"I am totally psyched to be working with eOne for the new BRONX CASKET release!" says Verni. "They did an amazing job with the OVERKILL record and I know they will do the same for this. Having a label home where people 'get' it and are psyched to work a record is a great feeling."

THE BRONX CASKET CO. was formed in 1998 by Verni, who — after having played in one of the most respected thrash bands ever for over two decades — was looking for "the challenge of writing interesting new material, and for fun, of course!" The band's second release caught the ear of playwright Andrea Lepcio. Soon after, Verni and Lepcio were collaborating with three-time Tony winner Hinton Battle to direct and choreograph. The seeds of "The Bronx Casket Co., A New Musical" were planted. Verni quickly recruited several members from the TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA to perform. The cast consisted of performers from the Broadway shows "Hairspray", "Rent" and "Dance Of The Vampire". There have been several performances off-Broadway for producers/backers and the show is still in the writing stages. It has a gothic/Broadway score with a twisted love story woven throughout. Songs from the first two BRONX CASKET CO. releases are included in the show, as well as 13 new songs Verni penned just for the musical.

It's been five years since THE BRONX CASKET CO. last released an album and has been well worth the wait. Verni states, "This BRONX CASKET record is the best we have done, and we are looking forward to getting out on the road and doing some shows."

THE BRONX CASKET CO.'s follow-up to 2005's "Hellectric" will be the band's first release with D.D. handling all of the vocal duties.

"Alleya Stalina" (English translation: The Alley Of Stalin), a brand new song from KYPCK ("Kursk" in the western alphabet) — the Russian-singing Finnish doom metal band featuring former SENTENCED guitarist Sami Lopakka (a.k.a. S.S. Lopakka) — can be streamed below. The track comes off the group's sophomore album, which is named after the Russian word for "lower" (pronounced "nizhe"), due on February 9, 2011 via Yellow House Recordings.

FOR ALL WE KNOW, the new project led by WITHIN TEMPTATION guitarist Ruud Jolie, is mixing its debut album for an April 2011 release. Joining Jolie in the group are Léo Margarit (PAIN OF SALVATION) on drums, Kristoffer Gildenlöw (DIAL, ex-PAIN OF SALVATION) on bass and Wudstik (AYREON) on vocals. The CD will also feature guest appearances by such musicians as John Wesley (PORCUPINE TREE touring guitarist), Richie Faulkner (LAUREN HARRIS), Damian Wilson (THRESHOLD), Daniel Gildenlöw (PAIN OF SALVATION) and Sharon den Adel (WITHIN TEMPTATION).

Knoxville, Tennessee's WHITECHAPEL has parted ways with drummer Kevin Lane and has reportedly replaced him with Ben Harclerode of the Glendale, Arizona band KNIGHTS OF THE ABYSS. Lane is said to have returned home to Kingsport, Tennessee and is planning to go back to school.

WHITECHAPEL has selected Rocketown in Nashville, Tennessee as the location for the video shoot for the track "Breeding Violence", taken from the band's latest release, "A New Era of Corruption". The clip will be filmed on Saturday, January 8 with director Scott Hansen, who has previously worked on videos for ILL NIÑO, ANIMALS AS LEADERS, WILLIE NELSON, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA and A DAY TO REMEMBER, among others. WHITECHAPEL will play a full set for its fans and will be joined by THE TONY DANZA TAP DANCE EXTRAVAGANZA.

Florida death metallers CANNIBAL CORPSE are tentatively scheduled to release a new two-disc DVD set, "Global Evisceration", on March 15 via Metal Blade.

The band filmed two shows in May 2010 for the upcoming DVD. The concerts were shot and directed by Denise Korycki (Wild Wind Productions), who also helmed the band's "Centuries Of Torment - The First 20 Years" DVD.

On October 29, Hal Leonard Publishing Corporation released "Best Of Cannibal Corpse", featuring note-for-note transcriptions of 13 fan favorites from CANNIBAL CORPSE.

"Centuries of Torment", which came out July 2008, was certified platinum in Canada in 2009 just before the crushing release of the band's new album, "Evisceration Plague". The DVD sold 2,100 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 8 on the Top Music Videos chart.

U.K. modern thrashers SYLOSIS will release their sophomore album, "Edge Of The Earth", on March 11 via Nuclear Blast Records. The CD was produced by Scott Atkins, who previously worked with the band on 2008's "Conclusion Of An Age".

Guitarist Mike Ferguson of the Dutch death/thrash metal act DETONATION has issued the following update:

"We have some good and some sad news!

"Sad news first... we parted ways with three band members recently. Danny [Tunker; guitar) and Michiel [van der Plicht; drums] have gone on to seek their fame and fortune with GOD DETHRONED and PROSTITUTE DISFIGUREMENT. Due to their busy schedules, it was impossible to keep playing in DETONATION. However, we parted as friends and wish them good luck and much success in these bands.

"Also, after 12 years in DETONATION, Otto [Schimmelpenninck; bass] has decided to leave the band. His busy schedule with DELAIN prohibited his 100 percent focus and attention for DETONATION, and as he did not think this was fair towards us, he respectfully gave up his role as bass player for DETONATION. We will miss Otto as a friend and also wish him much success with DELAIN!

"Then the good news! Koen [Romeijn, vocals] and I have no intention on quitting, quite the contrary, we are more focused and determined than before. We have been practicing with new musicians for a month or so, and it is going great.

"On drums we welcome Allard van der Kuip, known from Utrecht band GRINDPAD. And on bass we welcome Harry van Breda.

"Harry is known as the vocalist in I-CHAOS, and also the guy that recorded and mixed our new album, 'Reprisal'. Both new guys come from our town Utrecht, and have been friends of the band since quite a while. Guitarist Sinhue "Sin" Quirin of MINISTRY and REVOLTING COCKS has issued the following update:

"For those that don't know, I was taken to the hospital on January 1 at around 5 a.m. [It was] my first time in an ambulance... not fun. I had excruciating lower left abdominal pain. It was the worst pain EVER.

"Long story short, it was kidney stones... I'm feeling better now. I just hope they dissolve 'cause I don't want to go through that EVER AGAIN.

Sin's recent credits include co-writing the latest MINISTRY record, "The Last Sucker" (2007, 13th Planet Records), and playing guitar on MINISTRY's "Cover Up" album (2008, 13th Planet Records). He also co-wrote the REVOLTING COCKS album "Sex-O Olympic-O" (2009, 13th Planet Records).

Dutch melodic metal band EDGE OF SERENITY have announced that guitarist Michael Hansen has joined the band. Hansen is no stranger to the band, as he played together with bassist Mark Brekelmans in several other bands and projects.

“Michael is, next to being a very good friend of mine, a very talented guitar player and also a very good composer. From the first second he joined the band he is heavily involved in the writing process of the last tracks that are being written for the album.” - Mark Brekelmans.

Edge of Serenity is currently rounding up the writing process for their second album, which will be “heavier, faster, groovier and more melodic and technical” than the band’s 2009 debut album, The Chaos Theory.

The yet untitled album will be released worldwide in 2011. The band will also play a lot of shows this year to support the release.

San Francisco Bay Area metal veterans SKINLAB have once again parted ways with guitarist Mike Roberts.

Comments SKINLAB bassist/vocalist Steev Esquivel: "We've basically been contemplating our next move, having recently parted ways again with our brother Mike Roberts.

"Things have been pretty rough the last year, not having a solid lineup to get out on the road and support our latest album, 'The Scars Between Us'... We basically had to make a drastic decision to continue on our quest for a permanent guitarist.

"As much as we loved having Mike back in the band, it became obvious to both of us that his schedule and family obligations would not allow him to participate in touring. While we were hoping to jump back on track and write/tour/record together, it just wasn't working. It was a shitty decision to make on both ends, but we wish nothing but the best for Mike and his family."

SKINLAB jammed with a variety of different guitar players before settling on former RIKETS axeman Provo Provenzano. Esquivel says, "After talking a few months and jamming with different guitarists, we have decided to bring in former RIKETS guitarist Provo. Provo is no stranger to the road and has been paying his dues for many years. We're looking forward to his first run of shows with us in January for a few Bay Area shows, and then we'll be heading out to Oklahoma/Texas to team up with WITHIN CHAOS for a few shows, before heading back to the Bay Area to settle down and begin recording for upcoming EP."

SKINLAB's forthcoming EP is expected to feature a couple new tracks combined with covers of the bands that have influenced the group's style and sound. SKINLAB has also enlisted Reality Check TV to film the band's January 22 performance at the Uptown in Oakland, California and in-depth interviews with the group's members for a possible DVD.

Veteran California rockers Y&T organized a special New Year's Eve benefit concert for the band's original bassist Phil Kennemore who was recently diagnosed with metastatic cancer. The event was held on December 31 at the Avalon in Santa, Clara, California and featured guest appearances by members of such acts as QUEENSRŸCHE, TESTAMENT, DOKKEN, KEEL and HEAVEN & HELL.

A parade of rock stars banded together to support Y&T bassist, Phil Kennemore, who was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer while on tour this past summer. Due to the overwhelming medical bills, Y&T's lead singer and best mate, Dave Meniketti, started the Phil Kennemore Fund to help Phil with his bills. This New Year's concert is the ultimate fund-raiser for a friend who has made such a positive impact on the music scene. Bay Area atypical progressive rock/metal three-piece GRAYCEON have completed their third full-length album, entitled All We Destroy.

Grayceon will also be playing their record release show on Febuary 11th at Bottom Of The Hill in San Francisco (1233 17th Street, doors are at 8:30 PM) and it will be at this show where Grayceon will be giving away copies of their new CD.

"Dualitet og Ulver", the new video from Norway's HELHEIM, can be viewed below. The clip was filmed in the mountains surrounding the band's hometown of Bergen and features a guest appearance by TAAKE's Hoest. The track comes off the "Åsgards Fall" mini-CD, which was released in Norway on October 25, 2010 via Dark Essence Records and in the rest of the world on November 1. ASYLUM, the Illinois-based project featuring Markus Johansson (lead vocals, lead guitar) and Johnny Rox (bass), has changed its name to SYLENCER. The band's debut album, "A Lethal Dose Of Truth", has been completely self-produced by Johansson and Rox and is nearing completion. "As you already know, Sepultura is working on a new album, planned to be released in May 2011, during the North American tour (check the dates below). We have 12, maybe 13 songs and we'll start recording a demo next week so they can start working on the pre-production of the album.

Roy Z (JUDAS PRIEST, BRUCE DICKINSON) will be in charge of the production of (the) new album, which will be recorded at Estúdios Trama (in São Paulo, Brazil) starting January 20th.

Frontiers Records has set a February 18 European release date (March 8 in North America) for BENEDICTUM's third full-length album, entitled "Dominion".

Formed in 2005 and quickly noticed by DIO guitarist Craig Goldy, BENEDICTUM's debut album, "Uncreation", was released to great reviews. The collaboration between producer Jeff Pilson (DOKKEN, DIO, FOREIGNER) and the musical works of vocalist Veronica Freeman and Pete Wells, along with the talent of drummer Blackie Sanchez, bassist Jesse Wright and keyboardist Chris Morgan, made a splash on the hard rock scene, with BENEDICTUM being selected one of the top bands to watch in 2006 by Classic Rock magazine and one of Rock Hard Germany's top 50 albums for that year. Guest appearances on the CD included Jeff Pilson, Craig Goldy and Jimmy Bain.

The result of the second collaboration between Jeff Pilson and BENEDICTUM was their 2008 release, "Seasons Of Tragedy", which saw them evolve into a metal force which could not be denied. With Veronica's raw and powerful vocals, songs with memorable melodies and the magical talent of Pete Wells along with new drummer Paul Courtois and the guidance of Jeff Pilson, the CD further solidified the fact that there was something quite special at work here. The album featured guest appearances by Jeff Pilson, Craig Goldy and George Lynch, who added his special flair to the track "Bare Bones" and the cover of ACCEPT's "Balls to the Wall".

Their driving music and energetic shows allowed BENEDICTUM to grace the stage of many festivals, including Wacken Open Air, Gods Of Metal and Hard Rock Hell, and landed the band a support tour with DORO.

Now ready for yet another amazing chapter, BENEDICTUM is off on a new and exciting musical episode as they have signed a contract with Frontiers Records. Building upon its great foundation, BENEDICTUM has recruited Grammy Award-winning producer Ryan Greene (MEGADETH, F5, MXPX, NOFX) and is firing on all cylinders. With members Chris Shrum now on bass, Mike Pannone on drums and Tony Diaz on keyboards, the new music promises to continue to expand the horizon for BENEDICTUM and is sure to please current fans as well. Danish metallers AS WE FIGHT has entered Dead Rat Studio in Århus, Denmark with producer Jacob Bredahl (THE BURNING, HATESPHERE, HORNED ALMIGHTY) to begin recording five songs for an exclusive full-length split album with THE PSYKE PROJECT, which will be released under the name EBOLA in April 2011. The release will see the return of AS WE FIGHT's original singer Laurits Medom, who has rejoined the band after a three-year absence.

Commented AS WE FIGHT: "After three albums, we are pleased to avoid the traditional release process and explore new opportunities with THE PSYKE PROJECT in connection with the EBOLA collaboration. We have furthermore focused on a more rock and dynamic approach to the music."
