kind records at Downstairs at Mother.

All 700 sleeves will be exhibited on April 12 and April 13. On Record Store Day, April 19, visitors are able to purchase the unique vinyl sleeves for £45. However, none of the buyers will know who created the sleeve, or even which song it's for, until they have parted with their cash — the secret lies inside.

Those wanting to design a sleeve need to head to the Secret 7' web site, www.secret-7.com. Closing dates for entries is February 19.

In 2013, the project counted Ai Weiwei, Gilbert & George and David Shrigley amongst the hundreds of artwork contributors. A queue began forming over 24 hours in advance of the sale, which sold out in just a few hours. In two years, Secret 7" has raised £63,670 for good causes.

Drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott (HELLYEAH, PANTERA, DAMAGEPLAN) was interviewed by ddrum at this year's NAMM (National Association Of Music Merchants) show, which was held January 23-26 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. You can now watch the chat below.

Asked about the current status of HELLYEAH, Vinnie Paul said: "The new HELLYEAH record's done. It was completed last week. It comes out May 15. Our touring starts April 12 — a big show in Phoenix with AVENGED SEVENFOLD, which is gonna be amazing. And I'm just looking forward to some good stuff next year, man. You'll be seeing me all over the United States, Canada, Europe, Japan, South America, Australia… We're coming to see you. 2014 is the year of HELLYEAH!"

HELLYEAH's fourth studio album will be released via Eleven Seven Music. The CD was helmed by producer Kevin Churko at his The Hideout Recording Studio in Las Vegas, Nevada. Churko is the Canadian musician, sound engineer, songwriter and record producer who has previously worked with OZZY OSBOURNE, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH and IN THIS MOMENT, among other acts.

Abbott called the band's new material "heavy and diverse" and promised that the album would contain HELLYEAH's "very best" music to date. He added: "It was an honor working with Kevin. He really pushed and got the best out of us. Everything we did on this record was from a different perspective."

HELLYEAH's first three albums were laid down in Dallas, Texas at Vinnie Paul Abbott's home studio, VP's Upstairs Studio.

HELLYEAH took part in last year's edition of Gigantour, the critically acclaimed package festival founded in 2005 by MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine. Also appearing on the bill were headliners MEGADETH, along with BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, DEVICE, NEWSTED and DEATH DIVISION.

"Band Of Brothers" sold 19,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 19 on The Billboard 200 chart.
