AC/DC: \'The Bon Scott Years\' Unauthorized DVD Due In NovemberAccording to a post at AC/DC Ruff Stuff, the previously announced AC/DC DVD, "Inside AC/DC" (view cover here), has been retitled "AC/DC - The Bon Scott Years" and is currently scheduled for release in November. Item description reads as follows:
"This is the ultimate critical review of a legendary band in the crucial years with Bon Scott at the helm. For many fans Bon was a legendary frontman without equal, and his leather-lunged power was the key to a host of classic hits from 'Whole Lotta Rosie' to 'Let There Be Rock'. "Featuring rare footage, much of it appearing on DVD for the first time, this powerful film draws together a team of leading critics and working musicians to review the legacy of one of the greatest frontmen in rock. "The film is totally unauthorized and has not been approved by past or present members or management of the band."
As previously reported, guitarist Angus Young recently told Hit Parader magazine that AC/DC have written and recorded so much material over the last year that they might seriously consider making their next album release a double disc.
"We do have a lot of songs at the moment," he said. "But that's not incredibly unusual for us. We tend to have a lot of material at some point in the recording process, then begin to whittle it down. But this time, we like a lot of what we're hearing, so the idea of expanding things out is not out of the realm of possibility."
Undercover News recently reported that AC/DC are among the artists who are said to be planning performances in Australia next March to mark the 2006 Commonwealth Games to be held in Melbourne.
AC/DC's "Back in Black" album was recently certified for U.S. shipments of 21 million copies, tying it for fifth place with BILLY JOEL's "Greatest Hits Vol. 1 & II" on the Recording Industry Assn. of America's all-time best-sellers list.

"We have actually hinted at it for quite some time with him and he always answered, 'I'd be honoured,'" the band write on their web site. "It was very easy to come up with this seing how much he enjoyed playing our shit and it's not exactly going to take any time away from EVERGREY, you know, since we won't be playing live or tour or anything like that. We are very happy to have him in the band considering the work he did on the coming album, and we welcome him to the HATE."
The follow-up to 2003's "Hate, Dominate, Congregate, Eliminate", THE PROJECT HATE's new album, "Armageddon March Eternal (Symphonies of Slit Wrists)" is scheduled for release on October 5 via Threeman Recordings. SEPULTURA Hard At Work On New Album: Video Footage, Photos AvailableThe following update has been posted at SEPULTURA's official web site:
"SEPULTURA got back in the studio to record thei 11th full-length album. Everybody is in São Paulo, Brazil, close to their families and friends working everyday from noon to midnight.
"During the first week of September they recorded the drum tracks for the new songs. It works like this: Paulo [bass], Andreas [guitar] and Igor [drums] play along while the drums only are being recorded. Later Andreas records the guitar tracks playing along with the drum tracks. Then bass and vocals. Easy? Yep, that's why it takes at least a month to record a decent album.
"They'll record to cover songs to be released, later, as b-sides. JUDAS PRIEST's 'Screaming for Vengeance' and SICK OF IT ALL's 'Scratching the Surface'.
"The new album is based on Dante Alighieri's 'The Divine Comedy' and the 10 songs of the album are separated [into] three parts: Hell, Purgatory and Paradise.
"This week Andreas starts recording the rythm guitars. Everything is going smooth in the studio."
A later posting on the web site reads as follows:
"SEPULTURA enters the third week of recordings. Last week Andreas started recording the rhythm guitar tracks. Two tracks for each song, using different guitars.
"The songs, with no vocals yet, start to get the sound and shape we'll hear on the album. We can identify some new stuff and influences in SEPULTURA's music. SEPULTURA won't let you down, that's for sure.
"This week Andreas will finish his part and later on, Paulo will get in the studio to record the bass lines."
Check out a video clip of SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser recording his tracks in the studio: Windows Media. Photos of the recent recording sessions can be viewed at the following location.

HAMMERFALL To Record New Album In MayHAMMERFALL guitarist Oscar Dronjak has posted the following message on the band's official web site:
"The U.S. tour is over, and it was very good for us in a lot of ways. North Americans definitely surprised me with their heavy metal knowledge and unbelievable devotion. Some people travelled to more than one show, others drove fifteen hours to get to where the action was; fans spending over ten hours on the road to see the show was not unusual. Very flattering, and we tried to give back by delivering the best show we possibly could, as well as spending time chatting to people after the gigs. On behalf of the band, I'd like to thank everyone who came to the concerts, as well as EDGUY and INTO ETERNITY for doing this with us. It truly was a blast, and I hope it won't take another three years until we see each other again. Cheers!
"Now, the members of the band are enjoying some well-deserved time off from touring, before it all begins again in the end of October. The Swedish dates on the tour are now booked and confirmed, and reads as follows:
Oct. 30 - Skycom Arena - Umeå
Nov. 02 – Annexet - Stockholm
"Tickets available at www.ticnet.se, as usual. This marks the last time HAMMERFALL will perform on Swedish soil for over a year — that goes for the whole tour, for that matter, so don't miss HAMMERFALL vs STRATOVARIUS, coming to your country in October, November and December. For complete touring plans check out the tour section elsewhere on the page.
"Lastly, we have reached an agreement with Charlie Bauerfeind, who worked with us on the last to albums, to produce also the next one. Recordings are set to begin in May 2006, with a scheduled release in October that same year. More info on this as things proceed. Cheers!"

CELTIC FROST Mainman: The New Album Is 'At Long Last Finished'CELTIC FROST frontman Tom Gabriel Fischer has posted the following message on his official blog:
"The album will truly live up to the word that will be its title. But there is still some work to do. We are not quite there yet. I worship making albums, creating and playing music. I have committed my life to this, I have sacrificed so much for this, and, in return, it has given me all I am today. But making this album, my tenth album, has been the most difficult undertaking I have ever embarked upon. And these are not just heavy metal-typical overblown, empty or sensationalist words. I also believe I am not the only one to feel this way in the group.
"This album is a challenge, and yet the results are intoxicating. We were in the studio again this weekend and will be back for a couple of days by the end of the coming week to do some additional work on a couple of songs. We might even add a composition. Martin [Ain, bass] and me are mulling some eccentric ideas. For all intents and purposes, however, the album is at long last finished, and this week's Popkomm music industry convention in Berlin will see detailed talks between Antje, our manager, and some of the labels that have voiced strong interest.
"This album has been far from easy for me. And I have been far from easy on this album."
As previously reported, CELTIC FROST have set "Dark Matter Manifest" as the title of their first album in 13 years. The culmination of some three and a half years of songwriting and recording work, the album was largely produced by the band themselves and financed by their own production company, with additional assistance from HYPOCRISY/PAIN mastermind Peter Tägtgren during the final recording and mixing sessions at Horus Sound Studio in Hanover, Germany. Negotiations with a variety of labels are currently underway, and the album is scheduled for a release in early 2006. Original CELTIC FROST members Tom Gabriel Fischer (voice and guitars) and Martin Eric Ain (bass) are joined by Erol Unala (guitar) and Franco Sesa (drums). The band are now managed by Antje Lange for The A Label in Berlin, Germany.

DARKSEED vocalist started new projectStefan Hertrich (Darkseed/Betray My Secrets/Shiva in Exile) started a new project named SPI-RITUAL and will record the debut mini-CD in late September. "Pulse" will include 5 tracks (total running time: ca. 28 minutes) and will feature several guest musicians (Yana Veva/Theodor Bastard, Gaby Koss/Ex-Haggard, Dr. Christian Raetsch/Germanys leading ethnopharmacology book author, Kajuyali Tsamani/Director of the Foundation of Shamanic Investigations in Columbia and others).
After his award winning soundtrack/world album "Ethnic" (SHIVA IN EXILE, 2004), Hertrich now tries again to combine ethnic elements with metal like in his project BETRAY MY SECRETS (1999). "Pulse" will be released by Hertrich's new label Listen&Think Publishing and will also be licensed to Russia, including a multimedia section with a dark ethnic background bonustrack and propably a video clip (not 100% confirmed).
"This CD wonґt be a religious or ideologic guide for metal fans and it doesnґt represent any religions or ideologies in any way. It might be an offer for metal fans who are interested in different ways of understanding the aesthetics of arts from distant cultures, embedded in our familiar metal construct. I think this album could provoke even more, maybe a sensibility for things that are not teached in school or TV, but this is completely up to the listener, the main goal of this CD simply is to be enjoyed - with the option to provoke more than that." says Stefan Hertrich to Darkside.ru.
The German release is scheduled for November, official Russian release dates are not announced yet.

MNEMIC Confirm Singer's Departure, Announce ReplacementDanish modern metallers MNEMIC have confirmed the departure of frontman Michael Bøgballe. The band's official statement on the matter reads as follows:
"It is sad it has come to this, but Michael has chosen a different path in his life and wishes to leave the band. This last weekend, we did our last gig together in Gothenburg, Sweden — which was one of the most intense and energetic gigs we have ever done, and this night will not be forgotten for a very long time. Thanks to all of our friends in IMPIOUS, ENGEL, DARK TRANQUILLITY, ARCH ENEMY and most important Patric Ullaeus, who came out and made it all special for everybody! We now would like to take this time to wish Michael all the best and good luck in future endeavours."
Michael has issued the following statement regarding his departure from the group:
"It is with great sadness that I must announce my departure from MNEMIC. From today I'm no longer officially the singer of MNEMIC. There's a thousand ways to put this but none seem just accurate right now, so I'm just gonna be honest with ya all. There are two main reasons in my life for doing this. One is that mý girlfriend is pregnant with my baby and I therefore want to spend some more time at home. Second is that I'm sick and tired of being broke all the time. This is by far the hardest decision I ever had to make 'cuz I love the metal, the tours and the band. What we did together, no one can take that away from me and I'll remember every country we've visited for as long as I live. And to the people I've met on the road and all the fans: Thank you so much for being there. You made all the difference to me...I know for sure that the remaining four boys in MNEMIC will not slow down. We part as best friends and will remain so......You guys are the shit!! Thank you. And Bobo from the Summer Breeze Festival: Fuck you! Goodbye everybody....I had a blast...and who knows.....maybe we'll see each other somewhere in the future..."
MNEMIC have already recruited Michael's replacement — former TRANSPORT LEAGUE/B-THONG singer Tony Jelencovich. Commented the group: "Tony has been a longtime friend of the band, and we are 100 percent confident that he is the right man for the job!
"Also SPECIAL THANKS to video director Patric Ullaeus and his wife Tara at ww.Revolver.se spending time with the band to do another brilliant shoot in Gothenburg this weekend. This lineup change will NOT, in any way, effect MNEMIC's North American Fall tour with MESHUGGAH, GOD FORBID and THE HAUNTED."
MNEMIC are continuing to tour in support of their sophomore album, "The Audio Injected Soul", which was released in September 2004 via Nuclear Blast Records. The follow-up to 2003's "Mechanical Spin Phenomena" was recorded at AntFarm Studios in Aarhus, Denmark with producer Tue Madsen.

ENTOMBED Part Ways With Guitarist UFFE CEDERLUNDLong-running Swedish metallers ENTOMBED have amicably parted ways with guitarist Ulf Cederlund. The band's official statement on the matter reads as follows: "We want to inform everyone that Uffe Cederlund is no longer in the band and that the split is definite and amicable. We wish him all the best!" ENTOMBED will continue as a four-piece and are currently finishing up the "Inferno" tour.
