DRAGONFORCE To Release Live AlbumBritish extreme epic power metallers DRAGONFORCE have announced the release of their first live album.
Titled "Twilight Dementia" and produced by longstanding DRAGONFORCE collaborator Karl Groom, along with band guitarists Herman Li and Sam Totman, this double live set is now confirmed for a September 13 release on Spinefarm Records (Europe) and Roadrunner Records (U.S., Canada).
Featuring 13 tracks, including such pivotal numbers as "Fury Of The Storm", "Operation Ground And Pound", "My Spirit Will Go On", "Valley Of The Damned", "Heroes Of Our Time" and "Through The Fire And Flames", this exercise in soaring vocals and advanced guitar pyrotechnics was recorded across 19 U.K. shows, with the very best takes lovingly compiled and mixed by Groom, Totman and Li.
Says Herman: "For years, fans have been asking us to record a live album, but honestly, we never really had the time due to our worldwide touring commitments and studio album recording. However, due to the overwhelmingly positive feedback from fans on the 'Ultra Beatdown World Tour', we decided to finally put some real thought into it…
"The idea was to record every single show from the last leg of the tour, so we could pick the best take of each song without needing to do any overdubs in the studio; keeping the whole thing 'live,' like all the classic live metal albums.
"These recordings really capture the raw sonic energy of a DRAGONFORCE show in fine detail. It is so real that you can hear the noise of the crowd and experience the show as it was that night — you can even hear the guitar pedals being stepped on!"
Formed in 1999, DRAGONFORCE – a multi-national amalgam of players at the very top of their game — has spent the past decade proving that virtuoso musicianship and strong songwriting values can appeal to rock fans right across the board; it's a journey that has seen the band playing sold-out headline shows around the world, including in markets as far afield as China, Hawaii, New Zealand, Russia and Colombia, forging a telling relationship with the "Guitar Hero" franchise, and tucking four strong studio albums under its collective belt, with sales currently topping the two-million mark worldwide.
And now, whilst seeking a replacement for recently departed singer ZP Theart, the band has delivered a set of recordings that successfully highlight the non-stop energy and entertainment-or-bust ethos of the DRAGONFORCE musicians in full live flow.

The tracks come off PROJECT: FAILING FLESH's third LP, titled "Count Back From Ten", which will be released later in the year.
PROJECT: FAILING FLESH previously stated about its plans for the band's new CD, "Our friends at our last label Burning Star Records [which released the last PROJECT: FAILING FLESHCD] have run out of money (not shocking, considering the times) and sadly had to close down the label.
"We are still deciding what method to take to release 'Count Back From Ten'. Whether we want to take the somewhat time consuming method of dealing with a new label.. or just do a self-release and possibly license it... or even make it available via download.. or some combination of all these options. No matter the method, some promos will be printed up and close friends and fans will hopefully be able to hear this thing very soon!
"It's been a long process but we are completely happy with the result and that is the only important thing...not timetables, labels, etc."
"Count Back From Ten" projected track listing:

SACRIFICE\'s \'Crest Of Black\' To Be Released On CD For First Time"Crest Of Black", a masterpiece of Japanese heavy metal by SACRIFICE, will finally be available on CD for the first time in July.
"Crest Of Black" was originally released in 1987 on Explosion Records, then home for bands like SABBRABELLS, DOOM and JURASSIC JADE, in a limited quantity of 1,000 copies. Since then, it's been a highly sought-after item for metalheads all over the world.
This long-awaited official reissue will also feature two bonus tracks, taken from the band's self-released demo from 1986.
SACRIFICE's singer and founding member Akira Sugiuchi is still in the singing business, fronting SOLITUDE, which released a new album, "Brave the Storm", earlier this year.
Formed by Akira Sugiuchi following the demise of BLOODLUST around the middle of 80's, SACRIFICE was one of the forerunners of Japanese thrash metal scene. Their NWOBHM-inspired fast and ultra-heavy songs, along with the character that represented the band, won the group a lot of fans throughout its career.
SACRIFICE's latter-day lineup included current SOLITUDE bass player Toru Nishida, and Shinji "Samm" Tachi of SABBAT, METALUCIFER, MAGNESIUM etc. on drums.
The band shared the stage with SODOM and NUCLEAR ASSAULT, among others.

CLUTCH To Record Acoustic EPAccording to Metal Insider, Maryland rockers CLUTCH will enter Magpie Cage Studios in Baltimore with J. Robbins around July 4 to record approximately half a dozen songs for an acoustic EP, to be released before the end of the year. Some of the titles being considered for the effort include a song called "Fixin' To Die" (which CLUTCH performed this past Saturday at the Crocodile Rock in Allentown, Pennsylvania), as well as stripped-down takes of "Abraham Lincoln", "Electric Worry", "Regulator" and "Tight Like That".
In other news, Weathermaker Records will reissue "Electric Worry" in conjunction with the July 20 re-release of 2007's "From Beale Street To Oblivion". A modest hit upon its release, the song has since gained newfound popularity. It has been featured in previews for the upcoming TBS series "Memphis Beat", which were heavily played during the NBA finals, as well as a commercial for the video game "Left 4 Dead 2". Weathermaker Records' Jon Nardachone told Metal Insider that if the acoustic version of "Electric Worry" makes the cut on the EP, it will be included as a B-side for the radio single.
CLUTCH issued a brand new epic DVD set called "Live at the 9:30" in mid-May. This 200-minute double-disc concert film is being sold at the fan-friendly price of $19.98. Disc one features a 90-minute full length concert filmed with seven high-definition cameras last December at Washington, D.C.'s legendary 9:30 Club. In addition to newer fan favorites like "50,000 Unstoppable Watts" and "Let a Poor Man Be", the concert film's first disc includes an electifying version of the 1995 "Clutch" self-titled release in its entirety. An audio version of the full 19-song concert was made exclusively available through iTunes on May 11. Disc two is the 110-minute feature film "Fortune Tellers Make a Killing Nowadays", which takes a behind-the-scenes look at CLUTCH "on tour" city by city in 2009. This "bonus disc" is not limited to recent CLUTCH happenings, however, as it includes rare band interviews as well as vintage never-before-seen footage documenting much of CLUTCH's history from 1991 to the present. Both discs were directed and produced by Agent Ogden, who first worked with the band on 2007's "Full Fathom Five, Video Field Recordings".

ANTAGONIST Announces New Album Track Listing, Guest MusiciansSouthern California's ANTAGONIST has announced the track listing of its new full-length album, "World In Decline", to be released on Prosthetic Records. The CD was recorded at Buzzbomb Studios in Orange, California with producer Paul Miner (TERROR, THRICE, THROWDOWN) and it features guest vocal appearances by ARSONISTS GET ALL THE GIRLS' Jared Monette and John Strachan of THE FUNERAL PYRE.
"World In Decline" track listing:
01. The Bane of Existence
02. Sasha Grey
03. Disguised In White
04. God On Fire
05. Wake Up And Smell The Lies
06. New Human
07. A Voice Unspoken
08. Already Dead (feat. John Strachan)
09. Darkest Darkness (feat. Jared Monette)
10. World In Decline (feat. Jared Monette)
Commented singer/guitarist Carlos Garcia: "We're super-stoked on the finished product, and we hope everyone will feel the same!
"Paul was amazing to work with; he was very encouraging and super-patient with us, and we're eternally grateful for that. And, of course, he knows his way around the console.
"This is honestly the first album we've done that is an accurate representation of ANTAGONIST's live sound, and it definitely showcases a more refined, aggressive sound. We're taking it back to the old school!"
Regarding the lyrical themes covered on "World In Decline", Garcia said, "'Exist' had a hopeful message of working together as humans towards a better future. The new album is about the realization that things will always be fucked up, people will always be selfish, and this world is going to end at any minute, and we have nobody to blame but ourselves.
"People grow older and figure out that life doesn't get any easier and that our own selfishness, carelessness, and ignorance are at the core of our demise. So right now, that's where our heads are at, which will in turn no doubt lead to a much more aggressive and angry album."
You can check out footage of ANTAGONIST performing one of the new songs, entitled, "The Bane of Existence", below.
ANTAGONIST's Prosthetic debut, "Exist", came out in 2008.
The band will announce a late summer tour shortly.

ION DISSONANCE: \'Cursed\' Album Trailer AvailableMontreal extreme metal purists ION DISSONANCE will release their new album, "Cursed", for an August 24 North American release via Century Media Records. The CD was recorded at .357 Productions with ION DISSONANCE guitar player Antoine Lussier at the production helm.
A trailer for the album can be viewed below.
Commented vocalist Kevin: "Since 'Cursed' is now recorded, mixed and mastered, we want to take a moment to clarify a few points.
"We have been getting asked a lot of questions and we want to make sure that we are all on the same level and answer these questions once and for all.
"The official release date in the U.S and Canada is scheduled for August 24th.
"A few release dates have been getting thrown around and we wanted to put the questions to rest. Also, our new friends at Basick Records will be releasing 'Cursed' in Europe. The record will be out there on August 23rd and finally, Doom Patrol in Japan will be releasing the record there on August 24th as well. Both the European and the Japanese versions will have their own exclusive tracks, but more info on that later.
"To fill you in on this situation, we were originally planning on an earlier release date, but unfortunately we encountered a few obstacles along the way, mainly mastering the disc. This made an earlier release date impossible. Another perfect example is the artwork. We wanted to work with Paul Romano but he is obviously very busy and we felt that waiting for his services was a better option than looking elsewhere. We love Paul's work and are insistent on having him follow up his work on 'Minus The Herd'. So now that we have the artwork in hand we can definitely say that the wait was worth it.
"All this to say that when ION DISSONANCE decided to get together over a year ago to come out with our best work to date, we wanted to take every little detail into consideration to make sure this record was everything we ever wanted an ION DISSONANCE record to be.
"With that being said, we'll move on to another situation which needs to be addressed. After three long years of winging it as a four piece, we are now back to five members. Yannick Desgroseillers (formerly from TEARS FROM THE SKY) has now joined the ranks and will be playing bass, a role Sebastien has been filling in on since Xavier left the band. This switch will allow us to play some new songs on our upcoming shows, which to us is an unbelievable excitement.
"We can't wait to get out on the road this summer and see some familiar faces. It's been too long." 4

THERION Announces New GuitaristSwedish progressive/experimental metallers THERION have recruited Christian Vidal from Argentina as the band's new guitarist.
Vidal made his live debut with THERION on June 4, 2010 in Mexico City.
Fan-filmed video footage of the concert can be viewed below.
Christian Vidal was born in Zarate, Buenos Aires and he first started playing guitar at the early age of eight. In 2007 he became part of THE ROAD VULTURES, a band that was formed with the purpose of backing former MR. BIG vocalist Eric Martin.
In 2001, Vidal formed the heavy metal act CUERO along with former KAMIKAZE vocalist Enrique Gomez Yafal. CUERO completed several tours of Argentina and participated in a METALLICA tribute album.
Christian released a solo album, "El Viaje", in 2005. The CD featured a mix of instrumental rock with different native Argentinian styles like folklore and tango.
THERION recently completed work on its new album, "Sitra Ahra". The CD was mixed at the legendary Polar Studios in Stockholm by Lennart Östlund (LED ZEPPELIN, ABBA), who commented, "What you have made here is truly unique." 13 songs were recorded for the CD, although it is presently unclear if all of the tracks will end up on the final record.
"Sitra Ahra" was mastered in New York for a September 2010 release.
THERION mainman Christofer Johnsson previously stated about the upcoming CD, "Expect something spectacular, even by THERION's standards!"
Christofer Johnsson announced in May 2009 that vocalist Thomas Vikström (ex-CANDLEMASS) had become a permanent member of THERION.
THERION's new rhythm section is comprised of Johan Koleberg (ANIMAL, ZAN CLAN, LION'S SHARE) on drums and Nalle "Grizzly" Påhlsson (TREAT, ZAN CLAN, VINDICTIV) on bass guitar.
THERION's latest CD/DVD, "The Miskolc Experience", was released in June 2009 via Nuclear Blast Records. 8

MALEVOLENT CREATION: New Album Cover Artwork UnveiledThe cover artwork for "Invidious Dominion", the forthcoming eleventh album from Florida-based death metallers MALEVOLENT CREATION, can be viewed below. The art was created by renowned artist Pär Olofsson (THE FACELESS, IMMORTAL, ABYSMAL DAWN).
"Pär Olofsson was recommended to us by our label manager, Gerardo Martinez, and after checking out some of his work we knew he was our guy," commented the band. "Our initial thought was to have a world in chaos and destruction, or an Invidious Dominion, which then led us to remember the 'Ten Commandments' album cover, and how cool it would be to have the demon make a return appearance but from a frontal view!
"Pär's totally brutal interpretation couldn't have exceeded our expectations any more! We are stoked with his work and can't wait to see it on a bunch of cool merch and more than likely everyone in the band's skin!"
"Invidious Dominion" will be released on August 24 in North America via Nuclear Blast Records (three days later in Europe through Massacre). The effort will made available in various territories as a regular CD; digipack with bonus material; and vinyl LP.
MALEVOLENT CREATION's new album was recorded at Mana Recording Studios (CANNIBAL CORPSE, VITAL REMAINS, GOATWHORE) in St. Petersburg, Florida with producer Erik Rutan (MORBID ANGEL, HATE ETERNAL, CANNIBAL CORPSE). The band has also just signed a management deal with Extreme Management Group (SUFFOCATION, ORIGIN).
Commented guitarist Phil Fasciana: "MALEVOLENT CREATION have found a winning combination working with Erik Rutan, putting together an album filled with every bit of hatred, speed and aggression the band has ever recorded. 'Invidious Dominion' contains 10 full-throttle songs from start to finish and will be embarking on a massive world tour upon the album's release in August 2010."
"Invidious Dominion" track listing:
01. United Hate
02. Conflict Finalized
03. Slaughterhouse
04. Compulsive Face Breaker
05. Lead Spitter
06. Target Rich Environment
07. Antagonized
08. Born Again Hard
09. Corruptor
10. Invidious Dominion
MALEVOLENT CREATION was recently rejoined by original bassist Jason Blachowicz. Blachowicz initially left on good terms to further his tattoo career, but the death metal sickness still runs deep in his veins!
"Been in hiding, working in tattoo shops for quite some time now but my gut has been aching to do one of the things that I do best... spreading malevolence across the globe with my brothers in metal," Blachowicz said in a statement. "The evil in my blood has motivated me to dust the cobwebs off of my bass and commit to performing blasphemy and anger upon mine and everyone else's ears once again. This is also for one of my inspirations, Peter Steele, and for all of the loyal MALEVOLENT CREATION fans who have been supporting us for 23 fucking years! 4
