DAVID ELLEFSON: Why MEGADETH Decided To Support FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH In Europe

DAVID ELLEFSON: Why MEGADETH Decided To Support FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH In Europe

MEGADETH will join FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH as special guest on the latter band's 2020 European winter tour, with BAD WOLVES in the opening slot. The trek will visit 14 European countries starting on January 20 at the Hartwall Arena in Helsinki, Finland and ending on February 20 at the Budapest Sportarena in Budapest, Hungary.

Speaking about MEGADETH's decision to support FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH as opposed to headlining its own tour, Ellefson told Danny Stoakes in a new interview (hear audio below): "The FIVE FINGER guys have been good friends of ours. We've seen 'em come up the ranks behind us. But they're doing great. They're very successful. They worked very hard. Their success is every bit deserved for them. And I think it's kind of cool.

"Normally, we come over [to Europe] and we do the festivals," he continued. "We've been looking at ways to headline or do some kind of a package tour that gets us much more penetrated across Europe instead of only doing the festival circuit. And I think it's a good way to do it. Obviously, it's big halls and arenas, and a lot of people will be there, and I think it'll be a good celebration."

MEGADETH's tour with FIVE FINGER will mark the first shows since frontman Dave Mustaine announced his throat cancer diagnosis this past spring. According to Ellefson, the MEGADETH leader is "excited" to get back on the road. "I talked to him last week," the bassist said. "I think it's important to have something to look forward to in these times and a good motivation. Dave is a fighter, and he's going through his recovery now, which is great. So we appreciate everybody's thoughts and prayers. And yeah, look, I think having something to look forward to in the New Year is a very optimistic, cool thing for all of us."

The 58-year-old Mustaine revealed his cancer diagnosis on June 17 on social media. He has since issued an update, saying that his doctors "are feeling very positive" regarding the progress of his treatment.

Although most of MEGADETH's previously announced 2019 tour dates have been canceled as Mustaine battles the disease, the MEGADETH-curated Megacruise — which is set to take place October 13-19 — will still depart as scheduled, and the band will be a part of it in some form.

Mustaine and Ellefson are the two remaining original members of MEGADETH, which was formed in 1983, following Mustaine's dismissal from METALLICA.

MEGADETH is considered to be one of the "Big Four" bands of 1980s thrash metal — a list that includes METALLICA, ANTHRAX and SLAYER.

MEGADETH has recently spent time in the studio working on material for the follow-up to 2016's "Dystopia" album.

New STATIC-X Singer's Identity Confirmed — Thanks To Neck Tattoo

New STATIC-X Singer's Identity Confirmed — Thanks To Neck Tattoo

The identity of STATIC-X's touring vocalist has finally been confirmed — thanks to a tattoo.

Ever since STATIC-X's comeback was first announced last year, there were strong rumors that DOPE frontman Edsel Dope was singing for STATIC-X under the name Xer0 while wearing a mask in the likeness of late frontman Wayne Static and performing alongside original bassist Tony Campos, drummer Ken Jay and guitarist Koichi Fukuda.

Up until now, STATIC-X has consistently brushed off speculation about Xer0's identity, explaining that his anonymity "keeps the focus on remembering" Wayne.

Earlier today, Danish magazine Metal A Day posted side-by-side pictures of Dope and Zer0 from the two bands' joint October 7 concert in Hamburg, Germany, with photographer Anders Groos Mikkelsen noticing a "specific similarity" between the neck tattoos sported by the frontmen of the two acts. You can find the photographic evidence below.

Shortly before STATIC-X's 20th-anniversary tour of the platinum-certified "Wisconsin Death Trip" album kicked off in June, Campos told the "Everblack" podcast that finding the "right guy" to front the band was "the big hurdle. But once we figured that out, then we started trying to figure out, 'How do we represent Wayne in a cool way that he would think was cool?'" he explained. "And we started thinking about all those t-shirt designs that we had of skulls with Wayne's hair and beard, and how to bring that to the stage. And I think the mask came out pretty cool, in a cool way to represent Wayne, and I know Wayne would have thought it was cool. And then keeping the singer's identity anonymous also keeps the focus on remembering Wayne and remembering the original lineup of the band and the first record, and it keeps the focus on that instead of having a 'Van Hagar' situation. We didn't wanna present it [as] 'Here's STATIC-X with their new singer.' It's not what this is about and it's not what we're trying to do. So I think the mask, it helps accomplish that."

Jay said about the addition of the new vocalist: "For us, the goal was 100% about recapturing the vibe and the spirit of STATIC-X. We were never interested in using a hologram or using Wayne's pre-recorded vocals. It has to be real and it has to have a soul and a pulse. STATIC-X has always been four guys. Two guitars, bass, drums, and vocals. We didn't want to mess with that formula. This is the most electric version of 'Wisconsin Death Trip' 2.0 that we can imagine, without actually having Wayne here with us."

Fukuda added: "At first, I was actually a little skeptical of how we could do all of this, but after I heard him sing, I was sold. I am so impressed with how far it has come in a short amount of time. I know that Wayne would be very proud of how much heart and effort has been put into this. It is truly an honor."

In a rare interview with Kerrang! magazine, Xer0 said that he needed to reproduce Wayne's vocals and stage presence as faithfully as possible. "Wayne was a very unique singer," he explained. "I can't just be myself with this. That wouldn't be doing the material justice. Therefore, I really have to be prepared. I have to learn lots of parts…find the right places in my own voice to deliver my best version of these songs…I'm never gonna sound as good as Wayne did, doing Wayne's thing. That's just common sense. But I feel really good about it. I believe that I will represent the vibe of the band very well and that we will give the fans a really fun 'Wisconsin Death Trip' experience each night."

Xer0 confirmed that he was the one who came up with the idea of playing masked.

"I've spent the last 20 years building my own identity and touring the world with my own band," he said. "It didn't feel right for my image or identity to be placed in the center of something that I wasn't part of creating… It just felt like a perfect way to keep the focus on the four guys that made this great album and started this really cool band. After a few days of living with it, I decided to spike my hair up, just to see what it would look like with the mask on, and I was like, Oh, FUCK. Let's be honest: Wayne's hair kind of became the visual identity of STATIC-X."

He added: "We didn't set out to create a 'character,' it just evolved naturally. We went to our friend Laney, who also makes the masks for many of the SLIPKNOT guys, as well as Manson's band, and Rob Zombie's band, et cetera. Wayne liked heavy metal, monster movies, and monster trucks. He would be honored by the celebration and he would dig the shit out of this."

As previously reported, STATIC-X will release a new album titled "Project Regeneration", featuring the last recordings of Wayne Static, on May 29, 2020. The rest of the group's original lineup will also be featured on the album and in the music videos, including the promotional clip for the single "Hollow", which was released yesterday. The teaser, which was directed by Xer0 and co-directed by Matt Zane, also features a snippet of the band's hit song "Push It", re-recorded in 2019 with Xer0.

Originally scheduled for release in spring of 2019, the new STATIC-X album was first intended to feature several guests vocalists, along with the original "Wisconsin Death Trip" band lineup of Campos, Jay and Fukuda.

During the recording sessions for "Project Regeneration", one of STATIC-X's producers uncovered several additional unreleased and unfinished tracks, many of which contained isolated vocal performances by Wayne Static. Because of this incredible find, the new STATIC-X album will now feature lead vocals by Wayne on virtually every song.

HEMMELIGHEDEN ER UDE... mener vi selv!

Static-X har længe ikke villet afsløre, hvem der er deres stand-in forsager for...

SHINEDOWN Guitarist On Shooting Video For Every Song From 'Attention Attention': 'We Just Want To Think Big With It'

SHINEDOWN Guitarist On Shooting Video For Every Song From 'Attention Attention': 'We Just Want To Think Big With It'

In a recent interview with "The Art And Span Show", guitarist Zach Myers detailed plans to shoot a music video for every song from SHINEDOWN's most recent album, 2018's "Attention Attention". For the clips, the band has enlisted producer Bill Yukich, who recently helmed the video for the album's title track.

"They're done," Zach said (hear audio below). "They're in the can. We did about a month a and a half ago. We went to L.A. We had already done, four, I believe, of the singles that were out, and then 'The Human Radio'. Then we spent two weeks in L.A. and we shot every day. We did it. We knocked it out. It will be coming out next year in a form — I don't think we're talking about how we're going to do it yet, but it's going to be a bigger picture than 13 music videos. It's going to be a big deal. We're really looking forward. We've never seen a band do that. We just want to think big with it. The concept was such an idea to do, then Bill [Yukich] really knocked it out of the park. There's video directors and there's guys who really have a vision, and that guy's vision is out of this world. I'm really excited to see what the finished product is. But, yeah, I'm looking forward to it. They're all connected."

"Attention Attention" debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 album chart back in May 2018. The follow-up to 2015's "Threat To Survival" marked SHINEDOWN's first full-length effort to be produced entirely by bassist Eric Bass. The 14-song release tells the story of a character who starts out defeated and slowly overcomes pain and personal struggles and becomes confident at the end.

SHINEDOWN's "Get Up" single went to No. 1 on the mainstream rock chart in December and crossed over to the alternative and adult contemporary charts.

SHINEDOWN has had 14 top singles in its 18-year run. That's second most in the mainstream rock chart's history, breaking a tie with VAN HALEN.

LYNYRD SKYNYRD Documentary 'I'll Never Forget You: The Last 72 Hours Of LYNYRD SKYNYRD' Coming To DVD

LYNYRD SKYNYRD Documentary 'I'll Never Forget You: The Last 72 Hours Of LYNYRD SKYNYRD' Coming To DVD

At the height of its fame in 1977, southern rock band LYNYRD SKYNYRD was struck with tragedy — a plane crash that killed the band's founder and lead singer Ronnie Van Zant along with Steve Gaines, backup singer Cassie Gaines, assistant road manager Dean Kilpatrick, pilot Walter McCreary and co-pilot William Gray. "I'll Never Forget You: The Last 72 Hours Of Lynyrd Skynyrd" chronicles the story of three survivors: security guard Gene Odom, lead backup singer Leslie Hawkins, and guitar tech Craig Reed. These survivors give their firsthand accounts of the wild times of the band, the 72 hours leading to the crash, the harrowing crash itself and its aftermath.

The documentary features original behind-the-scenes film footage of life with the band before the crash, dramatic reenactments illustrating key dramatic scenes, and high-end CG animations — including a simulation of the plane crash that matches the NTSB report. Rare interviews with four first responders were also captured, filmed on location at the crash site in Gillsburg, Mississippi. Based on Gene's book, "I'll Never Forget You", this documentary offers the fond remembrance of one man's journey with this legendary band, but more importantly, the loss of his dearest friend. Gene's unique perspective and down-to-earth sensibility grants unique access to the behind-the-scenes story, the celebration and the tragedy.

The film reveals stories of Gene and Ronnie's youth together, Gene's army service and how Ronnie implored Gene to join the band on the road as head of security when their wild behavior escalated. Gene was tasked with helping the band quit drugs and alcohol and keeping an eye on the business. Gene shares how his and Ronnie's plans to reshape the band's sobriety and business structure were cut short by the crash.

Craig shares his stories about serving as the band's fixer, providing access to drugs, alcohol and women. His tales of crazy parties and wrecked hotel rooms stand in contrast with Leslie's accounts of attempting to balance life as a mother and rock star. Gene, Craig and Leslie share their stories of recovery in the hospital, how they found out about the news of Ronnie's death and how they coped with the tragedy.

The film weaves the three survivors' stories together to paint a picture of what might have been and the web of tragic decisions leading to the plane crash that forever altered their lives — and LYNYRD SKYNYRD's place in history.

"I'll Never Forget You: The Last 72 Hours Of Lynyrd Skynyrd" will be released on DVD on December 13 via MVD Visual.

WORK OF ART To Release Exhibits Album In November; "Be The Believer" Music Video Streaming

WORK OF ART To Release Exhibits Album In November; "Be The Believer" Music Video Streaming

Frontiers Music Srl has announced the upcoming release of the new Work Of Art album, Exhibits, on November 8. Today, fans can get their first taste of new music from the band in five years in the form of first single and video, "Be The Believer". Watch below. Pre-order the new album here.

Exhibits has been in the works for more than a year and a half, but will finally get unleashed to the legions of hungry melodic rock fans that this band has enraptured with their first three albums. "It's been a long time indeed, five years!" says guitarist and producer Robert Sall. "Funny enough, it didn't seem that way. Everyone in the band was busy doing their own thing and it wasn't until mid-2017 when Serafino [Perugino, President Frontiers
Records] asked us about our plans for a new album and it hit us that, it REALLY was about time. So we spent the better part of 2018 writing and recording it and here we are!"

Work Of Art debuted in February 2008 with the release of their album "Artwork". Coming out of nowhere, the album immediately struck a chord with melodic rock aficionados around the world. With a sound inspired by genre greats like Toto, Giant, and Journey, Work Of Art quickly established themselves as one of the most promising newcomers in the genre. Soon after their debut, WOA guitarist and main composer Robert Sall joined W.E.T, the project featuring Jeff Scott Soto and Erik Martensson from Eclipse, thus immediately cementing his status as a star in the genre.

Expectations for the follow-up album, In Progress were sky high. Work Of Art lived up to the hype, entering the Swedish album charts at #30 upon release of the album. The next step for the band was to start performing live, which they did for the first time in Madrid, Spain in January 2012 and followed that performance with several other shows in various European countries. Third album "Framework" followed in 2014 and kept the momentum going for the band which, simply put, became the top new AOR band from Europe.

Exhibits is therefore the logical next step for WOA, an album which encompasses all that they have managed to create until now. Offering another bunch of unforgettable songs with soaring melodies (courtesy of singer Lars Säfsund) and amazing instrumental prowess (offered by Robert and Herman), Exhibits will thrill fans of the band and of the genre as a whole.

"Like always, when Herman, Lars and I get together, it sounds like us, it sounds like Work Of Art," tells Sall. "However, with this record I tried to bring out more "old school AOR" influences and get rid of some of the West Coast influences that were on our previous albums. I wanted it to be an AOR album, not a melodic rock album, not a West Coast album, just a classic AOR sounding album, start to finish!"

Overall this is certainly Work Of Art's most up-tempo and straight ahead album thus far, but - as it should be - some unbelievable softer moments are there as well. One notable highlight, legendary keyboard player Vince DiCola (author of the immortal "Training Montage" piece on the Rocky IV soundtrack) is a special guest on "This Isn't Love".

"If I had to pick one favorite track it would be "This Isn't Love", concludes Robert "It's definitely old school sounding, it's catchy, yet there's a lot of things going on composition and arrangement wise. It reminds me of a time when this kind of music was allowed to be musically interesting. Jim Peterik wrote some beautiful lyrics for it like only he can do, Shem von Schroeck plays bass and to top it off, it's got an amazing solo by Vince DiCola. We asked Vince for a keyboard lead, he came back with a whole keyboard symphony! Easily one of the personal highlights for me on this album!"

PETBRICK Feat. Ex-SEPULTURA Drummer IGOR CAVALERA: 'Coming' Video

PETBRICK Feat. Ex-SEPULTURA Drummer IGOR CAVALERA: 'Coming' Video

"Coming", the new Dante Vescio-directed music video from PETBRICK — the duo comprising Wayne Adams (BIG LAD, DEATH PEDALS, JOHNNY BROKE) and Igor Cavalera (SEPULTURA, SOULWAX, MIXHELL, CAVALERA CONSPIRACY) — can be seen below. The track, which features a guest appearance by features vocals from Igor's wife Laima Leyton, is taken from PETBRICK's debut album, "I", which will be released on October 25 via Closed Casket Activities in the U.S.

"I've always had a fascination with art being made at places out of the European/USA market," said Igor. "From bands to one of my favorite movie directors Jose Mojica Marins a.k.a. Coffin Joe. When I was contacted by Dante Vescio, that was one of the first things that came to my mind. I love the idea of a video that can be as strong as the music, especially coming from a country like Brazil, which is going through so much turmoil. The photography beautifully contrasts with the disturbing backgrounds."

"When I heard 'Coming', my first reaction was to try and come up with a simple narrative that reinforced the song's powerful and moody feminine presence," said Vescio, a multi-award winning director, writer, producer and editor from São Paulo, Brazil, whose works have been shown in numerous film festivals around the world. "The image of a witch subduing a grotesque male character (The Pig) and finishing him off came to mind. I thought it was a good opportunity to give a character with 'Naz'’ vibes a taste of his own medicine. The fact that PETBRICK's logo reads 'Noise Against Nazi Scum' was also pretty encouraging. I decided to shoot the whole thing in slow motion because I thought it would enhance the song's brutal elegance. I think there's enough music videos with breakneck speed and editing to go around. It felt right to go the other way and shoot something that you can actually look at for a while, creating the sensory experience with the images, not just the speed of the cuts."

As the year 2020 fast approaches, and our surroundings frequently appear to be only a few steps short of resembling the kind of technologically driven dystopia that previously was confined to the realm of fiction, there still exists a peculiar shortage of music spiritually attuned to these treacherous times. Fortunately, a chance meeting between two disparate yet fundamentally akin visions is here to redress the balance.

PETBRICK has arrived at an audial destination whereby electronic experimentation, hardcore attitude, dystopian dread and in-the-red dementia collide and collude to form a uniquely invigorating assault, custom fit for an accelerated age. This debut explores fresh lunacy anew whereby both members' past experience — Wayne in a variety of musical guises ranging from punk to breakcore and gabba, and Igor in a planet-straddling metal colossus whose questing spirit played a crucial role in the music's evolution — is both profitably employed and left obsolete by a resolutely genre-free onslaught whose spirit remains firmly in the here and now.

This meeting of minds initially took place after Igor — these days a London resident — was impressed by a BIG LAD show at Camden Underworld, subsequently resulting in the two staying in touch via e-mail, swapping files of material they were working on, bonding over Eurorack modular synth gear and eventually Igor visiting Wayne's Bearbiteshorse Studio where coffee-fuelled initial jams proved so fruitful that the project took on a life of its own.

"We wanted to do something different than the other projects we were involved in. Making horrible noise was the first concept behind PETBRICK," says IgorWayne.

Indeed, PETBRICK soon began to represent a boundary-free soundworld in which either member could explore whatever musical predilection or peccadillo they were possessed by and come out with something compelling, be it John Carpenter-style soundtrack cadences, Alessandro Cortini-esque synth textures. D-beat-driven punk intensity, or fulfilling a long-time ambition of Wayne's — the sound created by running all of their synths and drum machines through an ENTOMBED-style Boss HM-2 distortion pedal.

The project has also enjoyed its fair share of happy accidents.

"I think the industrial side of things probably comes a lot from Igor's playing," notes Wayne. "He hits hard, really fucking hard, and just goes like the clappers, so mix that with gabber and noise you have instant industrial vibes." Yet rather than being an album with its foot firmly on the accelerator throughout, it's one just as comfortable with the elegiac atmospherics of a track such as "Sect" as the hyperactive breakcore-damaged brew of "Roadkill Ruby".

Moreover, guest vocalists are also on hand to further up the ante. "Basically, all the collaborations on the album come from people whose work we love, and also are connected as friends," says Igor. "It's very important to us, to bring different vibes to the songs."

The result is free to traverse anywhere from full-throttle intensity (as with INTEGRITY's legendary vocal exorcist Dwid Hellion on "Some Semblance Of A Story") to exhilarating melodic counterpoint (Laima Leyton of MIXHELL on "Coming") and stream-of-consciousness lunacy from WARMDUSCHER's Mutado Pintado, whose splenetic tirades on "Gringolicker" valiantly attempt to inhabit the increasingly unhinged persona of Donald Trump.

Paint-stripping and deliriously potent, "I" is more than merely an exercise in the life-affirming flame of oppositional punk spirit scorching all or any musical boundaries in its path — it's an uncompromising soundtrack to a short-circuiting new era. Yet rarely has the sound of global malfunction also been so much fun.

"I" track listing:

01. Horse

02. Radiation Facial (featuring Dylan Walker)

03. Guacamole Handshake

04. Roadkill Ruby

05. Sect

06. Gringolicker (featuring Mutado Pintado)

07. Coming (featuring (Laima Leyton)

08. Jesus Dropkick

09. Some Semblance Of A Story (featuring (Dwid Hellion)

Temple Of Darkness Records has reissued Viogression’s 2014 EP, A Pure Formality, on MCD, limited to 500 copies.

The superb guitars riffs & solos are of extreme beauty and the bass and drums are technically perfect. As guest musicians, Paul Masvidal (Cynic) and James Murphy (Obituary, Death, Cancer)

The overall aura of A Pure Formality is dramatic, intense, emotive and yet brutal. Find additional information here.

CARMINE APPICE Praises CLUTCH's Cover Of CACTUS's 'Evil'

CARMINE APPICE Praises CLUTCH's Cover Of CACTUS's 'Evil'

Carmine Appice says that he is "very proud" to see CLUTCH recording a cover version of the CACTUS classic "Evil".

On March 27, CLUTCH posted a short video from the studio in which the bandmembers could be seen laying down their rendition of "Evil". They wrote in an accompanying caption: "Back in the studio recording a few cover songs and some other fun stuff."

Earlier today, Appice, who co-founded CACTUS with Tim Bogert, tweeted: "I am very proud to see the cool ROCK group Clutch re-recorded our CACTUS song 'EVIL'. They Rocked it Thx guys.."

CACTUS has had a long and turbulent history. Formed in 1970 from the ashes of VANILLA FUDGE by Appice and Bogert, the initial lineup also featured guitarist Jim McCarty and vocalist Rusty Day. (Appice and Bogert had originally planned a new band with Jeff Beck which was put off until 1973, because of Beck's near-fatal car crash in 1969.) Jim McCarty had come from MITCH RYDER & THE DETROIT WHEELS and was playing with THE BUDDY MILES EXPRESS. Tim and Carmine also found vocalist Day in THE AMBOY DUKES with Ted Nugent. Together, the four musicians formed CACTUS, named after the peyote cactus, which provided a key ingredient in mind-altering drugs.

While CACTUS saw success from the start and soon built a loyal fan base, by early 1973, the band had collapsed mainly due to lack of real support from its label, and the fact that Beck was now ready play with Carmine and Tim. It would not be until 2006, three decades after the tragic death of Rusty Day, that the group reformed with harmonica wizard Randy Pratt and vocalist Jimmy Kunes. When Tim Bogert was forced into retirement after a serious motorcycle accident, bassist Pete Bremy jumped in both in CACTUS and VANILLA FUDGE.

CLUTCH is continuing to tour in support of its latest album, "Book Of Bad Decisions", which was released in September. The record sold 26,000 copies in America during its first week of availability, giving the group its third consecutive Top 20 album on the Billboard 200.

KORE ROZZIK Joins Guitarist NITA STRAUSS For Live Performance Of ALICE COOPER Classic “I’m Eighteen”

KORE ROZZIK Joins Guitarist NITA STRAUSS For Live Performance Of ALICE COOPER Classic “I’m Eighteen”

As Nita Strauss wrapped up her first ever solo tour in Dallas, she had touring mate Kore Rozzik join her onstage for an electrifying version of the Alice Cooper Classic “I'm Eighteen.”

Says Kore, “This tour has been amazing on so many levels. Nita and her crew have been so supportive of us and I'm glad to call them all friends now. Alice Cooper being one of my biggest influences... tonight is definitely something to check off the bucket list!”

Nita continues on the road this summer with Alice Cooper with Halestorm and Motionless In White supporting respectively. Kore returns to NYC to start production on new music videos in support of the bands 2018 release “Vengeance Overdrive” (Cleopatra Records).

Kore's next road appearances include the Blueridge Rock Festival and a supporting slot with Lizzy Borden on Halloween at the famous Whisky A GoGo in Hollywood, CA.  More fall dates to be announced shortly.

The debut record Vengeance Overdrive is a concept record dressed in a fantasy/horror setting that showcases Kore as “The Bastard Child of NYC”. A notorious underdog artist who becomes blacklisted from the NYC music scene only to return mysteriously to silence the doubters and take his place at the top of the music food chain. Inspired by John Carpenter, Alice Cooper and Disturbed, this eclectic record comes at the perfect time with the recent resurgence of theatrical rock/metal hitting the states (Ghost, Avatar, In This Moment). For fans of hard rock/metal and horror movies!

Vengeance was produced by the talented production team Westfall studios in NYC. Rozzik has previously worked with the likes of Virus (Dope), Paul Bento (Carnivore) and has made on stage appearances with Bobaflex and Steel Panther.

Video: MACHINE HEAD Plays In Tilburg During 'Burn My Eyes' 25th-Anniversary Tour

Video: MACHINE HEAD Plays In Tilburg During 'Burn My Eyes' 25th-Anniversary Tour

MACHINE HEAD played the second show of the European leg of its 25th-anniversary tour for the band's classic debut, "Burn My Eyes", Monday night (October 7) at Poppodium 013 in Tilburg, The Netherlands.

Building on the band's previous "An Evening With…" format, the "Burn My Eyes" anniversary show is described in a press release as "a three-hour musical extravaganza," comprised of two parts: part one consists of a battery of MACHINE HEAD's modern classics, such as "Imperium", "Halo" and "Locust", featuring guitarist/vocalist Robb Flynn and bassist Jared MacEachern performing alongside new recruits, Polish guitarist Wacław "Vogg" Kiełtyka (DECAPITATED) and British drummer Matt Alston (DEVILMENT, EASTERN FRONT); part two features "Burn My Eyes" played in its entirety for the first time ever, with original drummer Chris Kontos and guitarist Logan Mader joining in.

MACHINE HEAD's setlist for the Tilburg show was as follows:

01. Imperium

02. Take My Scars

03. Now We Die

04. Beautiful Mourning

05. Bulldozer

06. Locust

07. I Am Hell (Sonata In C#)

08. Aesthetics Of Hate

09. Darkness Within

10. Catharsis

11. From This Day

12. Ten Ton Hammer

13. Is There Anybody Out There?

14. Halo

15. Davidian

16. Old

17. A Thousand Lies

18. None But My Own

19. The Rage To Overcome

20. Death Church

21. A Nation On Fire

22. Blood For Blood

23. I'm Your God Now

24. Real Eyes, Realize, Real Lies

25. Block

Fan-filmed video footage can be seen below.

The North American leg of MACHINE HEAD's "Burn My Eyes" 25th-anniversary tour will kick off in Phoenix on January 16, and continue across Texas, Florida, New York, Toronto, Chicago and Denver, wrapping up at the legendary Fox Theater in Oakland, California on February 21 and House Of Blues in Anaheim, California on February 22.

Flynn spoke to U.K.'s Kerrang! magazine about the decision to effectively split the set with new musicians playing the non-"Burn My Eyes" songs. He said: "As I was figuring it out with Logan, Chris and Jared, I explained that I can't even imagine playing a MACHINE HEAD show and not playing 'Halo'; 'Imperium'; 'Aesthetics Of Hate'; 'From This Day'; 'The Blood, The Sweat, The Tears…', 'Now We Die' — or even 'Catharsis'. 'Darkness Within' is a show-stopping moment, every time. We had to think about how we were going to pull this off. I wanted to honor Chris and Logan and not have them needing to learn 40 other fucking songs to be able to pull it off.

"It's kind of weird. We're gonna have a lot of motherfuckers on tour," he said. "But it's gonna be fucking awesome. I think it's gonna be a bit of a goddamn circus. I really want to pay tribute to the guys that were there and built it with me. I think it's gonna break the fucking Internet!"

Kontos left MACHINE HEAD before the release of the band's second album, 1997's "The More Things Change", and was replaced by Dave McClain.

Mader contributed to two MACHINE HEAD albums, the aforementioned "Burn My Eyes" and "The More Things Change", before exiting the group and being replaced by Ahrue Luster and, later on, Phil Demmel.

Demmel and McClain exited MACHINE HEAD last fall.

HOLE Members Reunite For Rehearsal Session In Los Angeles

HOLE Members Reunite For Rehearsal Session In Los Angeles

The much-rumored HOLE reunion finally appears to be a reality. On Monday (October 7), Courtney Love posted a since-deleted Instagram photo of her, drummer Patty Schemel and bassist Melissa Auf Der Maur playing together on a studio stage.

Love captioned the post, "Whose rusty af? Ladies !!!" and included the hashtags "#hole #rehearsal # tonight #hollywood," suggesting that the session took place in Los Angeles.

Answering questions on Instagram, Love wrote: "ah! We r so rusty. Just finding our way through songs n songs we like n riffs seeing what's what! It's cool. Af nice to be together." When asked about any upcoming HOLE concerts, Love replied with two black heart emojis.

This past May, Love said in an interview with The Guardian that HOLE was considering a reunion to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the band's 1994 sophomore album "Live Through This".

Love revealed: "We are definitely talking about it. There's nothing wrong with honoring your past; I've just kind of discovered that. If you don't, people will rewrite history and you will become an inconvenient woman."

According to The Pulse Of Radio, there has been talk of a HOLE reunion before, most notably in 2014, when rumors that the band — Love, guitarist Eric Erlandson, Schemel and Auf der Maur — would reunite were eventually shot down by Love herself.

Auf Der Maur discussed a possible HOLE reunion, saying she had a positive meeting with Schemel and Erlandson about reconnecting with Love.

"We've all grown older, have become more gentle, and I have the feeling that now would be the right point in time to reactivate the band once again," she said. "We did a few little gigs over the years but nothing substantial... HOLE was a great band, and it's important to remember them properly."

HOLE has been largely on hiatus since 2002, although Love released an album called "Nobody's Daughter" in 2010. The quartet reunited to perform for the first time in 15 years at a party in April 2012.

Norway's NATTVERD Sign With Osmose Productions; New Album To Be Released January 2020

Norway's NATTVERD Sign With Osmose Productions; New Album To Be Released January 2020

Norwegian black metallers Nattverd have inked a deal with Osmose Productions for the release of the band's sophomore full-length album. Titled Styggdom, it is the follow up to 2017's debut album, Vi Vet gud Er En Løgner, and  is set to hit the streets on January 31st, 2020.  Work on the album has been completed and more details will follow.

When Nattverd first announced their existence two years ago, they were absolutely adamant that they should be judged purely on their music and not on any former, current, or future, bands or releases the members may be involved with. And this is a philosophy Nattverd adheres to today, with the only additional information being a slight change round in lineup, with original members Ormr still on vocals / guitars and Atyr concentrating on guitars, whilst handing over bass duties to new member Sveinr. Former session drummer Serpentr takes on vocals and Anti Christian takes his place as session drummer.

So what exactly does the music itself reveal about Nattverd? Most obvious is the fact that this is a band that plays black metal in the traditional way: cold and nasty and filled with fury and hate, with the occasional foray into more atmospheric and melodic realms, keeping the whole thing interesting and original. But the thing that stood out most about Nattverd from a listen to their the debut album was the confidence and musical skill demonstrated by its members, marking the individuals out as extremely experienced and talented musicians, and definitely not fledglings dipping their toes into the black metal pool for the first time.

More information about Nattverd can be found on the band's Facebook page here.

LO-PAN Debut "Savage Heart" Music Video

LO-PAN Debut "Savage Heart" Music Video

Hard rock band, Lo-Pan, has released a music video for the song "Savage Heart". Created by collage artist Somsara Rielly using old school stop-motion animation, the clip takes the viewer on a one-of-a-kind metaphysical trip. Watch below.

"Savage Heart" is taken from Lo-Pan's new LP, Subtle, which was released back in May via Aqualamb Records. Recorded in NYC with Grammy Award winning producer James Brown (Foo Fighters, Ghost, NIN) and mastered by famed engineer Ted Jensen (Alice in Chains, Guns 'N' Roses, Mastodon), the album pushes Lo-Pan's already high ceiling straight through its proverbial roof.

The Ohio group, known for its dichotomic sound which merges sturm und drang heaviness with relentlessly catchy, AOR laden melody, just wrapped a summer North American tour alongside Corrosion Of Conformity and Crowbar and will launch a three week-long European trek in support of Subtle on September 30.

BRANDON GIBBS Releases New Single "Rain Whiskey"

BRANDON GIBBS Releases New Single "Rain Whiskey"

"Rain Whiskey" is the new single from Brandon Gibbs, an explosive guitar player that has a powerful, soulful voice and a brilliant sense of melody that sets him apart from his contemporaries. Brandon’s songwriting takes you on an incredible journey throughout the performance, often transcending genres of rock, blues, pop and country. His heart and soul pour out of him on stage and through his music.

“Rain Whiskey is an anthem and a reminder for all hardworking people that you can’t take it with you when it’s your time to go, so take a break and treat yourself to a party... you deserve it!” - Brandon Gibbs

Brandon helped form the band Cheap Thrill, which featured two of the members of the multi-platinum band Cinderella. They toured nationally and internationally for two years.

Gibbs continued writing during his downtime, and his song, "This Town", was picked up by the John Force Racing Team and was eventually used for ESPN’s NHRA division for three consecutive seasons.

In 2014, Brandon joined forces with Rikki Rockett (Poison), Tracii Guns (L. A. Guns), and Eric Brittingham (Cinderella) to form Devil City Angels. Their first single, "All My People", which was actually previously written and recorded by Brandon and his twin brother, was used in the State Farm segment on the 2014 Monday Night Football Countdown.

Devil City Angels released their self-titled record in 2015 which also featured three songs that Brandon previously co-wrote with his twin and another song that Brandon wrote about his grandfather, "Goodbye Forever".

For futher details, visit Brandon Gibbs on Facebook.

Former TNT Singer TONY HARNELL's LOVEKILLERS To Release Debut Album In December

Former TNT Singer TONY HARNELL's LOVEKILLERS To Release Debut Album In December

Frontiers Music Srl has announced the new melodic rock project LOVEKILLERS, which will release its self-titled debut via the label on December 6. The lyric video for the first single, "Now Or Never", can be seen below.

Well known for being the vocalist of TNT's classic lineup, Tony Harnell is an accomplished musician and songwriter who has also worked with such bands as STARBREAKER and WESTWORLD, while also performing as a solo artist. Harnell's vocals are unique entity in the melodic hard rock and rock worlds and LOVEKILLERS marks a return to a sound reminiscent of classic '80s melodic hard rock. The album is an over-the-top and straight-ahead tribute to that classic '80s sound, bringing it back with a passion and the amazing vocal register that only Harnell can deliver.

"I think LOVEKILLERS is a different beast compared to many of the things I worked on in the past," says Tony. "It has a lighter, more American and very melodic feel. It was a very comfortable territory, artistically, singing those songs. Sometimes, I also worked to tweak some lyrics and melodies here and there and on a couple of songs I worked harder to rewrite them, but I think the end result speaks for itself."

On this album, Tony collaborated with in-demand Frontiers in-house producer Alessandro Del Vecchio (HARDLINE, JORN, REVOLUTION SAINTS) and the end result is a a glossy, polished record with top-notch production. Besides Del Vecchio and Harnell, songwriters on the album include Nigel Bailey, Pete Alpenborg, Marco Sivo and Jonas Hornqvist.

Tony Harnell recently became the first American to be inducted into Norway's prestigious Rockheim Hall Of Fame. He was inducted along with TNT and the ceremony will be televised nationally in Norway later this year.

"Lovekillers" track listing:

01. Alive Again

02. Hurricane

03. Ball And Chain

04. Who Can We Run To

05. Higher Again

06. Across The Oceans

07. Bring Me Back

08. Now Or Never

09. Heavily Broken

10. No More Love

11. Set Me Free

Canadian Riff Wizards WOODHAWK Premiere New Track "Weightless Light"; New Album Due In November

Canadian Riff Wizards WOODHAWK Premiere New Track "Weightless Light"; New Album Due In November

Calgary’s Woodhawk are at it again with a new album being released on November1st. With it comes their first single "Weightless Light”.

The track comes from Violent Nature, the band's sophomore album, which steps away from the science fiction themes evident on their previous release, 2017's Beyond The Sun, and takes a more therapeutic turn, as the band explains:

“On previous efforts, we wrote from a science fiction standpoint. It’s where we all were at, at the point in our lives and reflected what we wanted to say and represent. Now, we believe in honesty and find the therapeutic side of music. This album has been an expressive honest view into our lives over the past two years.”

Putting a lot of time and production into the new album with producer Jesse Gander (Rain City Recorders), Woodhawk has worked really hard to capture energy and emotion. Based on insomnia, their first single “Weightless Light” has an intimate meaning for vocalist/guitarist Turner, as he explains:

“The song stems from my struggle to sleep for a few months over the fall of 2018. I would wake up every night at the same time and lay awake staring at nothing. My mind would race and inhibit me from sleeping, no matter what. So I would lay in this state of almost non-existence where I couldn’t tell if I was asleep, awake, alive or dead. It was an odd feeling of vulnerability. To pass the time, I would get up and play guitar in the middle of the night, until I felt I could attempt to go back to sleep for the last 45 minutes before my alarm.”

It’s a feeling many have experienced and Woodhawk draws empathy with this forceful track. For fans of Black Sabbath, The Sword, and Clutch, Violent Nature is available for pre-order at this location.

The cover art and tracklisting for Violent Nature are as follows:

"Snake In The Grass"
"Weightless Light"
"Dry Blood"
"Heartstopper"
"Old Silence"
"Clear The Air"
"Violent Nature"
"As A Friend"
"Our Greatest Weakness"

Catch Woodhawk live in concert:

October
25 - Vancouver, BC - Railway Club
26 - Kamloops, BC - Pogue Mahones

November
8 - Calgary, AB - Palomino
9 - Edmonton, AB - Temple (with The Wild!)

KETZER – Metal Blade To Reissue Satan’s Boundaries Unchained, Endzeit Metropolis Albums

KETZER – Metal Blade To Reissue Satan’s Boundaries Unchained, Endzeit Metropolis Albums

On November 1st Metal Blade will reissue the first two Ketzer albums, Satan's Boundaries Unchained and Endzeit Metropolis. Both albums will be released as Digi-CD's with bonus tracks as well as on vinyl.

Comments Ketzer: "So it's been ten years since Satan's Boundaries Unchained came out … in our last school years, we spent all time we could spare on playing and writing these songs, and when we met the Zarathustra horde and Mersus, who had just started his own studio, we got the opportunity to produce the record. A real album! We couldn't believe it at first. Well, it turned out that these were the perfect circumstances for our debut album to be created. Needless to say that this album means a lot to us. We are all the more excited that Satan's Boundaries Unchained will be available again on CD and LP, as well as its successor Endzeit Metropolis from 2012, which we are equally proud of, as it was created in a time that was especially intense and creative for us, and which has been out of print for a while now. But the wait is over: All four Ketzer albums are now available as part of the Metal Blade catalogue! LOOK OUT! BEWARE!"

Formats:

Satan's Boundaries Unchained
- Digi-CD with two bonus tracks
- 180g black vinyl
- yellow/white marbled vinyl (ltd. 200 - EU-exclusive)
- maroon marbled vinyl (ltd. 200 - EU-exclusive)

Watch GUNS N' ROSES Perform 'Locomotive' Song For First Time Since 1992

Watch GUNS N' ROSES Perform 'Locomotive' Song For First Time Since 1992

GUNS N' ROSES performed the song "Locomotive" live for the first time since 1992 during last night's (Monday, October 7) concert in Wichita, Kansas. One of the band's longest tracks at nearly nine minutes, it originally appeared on GN'R's "Use Your Illusion II" album in 1991, although it was written several years earlier prior to the release of the group's debut LP, 1987's "Appetite For Destruction".

GUNS N' ROSES' current trek runs through November 2. This leg of the tour will close out with two shows at the The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

"Not in This Lifetime" launched more than three years ago and will continue through the U.S. and play major shows in Mexico including Estadio Jalisco in Guadalajara and Estadio Caliente in Tijuana in late October.

In addition, the band is hitting up several festivals, including Austin City Limits, Louder Than Life, Exit 111 and Voodoo.

"Not In This Lifetime" is now believed to be the second-highest-grossing tour of all time, having generated more than $500 million since it began in April 2016.

Since the end of the 2018 leg of the tour, guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan both returned to solo endeavors.

The "Not In This Lifetime" tour features classic-lineup members Slash, McKagan and singer Axl Rose backed by guitarist Richard Fortus, drummer Frank Ferrer, keyboardist Dizzy Reed and second keyboardist Melissa Reese.

H.E.A.T. To Release New Album II In 2020

H.E.A.T. To Release New Album II In 2020

H.E.A.T has announced the release of a brand-new album, titled II, early next year. II is the first album ever to be produced entirely by the band with Jona Tee (keyboards) and Dave Dalone (guitar) as producers. “This is how we would sound if we made a debut album 2019, hence the title II” – H.E.A.T

First out is the brand new single “One By One” with an animated video to go with it, which was released on Friday, September 27. “‘One By One’ is about enlightening people and showing an alternative path to life. A road less travelled, if you will.” – H.E.A.T

The second single – the anthem “RISE” – is scheduled to be released later this fall.

“‘RISE’ is about uniting and rebel against the powers that be. Whatever that may be is subjective to the listener.” – H.E.A.T

Earlier this year the band recently released their live album Live At Sweden Rock Festival.

Their second ever live recording – and for the first time on video – includes all of the band’s remarkable hymns such as “Living On The Run”, “A Shot At Redemption” and “Bastard Of Society”. Every song from this setlist is as lively and intoxicating as the next, making this a memorable show that every rock music fan will enjoy.

"It’s scary how your world can be turned upside down in a couple of weeks.

"I went to my doctor for a routine check complaining about some back pains in mid-August. I then went through numerous scans, bronchoscopy, biopsies etc. and spent a lot of time waiting for answers in uncertainty. And so finally three weeks ago I found myself diagnosed with lung cancer.

"Now this has by all means been a shock to me, my family and those close to me since it came totally unexpected without any typical symptoms and everything just happened and developed so fast lately.

"I’m already in treatment and underwent surgery two weeks ago, then spend some 10 days in hospital with pneumonia as a consequence apparently linked to the surgery.

"According to the medical staff my prospects are good considering it’s lung cancer. However, I will have to undertake further treatment the next couple of months to be on the safe side.

"This means that I unfortunately will have to step back from most musical activities concerts etc. for an indefinite period of time.

"I’m going into this with a positive mindset and with the continuing love and support from my family and friends I’m determined to battle this disease the best I can - God willing!"

EXMORTUS Release Shred-tastic "Beetlejuice" Cover; Playthrough Video Streaming

EXMORTUS Release Shred-tastic "Beetlejuice" Cover; Playthrough Video Streaming

As the October 25 release of their new Halloween/horror-themed EP, Legions Of The Undead, draws closer, Los Angeles-based death/thrash/shred quartet, Exmortus, has unveiled a play-through-style music video for their cover of Danny Elfman's “Beetlejuice” theme. The clip sees the group's members dress up as the title character of Tim Burton's iconic 1988 fantasy/horror/comedy film. Watch below.

“I've been meaning to cover this for a while now,” says guitarist/vocalist Jadran “Conan” Gonzalez. “As a kid, I loved the movie and the cartoon series that followed it. Danny Elfman's music really does lend itself to metal orchestration, so this was a breeze to learn and jam out. Hope you have as much fun watching it as we did recording it. It's showtime!"

“Beetlejuice” can now be streamed on Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp and other digital platforms. Along with the recently-released Evil Dead homage, “Swallow Your Soul”, the song is one of two “instant grat” downloads that are being offered with digital pre-orders of Legions Of The Undead. Physical copies, meanwhile, can be pre-ordered on CD and limited-edition green slime-colored vinyl, here.

NOTURNALL Release Music Video For "Scream! For!! Me!!!" Featuring MIKE PORTNOY

NOTURNALL Release Music Video For "Scream! For!! Me!!!" Featuring MIKE PORTNOY

Noturnall have just released their new music video, “Scream! For ! Me!!!”, with the more than special participation of drummer Mike Portnoy (ex-Dream Theater). The video was directed by vocalist Thiago Bianchi, as well as director Rodrigo Rossi, and features real scenes of a Hollywood-style tuned car rollover.

“This is for sure the best music video of my career and also a dream come true: playing with the drummer that made me a musician,” said Thiago Bianchi.

The music video for "Scream! For!! Me!!!" shows the new formation of Noturnall firsthand, featuring Thiago Bianchi (vocals), Mike Orlando (guitars), Henrique Pucci (drums) and Saulo Xakol (bass). The breakout video marks the duel of two exceptional drummers, Henrique Pucci and Mike Portnoy, in a surreal performance.

The rollover scenes were performed by seasoned Agnaldo Dublê, a professional on channels like Globo and RecordTV. It is also worth mentioning the story of the clip that tells a little about the difficulties of setting up a band in a humorous but very real way.

Photographer BILL O'LEARY Releases New Book, Timeless Concert Images; AC/DC, VAN HALEN, RUSH, SLAYER, QUEEN, OZZY, KISS, JUDAS PRIEST, SCORPIONS And Many More Featured

Photographer BILL O'LEARY Releases New Book, Timeless Concert Images; AC/DC, VAN HALEN, RUSH, SLAYER, QUEEN, OZZY, KISS, JUDAS PRIEST, SCORPIONS And Many More Featured

Timeless Concert Images (And 40 Years Of Rock Concert Experiences), by rock photographer Bill O'Leary, is available now.

During his career, photographer Bill O'Leary took pictures of some of rock's biggest names at the peak of their powers - Van Halen, Rush, Judas Priest, KISS, Ozzy Osbourne, Queen, Pink Floyd, Frank Zappa, etc. And now, he has opened his archives for the first time ever - assembling a collection of not only his best images, but also, offering stories and recollections behind concerts he shot over the years. Indeed, this book is comprised of over 175 full color, live concert images photographed primarily from the late 1970's through the 1990's.

Artists include AC/DC, Albert King, The Allman Brothers Band, Anthrax, Blues Traveler, Bob Seger, Cheap Trick, Def Leppard, Dixie Dregs, Foreigner, Frank Zappa, Grateful Dead, Hot Tuna, Jeff Beck, Jethro Tull, Joan Jett, Judas Priest, KISS, Marillion, Mercyful Fate, Michael Schenker Group, Molly Hatchet, Mötley Crüe, Motörhead, Outlaws, Overkill, Ozzy Osbourne, Pat Travers, Phish, Pink Floyd (The Wall), The Police, Queen, Rainbow, Reo Speedwagon, The Romantics, Rossington Collins Band, Rush, Scorpions, Slayer, Styx, Ted Nugent, Todd Rundgren's Utopia, Triumph, UFO, Van Halen, White Zombie, XTC, YES, Yngwie Malmsteen with Alcatrazz, and ZZ Top.

O'Leary says: "Hard to believe that I have been shooting concerts for 4 decades now, beginning in the mid 70's when I went to my first concert at the world famous Madison Square Garden in New York City. I felt at home among the walls of speakers and the towering lighting rigs, I also immediately knew that leaving the show with a ticket stub, program and maybe a t-shirt would not be enough, so I had to capture the memory permanently. Within' weeks I had traded my Sony home stereo system for a black leather jacket and my first Minolta SLR camera. After a brief learning period experimenting with the constantly changing lighting and vast array of colors, film speeds and the quick movements of the artists, I was told by many people that I was a "natural". I have always felt that "knowing" the music deeply and being passionate about it as well, really was the "secret" to capturing the "moment". With that confidence, I was soon shooting many concerts, 46 in 1980 alone. By then I was also being published in many major magazines as well. In the early days, I practiced "gorilla type tactics" to get my equipment into the venue's. Later, I was forced to play the game of securing credentials in order to shoot shows. All too soon, promoter and band management rules and demands on photographers began to take the excitement out of shooting shows. Then the " first 3 song" rule became common, NO more pictures after the third song. Pro concert photographers know that the "best" part of a shows production comes later in the event. In the end, I'm glad to have been a part of the glory days of concert photography."

Foreword by Freddie Salem of The Outlaws: "Bill O'Leary has played an extremely important part in the rock n' roll world, as the consummate live performance photographer for over 40 years. As a professional musician, rock photographers are a part of the music scene - whether it be shooting promotional shoots, live concerts, or simply capturing life on tour. Bill first photographed us back in 1979 - a couple years after I joined the Outlaws, at Madison Square Garden in New York City. We were touring in support of our latest album, In the Eye of the Storm. Madison Square Garden is a big show for any touring band - as well as me personally, as a musician. A landmark venue. The following year, 1980, Bill again photographed me onstage - twice. Once at a Pat Travers Band show at the Palladium in Lower Manhattan in April, then again later that fall in November, as the Outlaws were touring in support of our latest album, Ghost Riders. This time, we were playing a smaller venue in Passaic, New Jersey, called the Capitol Theatre. Hundreds upon hundreds of marquis performers from all over the world have been captured on film by Bill - with the help of his trusty camera. I am surely anticipating the release of Bill O'Leary's book, featuring his life's passion and his iconic photography work. Looking at the thousands of live photos Bill has shot over the years one thing is very clear - he knows when to "pull the trigger."

WRECK-DEFY Featuring Former ANNIHILATOR, TESTAMENT, DEMOLITION HAMMER Members Gearing Up To Release Third Album In 2020

WRECK-DEFY Featuring Former ANNIHILATOR, TESTAMENT, DEMOLITION HAMMER Members Gearing Up To Release Third Album In 2020

Wreck-Defy, featuring former members of Annihilator, Testament and Demolition Hammer have checked in with the following update:

"Although our sophomore album, Remnants Of Pain, has just recently been officially released via Inverse Records - barely a week ago - album number 3 is officially written and arranged. Pre-production will be starting very soon, and after the Christmas holiday season comes to an end it will be off to the races to bring you the next chapter in the Wreck-Defy saga.

The same line-up that brought you Remnants Of Pain will be back to bring you our most ferocious and pummeling album to date some time in 2020. Let the games begin.

Thanks to all our fans who have supported us this far. We hope to see you live next year!"

Finland's Inverse Records officially released Wreck-Defy's new album, Remnants Of Pain, on September 27th. They have posted a new lyric video for the previously released single, "Broken Peace", which can be viewed below.

"The new record has a street level sound that is a throwback to the burgeoning thrash metal movement from the mid 80's with a more modern day production value. To me thrash metal is about honesty, integrity and just an overall street level approach to things...lyrically its about many of the negative aspects in life such as war, addiction, tyranny, etc." says Matt Hanchuck.

Wreck-Defy began in 2016 when Matt Hanchuck got together with his friend Justin Steer who agreed to do the vocals on the debut record Fragments of Anger. They brought in Shawn Drover from Megadeth to play all the drums on the first album... combining that with the fact that his brother Glen... also ex-Megadeth alumni agreed to mix and master the album which gave it some notoriety so to speak... credibility if you will.

The current lineup of the band is Matt Hanchuck on guitar, Aaron Randall (ex-Annihilator) on vocals and Greg Christian (ex-Testament) on bass. For the album they used Dave O'Neal as a studio session drummer... but moving forward they've been able to recruit the amazing Alex Marquez from Demolition Hammer and Solstice for future tours and shows.

Tracklisting:

"Killing The Children"
"Broken Peace"
"Riverview"
"Looking Back"
"18oz Of Chrome"
"The Divide"
"Art Of Addiction"
"Angels And Demons"
"Blackend Cloth"

Watch STATIC-X Perform In Manchester

Watch STATIC-X Perform In Manchester

Fan-filmed video footage of STATIC-X's October 3 performance at O2 Ritz in Manchester, United Kingdom can be seen below.

As previously reported, STATIC-X will release a new album titled "Project Regeneration", featuring the last recordings of the band's late frontman Wayne Static, on May 29, 2020. The rest of the group's original lineup — bassist Tony Campos, drummer Ken Jay and guitarist Koichi Fukuda — will also be featured on the album and in the music videos, including the promotional clip for the single "Hollow", which was released yesterday. The teaser, which was directed by STATIC-X's touring vocalist Xer0 and co-directed by Matt Zane, also features a snippet of the band's hit song "Push It", re-recorded in 2019 with Xer0.

Last year, STATIC-X released a teaser featuring clips from a brand-new music video, as well as five new STATIC-X tracks — "Road To Hell", "Something Of My Own", "Terminator Oscillator", "Hollow" and "Disco Otsego" — along with a personal message from Campos about the inspiration behind "Project Regeneration".

While the identity of STATIC-X's touring singer has not been officially revealed, strong rumors suggest that DOPE frontman Edsel Dope is the one performing with Jay, Fukuda and Campos and appearing in all of STATIC-X's promotional videos.

Wayne Static died after mixing Xanax and other powerful prescription drugs with alcohol, according to the coroner's report. The 48-year-old Static, whose real name was Wayne Richard Wells, was found dead in his Landers, California home on November 1, 2014.

Static founded STATIC-X in 1994 and achieved commercial success with "Wisconsin Death Trip", which included the rock radio hit "Push It".

The group issued five more studio albums before disbanding permanently in June 2013. Static had been pursuing a solo career at the time of his death.
