Norway's MANES has inked a deal with Debemur Morti Productions. The band is preparing two different releases which should be out in the coming months.

"We still work in a void bereft of most expectations and genre limitations, at least we like to think we do, so they might be in for a ride.

"We've got two releases more or less ready to be unveiled, and more info about both will come as soon as dates and cover and stuff is ready. We've also started to consider doing some select gigs here and there, and we've assembled the crew from around the 'Vilosophe' album to realize this venture. The title track of "Death Will Reign", the new album from Southern California juggernauts IMPENDING DOOM, can be streamed using the SoundCloud widget below. Due on November 5 via eOne Music, the CD was recorded, produced and mixed by Will Putney at The Machine Shop (SUICIDE SILENCE, LAMB OF GOD).

IMPENDING DOOM has crafted a stunning, deliberate and unrelenting collection with a sense of purpose, drive and continuity. All of those elements are injected with the return of the gritty rawness found within the unpolished grind of "Nailed. Dead. "There's no crazy digital stuff. There are no fake drums. We wanted it to have the feel of our first album with the songwriting from the last one. We've gotten better at song structures and so forth over the years, but we wanted to recapture that old-school vibe, too."

IMPENDING DOOM's fourth full-length album, "Baptized In Filth", sold 4,600 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 106 on The Billboard 200 chart. Released on March 13, 2012, the CD was produced by Andreas Magnusson (THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, THE FAMINE) and was mixed by Machine, who has previously worked with LAMB OF GOD, SUICIDE SILENCE and DEMON HUNTER, among others.

"[Tue] is a great producer and a good friend of the band," EMINENCE guitarist Alan Wallace tells Revolver magazine. "We spent an entire year producing this album, and worked really hard together to make 'The Stalker' become a reality."

"Black Sabbath: Live…Gathered in Their Masses" was recorded April 29 and May 1, 2013 in Melbourne, Australia when the band — Ozzy Osbourne (vocals), Tony Iommi (guitar) and Geezer Butler (bass) — kicked off their world tour in support of their "13" album, which entered the charts at No. 1 in 13 countries (including their first #1 in the U.S.). "Ragnarok", the new video from Maryland-based experimental, progressive metallers PERIPHERY, can be seen below. The clip was filmed during the Summer Slaughter tour and captures some of the finest moments from the band's legendary live shows.

"Ragnarok" comes off PERIPHERY's latest album, "Periphery II: This Time It's Personal", which sold nearly 12,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 44 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was released in North America on July 3, 2012 via Sumerian Records and was made available in Europe on July 16, 2012 through Century Media Records. It features guest appearances by John Petrucci (DREAM THEATER), Guthrie Govan (THE ARISTOCRATS) and Wes Hauch (THE FACELESS).

In an interview with Metal Assault, guitarist Misha Mansoor stated about the band's musical progression since its debut record, "Our first album was pretty diverse, and with that we created a framework so that we could kind of experiment and push in any one of those directions, and not have it be something weird or something that sounds forced, you know. There's always been an aspect of that sound and we're just expanding on it further. And I think very true to that, that's what we did on this album. We're still kind of going in all of those directions, but a little bit further, and with a little bit more experience, you know." He added, "This album is PERIPHERY the band as opposed to my project with a bunch of dudes. This is really the first time we've been able to work together as a band and write an album together. I think that's really cool because it's not just me. You're hearing so much more, you're hearing something that's greater than the sum of its parts."

German power metallers PRIMAL FEAR have set "Delivering The Black" as the title of their tenth studio album, tentatively due in January 2014 via Frontiers Records. The CD was mixed with Jacob Hansen (VOLBEAT, PRETTY MAIDS, DESTRUCTION) at his Hansen studio in Ribe, Denmark. 12 tracks were recorded during the new album sessions, including "two epic songs, one guitar ballad, and nine crushing metal songs with all the trademarks you know and love to hear from PRIMAL FEAR," according to the band. The effort was engineered by Achim Köhler (EDGUY, MASTERPLAN) and was produced by PRIMAL FEAR bassist Mat Sinner.

"Delivering The Black" features a guest appearance by Norwegian singer Liv Kristine Espenaes Krull (LEAVES' EYES, ex-THEATRE OF TRAGEDY) on the song "Born With A Broken Heart".

In a recent interview with Jump Metal, PRIMAL FEAR vocalist Ralf Scheepers stated about the musical direction of the band's upcoming album: "It's not so far away [from what we've done in the past], because we have our style, you know. It was hard for us to imagine… because [2012's] 'Unbreakable' was a pretty tough... and really, in our ears, pretty great album, and for us, it was somehow hard to top it. But as soon as we started to write the new songs, and as soon as I heard what Mat and Magnus [Karlsson, guitar] did in the first place — because then they sent me some stuff and I added my ideas on it — I just thought, 'Wow, this is amazing.' And in the end, it really turned out to be a better album than 'Unbreakable'."

Frontiers and PRIMAL FEAR in January announced that they have renewed their partnership for another multi-album deal, which will include two more studio releases and one live CD and DVD. PRIMAL FEAR's latest album, "Unbreakable", sold around 600 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 44 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

France-based doom metal act MONOLITHE will release their fourth full length album, Monolithe IV, in a four-panel digipack CD on October 18th in Europe, and on November 16th in North America. The artwork was conceived once again by Norwegian artist Robert Høyem from Overhaus (formerly known as At The Ends).

"Delusions Of Grandeur" is a concept record "about a person, whose delusions of grandeur escalate to the level where they consume him completely," explains SAHG's Olav Iversen (vocals, guitar). "From becoming increasingly psychopathic and dominant, he loses touch with everyone around him and isolates into his own imaginary, psychotic world, where he becomes the almighty ruler of the universe. As he stands on the highest peak of his domain and beholds all that he has conquered, he suddenly slips off the edge and floats away, weightless. Helpless and stripped of all power, he drifts further into the open space, until he disappears into the darkness. It's an album about how desire for power and property can distort and destroy who we are."

MANRAZE, the London-based rock band formed by DEF LEPPARD lead guitarist Phil Collen, along with punk rock forerunner Paul Cook (SEX PISTOLS) on drums and Simon Laffy, rockin' bass player of Collen's former glam-band GIRL, will release their new EP, "I Surrender", on November 12.

"I Surrender" will be comprised of three songs, including the title track, which features background vocals by Debbi Blackwell-Cook, who also appears on "All I Wanna Do", a newly recorded version of the song which first appeared on the trio's 2011 sophomore album "punkfunkrootsrock". The final track is "Connected - Live from Shepherd's Bush", a live studio performance from a studio podcast session, not previously released.

The first single, "I Surrender", was nearly forgotten about, explains Collen. "The song is eight years old," he says. "It practically never got finished. I was on tour last year and started singing the chorus. Early this year, I re-did the guitars to Paul's original demo drums. I did a vocal and Simon played new bass-lines. Ger McDonnell then did a brilliant edit and mix on what we gave him. Debbi Blackwell-Cook supplied the wailing outro-vocals that you hear at the end of the song. We feel this is our best song yet."

In the spring of 2011, the MANRAZE single "I, Superbiker" was the theme song for the feature documentary of the same name. Another MANRAZE song featuring Debbi Blackwell-Cook titled "Take On The World" was also released in conjunction with the film. Directed by Mark Sloper, and released solely in the U.K., the documentary is an in-depth exposé into the merciless world of competitive speed bike racing and a look at the men who have dedicated their entire existence to this incredibly dangerous, adrenaline-fueled sport.

Since the last album release, all three band members have kept busy. Collen continues to hold down his "day job" as lead guitarist with DEF LEPPARD, currently promoting their DEF LEPPARD "Viva! Hysteria" concert live album and DVD release this month. Cook has been working with Edwyn Collins, first on his 2013 album release "Understated", and then touring with Collins playing live shows. Currently, Cook is also playing in SUBWAY SECT with Vic Goddard touring and recording a new album. Laffy has taken his talents into another creative lane, having authored two novels in his "off time," "Red Sunrise" and "Seed Of Satan". Both are historical fictions, set around epic events of the 20th century and are in the process of being published.

It all started in 2004, when Phil Collen, after 20+ years as lead guitarist for DEF LEPPARD, decided to express himself via another creative outlet. After a chance meeting on the street with Paul Cook, MANRAZE finally released their debut album, "Surreal", through Universal in the summer of 2008 to rave reviews.

RUNNING WILD will release its new album, "Resilient", on October 4 in Germany and October 7 in the rest of Europe via Steamhammer/SPV.

Kasparek has come up with twelve storm-proof numbers, ten of which are scheduled for release on the regular CD. Two bonus tracks and a poster will be included on the limited version of the album.

Kasparek was working full throttle on this new album since February 2013. Due to his intense involvement with GIANT X, his band with guitarist Peter Jordan, Rolf had consciously taken a break from RUNNING WILD and has now resumed work with the band with zest and lots of new ideas.

"The break was important and extremely refreshing for me," he explains. "I felt that renewed vigor as soon as I started writing the material for 'Resilient', tracks such as 'Fireheart' and 'Soldiers Of Fortune' just came pouring out of me. The dynamic pace of 'Soldiers Of Fortune' in particular kicked off a whole avalanche of creativity in me."

Rolf explains that "Resilient" is audibly tougher and more compact than its predecessor, "Shadowmaker", clearly enjoying his revived zest. "'Shadowmaker' happened to come about slightly unexpectedly and spontaneously, even for me," he says. "The album has brought back the fun I used to have with RUNNING WILD, and my fans will get to feel this fun when 'Resilient' comes out in October!"

The album's opener, "Soldiers Of Fortune", and the title track, "The Drift" and "Run Riot" will be three typical RUNNING WILD numbers. The most outstanding song on the album, however, is called "Bloody Island", with almost ten minutes playing time one of the longest tracks in RUNNING WILD's career to date. Rolf says: "As a composer, it's, of course, difficult for me to pigeonhole the new material stylistically, but friends who have heard the demo version of 'Bloody Island' claim that it would have fitted in on 'Pile Of Skulls'."

In terms of lyrics, there are the familiar fusillades that we've come to expect from RUNNING WILD: "Bloody Island" and the bonus track "Payola & Shenanigans" see Rock'n'Rolf criticize the curse of greed that we've seen specifically in the European banking crisis of recent years. "Crystal Gold" is about the obviously politically motivated privatization of drinking water, and "Fireheart" and "Run Riot" are warnings to RUNNING WILD's fans to be confident of themselves and vigilant towards authorities. Rolf says: "For me, that's the attitude which stands for that true rock'n'roll feeling."

"Resilient" was produced by Rock'n'Rolf himself, supported by Niki Nowy during the mixing and mastering process, as well as Katharina Nowy and Peter Jordan, who contributed a number of guitar solos. For the first time, Rolf worked with precise vocal lines during the demo recordings.

"The targeted use of lyrics and vocal melodies during the demo stage was new for me, but it worked out really well and I've never gone to the studio as well prepared as I did this time around," he says. "I didn't have to try and test things but only had to put a few finishing touches to my singing at the studio. A definite advantage!"

As to whether RUNNING WILD will present this brilliant album live on stage. Rolf says: "We've had a lot of festival offers for summer 2014, which we will look at carefully. We'll know more in a few months' time and will inform our fans as soon as we've made up our minds."

The second disc, Horns Up, sums up Roadrunner’s indelible impact on the metal scene of the 1990s with moshpit-detonating anthems from SLIPKNOT, MACHINE HEAD, SEPULTURA, COAL CHAMBER, FEAR FACTORY, and many others. The third disc, And Metal For All, brings the listener into the 2000s and up to the present with the pounding sounds of KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, TRIVIUM, DREAM THEATER, OPETH, GOJIRA and more, as well as a track from 2005’s “all-star” Roadrunner United album. METALLICA performed on September 22 at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, where the band came out to play "Enter Sandman" in honor of Yankees great Mariano Rivera, who is retiring at the end of this season.

The closer, who holds the Major League record for most saves, has used "Enter Sandman" as his entrance music since 1999.

After their performance in center field, METALLICA came down to home plate to present Rivera with a custom amplifier that read "Metallica 42 Sandman" in honor of the pitcher's uniform number. That day's opposing team, the San Francisco Giants, also gave Rivera a custom guitar designed by Kirk Hammett and signed by baseball legend Willie Mays.

Tel-Aviv, Israel-based thrash metallers HAMMERCULT, winners of the 2011 Wacken Metal Battle, are set to release their second studio album Steelcrusher on January 24th in Germany, January 27th in Europe and February 4th in North America via SPV/Sonic Attack.
“We definitely have European influences and have grown up with bands like KREATOR, DESTRUCTION and SODOM,” says frontman Yakir Shochat. “Lots of important groups signed with Noise Records in their early days. That’s why we’re particularly happy that Steelcrusher will be out on Sonic Attack, Noise founder Karl Walterbach’s current label. So as fans of that great Noise era, we’ve come full circle in that respect.”
Yakir Shochat and his four band colleagues are especially proud of the fact that they have succeeded in enlisting the legendary cover artist Andreas Marshall (the Berlin-based artist has worked for BLIND GUARDIAN, IN FLAMES, RUNNING WILD and HAMMERFALL, among others) for the Steelcrusher artwork. Andreas Marshall professes to be highly impressed by the Israeli band: “I really like Hammercult’s amazingly dynamic music,” he explains. “In addition, I really enjoyed working with Karl Walterbach again, for whom I designed my first metal covers many years ago. Hammercult are a cool band, very fresh and with a fantastic image.”

After months of uncertainties HAZY HAMLET is finally able to release more details about its upcoming album. Filled with influences from the NWOBHM, Full Throttle will present a more traditional sonority than its predecessor, and it is scheduled to be released on November 16th by new label Arthorium Records.

The album cover artwork is signed by veteran Brazilian illustrator Celso Mathias, who worked with the group before in its Forging Metal debut. The painting presents Norse god Odin once more, but this time riding a motorcycle version of his horse Sleipnir, transmitting a message about "carpe diem". A post-apocalyptic landscape intends to recall the listener to wars and mankind's path to degradation. Although the album will be released primarily in CD, the illustration was painted in gatefold format, as the band intends to release a vinyl version in the future.

All tracks were recorded and produced by Hazy Hamlet in its own Bigorna Studio and singer Arthur Migotto was responsible by mixing and mastering processes. Line-up is the same which has been promoting Forging Metal album: Arthur Migoto (vocals), Julio Bertin (guitar), Fabio Nakahara (bass) and Cadu Madera (drums).

Rock’n’Rolf has been working full throttle on this new album since February. Due to his intense involvement with GIANT X, his band with guitarist Peter Jordan, Rolf had consciously taken a break from Running Wild and has now resumed work with the band with zest and lots of new ideas. “The break was important and extremely refreshing for me,” he explains. “I felt that renewed vigour as soon as I started writing the material for Resilient, tracks such as ‘Fireheart’ and ‘Soldiers Of Fortune’ just came pouring out of me. The dynamic pace of ‘Soldiers Of Fortune’ in particular kicked off a whole avalanche of creativity in me.”

Rolf explains that Resilient is audibly tougher and more compact than its predecessor Shadowmaker, clearly enjoying his revived zest: “Shadowmaker happened to come about slightly unexpectedly and spontaneously, even for me. The album has brought back the fun I used to have with Running Wild, and my fans will get to feel this fun when Resilient comes out in October!”



The album’s opener will be called ‘Soldiers Of Fortune’, and the title track, ‘The Drift’ and ‘Run Riot’ will be three typical Running Wild numbers. The most outstanding song on the album, however, is called ‘Bloody Island’, with almost ten minutes playing time one of the longest tracks in Running Wild’s career to date. Rolf: “As a composer, it’s of course difficult for me to pigeonhole the new material stylistically, but friends who have heard the demo version of ‘Bloody Island’ claim that it would have fitted in on Pile Of Skulls.”

In terms of lyrics, there are the familiar fusillades that we’ve come to expect from Running Wild: ‘Bloody Island’ and the bonus track ‘Payola & Shenanigans’ see Rock’n’Rolf criticize the curse of greed that we’ve seen specifically in the European banking crisis of recent years. ‘Crystal Gold’ is about the obviously politically motivated privatization of drinking water, and ‘Fireheart’ and ‘Run Riot’ are warnings to Running Wild’s fans to be confident of themselves and vigilant towards authorities. Rolf: “For me, that’s the attitude which stands for that true rock’n’roll feeling.”



Resilient was produced by Rock’n’Rolf himself, supported by Niki Nowy during the mixing and mastering process, as well as Katharina Nowy and Peter Jordan, who contributed a number of guitar solos. For the first time, Rolf worked with precise vocal lines during the demo recordings. “The targeted use of lyrics and vocal melodies during the demo stage was new for me, but it worked out really well and I’ve never gone to the studio as well prepared as I did this time around. I didn’t have to try and test things but only had to put a few finishing touches to my singing at the studio. A definite advantage!”

The question remains whether Running Wild will present this brilliant album live on stage. Rolf: “We’ve had a lot of festival offers for summer 2014 which we will look at carefully. We’ll know more in a few months’ time and will inform our fans as soon as we’ve made up our minds.”

SLEGEST, the solo project of former VREID guitarist Ese, will release their full length album Løyndom (Secret) on October 7th via Dark Essence Records.
The band have debuted their video for the track 'Ho Som Haustar Aleine'. The video, produced by Håvard Nesbo and Orjan Talle, features the band’s newly formed live lineup, which includes founder Ese on vocals and rhythm guitars, Sør (BAAAV, VONBRATEN) on lead guitars, Hövard (BOMBEKLÜCHTER) on bass and Fjøsne on drums.
Recorded partly in Ese’s own Systrond Studio and partly at the Conclave and Earshot Studio with producer Bjørnar E. Nilsen, and mastered by ENSLAVED’s Herbrand Larsen, Løyndom (Secret), is a mix of classic heavy rock and old school black metal that has an distinctly down and dirty, and addictively catchy, groove running through it, according to a press release.
