"Blacklands", the new video from San Francisco doom-tinged metallers CASTLE, can be seen below. The clip was directed by Jaan Silmberg for Toronto-based Pistoltrixx.

"Blacklands" is the title track of CASTLE's sophomore album, which is scheduled for an April 28 European release via Germany's Ván Records. The artwork for the CD, created by Russian artist Denis Forkas and entitled "Monstrous Goat Cauldron", can be seen below. CASTLE guitarist and songwriter Mat Davis stated about the new album, "It's an altogether different beast to 'In Witch Order'. The debut took five years start-to-finish, whereas the new one was done relatively quickly, in six months. It was deliberate on our part to do it like that. We wanted to have a live feel and an edginess to the album and I think we got that. It sounds bigger and hits harder."

The metal juggernaut known as HELLYEAH — featuring Vinnie Paul Abbott (PANTERA, DAMAGEPLAN), Chad Gray and Greg Tribbett (MUDVAYNE), Tom Maxwell (NOTHINGFACE) and Bob "Zilla" Kakaha (DAMAGEPLAN) — has released the "War In Me" digital single via iTunes. The song comes off the band's third album, "Band Of Brothers" , which will be released on June 5 via HELLYEAH's new label home, Eleven Seven Music. The CD was recorded in Dallas, Texas at Vinnie Paul's home studio, VP's Upstairs Studio, and was produced by the band and Jeremy Parker (GODSMACK, EVANESCENCE), who also served as engineer.

Having produced track after track of heavy-hitting, in-your-face, feel-good rock and roll on their previous two albums (2010's "Stampede" and 2007's self-titled debut), HELLYEAH takes a slightly different musical direction on "Band Of Brothers". Drawing on their former bands' collective metal roots for inspiration, the influences and style of MUDVAYNE, PANTERA, DAMAGEPLAN and NOTHINGFACE are immediately recognizable in tracks such as "Band Of Brothers", "War In Me" and "Rage Burn", while the party anthem "Drink, Drank, Drunk" retains the essence of earlier HELLYEAH.

Commented HELLYEAH singer Chad Gray, "I'm really excited about what we've done on this new album. I've always separated MUDVAYNE and HELLYEAH as much as I could, even though it was my voice. Melodies, lyrics and just the overall style of writing were different. With 'Band Of Brothers', I just quit being afraid of who I am in relation to this band. I think we've all really gotten back to the original roots of what we've done individually and brought it together on this album. As an artist, as long as you're painting with your own brush, no one can compare or challenge you. I just painted with a bigger, heavier brush than I had with HELLYEAH in the past. In a recent interview with Loudwire, Vinnie stated about "Band Of Brothers", "On our first two records, we were a new band. We really wanted to branch out and expand and experiment with all different styles. We all come from traditional metal bands and backgrounds, so it was a great breath of fresh air to play in a band that was rock 'n' roll, blues and Southern rock. We got that out of our system and got really focused on going back to our metal roots. It's heavy, focused, groove-oriented and I'm excited about it."

Jim Marshall, founder of Marshall Amplification, has died at the age of 88.

Producer and musician Cameron Argon's alter ego, solo underground death metal project DISFIGURING THE GODDESS, will release a brand new album entitled "Sleeper" on April 24. Within the last few years, despite never performing live, DISFIGURING THE GODDESS has become a recognized name in the metal community among young fans and industry elites alike due to an impressive viral and word-of-mouth buzz about the project. A music video for "Isolated" was filmed earlier this year in Gothenburg with 11Frames Productions and will make its onlie debut during the coming weeks.

Italian progressive metallers NEVERDREAM will release their fourth album, "The Circle", in the fall. The CD will be based on a dramatic concept story about family abuse, religious fanatism and a tragic hero. For the first time in the band's history, the album will be released digitally only and as a full free download.

"The Circle" takes its audience to the city of Corpus Christi in Texas in the middle of the '80s. A family father, strictly religious but violent at the same time, abuses his son sexually and puts pressure on him not to tell anyone about it. He tells his son about a belt of security that he built around the city with the help of God and that protects all good people from the evil. The evil in his eyes are betrayers, liars as well as all women.

One day the son's mother forces herself to go to the police to report the sexual abuse. The father goes to prison and the son begins to hate his mother — blinded by the ideologies of his father, he moves away from this godless place. He eventually meets a girl and falls in love with her. But from this moment on, a number of murders begin to happen, with the victims all young women found with sewed eyes.

The story's main character, detective Thomas Curtis, is played and sung by German progressive icon Andy Kuntz of VANDEN PLAS who was previously involved in the rock opera "Christo". Kuntz currently works as a singer at a theater in Kaiserslautern.

NEVERDREAM's third CD, 2010's "Said", was produced by Achim Köhler (PRIMAL FEAR, EDGUY, MASTERPLAN) and was described in a press release as "a journey throughout the historical, social and cultural life of the cradle of human race."

TROLLFEST, the self-proclaimed "true Norwegian Balkan metal" band, has unveiled the artwork for its upcoming album, "Brumlebassen", due in August via NoiseArt Records. Responsible once again for the amazing images that vividly depict the story of what will be the band's fifth full-length album, is Swedish cartoonist Jonas Darnell, who originally created the iconic metal duck from TROLLFEST's "Villanden" album, and has worked with the band ever since. Terje Johnsen, who has been working on the design side of TROLLFEST's releases since the "Brakebein" album, has once again teamed up with Darnell to produce the finished package.

Like all TROLLFEST albums, "Brumlebassen" tells a story about one of the characters that inhabit the fantastical universe created by the band. This time the story is about Brumlebassen the Bee Keeper, whose task it is to care for the bees and brew the Honey Mead that is much loved by the Trolls. Brumlebassen adores his bees so much that he would secretly like to become one of them himself and he is therefore depicted wearing a bee costume!

TROLLFEST, known for their exuberant stage performances which have won them myriads of fans wherever they play, recently announced that Tor Einar Rognhave (stage name St Beinhard) would be joining the band as a permanent member, to replace Per-Olav Wiik, whose personal commitments no longer allowed him the time needed for the extensive schedule of live appearances. Immediately after their show at Norway's Inferno festival, the band set off for a 20-date European tour with KORPIKLAANI in April, followed by appearances at ExtremeFest in Austria, Germany and Switzerland in July, Metalcamp in Slovenia in August (where something special has been planned), and the Heidenfest tour of Europe in October and November.

On May 22, internationally renowned guitar superstar Joe Bonamassa will release a brand new solo album, "Driving Towards The Daylight" (J&R Adventures) — his "lucky" 13th CD. The effort was produced by Kevin "Caveman" Shirley (BLACK CROWES, AEROSMITH, LED ZEPPELIN) at Studio At The Palms in Las Vegas, Nevada; The Village Recorder in Los Angeles, California; and The Cave in Malibu, California.

According to a press release, "Driving Towards The Daylight" is a balanced back-to-basics album that highlights Bonamassa's signature style of roots blues with rock-and-roll guts, while honoring the traditions of the original blues musicians. "We've taken some really traditional old blues songs — the HOWLIN' WOLF song 'Who's Been Talkin'?' and the ROBERT JOHNSON song 'Stones In My Passway' — and we've tried to imagine how they would do them in a rock context," said Shirley. "It's a very exciting return to the blues in a very visceral way. It's vibrant and it's gutsy and it's really, really rugged."

To challenge Joe and move him out of his comfort zone, a unique group of musicians was gathered, including AEROSMITH guitarist Brad Whitford, Blondie Chaplan (guitar), Anton Fig (drums and percussion), Arlan Schierbaum (keyboards), Michael Rhodes (bass), Carmine Rojas (bass), Jeff Bova and THE BOVALAND BRASS, Pat Thrall (guitar), and Brad's son Harrison Whitford (guitar).

Brad Whitford, speaking from the studio in Vegas, said, "This is definitely more influenced by the stuff that the guys and musicians in this room love, early '60s English and American rock and blues. I guess we'll never get that out of our system and its fun to come in here and find our own path down that highway."

The album features four Bonamassa-penned originals, including the bruising opener "Dislocated Boy", the road warrior title track (and first single) "Driving Towards The Daylight", "Heavenly Soul" and "Somewhere Trouble Don't Go". Other tracks include Bonamassa's versions of TOM WAITS' "New Coat Of Paint", "Lonely Town Lonely Street" by Bill Withers, "A Place In My Heart" by Bernie Marsden of WHITESNAKE, and "I Got All You Need", by Willie Dixon, widely considered the "father of modern Chicago blues." On the album closer, Australian rock singer Jimmy Barnes sings lead vocals on his 1987 hit "Too Much Ain't Enough Love".

Veteran NWOBHM (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal) band BLACK ROSE has inked a deal with the German record label Metalizer to release its new album, "Cure For Your Disease", on CD for the first time in the summer of 2012. Previously the album was only available as a download but the new release will be a limited 1,000 pressing featuring new artwork and photography.

In other news, BLACK ROSE will play a nostalgic warm-up gig before flying out to Germany for their appearance at the Headbangers Open Air festival in Brande-Hörnerkirchen on July 28. The gig will take place on Thursday, July 26, at a venue BLACK ROSE used to play regularly in the 1980s — The Swan Hotel in Billingham, Teesside.

BLACK ROSE opened this year's Hammerfest "Hammer Of Thor" on the VIP night, Thursday, March 15 at Pontins Holiday Park in Prestatyn.

TRIVIUM's latest album, "In Waves", sold 22,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 13 on The Billboard 200 chart — the highest U.S. chart entry of the band's career. The group's previous CD, "Shogun", opened with just under 24,000 units back in October 2008 to debut at No. 23. The effort followed up "The Crusade", which registered a first-week tally of 31,000 copies in October 2006 to enter the chart at No. 25.

"In Waves" was recorded primarily at Paint It Black Studios in Orlando, Florida (with only the drums having been tracked at Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, Florida) with the production/mixing team of Colin Richardson (MACHINE HEAD, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE, SLIPKNOT, FEAR FACTORY) and Martin "Ginge" Ford, along with engineer Carl Bown. Florida metal legends NASTY SAVAGE will play their last concert ever on Saturday, May 5 at the Crowbar in Ybor City, Florida.

NASTY SAVAGE rose to popularity in the mid-1980s primarily due to lead vocalist "Nasty" Ronnie Galetti's over-the-top stage performances (in early shows Ronnie would smash television sets over his head). After landing a deal with Metal Blade Records, the band released three full-length albums and an EP between 1985 and 1989. NASTY SAVAGE split up a short time later and played some reunion shows in the late 1990s before officially reforming in late 2002.

NASTY SAVAGE's "comeback" album, "Psycho Psycho", was released in Europe in March 2004 through Metal Blade Records. The CD contained 12 songs in total, including a new version of the demo classic "Savage Desire".

Los Angeles-based goth-metallers VAMPIRES EVERWHERE! have teamed up with Alternative Press to premiere a brand new song, "I Can't Breathe". Check it out using the audio player below.

Earlier this year, VAMPIRES EVERYWHERE! let fans know they would be taking a darker turn with their upcoming sophomore release, and the disc would be stripped of all Auto-Tune effects. British extreme metallers CRADLE OF FILTH will enter the studio at the end of April to begin recording their tenth album for a fall release. The band's vocalist, Dani "Filth" Davey, states, "Thus far we have recorded nine demos (with a final two to follow swiftly on their heels in the coming weeks) which all sound fabulously twisted, though it is hard to put into words just exactly how this album is sounding that would not add confusion to general expectations. I would personally liken it to a hubbub of CRADLE through the years but with a fresh energetic streak racing prominently throughout… it's fast, innovative, melodic, brutal and utterly uncompromising, VERY cinematic (there is a noticeable rise of the orchestral thanks to Martin [Skaroupka, drums] who has been working alongside Paul's [Allender, guitar] feverous songwriting both on these and the drum tracks, which are astonishing to say the least…), romantic, necromantic, angry and reflective. Fuck me, it's a new CRADLE OF FILTH album, and a really bloody good one at that, if the demos alone are taken as a foretaste of the thunderstorm to come."

He continued, "The album itself is not a concept album this time around (you think you're sighing with relief!), but a bestiary of songs all revolving around a chimerical theme. "Midnight In The Labyrinth", an orchestral album which reinvents tracks from CRADLE OF FILTH's first four albums and includes choirs, strings and some narration, will be released on Record Store Day (April 21) in participating countries and as a strictly limited-edition two-disc set of delectable magic in the rest of the world.

Commented Davey: "April 21st is the day that our much-anticipated 'Midnight In The Labyrinth' orchestral album is to be released, on what is to be known as Record Store Day (which is slightly ironic I know, seeing as no-one buys records these days, let alone ventures, God forbid, into a real life music store!) and it is sure not to disappoint. Candlelight Records has set a June 19 North American release date (one day earlier in Europe) for "Eremita", the fourth album from former EMPEROR vocalist/guitarist Ihsahn. Recorded and produced at Telemark's Ivory Shoulder Studios, with additional tracking completed at Notodden's Juke Joint Studio and Seattle's Envisage Audio, "Eremita" was mixed by Jens Bogren (OPETH) at Fascination Street Studios in Örebro, Sweden. Alongside Ihsahn, the album features performances from drummer Tobias Ornes Andersen (LEPROUS), saxophonist Jørgen Munkeby (Norway's SHINING), guitarist Jeff Loomis (ex-NEVERMORE), and vocalists Devin Townsend, Einar Solberg (LEPROUS), and Heidi S. Tveitan (STAROFASH). The album's packaging was created by award-winning Spanish designer Ritxi Ostariz.

"Eremita" begins a new musical chapter for the highly regarded musician; his previous album, "After", forming the final part of a planned trilogy on its release in early 2010. Offering nine new songs to his growing worldwide audience, "Eremita" is the longest and most spirited of Ihsahn's solo recordings.

Reflecting on the recording process, Ihsahn notes, "This is right where I want to be musically, with lots of room for dynamics and expressive variety. Tobias and Jørgen have really added to the organic vibe I was going for and have contributed to the overall feel with their fantastic musicianship. Exhibiting Ihsahn's highly-trained guitar and keyboard skills, "Eremita" (Latin for "hermit") is a journey that is sure to find an expanded audience for the revered 36-year-old.

Christian hard rockers P.O.D. (PAYABLE ON DEATH) have completed work on "Murdered Love", their first new studio album in four years. Due out this summer, the CD is the band's long-awaited follow-up to "When Angels & Serpents Dance". "Murdered Love" sees the band reunited with longtime producer Howard Benson, who also produced the band's massive "Satellite" album alongside hit CDs for Kelly Clarkson, THEORY OF A DEADMAN, DAUGHTRY, THE ALL AMERICAN REJECTS and MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE.

Fans can now listen to "Eyez", the first preview track from "Murdered Love", at www.payableondeath.com. The song features special guest vocals from Jamey Jasta of HATEBREED.

"'Eyez' is the first 'look'from our new album coming out this summer. We wanted to come out hard for all our die-hard warriors," says P.O.D. lead vocalist Sonny Sandoval.

P.O.D. will kick off a series of tour dates and festival shows on April 28 and will stay on the road throughout 2012.

P.O.D. last year filed a lawsuit against the band's former record label, Tennessee-based INO Records, claiming that the company breached its contract by refusing to pay the group a $400,000 advance for its next album.

According to the lawsuit, which was filed in Nashville, the group informed the label in November 2010 that it was ready to start recording the follow-up to 2008's "When Angels & Serpents Dance". The band claims INO refused to pay the option, explaining that P.O.D. had " 'abandoned' its obligations (to INO) under the agreement."

"When Angels & Serpents Dance" sold 34,000 in the United States in its first week of release in April 2008 to debut at position No. 9 on The Billboard 200 chart.

The band's previous CD, "Testify", registered a first-week tally of just over 54,000 back in February 2006 to land at No. 9.

"When Angels & Serpents Dance" featured guest appearances from the MARLEY SISTERS, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES singer Mike Muir and HELMET guitarist Page Hamilton.

Mike Van Dyne, drummer and founding member of Virginia-based melodic tech-death metal masters ARSIS, has announced his departure from the group. He says in a statement, "After five label releases and hundreds of shows in 19 countries, it's time to move forward and pursue my career full-time.

"The last fully-completed ARSIS song I contributed to was 'Since The Shadows' (released online last year), and it's one of my favorites.

"Through the years, I've accomplished everything in music I wanted to do. Not many people can say that, and I consider myself fortunate for having so many great experiences."

Van Dyne performed on ARSIS' highly-acclaimed debut album, "A Celebration Of Guilt", as well as "A Diamond For Disease" and "United In Regret" (Willowtip Records), "As Regret Becomes Guilt: The Demos Of Arsis" (Negative Existence Records), "Starve For The Devil" (Nuclear Blast Records), and "Since The Shadows" (2011 online release). From 2009 to 2011, Van Dyne toured Europe and North America extensively with the band, and performed on all of ARSIS' early tours from 2003-2007. Van Dyne has also recorded and performed notable live shows with the New York-based hardcore band CRIMSON MASK.

Formed in 2000 by Berklee prodigies James Malone and Mike Van Dyne, ARSIS has grown a strong and steady following for their unique intellectual brand of melodic death metal through various lineup changes. Most recently, ARSIS guitarist Nick Cordle was tapped to replace Christopher Amott in the Swedish/German extreme metal band ARCH ENEMY.

ARSIS' latest album, "Starve For The Devil", sold 1,800 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at No. 13 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

"Starve For The Devil" was released in North America on February 9, 2010 via Nuclear Blast Records. The album was recorded at Planet Z Studios in Hadley, Massachusetts with producer Chris "Zeuss" Harris, who has previously worked with MUNICIPAL WASTE, AGNOSTIC FRONT and HATEBREED, among others.

Christopher Jon of WHITE WIZZARD and FORTY WINTERS will fill in for NIGHTRAGE guitarist Olof Mörck on the band's upcoming Greek headlining tour as well as European dates as the support act for DEMON HUNTER.

Commented NIGHTRAGE: "We are happy to have such a cool guitarist and cool guy on our shows playing with us."

Added Jon: "I'm stoked beyond words to be playing guitar with my close friends in NIGHTRAGE on these upcoming dates. [I] became good friends with the dudes on the Frets Of Fury tour back in October. I've been following the band since its inception back in the early 2000s. I'm honored to be able to contribute to a band that's been home to melodic death metal greats like Tomas Lindberg from AT THE GATES, Gus G. from OZZY OSBOURNE, and Marios Iliopoulos as well."

NIGHTRAGE will film a video for an as-yet-undisclosed song off the band's latest album, "Insidious", on April 28 at the Eightball Club in Thessaloniki, Greece. Directing the clip will be Gabriel Psaltakis, who helmed the latest PSYCHO CHOKE video, "Get Down".

NIGHTRAGE's fifth album, "Insidious", was released last September via Lifeforce Records. The CD featured guest appearances by Gus G. (OZZY OSBOURNE, FIREWIND), Tomas S. Englund (EVERGREY), Apollo Papathanasio (FIREWIND, SPIRITUAL BEGGARS), John K (BIOMECHANICAL) and the band's former frontman Tomas Lindberg (also known for his work with AT THE GATES, THE CROWN and LOCK UP). Lindberg appeared on the band's first two albums — 2003's "Sweet Vengeance" and 2005's "Descent Into Chaos" — before being replaced by Jimmie Strimell, who sang on 2007's "A New Disease Is Born".

German progressive metallers VANDEN PLAS have been forced to cancel their previously announced shows in Wolverhampton, U.K. (May 5 at Z Rock) and Siena, Italy (May 12) so that guitarist Stephan Lill could undergo surgery.

Commented the band in a statement: "Hard to find some words for this worst scenario! Unfortunately, we have to tell you that Stephan Lill needs to go to the hospital for an operation which is inevitable; there is nothing to change! We've tried to find immediately a solution — so we did ask a few well-known guitar players, but none of our representatives felt comfortable to replace Stephan for the shows and the clinic. So we have to cancel the shows. I hope in case of our reputation that we will play Siena and find also a chance to see our fans in the United Kingdom as soon as possible. We feel guilty while telling you this, but there is no way around it. Again we lowly realize that health is our strongest and most important property! We don’t know how to apologize our dear friends."

Bronze plaques in the ground honoring the newest class of Rock And Roll Hall Fame inductees were unveiled earlier today (Wednesday, April 4) in front of Public Hall in Cleveland, Ohio.

Each of the 17 plaques reportedly cost around $5,000 to make.

A construction team member told NewsNet5.com only 14 are in the ground, the other three were coming Wednesday morning.

"They came in on Saturday and we moved heaven and earth to get them in the ground on time," said one worker.

As previously reported, GREEN DAY has been confirmed to induct GUNS N' ROSES into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, according to RollingStone.com. The punk trio previously inducted the RAMONES back in 2002. Their participation this year ends the speculation about who was going to induct GUNS, but questions still remain about which members of the band will show up for the April 14 ceremony in Cleveland. Slash, Duff McKagan, Steven Adler, Matt Sorum and Dizzy Reed will all be there, but it was reported this week that Izzy Stradlin won't attend and Axl Rose's participation is still unclear.

According to The Pulse Of Radio, Slash said last week that GUNS N' ROSES will not perform at the event, and Stradlin's absence would seem to confirm that whether Rose shows up or not.

It is also not clear whether GREEN DAY will perform instead.

Slash told RollingStone.com earlier this week that Rose "hates my guts." The two have not performed together since 1993. Rose currently tours with a completely different version of GUNS N' ROSES featuring no original members but him.

As for the other inductees, Chris Rock will induct the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, Chuck D will do the honors for the BEASTIE BOYS, Bette Midler will induct Laura Nyro, ZZ TOP will be on hand for Freddie King, Carole King will induct Don Kirshner, John Mellencamp will pay tribute to Donovan and Steve Van Zandt will handle duties for the SMALL FACES/FACES.

Norwegian powerhouse vocalist Jorn Lande (MASTERPLAN, AVANTASIA) will release a new studio album, "Bring Heavy Rock To The Land", on June 1 via Frontiers Records.

Jorn Lande's "Live In Black" 2-CD/DVD set was released in August 2011 via Frontiers Records. The concert was recorded on June 10, 2010 at the Sweden Rock Festival in front of more than 25,000 people.

2010 was a significant year in Jorn's career. Besides releasing a tribute album to his hero Ronnie James Dio, Jorn was invited to perform, alongside Glenn Hughes, with HEAVEN & HELL at their final concert, which was held in July 2010 at the High Voltage festival in Victoria Park, London, England.

Just a few weeks earlier, Jorn appeared at the Sweden Rock Festival, in Sölvesborg and blew the crowd of more than 25,000 fans away.

"The special thing with 'Live In Black' is that it captures a very rough, uncut and spontaneous moment in the band's history," says Jorn Lande. "It was a hectic day, with many interviews and several TV appearances and I also had to do a short speech and statement regarding the great Ronnie James Dio's untimely passing a few weeks earlier. The whole festival became in the spirit of Ronnie, and it was very moving to see everyone there, including the artists honoring his memory."

"The Electric Age", the new album from New Jersey thrash metal veterans OVERKILL, sold 6,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 77 on The Billboard 200 chart.

OVERKILL's previous CD, "Ironbound", opened with 4,100 units to enter the chart at No. 192. The effort landed at No. 4 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

SOUNDGARDEN entered singer Chris Cornell's studio in Los Angeles in March 2011 to begin recording the band's first album in 15 years.

Adam Kaspar, who co-produced SOUNDGARDEN's last record, 1996's "Down On The Upside", has been working with the group on the new effort as well.

When asked how he would compare SOUNDGARDEN's new material to the group's previous efforts, Cornell told Australia's rock station Triple M, "It sounds like SOUNDGARDEN, but I wouldn't say it's similar. I think there are parts of it that are gonna remind anybody of us, but we've always kind of progressed from album to album. So it's definitely not a throwback. It's not us getting back to our roots — it's not that — it's just kind of a natural progression, I think."

SOUNDGARDEN released a CD/DVD retrospective set in September 2010 called "Telephantasm", featuring singles, album cuts, live material and the previously unavailable "Black Rain", which has been nominated for a Grammy Award.

SOUNDGARDEN's first-ever official concert album, titled "Live On I5", sold 11,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 47 on The Billboard 200 chart. The set is compiled of live tracks from a 1996 West Coast tour by the band and is named after the Interstate 5. SOUNDGARDEN had intended to release the tapes of these shows as its first live album shortly after the tour, but the group ended up disbanding and the tapes were left in the studio, untouched for years.

"No Surrender", the new video from the Ann Arbor, Michigan hard rock band TAPROOT, can be seen below. The song comes TAPROOT's new album, "The Episodes", which will be released on April 10 via Victory Records. The CD was produced by Tim Palatan, who previously worked with the group on 2010's "Plead The Fifth".

"The Episodes", nearly six years in the making, is a complexly developed concept album. Guitarist Mike DeWolf told Loudwire about the CD, "It's a life journey kind of concept about growing up and making choices and the effects of the choices you make in your life — one way or the other. It's got three main characters and it's something that hopefully each person can take something different away from — something that can be special to each person individually."

Regarding the songwriting process for the new album, DeWolf said, "It came together a thousand times faster than any other album. We did everything completely different. We had this idea — 'What if we wrote a story, broke it into ten pieces, and then wrote the music around that?' Instead of the opposite because the music always comes pretty easy to us but the lyrics usually take a little while longer. We were kind of getting the hard part out of the way right off the bat and having fun with it all the rest of the way. It came together, literally, in 15 days — written and demoed."

"Into The Fire", the new ColdheArt.se-created video from Swedish all-girl hard rock quartet CRUCIFIED BARBARA, can be seen below. Formed in Stockholm in 1998 by bassist Ida Evileye (now-wife of MESHUGGAH drummer Tomas Haake) and guitarist Klara Force, CRUCIFIED BARBARA plays a fiery brand of rock 'n' roll tinged with metal and lashings of punk, pop, thrash, and whatever else dares to cross their path. No strangers to hard work or success, CRUCIFIED BARBARA's debut single from their 2005 debut, "In Distortion We Trust", climbed to #8 on the Swedish pop chart. They played Australia, toured across Europe opening for MOTÖRHEAD, SEPULTURA, IN FLAMES, and DORO, and earned a prestigious slot alongside BLACK SABBATH, VELVET REVOLVER, and SYSTEM OF A DOWN at the U.K.'s Download festival. With all that touring, it would be four years before the band got around to recording their second album, 2009's "'Til Death Do Us Party". Next thing you know, there they were on national television performing at the 2010 edition of Melodifestivalen, the Swedish national final for the Eurovision Song Contest.

So how did they get their name? The band members attended Denmark's legendary Roskilde Festival and came across something very unexpected in a nearby forest: a blow-up doll (generically called "Barbara" throughout Sweden) attached to a crucifix. And no, they didn't identify with the victim, they claimed the power of the aggressor right on the spot and have never looked back.

French progressive metallers GOJIRA have set "L'Enfant Sauvage" as the title of their fifth album, due on June 26 via Roadrunner Records. The CD (the title of which translates to "The Wild Child") features 11 tracks of mind-bending, thunderous metal.

"When you become a musician, you don't have a boss telling you what to do so you have to be very responsible," GOJIRA singer/guitarist/songwriter Joe Duplantier said, shedding a little light on the title and its meaning. "With freedom comes responsibility, so I'm asking myself, 'What is freedom? What does it mean to me?' 'L'Enfant Sauvage' reflects on that. There's no answer though. There's just life and questions."

A special collector's package of "L'Enfant Sauvage" will feature two bonus tracks and a double-colored vinyl version of the record, along with an exclusive t-shirt.

GOJIRA recorded its new album at Spin Recording Studios in Long Island City, New York with co-producer Josh Wilbur (LAMB OF GOD).

When asked how the deal with Roadrunner came about, GOJIRA vocalist/guitarist Joseph Duplantier told MetalSucks.net, "We really needed a platform for the band to be promoted and distributed properly. We've been in touch with a lot of labels lately since we finished our contract with Listenable [who released the band's three previous albums]. To go on with Listenable was not an option, even though we had excellent relations with them. We really needed a bigger platform, and Roadrunner offered us an amazing deal. They have been super into the band for years and years. They have been… I would not say 'chasing us,' but… well, I would say 'chasing us,' but they would say 'interested.' . . . We've known [the Roadrunner] guys for years and years — first as metal fans, when we were listening to SEPULTURA and DEATH and all those bands. I remember buying a CD because the Roadrunner logo was on it. It was a sign of quality. And we've known those guys for a couple of years. We've known [Senior Vice President of A&R] Monte Conner and [U.K. General Manager] Mark Palmer. They expressed how enthusiastic they were about our music in a very intelligent way. They really get what we're trying to do, so we signed with them."

Regarding the musical direction of the new GOJIRA material, Duplantier said, "It's more mature . . . There's less bullshit. [laughs] There's more intensity and simplicity at the same time. Drum-wise, for example, Mario [Duplantier] has been serving the music, but with a lot more of his experience in the drumming, and a lot of reflection in the work. His drum fills, for example, are be simpler, yet more technical. For a real drummer to hear [what he's doing], they'll go, 'Holy shit, man. What did you do?' For someone who is not into drumming, they'll go through the song and say, 'Wow, cool.' There's more technique and more experience."

He continued, "Personally, I had a vision of this album, with what I would like to see happening. I was imagining something very organic and very deep, with more natural sounds. Music-wise, it's something like a dream and a storm… it's magical. I had this vision with colors, sounds and shapes in my mind. I almost dreamed about it. 'Wow, I feel like this album is going to be like that.' But I didn't know. I have no idea until we see what happens when we get into the practice room."

On the topic of GOJIRA's collaboration with Wilbur, Joseph said, "We were in touch with several producers in Los Angeles. We didn't know yet if we would use a producer for the first time or not. We mostly wanted to have advice on sound. We usually do everything ourselves. I produced the last album. I was following the whole process: mixing and making sure that the vision of the band was respected in the studio. This time, we wanted to have more help from someone with more experience with producing. It couldn't happen with a bunch of guys in Los Angeles and other places. No one was available. There were a lot of people who said that they wanted to do it, but it didn't work out. At one point, I said, 'Fuck it, I'm going to produce it.' Mario was like, 'Yeah, I like this idea. I like that we can be free to do whatever we want to do.' Not that it would be the opposite with a producer. There are tons of ways to work with a producer. It could just be someone who brings amazing advice, who looks at you and how you play and says, 'Maybe you should try that amp. Maybe you should jam more, because that riff could be a little stronger.' I said that I didn't want to go to Los Angeles because I wanted to go to New York because I loved this city since I was a kid. . . So I decided to find a studio and an engineer or co-producer/mixer or whatever to put the thing together. That's what I did a month and a half ago when I came here. The first studio I visited was here, Spin Studios. The guys are super nice. I'm alone, and I'm like, 'Hey, I'm looking for a studio.' 'Who are you?' 'I'm from that French band GOJIRA.' I visited this one first, and Josh was in this room mixing the new LAMB OF GOD ['Resolution']. I was like, 'Hey, what's up?' He was like, 'Hi, my name is Josh.' I didn't know him, never heard of him before. He played some songs from LAMB OF GOD because he was mixing it, and then I asked him to play the drums dry without any reverb or anything, to hear how the drum room sounds here — because that's the most important thing on the record. And it sounded amazing. He taught me some tricks, like what microphones to use and this and that. He's young and full of energy. He was bouncing on his chair when he was playing the songs. I was like, 'Wow.' I was listening on the headphones and on the speakers, and it just sounded exactly the way I was imagining the next GOJIRA. We're not so far from LAMB OF GOD, but far enough that we're different genres. So I felt the potential of the studio and of Josh. I called Mario and said, 'I met this young guy and he's full of energy and he's working on LAMB OF GOD.' Mario said, 'Fuck yeah, let's go!' So we're co-producing this album — Josh and I."

GOJIRA is comprised of vocalist/guitarist Joe Duplantier, who has a previous relationship with Roadrunner, having played bass on CAVALERA CONSPIRACY's debut "Inflikted", along with guitarist Christian Andreu, bassist Jean-Michel Labadie and drummer Mario Duplantier, who is also Joe's brother!

It was 2005's "From Mars to Sirius" and 2008's "The Way of All Flesh" which established GOJIRA as a metal force of nature and a key player in the scene.
