MINISTRY Mastermind Al Jourgensen gab in einem Interview bekannt, dass nach der Veröffentlichung des Comeback Albums "Relapse" am 23. März und der darauf folgenden Tour auch schon wieder Schluss sei. Für die Aufnahme dieses letzten Albums zeichnet sich Gitarrist Mike Scaccia verantwortlich der Al Jourgensen dazu überreden konnte.

Folgendes Statement von Al Jourgensen: "Ich bin froh es gemacht zu haben und ich bin froh, dass Mikey mich dazu überredet hat“. Außerdem haben MINISTRY Fans nicht zu befürchten, dass das neue Album von Al Jourgensens Heavy Western-Nebenprojekt BUCK SATAN AND THE 666 SHOOTERS beeinflusst wurde. "Es ist ein ziemlich cooles Album und es wird nicht einen einzigen MINISTRY Fan oder Hardcore-Fan enttäuschen".

Mit "99 Percenters" und "Double Tap" sind die beiden vorab aus dem neuen MINISTRY Album "Relapse" ausgekoppelten Singles nun zum Streamen verfügbar. Das Warten der Fangesmeinde hat am Freitag (23.03.) ein Ende, wenn Al Jourgensen und seine Mannen mit "Relapse" endlich ihr mit Spannung erwartetes Comebackalbum veröffentlichen. "Relapse" wird als CD, Limited Edition Digipak, Limited Edition Vinyl und als spezielle, streng limitierte Fanbox erhältlich sein.

Former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Slash spoke to the Associated Press about the band's upcoming induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. You can check out a short video report below.

The 27th annual ceremony will be held on April 14, 2012 in Cleveland, Ohio, home to the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame And Museum. Also scheduled to be inducted are RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, BEASTIE BOYS, THE SMALL FACES/FACES, Donovan and Laura Nyro. Freddie King well enter the Hall Of Fame as an Early Influence, while the late producer and TV host Don Kirshner will receive the Ahmet Ertegun (nonperformer) Award and producers Cosimo Matassa, Tom Dowd and Glyn Johns will receive the Award For Musical Excellence.

The ceremony will be taped for broadcast by HBO, which plans to air it in early May.

When asked if fans can expect to see a performance by the reunited classic lineup of GUNS N' ROSES at the induction ceremony, Slash said, "It's definitely an honor and I have no idea what's going to happen on that day. It's hard for me to even… I'm not really necessarily anticipating anything in particular. It's on the 14th and I'll go down there and see what happens. With all this, sort of, lack of unity on the subject, it's hard to really look forward to it, 'cause I don't know what to anticipate. So it's more like going into it with blinders on and just see what happens."

The 46-year-old guitarist also spoke about his favorite memories as a member of GUNS N' ROSES — recording the band's debut album, "Appetite For Destruction", and touring behind it.

"The first tour, all that stuff, was really a great experience," he said. "I was in my early twenties and it was just a great adventure. [Laughs] So that was all a lot of fun, and then it got crazy in the '90s and obviously when I left the band or parted ways with the whole thing." He added, "[It's been] 25 years since the album came out — [it] doesn't seem like a long time ago, but at the same time ... so much has happened in that time."

Ex-GUNS N' ROSES bassist Duff McKagan told RollingStone.com that there has been "no communication" about the original members of the band performing together when the group is inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Asked if he knew what was going to happen at the ceremony, McKagan answered, "I don't. I know I'm going to go. I can't, at all, speak for anybody else. And won't. I'll be there with bells on." But he added, "There's been no communication about anyone playing. There was probably a day in the mid-1990s where I would have tried to gather the troops, but I'm just not that guy anymore. It's too frustrating to change anyone else . . . I'm not even sure I'd want to change how anyone else sees a situation."

On whether he hoped that the original lineup would perform together at the event, McKagan said, "I think it would be killer. Do I hope to? That's a tricky question. It would be awesome. You have those day dreams like, 'We'll go up and play 'Nightrain' and 'Brownstone' and throw down the microphone and drop off! That'll be killer!' But I doubt that'll happen."

McKagan, singer Axl Rose, guitarists Slash and Izzy Stradlin, and drummer Steven Adler will all be inducted into the Hall, along with later members, keyboardist Dizzy Reed and drummer Matt Sorum.

The biggest question concerning a reunion revolves around whether Rose would be willing to perform alongside Slash. The two have not spoken in years and Rose continues to hold a hostile stance toward his former bandmate.

Reactivated Swedish death/thrash metallers THE CROWN will play their first concert with returning vocalist Johan Lindstrand, on May 5 at Sticky Fingers in Gothenburg, Sweden. This will mark the band's first appearance in Gothenburg in 12 years and will likely be the group's only show in Sweden this year.

THE CROWN is currently writing material for a new studio album, tentatively due late 2012 via Century Media Records.

Commented Lindstrand: "We do have plenty of songs to fill a whole album.

"We have rehearsed on 5-6 songs now and they sound truly amazing. [They contain] a lot of variation, for sure, but with a pretty visible red line through it all.

"There's still a couple of songs left to start messing with and a lot of lyrics to be written, but you can definitely begin to see an album getting formed and shaped into a real classic.

"There's no date set for entering the studio but Marko [Tervonen, guitar] will handle the engineering and mixing and there's no doubt that he will create a killer sound.

"We're all very excited and we wanna start recording right now, but, as I've said before, there's no room for mistakes. There's only room for death fucking metal in the best possible way, so therefore we will not rush anything."

MANOWAR bassist Joey DeMaio was interviewed by Metalhead TV after yesterday's (Friday, March 16) press conference in Bucharest, Romania where Joey and promoter Sorin Sararu of Project Events announced the band's headlining performance at OST Fest 2012, set to take place June 15-17 place at the Zone Arena in Bucharest. You can now watch the chat below. A couple of excerpts follow.

On the upcoming MANOWAR album:

DeMaio: "It's going to fry the hair on your balls — there's no doubt. . . . Everybody's gonna like it. There's gonna be something on the record for everybody — fast songs, slow songs, powerful songs, craziness…"

On how MANOWAR's sound has changed over the years:

DeMaio: "I wouldn't say 'change' — I would say that we evolve constantly. We try to do better, we try to update all of our equipment, use the newest technology, and be aware that you could always improve the quality of your performances, live and in the studio. And that's what we do. We constantly live the life of true metal."

On whether MANOWAR keeps its message in line with the times we live in:

DeMaio: "We haven't changed the message. The message is rock, drink, fuck, play true metal, be a righteous person. You know, the golden rule — treat others the way you want them to treat you. Respect people, but have a good fucking time. And as long as you're not bothering anybody else, live your life, be free — go fucking crazy."

MANOWAR's appearance at OST Fest 2012 is scheduled for June 16. Also confirmed for the three-day event are MÖTLEY CRÜE, MOTÖRHEAD, DIMMU BORGIR, EUROPE, MEGADETH and OVERKILL, among others.

During the press conference, Sararu revealed that the new MANOWAR album will be released on June 16. In addition, he said that the first 5,000 people that purchase a ticket to MANOWAR's appearance at OST Fest via Biletoo.ro will be able to download the CD for free on June 1.

Said DeMaio: "I know that a lot of people don't wanna wait another five years for a MANOWAR record, but we hope that people are gonna think that it was worth waiting the time. Because, you know, you go to a restaurant and you order dinner, if the waiter walks in the kitchen and comes back out two seconds later and puts the dinner on the table, I really don't know what you're gonna get. Every now and then I like McDonald's, too — it doesn't mean something fast is not good — but we're not a fast-food restaurant with MANOWAR. We think it's quality, so we hope you're gonna feel the same way."

THE ORDER OF APOLLYON, the black/death metal project featuring current/former members of ABORTED, AKERCOCKE and CRADLE OF FILTH, has entered the studio to begin recording its sophomore album for a late 2012 release via Listenable Records.

According to Appice, KILL DEVIL HILL's sound is "like a cross between BLACK SABBATH, ALICE IN CHAINS and a little bit of LED ZEPPELIN thrown in. It's heavy, but with a lot of cool hooks and melodic overtones, too."

The members of KILL DEVIL HILL previously stated about their songwriting and recording approach, "We are going old school meets new; no sample drums here!!"

Members of Florida's CATALEPSY have formed a new band called EXOTYPE, which combines the elements of metal, hardcore, dubstep and electronica.

According to the group's official bio, EXOTYPE's sound is characterized by "heavily detuned guitars," "pulsing dubstep drops laced with cybernetic synths" and "thought-provoking lyrics and infectious, anthem-like choruses. A trailer for "Hemingway & Gellhorn", the HBO drama featuring METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich, can be seen below. (Note: Lars can be seen briefly around the 38-second mark.) The film, also starring Nicole Kidman and Clive Owen, is described as "a drama centered on the romance between Ernest Hemingway and WWII correspondent Martha Gellhorn, Hemingway's inspiration for "For Whom The Bell Tolls" and the only woman who ever asked for a divorce from the writer." Ulrich plays Dutch documentarian Joris Ivens in the TV movie.

This is Ulrich's first substantial role in a feature film after making a cameo as himself in 2010's Russell Brand comedy "Get Him To The Greek". He also appeared in the 2004 documentary about METALLICA, "Some Kind Of Monster".

When asked about acting in "Get Him to the Greek", Lars said in a 2010 interview, "It was so much fun. I mean, they sent the script and I learned my lines. And when I showed up on the set, none of it mattered — they just took the script and threw it away. We were just improvising and having fun and insulting each other, and it was a great time. Russell, obviously, is a stand-up comedian, first and foremost, or at least he started as a stand-up comedian, so it's all just improvising."

Sick Drummer Magazine and Perseverance Holdings Ltd. have announced the "Death To All Tour 2012" in benefit of Sweet Relief. This five-city tour will feature a majority of DEATH's amazing musicians, as well as special guests. This tour is to celebrate the life and music of Chuck Schuldiner, as well as to raise awareness of Sweet Relief Musicians Fund — a charity that provides financial assistance to career musicians faced with illness, disability or age-related problems.

GLORYHAMMER is the "heroic fantasy power metal" project led by Christopher Bowes, the mastermind behind pirate metal sensation ALESTORM, with a desire to explore the more symphonic and epic side of metal.

Due in late 2012 via Napalm Records, GLORYHAMMER's debut album, "Tales From The Kingdom Of Fife", will tell an original story based in an alternate-history medieval Scotland, where magic and dark sorcery reigns supreme. German melodic blackened death metal hopefuls DECEMBER FLOWER have inked a deal with Cyclone Empire Records. The band is currently writing material for its sophomore album for a 2013 release.

DECEMBER FLOWER's debut CD, "When All Life Ends…", was released last December via Cyclone Empire through a licensing deal with Imperium Productions (which released the vinyl version of the effort).

Kisser's solo debut, "Hubris I & II", was nominated in the "Best Brazilian Rock Album" category at the 2010 Latin Grammys, which aired live from Las Vegas on the Univision Network.

"Hubris I & II" was released in June 2009 via Holland's Mascot Records. A two-disc set, the self-produced effort was recorded in part at A Voz do Brasil studio in São Paulo, Brazil.

Kisser previously stated about the album, "I'm very pleased with the result and I'm excited to hear it all done. It was a long process, a learning process and a great experience. It's a musical journey through the influences I had for last 15 years of my life and at the same time it's very different from everything I did so far."

"Hubris" comes from Greek word "hybris," which means "excessive pride, wanton violence."

North Carolina's DAYLIGHT DIES has completed the recording process for its fourth full-length album. The CD will be mixed by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios in Örebro, Sweden beginning on April 1. The band states, "Jens was also responsible for mixing 'Lost To The Living' and 'Dismantling Devotion' and we couldn’t imagine the new album being in more capable hands."

As previously reported, DAYLIGHT DIES's new material is its most varied yet, due in part to bassist Egan O'Rourke's "significant songwriting contributions" this time around.

DAYLIGHT DIES played three shows in Europe in December — including at the third edition of the Madrid Is The Dark festival on December 8-10 at the Old School venue in Getafe, Spain.

DAYLIGHT DIES's latest album, "Lost To The Living", was released in the U.S. in June 2008 via Candlelight Records. The CD features captivatingly dark original artwork from renowned artist Travis Smith, who has worked with the band before and whose other previous collaborations include OPETH, ANATHEMA and KATATONIA.

"Beyond", another new song from the Greek female-fronted modern thrash/death metallers AFTERBLOOD, can be streamed in the YouTube clip below. The track comes off the band's debut album, "Of Unsound Minds", which will be released later in the year. The CD was recorded at Dungeon Studios in Athens and it was produced, mixed and mastered by Waldemar Sorychta (GRIP INC., ENEMY OF THE SUN).

"Of Unsound Minds" features guest appearances by Thomas "Angelripper" Such (SODOM), Antony Hämäläinen (NIGHTRAGE) and Waldemar Sorychta. Markus Freiwald (SODOM) played drums on the entire album, under the guidance of Sorychta.

In the annals of rock history, Tommy Bolin occupied a brief, but shining stint as a brilliant guitarist who wowed those in the know with his mastery of many genres —rock, fusion, funk, reggae and heavy metal among others. Along with a much-lauded solo career that, pushed the boundaries of rock/jazz fusion, Bolin played with THE JAMES GANG and DEEP PURPLE, which set him up for major solo guitar stardom which was cut short by his untimely death in 1976.

Not to be overlooked, there's been much written about the guitar wunderkind and now a top notch roster of players have signed on to pay tribute to Bolin on "Great Gypsy Soul". Produced by Greg Hampton and Warren Haynes, it's a remarkable project that brings together major players who actually perform alongside Tommy Bolin's playing and vocals from the recording outtakes to his solo debut album "Teaser". Peter Frampton, Warren Haynes (a key supporter of the project), Nels Cline, Steve Lukather, Steve Morse, Brad Whitford, Joe Bonamassa, John Scofield, Derek Trucks, Glenn Hughes and Myles Kennedy all contribute to this amazing project.

"Great Gypsy Soul" will be released on 429 Records on March 27 in both a single CD format and double CD with bonus tracks. A series of promotional concerts are also in the works.

Tommy Bolin was the quintessential guitar prodigy who focused his talents within the burgeoning rock/metal scenes of the early '70s as well as mastered a highly lauded jazz fusion technique, catching the attention of rock tastemakers and guitar legend peers. It was just a matter of time before Bolin was making a name for himself playing on projects as diverse as Billy Cobham's "Spectrum" project (considered one of the great jazz fusion recordings of all time), replacing Joe Walsh in THE JAMES GANG, playing session work on seminal fusion projects by MOXY and ALPHONSE MOUZON, to replacing Ritchie Blackmore in DEEP PURPLE. With the release of his second solo album, "Private Eyes", what should have been a red letter moment for Bolin, opening up for Jeff Beck in Miami, sadly turned tragic as Bolin was found dead of an overdose shortly after the gig.

Says Warren Haynes: "Many of the guests added after the fact have a close personal connection to Tommy — all share in acknowledging his place in rock history. Watching (and hearing) it all come to fruition some 35 years later was a journey of its own — well worth the travel."

Stockholm, Sweden-based label Threeman Recordings, which is owned and run by members of ENTOMBED, has launched a new collaboration with Ninetone Records. More informatiom about the first release from this new association will follow soon.

ENTOMBED's latest album, "Serpent Saints - The Ten Amendments", was released in the U.S. on July 31, 2007 via Candlelight/Threeman Recordings. The 10-song effort marked the group's first release with drummer Olle Dahlstedt (ALPHA SAFARI, ex-MISERY LOVES CO.), who replaced Peter Stjärnvind in 2006. Mastering duties were handled by Soren Elofsson at Cosmos Mastering in Stockholm, Sweden.

"Serpent Saints - The Ten Amendments" entered the Swedish national chart at position No. 3. This was the highest chart position in the band's career.

The current lineup of ENTOMBED features Victor Brandt (TOTALT JÄVLA MÖRKER, AEON, SATYRICON) and second guitarist Nico Elgstrand (who previously played bass for the group).

In a May 2011 interview with the Stormbringer.at webzine, ENTOMBED guitarist Alex Hellid stated about the progress of the songwriting sessions for the long-awaited follow-up to "Serpent Saints", "We're just taking our time getting the pieces together properly this time. We just wanna make sure that it's a really good album. Now we have a complete lineup again also, and a lot of fresh, new blood as well. So it's gonna be fun to create something new now. . . We wanna get the group together and get a strong foundation to create something good; that's the goal here. . . We'll just concentrate on [creating] something great."

He added, "I [try not] to focus on too much at the same time. [My attitude] is 'Let's just make one great song to start with,' and then we'll take it from there. . . We have a pretty broad palette of things we can do, and we'll try and find a place for anything. 'Cause we enjoy everything from the fastest death/black metal stuff to whatever, so the songs that we come up with, we'll just have to find a space for them — some stuff might be [releases as] an album, some stuff might be a single…"

He continued, "I think it's kind of boring, in a way, to just think in terms of a full-length] 'album,' especially when nobody seems to really create classic albums anymore, and a lot of people don't even buy them anymore. If wanna record our favorite cover songs, there should be a place for that as well.

"It's been four years [since the last album came out] and I feel that we have so much creativity in the band and so many things that we can all put under this roof of things that we like collectively. And what I wanna do is for us to find a way to channel all our creativity and also make it the best and the greatest it can be."

MINISTRY Mastermind Al Jourgensen gab in einem Interview bekannt, dass nach der Veröffentlichung des Comeback Albums „Relapse“ am 30. März und der darauf folgenden Tour auch schon wieder Schluss sei. Außerdem haben MINISTRY Fans nicht zu befürchten, dass das neue Album von Al Jourgensens Heavy Western-Nebenprojekt BUCK SATAN AND THE 666 SHOOTERS beeinflusst wurde. „Es ist ein ziemlich cooles Album und es wird nicht einen einzigen MINISTRY-Fan oder Hardcore-Fan enttäuschen".

AEROSMITH are working on a new version of the song 'Legendary Child'. Originally written during the sessions for the band's album, Get A Grip, the track will now be included on the soundtrack for the upcoming movie GI Joe: Retaliation, which hits theaters on June 29th. The new version of the song could possibly appear on Aerosmith's new studio album, out later this year.

On March 9th, last year's American Idol runner-up Lauren Alaina revealed that she will be a guest on Aerosmith new album, that the band are currently completing with long-time producer Jack Douglas.

Alaina tweeted: "Yesterday: returned to Idol and then went to the studio to record background vocals for the new Aerosmith record. #ISTHISREAL?Thank u Steven!"

Legendary Swedish doom metallers CANDLEMASS will release their 11th and final album, "Psalms For The Dead", in June via Napalm Records. A limited-edition seven-inch vinyl single contaning two album tracks —"Dancing In The Temple Of The Mad Queen Bee" and "The Killing Of The Sun" — will precede the full-length effort on April 13.

"This record represents everything that is CANDLEMASS," the band's bassist and main songwriter Leif Edling states. "It is big, fat, epic and heavy, and it’s also metal as fuck! We couldn't have done a better album! It's our last one and we put just all we had into it. 'Psalms For The Dead' is an album about the presence and absence of time, false prophets and inner demons....hymns, regret and farewell. Let there be doom!"

Other songtitles set to appear on the effort include "Prophet", "Sadness Run Deep" and "Water Witch".

Despite the fact that "Psalms For The Dead" is being billed as CANDLEMASS' final studio album, Edling told Terrorizer magazine in a recent interview that the group is not planning on hanging it up anytime soon.

"We're not splitting up," he said. "Yes, this is to be our last album, but we don't plan to disappear from the scene for quite awhile. We will tour this year, hopefully the next one as well, and then there's our upcoming 30th anniversary. So plenty more doom to come! It's just that we want to stop before we get too old and start putting out half-lame albums. Instead, we'll slowly fade away into the sunset with our dignity intact. We're not young anymore. Actually, some of the stuff I've been writing for this album ism in fact, about saying goodbye. It's a bit psalm-like in parts and has got a big epic vibe."

He added, "I have got a very good feeling about this album. It's so metal, so heavy, so doomy, so epic.. It's fucking colossal! I think this will turn out as good as [2009's] 'Death Magic Doom', something I thought would be impossible."

CANDLEMASS celebrated its 25-year anniversary by performing an extra-long, two-and-a-half-hour set at Debaser Medis in Stockholm on December 18, 2010. The band's classic debut album, "Epicus Doomicus Metalicus", was played in its entirety for the first time with the original singer Johan Längqvist.

CANDLEMASS released a new DVD, "Ashes To Ashes - Live", in North America on June 29, 2010 via Nuclear Blast Records (April 23, 2010 in Europe). The set contains footage of the band's performance at Sweden Rock Festival in front of 30,000 people as well as CANDLEMASS' entire October 2009 concert in Athens, Greece. It also includes a 30-minute interview and two photo galleries. The DVD was released as a CD+DVD, with the Sweden Rock show as the audio CD.

"Death Magic Doom", the last album from CANDLEMASS, debuted at No. 79 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

"Death Magic Doom" entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 52. The group's previous CD, "King of the Grey Islands", debuted at No. 83 back in June 2007.
