ABORYM Announce New Album Title, Track ListingItalian black metallers ABORYM, now featuring former EMPEROR and current SCUM drummer Bård "Faust" Eithun, have set "Generator" as the title of their fourth album, tentatively due before the end of the year via Season of Mist. According to a press release, "'Generator' holds the spirit of dark and unparalleled black metal bound together with a crushing death metal approach — all stitched up with the Italians' fantastic ability to naturally incorporate electronic elements and layers.
"Generator" features Eithun on drums, Prime Evil (MYSTICUM) on vocals, Fabban Malfeitor on bass, synth and backing vocals and Nysrokinfernalien on guitar and guitar synths.

CHAIN COLLECTOR to release debut album in NovemberCHAIN COLLECTOR, the Norwegian band featuring guitarist Gøran Bomann (CARPATHIAN FOREST), drummer Anders Kobro (CARPATHIAN FOREST, GREEN CARNATION, LAST CALL INC), guitarist Kjell Jacobsen (NEON GOD) and vocalist Kjetil Nordhus (TRAIL OF TEARS, GREEN CARNATION), will release their debut album, "The Masquerade", in Europe, Canada, South America and Australia via Massacre Records on November 18 and in the rest of the world (including the U.S.) through Sound Riot Records on November 4.
"The Masquerade" was recorded and mixed at DUB studio in Kristiansand, Norway with producer Endre Kirkesola during November-December 2004. The mastering duties were handled this past June at The Cutting Room.

SEPULTURA to release live CD and DVDBrazilian thrashers SEPULTURA will release a live CD and DVD, entitled "Live in São Paulo", on November 8 via SPV USA. Recorded on April 3, 2005 in front of a rabid hometown crowd — 90 percent of which was reportedly decked out in SEPULTURA gear — the band played a "best of" setlist with tracks that go as far back as 1985's "Bestial Devastation" all the way to 2003's "Roorback".
"Live in São Paulo" will be released on CD and DVD as two separate packages. The complete track listing is as follows:

DESTRUCTION confirmed for the Live \'N\' Louder Rock FestGerman thrashers DESTRUCTION have been confirmed for the Live 'N' Louder Rock Fest on October 15 at Gigantinho in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Also scheduled to appear at the event are SCORPIONS, NIGHTWISH, TESTAMENT, SHAAMAN, RAGE, THE 69 EYES and TOCATTA MAGNA.
As previously reported, DESTRUCTION have uploaded their video for the track "The Alliance of Hellhoundz" at their official web site. Check it out at Destruction.de. "The Alliance of Hellhoundz" comes off the group's latest CD, "Inventor of Evil", available now in Europe on AFM Records. The CD will receive a North American release on October 25 via Candlelight Records.
DESTRUCTION recorded "Inventor of Evil" with producer Peter Tätgtren (HYPOCRISY, PAIN), V.O. Pulver (GURD) and their live engineer Franky Winkelmann at studios in Germany and Switzerland. The mix was done by Tätgtren at the Abyss Studios in Sweden.

CREST OF DARKNESS Continuing Work On New Material; Live DVD In The WorksNorwegian black metallers CREST OF DARKNESS have posted the following update on their official web site:
"Some of you might now that Ingar [Amlien, vocals/bass] has joined his old bandmates from CONCEPTION to play a few reunion concerts this autumn. Because of this, and the fact that it has been pretty silent around CREST OF DARKNESS the latest months, some people are wondering what's happening with CREST OF DARKNESS now? To make it clear: Ingar is giving his 'dark child' CREST OF DARKNESS the highest priority also in the future!!! He has, of course, laid quite a lot of work into CONCEPTION when they have prepared themself to their 'comeback,' but all through the summer CREST OF DARKNESS has worked with new material to their forthcomming album. CREST OF DARKNESS has also played a few selected conserts, and they are also going to make the live DVD, which has been planned for a while."
As previously reported, CREST OF DARKNESS have set "Give Us the Power to Do Your Evil" as the title of their fifth full-length album, tentatively due next year.
CREST OF DARKNESS' fourth album, "Evil Knows Evil", was released in early 2004 through My Kingdom Music. The follow-up to 2000's "Project Regenration" was recorded at MLP Studio in Gjvik, Norway with co-producer/engineer Nils H. Mhlum. Mastering took place at Outer Sound Studios with Giuseppe Orlando (NOVEMBRE).

PRIMAL FEAR: 'Seven Seals' Video, New Album Samples Posted OnlinePRIMAL FEAR's video for the song "Seven Seals" has been posted online at NuclearBlast.de (Real Media). The clip was shot in July in Munich, Germany with director Volker Hannwacker of AVA Studios. Check out photos from the video shoot at this location. "Seven Seals" is the title track from the German power metallers' new album, due in North America on October 15 via Nuclear Blast Records (October 21 in Germany, October 24 in the rest of the world).
The follow-up to 2004's "Devil's Ground", "Seven Seals" (view cover here) was produced by the group's bassist, Mat Sinner, along with Charlie Bauerfeind (BLIND GUARDIAN, HALFORD, HAMMERFALL), at the House of Music studio near Stuttgart, Germany and was mixed at the Warehouse studio in Vancouver, British Columbia with Mike Fraser (AC/DC, METALLICA, COVERDALE/PAGE, SLIPKNOT, AEROSMITH, THE CULT). Mastering duties were handled by Achim Köhler at Indiscreet Mastering and Björn Engelmann at the Cutting Room in Sweden. Audio samples of all 10 of the album's cuts can be found at this location.
PRIMAL FEAR have been confirmed as the support band for HELLOWEEN on their upcoming European tour beginning in late November.

HOLY MOSES Introduce New MembersLong-running German thrashers HOLY MOSES introduced two new bandmembers during their appearance at the Occultfest on September 3 in Hoogeveen, the Netherlands: bassist Ozzy (ex-WARPATH, TEMPLE OF THE ABSURD, LA CRY, ELF) and drummer Asgard.
HOLY MOSES had their early albums "Finished with the Dogs" (1987) and "The New Machine of Liechtenstein" (1989) reissued through Armageddon Music last month. The CDs were digitally re-mastered and will be released in the jewel-case format, with full booklets, lyrics, liner notes, modified artwork and never-before-seen photos of HOLY MOSES and the group's frontwoman, Sabina Classen.
Armageddon Music have announced plans to re-release the rest of HOLY MOSES' early catalog in the fall, including the 1986 debut "Queen of Siam" (which has never been released on CD), 1990's "World Chaos", 1991's "Terminal Terror" and 1992's "Reborn Dogs". A retrospective DVD will follow in the spring.

METALIUM Film German Concert For Upcoming DVDMETALIUM's concert at the Jahnhalle in Nordenham, Germany on Friday (Sept. 23) was recorded for the group's new DVD, "Metalian Attack – Part 2", tentatively due in early 2006 via Armageddon Music. The disc will also include footage from the band's appearance at the Bloodstock festival in the U.K., where the group reportedly performed for more than 2,000 people. No further information is currently available.
METALIUM's fifth studio album, "Demons of Insanity - Chapter Five", was released this past spring via Armageddon Music (Crash Music, Inc. in the U.S.). The CD was recorded at Jumpower studios in Mallorca and Tornado studios in Hamburg with producer/bassist Lars Ratz. Guesting on the album, once again, was legendary keyboardist Don Airey (DEEP PURPLE, OZZY OSBOURNE, WHITESNAKE).

SOUL DOCTOR Sign With FRONTIERS RECORDSFrontiers Records have announced the signing of SOUL DOCTOR, featuring singer Tommy Heart (FAIR WARNING). The group's third studio opus, "For a Fistful of Dollars", is scheduled for release on December 5.
Born in 2001 as a hard-rockin' union featuring Heart together with Chris Lyne on guitar, ex-BONFIRE man Joerg Deisinger and drummer Zacky, SOUL DOCTOR have earned their reputation thanks to two solid studio albums and tours with the likes of KINGDOM COME, ALICE COOPER, DIO and AXEL RUDI PELL. With a renewed lineup, featuring a new rhythm section with Jogy Rautenberg on bass and Mario B. on drums (both ex-SKEW SISKIN), SOUL DOCTOR are now back with a new long-player entitled "For a Fistful of Dollars".

DREAM EVIL Rejoined By Singer, BassistSweden's DREAM EVIL have been rejoined by vocalist Niklas Isfeldt and bassist Peter Stålfors. "Whatever the reason, the only important thing is that they are back in the family again, and that we're getting ready to finally enter the studio to record the new album and follow up the great success of 'The Book of Heavy Metal'," drummer Snowy Shaw (KING DIAMOND, MERCYFUL FATE, MEMENTO MORI, NOTRE DAME) said in a statement sent to BLABBERMOUTH.NET. "A new chapter is about to be written..."
Isfeldt and Stålfors left DREAM EVIL in August, citing "personal issues" and "constantly recurring health problems." They were temporarily replaced by Jake E Berg and Tommy Larsson (ex-JAGGERNAUT, CHASTISEMENT), respectively.
DREAM EVIL's latest CD, "The Book of Heavy Metal", was released last year through Century Media Records. The follow-up to 2003's "Evilized", "The Book Of Heavy Metal" was recorded at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden and features special guest appearances by ex-YNGWIE MALMSTEEN keyboardist Mats Olausson (on the songs "Into The Moonlight", "Crusaders' Anthem", "Chosen Twice" and "Unbreakable Chain") and HALFORD/PAINMUSEUM guitarist "Metal" Mike Chlasciak.

DIMMU BORGIR Prepare To Film New VideoNorwegian symphonic black metallers DIMMU BORGIR have posted the following message on their official web site: "DIMMU BORGIR are planning to record a video from the 'Stormblåst 2005' release together with Patrick Ullaeus and Revolver Films.
"Shagrath [vocals] is busy working on his band CHROME DIVISION together with Lex Icon of COVENANT, Luna of ASHES TO ASHES, Eddie Guz of THE CARBURETORS, and Ricky Black. They are currently working and recording material for their debut album. Their new website will be up and running shortly with more info on the band.
"Silenoz [guitar] is working on his project INSIDIOUS DISEASE and demo will be ready shortly. They have 12-13 songs ready and they will put up a strong demo just in case a record company should give dem an offer.
"There will be no live performances for the rest of the year after DIMMU BORGIR turned down the offer on going on tour with KORN in Scandinavia. DIMMU BORGIR hope start working on the new album in October 2005."
As previously reported, the updated, re-recorded version of DIMMU BORGIR's 1996 album, "Stormblåst" is scheduled for release on November 7 via Nuclear Blast Records. The new version of "Stormblåst" adds two brand-new audio tracks, "Sorgens Kammer – Del II" and "Abmaktslave", plus a live DVD of an entire set filmed from last year's Ozzfest.
DIMMU BORGIR are scheduled to begin writing material for their next studio album this fall for a tentative late 2006 release. The CD, which will feature a guest appearance by MAYHEM's Hellhammer on drums, will be "a full story/concept album," according to a posting on the group's web site.

GOREFEST: New Album Samples Posted OnlineReunited Dutch metallers GOREFEST have posted several udio samples from their upcoming "La Muerte" album at Gorefest.nl. The CD is scheduled for release in Europe on October 31 via Nuclear Blast Records.
"La Muerte" was recorded at Excess studio in Rotterdam, Holland with engineer Hans Pieters. Mixing duties were handled in August by Tue Madsen (THE HAUNTED, ABORTED, DISBELIEF, BORN FROM PAIN) at Antfarm studio in Denmark. A video for the album's opening track, "For the Masses", was recently shot with director Maurice Swinkels of LowLife Media (EXODUS, ABORTED, PRIMAL FEAR).
GOREFEST issued several CDs through the Nuclear Blast label in the early 1990s before switching to SPV for their last album, 1998's "Chapter 13".
Nuclear Blast Records reissued the entire GOREFEST back catalog in July, complete with unreleased tracks, demos and other rarities. Everything was remastered, and booklets contain liner notes by renowned Dutch journalist and writer Robert Haagsma, along with many pics from the band's own private stash. In addition, Nuclear Blast has thrown in a cool box in which to store all the CDs from the collection.

ENSIFERUM Part Ways With Drummer, Announce ReplacementFinnish folk-influenced melodic death metal band ENSIFERUM, now featuring in its ranks NORTHER frontman Petri Lindroos, have officially parted ways with drummer Oliver Fokin.
"As some of you may have already noticed, there's been a new man behind the drums at the live concerts during the past six months," the group write on their web site. "Janne Parviainen has been substituting for Oliver Fokin and is now a steady member. The main reason for this change in the band was that there were too many differences of interests."
As previously reported, ENSIFERUM will enter Sonic Pump studios in Helsinki in November to record a mini-CD containing one new track, new studio recordings of several old demo songs, and a couple of traditional Finnish folk covers. The as-yet-untitled effort will be released in early 2006. The group's next full-length release is scheduled to be recorded in the summer of 2006.
ENSIFERUM's sophomore album, "Iron", was released in April 2004 through Spinefarm Records. The follow-up to 2001's "Ensiferum" was recorded in the summer of 2003 at Sweet Silence studios in Copenhagen, Denmark with producer Flemming Rasmussen (METALLICA, ARTILLERY, MORBID ANGEL).

CANNIBAL CORPSE To Record Their 'Heaviest, Most Brutal' Album Ever CANNIBAL CORPSE are scheduled to enter Mana Studios in St. Petersburg, Florida on October 17 with producer Erik Rutan (MORBID ANGEL, HATE ETERNAL) to begin recording their tenth album, tentatively due in early 2006 via Metal Blade Records. "The recording and mixing should be complete by December, and the album's release date will hopefully be sometime in March of 2006," the band write in a statement. "After the release, we look forward to getting out on the road and performing for all of our great fans worldwide.
"As for the new album, we are doing everything we can to make sure it's the heaviest, most brutal one we've ever made. We have 11 songs completed and if possible we'd like to write one or two more before entering the studio."
CANNIBAL CORPSE have yet to announce a permanent replacement for guitarist Jack Owen, who left the band in 2004. The group have been utilizing session musicians for their recent touring activities, including Jeremy Turner (ex-ORIGIN) and Rob Barrett (who played with the band from 1993 to 1997 and appeared on "The Bleeding" and "Vile" albums). 2

MORTIIS Announce New Session GuitaristNorway's legendary eccentric artist MORTIIS has posted the following message at his official web site:
"We're getting ready to head off to the U.S. for about four weeks to tour as part of the DANZIG 'Blackest of the Black' tour, and replacing Åsmund as a session guitarist is Levi's brother, Åge Michael Trøite. We just had some new promo shots taken for the lineup for this tour, so you can check out what the band looks like after 40 hours of virtually no sleep. It's not pretty but we never tried to be."
As previously reported, MORTIIS has laid down vocals for the Norwegian/American project SCUM, featuring Samoth (ZYKLON, ex-EMPEROR), Faust (ex-EMPEROR), Happy Tom (TURBONEGRO), Casey Chaos (AMEN) and Cosmocrator (MINDGRINDER). He contributed backing vocals to the song "Backstabbers Go to Heaven" for SCUM's debut album, "Gospels for the Sick", (available now on Dogjob Records, a division of Tuba) and lead vocals and lyrics to a song called "Speaking in Tongues", which will be released on an EP.

RAMMSTEIN: 'Benzin' Video Available OnlineRAMMSTEIN's video for their new single, "Benzin" (Gasoline), has been posted online at this location(http://www.uweflade.de/rammstein.htm). The clip was was shot in August by Uwe Flade, who has also directed videos for DEPECHE MODE and FRANZ FERDINAND.
"Benzin" is the first single off the German industrial metallers' new album, "Rosenrot" (view cover here), due in Europe on October 31. Other songtitles set to appear on the CD include (English translation follows each German/Spanish-language title): "Spring" (Jump), "Rosenrot" (Rose Red), "Zerstören" (Destroy), "Mann Gegen Mann" (Man Against Man), "Feuer & Wasser" (Fire & Water), "Wo Bist Du" (Where Are You), "Te Quiero Puta" (I Love You, Bitch) and "Ein Lied" (A Song). The single will precede the album on October 10.

In a recent interview with Launch Radio Networks, SLIPKNOT drummer Joey Jordison said that the band is working hard to make the "9.0: Live" CD/DVD package more than just a time-filler between studio albums. "I'm not a big fan of live records, but the way we're putting this together, it's gonna be almost like buying another SLIPKNOT record," he said. "We're really gonna package it and make it a special piece. And, you know, we'll have a live video to go along with it and everything, so I'm looking forward to that as well."

SYSTEM OF A DOWN: 'Hypnotize' Track Listing RevealedSix months after SYSTEM OF A DOWN's "Mezmerize" debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 chart, the uncompromising and outspoken quartet returns with "Hypnotize", part two of a promised two-album set. American Recordings/Columbia will release two versions of "Hypnotize", the band's fifth studio album, on November 22.
Both the CD and DualDisc versions feature 12 new songs as well as artwork by Vartan Malakian, father of SYSTEM OF A DOWN's guitarist/singer Daron. The packaging for "Hypnotize" is specially designed to physically join "Mezmerize" and "Hypnotize" together, forming one unified product with continuous artwork. Additionally, the DualDisc edition will contain exclusive behind-the-scenes footage showing the making of both records.
More importantly, the albums interlock musically. The final track on "Hypnotize", "Soldier Side", completes "Soldier Side Intro", which appears as the opening track on "Mezmerize".
