"Unspoken", the new video from the Savannah-based quintet KYLESA, can be seen below. The clip was directed by Brodie Rush, with art by Tyson Schroeder.

"Unspoken" comes off KYLESA's new album, "Ultraviolet", which was released on May 24 in Europe and May 28 in North America via Season Of Mist. The follow-up to "Spiral Shadow" was recorded at The Jam Room in Columbia, South Carolina, with the band's guitar player/songwriter and sought-after producer, Phillip Cope (BARONESS, BLACK TUSK), once again overseeing production.

The cover artwork for "Ultraviolet" was created by Sean Beaudry and can be seen below. Beaudry, a fellow Savannah resident, did the artwork for the band's "Time Will Fuse Its Worth" reissue.

"Whereas 'Spiral Shadow' was a warm album suggesting concepts of hope, 'Ultraviolet' is a bit colder and darker," explains KYLESA songwriter/guitar player Laura Pleasants. "All of our studio albums have their own unique identity and we've always been a band who strives for something different than what current fads suggest. With 'Ultraviolet', we took a step inward and wrote music that we felt we had to write; this album centers around the multiple themes of loss and you can feel it in the music. Everyone goes through it during their lifetime and this record reflects that experience."

KYLESA issued a rarities collection in November 2012 titled "From The Vaults, Vol. 1", which featured previously unreleased, new and alternate versions of songs spanning the band's catalog as well as one new song titled "End Truth". Cope and Pleasants spent over a year going through their archives preparing the release.

There has been a lot of talk about METALLICA's next album, with singer/guitarist James Hetfield saying they've got a handful of music already and drummer Lars Ulrich stating he'd be surprised if their next record comes out before 2015. So what's the holdup? VH1 Radio Network's Dave Basner asked METALLICA bassist Robert Trujillo what it is about the band's writing process that requires them to take so much time to create their music.

"Basically, we jam but we jam over a period of time," Robert said. "We have a jam room when we go on tour, and obviously we have a studio, and every little riff gets recorded, every idea, every chordal pattern, every progression, every drumbeat, bass line, we have it, we file it away and then we go through the process of elimination.

Trujillo then told VH1 Radio Network more about the riffs they've been working on.

"James Hetfield has, like, a thousand riffs and they're all great," he said. "His worst riff would be another band's best riff. So we're blessed… the blessing is also a curse, because we have so many cool ideas that it becomes challenging to decide what should not survive, at least for me, from where I'm sitting. I'm always like, 'Well that's a good riff!' and James might be, like, 'Eh, nah, I don't like it.' You know what I mean? But then again, maybe two weeks later he may like it. But you gotta have some sort of process of elimination. So that's what we've been going through."

Robert explained that process of elimination to VH1 Radio Network.

"What that entails is that we listen to the ideas, we go out on the floor in our studio, in the jam room, and we play that idea, and we maybe spend maybe a minute jamming it, maybe more," he said. "Sometimes we come up with a full arrangement and then we put it aside and then we revisit all that like eight months later to see how it holds up and then you narrow it down basically to the best ideas to formulate about 15 songs or maybe more."

Although METALLICA is not quite ready to get into the studio and begin recording its 10th album, Trujillo says that working with producer Rick Rubin again is a possibility. Rubin produced the band's last effort, 2008's "Death Magnetic". When asked about possible producers for the next one, Trujillo told South Africa's Muse magazine, "First things first, we've got to start getting our blueprints for songs together and make sure they're the best possible — and then we see what producers are available. We made a great album with Rick Rubin the last time — that's a strong possibility still."

Trujillo added, "Obviously, there are no guarantees in anything in this day and age, but if there is a great producer, who has something to bring to METALLICA, we will investigate it."

While METALLICA has said that they enjoyed the results they got with Rubin, a number of fans complained that the sound on "Death Magnetic" was too compressed and mixed too "hot," making for an unpleasant listening experience.

Industrial metal pioneers MINISTRY will release their final live DVD, "Enjoy The Quiet - Live At Wacken 2012", on August 2. The disc captures the final show of the band's 2012 "Relapse" tour at Wacken Open Air festival in Wacken, Germany. Frontman Al Jourgensen was still battling severe dysentery when he took the stage at Wacken on August 3, 2012 in front of 75,000 screaming fans. Through sheer willpower, he was able to hold himself together and perform in Wacken at his utmost peak with a band of traveling bandits he considered close friends as well as gifted musicians.

Tragically, MINISTRY's longtime guitarist and Jourgensen's best friend Mike Scaccia died less than five months later after tracking songs for MINISTRY's final album, "From Beer To Eternity", which is scheduled for a September 6, 2013 release.

"Mikey was in his version of heaven at Wacken," Jourgensen says. "His guitar playing was the heart and soul of MINISTRY and he loved that band more than everyone — even me. He's the one who convinced me to continue when I swore I was done with it."

"From Beer To Eternity" is dedicated to the memory of Scaccia, as is "Enjoy the Quiet - Live At Wacken", which will debut at the already sold-out 2013 Wacken Open Air festival in Germany August 1-3, 2013. The project is a collaboration between 13th Planet Records and UDR/Wacken Records GmbH.

Jourgensen says: "Not only is this DVD a great recording of Mikey at his absolute best performance, in his element, having the time of his life, it's one of the last live official videos of the band ever. If you didn't see the tour, you'll want to catch what you missed. And if you were there, well, you saw a piece of history and the DVD will make a great souvenir — or a great drink coaster."

"Enjoy The Quiet" captures the transcendent chaos of MINISTRY's sixth-to-last performance in all its kinetic glory. The fourth live MINISTRY release, the DVD may be their best yet. The members were all clean and the chemistry between the musicians was spellbinding.

"Seriously, the Wacken show was special," Jourgensen says. "The crowd was great and the band were so tight and heavy, they blew everyone away."

Usually bands at major festivals draw major reaction for their greatest hits and the audience members cross their arms when the groups play their newer material. But the Wacken crowd was just as excited to hear MINISTRY blast through songs from their 2012 album, "Relapse" — the show opener "Ghouldiggers", "99%ers" and the title track — as they were to hear "New World Order (N.W.O.)" from the band's 1992 classic "Psalm 69: The Way To Succeed And The Way To Suck Eggs".

"Enjoy The Quiet" was shot in high-definition video on a multitude of cameras with 5.1 stereo sound. The DVD features eight songs from the last four MINISTRY albums; "Just One Fix" and "New World Order (N.W.O.)" from "Psalm 69"; and "Thieves" from 1989's "The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste", the record that established MINISTRY as an industrial metal force long before the genre had a name. The DVD also features music videos for "Ghouldiggers" and "99%ers", shot by Zach Passero.

The 2012 Wacken performance marked Jourgensen's second appearance at the legendary festival. MINISTRY had previously played Wacken in 2006 on their "Rio Grande Blood" tour the same day as AMON AMARTH, CELTIC FROST, CHILDREN OF BODOM, CARNIVORE, SIX FEET UNDER and others.

With 16 million records sold worldwide, six Grammy nominations and kudos from industrial and metal bands including NINE INCH NAILS, SLIPKNOT and KORN, Al Jourgensen has earned the title "godfather of industrial metal." Subversive, political and ever able to develop new methods of sonic demolition, Jourgensen remains the voice of generation anarchy at a time when most rock veterans have relented to releasing half-assed albums and touring a yearly greatest-hits package to maintain the upkeep on their mansions.

A short video interview with NIGHTWISH keyboardist and main songwriter Tuomas Holopainen and the band's current touring vocalist, Dutch singer Floor Jansen, conducted at Sauna Open Air can be seen at liRadioRock.fi.

Holopainen has known Jansen for more than 10 years already, having previously toured with her former band, AFTER FOREVER.

Jansen made her live debut as the frontwoman of NIGHTWISH on October 1, 2012 at Showbox Sodo in Seattle, Washington following the abrupt departure of the band's lead singer of the past five years, Anette Olzon.

Asked about the reasons for Olzon's sudden exit from the group, Tuomas told U.K.'s Metal Hammer magazine: "I'm sure it came as a shock to everybody. We came out with a statement [regarding the split], which pretty much says it all. It still is a private matter, and that's all we wanna say about it, like, ever. It was an amicable divorce, so to say, and made in good spirit, and we are just looking to the future. There really is no reason to go back into all the details and all that. I mean, this is not politics, this is a rock band."

Regarding whether there is a chance that Floor will become the official new NIGHTWISH lead singer, Tuomas said: "The way that we have decided is that we're gonna continue with her until the end of the festival season in 2013 — just have fun, just do the shows the best we can. I mean, the atmosphere in the band is so good at the moment, [we want to] just enjoy this what we have right now. They try not to think about NIGHTWISH at all for a few months. Everybody take a little vacation. And we already have the rehearsal place for the next album booked in 2014 — from July to September. So that's how far we have planned. But when we do the last festival show next August, after that, it's gonna be total nothing for a few months. So I would say everything is possible, but that's really not the thing that we want to be thinking about right now, because there's absolutely no reason to."

HALESTORM singer Lzzy Hale and former JUDAS PRIEST/ICED EARTH frontman Tim "Ripper" Owens joined ADRENALINE MOB on stage last night (Sunday, June 16) at Carioca Club in São Paulo, Brazil to perform cover versions of "Come Undone" (DURAN DURAN) and "The Mob Rules" (BLACK SABBATH), respectively. Fan-filmed video footage of their appearances can be seen below.

Hale recorded "Come Undone" with ADRENALINE MOB for the band's 2012 debut album, "Omertá". She previously stated about the collaboration: "After touring together [in 2010], I was approached by legendary drummer and equally as legendary great guy... Mike Portnoy. He was kind enough to ask me if I'd like to join them to remake the DURAN DURAN hit 'Come Undone'. Of course, I said yes, and ran to Mike Plotnikoff's home studio to do it!

"Now, coming from someone who has lived and played with her own zany drummer all her life, I must say, it was next to orgasmic to sing against Mr. Portnoy's stylings. Truly an honor!

"Thank you so much to all the guys in ADRENALINE MOB for including me on their record 'Omertà'. Go get it!"

Asked how he got Lzzy to sing on "Come Undone", Portnoy told Audio Ink Radio: "She's somebody I'm friends with from touring together on Uproar [festival] a few years back. Lzzy and I became good friends, and when the idea for a female vocalist came up for 'Come Undone', I knew she would absolutely kill it! So, I her gave call, and without even hearing it, she was on board because she wanted to do something with me. Once she heard the tune, she was like, 'This is awesome. This is going to be great!'"

He added: "Her voice just fits perfectly. The minute I heard tracks, the hair on the back on my neck stood up. It just gave me chills."

In an interview with Guitar International, ADRENALINE MOB guitarist Mike Orlando stated about Hale: "Lzzy is a female Russell [Allen, SYMPHONY X and ADRENALINE MOB singer]; she is unbelievable. They have the same attack. There's nothing she can't do. Everything she does, she does with this fire."

HALESTORM and ADRENALINE MOB are currently taking part in a short tour of South America and Mexico. In addition to Mexico City, the bands will share the stage in Santiago, Buenos Aires and São Paulo.

UK rockers TIGERTAILZ have inked a deal with Scarlet Records. The label will issue the band's new 5-track Knives EP in September.
Knives is the first new music from Tigertailz in almost six years, a new dawn that sees the band step it up on every level. Founding member Jay Pepper has reunited with long-time drummer Matt Blakout to create (with singer Jules Millis and bassist Rob Wylde) a savage statement of intent. Matt, who has recently played with MOTT THE HOOPLE star Verden Allen, returns to the band at a pivotal moment in it's history. "Broken Dreams", the new video from the Swedish melodic metal five-piece FULLFORCE, can be seen below. The song comes off FULLFORCE's second album, "Next Level", which was released in North America on November 27, 2012 via SPV/Steamhammer. The cover artwork was once again be created by Rainer Kalwitz, who previously worked with PRAYING MANTIS and METAL CHURCH, among others.

"Next Level" was mixed and mastered at Roastinghouse Studios in Malmö, Sweden by Anders "Theo" Theander. The follow-up to 2011's "One" contains 13 songs of "melodic, heavy" metal, according to a press release.

"We have grown and feel confident that our new material will appeal to a much wider audience," guitarist Stefan Elmgren explains. "'One' was a little more complex stylistically, while 'Next Level' sounds more straightforward and compact. And while we didn't have a single ballad on our debut, 'Next Level' features two." The FULLFORCE guitarist is referring to "Strongest Thing Of All" and "Smile At The World", which, according to Elmgren, have a slight SCORPIONS flair. "I always wanted to write a real guitar ballad and am very proud of those two emotional numbers," he said.

Swedish melodic metal band SAFFIRE have uploaded a live bootleg video for 'Paralyzed' on YouTube. The video was recorded at the band's From Ashes To Fire release party at Sticky Fingers in Gothenburg, Sweden on June 1st.
Saffire are inspired by the '70's and '80's rock and metal bands like RAINBOW, DIO, WHITESNAKE, VAN HALEN and BLACK SABBATH. The sound of Saffire can be described as a mix of those bands with a progressive twist, something that makes them stand out in the scene.

A two-minute trailer for "The Bonding", the eighth album from Austrian female-fronted symphonic metallers EDENBRIDGE, can be seen below. It's been more than a decade since EDENBRIDGE first created a stir with the launch of their debut album, "Sunrise In Eden", back in 2000. What presented itself as a young but already immensely talented band has evolved into one of the genre's most independent acts. "The Bonding" sees the group underline its exceptional status in melodic metal and puts an end to their creative hiatus of almost three difficult years.

"We had to come to terms with a number of personal setbacks, which is why the production of the album took longer than originally scheduled," explains guitarist and main songwriter Lanvall, who, among other things, suffered the loss of his father due to suicide. In addition, EDENBRIDGE underwent an unexpected lineup change: bassist Simon Holzknecht had to be replaced by Wolfgang Rothbauer (DISBELIEF, ZOMBIE INC.).

Yet the band's great compositional qualities, the amazing voice of singer Sabine Edelsbacher and EDENBRIDGE's unconditional determination to not only validate, but to surpass the undisputable strengths of each predecessor album are omnipresent.

"The initial ideas were developed as early as 2010, immediately after the release of 'Solitaire', but due to our private trials and tribulations, it took us until autumn 2012 to conclude the recordings for our new album," Lanvall looks back at the taxing months marked by one ambitious goal: to complement the new album by a real orchestra in order to support the material's symphonic direction.

"Our style has always had an unmistakably symphonic quality," says Lanvall, "so the only question was: how do we finance a big orchestra?"

At this point, outside help arrived, in the form of support from fans and sponsors. Thanks to a major joint effort, the band succeeded in bringing to the studio the Klangvereinigung Orchestra of Vienna under the direction of Georg Luksch to cap the atmospheric and at the same time dynamic songs on "The Bonding".

Says Lanvall: "When it was confirmed that the Klangvereinigung Orchestra would come to the studio, I concentrated on writing scores for our songs, so we were able to integrate these additional elements more concisely than ever before. Of course, it would be a mistake to drown our songs, which also feature guitar riffs, choirs and rhythmic details, in orchestra sounds. It was all about positioning the orchestra in a way that would create an additional dynamic level. I think we've succeeded in doing just that on 'The Bonding'."

Another outstanding feature is Sabine Edelsbacher's voice, whose warm, pleasantly melancholy timbre refines every EDENBRIDGE track.

"I've worked very hard on my voice in recent years to intensify not only expression and power, but also clarity and nuances," she explains. "It's very important for me to devote myself totally to my music, to be able to immerse myself 100% in every song."
Which is probably one of the reasons why "The Bonding" has turned into the band's most haunting and ambitioned album so far, including truly impressive numbers such as "Mystic River", "Alight A New Tomorrow", "Shadows Of My Memory" and — more or less as the grand finale — the 15-minute title track, a memorable duet by Sabine Edelsbacher and Erik Martensson (W.E.T., ECLIPSE).

Says Lanvall: "This song is the culmination of the album's general theme, which is about universal energy, about birth and growth, about memories and reflection."

According to the Mail Online, late THIN LIZZY guitar legend Gary Moore left none of his £2 million estate to his devoted partner – because he did not draw up a will. Moore died from a heart attack in February 2011 aged 58 after an alcohol binge.

His girlfriend Petra Nioduschewski, 37, battled in vain to resuscitate him in their room at a luxury hotel in Spain.

Moore had reportedly proposed to her hours before his death.

The couple had lived together at his £635,000 home in Hove.
Probate records reveal that the guitarist left a net estate of £2,088,134 after liabilities.

But High Court documents state that he did not leave a will so, under intestate rules, it is believed his fortune will be split between his four children.

The guitarist had two sons, Jack and Gus, from his marriage to health therapist Kerry Booth, which lasted from 1985 to 1993; and a daughter, Lily, during a ten-year relationship with artist Jo Rendle.

Moore also had an older daughter, Saoirse, from an earlier affair.

Nioduschewski received nothing as probate law does not give anything to the partner of a person who dies without a will.

Twin brothers Jasun (guitar) and Troy Tipton (bass) along with Mike Guy (drums) are the collective creative force behind Abnormal Thought Patterns. In 2008, Jasun wrote and recorded a 12-minute instrumental that would ultimately lead to the founding of this new instrumental band. Prior to forming this group, the trio was the backbone of prog-metal powerhouses ZERO HOUR, releasing five albums. This exactly is what the Californians are continuing with Abnormal Thought Patterns – but this time with instrumental music.

Reunited METAL CHURCH — Ronny Munroe on vocals, Kurdt Vanderhoof and Rick Van Zandt on guitars, Steve Unger on bass, and Jeff Plate on drums — recently entered Vanderhoof's English Channel studio in Washingtion to begin work on its comeback album for a late 2013 release via Kurdt's label Body Of Work Recordings. The band writes on Facebook: "OK, the new album has been recorded and now the mixing process begins!! This could be the best MC record of the METAL CHURCH MK3 era!! Woohooo!!"

Munroe said in a recent interview with Metal Assault that the new METAL CHURCH CD would contain material that is "very reminiscent of the old days with some stuff that's very 'now.'" He added: "There's a bit of… I'm not going to say 'prog' because it's not, but there's a couple of elements in there that are a little bit progressive. For the most part, out of this batch of songs, they really sound more reminiscent of the early days than anything we've done before with this lineup. This excites me very much, and I think the fans are really going to dig it."

Regarding the circumstances that led to METAL CHURCH's breakup in 2009, Ronny said: "Well, in a nutshell, without going into a huge and long story here, it was certain aspects of things that had continued to happen to the band throughout its career. Not having the proper management and the proper people in place that were handling us. You know, we ended up taking some shows we shouldn't have taken and that just led to where Kurdt was really getting fed up and then we all kind of got that way. Basically, we figured before we end up disbanding because of other reasons such as maybe starting to fight with one another or whatnot, we decided to go ahead and end it then. We all ended up friends and we wanted to keep it that way. So I won't go into specifics, but we all know what the music industry is like now compared to what it was like back then. We just didn't have the right people in our camp."

Asked what the band is going to do differently this time around to avoid falling into the same trap, Ronny said: "This time around we're going to release this next record on Kurdt's label. Basically, Kurdt and the band and whatnot are taking a lot more control of the situation. Yes, maybe the downloading thing is even worse than 2009, but also on the other hand, if you know what you're doing and you use the Internet correctly, you can actually have success. Kurdt's been doing that with his prog band PRESTO BALLET and whatnot. In this day and age, the time is right to go and try something on your own. If it doesn't work, you can always end up going out and searching for a label or something. We're going to take a shot at it and see what happens and I think we're probably going to have some decent success."

Norwegian black metallers SATYRICON are putting the finishing touches on their ninth, self-titled studio album for a September release.

Comments SATYRICON frontman Sigurd "Satyr" Wongraven: "I'm about to start my last day in the studio! I had my first February 2nd, so it has been a while, you could say.

"I know I might have to a day of recalls (minor adjustments) and there is mastering too, but this is pretty much it.

"Today the record will be complete.

"Throughout the mix, I have redone a couple of vocal things that needed it and I had some keyboard and piano ideas that I have added.

"It is funny how it takes longer when you try and balance a mix without doing much to the sound.

"I am very proud and I sincerely hope you will like it."

"Satyricon" will feature a guest appearance by Sivert Høyem, the Norwegian singer best known as the vocalist of the rock band MADRUGADA.

Speaking to AOL's Noisecreep at this year's Inferno festival, Satyr stated about SATYRICON's upcoming album: "To me, it sounds very authentic, it's organic-sounding. And in this digital age where music is mostly played through computers, a lot of that analog vibe gets lost in translation when you play music through medias like that, but I still wanna do it because there's nothing quite like it. To me, it just makes everything sound the way it's supposed to sound — it's dynamical; the music is alive, it's not overly compressed, the levels are not pushed. So, musically speaking, it's a very atmospheric record… This record is full of life. There are a lot of surprises here, but I think it's gonna be a record that's gonna help the black metal movement perhaps find a new way for the future."

SATYRICON has always pushed boundaries and never conformed to what was "expected". That mindset continues to this day, as they awill take part in a very special, exclusive show on September 8 at Oslo's Norwegian National Opera House, where they will perform together with Norway's 55-strong National Opera Chorus.

The special event is part of the Ultima Oslo Contemporary Music Festival, and fans of both SATYRICON and the National Opera Chorus can look forward to a very unique and exciting evening, which coincides with the worldwide release of SATYRICON's new CDtitled.

According to The Pulse Of Radio, AEROSMITH's Steven Tyler and Joe Perry along with long-estranged FOREIGNER co-founders Mick Jones and Lou Gramm, were inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame last night (Thursday, June 13) at Manhattan's Marriott Marquis Hotel. Both Jones and Gramm, who parted ways in 2003 when Gramm quit the band, have suffered from health problems over recent years, with Gramm surviving a brain tumor and Jones recently undergoing open-heart surgery. Gramm, who still performs and is a born-again Christian, was replaced by current lead singer Kelly Hansen in 2005. FOREIGNER was inducted by Billy Joel, and Jones and Gramm reunited to perform "Juke Box Hero" and "I Want To Know What Love Is" to a massive standing ovation.

Steven Tyler and Joe Perry were inducted by NICKLEBACK's Chad Kroeger and Ryan Peake, who performed "Sweet Emotion" before doing the honors. Afterwards, the "Toxic Twins" took the stage for an event-stealing rendition of "Walk This Way".

Lou Gramm told The Pulse Of Radio that he was pleasantly surprised that there even was a Songwriters Hall Of Fame. "I had no I. . . Y'know, there's the Grammys, there's the American Music Awards. . . The Songwriters Hall Of Fame awards is a little bit underplayed — you don't hear about it very much. I don't know if it's even televised. When my management told me that Mick and I were nominated, I said, 'What is it? What is that award, y'know?' So, when it was explained to me, I obviously realized it was a great honor."

Mick Jones told The Pulse Of Radio that the Hall Of Fame honor has brought him and Lou Gramm back into a good place again. "Y'know, just having talked to Lou a few times in the last weeks; what I'm glad about is that we're talking," he said. "And there is a basis for more understanding. Y'know, we were talking the other day about our kids, kids that — I haven't seen two of Lou's kids, because they were born pretty much the year that we broke up. [laughs] And I'm looking forward to that. And he was asking about all of my children — y'know, they all grew up, they were on the road, the kids, y'know, we used to have. . . it was a family thing. And just hearing his voice again, it was very emotional, y'know?"

The Pulse Of Radio asked Steven Tyler how a band like AEROSMITH — which has lasted 40 years in the spotlight — can hope to revitalize itself every time out. "Maybe in the new songs," he said. "In writing new songs, you always come up with a new you. I think you should. You can always do another 'Dude Looks Like A Lady', another 'Dream On' — we always tap into something new."

Joe Perry told The Pulse Of Radio that no matter what goes on with AEROSMITH, there's a bond between him and Steven Tyler that is almost unbreakable. "We've been together for so long that in my heart, it's never more than six inches away from Steven's, ever," he said. "Even though we may not talk for a short amount of time or a long amount of time, we've been partners, friends for so long, I always have a feeling deep inside that we're always gonna be together. And that's what makes AEROSMITH as strong as it is."

"Oscuridad", the new video from the South Carolina female-fronted technical death metal band YOUR CHANCE TO DIE, can be seen below. The song comes off the group's sophomore full-length album, "The American Dream", which has just been released via Red Cord Records. The record is now available on iTunes.

According to a press release, "The American Dream" captures the listener with its heavy yet darkly ambient tracks, bringing a new dimension to the band's already polished sound.

Boston black metal manglers INFERA BRUO have announced the imminent release of their sophomore album, entitled "Desolation Unknown". This mind-melting collection of vicious extreme metal prophecies will be available on CD and digital formats on July 1, and in keeping with the band's fierce independent streak, will be handled by the culprits themselves.

INFERA BRUO formed in late 2009 when and feature the considerable talents of past and current members of TRAP THEM, PILLORY, VIRULENCE, and more; members Germanicus, Adroth, Neutrino and Galen have cut their teeth on everything from '70s art punk and post rock to progressive jazz-infused grindcore, epic black metal, and technical death metal, and their schizophrenic skill sets rear their ugly heads in their latest project's multi-faceted approach to extremity. Fans of ENSLAVED, ANAAL NATHRAKH, BLUT AUS NORD and early OPETH, take note!

INFERA BRUO released a self-titled album in 2011 that was recorded at Massachusetts' Studio G by Galen and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music. The record was a blend of dark melodies, atmosphere and electronics and was well-received by media outlets. The band played numerous live shows in the New England area in support of the release, then hit the studio once more at the dawn of 2012 to record a follow-up. The album was once again recorded and mixed by Galen and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege Engineering.

"Desolate Unknown" continues the musical path of the self-titled release while foraging into new territories of sound.

By popular demand, Prosthetic Records will soon issue gatefold double-LP editions of the two albums that rocketed the French progressive tech-death quartet GOJIRA from the European underground to international stardom. "From Mars To Sirius" and "The Way Of All Flesh" — two of the most acclaimed metal releases of the past decade — will be released on vinyl on August 27. Pre-orders are available now.

Originally issued overseas in 2005, "From Mars To Sirius" — released by Prosthetic in 2006, and never before available on LP in North America — was the Western Hemisphere's formal introduction to GOJIRA. One of MetalSucks' Top 10 "best metal albums of the 21st Century so far," the album was supported by U.S. tours with the likes of LAMB OF GOD, CHILDREN OF BODOM, MACHINE HEAD, BEHEMOTH and AMON AMARTH. The gatefold 2LP set will be available in three 180-gram variants: "Eco-Green" (600 copies), "Mars Red" (200 copies) and "Sea Blue" (200 copies), the latter two of which are mail-order exclusives.

Engineered, mixed and mastered by Logan Mader (FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, DEVILDRIVER, FEAR FACTORY), follow-up "The Way Of All Flesh" (2008) cemented GOJIRA's status as one of metal's most important acts. The band's first release to crack The Billboard 200, the album — which features a guest appearance by LAMB OF GOD frontman Randy Blythe — was supported by tours with the likes of IN FLAMES and ALL THAT REMAINS, in addition to a month touring North American arenas with METALLICA. Finnish "battle metal" warriors TURISAS will release their new album, "Turisas2013", on August 26 in Europe and on September 3 in North America. The CD was once again produced by vocalist Mathias Nygård and the majority of the album was recorded by Nygård and guitarist Jussi Wickström in a remote house outside of Helsinki that served as the "Turisas2013" command center and headquarters. Additional recordings were done in three other studios: the drums at Atomic Spa Studio and orchestral recordings at 5 by 5 Studio, both in Helsinki. A lot of vocals and numerous additional acoustic elements were laid down at Sound Supreme Studio in Hämeenlinna where TURISAS also recorded "The Varangian Way" and "Stand Up And Fight".

With "Turisas2013", TURISAS deliberately aimed for a more organic sound.

Comments Nygård: "When it comes to the production, it's just the opposite of the polished and massive 'Stand Up And Fight'. It's raw and dry and in your face, but still maintaining that TURISAS largeness.

"People attest us that we are a great live band, and we wanted the album to be based more around that than orchestral massiveness. It's our most varied record to date and even if some of the songs sound very different, I think the common thread is that every single one has a lot of energy to it."

The mix and mastering was done by London-based producer Jaime Gomez Arellano, who previously worked with GHOST, PRIMODIAL and ULVER, just to name a few.

TURISAS will make select European festival appearances during the summer and will promote "Turisas2013" by embarking on an extensive European tour.

IRON MAIDEN picked up the "Inspiration Award" inspiration award for the band's pioneering role in the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal movement, which emerged in the late 1970s.

Other winners at the event included BLACK VEIL BRIDES who walked away with the "Best Live Band" award, and BRING ME THE HORIZON, who were named "Best British Band."

SLAYER members Kerry King (guitar) and Tom Araya (bass, vocals) were on hand to accept the "Kerrang! Legend Award" in what was their first U.K. appearance since the death of founding SLAYER guitarist Jeff Hanneman.

Kerrang! magazine editor James McMahon said: "What a night. What a night. People lost shoes. People lost phones. More so, people lost dignity. I can't think of any better way the 20th Relentless Kerrang! Awards could have been celebrated. There's been so many reasons to be excited about being a rock fan already this year. I'm genuinely fearful what mayhem the 2014 Awards will bring."

May 22, 2013 was the 200th anniversary of the birth of the composer Richard Wagner. The Berlin choreographer, award-winning dancer and artistic director of the Berlin State School of Ballet Gregor Seyffert (best dancer in the world, winner of the German dance award) is staging an exceptional cross-genre spectacle with a combination of dance, artistry, object theatre, audiovisual media and a live concert that will enable audiences to experience the oeuvre of Richard Wagner. The focus is not on individual works or dramas but on visual presentation of the unique life and work of Richard Wagner, presented on stage in this form for the very first time.

To stage the theme and Wagner's biography in a contemporary way, Gregor Seyffert wants to create new musical highlights by bringing today's popular rock music together with compositions by Richard Wagner. A contemporary equivalent is created by the compositions of the Finnish cello-rock band APOCALYPTICA, which with its unmistakable sound provides a bridge to modern popular music. Both the influence of Wagner's musical legacy as well as the exemplary innovativeness which links Richard Wagner and APOCALYPTICA today will be made tangible.

A magical universe of mythical figures and acoustic worlds is created, which with the help of today's visual genres of circus, dance and media technology symbolize Wagner's pioneering role and the boundlessness of his creative work. Mobile and moveable objects give the performance the same visual dimensions and force as the standards that Wagner's music itself set.
