IN MOURNING Preview Entire Garden Of Storms Album Ahead Of Official Release

IN MOURNING Preview Entire Garden Of Storms Album Ahead Of Official Release

Swedish melodic, progressive death/doom metal act, In Mourning, are offering a stream of their entire new album, Garden Of Storms, ahead of the official released tomorrow, Friday, October 4, via  Agonia Records. Listen below.

The band commented on the new album: "We made a new album! It's called Garden of Storms and it is the final piece in a trilogy which started with The Weight Of Oceans. We've headed back... and forward, at the same time. We're back recording with Jonas Kjellgren who made the sound of our earlier albums, yet we have a lot of things that are new with this album. The band constellation is new with Sebastian and Jocke, we've worked in ways we've never done before, new vibes and new songs even if we planted the seeds to some of them a long time ago. In times where things kind of seem to scatter and change a lot around us, this still feels like our most solid, honest and complete album to date."

Hailed by many as the heir to Opeth's melodeath throne, In Mourning was formed in the Swedish woods in the year 2000. Since then, the band has evolved, striving to refine its sound to what it is today. Musically, the group blends a broad spectrum of influences into a foundation of melodic death metal. Thrusting from doomy metal-riffs, blasting drumbeats and deep growling vocals, to calm breezes of clean flowing melodies and harmonies.

In Mourning's last album, Afterglow, was released to critical acclaim in 2016. In 2018, the band's lineup went through a change; drummer Daniel Liljekvist (ex-Katatonia) was replaced by Joakim Strandberg Nilsson (Faithful Darkness, Nonexist) and bassist Sebastian Svalland (Letters From The Colony) filled in for Pierre Stam (ex-October Tide). Together with founding member, guitarist and vocalist Tobias Netzell, as well as guitarists Björn Pettersson and Tim Nedergård, they recorded Garden Of Storms between March and May 2019 at two different, Swedish studios - Black Lounge (drums & bass) and Beckasinen (guitars, vocals and keyboards). Jonas Kjellgren took care of mixing and mastering.

Listen To New LACUNA COIL Song 'Save Me'

Listen To New LACUNA COIL Song 'Save Me'

"Save Me", a brand new song from Italian alternative metallers LACUNA COIL, can be streamed below. The track is taken from the band's forthcoming album, "Black Anima", which will be released on October 11.

Singer Cristina Scabbia told HardDrive Radio about "Black Anima": "It might sound really cliché if we say that it's gonna be heavier and darker, but this is actually the truth. Because I don't think that LACUNA COIL has ever been so heavy. And it will be surprising a lot of people, because we experimented a lot of things differently — vocally and musically.

"It will be revolving around a book and some other stuff that we can't talk about. And 'Black Anima' is basically translated as 'black soul,' 'cause 'anima' is an Italian word that we decided to use as the title."

Added co-vocalist Andrea Ferro: "There's quite a variety of songs, so there's heaviness, but there's also some more melodic tracks that can be more catchy. But it's a very complex record with a lot of different flavors. And we experiment a lot on the lyrics about our lives growing up, experiencing loss or other things that you get more of in the mature age. So we felt the connection with these people that [are] not with us anymore, so we decided to talk about this connection that we feel beyond life."

Continued Cristina: "It's a strange combination of sounds that is really difficult to describe. I guess you guys will have to listen to it, 'cause it's hard to describe."

Asked if the diversity of the new LACUNA COIL music will lend itself to a dynamic stage show, Cristina said: "Absolutely, because we're touching different themes. And also the styles of the songs — despite being heavy and sometimes even melodic, they're very diverse, one from each other, so that will give us the opportunity to do a lot of different stuff on stage. We have a lot of ideas for the shows that we will play after the release."

Added Andrea: "We've also been working with some artists for some of the visual of the booklets that we can reproduce on the live show for the backdrop and all the special stuff on stage. So we have a lot of ideas."

"Black Anima" track listing:

01. Anima Nera

02. Sword Of Anger

03. Reckless

04. Layers Of Time

05. Apocalypse

06. Now Or Never

07. Under The Surface

08. Veneficium

09. The End Is All I Can See

10. Save Me

11. Black Anima

12. Black Feathers (deluxe edition only)

13. Through The Flames (deluxe edition only)

14. Black Dried Up Heart (deluxe edition only)

LACUNA COIL and ALL THAT REMAINS have joined forces for the "Disease Of The Anima" North American co-headlining tour. The trek includes special guests BAD OMENS, TOOTHGRINDER (September 15 - October 10), EXIMIOUS (October 11 - October 19) and UNCURED.

Listen To New CATTLE DECAPITATION Song 'Bring Back The Plague'

Listen To New CATTLE DECAPITATION Song 'Bring Back The Plague'

"Bring Back The Plague", a brand new song from San Diego-based deathgrind masters CATTLE DECAPITATION, can be streamed below. The track is taken from the band's upcoming album, titled "Death Atlas", which will be released on November 29 via Metal Blade Records. The disc was once again recorded at Denver's Flatline Audio with producer Dave Otero.

The members of CATTLE DECAPITATION have never shied away from confronting the awfulness wrought upon the natural world by the human race, and "Death Atlas" is their bleakest offering to date. The cover art says it all: a stooped, skeletal Grim Reaper carrying the burnt-out husk of our planet on his back.

"The core concept of this record is humanity's insignificance despite what we've convinced ourselves," explains vocalist Travis Ryan. "That's kind of why this album cover takes place in space, to remind you that 'the universe always finds a way to purge'. In the grand scheme of things, our species is merely a fleeting thought."

This imagery is backed up with a ferocious soundtrack, which includes elements of death metal, grindcore, black metal, sludge, doom, drone — with Ryan's vocals broader and more fully realized than ever before.

Produced once again by Dave Otero, "Death Atlas" also features a number of guests: Laure Le Prunenec (IGORRR, RICINN), Riccardo Conforti (VOID OF SILENCE), Dis Pater (MIDNIGHT ODYSSEY), Jon Fishman (PHISH) — plus, brass instrumentalists from Ottone Pesante. The end result of these experimentations and collaborations is one of the most devastating records of 2019, and it demands an emotional response.

As the band prepares to tour and hopefully reach places they have yet play, what Ryan wants listeners to take away from "Death Atlas" is clear. "I want people to be shocked into thinking more about their futures, their loved ones, the pain they're potentially subjecting their future generations to," he says. "Everyone just seems to live in the now with no care for tomorrow, and that's incorrect thinking, as far as today goes. Don't make tomorrow a canceled check."

"Death Atlas" track listing:

01. Anthropogenic: End Transmission

02. The Geocide

03. Be Still Our Bleeding Hearts

04. Vulturous

05. The Great Dying

06. One Day Closer To The End Of The World

07. Bring Back The Plague

08. Absolute Destitute

09. The Great Dying II

10. Finish Them

11. With All Disrespect

12. Time's Cruel Curtain

13. The Unerasable Past

14. Death Atlas

Listen To New ALTER BRIDGE Song 'Dying Light'

Listen To New ALTER BRIDGE Song 'Dying Light'

ALTER BRIDGE has unveiled another track from its upcoming album, "Walk The Sky". "Dying Light" is now available on all digital service providers around the globe and a captivating visualizer by collaborator Dan Sturgess can be seen below.

"Walk The Sky" will be released on October 18 via Napalm Records. According to a press release, the 14-track follow-up to 2016's "The Last Hero" is a "complete career retrospective drawing upon elements from each of the band's previous releases to create something new."

Guitarist Mark Tremonti told Kerrang! magazine about "Walk The Sky": "It's kinda like a [revered horror maestro] John Carpenter movie — this old-school synth-wave kind of vibe. Somebody might hear the record and have no idea that was intended, but for a batch of songs, I tapped into some old loops that I either created or found randomly online, and worked with them in the background to inspire me to go in a different direction. I loved working like that. We challenge ourselves to not repeat ourselves and find new inspiration to add a different layer to what we do. It's particularly challenging when you've had so many records, but when I showed Myles [Kennedy, vocals/guitar] what I was thinking, he absolutely loved it and was on board right away."

As for how "Walk The Sky" compares to the rest of ALTER BRIDGE's discography, Mark said: "It's hard to completely get away from who we are — the same four guys in the band — but everyone who's heard the record says it has its own personality and doesn't sound like any particular ALTER BRIDGE record. But that being said, it's familiar ALTER BRIDGE territory, and Myles has said it's kind of the answer to 'AB III'. That was a very brooding and dark lyrical record, whereas this one is the yang to the yin of that. 'AB III' was kind of about a loss of faith and not believing. Myles was having a dark moment in that time and he wrote the majority of the lyrics. This is more of an enlightening, Zen kind of record. It's not a preachy record by any means; it's more of a free-spirited kind of thing."

ALTER BRIDGE recently launched a co-headining tour with SKILLET. The "Victorious Sky" trek kicked off on September 22 in Baltimore and will run through October 25 in Orlando. DIRTY HONEY also appears.

LARS ULRICH Is 'Thinking About' His 'Brother' JAMES HETFIELD

LARS ULRICH Is 'Thinking About' His 'Brother' JAMES HETFIELD

Lars Ulrich says that he is "thinking about" his "brother" James Hetfield, just days after the METALLICA frontman revealed he was returning to a rehab program.

Last Friday, METALLICA's tour of Australia and New Zealand was called off so that Hetfield could enter rehab to battle his addictions. The trek was slated to kick off on October 17 in Perth and was to include over 10 dates, with SLIPKNOT in the support slot.

Over the weekend, Ulrich took to his Instagram to share a photo of him with Hetfield, along with the following caption: "Thinking about my brother. ....sending love."

The 56-year-old Hetfield has been open about his addiction and alcoholism. His struggles were detailed in the 2004 documentary "Some Kind Of Monster".

A couple of years ago, Hetfield said "fear was a big motivator" in inspiring him to get clean. At that time, he said he was sober for 15 years.

In a 2016 interview with Australia's Rolling Stone magazine, Hetfield talked about the interpersonal relationships between the METALLICA bandmembers which reached an all-time low in 2001 during the making of the "St. Anger" album. He described the dynamic between him and Ulrich as: "Lars is, 'I have to do everything, or else it's wrong.' He's got the weight of so much on him. And [METALLICA's song] 'Atlas, Rise!' started out as a, 'Here, let me help you with that. You don't need to carry all that, brother.' And then it morphed into more — and this is not specifically him, but I'm plugging him into this — I think he likes that. There's a drama that makes him work, and we all have a bit of that. He wants the control but he doesn't really have control. The illusion of control, and then the ability to complain about how you have to do everything yourself, and then you still do it."

Hetfield continued: "There's some 'Psych 101'. But relationships, my God, every day I learn something, and relationships are teaching me about what's important. I went through a lot of stuff in 2001 [as captured in the 'Some Kind Of Monster' documentary], that was kind of my freak-out period, realizing my life is not working how it is now. And it took a huge bottom to realize that. And I think everyone in the band has hit their bottom in a certain way, a different way, over the past 10 years. There's been some realizations. It's just the age — between 45 and 55. Fifties. That's a number where you think, what the fuck am I doing? [Life's] more than half over! But the relationship with Lars, we've been friends for a long time, it's lasted longer than all the marriages in the band. God, we hate each other, and we love each other, and it morphs, it changes, but at the end of the day we realize, this works. And we're a good team, man. Trusting him: 'Yeah, I've got 800 riffs, and here they are. You edit them, you pick out the good stuff.'"

Listen To THE WHO's New Single 'All This Music Must Fade'

Listen To THE WHO's New Single 'All This Music Must Fade'

Legendary rockers THE WHO have released a new single, "All This Music Must Fade". The song, which is available on Spotify, is taken from the band's first new album in 13 years, titled "Who", due for release on December 6.

Guitarist Pete Townshend describes "All This Music Must Fade" as "a song dedicated to every artist who has ever been accused of ripping off someone else's song. Seriously? Our musical palette is limited enough in the 21st century without some dork claiming to have invented a common chord scheme."

THE WHO has one of the greatest rock legacies in music history — they're one of the all-time great live bands, have sold over 100 million records worldwide and scored nine U.S. and 10 U.K. top ten albums and 14 U.K. top 10 singles in a career spanning six decades.

The songs on "Who" cover a myriad of subjects, including the Grenfell Tower fire, musical theft, spirituality, reincarnation, the power of memory and "an old rock star that has lost his marbles." Singer Roger Daltrey rates it amongst their strongest.

"I think we've made our best album since 'Quadrophenia' in 1973," he said. "Pete hasn't lost it — he's still a fabulous songwriter, and he's still got that cutting edge."

Added Townshend: "This album is almost all new songs written last year, with just two exceptions. There is no theme, no concept, no story, just a set of songs that I (and my brother Simon) wrote to give Roger Daltrey some inspiration, challenges and scope for his newly revived singing voice.

"Roger and I are both old men now, by any measure, so I've tried to stay away from romance, but also from nostalgia, if I can. I didn't want to make anyone feel uncomfortable. Memories are okay, and some of the songs refer to the explosive state of things today.

"I made new home studio demos of all these songs in the summer of 2018 using a wide collection of instruments old and new. We started recording as THE WHO in March 2019, and have finished now in late August just in time to make some vinyl — maybe even some cassettes — ready for release in November."

Two songs on the record — the epic "Ball And Chain" and string-laden "Hero Ground Zero" — recently got their world premiere when the band played with a 40-piece orchestra to a packed Wembley Stadium. Spring 2020 will see the band embarking on a U.K. tour featuring an orchestra.

"Who" track listing:

01. All This Music Must Fade

02. Ball And Chain

03. I Don't Wanna Get Wise

04. Detour

05. Beads On One String

06. Hero Ground Zero

07. Street Song

ALICE IN CHAINS' WILLIAM DUVALL Releases New Solo Song 'White Hot'

ALICE IN CHAINS' WILLIAM DUVALL Releases New Solo Song 'White Hot'

"White Hot", a new solo song from ALICE IN CHAINS vocalist/guitarist William DuVall, can be streamed below. The track is taken from DuVall's debut solo album, "One Alone", which will be released on October 4 via DVL Recordings.

Asked by Antihero magazine if he still has hopes, dreams and ambitions, DuVall said: "Oh yeah. I've not even hardly gotten started. Yeah, I totally feel like I haven't done anything. At the same time, yes, I'm proud of it, I'm proud of that. It just feels like, 'Oh, I've barely scratched the surface.'

"And that's why it's so important to get this record out and keep it moving," he continued. "And it's one of the reasons why I wanted this album, 'One Alone', to be so reductive, you know, it's just those one voice, one guitar, because… All right, we view it as a reaction to all the rock records I've made over the last, even just the last 20 years. Forget the hardcore punk stuff, even this last 20 years, the sort of rock-based records I've made, you know… It was time for something different. And this was about as different as I could get whilst still being totally sort of self-reliant. It's like, okay, let's just pare it down to just one voice, one guitar. And then at the same time, it's sort of like, this is a great starting point for what I hope will be more records under my own name, that can then incorporate more of the kind of sounds that I'm perhaps better known for. You know, getting back to electric music, getting back to rock and roll, getting back to those… You know, the dynamic version of electric rock and roll that I really like. But this is a great starting point for anything that might come in the future."

According to DuVall, "One Alone" sees him opening up a lot more emotionally and sharing stuff that he hadn't shared before through song. "It's almost like you could view it as like an emotional and a musical cleansing by fire, you know?" he said. "It's sort of like when you've got to burn the earth so that the soil can renew itself, kind of thing. It's like it has a little bit of that feeling of like, yeah, we want to get really raw. And that way, it's sort of like all bets are off now. It's like, 'Okay, this guy can… He's liable to come at us with anything,' you know? And we always will have this record, this 'One Alone' album, as sort of a touchpoint, you know, a sort of a base to go back to and say, like, 'Okay, yeah, well if you want the most sort of purest distillation of who this person is, go back to this record.' And there it is… This is a very, kind of, a bold way of introducing myself in to… Or maybe reintroducing myself to the folks that know ALICE, and I would hope it might be a doorway into my history as well, so they can go back and look at the COMES WITH THE FALL records and all the stuff before, and say, 'Oh wow, okay,' you know? Because people are discovering that stuff all the time anyway. But this just sort of puts the spotlight on like, 'Oh, he's got something new coming out'… It naturally leads to discussions about my history and hopefully, it will be a nice way for people to walk in and check that out."

Prior to joining ALICE IN CHAINS in 2006, DuVall was a member of punk rock bands AWARENESS VOID OF CHAOS, NEON CHRIST, BL'AST! and FINAL OFFERING. DuVall's long musical history also includes COMES WITH THE FALL and ALICE IN CHAINS guitarist Jerry Cantrell's solo work.

Cantrell befriended the members of COMES WITH THE FALL in the early 2000s, playing shows with the band on the West Coast, then enlisting the musicians to tour with him as both opening act and backing group in support of his album "Degradation Trip".

DuVall appears on the last three ALICE IN CHAINS albums: 2009's "Black Gives Way To Blue", 2013's "The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here" and 2018's "Rainier Fog".

Watch DEEP PURPLE Perform In Washington, D.C.

Watch DEEP PURPLE Perform In Washington, D.C.

Fan-filmed video footage of DEEP PURPLE's October 2 concert at Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C. can be seen below.

The 2019 U.S. leg of DEEP PURPLE's "The Long Goodbye" tour marks the band's first American dates since the band completed its co-headlining run with JUDAS PRIEST last year.

"The Long Goodbye" tour started in May 2017 in Europe and included a North American leg with ALICE COOPER and EDGAR WINTER as well as the aforementioned run with PRIEST.

Two years ago, DEEP PURPLE bassist Roger Glover was asked by Billboard if "The Long Goodbye" tour title was trying to tell fans something. He responded: "Well, we're letting you make your own minds up. No one wants to stop. But we're all about late 60s, early 70s, and bodies have a way of not keeping up with your brain or your career. We're all sort of approaching that point where I can't imagine another eight years to do an album."

Glover continued: "The time is approaching when it will end, but we don't want to face that. We don't actually want to make a date or a final tour or anything. We just want to carry on as long as nature allows or is kind of dignified. If we can't do what we do anymore, then yes, it's time to stop. But we're still doing it, and we're still enjoying it very much. So all we're saying is the door is closing, but it's not closed yet."

DEEP PURPLE's latest album, "InFinite", came out in April 2017 via earMUSIC. The disc was tracked in February 2016 at a studio in Nashville, Tennessee and was once again helmed by Bob Ezrin, who has previously worked with KISS, PINK FLOYD, PETER GABRIEL, ALICE COOPER and KANSAS, among others.

DEEP PURPLE — which has been eligible for induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame for two decades now — finally entered the Rock Hall as part of the class of 2016. The band's first three lineups were inducted, including drummer Ian Paice, guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, late keyboardist Jon Lord, and various singers and bassists — Rod Evans; Ian Gillan and Roger Glover; and David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes.

THE WILDHEARTS: 'Diagnosis' Lyric Video

THE WILDHEARTS: 'Diagnosis' Lyric Video

The official lyric video for "Diagnosis", the title track of the new mini-album from THE WILDHEARTS, can be seen below. Due on October 4 through Graphite Records, this six-track effort features five brand new songs and is released as a limited-edition special white vinyl with pale blue powder splatter 10-inch (to look like a pill) and as a regular black vinyl 10-inch and CD. All three physical formats will also include an exclusive bespoke inner gatefold comic strip illustrated by the award-winning Hunt Emerson, who last worked with the band on the "Earth Vs" cover and their classic logo.

"Diagnosis" follows the success of "Renaissance Men", THE WILDHEARTS' first full-length studio album in 10 years, which gave the band's classic lineup of Ginger, CJ, Ritchie and Danny their highest chart entry since 1994's "P.H.U.Q.", when it debuted at No. 11.

Says C.J Wildheart: "Well, fuck me, we dropped our first new album in 10 years back in May and blow me down if we didn't drop a humdinger of an album full of monster riffs and razor-sweet melodies. Well, we've not only gone back in to the studio to record five new songs that will be released as the 'Diagnosis' mini-album in October, we're hitting the road too. We have some great supports confirmed already, THE PROFESSIONALS and JANUS STARK, and I know there are some other amazing bands to be added to the rest of the tour.

"You're going to love the new mini album and the surprises we have on there and the tour is going to be one you should not miss. You can't keep a good band down."

Added Ginger Wildheart: "The lead track 'Diagnosis' is about mental health institutions and the medical health profession in this country, and about how it's letting people down. How the system is broken, and how the suicide rate is not getting any less.

"Depression and mental illness isn't an issue that attacks any one type of person. Whether you're homeless or if you're rich, this illness is taking people out on a regular basis. The government has pulled most of the funding into mental health research, and as a result people are still ignorant about it.

"Education is everything. And the more people talk about depression, the more need there'll be for education, and the more people will want educating about an issue that doesn't just affect the people suffering from it, but it affects everyone around them. And when someone is in a desperate position and their hope is taken away, then they're at the mercy of an illness that wants them dead. There's nothing more important in the world than education on mental health issues."

"Diagnosis" track listing:

01. Diagnosis

02. God Damn

03. A Song About Drinking

04. The First Time

05. That's My Girl

Watch DRAGONFORCE Perform Cover Of CELINE DION's 'My Heart Will Go On' In Tucson

Watch DRAGONFORCE Perform Cover Of CELINE DION's 'My Heart Will Go On' In Tucson

Fan-filmed video footage of DRAGONFORCE performing a full-speed cover version of Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" on October 1 in Tucson, Arizona can be seen below. The studio version of the song appears on DRAGONFORCE's eighth full-length album, "Extreme Power Metal", which was released on September 27. The CD was produced in Los Angeles, California by Damien Rainaud at Mix Unlimited and was also recorded, in part, on guitarist Herman Li's livestream channel on Twitch with participation from the fans.

Li told Dead Press! about DRAGONFORCE's decision to record "My Heart Will Go On", which was the theme to the most romantic scene in the movie "Titanic": "It was about making an epic song on every DRAGONFORCE album, and it fits in well with the whole theme of the album and the fun artwork and just having fun with it. It's really catchy and people like it."

Regarding "Extreme Power Metal", Li said: "This album again combines the best of DRAGONFORCE in an even bigger, more epic way than we have ever done before. We are so excited for fans to hear it." Following the departure of Vadim Pruzhanov from the band last year, the keyboards of this new album were performed by Coen Janssen of symphonic metal titan EPICA, bringing a new dimension into a DRAGONFORCE album. Guitarist Sam Totman says: "We worked really closely with Coen on this new album. We are so happy with what he has brought into this new album. Every fan will be so happy to hear his majestic playing."

G.T. - Activist GRETA THUNBERG's Speech Gets Death Metal Treatment In Benefit Of Greenpeace; "How Dare You" HQ Audio Stream Available

G.T. - Activist GRETA THUNBERG's Speech Gets Death Metal Treatment In Benefit Of Greenpeace; "How Dare You" HQ Audio Stream Available

A week ago, Greta Thunberg (the teenaged leader of the climate revolution, she needs no further presentation) gave a speech to the world leaders at the opening of the UN Climate Summit in New York. The speech, where she relentlessly scolded the world's most powerful people for their lack of action facing the climate crisis, quickly became a classic and, along with Martin Luther King's epoch-making speech, "I have a dream", is placed among the most influential and important speeches in the history of modern humanity.

Shortly thereafter, a music video was released where the death metal phenomenon G.T, also known as John Mollusk, the drummer of New York thrash metal band Suaka, converted the speech into a death metal song where he himself growls along with Greta. The clip went viral and has already been viewed over 4 million times (watch below).

All the record company's profits from the release will go straight to the environmental rights activist group Greenpeace. With the single release, Despotz Records launches a campaign under the hashtag #GREENMETAL where they urge the metal fans worldwide to mobilize and take part in the environmental movement together and to create history making the death metal song, "How Dare You", enter the Billboard Top 10 charts.

"When I saw her speech, I was very impressed by her passion and outrage, and the words she chose just evoked the darkness of the metal music I love: Entombed, Gojira, At the Gates, Sepultura," said Molusk (G.T) to Rolling Stone magazine about making the song. He hopes people don't think he's trying to make fun of her with the video and that he agrees with her message. "My personal stance is that individuals need to do their part to strive to conserve and preserve our environment," says G.T.

Greta herself approved the metal makeover of her speech by tweeting, "I have moved on from this climate thing… From now on I will be doing death metal only!!"

One action does not need to exclude the other, because now the track "How Dare You" is released as a single in collaboration with the Swedish independent hard rock label Despotz Records.

”Greta says it better than neither we on this label nor any other adult so far has been able to say it, so one of the best things we can do is to use our platform for spreading her own words. We stand united with her in her quest and are grateful for a chance to contribute in any way!,” says Despotz Records, and adds, "To be fair, Greta embodies rock music in its full meaning. She is uncompromising, tough as hell and doesn't give a shit about what people think of her. She is not afraid to tell you about the scariest things imaginable without beautifying it a bit, and that is what metal is about."

Get the track via Spotify, Apple Music, and Bandcamp. Listen below:

METALLICA Perform “Creeping Death” In Paris; Video Streaming

METALLICA Perform “Creeping Death” In Paris; Video Streaming

Metallica has uploaded a pro-shot video performing the classic Ride The Lightning track, “Creeping Death”, live at Stade de France in Paris, France on May 12.

Black Sabbath legend Tony Iommi recently posted a message on social media pages offering encouragement to Metallica’s James Hetfield, who recently announced he was entering rehab.

Iommi states, “My best out to James Hetfield. You’ve done the right thing seeking help - I’m thinking of you my friend and wishing you all the very best on your recovery. Looking forward to seeing you back at your best very soon. Your pal, Tony.”

Following last week's news that Metallica frontman James Hetfield has entered rehab, forcing the cancellation of upcoming tour dates in Australia and New Zealand, the band's former bassist Ron McGovney posted a message via Twitter in support of Hetfield:

James Hetfield has been a friend of mine long before @Metallica. I always looked up to him as a musician even when we were in high school. If he needs anything , he has my number. I have been sober for 2 years. It's not easy. I'm with you big guy. pic.twitter.com/W4zmup8iTH
— Ron McGovney (@RonMcGovney) 28. September 2019

McGovney appears on Metallica's early demos (circa 1982). It has been reported that tensions with then-guitarist Dave Mustaine influenced his decision to leave the band.

A band statement regarding the tour cancellation reads as follows:

“We are truly sorry to inform our fans and friends that we must postpone our upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand.

As most of you probably know, our brother James has been struggling with addiction on and off for many years. He has now, unfortunately, had to re-enter a treatment program to work on his recovery again.

We fully intend to make our way to your part of the world as soon as health and schedule permit. We’ll let you know as soon as we can. Once again, we are devastated that we have inconvenienced so many of you, especially our most loyal fans who often travel great distances to experience our shows. We appreciate your understanding and support for James and, as always, thank you for being a part of our Metallica family.

All tickets purchased to the shows in Australia and New Zealand, including Enhanced Experiences and Black Tickets, will be fully refunded. More details on how to obtain your refund are here.”

MISERY LOVES CO. To Release 'Zero' Album In November

MISERY LOVES CO. To Release 'Zero' Album In November

Swedish industrial metal pioneers MISERY LOVES CO. will release their new album, "Zero", on November 29 via Black Lodge Records. It is the band's first full-length since the critically acclaimed "Your Vision Was Never Mine To Share" arrived 19 years ago.

It's been a long wait for many fans but true art can never be forced. Upon listening to "Zero", everybody will see it was worth the wait. Musically, it's a broad range of songs but with that characteristic sound MISERY LOVES CO. has always been known for. You'll find pieces of all of rock and metal history on "Zero"; from goth to alternative rock, from ambient soundscapes to death metal. As always, it's very industrial, sometimes really heavy but always catchy.

"Zero" track listing:

01. Suburban Breakdown

02. A Little Something

03. Dead Streets

04. Only Happy When It Rains

05. Fell In Love

06. The Waiting Room

07. Would You?

08. Zero

09. One of Those Days

10. Way Back Home

You can now preview "Zero" below.

MISERY LOVES CO. released its self-titled debut in 1995 (a year earlier in Scandinavia) and soon became one of Europe's most talked-about up-and-coming metal bands. With songs like "My Mind Still Speaks" and "Kiss Your Boots", they managed to mix aggressiveness with melody and innovativeness with an impressive songwriting. Both audience and critics took the band to their hearts, and perhaps Metal Hammer said it best: "If someone were to prescribe a formula for how metal should sound in 1995, it could be described in three words — MISERY LOVES CO."

Tours and shows in both Europe and the U.S. followed with such acts as SLAYER, MACHINE HEAD, DEFTONES and PARADISE LOST. MISERY LOVES CO.'s second release, "Not Like Them", earned the band a Grammis (Swedish Grammy equivalent) in the "Best Hard Rock/Metal" category in 1998. This time Patrik's lyrics were even more personal, which is why he, to this day, gets response from people telling him how songs like "Prove Me Wrong" helped them get through bad times.

The year 2000 saw the band release its last album, "Your Vision Was Never Mine To Share", which was a huge step for the band musically. The dynamics of songs like the title track and "On Top of The World" were more impressive than ever and the band progressed in a very exciting artistic direction. Still, just a few months later, the band split up and the world became an inferior place.

Until 2016, when MISERY LOVES CO. returned to the live stage at Gefle Metal Festival (Sweden), Bloodstock (U.K.) and Brutal Assault (Czech Republic) and has since then done club shows in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Uppsala. In 2017 they also boarded the world's biggest metal cruise, 70000 Tons Of Metal.

ACE FREHLEY Plays Free Concert At Car Dealership In New Jersey (Video)

ACE FREHLEY Plays Free Concert At Car Dealership In New Jersey (Video)

Original KISS guitarist Ace Frehley played a free show on September 27 at the Nielsen Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep-Ram car dealership in East Hanover, New Jersey. Fan-filmed video footage of the concert can be seen below.

Last fall, Frehley parted ways with the solo band that backed him on some of his most recent tours — Richie Scarlet on guitar, Chris Wyse on bass and Scot Coogan on drums/vocals — and replaced them with the musicians that played with KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons on his solo dates: Philip Shouse on bass, Ryan Cook on guitar/vocals and Jeremy Asbrock on guitar/vocals. Rounding out Ace's current band is drummer Matt Starr (MR. BIG).

Asbrock and Shouse are the founders of THEE ROCK N' ROLL RESIDENCY, a popular Nashville tribute band that routinely hosts surprise appearances by such rocks stars as Alice Cooper, Robin Zander (CHEAP TRICK) and Roger Glover (DEEP PURPLE).

Frehley first left KISS in 1982. He rejoined in 1996 and parted ways with the band once again in 2002 after the conclusion of their first "farewell tour." Since his departure, guitarist Tommy Thayer has assumed the role of the Spaceman.

Frehley's latest album, "Spaceman", was released in October 2018 via eOne. Gene co-wrote two tracks on the disc, "Without You I'm Nothing" and "Your Wish Is My Command", the latter of which also features Simmons's bass playing.

Frehley recently completed work on "Origins Vol. 2", the sequel to his 2016 collection of cover songs that inspired the former KISS guitarist. The LP, which is tentatively due in early 2020, will feature guest appearances by Lita Ford (singing "Jumping Jack Flash") and CHEAP TRICK's Robin Zander (singing HUMBLE PIE's "30 Days In The Hole").

GENE SIMMONS: First Post-Surgery Photo Available

GENE SIMMONS: First Post-Surgery Photo Available

Gene Simmons's wife has confirmed that he underwent a successful kidney stones surgery earlier this week.

The KISS bassist/vocalist was admitted into Cedars-Sinai Hospital early Tuesday morning to undergo a medical procedure that should help get rid of the stones. According to TMZ, the non-invasive operation only took about an hour to complete and involved inserting a stent in his urethra to help him pass his stones. The stent is expected to be removed in a week.

Later in the day, Shannon Lee Tweed Simmons tweeted an update on her husband's condition, writing: "Well, now that the cats out of the bag, this is Gene's second of three procedures that will remove these large kidney stones so he can move on with Rockin' & Rollin' and, by the way, Happy Anniversary to my wonderful husband @GeneSimmons."

Shannon also shared an Instagram photo of Gene in a wheelchair, apparently waiting to leave the hospital after the procedure.

Last month, KISS postponed its concert in Salt Lake City. At the time, Simmons tweeted that he had to fly to Los Angeles "to do a medical procedure." He added: "Nothing serious. But it must be taken care of now."

Earlier last month, KISS postponed its shows in Oakland and Los Angeles. The date at Oakland Arena, originally set for September 16, is now listed on the venue web site as March 6. The date at Staples Center in Los Angeles, originally set for September 20, now takes place March 4.

The only reason given for moving the Oakland and Los Angeles performances was "unforeseen scheduling issues."

KISS's current lineup consists of original members Simmons and Paul Stanley, alongside later band additions, guitarist Tommy Thayer (since 2002) and drummer Eric Singer (on and off since 1991).

Formed in 1973 by Stanley, Simmons, drummer Peter Criss and lead guitarist Ace Frehley, KISS staged its first "farewell" tour in 2000, the last to feature the group's original lineup.

The End Of The Road" farewell tour launched in January and is expected to run through at least the end of 2020.

Well, now that the cats out of the bag, this is Gene’s second of three procedures that will remove these large kidney stones so he can move on with Rockin’ & Rollin‘ and, by the way Happy Anniversary to my wonderful… https://t.co/agWIh66EnD

IRON KINGDOM – On The Hunt Streaming In Full Ahead Of Release

IRON KINGDOM – On The Hunt Streaming In Full Ahead Of Release

Inspired by legendary pillars of heavy metal such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, The Scorpions, and Rush, Iron Kingdom is well known for their energetic and electrifying stage presence, as well as intricate musical melodies that bring listeners back to a time when the genre was in its prime.

Now they are back with a new album On The Hunt due out on October 4, 2019 and before it's officially out, the Vancouver heavy metallers are streaming the album in full.

The band adds, “We’re believing fans can expect the new record to be a lot more traditional in style, more accessible with a lot more rocker tunes, lots of catchy melodies and speed metal riffs, shorter songs, more packed with action, as opposed to the previous album with long epic passages. We wanted this record to include lots of great live tunes we can carry in our set for years to come!”

The nine new tracks are fun tunes that translate well into a live setting, which is paramount for Iron Kingdom who take great pride in their live show. Fans of the classic including Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Queensryche, and Helloween will revel in Iron Kingdom who put a modern spin on traditional heavy metal.

On The Hunt is due out October 4, and available for pre-order via the band's online store here. Album artwork by Alan Lathwell.

WARSENAL - Canadian Speed Metal Trio Release "Forever Lost" Music Video; Feast Your Eyes Album Details Revealed

WARSENAL - Canadian Speed Metal Trio Release "Forever Lost" Music Video; Feast Your Eyes Album Details Revealed

Montreal, Canada-based speed metal trio, Warsenal, recently joined forces with Svart Records for the release of their new album, Feast Your Eyes, out on November 8. A video for the album opener, "Forever Lost", can be found below.

The follow-up to 2015's debut. Barn Burner. boasts the band's most forward-thinking assortment of speed / thrash metal hymns to date and is sure to snap the necks of younger fans, alongside worshippers of the old school à la Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax.

Comments Warsenal guitarist/vocalist Mathieu Rondeau, "We're really excited to be signing with Finnish label Svart Records. They have a great international visibility and are very well respected among musicians and fans alike. This makes us very honored to be taking over the world of metal under their flag. I think that with Feast Your Eyes, we've really grasped what is the 'Warsenal sound' and how we want to go from there. It's still raw and filled to the brim with crazy riffs flying everywhere, but the production quality and the song structures have really taken on major improvement; call it maturity I guess. The songs are all very different and unique, while keeping the Warsenal energy and the madness people dug on the first album. A lot of surprises and jaw-dropping is to be expected. It's definitely not your typical, generic thrash or speed metal album."

For physical orders in North America, head here, and for Europe here. Digital orders will be available in the coming weeks.

Tracklisting:

"Forever Lost"
"I Am The Blade"
"Lords Of Rifftown"

"Crystal Ship"

IN MOURNING Post Video Documentary Detailing The Making Of Garden Of Storms

IN MOURNING Post Video Documentary Detailing The Making Of Garden Of Storms

In Mourning from Sweden, a melodic, progressive death/doom metal act, have posted a 50-minute long video documentary about the making of the band's new studio album, Garden Of Storms. The album will be released on October 4th via Agonia Records. Watch the full documentary, divided into eleven chapters and featuring in-depth interviews with IN Mourning members:

Garden Of Storms features seven new tracks replete with artwork from Kristian Wåhlin (Bathory, At The Gates, King Diamond).
