MUMAKIL:

MUMAKIL: 'Death From Below' Video Released

"Death From Below", the new video from the Swiss grind faction MUMAKIL, can be seen below. The song comes off the band's third album, "Flies Will Starve", which will be released via Relapse on CD, LP and digitally on June 25 in North America, preceded by its release June 21 in Germany/Benelux/Finland and June 24 in the U.K. and abroad. The clip matches the immaculately captured yet crushing audio direct from the album to brutal live footage of the band performing the album's whirlwind opening track, filmed by Schlep at L'Usine, located in the band’s hometown of Geneva, Switzerland, with a legion of the town's finest grindfreaks going berserk in the pit.

Since 2004, the destructive MUMAKIL has infiltrated the grind circuit with a blasting whirlwind approach, through an arsenal of demos and D.I.Y. releases, splits with the likes of BLOCKHEADS, THIRD DEGREE and MISERY INDEX, and two previous LPs, the latter of which, "Behold The Failure", was also released via Relapse in 2009 following their split seven-inch single with INHUME on the label's cult Slimewave seven-inch series in 2007. Touring across Europe, Cuba and beyond has also helped fuel the fires in the engines of this death machine, also taking them to festivals including several installments of Obscene Extreme and more.

Recorded by the bandmembers themselves at Terrier 5 Studio in Geneva, MUMAKIL's first album in four years, "Flies Will Starve" will devastate listeners with twenty-four tracks of precision grindcore teetering on the edge of insanity in the vein of BIRDFLESH, MISERY INDEX, ANTIGAMA and KILL THE CLIENT. The oppressive percussion only lets up to build-up to the next blinding blast, the strings jackhammering forth the band's most death-influenced riffing yet and of course the razorchoked vocal bloodbath is nothing short of nauseatingly awesome.

"Flies Will Starve" track listing:

01. Death From Below
02. Dawn Of Slugs
03. War Therapist
04. Fucktards Parade
05. Built Of Lies
06. Shit Reminders

CORPSET:

CORPSET: 'No Rest' Video Released

"No Rest", the new video from the Finnish death-thrash metal band CORPSET, can be seen below. The song is the title track of the group's second album, which will be released in September via Violent Journey Records. The clip was directed by Matti Kuusniemi of the Findie moviegroup Trash Video. The fast-paced and unique video gives viewers a glimpse of the band’s live energy and aggression, but also serves as a strong statement against information flood of the modern society and depicts how we are becoming the slaves of technology.

A press release states: "Already in their first album [2010's 'Ruins'], the band tastefully combined modern elements with more old-school underground sounds and finished the package with some serious aggression and twisted melodies. Now with the second album, 'No Rest', the band sounds even tighter after cutting out all the slack."

CORPSET is:

Antti Murtonen - vocals
Jari Kelloniemi - guitar
Jami Heikkala - guitar
Timo Hanhijoki - drums
Arto Tissari - bass

SHINEDOWN:

SHINEDOWN: 'I'll Follow You' Video Released

"I'll Follow You", the new video from SHINEDOWN, can be seen below. The song comes off the band's fourth album, "Amaryllis", which was released last year. The CD debuted atop Billboard's "Rock Albums" chart and at #4 overall on The Billboard 200 — SHINEDOWN's biggest chart debut thus far — with over 105,000 units sold its first week out.

"Amaryllis" arrived in stores almost four years after the band issued "The Sound Of Madness". SHINEDOWN frontman Brent Smith told The Pulse Of Radio that even though the band really came together on that last effort, they didn't want to rest on their laurels while making "Amaryllis". "We're never really a band that's gonna ever be satisfied," he said. "We're never gonna be complacent with 'Oh, well, that'll do.' We're the band that's looking for the doors that everyone is afraid to find, because we like that. We like pushing the envelope constantly. It keeps us on our toes."

The release of "Amaryllis" was accompanied by an e-book called "For Your Sake: Inside The Making Of Amaryllis", a 75-page, "completely interactive" e-book that contains commentary, photos, video footage and other content exclusively chronicling the creation of the new record.

SHINEDOWN will headline the 2013 Carnival of Madness tour, which will kick off on August 13 in Cleveland, Ohio. In addition to SHINEDOWN, the bill will feature PAPA ROACH, SKILLET, IN THIS MOMENT and new act WE AS HUMAN.

METALLICA: Official Video Footage Of Sydney Concert

METALLICA: Official Video Footage Of Sydney Concert

The official video recap of METALLICA's February 24 concert in Brisbane, Australia during this year's Soundwave festival can be seen below.

There has been a lot of talk about METALLICA's next album, with singer/guitarist James Hetfield saying they've got a handful of music already and drummer Lars Ulrich stating he'd be surprised if their next record comes out before 2015. So what's the holdup? VH1 Radio Network's Dave Basner asked METALLICA bassist Robert Trujillo what it is about the band's writing process that requires them to take so much time to create their music.

"Basically, we jam but we jam over a period of time," Robert said. "We have a jam room when we go on tour, and obviously we have a studio, and every little riff gets recorded, every idea, every chordal pattern, every progression, every drumbeat, bass line, we have it, we file it away and then we go through the process of elimination.

Trujillo then told VH1 Radio Network more about the riffs they've been working on.

"James Hetfield has, like, a thousand riffs and they're all great," he said. "His worst riff would be another band's best riff. So we're blessed… the blessing is also a curse, because we have so many cool ideas that it becomes challenging to decide what should not survive, at least for me, from where I'm sitting. I'm always like, 'Well that's a good riff!' and James might be, like, 'Eh, nah, I don't like it.' You know what I mean? But then again, maybe two weeks later he may like it. But you gotta have some sort of process of elimination. So that's what we've been going through."

Robert explained that process of elimination to VH1 Radio Network.

"What that entails is that we listen to the ideas, we go out on the floor in our studio, in the jam room, and we play that idea, and we maybe spend maybe a minute jamming it, maybe more," he said. "Sometimes we come up with a full arrangement and then we put it aside and then we revisit all that like eight months later to see how it holds up and then you narrow it down basically to the best ideas to formulate about 15 songs or maybe more."

Although METALLICA is not quite ready to get into the studio and begin recording its 10th album, Trujillo says that working with producer Rick Rubin again is a possibility. Rubin produced the band's last effort, 2008's "Death Magnetic". When asked about possible producers for the next one, Trujillo told South Africa's Muse magazine, "First things first, we've got to start getting our blueprints for songs together and make sure they're the best possible — and then we see what producers are available. We made a great album with Rick Rubin the last time — that's a strong possibility still."

Trujillo added, "Obviously, there are no guarantees in anything in this day and age, but if there is a great producer, who has something to bring to METALLICA, we will investigate it."

While METALLICA has said that they enjoyed the results they got with Rubin, a number of fans complained that the sound on "Death Magnetic" was too compressed and mixed too "hot," making for an unpleasant listening experience.

Video: TESLA Performs Brand New Song

Video: TESLA Performs Brand New Song 'Taste My Pain' In Biloxi

California rockers TESLA performed a brand new song, "Taste My Pain", during their headlining concert last night (Friday, June 14) at Hard Rock Live in Biloxi, Mississippi. Check out fan-filmed video footage below.

TESLA recorded "Taste My Pain" during a two-day (June 5-6) session at J Street Recorders in Sacramento, with plans to digitally release it sometime this summer and include it on a forthcoming album. The tune has all the bandmembers excited to keep working on the new album during breaks in touring and have the full album released in 2014. According to the group, "It's a heavier song with a hard -driving beat and TESLA trademark blazing guitars."

TESLA's latest album, "Twisted Wires And The Acoustic Sessions", was released in July 2011 via Scarlet Records. The CD featured six songs that were recorded back in 2005 at bassist Brian Wheat's J Street Recorders studio — which also serve as the last recordings with original member Tommy Skeoch — and six newly recorded tracks, including acoustic remakes of songs from TESLA's entire catalog and two brand new songs, "Second Street" and "Better Off Without You".

TESLA released a live album, "Alive In Europe!", in Europe on April 23, 2010 via Frontiers Records.

TESLA's latest studio album, "Forever More", sold more than 16,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 33 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was released on October 7, 2008 on Tesla Electric Company Recordings. The European version of the album, which was made available on November 7 via Frontiers Records, contains two bonus tracks not found on the American version.

GHOST: Quality COPENHELL Festival Performance Footage

GHOST: Quality COPENHELL Festival Performance Footage

Quality fan-filmed video footage of GHOST's June 14 performance at the Copenhell festival at Refshaleøen in Copenhagen, Denmark can be seen below.

GHOST's sophomore album, "Infestissumam", sold around 14,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 28 on The Billboard 200 chart.

The CD topped the official chart in the group's home country after selling nearly five times as many copies as the No. 2 album, MISS LI's "Wolves".

The release date of "Infestissumam" was reportedly pushed back a week to April 16 after four compact disc manufacturers allegedly refused to print a piece of artwork that was meant for the deluxe version of the new CD. The manufacturers all took issue with the sacrilegious imagery, inspired by the work of Gustave Dore, which showcases what looks like a forest nymph orgy. The controversial art can still be found on both the vinyl and European copies of the "Infestissuman" CD.

GHOST was forced to modify its name in the U.S. to GHOST B.C. for "legal reasons."

Hailing from Linköping, Sweden, GHOST formed in in 2008. They released their heralded debut album, "Opus Eponymous", in 2010. In 2011, GHOST performed at the annual Download festival in the United Kingdom. The band's fanbase began to swell and not long after added some of hard rock's finest to this group. Additionally that year, GHOST took part in the "Defenders Of Faith III" tour with TRIVIUM, IN FLAMES and RISE TO REMAIN. In early 2012, they embarked on their first tour of the United States and later that year shared the stage with MASTODON and OPETH on their "Heritage Hunter Tour" in North America. That summer the band was invited by METALLICA's James Hetfield to perform on the main stage of METALLICA's first annual Orion Music + More festival.

GEOFF TATE

GEOFF TATE's QUEENSRŸCHE: Providence Fan-Filmed Video Footage

Renowned drummer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Brian Tichy, known for his tours of duty with BILLY IDOL, FOREIGNER, OZZY OSBOURNE and WHITESNAKE, is filling in for Simon Wright (AC/DC, DIO, RHINO BUCKET) in the Geoff Tate-fronted version of QUEENSRŸCHE from June 2 to June 29.

Fan-filmed video footage of the Geoff Tate-fronted version of QUEENSRŸCHE performing on June 7 at Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel in Providence, Rhode Island can be seen below.

Sass Jordan, Tichy's musical partner in their band SOMETHING UNTO NOTHING (S.U.N.), has been asked to sing the duet in "Suite Sister Mary" as Geoff Tate and the boys perform the epic "Operation" Mindcrime" album in its entirety. To make it complete, Tichy and Jordan are opening the shows with a 30-minute "S.U.N. Acoustic Stomp," which is Jordan and Tichy (on guitar and bass drum) as a duo.

Although a lineup for Tate's QUEENSRŸCHE was originally announced in the fall of 2012, things have changed. The band now features Tate along with bassist Rudy Sarzo (OZZY OSBOURNE, DIO, WHITESNAKE, QUIET RIOT), guitarist Kelly Gray (QUEENSRŸCHE 1998-2001), keyboardist Randy Gane and new additions, guitarist Robert Sarzo (QUIET RIOT, HURRICANE) and Wright.

Deadline Music/Cleopatra Records released "Frequency Unknown", the new album from the Geoff Tate-fronted version of QUEENSRŸCHE, on April 23. The CD was produced by Jason Slater at a studio in Northern California.

"Frequency Unknown" is packaged with bonus tracks — four QUEENSRŸCHE classics, newly recorded, including the smash hit single "Silent Lucidity". Guest musicians on the CD include K.K. Downing (JUDAS PRIEST), Chris Poland (MEGADETH), Ty Tabor (KING'S X), Paul Bostaph (SLAYER, TESTAMENT, EXODUS), Lita Ford, Brad Gillis (NIGHT RANGER), Dave Meniketti (Y&T) and Craig Locicero (FORBIDDEN).

DAVE MUSTAINE: Some People Want Me To Keep Recording

DAVE MUSTAINE: Some People Want Me To Keep Recording 'Black Friday' For The Rest Of My Life

MusicRadar.com recently conducted an interview with MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.

On lineup changes in MEGADETH:

Mustaine: "It would be predictable to say this is the best line up. If you go down the list, it was great to play with James Lomenzo and James MacDonough to remember how good I had it and to see different playing styles.

"They were both really good players but Dave [Ellefson] is the right bass player for MEGADETH. Shawn [Drover, drums] has been in MEGADETH longer than Nick Menza was and I think on this new record he's played better than he ever has in his life.

"It sounds like he's a certain metal drummer with a lot of Dave from the FOO FIGHTERS. He was pretty flattered. I didn't want to say, 'Hey, you sound like Dave Grohl' and he be like, ‘I hate alternative!' You never know with drummers, they're unpredictable creatures.

"Then you've got Chris Broderick. We had other guitar player come in after Chris Poland and there always was resistance in that shotgun position. They had to play other people's guitar solos and a lot of the time they would complain and want to improvise it. There is no improvising in MEGADETH. These fans love these guitar parts.

“What would you think if someone went up to do 'Comfortably Numb' and did 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star'? I remember when Ozzy had come out after Randy Rhoads died. A couple of guys filled in for him and they were good players but they wouldn't play Randy's solos and I thought, 'Shame on you, guys. You can do these solos, respect his legend by learning his stuff.' Chris plays all the solos note for note."

On MEGADETH's new album, "Super Collider":

Mustaine: "We have a two-album thing that we do with people. We try to keep things fresh. Sometimes when you have an artistic relationship, it can be chemical in nature and it can become predictable and lose its artistic merit.

"Some people don't want music, they want me to record 'Black Friday' 12 times on a record for the rest of my life. I get it, that's a ferocious song, but there's some great stuff on ['Super Collider'], like 'Built For War'. I love that. I don't know how I’m going to sing it live, but I love it!"

On writing process for "Super Collider":

Mustaine: "When I write, I'll try to figure out how to capture it. Sometimes it'll be my phone or a recording device. I'll transfer it to somewhere until I can sit back and listen to it again.

"Part of the first process is locating everything. I'll be laying in bed and call my voicemail and I'll go, 'na na na, na na na, na na,' with my hand over the phone so I don't wake my wife up. Several times she'd wake up and say, 'Who are you calling?!' So locating the riffs is first and then playing them and translating them to guitar. Then it's piecing it together. It's pretty fun.

"Lyrics are usually the last thing that gets done. I'm a stickler for lyrics. I don't want to sound arrogant, but guitar is fun for me, so it comes natural. The lyric part is where I challenge myself because there's a lot of people that respect how I write."

It was announced on May 30 by SLAYER's Tom Araya (bass, vocals) and Kerry King (guitar) that Paul Bostaph would be behind the drum kit for the first leg of the band's 2013 international tour. EXODUS' Gary Holt is continuing to fill in for fallen guitarist Jeff Hanneman, who died on May 2 from alcohol-related cirrhosis of the liver.

Bostaph was SLAYER's drummer from 1992 until 2001 and recorded four albums with the band — the gold-certified "Divine Intervention" (1994), the 1996 punk covers album "Undisputed Attitude", "Diabolus In Musica" (1998), "God Hates Us All" (2001) that received a Grammy nomination for "Best Metal Performance", as well as the DVD "War At The Warfield" (2001), also certified gold. In addition to SLAYER, Bostaph has been a member of FORBIDDEN, EXODUS, SYSTEMATIC and TESTAMENT.

SLAYER's 2013 itinerary will have the band playing 35 dates that will include headline shows as well as a number of major summer festivals in Europe, Eastern Europe and South America between June and October.

"Paul's a great drummer and a good friend, and we're very happy that he's decided to rejoin the band," said Araya. "We're still pretty numb from the loss of Jeff, but we don't want to disappoint our European and South American fans, and we need to begin moving forward... Having Paul back in the band makes that a whole lot easier."

Original SLAYER drummer Dave Lombardo sat out the band's recent Australian tour due to a contract dispute with the other members of the group. Filling in for him was Jon Dette (TESTAMENT, ANTHRAX).

Video: HALESTORM

Video: HALESTORM's LZZY HALE Joins ADRENALINE MOB On Stage In Mexico City

HALESTORM singer Lzzy Hale joined ADRENALINE MOB on stage last night (Wednesday, June 12) at José Cuervo Salón in Mexico City, Mexico to perform a cover version of "Come Undone" (DURAN DURAN). Fan-filmed video footage of her appearance can be seen below.

Hale recorded "Come Undone" with ADRENALINE MOB for the band's 2012 debut album, "Omertá". She previously stated about the collaboration: "After touring together [in 2010], I was approached by legendary drummer and equally as legendary great guy... Mike Portnoy. He was kind enough to ask me if I'd like to join them to remake the DURAN DURAN hit 'Come Undone'. Of course, I said yes, and ran to Mike Plotnikoff's home studio to do it!

"Now, coming from someone who has lived and played with her own zany drummer all her life, I must say, it was next to orgasmic to sing against Mr. Portnoy's stylings. Truly an honor!

"Thank you so much to all the guys in ADRENALINE MOB for including me on their record 'Omertà'. Go get it!"

Asked how he got Lzzy to sing on "Come Undone", Portnoy told Audio Ink Radio: "She's somebody I'm friends with from touring together on Uproar [festival] a few years back. Lzzy and I became good friends, and when the idea for a female vocalist came up for 'Come Undone', I knew she would absolutely kill it! So, I her gave call, and without even hearing it, she was on board because she wanted to do something with me. Once she heard the tune, she was like, 'This is awesome. This is going to be great!'"

He added: "Her voice just fits perfectly. The minute I heard tracks, the hair on the back on my neck stood up. It just gave me chills."

In an interview with Guitar International, ADRENALINE MOB guitarist Mike Orlando stated about Hale: "Lzzy is a female Russell [Allen, SYMPHONY X and ADRENALINE MOB singer]; she is unbelievable. They have the same attack. There's nothing she can't do. Everything she does, she does with this fire."

HALESTORM and ADRENALINE MOB are currently taking part in a short tour of South America and Mexico. In addition to Mexico City, the bands will share the stage in Santiago, Buenos Aires and São Paulo.

BLACK SABBATH

BLACK SABBATH's OSBOURNE Explains Why Drummer TOMMY CLUFETOS Doesn't Play On '13'

Kory Grow of SPIN.com recently conducted an intervow with BLACK SABBATH members Ozzy Osbourne (vocals) and Geezer Butler (bass). A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.

SPIN.com: Rumor has it that [producer] Rick Rubin made you all listen to your self-titled debut album before recording "13". Did that make you cringe?

Osbourne: I remember going to [Rubin's] house, and he was going on about the first album. I was like, "What the fuck's the deal, man? Why the first album? We've all done a billion albums since then." He goes, "You're not a heavy metal band. The first one was a blues album." And I go, "Yeah." And he goes, "That's what I'm looking for." I said, "A blues album?! You want us to do a blues album?" I didn't know what the fuck he was on about. I thought he was fucking nuts. But I got the fucking punch line three weeks later. It wasn't that he wanted a blues album so much as he wanted the blues feel from us.

SPIN.com: [Drummer] Bill Ward didn't play on "13". Let's set the record straight: What happened?

Osbourne: To be absolutely truthful with you, I can't really remember. It was such a long time ago. There was the business side of it and the money side of it. We just didn't have the time to keep the people waiting another fucking ten years. The drummer thing was a pain in the butt. We would have loved Bill Ward to step up to the plate, but it never worked out. I still love him to death. It's sad that it didn't work out. But hey, we've got an album, we're all really happy. I don't suppose Bill is that happy.

SPIN.com: Was Brad Wilk [RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE] your first choice to replace Bill [during the "13" recording sessions]?

Osbourne: I don't really want to go into it. We had Tommy [Clufetos, SABBATH's touring drummer and member of Ozzy's solo band] on hold. And it just didn't work out. The way it was dealt with was wrong, because you can't keep people waiting for nothing. We were going to use Tommy at the beginning, and Rick was against it. And then it turned out that it wasn't dealt with professionally and I got a bit pissed off. Anyway, Tommy's doing a great job on the road with SABBATH.

Singer DAVE EVANS: Why I Left AC/DC

Singer DAVE EVANS: Why I Left AC/DC

On May 29, Chad Doing, host of the "Flight 750" radio show on Sports 750 The Game, conducted an interview with original AC/DC vocalist Dave Evans. You can now listen to the chat using the audio player below.

On how AC/DC got started:

Evans: "I'd been in a band earlier called VELVET UNDERGROUND (not to be confused with Lou Reed's group)… We broke up eventually and I was without a band so I put an ad in the Sydney Morning Herald, for an ad looking for a singer that sang THE ROLLING STONES and FREE and all that kind of thing, which I was into, and it happened to be [AC/DC guitarist] Malcolm Young on the end of that line... He was putting a band together and he'd heard of me and, of course, I'd heard of him. He asked me to come over that afternoon to Newtown, a suburb of Sydney, to have a jam with Colin Burgess on drums and another guy, Larry Van Kriedt. So I arrived there and we jammed and they all shook hands and we all shook hands and I was in the band."

On why he eventually left AC/DC:

Evans: "When our single ('Can I Sit Next to You Girl?') was released, we had our third bass player, third drummer, and third manager. And I didn't get on with those guys. I didn't know them. They were from Melbourne, we were a Sydney band. And it was morphing into something I didn't like. The songs were fantastic. The hit record we had was fantastic. The shows were great and all that kind of stuff. But I wasn't getting on with any of them. And those times, Malcolm Young was getting very jealous all the time because I just happened to be popular with the girls and Malcolm didn't have a girlfriend. So he was very jealous. So Malcolm and I sort of fell out because of that. And then the manager, we all thought he was doing the wrong thing by us as far as money was concerned because we were doing a lot of shows — major shows in Australia; sometimes two or three shows an evening — and we were absolutely flat broke. We were pooling our money together to buy hamburgers and French fries… So I left the band."

Evans was a member of AC/DC from the band's inception in 1973 until 1974. Following his departure from AC/DC, Dave Evans formed the wild hedonistic rock band RABBIT, Melbourne '80s rock outfit DAVE EVANS AND THUNDER DOWN UNDER, and lastly DAVE EVANS AND HOT COCKEREL. Dave Evans has also toured as a solo act, and in 2008 released "Judgement Day" through MGM.

FLESH CONSUMED: New Album Update

FLESH CONSUMED: New Album Update

California death metallers FLESH CONSUMED are working on material for their third full-length album, "Hymn For The Leeches", for an early 2014 release via Unique Leader Records.

Commented vocalist and founding member Corey Athos: "The lineup we have for 'Hymn For The Leeches' is monstrous!! Eric Cohen (bass; ex-ARKAIK) has been with the band since 2011. I love working with him and bouncing ideas off of one another. More recently, Shaune Kelley (DIM MAK, ex-HATE ETERNAL, RIPPING CORPSE) has joined FLESH CONSUMED on guitar and Brent Williams (ATROCIOUS ABNORMALITY, ex-LUST OF DECAY) will be destroying the kit. I will be handling vocals and putting together interludes like in previous albums.

"This album is FLESH CONSUMED on steroids. Extremely dark and heavy!!!

"There will be multiple guest spots, including Steve Tucker (ex-MORBID ANGEL) and Matti Way (ex-DISGORGE, ABOMINABLE PUTRIDITY, PATHOLOGY, HYDROCEPHALIC), both of which I have respected and looked up to for the better part of 15 years. We are currently filling a third guest vocal spot.

"We will be using various studios, including Soundlab (NILE) for drums and 16th Cellar for mastering.

"We are very proud to be a continuous part of the Unique Leader Records roster and to be back on fire.

"This album will destroy!!"

FLESH CONSUMED's latest album, "Ecliptic Dimensions Of Suffering", was released in September 2010 via Unique Leader Records.

SAVIOUR

SERPENT & SERAPH:

SERPENT & SERAPH: 'Tears Of Niviane' Video Released

"Tears Of Niviane", the new video from Sacramento, California female-fronted symphonic death metallers SERPENT & SERAPH, can be seen below. The clip was directed and edited by Mike Sloat, who has previously worked with TESTAMENT and MACHINE HEAD. The song features shredding guitar work from Claudeous Creamer (DRAGONLORD), intricate keyboards from Brian McCarver, and a wide diversity of vocal styles from Kas StClare.

"Videographer and producer Mike Sloat of Roaring Mouse Productions was simply brilliant in bringing our concept for 'Tears Of Niviane' to life," states StClare. "His creativity really gave it that extra flare that it needed."

"Tears Of Niviane" comes off SERPENT & SERAPH's upcoming full-length release, "Under Darkened Skies", set to drop this fall. The CD was produced by Juan Urteaga at Trident Studios and aptly presents the band's unique brand of technically influenced death metal with a classic power metal twist.

"Under Darkened Skies" is SERPENT & SERAPH's second release, following their 2011 EP, "In The Wake".

SERPENT & SERAPH began its musical journey in 2009 when Creamer teamed up with StClare with a goal to exploit genres with no limitations. Soon joined by the excellent musicianship of Matt Chaco (bass) and Joe Lopresti (drums, percussion), their goals began to emerge. The lineup was still missing an element, until McCarver introduced his unique keyboard playing to the band in 2010.

RAVEN:

RAVEN: 'Rock Until You Drop - A Long Days Journey' DVD Packaging Photo

Veteran British/American heavy metal trio RAVEN will release "Rock Until You Drop - A Long Days Journey" two-disc DVD as a digipak via SPV/Steamhammer on the following dates:

Germany: June 21
Europe: June 24
USA/Canada: July 2

A photo of the DVD packaging can be seen below.

The effort contains four hours and 30 minutes of concert footage from around the world, in the studio, backstage, interviews with the band, the fans, musicians and producer. It tells the story of over three decades of trailblaizing metal mayhem!

From the well-documented early days as NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) frontrunners, RAVEN's albums "Rock Until You Drop", "Wiped Out" and "All For One" virtually invented both the speed metal and power metal genres — during the trailblazing USA tours of the '80s introducing the States to "athletic rock" as well as giving opening acts like METALLICA and ANTHRAX their first tours, through the doldrums of the late '80s/early '90s when a grunge-obsessed media wrote off so many acts, RAVEN has consistently proved to be both survivors par excellence and in a genre of grim imitation shown that they are "the real thing". Where so many of their contemporaries have either faded creatively or become parodies of themselves, RAVEN have consistently pushed the envelope while retaining their unique sound and attack — both in the studio & in their true element, onstage!

In a music scene filled by clones nurtured with a cookie-cutter mentality, the unique personality, power and humor of the three band members has always shone through. The crazed vocals and bass playing of John Gallagher, the full frontal guitar assault of brother, Mark Gallagher, and the punishing polyrhythmic pounding of drummer Joe Hasselvander all combine to form a sonic battering ram unique in rock!

RAVEN recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of its seminal album "All For One" by playing select dates dubbed "All For One Forever", during which they performed many tracks from the album, including some rarely or never performed live. Originally released in 1983, "All For One" was not only the band's breakout LP, it was also a massively influential slab of classic metal. The band's groundbreaking and high-energy approach was a vital element in the development of thrash.

RAVEN's latest album, "Walk Through Fire", was released in the U.S. on March 30, 2010 (one day earlier in Europe through SPV/Steamhammer) via Metal Blade Records. The CD was recorded at Assembly Line Studios with engineer/mixer Kevin 131 (PROJECT: FAILING FLESH, DECEASED, DYSRYTHMIA, GARDEN OF SHADOWS).
