THE OVERSEER: 'Amend' Video ReleasedWith a week to go until the release of "We Search, We Dig", Arkansas hard rockers THE OVERSEER are premiering their new video for "Amend" — one of the standout tracks from their dynamic debut, available in stores and online June 19 from Solid State Records. The clip, directed by UNDEROATH's Daniel Davidson (Isthmus Studios), puts stunning visuals alongside the standout track.
Since premiering last month, "Amend" has generated an online buzz for the band's ability to mix soaring melody with blistering riffs and package that into compact songs that feel neither redundant nor self-indulgent.
"I have mixed emotions about shooting this music video," says drummer Abishai Collingsworth. "It was one of the most fun yet exhausting days I've ever been through. Make no mistake — playing through a song 100 or so times can wear you out! But we endured it and are really pleased with the results. Daniel Davidson was really easy to work with and I certainly wouldn't be disappointed if we worked with him again!"
Recorded earlier this year at Atlanta's Glow In The Dark studios, "We Search, We Dig" is a huge, dynamic debut that calls to mind artists like UNDEROATH, THRICE and CAVE IN though with a clear, distinct voice that never emulates those artists directly. With this release, THE OVERSEER delivers hard-hitting, uncompromising hard rock that belies the members' young age. This isn't "cash in on the latest trend" music, it's "sweat and tears" hard rock, with a little blood thrown in for good measure. 1

STEVE 'ZETRO' SOUZA's HATRIOT: 'Blood Stained Wings' Video Released"Blood Stained Wings", the new video from HATRIOT, the new San Francisco Bay Area thrash metal band fronted by Steve "Zetro" Souza (EXODUS, TENET, DUBLIN DEATH PATROL, LEGACY), can be seen below.
HATRIOT recently parted ways with drummer Alex Bent and is currently seeking a replacement.
Commented the group: "We would like to fill this position with a musician who works well with others, has gear, transportation, and can tour on short notice. One requirement for the open tryout is we are looking for a full playthrough of our four-song demo currently available for download at ReverbNation.com/hatriot. Once you have learned our demo and it is tight, mistake-free, please feel free to Facebook message our page or contact Cody Souza about meeting up to perform the demo live to us, before actual tryout is given. We are currently talking to two record labels and an album will be recorded before summer's end. HATRIOT has a lot of big things in the future; we just want to make sure we find the right musician to keep us moving forward."
In a recent interview with Metalholic.com, Zetro called Bent "a monster" and "probably the best drummer I've seen, ever." He added, "He's like a machine. He plays drums constantly, like eight hours a day. He's an animal in the studio, he's an animal live. I don't know if HATRIOT would be the same with another guy."
Regarding HATRIOT's musical direction, Zetro told Metalholic.com, "It's in the vein of typical Bay Area thrash, but these guys are a lot younger, so there's gonna be some blast-beats in there. There's gonna be some kind of death [metal] approach to it, a little bit. 'Cause these guys are new. They're raw, and they're fast, young, heavy, hard and aggressive, and I'm trying to convey that along as well."
He added, "These new kids seem to understand what we did in the '80s, but still bring a little bit of a new essence to it. We put that together with what I write vocally and it's turned out to be really, really killer. It's good stuff."
HATRIOT's lineup includes Zetro's 21-year-old son Cody, who got his first bass as a present from his father after Zetro bought it off current EXODUS bassist Jack Gibson. "I told him," said Zetro, "You have to try out [for the bassist position in HATRIOT if you want to be in the band]. There's no nepotism here, boy. If you can hang, you're on. So he actually tried out, and he got the gig."
HATRIOT's December 23, 2011 concert at The Avalon in Santa Clara marked the band's first live performance with new guitarist Miguel Esparza. 1

SCORPIONS Resurrecting Previously Unfinished Songs From '80s, '90s For New ReleaseDuring a recent interview with ArizonaRepublic.com, guitarist Matthias Jabs of German hard rock veterans SCORPIONS was asked what "different things" he is planning on doing following the band's current farewell tour. "I don't know," he said. "Do you know what you're doing three years from now? The SCORPIONS will not break up. We're giving up the constant touring, into the studio, out of the studio, back on the road. At some point, you have to say, 'OK, thank you very much.' We have a project which we will probably release next year. We have so much film material. We will work on something like an anthology, some kind of box set. And nobody has said we'll never hit the stage again, for one show somewhere in the world. Why not? If somebody wants to see us desperately, yes, OK, here we are. There's also the chance ... that we would get terribly bored just sitting around at home, and we would call each other and go, 'Let's play a few shows.' But the intense touring, the way we've been doing it for decades now, it had to come to an end. The one-off show, fine. We were approached to play for the opening of the World Cup Championships in 2014. That is not confirmed, but those opportunities, we would not let slip away. We're scheduled until December 15 this year. That's the last show. It's somewhere in a small town in Germany. After that, we don't know."
When asked if the SCORPIONS' next project will consist of new material, Jabs said, "The first three months of this year, we took off to work in the studio, resurrecting unfinished songs from what some people say was our best time, leftovers from the albums 'Blackout', 'Love At First Sting', 'Crazy World', 'Savage Amusement', all the albums from the '80s and early '90s. There's so much strong material, but it hasn't ever been finished, especially the lyrics. They're like 'Blah blah blah blah blah.' It was recorded like you would record a demo, no click track, anything. But the vibe is great because it's from the time when we were starting out. Everything I played back then, I remember when I found a new riff, I would get excited. It's slightly different today because I know it all. I've heard it all. So it's much harder to get excited about the simplest or sometimes half-genius riff. But there was a definite spark in those old recordings and the idea is to redo them with today's technology and take it further as a tribute to the fans." 9

AC/DC Singer: No More Long ToursIn a brand new interview with Fox411, AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson was asked when fans can expect to see the band back on the road. "We're going to London in about three weeks; we're just going to have a sitdown like we usually do," he explained, befoe adding, "I wouldn't like to do another [tour] like the last one. The last one was two years. It broke your body in half."
He continued, "The thing with our band is we never want to go on stage and have people looking at us and saying, 'Oh you should have seen them ten years ago.' So we're going to take it as it come and see what happens. I doubt we'll be doing a big one. If we could do some festivals, I wouldn't mind that all. That would be lovely."
AC/DC guitarist Malcolm Young recently confirmed to Classic Rock magazine that the band is working on the follow-up to 2008's "Black Ice". But he said fans may have to wait longer than expected.
"I've been doing some jamming on some song ideas but I do that all the time, as do the rest of the band," he said. "We are still working. But we had a long rest between 'Stiff Upper Lip' and 'Black Ice', so I think we need a couple of years to recuperate and work on it a bit more." 4

HOUR OF PENANCE Announces New DrummerItalian death metal horde HOUR OF PENANCE has announced the addition of drummer James Payne (HISS FROM THE MOAT, BROKEN HEART COLLAGE) to the group's ranks.
Commented HOUR OF PENANCE guitarist Giulio Moschini: "I've known [James] for quite a long time and he's a very talented drummer. We're proud to have him on board! James will be playing with us starting at Hellfest this weekend, and all of our dates on the Extreme fests here in Europe."
Payne is currently endorsed by Tama, Vic Firth, and Zildijan and hosts his own YouTube show in which he has interviewed several drummers, including Derek Roddy (HATE ETERNAL, NILE), Inferno (BEHEMOTH), Paul Mazurkiewicz (CANNIBAL CORPSE) and more. HOUR OF PENANCE's fifth album, "Sedition", was released on March 27 in North America, April 2 in the U.K. and April 6 in mainland Europe via Prosthetic Records. The follow-up to 2010's "Paradogma" (Unique Leader) was recorded at Cellar Studio in Rome with producer Stefano Morabito. 1

WAR FROM A HARLOTS MOUTH Recording New AlbumGerman deathcore act WAR FROM A HARLOTS MOUTH recently entered Dailyhero Recordings in Berlin to begin recording its fourth album for a late 2012 release via the band's new label home, Season Of Mist.
Commented the group: "Paul [Paule Seidel] is currently recording the drum tracks for the last song over at Dailyhero Recordings, while Simon [Hawemann, guitar] is adding some final guitar and bass tracks at his studio. In other words, the instrumentals are as good as done and we are heading towards the mix in big steps, while Nico [Webers] is still working on the vocals. Everything is sounding heavy as fuck already, so we can't wait to move on.
"We're excited to be back at the halls of Dailyhero Recordings and can't wait to see the new songs shaping up. All the guitar and bass recordings have been finished at Simon's Moulder Masters studios already, so we only have to finish up the drums, vocals and mix here. Simon is also taking over the mastering duties this time around, so a lot of this record is actually produced and engineered by him, which is a new experience for us as a band. We're stoked with the results so far, so now it can only get even better! We are really getting a kick out of this new material and feel like it's coming out very extreme, discordant and quite unique."
WAR FROM A HARLOTS MOUTH's third album, "MMX", was released in the fall of 2010 through Lifeforce Records.

KAMELOT Guitarist Says New Vocalist Fits The Band 'In Terms Of Sound, Writing And Image'KAMELOT's official Facebook page has been updated with a brand new interview with the band's guitarist/mainman Thomas Youngblood. The question-and-answer session follows below.
Q: So how are recordings [for the new KAMELOT album] going?
Thomas: It's going fantastic!! We just finished the choir sessions and they feature some amazing guests including Amanda Somerville [TRILLIUM, AVANTASIA] and Elize Ryd [AMARANTHE].
Q: Elize Ryd has been announced to guest on the album. Any other guests you can reveal?
Thomas: Yes, Elize has been part of the KAMELOT tour for two years now and we wanted to feature her on the new album. She sounds amazing! We have some surprises still in store for guests. Stay tuned.
Q: You signed new record deals for the new album. How did that come about?
Thomas: We were approached by many record companies. The offers were very good. In the end, we wanted to work with people that had the right vision for us now and in the future. The band is still growing and we are working with people that are 100 percent committed to KAMELOT and our fans.
Q: The new album's been announced to recall albums like "Karma" [2001] or "The Black Halo" [2005]. Can we talk about a return to KAMELOT roots or will you keep something of the dark atmosphere of "Poetry For The Poisoned" [2010]?
Thomas: The dark mood will be there, but I feel we missed some melodic aspects in the music over the last few releases. The theme of the album is quite dark and the storyline is a bit dark, so to speak. The music came out really beautiful, lush, melodic and really special. Working with Oliver [Palotai, keyboards], [producer] Sascha [Paeth; EDGUY, AVANTASIA, RHAPSODY] and our new vocalist proved to be an amazing experience.
Q: Have you heard anymore from [former KAMELOT singer] Roy [Khan]?
Thomas: Before making the final choice on the new singer, we did correspond via e-mail. I know he's in good health, working in Norway. When he quit KAMELOT, he also chose to quit the music business and seems to be very happy. A page is turned, it's a new era for KAMELOT! It's very exciting and I can already tell you it's gonna be great.
Q: Looking forward to introducing the new singer to your fans?
Thomas: First, I have to say the fans will love the new singer. We love what we hear and that was the biggest test. Of course, there will be fans that hold on to the past and I understand that, but things change and you can either move forward or live in the past. I was humbled by the amount of singers that applied for the spot, some totally unknown and others are names that every metal fan would know. In the end, we chose the guy that fits KAMELOT in terms of sound, writing and image.
Q: Can fans expect more studio videos, like with the "On The Road" series?
Thomas: Since we are recording in different studios, it's a bit difficult to do the "On The Road"-style videos. Also I feel it takes some of magic out and mystery regarding the studio sessions. We have a few clips we may feature on the bonus disc of the upcoming digipak and deluxe version of the new album. But the "On The Road" series will crank back up very soon; you will all get a sneak peek into the KAMELOT life on tour. And if you come to the shows, you will also be on video, if you want!!
Q: How many tracks on the new album?
Thomas: Looks like 10 tracks and some bonus tracks for each region. We will release a limited digipak, deluxe digipak, double-fold vinyl, and limited-edition box set with lots of goodies for the hardcore fans!!
Q: Will you play some of the new songs on summer festivals?
Thomas: We are discussing the setlist now. At the moment we have the idea to play at least one new song.
Q: At fall 2012, you will embark for a massive tour throughout North America and Europe. What can you say about it? And can we expect a world tour to follow?
Thomas: We plan to visit our favorite cities, bringing the new stage setup and lighting package. We also plan to visit new countries and regions that are not as frequently visited in 2013. Expect some serious and mega fun concerts on the horizon.
Q: Final words about the past months and the months to come?
Thomas: Thanks for the support of all KAMELOT fans, old and new, young and old and in every corner of the globe! Your trust and faith in us has been inspiring and with the new album and tour we will all celebrate together! 4

HALESTORM Singer Performs GUNS N' ROSES Classic With SLASH; Video AvailableHALESTORM singer Lzzy Hale joined Slash (VELVET REVOLVER, GUNS N' ROSES) on stage this past Saturday, June 10 at Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam, The Netherlands to perform the GUNS N' ROSES classic "Out Ta Get Me". Fan-filmed video footage of her appearance can be seen below.
Slash's second solo album, "Apocalyptic Love", sold approximately 38,000 copies to debut at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 album chart on Wednesday morning (May 30). The disc, released through Slash's own label, Dik Hayd (Decayed) Records, follows up 2010's self-titled solo debut, which moved 60,000 copies in its first week of release.
Unlike Slash's solo debut, which featured different vocalists on each track and a number of guest musicians, Slash has recorded all of the new CD with his touring band, MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS.
Slash and his band have embarked to Europe for a month-long tour before starting a new North American run on July 12 in Portland, Oregon. 6

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH: 'Coming Down' Video Released"Coming Down", the new video from Las Vegas metallers FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, can be seen below. The visually arresting clip that addresses teen suicide was directed by Nick Peterson, with Randi Wilens serving as executive producer, in association with NXTdream Films LLC. The final screen of the music video offers a call to action in sharing, "Don't ignore the chance to get help for you or someone you know who might be in crisis. Call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline now at 1-800-273-TALK (8255), suicidepreventionlifeline.org."
Last week, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH announced a suicide prevention initiative promoting the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. In cooperation with the Lifeline, the band has filmed a public service announcement, which will be placed on all broadcast, cable and web outlets interested in supporting the initiative.
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH guitarist Zoltan Bathory shared, "Through support and awareness, suicide can be prevented. FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH is promoting the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline to build awareness that there is support out there for those in need through the Lifeline's service, and others. This is an important initiative we have taken on to place it on the consciousness of the public that you are not alone when in need." Dr. John Draper, director of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline offered, "By sharing the message with their fans that suicide is preventable, the members of FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH will undoubtedly save lives. We are thrilled that they are helping get the word out about this valuable 24/7 service." The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is administered by Link2Health Solutions Inc., a wholly owned affiliate of the Mental Health Association of New York City.
The Metal Hammer Trespass America Festival has pledged $1.00 for every ticket sold this summer to provide for its network of crisis call centers. The 31-date tour, headlined by FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, will also feature KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, TRIVIUM, POP EVIL, EMMURE, GOD FORBID, and BATTLECROSS.
The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is an asset for the general public that also provides a special service for veterans and members of the military. When calling 800-273-TALK (8255), the individual dialing will be linked to the nearest of over 150 local crisis centers across the country to speak with a trained crisis worker. The caller may "press 1" if he/she is a veteran, military service member or concerned about one, which will route the call to the confidential national Veterans Crisis Line.
Earlier this year, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH returned from a visit to military bases across Kuwait, where they touched down for performances and or visits on bases that included Camp Moreell, Camp Beuhring, Camp Patriot and others. This was the band's second visit overseas to perform for the troops in two years . At the time, singer Ivan Moody shared, "What a stellar way to start the spring. Playing for the troops is always an honor and seriously humbling. Can't say enough about the experience — everyone was so respectful and warm. I hope we helped morale and it was a privilege to give back to those that give so much for us." 3

STONE SOUR: New Album Title RevealedSTONE SOUR has set "House Of Gold And Bones" as the title of its fourth album, a two-part double concept effort which is being recorded at Sound Farm Studios, just outside STONE SOUR's home base of Des Moines, Iowa, with producer David Bottrill (TOOL, MUSE, STAIND). According to STONE SOUR singer Corey Taylor, part 1 will contain 12 songs and will be released in October via Roadrunner Records, with the second 12-track part to follow next year. Each disc will include one half of the story, the lyrics for which fans will have to visit the band's official web site. Taylor says, "Once I lock in the company who will help me put it together, there will be a comic book as well." Songtitles set to appear on the album include "Absolute Zero", "RU486", "A Rumor Of Skin" and "Taciturn".
When asked about the progress of the recording sessions for the fourth STONE SOUR album, Taylor told Kerrang! magazine at this past weekend's Download festival in England, "It's nearly done. We have about a week left of recording. I have a handful of vocals that I need to finish up. And then it's just going in and finishing up some guitars, some ear candy here and there. But it's fantastic. It's so immense. It's probably the biggest thing that I've tried to do. There's a lot of multimedia involved. There's a whole story that's gonna go along with the albums. And it's all under wraps right now. There's gonna be a bunch of big announcements next week that I'm gonna unleash on Twitter, and I'm just gonna start giving people more information, including the titles. But we're actually working on getting a comic together for DC Comics. We're trying to figure out how we can do it. And they've never done anything like this before, so it's gonna take some time. But hopefully… We're definitely gonna have a digital version up online and then probably a couple of months later the hard-copy version. So as a comic fan, I'm kind of losing my shit right now."
As previously reported, SKID ROW's Rachel Bolan laid down the bass tracks for the new STONE SOUR CD. He has described the material on the record as "fucking fierce."
Taylor recently told Revolver magazine about STONE SOUR's forthcoming CD, "Picture [PINK FLOYD's] 'The Wall' crossed with ALICE IN CHAINS' 'Dirt' with some good heavy blasts in there," Corey said. "The heaviest song is a total ass-kicker that sounds as if SLAYER and ANTHRAX had a baby. Then, there's a darker bluesy dirge that has the vibe of LED ZEPPELIN's 'In My Time Of Dying'. There's even a little industrial vibe. It's definitely going to blow people's fucking minds.
Taylor added that he came up with a very ambitious concept for the disc.
"The album is a morality play about a man who's standing at the crossroads of his life trying to figure out what to do next," he said. "He's going, 'Do I move foward and evolve? Do I become more responsible or do I run backwards and pilfer the basket of youth?' Sometimes it's romantic to live in the mistakes that you made when you were 20, and condemn yourself to perpetual adolescence."
Guitarist Josh Rand recently said that the CD will be "another progression for the band," adding. "Musically, we have always challenged one another to push things to our limits, and this record is no exception."
STONE SOUR parted ways with bassist Shawn Economaki earlier in the year. The band's guitarist Jim Root stated about the split, "A lot has happened in the past year… We need to move forward and [there will] be more detail when the time is right. He's still a great friend and we're in touch."
Economaki left STONE SOUR in April 2011 in the middle of the "Avalanche Tour" to deal with "personal issues." He was temporarily replaced by Jason Christopher, who has since joined Sebastian Bach's touring band. 3

MADBALL: Another New Song Available For StreamingNew York hardcore legends MADBALL recently spent five days at the Mana Recording Studios in St. Petersberg, Florida with producer Erik Rutan (HATE ETERNAL, CANNIBAL CORPSE, MORBID ANGEL) recording their new EP, "Rebellion", to be released later this month via The BNB Label, a brand extension of frontman Freddy Cricien's Black N Blue Productions group. The six-song effort contains four new tracks and newly recorded versions of two cuts from the band's legendary 1989 seven-inch single, "Ball Of Destruction".
"Rebellion" marks the first MADBALL recording with former UNEARTH and THE RED CHORD member Mike Justian, who has served as MADBALL's touring drummer for the past year.
Speaking to AOL's Noisecreep, MADBALL vocalist Freddy Cricien stated about the process of re-recording 23-year-old material, "I was 12 when we did that original recording, and I don't have the best memory when it comes to a lot of things, but I do remember that session."
He added, "We recorded 'Ball Of Destruction' at Don Fury's studio on two tracks, live, with no overdubs. You went there, paid him a few hundred dollars and bang everything out. That session had me, Vinnie Stigma (AGNOSTIC FRONT) on guitars, my brother Roger (Miret, AGNOSTIC FRONT) on bass and Will Shepler (ex-AGNOSTIC FRONT) on drums. We also had Craig Setari (SICK OF IT ALL) and Mark Ryan (SUPERTOUCH) on backing vocals. As gritty as the original recording was, it was cool to be able to go in and re-record a couple of the tracks for this new EP."
"Rebellion" EP track listing
01. Reap What You Sow
02. The Beast
03. Get Out ("Ball Of Destruction" re-recording)

DUBLIN DEATH PATROL To Release New Album In AugustDUBLIN DEATH PATROL (DDP) — the band featuring TESTAMENT singer Chuck Billy and former EXODUS and LEGACY (pre-TESTAMENT) vocalist Steve "Zetro" Souza — will release two albums on the Mascot Records label, 2005's "DDP 4 Life" and 2011's follow-up effort, "Death Sentence", on August 14.
Billy originally teamed up with fellow Dublin, California ragers Willy Lange (RAMPAGE, LAAZ ROCKIT), Souza and three of the Billy brothers as well as some other local Dublin boys.
The seeds were planted in or about 1980 with a Bay Area thrash band called RAMPAGE, featuring neighborhood kids from Dublin, California — Chuck Billy, along with his brother Andy Billy, Greg Bustamante, Ernie Boehm and Willy Lange. The guys were about 18 years old and had all known each other since they were about five. They grew up listening to a variety of bands — from LED ZEPPELIN, KISS, AEROSMITH to THE DEAD KENNEDYS and THE SEX PISTOLS — and were influenced by the sounds of the late '70s and early '80s.
Souza recalled how the idea to reactivate the ultimate DUBLIN DEATH PATROL came to him: "Originally it was Willy's and Chuck Billy's idea. The first I heard of getting this project together was at a Raider pre-season game in 2005. Willy was telling me his idea of DDP and getting the old RAMPAGE guys together. But this version would have Chuck and I singing on every song and include different musicians that grew up in Dublin to play on this record. Well, I was right in."
After six months of writing, arranging and restructuring songs new and old. the guys went in to record the first DDP album through strains and pains with Vinnie Wojno. Souza boldly claimed, "This is what we have to give to the metal world, a kick-ass, straight-up aggressive and in-your-fucking-face album of music by guys just from Dublin, California. Represented by members of TESTAMENT, LEGACY, EXODUS, VIO-LENCE, LAAZ ROCKIT, TESLA, HEIST and a group of headbanging Dubliners that deserved status. For fans of the Bay Area thrash whom I love and will always, I hope they dig what Chuck and I have done vocally on the DDP project."
In 2011, DUBLIN DEATH PATROL went back into the studio with the same team to record their crushing second album, "Death Sentence". That same year, DDP played the famous Belgian metal festival Graspop Metal Meeting. Needless to say, the crowd went completely nuts.
DUBLIN DEATH PATROL is:
Chuck Billy - Lead Vocals
Steve Souza - Lead Vocals
Willy Lange - Bass
Andy Billy - Rhythm/lead guitar
Steve Robello - Lead/ Rhythm Guitar
Greg Bustamante - Rhythm Guitar
Danny Cunningham -Drums
Troy Luccketta - Drums
John Hartsinck - Lead Guitar

SLIPKNOT: 'Antennas To Hell' Details RevealedFor their millions of fans around the world, SLIPKNOT are as much a culture and a way of life as they are a band. To completely engage with all of the perseverance, ingenuity, artistic integrity and holistic vision of SLIPKNOT's creative output in all of its forms, is to fully embrace every facet, and to find community in counterculture and true strength in survival.
SLIPKNOT is like no other band the rock scene has ever encountered and to celebrate two decades of game-changing existence, the band will release "Antennas To Hell", a "best-of" collection documenting its inimitable career, on July 24. The album is scheduled to be released via Roadrunner Records while the band is spending its summer as the main attraction of the 2012 edition of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, as well as curating and headlining the inaugural year of their very own festival, Knotfest.
The time is right for a "best-of" collection from the band, as it captures the first chapter of SLIPKNOT — a chapter where they've gone from unknown to the one of the biggest rock bands in the world — all on their own terms.
This summer's Mayhem and Knotfest outings celebrate the band and the life of late bassist Paul Gray, and will serve as "the end of the beginning" for SLIPKNOT — this summer's performances will be the fan's last chance to see them as they are now. Of course the band will continue — but just as inevitable with SLIPKNOT is the fact that the band will evolve — and the future is unwritten. "Antennas To Hell" serves as a companion to that celebration. The two-disc version of "Antennas To Hell" includes a bonus live CD that captures the band's 2009 performance at the legendary Download festival in the U.K. The live disc showcases the band playing a set of career spanning classics in front of 80,000 rabid fans. The journey from — "(sic)" — track 1 on their self-titled debut — to "Snuff" — the haunting No. 1 rock track from 2008's "All Hope Is Gone" — proves that. The album features fan favorites, live classics and well-known radio hits.
Furthering the immersion in the band's culture, this summer will see the release of the band's first ever mobile application, "Wear the Mask". Part mask builder, part social connector for fans, and 100% SLIPKNOT in its look and execution, the app brings the SLIPKNOT mindset into previously uncharted territory — the mobile devices of fans worldwide. "Wear the Mask" will be released simultaneously with "Antennas To Hell".

CANNIBAL CORPSE: Video Footage Of SWEDEN ROCK FESTIVAL PerformanceFan-filmed video footage of CANNIBAL CORPSE's June 9 performance at the Sweden Rock Festival in Sölvesborg, Sweden can be seen below.
CANNIBAL CORPSE's twelfth studio album, "Torture", sold 9,600 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 38 on The Billboard 200 chart. The band's previous CD, "Evisceration Plague", also opened with 9,600 units to land at No. 66. That was more than 50 percent higher than the opening tally of CANNIBAL CORPSE's 2006 CD, "Kill", which entered the chart at No. 170 after shifting more than 6,000 copies.
"Torture" was again produced by HATE ETERNAL's Erik Rutan at his own Mana Recording Studio in St. Petersburg, Florida as well as Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, Texas, and features the maniacal cover art by longtime CANNIBAL CORPSE artist Vincent Locke.
While "Torture" marks the latest progression in the band's sound, it also witnesses a return to what drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz accurately terms "the frenzied attack of 'Butchered At Birth' (1991) or 'Tomb Of The Mutilated' (1992)," infusing the band's advanced musicianship with the raw savagery that haunted their earlier releases, and in the process conceiving the definitive CANNIBAL CORPSE record. 6

Germany's DOWNFALL OF GAIA Signs With METAL BLADE RECORDSMetal Blade Records has announced the signing of Germany's DOWNFALL OF GAIA. The band's concept album, "Suffocating In The Swarm Of Cranes", will be released later in the year.
DOWNFALL OF GAIA eschews clichés and delivers a monolithic, yet melodic, wall of sound. The band formed in 2008 in Hannover, Germany and has released a demo CD, a split tape, a split LP, and a full-length album.
DOWNFALL OF GAIA started out as a crust band, but quickly developed further and has become much more difficult to compare to any other bands. Over the years, their songs became longer, slower, heavier; their influences range from doom to black metal, from down-tempo, to sludge, and hardcore. Their music has an epic and majestic vibe, with enough peaks and valleys to keep listeners rooted firmly to the earth.
Since day one, the four-piece has been an active live band, not only performing Germany, but also throughout the world: Italy, the U.K., France, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, and the United States have been witness to their live performances. No matter if they are playing a tiny club or a big festival, DOWNFALL OF GAIA are well known for their intense live shows.
DOWNFALL OF GAIA comments on their deal with Metal Blade Records: "We feel quite honored to be a part of the Metal Blade family and to work with one of the most notable labels in the world! We are really excited about our Metal Blade debut and the future! A big thank you to all the people who supported us in any way during the last years, without you all of this wouldn't be possible!"
DOWNFALL OF GAIA is:
Dominik Goncalves dos Reis - Vocals/Guitar
Peter Wolff - Vocals/Guitars
Anton Lisovoj - Vocals/Bass
Johannes Stoltenburg - Drums 2

SLASH's Rhythm Section To Guest On JAKE E. LEE's New Solo AlbumSlash's bassist Todd Kerns and drummer Brent Fitz have recorded a guest appearance on a song from the forthcoming solo album from former OZZY OSBOURNE/BADLANDS guitarist Jake E. Lee. Kerns states, "Anyone who knows anything is as excited about this album as I am! Gonna be rad."
Lee's new solo album is being recorded with the help of guitarist Ronnie Mancuso of BEGGARS & THIEVES, whose 2011 video, "We Come Undone", featured an appearance by Jake.
According to the All Music Guide, Lee helped Ozzy Osbourne score two of the most commercially successful releases of the singer's long and illustrious career — 1983's "Bark at the Moon" and 1986's "The Ultimate Sin". Lee eventually joined up with another former BLACK SABBATH singer (albeit briefly), Ray Gillen, and formed the LED ZEPPELIN/classic rock-esque outfit BADLANDS. Subsequently, Lee played briefly with a band called WICKED ALLIANCE before setting off on his own, issuing his solo debut, "A Fine Pink Mist", in August of 1996.
Jake E. Lee's "covers" album, "Retraced", was released in the U.S. in April 2005 via Shrapnel Records. All the songs were recorded in a "power trio" format ala BADLANDS and the tracks for the project were cover songs along that style (bluesy power rock). 6

HALESTORM made history with its electrifying new single, "Love Bites (So Do I)". The track — featured on the Pennsylvania-based band's breakthrough new album, "The Strange Case Of…" — has ascended to No. 1 at Active Rock radio outlets nationwide, marking the first ever female-fronted group to top the format's airplay ranking.
HALESTORM will celebrate its sensational success with an epic summer touring schedule, comprising a U.S. headline trek, high-profile festival appearances, a series of much-anticipated European dates, and a number of support slots alongside AVENGED SEVENFOLD.
"The Strange Case Of…" is shaping up as HALESTORM's biggest release thus far. LIV KRISTINE: 'Libertine' Cover Artwork, Track Listing, Release Date RevealedNorwegian singer Liv Kristine (LEAVES' EYES, ex-THEATRE OF TRAGEDY) will release her fourth solo album, entitled "Libertine", on September 7. The CD was recorded at Mastersound Studio in Steinheim, Germany — the facility owned by her husband, Alexander Krull (ATROCITY, LEAVES' EYES) — and marks Liv's collaboration with Dutch musician J.B. van der Wal (ABORTED, DR. DOOM), who recently joined LEAVES' EYES and ATROCITY as the two bands' new bassist.
"Libertine" track listing:
01. Interlude (intro)
02. Solve Me
03. Silence
04. Vanilla Skin Delight (duet with Tobias Regner)
05. Panic
06. Paris Paris
07. Wait For Rain
08. Love Crime
09. Libertine
10. Meet Me In The Red Sky
11. The Man With A Child In His Eyes (KATE BUSH cover)
The "Libertine" cover artwork can be seen below.
Commented Liv: "'Libertine' is truly a milestone in my career; it sums up my most important artistic experiences in my creative journey through life. The more rock and metal-based songs like 'Vanilla Skin Delight' (including superb male vocals from Tobias Regner, the third-season winner of 'Deutschland Sucht Den Superstar', the German reality show in the style of 'American Idol'), 'Paris Paris', 'Solve Me' and title track, 'Libertine', certainly expose some of those magic moments which fans of THEATRE OF TRAGEDY enjoyed and treasured on 'Aegis' and 'Musique'. The ballads 'Silence', 'Love Crime' and 'Meet Me In The Red Sky' will go straight into you hearts, each of them being absolute individual in their emotional expressions and musical compositions. Alex gave each track a perfect sound in the mix by emphasizing on each song's characteristic accent and atmosphere."
She added, "I can't wait to let you hear this album; it is exceptional to me both personally and in my artistic career, and I can't wait to play these songs for you live! The cover and booklet artwork is completed as well. It took a while for me, personally, to find the artistic expression I wished to expose in my pictures, however, Heile and Alex guided me into the right direction, for which I am so happy and grateful."
Liv debuted the title track of her new album, "Libertine" (see video below), at a special concert on December 2, 2011 at Alte Seminarturnhalle in Nagold, Germany under the banner "One Night With Liv Kristine". Liv performed acoustic versions of her original songs as well as a few covers, including tracks from LEAVES' EYES and THEATRE OF TRAGEDY.
Liv Kristine's third solo album, "Skintight", came out in North America in September 2010 via Napalm Records. The follow-up to 2006's "Enter My Religion" was recorded at Mastersound Studio and the artwork was created by Stefan Heilemann. 3

ORPHANED LAND Guitarist QuitsGuitarist Matti Svatizky has left Israeli progressive folk metal masters ORPHANED LAND. His statement reads as follows:
"To all of ORPHANED LAND's fans, from this moment on I will no longer be a part of the band. We had great years together and I think that our achievements were beyond only the musical grounds. However, it is time for me to move on with my life. There are issues both on the personal and the professional levels that made me come to this decision, which has not been an easy one, and which I'm whole with and sure that will bring many positive things in the future. I wish the band many more fruitful years of creation and joy, and I wish you, the fans, many more years of enjoyment of what ORPHANED LAND has to offer, and who knows, maybe we'll meet again someday in the future, this way or another. Forever Orphaned…"
Added the remaining members of ORPHANED LAND: "How can you sum up two decades with a brother and a partner? The answer is simple: you can't. Matti is deeply immersed in ORPHANED LAND history and his uniqueness will surely be missed. All we can do is respect Matti's decision and wish him the best the future can offer for him. ORPHANED LAND was always a home for friends and shall remain such a place for Matti. Forever Orphaned, beloved brother!"
ORPHANED LAND's concert DVD, "The Road To OR-Shalem", was released last October in Europe and November in the U.S. via Century Media Records.
According to a press release, "The Road To OR-Shalem" "is the premier Middle Eastern progressive metal crusaders' DVD debut and documents the band's incredible mission to unite warring factions in their home region through the power of music. Filmed in Tel Aviv, Israel in December 2010, 'The Road To OR-Shalem' features nearly two hours of stunning live material, as well as a second bonus DVD. The bonus DVD material includes additional live footage, a behind-the-scenes documentary and video clips." 3
