SCOTT GORHAM On THIN LIZZY Being Inducted Into ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME: 'If It Ever Happens, That Would Be Great'THIN LIZZY is among the nominees for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame's class of 2020. It is the first nomination for THIN LIZZY, which will be represented by Phil Lynott, Brian Downey, Eric Bell, Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson.
To be eligible for this year's ballot, each nominee's first single or album had to be released in 1994 or earlier. THIN LIZZY has been eligible since 1996.
In an interview conducted last week, Jeff Gaudiosi of MisplacedStraws.com asked Gorham if he ever thinks about THIN LIZZY's place in the Rock Hall. The guitarist responded: "Well, I don't. I don't even know what it takes to get into the Hall Of Fame, so I don't even kind of go there. I don't even know how it's done. I mean, do you get voted in or something? I have no idea. So, no, I don't go there at all. If it ever happens, that would be great. But, no, I don't think in those lines."
Since his untimely death in 1986, Lynott has left a musical legacy that continues to influence and inspire musicians around the globe. Even the legendary Bob Dylan has been quoted singing LIZZY's praises. Over the years, Lynott's songs have been covered by an array of such diverse performers as Henry Rollins, THE CORRS, SMASHING PUMPKINS, Randy Bachman, Huey Lewis, METALLICA and THE CURE.
In 1994, Gorham launched a new touring version of THIN LIZZY with latter-day LIZZY guitarist John Sykes. The group underwent several lineup changes before the arrival of singer Ricky Warwick and guitarist Damon Johnson. 2

MOTÖRHEAD's MIKKEY DEE Says It's 'Pure Wrong' That He And PHIL CAMPBELL Were Snubbed In ROCK HALL NodLongtime MOTÖRHEAD drummer Mikkey Dee says it's "pure wrong" that he and guitarist Phil Campbell are not listed on the ballot for the band's nomination for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
Campbell joined MOTÖRHEAD in 1984 and has appeared on 16 of the band's studio albums, beginning with 1986's "Orgasmatron" and ending with MOTÖRHEAD's final release, "Bad Magic". Dee joined MOTÖRHEAD in 1992 as the replacement for original drummer Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor. He made his MOTÖRHEAD full-album recording debut on 1993's "Bastards" and stayed in the group until mainman Lemmy's untimely death in 2015.
Only Lemmy, Taylor and guitarist "Fast" Eddie Clarke are on the ballot for MOTÖRHEAD's Rock Hall nomination.
"That is pure wrong, I would say, and I know Phil will be very disappointed, too," Dee told Billboard about the duo's exclusion. "We've been carrying the flag for 25 years together, and actually brought MOTÖRHEAD to what it was. We did 25 years out of the 40. The original band lasted just a few years. They started it off, but as Lemmy said himself they wouldn't have lasted another six months doing that lineup. I don't think we would've been where we are today without the 25 years we spent touring."
Campbell hasn't commented on his Hall Of Fame snub, but he recently told the "Scars And Guitars" podcast that many fans are unaware of his contributions to MOTÖRHEAD. "Some people, they don't even bother to read the writing credits of the MOTÖRHEAD stuff," he said. "They just think it's Lemmy's thing. That kind of pisses me off. A lot of people seem to think that way. A few times I've said to people, 'Read the writing credits.' ... It was a proper band effort, we all worked hard with that band."
Despite the Rock Hall omission, Dee told Billboard that he and Campbell will attend the induction ceremony to represent if MOTÖRHEAD makes it through. "Absolutely," he declared. "I think that's a must. Phil and me have to attend — and play there, of course. It would be a real honor."
The top Rock Hall vote-getters will be announced in January and inducted May 2, 2020 at a ceremony at Cleveland's Public Hall.
To be eligible for this year's ballot, each nominee's first single or album had to be released in 1994 or earlier.
A voter pool of more than 1,000 artists, historians, journalists and members of the music industry will select the new class. Fans will also have a chance to take part in the process by voting at RockHall.com or an interactive kiosk at the museum in Cleveland. 4

KIM THAYIL On SOUNDGARDEN's ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME Nomination: CHRIS CORNELL 'Would Be Very Excited'SOUNDGARDEN is among the nominees for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame's class of 2020. It is the first nomination for SOUNDGARDEN, which will be represented by its final lineup of Matt Cameron, Chris Cornell, Ben Shepherd and Kim Thayil, along with original bassist Hiro Yamamoto.
To be eligible for this year's ballot, each nominee's first single or album had to be released in 1994 or earlier. SOUNDGARDEN has been eligible since 2013.
With PEARL JAM and fellow Seattle icons NIRVANA both having been inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, it would only make sense that SOUNDGARDEN get recognized as well.
"When I was first told, I wasn't sure which end is up because of the jet lag," Thayill told Billboard. "Then I took some time and wrapped my head around it, and I felt good. I thought this is important, especially for the legacy of SOUNDGARDEN, and for Chris's legacy. It's really important now to understand this from the perspective of the fans and to understand SOUNDGARDEN as both a current enterprise as well as a posthumous exercise."
Asked if the Rock Hall nomination is a bit bittersweet because Cornell is not alive to participate, Thayil said: "It is very bittersweet. He would be pleased with it. That's certainly different from where we were maybe in the '80s and early '90s, but I know from Chris attending one or two [induction ceremonies] and inducting HEART that he saw the significance of it and saw how important it was to the fans and to the bands being inducted, and he said, 'Yes, this is very important and it's cool,' so he would be very excited."
Just a few weeks before his death, Cornell seemed ambivalent about the idea of being inducted into the Rock Hall.
"To be honest, it doesn't really make any difference to me," he told Den Of Geek, although he himself inducted HEART and admitted he was "really proud" of bandmate Matt Cameron, who was inducted as a member of PEARL JAM. "I'm not trying to be negative about it. The one thing about inducting HEART was that I was actually really moved by their fans, and the fans were the people in the cheap seats that were screaming, and they were outside saying hi every time you'd come and go over the course of the two days. That was when it made sense to me, that it matters to the fans, and if it matters to the fans, then I think it matters. But they deserve ownership of it."

JUDAS PRIEST's ROB HALFORD On ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME: 'It's Just Another Thrill, Again, To Be Nominated'JUDAS PRIEST's Rob Halford says that he is excited to be nominated for the second time for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction.
Having been eligible for induction since 1999, JUDAS PRIEST was on the ballot for last year's class of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, but ultimately didn't clinch the nomination.
Earlier today, it was announced that JUDAS PRIEST is among the nominees for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame's class of 2020. The top vote-getters will be announced in January and inducted May 2, 2020 at a ceremony at Cleveland's Public Hall.
"It's just another thrill, again, to be nominated," Halford tells Billboard, "and so quickly because I know sometimes the nominations can get stretched out for quite a long period of time. So to get another one so quickly is wonderful and another great moment for the PRIEST and for our fans.
"There's always a tinge of controversy about the Hall," Halford adds, "but the fact that PRIEST is here again speaks volumes about the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame respecting heavy metal music, especially British heavy metal music."
Halford, Les Binks, K.K. Downing, Ian Hill, Dave Holland, Glenn Tipton and Scott Travis are on the ballot for JUDAS PRIEST.
Downing, who left the band acrimoniously eight years ago, told BlastEcho in a 2016 interview that he "would be fine" with performing with his former bandmates at the Rock Hall induction ceremony if they were to ever receive the honor. Halford was also open to the idea of reuniting with Downing on the night, telling Billboard in 2017: "Everything's on the table for anyone that's been associated with PRIEST in and out of the band." 3

JUDAS PRIEST's ROB HALFORD Says His Upcoming Memoir Will 'Shock' PeopleRob Halford says that his upcoming book will be "more of a memoir" than an autobiography.
Earlier this year, the JUDAS PRIEST singer confirmed that he was finally working on a book, after having previously insisted he would never do so because of privacy concerns.
Speaking to Ultimate Classic Rock, Halford said that his memoir will offer a candid look back at his life.
"There's no point in putting a book together if you don't have full disclosure, in my opinion," he said. "Since I've been clean and sober, I've probably been more honest and truthful about myself than I ever have been. You only get a chance to do it once and do it properly.
"I'm excited, but I'm also kind of apprehensive as we move along," he admitted. "Because you don't know what you [should include]: Should I say this, should I say that? I don't know."
As for what the book will be like, Halford said: "I don't want it to be an autobiography — I want it to be more of a memoir. It's going to have a lot of things in there that you're going to go, 'Oh, I'm not really interested in that.' You're also going to go, 'Oh my God, I never knew he did that!' But it's going to make you feel happy, it's going to make you feel sad. It's going to make you feel angry, it's going to shock you. It's going to have all of the things that I think have been in most people's lives."
According to Halford, he has already begun working on the book. "It's coming together and it's exciting, and I think we're hoping for it to be released sometime toward the back end of 2020, hopefully," he said.
Back in 2015, Halford was less enthusiastic about sharing personal details about his life in book form, telling Australia's Brisbane Times: "I know that my own life, my own experiences have something in them that people could learn from, that could really help somebody. And that it could be written in a way that needn't be exploitative or titillating. But I'm a private person, and I can say right now, it won't happen."
Halford said the same was true of JUDAS PRIEST, whose wild 1980s were chronicled in a "Behind The Music" episode but which has yet to release an official band autobiography. "We've talked about it and we're not interested," Rob said. "It seems the only way you can get these things to stick is to make it a tell-all, to dig up all the dirty laundry. We've never been to drawn to the tabloidy, gossipy side of things; we've never been desperate for attention, or gone around shooting our mouths off like other bands. We're more than happy — right now as much as ever — to be like Oz behind the curtain, to not pull that veil away, and to keep our fans directed to our albums and our shows."
Former JUDAS PRIEST guitarist K.K. Downing released his autobiography, "Heavy Duty: Days And Nights In Judas Priest", in September 2018 via Da Capo Press.

QUEEN Blocks 'We Will Rock You' Campaign Video From DONALD TRUMP's TwitterIconic British rockers QUEEN have filed a copyright infringement notice over the unauthorized use of their song "We Will Rock You" in a Donald Trump campaign video.
On October 9, Trump tweeted a clip of one of his rallies with QUEEN's classic 1977 song playing in the background. A band representative later confirmed to Buzzfeed News that the use was unauthorized and that QUEEN was in the process of stopping Trump from using any of its music. The video has since been removed from Twitter "in response to a report from the copyright holder."
This is not the first time QUEEN and Trump have clashed over his unauthorized use of the band's music. More than three years ago, QUEEN slammed then-Republican presidential hopeful Trump for using the band's 1977 song "We Are The Champions" without permission.
When Trump took the stage at the Republican National Convention in July 2016, he emerged in front of a blinding backdrop of white lights as a lectern rose from the floor. All the while, "We Are The Champions" could be heard throughout the arena.
QUEEN's publishing company, Sony/ATV Music Publishing, later issued a statement disapproving of the song's use.
Back in June 2016, QUEEN guitarist Brian May voiced his displeasure over Trump's use of "We Are The Champions". He wrote at the time: "I can confirm that permission to use the track was neither sought nor given. We are taking advice on what steps we can take to ensure this use does not continue. Regardless of our views on Mr. Trump's platform, it has always been against our policy to allow QUEEN music to be used as a political campaigning tool."
In the "Letters" section of his site, May doubled down on his unfavorable opinion of QUEEN's association with the billionaire mogul. He wrote at the time: "We certainly have not approved this use of ['We Are the Champions']. I will make sure we take what steps we can to dissociate ourselves from Donald Trump's unsavoury campaign."
May isn't the first rock musician to distance himself from Trump. TWISTED SISTER singer Dee Snider revealed that he asked Trump to stop using the band's signature anthem "We're Not Gonna Take It" as the "exit song" at the politician's campaign stops, explaining that he couldn't "get behind a lot of what [Trump is] saying."
Earlier this month, Trump tweeted a photograph of presidential candidate Joe Biden and his son golfing with a Ukranian gas executive — superimposed into NICKELBACK's video for "Photograph". Within a day, the band got the meme removed.
According to The New York Times, Warner Music Group flagged Twitter about the issue.
Twitter users went on the social media giant to react to the meme. One Twitter user wrote, "Trump got owned by NICKELBACK as the entire world laughs. If that's not worthy of impeachment, I don't know what is." Another wrote, "As I predicted, @realDonaldTrump appears to be the first American President to be dissed by @Nickelback." 1

AMARANTHE Signs With NUCLEAR BLASTNuclear Blast has announced the signing of the modern metal outfit AMARANTHE. The Swedish/Danish six-piece is currently working on its sixth studio album, which will tentatively be unleashed in 2020.
AMARANTHE's Olof Mörck states: "It feels amazing to unveil our cooperation with the giants at Nuclear Blast! Ever since we held our shiny new Nuclear Blast CDs in our teenage hands back in the mid-'90s, they have been at the forefront of bringing the best of the best to the metal scene, and to have them as partners is a dream come true! They are not only massively experienced in the metal scene, but also wonderful people and it has been a pleasure getting to know them. We are already nailing down great plans for the future, and things are looking brighter and stronger for AMARANTHE than ever! Keep your eyes open for our next leap forward together in the near future!"
Marcus Hammer, managing director of Nuclear Blast, adds: "We're more than happy to welcome AMARANTHE and Kult Management to the Nuclear Blast family. I've already been following the group for a while as they were touring with some of their new label mates. Being both great musicians and humans, that have a clear vision and are supported by an experienced team in the back, it was a no-brainer to try to win this outstanding band for our roster. Now we're stoked to be the new partner at their side pursuing one goal: adding a successful next chapter to their already shiny career. The future looks bright for both, AMARANTHE and Nuclear Blast."
With its foundations tracing back to 2008, AMARANTHE has released five albums thus far, consistently delivering hauntingly catchy tunes led by their unique three-part vocals. Within their arsenal of hit singles, a myriad tracks have been received very well via press and fans alike; having also gained countless plays on both radio stations around the globe and across streaming services (the group's songs have been streamed more than 100 million times on Spotify). A string of support tours has blazed AMARANTHE's trail in front of huge crowds as well as at their own headline concerts (the group impressively once performed in front of 10,000 fans at Liseberg, Gothenburg). They have kept working incredibly hard over the years, the latest product of which culminated in the form of "Helix", which achieved them some of their highest chart positions in the band's history.
Before AMARANTHE enter the studio once again, the sextet will embark on their Scandinavian "Helix" tour in November, followed by a support tour with Swedish metal giants SABATON alongside Finnish cello metallers APOCALYPTICA set to take place early next year.

MACHINE HEAD's ROBB FLYNN Extends Olive Branch To DOPE's EDSEL DOPERobb Flynn has extended an olive branch to Edsel Dope after they exchanged social media posts over a lyrical similarity in songs from MACHINE HEAD and DOPE.
On Monday, Flynn dismissed comparison between MACHINE HEAD's new track "Do Or Die", which features the line "Die, Motherfucker, Die", and DOPE's 2001 song "Die MF Die", insisting that it was actually inspired by the hip-hop classic "The Roof Is On Fire" by ROCK MASTER SCOTT & THE DYNAMIC THREE. He also closed out his post by asking the question, "Who the fuck listens to DOPE!!??" A day later, Flynn shared an Instagram photo of a fan who showed up to a MACHINE HEAD meet-and-greet wearing a DOPE t-shirt. He included the caption: "This was funny... today's meet & greet. I asked her to name a song... she couldn't"
Flynn's social media posts caught the attention of Dope, who took to his band's Facebook page on Tuesday to address the MACHINE HEAD frontman's comments. In addition to using Spotify statistics to illustrate the fact that more people listen to DOPE than they do to MACHINE HEAD, Edsel distanced himself from the lyrical comparison, explaining that he "never said that the new MACHINE HEAD song was derivative of DOPE's 'Die Mother Fucker Die'. I don't own the phrase 'Die Mother Fucker Die'," he wrote. "It is a commonly used arrangement of ignorant words that will continue to be recycled for years to come."
Last night, Flynn responded to Dope's comments, insisting that he has "nothing against DOPE at all" and inviting Edsel and his bandmates to "any MACHINE HEAD show coming up anywhere in the world… to come and hang at" and maybe "even come up and sing the 'Do Or Die' with us."⠀ 4

DOPE's EDSEL DOPE Responds To MACHINE HEAD's ROBB FLYNN: I Don't Own The Phrase 'Die Motherf**ker Die'Edsel Dope has responded to Robb Flynn after the MACHINE HEAD frontman took a shot at DOPE in two separate Instagram posts earlier this week.
On Monday, Flynn dismissed the lyrical similarity between MACHINE HEAD's new song "Do Or Die", which features the line "Die, Motherfucker, Die", and DOPE's 2001 song "Die MF Die", insisting that it was actually inspired by the hip-hop classic "The Roof Is On Fire" by ROCK MASTER SCOTT & THE DYNAMIC THREE.
Flynn's social media posts caught the attention of Dope, who took to his band's Facebook page earlier today to address Flynn's comments.
Edsel wrote: "Yesterday, Robb Flynn took to Instagram to publicly asked the question 'Who the fuck listens to DOPE?' Then today, he fired another shot at our band by posting a photo of himself, posing with a fan who was wearing a DOPE shirt, with an unflattering caption.
"As a grown-ass man, I feel slightly obligated to acknowledge these 2 separate shots.
"Truth is, I like MACHINE HEAD. Killer band, big fucking draw!! If the two bands ever share the stage again, DOPE would undoubtedly go on before MACHINE HEAD. Much respect!
"That's not the question. The question was: 'Who the fuck listens to DOPE?' Well, Robb, with Spotify being the place where the majority of the listeners go these days, the answer to your question is actually quantifiable.
"Check it out.
* DOPE monthly listeners on Spotify: 1,238,355
* MACHINE HEAD monthly listeners on Spotify: 1,208,667
"Pretty fucking close, brother.
"Only about 30,000 plays separate our two bands from month to month, so it's quite fair to say that a lot of 'mother fuckers' are listening to both MACHINE HEAD and DOPE on Spotify. Slightly more for DOPE, but I digress…
"I guess it would also be fair to mention that the DOPE song that everyone, including Robb is now talking about, 'Die Mother Fucker Die' has about 30 million more plays on Spotify than any song that Robb has actually written or released.
"I'm not talking shit! That's not who I am.
"I really don't have anything negative to say about Robb. These are just the facts.
"We never said that the new MACHINE HEAD song was derivative of DOPE's 'Die Mother Fucker Die'. Actually, we never said shit!!
"I don't own the phrase 'Die Mother Fucker Die'. It is a commonly used arrangement of ignorant words that will continue to be recycled for years to come. Have at it, bro!
"In the end, I can't help that people associate the phrase with DOPE. DOPE's 'Die Mother Fucker Die' has been around for almost 20 years and it has racked up more than 60 million plays on Spotify. The U.S. military adopted the song into training and tactical drills, so any soldier under the age of 40 is familiar with our jam, especially if they served in Iraq.
"It is what it is and DOPE certainly didn't instigate this nonsense.
"DOPE is on tour, in Vienna and we weren't even aware that MACHINE HEAD put out a new song until my phone started blowing up from people sharing Robb's Instagram rant, which unmistakably and unnecessarily singled DOPE out at the end.
"I wasn't even gonna address it. Then he came at us again today. It's just silly.
"I've always had respect for Robb. He is a prolific artist and he says what he feels. I respect that. However, I'm not really sure what he hoped to accomplish by calling out DOPE, not once but twice in the last couple days.
"In closing, I hope that I've answered his question and I further hope that we've heard the last of this 'Die Mother Fucker Die' high school drama."
"Do Or Die" is available now on all digital platforms via Imperium Recordings/Nuclear Blast.
Yesterday, Robb Flynn took to Instagram to publicly asked the question “Who the fuck listens to Dope"?
Then today, he...

LION'S SHARE Releases New Single And Lyric Video, 'Pentagram'Swedish heavy metal band LION'S SHARE has made a new song, "Pentagram", available on on streaming services and digital service providers.
LION'S SHARE singer Nils Patrik Johansson explained the lyrical inspiration for the track, saying: "The new single 'Pentagram' is based on a true story about someone I know. All of a sudden, he decided that his Christian name was shit. The person in question changed his name and got it approved by the authorities. The reason of the name change was due to the fact that he late in his life became a Satanist.
"LION'S SHARE, of course, has nothing to do with religion or Satan whatsoever, but this true story is so strange and hilarious that we had to write a song about it. It will be in the live set at the upcoming spring gigs as well."
In late 2018, LION'S SHARE released a new five-track EP, plus its complete catalog remastered with new artwork on streaming services and digital service providers for the first time. The LION'S SHARE catalog features appearances by members and ex-members of KISS, MEGADETH, KING DIAMOND, HAMMERFALL, WOLF, SYMPHONY X, CHIMAIRA, THERION, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN and CANDLEMASS. Mixers include top engineers such as Jens Bogren (ARCH ENEMY, OPETH, SYMPHONY X, AMON AMARTH), Niklas Flyckt (one-time Grammy award winner and four-time nominee) and Ronny Lahti (ROXETTE, EUROPE, GLENN HUGHES, ELECTRIC BOYS).
LION'S SHARE guitarist Lars Chriss says: "We have all songs written for the next LION'S SHARE album and we're almost done with the recordings. We have also started booking festivals and shows for 2020. The first two confirmed dates are in Germany on March 6 and 7."

LEMMY, OZZY OSBOURNE, SLASH, GENE SIMMONS Featured In 'The Rainbow' DocumentaryGravitas Ventures, a Red Arrow Studios company, has acquired worldwide rights to "The Rainbow", directed by Zak Knutson. The documentary features interviews with rock and roll legends Ozzy Osbourne, Slash, Gene Simmons, Lita Ford and the late Lemmy Kilmister. The documentary will be available on demand October 29.
"The Rainbow" explores the vast history of Hollywood's famed Rainbow Bar & Grill and Whisky A Go Go on the Sunset Strip. Both iconic venues were founded by the late Mario Maglieri. The Rainbow, which opened in 1972, is filled with rich rock and roll history. Mario's Italian heritage inspired the delicious food that is served there, especially the pizza, which is known as the best in the city.
Truly a lover of music and the arts, Mario — known as the King of the Sunset Strip — helped hundreds of artists get their start in Los Angeles. Hopefuls from all over the world came to the The Rainbow with the desire of being discovered. He frequently came across talented musicians who went on to become platinum sellers. Their pictures line the walls of The Rainbow.
The documentary gives viewers an inside look at the Maglieri family who has owned the venue and dedicated their lives to preserving rock history.
"Telling the story of the Rainbow Bar & Grill, the Whisky A Go Go and the Maglieri family in this film has been a great honor and one that truly represents the history of rock n' roll in America," says producer Matthew Perniciaro of Bow And Arrow Entertainment. Perniciaro and Michael Sherman of Bow And Arrow produced the film, with Todd Singerman, Erik Kritzer of Link Entertainment, Mikeal Maglieri and Mike Maglieri Jr. serving as executive producers.
"We are excited to release 'The Rainbow' documentary as it is a true testament to rock and roll history. The iconic Rainbow Bar and Grill has been the home to many legends over the years and this is a must-see documentary for any music and sunset strip lover," said Nolan Gallagher, founder and CEO of Gravitas Ventures.
Gallagher negotiated the deal with Matt Perniciaro of Bow And Arrow Entertainment.

ADRENALINE MOB Guitarist And Ex-SIRENIA Singer Join Forces In HER CHARIOT AWAITSFrontiers Music Srl has announced the signing of HER CHARIOT AWAITS, a new band project featuring the artistic union between the awesome American guitarist and producer Mike Orlando (ADRENALINE MOB) and highly regarded ex-SIRENIA singer Ailyn on lead vocals. The band is currently wrapping up its debut album for release in early 2020.
This exciting new musical alliance came about through the vision of Frontiers, which put the two artists — each eager to create a new and exciting musical project — in touch with one another. The pair jelled very well, as listeners will be able to hear upon the album's release. Ailyn, especially, is excited to be able to explore new and very muscular, but still melodic, musical landscapes.
The resulting album, which will see the light of day in the first part of 2020, offers up songs that will excite all lovers of technical, aggressive and extremely catchy heavy metal music. Melting the well-defined metal approach of ADRENALINE MOB with more melodic hooks, HER CHARIOT AWAITS showcases the incredible vocal talents of Ailyn. Here, she moves in a heavier and more straight-ahead territory compared to her previous band, SIRENIA.
Ailyn says: "After a two-year break from the scene, I am pleased to announce my new collaboration with Mike Orlando on HER CHARIOT AWAITS. I'm very honoured and thankful to be part of it. I’m looking forward for everyone to learn about this new adventure, which allowed me to experiment and explore a new side on my singing, working together with a great musician. HER CHARIOT AWAITS is a new step forward on my music career and I can’t wait to share the beginning of this journey with all of you."
Mike Orlando says: "It was a pleasure to write and perform an album with a singer like Ailyn with music that is geared more towards the commercial side of rock. Ailyn has a beautiful voice and was great to work with in and out of the studio, as was as Jeff Thal on drums! I'm very happy with how the album is coming out. It's a great collection of hard-hitting-yet-melodic commercial rock tracks, which I hope you all enjoy."
HER CHARIOT AWAITS is:
Mike Orlando - Guitars, Bass, & Additional Vocals
Ailyn - Lead Vocals
Jeff Thal - Drums
Brian Gearty - Bass
Written, produced and mixed by Mike Orlando 1

SKILLET Frontman Laments State Of Rock Radio In U.S.: 'The Rock Market Is Dying, And It's The Gatekeepers' Fault'SKILLET frontman John Cooper spoke to Myglobalmind about the difficulties his band has encountered getting its music played on Active Rock radio stations around the United States — this despite the fact the group has sold more than 12 million albums.
"If there is anything that SKILLET does well, it's our live stage performance; it's what we are known for," he said. "It's great to play in front of new people. If the only place people hear rock music is on a local rock station, they will not know SKILLET. I find it strange because we sold so many records.
"Case in point of what we are dealing with: we are on tour with ALTER BRIDGE and the band DIRTY HONEY is opening the shows," he continued. "They have the No. 1 Active Rock song on the radio right now. We released a song at the same time as them, being a veteran rock act that has sold a lot of records, and we cannot get radio to play our song. We haven't broken Top 10. At the same time, DIRTY HONEY is No. 1, and they have 90,000 streams this week. Our song has almost 400,000 streams. I go into radio stations and ask, 'Why don't you play us?' and they say they don't think fans will like it. I mention to them that we have four times as many streams as the No. 1 artist. They turn around and say, 'Yeah, but those aren't really rock fans.' [Laughs]
"The rock market is dying, and it's the gatekeepers' fault," Cooper added. "They don't want to change or try anything new. They play bands that sell to young people, then tell you they're really not rock fans. I reminded them who was listening to GUNS N' ROSES, NIRVANA or LINKIN PARK when they first came out — young people. It wasn't a bunch of old folks like us. They will put themselves out of business."
SKILLET is currently on the road in support of its tenth full-length album, "Victorious", which was released on August 2 via Atlantic.
SKILLET's previous four releases — from 2006's "Comatose" to 2016's "Unleashed" — have been certified at least gold by the Recording Industry Association Of America (RIAA). SKILLET's 2009 album "Awake" has gone double platinum.
SKILLET has enjoyed success on both the secular rock and Christian charts, with four consecutive No. 1 albums on the latter — including "Victorious". SKILLET has also had 27 Top 5 hits on the Christian Rock charts. 1

KISS's PAUL STANLEY Has An Idea Of When And Where Final Show Of 'End Of The Road' Tour Will Take PlaceAlthough the final date of KISS's "End Of The Road" tour has yet to be announced, Paul Stanley has an idea of when and where it will be.
"We can't be running around for that much longer in 40 pounds of gear," he tells Rolling Stone. "There's nothing maudlin about it. It's a celebration with our fans around the world.
"We wanted to raise the bar again as to what a band can do live," he adds. "That's really what we've always done: we've always wanted to be the band we never saw. There are a lot of shows out there that have KISS DNA in them because they really weren't shows of any magnitude before us."
This past spring, Stanley told Australia's "Sunday Night" that "Rock And Roll All Nite" "has to be" the song that KISS performs as the last encore at the final concert of the "End Of The Road" tour. "That is the rock anthem that connects the world," he explained. "It was the start of other people coming up with anthems. They really didn't exist, per se. So, 'Rock And Roll All Nite And Party Every Day', that's a song that just connects with people on all different levels."
KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons concurred, telling BUILD Series: "How do you not end with 'Rock And Roll All Nite'? We will have played that song, probably without exception, more than any other song we've ever been involved with. You might say, 'Aren't you sick and tired of hearing that?' But I will tell you the roar of the crowd, the smell of the grease paint, there ain't nothing like it. When you hear everybody getting jazzed about that and you get off the stage... [it's] like the fire in the belly. You're dog-tired; you've just done a big show; and you get up on that stage, when you see the joy in everybody's face... We've seen it all. We've been around for generations, but when you see a little 5-year-old kid in KISS makeup on his dad's shoulders who's wearing KISS makeup, next to his father... we're badass kind of guys — nothing affects us much — but that stuff will put a lump in your throat. You have to turn around for a second. It gets me. Yes, it's music, but it's generational, and it brings families together instead of separates [sic] them."
"End Of The Road" kicked off on January 31 in Vancouver and will resume on November 16 in Perth, Australia.
KISS's current lineup consists of original members Simmons and Stanley, alongside later band additions, guitarist Tommy Thayer (since 2002) and drummer Eric Singer (on and off since 1991).
Formed in 1973 by Stanley, Simmons, drummer Peter Criss and lead guitarist Ace Frehley, KISS staged its first "farewell" tour in 2000, the last to feature the group's original lineup. 6

IRON MAIDEN Honored As Visitors Of The Nation By Congress In Argentina: Photo, VideoIRON MAIDEN was invited to attend the Congress of the Argentine Nation located in Buenos Aires this week, prior to the band's sold-out concert at the Velez Sarsfield Stadium. The British heavy metal legends were formally honored as Visitors Of The Nation and Chamber of Deputies of Argentina, a highly prestigious distinction granted to an international artist for the first time. The ceremony took place at the Salon De Los Pasos Perdidos on Friday, October 11, where the MAIDEN members were presented with plaques.
The motion was proposed and passed by the Chamber of Deputies of the Argentinian Congress earlier this year in recognition of the cultural and musical influence of the band and their music on the people of Argentina.
MAIDEN has sold over a million records in Argentina to date and has been bringing its live shows to Buenos Aires since 1992's "Fear Of The Dark", playing to tens of thousands of fans at every concert. Last week's performance mark MAIDEN's 11th visit to the country.
MAIDEN's 2019 North, South and Central America trek comprises 44 shows in six countries, which, combined with the band's 2018 European dates, means that by the end of this tour, the group will have taken the "Legacy Of The Beast" show to over one and three quarter of a million fans around the globe. 5

QUEEN's Iconic 'Live Aid' Performance To Be Recreated On 'The Simpsons'This Sunday, October 6 on Fox TV in the U.S., you can see Homer and his family recreate QUEEN's legendary Live Aid appearance for the latest episode of "The Simpsons".
See local listings for timings or visit www.fox.com/the-simpsons.
QUEEN's 17-minute appearance at the Live Aid benefit concert at Wembley Stadium has been referred to as the "greatest live performance of all time." The July 13, 1985 concert was set up to raise funds for the famine in Ethiopia and QUEEN delivered what was arguably the performance that stole the show. Led by Freddie Mercury, the British rock group delivered some of its biggest hits, including "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Radio Ga Ga", "We Will Rock You" and "We Are The Champions".
Event organizer Bob Geldof later said QUEEN was the highlight of the concert. Looking back at the day, he said: "QUEEN were absolutely the best band of the day. They played the best, had the best sound, used their time to the full. They understood the idea exactly, that it was a global jukebox. They just went and smashed one hit after another. It was the perfect stage for Freddie: the whole world. And he could ponce about on stage doing 'We Are The Champions'. How perfect could it get?"
QUEEN's Live Aid performance was recreated for the band's biopic, "Bohemian Rhapsody", which was released last year. The film has become the highest-grossing musical biopic of all time, bringing in more than $1 billion at the worldwide box office. This was despite a lukewarm reaction from critics upon release.
Because Wembley had been extensively remodeled since Live Aid, the filmmakers ended up shooting the sequences at Bovingdon Airfield outside London, where "Top Gear" is filmed. 3

STEEL PANTHER - "Just To Be Perfectly Crystal Clear With Everybody, Nobody Gets On Stage That's Under 18"Steel Panther's Satchel and frontman Michael Starr recently guested on Pitcam TV to discuss their new album, Heavy Metal Rules. During the conversation they addressed the subject of bringing women from the audience on stage during their show.
Michael: "Just to let you know, just to be perfectly crystal clear with everybody, nobody gets on stage that's under 18, alright? If we're in Luxembourg, 16 is okay, so girls from Luxembourg are way more mature. Anyways, all seriousness, we want to make sure that whoever's on our stage wants to be there, number one, and number two, is old enough to be there, we don't want any of that hassle."
Satchel: "We went through a brief period recently, for a while everybody was referring to our singer as the Harvey Weinstein of heavy metal, and that's not a thing that you want, you know? They're calling our bass player the Kevin Spacey of the bassy, and that's not cool either."
Michael: "This is what other people say, but those are only accusations."
"We're taking you inside and breaking down every track on our new album, Heavy Metal Rules!," begins a message from Steel Panther. "No better place to start than at the top with 'All I Wanna Do Is Fuck (Myself Tonight)'!"
Steel Panther's fifth studio album, Heavy Metal Rules, can be ordered in various bundle configurations here.
Tracklisting:
"Zebraman"
"All I Wanna Do is Fuck (Myself Tonight)"
"Let's Get High Tonight"
"Always Gonna Be A Ho"

Original BLACK SABBATH Drummer BILL WARD Honors Las Vegas Shooting Victims With New Song 'Arrows'Original BLACK SABBATH drummer Bill Ward has released a new song called "Arrows" to mark the second anniversary of the Las Vegas mass shooting.
Bill announced the track in a video message posted to his Twitter account. He said: "Hi everybody. My name is Bill Ward, and today I'm speaking on behalf of my band, the BILL WARD BAND.
"In the evening of October 1st, 2017, there was a mass shooting in Las Vegas. What we're going to do on October 1st, 2019 is we're gonna release a song that I hope will be supportive. To me, it's kind of like laying a wreath and sending the very best to everybody and wishing everybody well, the injured. It's just a way of saying we're very sorry that all those things happened and that we honor those who are not with us today.
"It's a very solemn gesture, but at the same time, I've written a song that I hope can bring some solace and some good things to those who are still working through that particular shooting and those particular issues that they encountered because of the shooting."
"Arrows" was written, composed and produced by Ward and features former WHITESNAKE, FOREIGNER and OZZY OSBOURNE drummer Brian Tichy, and former BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, MEGADETH and WHITE LION bassist James LoMenzo. There are additional performances by Sarah Dugas and Ezra Ward, as well as Keith Lynch on guitar, and Marcel Fernandez on additional producing and mixing duties.
Ward was on board for the SABBATH reunion when it was first announced eight years ago, but backed out soon after. The drummer later claimed that he sat out the recording and touring sessions because of unfair contractual terms, although the members of SABBATH have hinted in other interviews that he wasn't physically up to the task.
All four original members of SABBATH were present when the band announced its reunion in late 2011. But Ward split from the group in 2012, citing an "unsignable" contract, and singer Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi and bassist Geezer Butler carried on with their Rick Rubin–produced "13" LP and extensive international touring without him.
Ozzy told The Pulse Of Radio during SABBATH's last tour that Ward was not in shape to participate. "Bill Ward has got the most physically demanding job of the lot of us, 'cause he's the timekeeper," he said. "I don't think personally he had the chops to pull it off, you know. The saddest thing is that he needed to own up to that, and we could have worked around it, whether we had a drummer on the side with him or something."
It was rumored that SABBATH wanted to bring a second drummer on the road to share duties with Ward, something that Iommi confirmed in 2017 during a question-and-answer session about SABBATH's "Ten Year War" box set.
Ward in 2015 released his first solo album in 18 years. Titled "Accountable Beasts", the record can be purchased on iTunes.
In November 2017, Ward's band DAY OF ERRORS released its first two songs, "Day Of Errors" and "Blaspheming At Creation", via iTunes, Spotify, Amazon MP3 and Google Play.

Legendary MOUNTAIN Drummer CORKY LAING Releases 'Toledo Sessions' Solo AlbumHalf a century after his first MOUNTAIN rehearsals, Corky Laing, the legendary drummer and songwriter, shows no signs of slowing down. On September 27, Corky released his first studio album in decades, "Toledo Sessions", via Prudential Records. The excitement brought on by the new repertoire is reminiscent of the classic MOUNTAIN albums "Climbing!" and "Nantucket Sleighride". "Toledo Sessions" was written and recorded in Toledo, Ohio, with Mark Mikel and Chris Shutters. Chris is an award-winning blues guitarist and singer while Mark is a studio wizard and multi-instrumentalist who recently contributed to the newest Alan Parsons album. The album was also executive produced by renowned touring/studio drummer Jason Hartless and mixed at the legendary Pearl Sound Studios in Canton, Michigan by Chuck Alkazian as well as Hartless.
"With the support of Prudential Music Group, I was able to make a record of a lifetime," Laing said. "The old-school approach chosen felt fresh and new, because the magic of music never gets old. Recording and mixing in analog made this repertoire feel natural and genuine. You can touch and feel the sound.
"Who would have ever dreamed that at this point in my life I would have the opportunity to create, collaborate on, and record such a diverse piece of repertoire and have it available on vinyl?
"After fifty years at the heart of the music industry, it is nothing short of a miracle that as a result of playing and recording with the brilliance of my band, I feel as enthusiastic about the 'Toledo Sessions' as I did about MOUNTAIN's 'Climbing!' and 'Nantucket Sleighride' almost half a century ago.
"I have been very lucky in my career to work with many of the greats. I must say that Mark Mikel and Chris Shutters are two of the most creative and talented musicians I have ever had the privilege and honor to perform and record with.
"This particular repertoire feels and sounds like a place I’ve always dreamed of visiting. After 50 years of recording, I feel like I have finally arrived."
Hartless, a managing partner of Prudential Music, states: "After Corky being my drum mentor when I was starting my career off, it is a real full circle moment for me to be executive producer on this project. As a longtime MOUNTAIN fan, I was really blown away when I heard the first rough mixes and knew this record needed to be heard by all classic rock fans."

Watch SAMMY HAGAR's 'Space Between' Short Film"Space Between" is an experimental short film based on SAMMY HAGAR & THE CIRCLE's concept album of the same name. The movie follows the main character, John, through a gluttonous and greed-filled arc of his life where newly inherited money consumes him as he chases an endless circle of drugs, gambling and parties. After bottoming out, he must make a choice to go back to that lifestyle or confront his own demons and begin a path toward enlightenment and truth.
"Space Between" was directed by ZZ Satriani, the son of Hagar's CHICKENFOOT bandmate Joe Satriani, and also features footage of THE CIRCLE in the studio and onstage at the Troubadour in Los Angeles.
"I gave [ZZ] a whole bunch of money and said, 'Go crazy!'" Hagar told Billboard. "The reason I like this movie is it gives the album more legs. It's not just a record, and when you see this movie, you're gonna go back and listen to the record and go, 'Oh!' It elevates your listening and viewing experience."
Earlier in the year, Hagar said that he was unsure of how he planned to distribute the movie, explaining that he was hoping for a tour of film festivals and then a deal with Netflix or another outlet.
"I just want people to see it," he said. "It's expensive and self-indulgent as hell, but I love it. I want to have something to say; Even if it's just purely how I feel about the world, I'd rather do that than just make up some silly shit. It's the first time I've ever tried to do something deep. It makes me look forward to playing every night, and I'm excited for the first time in a long, long time."
In addition to Hagar, THE CIRCLE features Michael Anthony, Jason Bonham and Vic Johnson,
Formed in 2014, SAMMY HAGAR & THE CIRCLE quickly established itself as one of the most emphatic and exciting live acts on tour today, seamlessly ripping through career-spanning hits from MONTROSE, VAN HALEN, SAMMY HAGAR AND THE WABORITAS and LED ZEPPELIN.
BMG signed a worldwide label deal with SAMMY HAGAR & THE CIRCLE for "Space Between", and will also include select Hagar catalog titles.

IMPERIAL TRIUMPHANT Sign To Century Media RecordsCentury Media Records has announced the signing of New York's nebulous avant-garde metal outfit, Imperial Triumphant.
Imperial Triumphant officially began with their 2012 debut release, Abominamentvm. The lineup consisted of Zachary Ilya Ezrin on guitar/vocals and the rhythm section of their NYC contemporaries: Pyrrhon. Soon they met with drummer Kenny Grohowski and began to feature him on their next two releases Goliath (EP) and Abyssal Gods (LP). In 2015, they introduced bassist Steven Blanco into their lineup. In 2016, they released another EP, Inceste, which they toured heavily that year with temporary second guitarist Max Gorelick. 2018 brought about their magnum statement: Vile Luxury. It is a full length record written collectively by the trio (Ezrin, Grohowski, Blanco) in homage to their hometown New York City that brought jazz elements to the avant-garde black metal style in a way never achieved before. They toured Europe and North America extensively from 2018-19 in support of that album. Before the end of 2019 the band will come back for another European tour in November before focusing on their next full length album to be finished and released in 2020.
Zachary Ilya Ezrin comments: "Imperial Triumphant is proud to be collaborating with such a brilliant label as Century Media. We are always striving to work with like-minded people when it comes to our art. Century Media already feels like home. Our forthcoming album will be a step further into the abyssal dystopian sound and I can't think of a better label to release it."
Philipp Schulte, Label Manager Century Media Records: “We are honoured having the opportunity to work with Imperial Triumphant, doubtlessly one of the most forward-thinking bands to date. Their incomparable musical vision as well as the visual and lyric concept make them stand out as a shining example of how vast a musical cosmos can actually be. Imperial Triumphant make the difference. There are no limits. Welcome to Century Media!”
Their official bandshop Evil Greed filmed the following in depth interview at the prestigious Roadburn Festival 2019 during their first European tour:

SATYRICON To Release Remastered 20th-Anniversary Edition Of 'Rebel Extravaganza'20 years ago, SATYRICON released its groundbreaking fourth studio album, "Rebel Extravaganza" — an album that marked the start of a black metal evolution and has influenced the genre ever since. The album will now be available as a remastered reissue on December 13 via Napalm Records. By breaking up all given boundaries, Satyr and Frost included progressive and experimental parts, combined with synthesizing time signatures and backed up by guest appearances of genre luminaries like Fenriz (DARKTHRONE) and Snorre Ruch (THORNS). The album became the main inspiration for a myriad of up-and-coming experimental black metal acts and the birth of a new SATYRICON era.
The fully remastered "Rebel Extravaganza" will be released as a special limited 20th-anniversary picture double vinyl edition, as 2-LP gatefold and digipack.
Frontman Sigurd "Satyr" Wongraven commented on the reissue: "As much as 'Rebel' was a new record to us, it was also a protest. I felt the genre was turning gothic and that there were more interesting and sustainable types of expression that could be incorporated in the black metal to make it grow and spark new life into it. My own bottomless misanthropy at the time, was also instrumental in shaping the record. Frost and I are proud of how this record contributed to a development for the genre we all know now was necessary. This was a record many discovered in hindsight and that says a lot about its complexity, controversy and importance. Today, 20 years later, the new version sounds and looks better than this record has ever done. We hope you feel the same way."
In a 2017 interview with Poland's Inertia.pl, Satyr stated about "Rebel Extravaganza": "'Rebel' was not only a game changer for SATYRICON, but for the genre, I think. It was a time where everything [referring to black metal] was turning gothic. For us, it was very important to do something more contemporary, which didn't have anything to do with gothic. I think that was an influential album."
SATYRICON's latest album, "Deep Calleth Upon Deep", was released in September 2017 via Napalm Records. The disc was recorded in Oslo, Norway and Vancouver, Canada, during early 2017 and mixed together with revered studio guru Mike Fraser (who previously worked on "Now, Diabolical"). 6

New TAYLOR HAWKINS AND THE COATTAIL RIDERS Album To Feature DUFF MCKAGAN, ROGER TAYLOR, NANCY WILSONOn November 8, Taylor Hawkins will descend from the levitating drum throne on which he's spent two years on tour supporting FOO FIGHTERS' international #1 album "Concrete And Gold". The forthcoming third TAYLOR HAWKINS AND THE COATTAIL RIDERS album, "Get The Money", will be released by Shanabelle/RCA Records on that date, and can be pre-ordered now with all pre-orders receiving the instant grat track "Crossed The Line" (featuring guest turns from Hawkins's bandmate Dave Grohl and YES vocalist Jon Davison).
Produced by John Lousteau and Taylor himself, and mixed by Sylvia Massy, "Get The Money" follows Taylor's 2016 six-song mini-LP "KOTA" by three years almost to the day, and features a scope far wider than "KOTA"'s takes on suburbia's bizarro underbelly. The new album finds Taylor and Coattail Riders Chris Chaney, Brent Woods and John Lousteau accompanied by an all-star supporting cast including Taylor's fellow FOO FIGHTERS Dave Grohl and Pat Smear, Roger Taylor, Joe Walsh, Duff McKagan, Nancy Wilson, Chrissie Hynde, Perry Farrell, LeAnn Rimes and more, collectively creating a staggering, epic sprawl that swerves from classic rock to prog and glam and all points between.
"Get The Money" track listing:
01. Crossed The Line (featuring Dave Grohl, Jon Davison)
02. Don't Look At Me That Way (featuring Duff McKagan, Nancy Wilson)
03. You're No Good At Life No More (featuring Dave Grohl)
04. I Really Blew It (featuring Dave Grohl, Perry Farrell)
05. Queen Of The Clowns (featuring Mark King)
06. Get the Money (featuring Joe Walsh, Chrissie Hynde, Duff McKagan)
07. C U In Hell (featuring LeAnn Rimes)
08. Middle Child (featuring Dave Grohl)
09. Kiss The Ring
10. Shapes Of Things (featuring Roger Taylor, Pat Smear)
Since the Texas-born Laguna-bred force of nature made his Foo Fighting debut on the tour supporting 1997's sophomore opus "The Colour And The Shape", he has been an essential element of the sound and personality of the last great American arena/stadium rock band. He's played on Grammy-winning FF albums, including "There Is Nothing Left To Lose", "One by One" and "Wasting Light", and contributed lead vocals to "Concrete And Gold"'s "Sunday Rain", as well as "Cold Day In The Sun" from 2005's "In Your Honor". Taylor's previous extracurricular output includes two albums from TAYLOR HAWKINS AND THE COATTAIL RIDERS, one with THE BIRDS OF SATAN, the above-mentioned "KOTA" mini-LP that featured Hawkins on lead vocals and nearly every instrument.

DEF LEPPARD's VIVIAN CAMPBELL Undergoes Back SurgeryVivian Campbell says that he is recovering from a recent back surgery.
The DEF LEPPARD and LAST IN LINE guitarist, who was diagnosed with with Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2013, was asked about his health during an October 9 appearance on SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation".
Campbell said: "My back is the issue at the moment. I did spine surgery last Wednesday, so I'm sitting here with an ice pack and a back brace on. So I'm a little concerned about that. It's gonna be difficult for me to do these next couple of weeks' worth of [DEF LEPPARD and LAST IN LINE] shows. I'm gonna be moving very slowly. But I know that I can get on stage and I can play guitar and I can sing, so that's all I need to do. It'll be the travel in between that's gonna be extremely uncomfortable."
"As far as the cancer, I'm just doing these infusions," he continued. "I go back to City Of Hope tomorrow and get another infusion. And that'll keep me right for another three to four weeks. It's just maintenance. It's all good as far as I'm concerned."
Asked if his cancer is the type of thing that will ever fully go into remission or if it's something that he will have to manage the rest of his life, Campbell said: "Right now, it's just holding, and has been for four years. So I'm very fortunate that I caught my cancer early enough to where this is okay to keep it in this holding pattern. So until something else comes along. The technology is moving at a furious pace — there's so many new cancer treatments and alternative treatments coming to light year after year. The treatment that I'm on — in fact, I was part of a clinical trial of that — that's relatively new. So I'm very fortunate that way, that I caight it early and I happen to be a good candidate for this particular treatment and it's a good place holder. So it doesn't really have any impact on my life other than scheduling and [being] a little bit tired for a few days around the infusions. But right now it's kind of slid to second place on the complaints list because of the back surgery. So that's my more pressing concern."
For the past four years, Vivian has been part of a medical trial in Los Angeles, at City of Hope — one of the world's leading cancer research facilities — being treated with medication called pembrolizumab, which became FDA approved in early 2017.
Campbell, who receives pembrolizumab infusions roughly once a month, has also performed, toured and worked with legendary artists including THIN LIZZY, DIO, WHITESNAKE, RIVERDOGS and Lou Gramm.
Vivian and his DEF LEPPARD bandmates were finally inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in March — 14 years after the British rockers first became eligible.

JUDAS PRIEST, MOTÖRHEAD, NINE INCH NAILS, SOUNDGARDEN Among Nominees For ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME InductionJUDAS PRIEST, MC5, MOTÖRHEAD, NINE INCH NAILS, SOUNDGARDEN, T.REX and THIN LIZZY are among the nominees for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame's class of 2020. Also nominated are Notorious B.I.G., Whitney Houston, Pat Benatar, DAVE MATTHEWS BAND, DEPECHE MODE, THE DOOBIE BROTHERS, KRAFTWERK, RUFUS FEATURING CHAKA KHAN and Todd Rundgren. The top vote-getters will be announced in January and inducted May 2, 2020 at a ceremony at Cleveland's Public Hall.
According to Rolling Stone, the Hall Of Fame has also announced the individual members of each band that will be inducted. Les Binks, K.K. Downing, Rob Halford, Ian Hill, Dave Holland, Glenn Tipton and Scott Travis are on the ballot for JUDAS PRIEST. Trent Reznor will accept the honor alone should NINE INCH NAILS get in. MOTÖRHEAD are represented by Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister, "Fast" Eddie Clarke and Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor, while T.REX members Marc Bolan, Mickey Finn, Steve Currie, Bill Legend were selected and THIN LIZZY will be represented by Phil Lynott, Brian Downey, Eric Bell, Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson.
Even though artists are eligible for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame 25 years after the release of their first album or single, iconic hard rock and metal bands like IRON MAIDEN, JUDAS PRIEST and MOTÖRHEAD have yet to be recognized by the institution, which inducted GUNS N' ROSES in that group's first year of eligibility.
Having been eligible for induction since 1999, JUDAS PRIEST was on the ballot for last year's class of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, but ultimately didn't clinch the nomination.
Rock Hall rules state that artists become eligible a quarter century after their first records were released, but the Hall also claims that other "criteria include the influence and significance of the artists' contributions to the development and perpetuation of rock 'n' roll," which is, of course, open to interpretation.
Eligible for induction since 1999, KISS didn't get its first nomination until 2009, and was finally inducted in 2014.
DEEP PURPLE was eligible for the Rock Hall since 1993 but didn't get inducted until 2016.
Last year, PRIEST singer Rob Halford said that he believed his band will eventually be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. He said: "Everybody has different opinions on this Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. It's kind of a controversial issue for some musicians. And I think everybody in the band has a slightly different observation on it. But I think on the whole, it's no different to the other institutions of the same experience in America, like the Basketball Hall Of Fame and the Football Hall Of Fame. If you are included in that kind of place, it's something of an honor, because you're surrounded by your peers, you're surrounded by the people who enjoyed the same life and experience in that kind of endeavor. So if that does happen for JUDAS PRIEST, I think it will be a wonderful moment, because we're a British heavy metal band and the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame is an American institution, but it still carries weight around the world. So we'll wait and see. I think we will get in there eventually, hopefully."
Former JUDAS PRIEST guitarist K.K. Downing, who left the band acrimoniously eight years ago, told BlastEcho in a 2016 interview that he "would be fine" with performing with his former bandmates at the Rock Hall induction ceremony if they were to ever receive the honor. Halford was also open to the idea of reuniting with Downing on the night, telling Billboard in 2017: "Everything's on the table for anyone that's been associated with PRIEST in and out of the band."
With PEARL JAM and fellow Seattle icons NIRVANA both having been inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, it would only make sense that SOUNDGARDEN — who have been eligible since 2013 and were on that vaunted scene before either of those other bands — get recognized as well. But just a few weeks before his May 2017 death, SOUNDGARDEN singer Chris Cornell said it was not something he thought about all that much.
But they deserve ownership of it." 4
