LITA FORD Breaks Her Silence About \'The Runaways\' Movie'80s hard rock queen Lita Ford is finally speaking out about the infamous bio-pic on her former band, THE RUNAWAYS, which stars Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett, Dakota Fanning as Cherie Currie, and Scout Taylor Compton as Lita.
"Most people would want to be in a movie, but I sure didn't want anything to do with this one," admits Lita about the film, which has the working title of "The Runaways". "They're using my name and that makes me nervous as some of the people involved have tried to destroy my career since 1980."
However, Lita's attitude changed a bit after Scout Taylor Compton, the 20-year-old actress who portrays her in the film, made a special trip out to Lake Tahoe, Nevada on Saturday to see her perform with QUEENSRŸCHE.
"After meeting Scout this weekend, I feel so much better," continues Lita. "She has a heart and soul, unlike some of the people behind the movie. She also hawks a mean loogey and really is a lot like me. We both cried the first time we spoke. Scout rocks."
And Scout thinks Lita rocks, too. "Lita Ford is an icon of rock and has always been a personal hero of mine," says the actress, who is also a singer and drummer. "I can't wait for her to see the film. I put my heart and soul into portraying her and to find out she is such an amazing person was truly a blessing for me. It's something I'll never forget!"

New ACCEPT Singer: \'I Am Not Going To Try To Fill UDO DIRKSCHNEIDER\'s Shoes\' Derbyshire, England with acclaimed British producer and SABBAT guitarist Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, EXODUS, ARCH ENEMY, NEVERMORE) to begin recording their new studio album. The as-yet-untitled CD — which will mark the recording debut of the band's new lead singer, Mark Tornillo (ex-TT QUICK) — will include around 12 songs and be released in early 2010 via an as-yet-undetermined record label.
Longtime metal journalist and fan John Strednansky was the first (and so far only one) outsider invited to listen to the new songs. "I had to promise to keep this to myself as the band wanted to keep the sessions top secret, but I cannot control myself!" he said. "This new stuff is mind-blowing!"
He continued, "I got to hear 15 new tracks and one was better than the next!
"Holy smoke!!! ACCEPT is reborn and better than ever!
"We all know that they have been writing songs with Mark but that they’d be able to recapture the metal spirit of the Eighties this perfectly... well, that blew me away! No way has it been 13 years since the last record.... The songs are heavy, melodic and have a killer groove, Wolf's [Hoffmann] guitar playing smokes all over the place. There are fast songs, and then there are those epic numbers! The music is stunning and will surprise everyone! Mark is singing from his heart and soul and sounds brilliant; he truly amazed me.... And you get the ingenious Andy Sneap producing this thing! Very cool indeed…. I can't wait for 2010 and for this masterpiece to come out! BRILLIANT."
Tornillo added: "I am not going to try to fill Udo Dirkschneider's shoes. I am different. What I will do is be true to myself. However, when we play the old stuff, I will try to also be true to the originals. The fans deserve that. They want to hear ACCEPT so I will do the best to make it sound like ACCEPT, be it on this new album or on stage." 10

SLASH\'s New Single To Feature OZZY OSBOURNE; More Guest Singers RevealedMistress Carrie of the Worcester/Boston, Massachusetts radio station WAAF has posted the following message on her official blog:
"One of the benefits of being the Music Director of WAAF is hearing new music WAY before anyone else!
"Today I got a chance to hear some of the new Slash [VELVET REVOLVER/ex-GUNS N' ROSES] album that will be released in March of 2010. We should have the new single (which is going to feature Ozzy [Osbourne] on lead vocals) in January!
"This song was AWESOME! And the lyrics are going to piss off Axl and BLACK SABBATH!
"I heard Chris Cornell, Kid Rock, M. Shadows, and even Fergie lending their voices to Slash. They were all great! Also featured on the lineup… Lemmy, Iggy, Alice Cooper, Flea, Duff, Myles Kennedy and, you guessed, Dave Grohl!
"According to my 'source,' Slash wrote the 'blueprint' for the songs with someone specific in mind. Then he asked that person to get involved and help write and record the track!
"Every song has a bit of Slash and the other musicians in it… Very COOL!
"This album is going to be HUGE!"
Slash has just released a two-track CD single in Japan containing the song "Sahara" (featuring singer Koshi Inaba of the Japanese hard rock duo B'Z) and a version of the GN'R classic "Paradise City" (featuring CYPRESS HILL and Fergie [a.k.a. Stacy Ann Ferguson] of the BLACK EYED PEAS).
Slash recently told MusicRadar.com that he got almost every special guest he wanted to appear on his upcoming solo album, except for one: WHITE STRIPES singer/guitarist and DEAD WEATHER drummer Jack White. Slash revealed, "I wanted to get Jack White to sing on something, but he didn't want to sing. He said I'll play drums, I'll play guitar, but I don't wanna sing. He was one guy that I wanted to work with. Pretty much everyone else that I went after I managed to get."
"Slash" will see Roadrunner Records enter into a unique and innovative association with a U.K. media partner — the special-interest media group Future. In a brand new concept in record distribution the standard album release will be preceded by a "fan pack," in which the Roadrunner Records album will be bundled together with a highly collectable special issue of Future Publishing's Classic Rock magazine dedicated to Slash's career. This will be the first format of the album available anywhere in the world.
Slash tracked most of the CD with former NINE INCH NAILS drummer Josh Freese and ex-JANE'S ADDICTION bassist Chris Chaney. 1

AVANTASIA: New Album Titles AnnouncedEDGUY frontman Tobias Sammet's AVANTASIA project will celebrate its comeback next year with a new epic masterpiece, to be released as two separate albums entitled "The Wicked Symphony" and "Angel Of Babylon".
So far Tobias has confirmed the following musicians to be part of the forthcoming AVANTASIA opus:
* Klaus Meine (SCORPIONS)
* Tim "Ripper" Owens (JUDAS PRIEST, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, ICED EARTH)
* Eric Singer (KISS, ALICE COOPER)
* Michael Kiske (HELLOWEEN)
* Jorn Lande (MASTERPLAN, ARK, MILLENIUM)
* Bob Catley (MAGNUM)
* Sascha Paeth
* Felix Bohnke (EDGUY)
* Alex Holzwarth (RHAPSODY, SIEGES EVEN)
* Russell Allen (SYMPHONY X)
Regarding his decision to release the next AVANTASIA chapter in two separate CDs, Tobias said, "I have always given my very best, but this new chapter in AVANTASIA's history is too much and too ambitious to be just a regular album. I have worked on it for years now, and it has become even more than two albums!
"I knew that story would be spread out over two albums back then when we started working on it in 2006, 'cause we had written a real rock opera of over 20 songs even back then. But since then, we kept composing, and out came even bigger and better material.
"Looking at the music industry today with all the CD burning and downloading, I guess in the near future many of us traditional rock and metal bands won't be able to spend such a production budget. I am afraid I won't be able to afford so many guests and such a big production with orchestration and a choir and all that. That's why this production takes so much time; it may be the last big epic I will be able to afford, and I want it to be the biggest piece I have worked on so far."
Kiske has appeared on every AVANTASIA album so far, including the first two full-length releases, "The Metal Opera" (2001) and "The Metal Opera Pt. II" (2002).
On the topic of the new AVANTASIA album's musical direction, Sammet recently stated, "We've got quite many songs, and it ranges from epic ballads to metal opera. From pop to hard rock to folk to speed metal. My best friend, who co-wrote the story of 'The Metal Opera' back then, just listened to some of the tracks and he said that it will blow people away and enchant AVANTASIA fans and it will surely piss people off . . . It's just enchanting music. And these days honest and good music is kind of offending to some, that's pretty sick, isn't it? But as long as I get goose bumps hearing majestic music, I do not really care if I am fashionable or not."
The most recent album from AVANTASIA, "The Scarecrow", was one of the 20 best-selling albums in whole Europe during the fourth week of January 2008, according to a press release.
"The Scarecrow" was released on January 25, 2008 as a standard CD as well as rare picture (double) vinyl. It features a long list of guest musicians, including Bob Catley, ex-MASTERPLAN frontman Jorn Lande, ex-HELLOWEEN singer Michael Kiske, Alice Cooper, KISS drummer Eric Singer, SCORPIONS guitarist Rudolf Schenker and GAMMA RAY's Kai Hansen. The album produced a Top 10 German hit single, "Lost In Space", and entered the national charts in 15 countries, with the CD landing in the Top 10 in four countries. 6

Devon Graves Closes The PSYCHOTIC WALTZ Reunion ChapterIn a recent interview to Rocking.gr, Devon Graves discusses about the past, the present and the future of his music career.
Devon closes the chapter of a possible PSYCHOTIC WALTZ reunion, claiming that it would take a miracle to happen. “I have tried over and over again to make it happen. We were offered 20,000 Euros for a single concert. So if that couldn’t convince those guys, then I don’t think anything will.”

ACACIA AVENUE Ink Deal With Lion MusicLion Music has announced the signing of ACACIA AVENUE for their self-titled debut album, set for release in January 2010.
Led by Danish guitarist and songwriter Torben Enevoldsen (SECTION A, FATAL FORCE) the initial idea for the album came about from Torben writing in a more melodic hard rock nature than his other bands. Quickly the idea emerged to do a whole album in this style but to spice things up Torben called in a few good friends to participate as singers and co-writers.
Tony Mills (TNT, SHY) was the first to join in and together they wrote and recorded 'Don’t Call Me Tonight' and 'Wait No More'. Geir Rönning (RADIOACTIVE, PRISONER) began writing with Torben immediately after and together they penned the songs 'Hold On', 'No Looking Back' and 'Digging'. Enevoldsen wrote the rest of the songs by himself, but Torben Lysholm (PANGEA, MYSTERELL) wrote the lyrics for 'Just Wanna Be With You' and sang vocals on 'Can’t Make You Stay' and the Japanese bonus track 'Cold'. Finally Lars Säfsund (W.O.A.) performed the vocals on 'An Illusion'.
Apart from playing all guitars, bass and keyboards on the album, Torben Enevoldsen sang backing vocals on a few songs and also did the lead vocals on 'Jamie´s In Love' and 'Let Go'. Thomas Heintzelmann (Section A, DECOY) played drums and Carsten Neumann (SAVAGE AFFAIR) helped out with the bass.
Acacia Avenue is sure to please fans of strong hard melodic rock with each track being home to catchy vocal melodies, strong instrumentation and a crisp clean production.

Original KILLING JOKE Lineup Signs With SPINEFARM, Begins Work On New Album With a reputation forged in fire, brimstone and magic, KILLING JOKE have long been one of rock's most iconic and influential outfits. Now, 30 years since first bonding in blood, the original lineup of Jaz Coleman (vocals), Geordie (guitar), Youth (bass) and Paul Ferguson (drums) is set to start work on its 13th studio album — the first fruits of a new worldwide deal with Spinefarm Records. Due in April 2010, this latest set of recordings (title to be confirmed) will see the aforementioned musicians sharing studio space for the first time in 27 years, having already road-tested their relationship with sold-out shows around the world, kicking off in Tokyo last autumn.
Over the years, the band members have chosen to develop their talents in a variety of ways: triple Grammy winner Jaz Coleman, for instance, has established an international reputation working with some of the world's greatest symphony orchestras, while Martin "Youth" Glover has become one of the U.K.'s most celebrated producers, supervising albums from THE VERVE and PRIMAL SCREAM, amongst others, as well as achieving major success as one half of highly-regarded duo THE ORB.
Covered by METALLICA, FOO FIGHTERS and more, KILLING JOKE's apocalyptic vision continues to draw praise from such high-profile supporters as Jimmy Page and Billy Corgan, and the band's considerable musical legacy can be heard in the works of NIRVANA, MINISTRY, NINE INCH NAILS and the like — artists whose rise to fame never saw them cutting ties with the underground/alternative scene.
Once described by Paul Ferguson as "the sound of the earth vomiting," KILLING JOKE is now poised to take its music of resistance to a whole new level, both in the studio and on the road. 1
