Watch DAVID LEE ROTH Perform With His Las Vegas Band For First Time

Watch DAVID LEE ROTH Perform With His Las Vegas Band For First Time

David Lee Roth performed with his new band pubicly for the first time on Thursday (September 26) as he prepares for his upcoming Las Vegas residency.

One of the attendees shared video of the invite-only show at SIR rehearsal studios in Los Angeles, featuring Roth and his backing musicians running through snippets of "Atomic Punk", "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love", "Dance The Night Away", "Runnin' With The Devil" and "Panama".

Roth's residency at the House Of Blues at Las Vegas's Mandalay Bay kicks off on January 8. He recently told the Atlanta radio station Rock 100.5 that he "started getting ready" for the Sin City run last October. He described the show's format as: "I am Las Vegas. I include hard rock. I include classic rock. I include rodeo. I include Gaga. I include mud wrestling. I include UFC, mixed martial arts. Our music has been part of all of that. If you say David Lee Roth to anybody, I pretty much get the phone call answered at least the first time... This is interactive in its most basic sense. The experience is not just the music and the show — it starts with two pieces of key lime pie for breakfast… David Lee Roth is Vegas, baby. We include it all."

In a separate interview with the Van Halen News Desk, Roth shot down suggestions that his Las Vegas residency will simply see him covering VAN HALEN's classic songs with a new backing band.

"We do not sound like VAN HALEN live. You have not heard this," he said. "VAN HALEN live is lead guitar, bass, drums, sing. Here, we bring it the way a record brings it. To do that requires two or three guitars. We have five people hollerin'. It's big rock sound. It's not 'Just A Gigolo'. It's not brass band. That was a quickie vacation. This is not a tribute band."

He continued: "I wrote these songs. I structured these songs. We bring the respect and dignity to what we are doing the same way that the Lincoln Center brings to the Beethoven Festival with the latest Philharmonic. It's a new orchestra, and a whole new sound."

At press time, Roth's backing band hadn't been revealed. But he promised "a changing set of 26 instantly recognizable songs," pulled primarily from the VAN HALEN catalog.

"You only need five songs," Roth said. "You must have five songs in order to play Las Vegas. It says that in the Bible, or the Torah, or somewhere, we're pretty sure. Well, I have 20 songs... There is an attitude to Las Vegas. It's where we go to celebrate whatever 'living life large' means to you."

Tickets for "David Lee Roth: Rocks Vegas" start at $63.50 and are on sale now.

The full itinerary: January 8, 10-11; March 18, 20-21, 25, 27-28.

MACHINE HEAD Recruits DECAPITATED Guitarist, DEVILMENT Drummer For Upcoming Tour

MACHINE HEAD Recruits DECAPITATED Guitarist, DEVILMENT Drummer For Upcoming Tour

MACHINE HEAD has announced the addition of Polish guitarist Wacław "Vogg" Kiełtyka (DECAPITATED) and British drummer Matt Alston (DEVILMENT, EASTERN FRONT) to the group's ranks. They will join MACHINE HEAD on the first leg of its 25th-anniversary tour for the band's classic debut, "Burn My Eyes". The trek will kick off in Germany on October 5 in Freiburg, and continue across Europe, wrapping in Dublin, Ireland on November 8.

Building on MACHINE HEAD's "An Evening With…" format, these shows will be a three-hour musical extravaganza, comprised of two parts: Part one will feature a battery of MACHINE HEAD's modern classics, such as "Imperium", "Halo" and "The Blood, The Sweat, The Tears", featuring guitarist/vocalist Robb Flynn and bassist Jared MacEachern performing alongside Kiełtyka and Alston. Part two will feature "Burn My Eyes" played in its entirety for the first time ever, with original drummer Chris Kontos and guitarist Logan Mader joining in.

Kiełtyka stated about his new gig: "It's a huge honor to be able to play at the same stage with the mighty MACHINE HEAD. I grew up on their music and when I heard I will join them on this tour, I was literally stoked!

"As a 13-year-old, I was learning songs from 'Burn My Eyes' who is still one of my favorite albums EVER, that album had also a big influence on my playing and my guitar skills.

"MACHINE HEAD is not just a band, it's an institution who has still a big influence on how all metal scene looks like, so for me as a musician and also a metal fan it's something special to be able to be a small part of it.

"That will be definitely a huge lesson and experience for me to be a part of such a professional team. Adventure begins, I cannot wait!

"To all DECAPITATED fans: I will see with you also during DECAPITATED shows in 2020. We do plan also to compose new music for next album so keep an eye on more news!"

Flynn spoke to U.K.'s Kerrang! magazine about the decision to effectively split the set with new musicians playing the non-"Burn My Eyes" songs. He said: "As I was figuring it out with Logan, Chris and Jared, I explained that I can't even imagine playing a MACHINE HEAD show and not playing 'Halo'; 'Imperium'; 'Aesthetics Of Hate'; 'From This Day'; 'The Blood, The Sweat, The Tears…', 'Now We Die' — or even 'Catharsis'. 'Darkness Within' is a show-stopping moment, every time. We had to think about how we were going to pull this off. I wanted to honor Chris and Logan and not have them needing to learn 40 other fucking songs to be able to pull it off.

"It's kind of weird. We're gonna have a lot of motherfuckers on tour," he said. "But it's gonna be fucking awesome. I think it's gonna be a bit of a goddamn circus. I really want to pay tribute to the guys that were there and built it with me. I think it's gonna break the fucking Internet!"

Kontos left MACHINE HEAD before the release of the band's second album, 1997's "The More Things Change", and was replaced by Dave McClain.

Mader contributed to two MACHINE HEAD albums, the aforementioned "Burn My Eyes" and "The More Things Change", before exiting the group and being replaced by Ahrue Luster and, later on, Phil Demmel.

Demmel and McClain exited MACHINE HEAD last fall.

When he announced his departure from the band, Demmel, who first played with Flynn in VIO-LENCE in the late 1980s and early 1990s, said in a statement saying that it was "simply time" for him "to step away and do something else musically." He later revealed in an interview that he was minimally involved in the making of MACHINE HEAD's latest album, 2018's "Catharsis", a record that he said he hated. He also said that MACHINE HEAD gradually "became a Robb Flynn solo project, and that isn't what I signed up for."

This past June, McClain told "Robb's MetalWorks" that he no longer believed in MACHINE HEAD's songs and musical direction toward the end of his tenure with the band.

GRAHAM BONNET To Undergo Spinal Surgery

GRAHAM BONNET To Undergo Spinal Surgery

Graham Bonnet will be unable to participate in MICHAEL SCHENKER FEST's U.K. dates in April 2020 because he will be recovering from spinal surgery to alleviate a pinched nerve. Bonnet will still take part in MICHAEL SCHENKER FEST's Japanese shows in March 2020.

Graham regrets he is unable to make the U.K. shows and will see all the MICHAEL SCHENKER FEST fans there next time.

Earlier this year, Bonnet told Japanese journalist Masa Ito that he was glad to still be fit enough to survive the rigors of the road.

"Everybody's a baby compared to me," he said. "I will be 72 soon — a very old man. I'm okay — I'm doing good. I'm very happy to be in good health. A lot of my friends have died — a lot of people I've known have died over the past two or three years. I'm glad I'm still walking and smiling."

Asked by The Rockpit how he manages to keep his voice in such good shape, Bonnet said: "Keep smoking, keep drinking. No, no…. I quit drinking a while ago — well, a long time ago; about 15 years ago, something like that. I don't smoke, don't drink at all now, and I don't eat foods that will necessarily poison my body, irritate my throat. I try as hard as I can to be careful with what I do, but it isn't always there. Some days it's not always there, like today. I've just come off tour and I'm tired. I surprised myself in rehearsal yesterday, I thought I'd better go out and sing with the band, I'd just got off a plane, we're all rehearsing at the house here, and so I decided to go in and sing some songs and I kept on singing, and I thought, 'Blimey! My voice is still there after all this travelling and sleepless nights.' I've just been very lucky, I think. There's a lot of people at my age [who have] lost the lung power, and that's what it is. You really rely on your lungs to produce the notes. [It's] pretty obvious, but to hit the higher notes, to have the flexibility in the voice, [it] has to come through the air that goes through your body into the vocal cords, and if that's gone, you don't have the control. I've been very lucky in that I have my grandad's lungs. He had a huge chest, like a greyhound, and that's my build, pretty much. So, you just have to be careful not to stress, because sometimes stress can ruin the performances, we all know, and that's why people drink. 'Oh, God, I can't go on tonight. I can't face it.' But I've got past that, and I say, 'I think I can do this,' and I do, usually."

MICHAEL SCHENKER FEST is an ambitious and unorthodox project featuring four singers with whom legendary German guitarist Michael Schenker has worked since 1979 — Gary Barden, Graham Bonnet, Robin McAuley and Doogie White. The drive to create new music is based on the same ethos that has shaped Schenker's whole career, ever since he recorded his first album, "Lonesome Crow", with the SCORPIONS in 1970 at age 15.

MICHAEL SCHENKER FEST's second studio album, "Revelation", was released last week through Nuclear Blast.

SAXON Frontman Recovering From Triple Bypass Surgery

SAXON Frontman Recovering From Triple Bypass Surgery

SAXON frontman Biff Byford is recovering after undergoing an emergency triple bypass surgery on Monday, September 23.

A heart bypass surgery, or coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery, is used to improve blood flow to the heart. A surgeon uses blood vessels taken from another area of the body to bypass the damaged arteries.

The term triple bypass refers to the number of coronary arteries bypassed in the procedure. In other words, a triple bypass means three coronary arteries are bypassed.

Earlier today (September 28), Biff took to social media to offer an update on his health status. He shared a photo of his breakfast, along with the following message: "Hi a cup of tea and jam and roast. T minus 5 days since operation. I'd like to thank all of you who sent love and well wishes and tons of positive vibes to me. I had an emergency triple bi pass operation on Monday morning. I'll be feeling tired for a while. A lot of pain management at the moment but I'm up and about for a bit everyday now. It's more shuffling than walking but hey never surrender and all that. I'd like to thank the tremendous team at york training hospital and Hul..."

SAXON was forced to postpone all its previously announced 2019 shows so that Byford could undergo the procedure. His post-op recovery period will last into 2020.

Formed in 1977, SAXON didn't release its debut album until two years later.

Byford and guitarist Paul Quinn are the sole remaining original members in the group's current lineup, which issued its 22nd LP, "Thunderbolt", in February 2018.

Originally from South Yorkshire, England, SAXON has gone on to sell about 23 million albums and has produced such classic songs as "Denim And Leather", "Princess Of The Night", "Wheels Of Steel" and "Power And Glory".

In addition to Byford and Quinn, SAXON's current lineup includes bassist Nibbs Carter, guitarist Doug Scarratt and drummer Nigel Glockler.

Former MORBID ANGEL Guitarist RICHARD BRUNELLE Dead At 55

Former MORBID ANGEL Guitarist RICHARD BRUNELLE Dead At 55

Former MORBID ANGEL guitarist Richard Brunelle has died, his family has confirmed. He passed away on Monday, September 23 at the age of 55.

The news of Richard's death was broken by his sister-in-law Megan Box-Brunnele. She wrote on Facebook: "This is Richie's sister-in-law. This devastating post is at the request of my husband and his mother. It is with deep regret and sorrow that we inform Richie's friends and fans that he passed away [on Monday]. Please feel free to visit the link to share memories and condolences. Rest in peace, Richie. You were so loved and will be forever missed."

Former MORBID ANGEL drummer Pete Sandoval mourned Richard's death on Instagram. He wrote: "This is really sad! So many great memories we shared together that I'll never forget, hope and wish you are in a better place. My condolences to his family.

"I just received an email of his family letting me know about this sad new, please, a little respect guys, don't ask me the cause of death or something like that, does it matter? he just passed away and that's sad. Thanks"

Brunelle was in MORBID ANGEL from 1985 until 1992 and he appeared on the band's first two albums, 1989's "Altars of Madness" and 1991's "Blessed Are The Sick". He returned to the group a couple of times — most notably in 1994 and 1998 — to help out with live work, but he never took part in any additional recording sessions with the band.

Brunelle formed PATHS OF POSSESSION in 1999 with Randy Butman (SILHAVEN), Jay Fossen and Erin "Goat" Fuller (CRYPTIC WINDS) and appeared on the group's independently released CD-R demo "Legacy In Ashes" in 2000.

Brunelle has been largely inactive for the past decade and a half, having spent much of that time battling drug addiction, which has apparently landed him in jail nearly a dozen times.

A few years ago, Brunelle stated about his exit from MORBID ANGEL: "I was unable to stay with MORBID ANGEL for personal reasons. I spent the next few years trying to start a band and PATHS OF POSSESSION was born. But as fate would have it I quit the band just before they were signed to Metal Blade Records. After I left PATHS OF POSSESSION, there were many dark days for me. It has taken every ounce of strength I have to crawl out of the darkness."

Last year, Richard launched a new project called MOSAIC COVENANT. He was joined in the group by drummer Brandon Thomas Lyons.

MOSAIC COVENANT released its first two songs via Knife Fight Media, "Silence The Dead" and "The Sun Never Stops The Rain".

METALLICA's JAMES HETFIELD Re-Enters Rehab For Addiction; Australia/New Zealand Tour Postponed

METALLICA's JAMES HETFIELD Re-Enters Rehab For Addiction; Australia/New Zealand Tour Postponed

METALLICA has postponed its previously announced tour of Australia and New Zealand so that frontman James Hetfield can re-enter a treatment program to work on his recovery from alcohol addiction.

The band announced the postponement in an emotional note earlier tonight (Friday, September 27). They wrote: "We are truly sorry to inform our fans and friends that we must postpone our upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand.

"As most of you probably know, our brother James has been struggling with addiction on and off for many years. He has now, unfortunately, had to re-enter a treatment program to work on his recovery again.

"We fully intend to make our way to your part of the world as soon as health and schedule permit. We’ll let you know as soon as we can. Once again, we are devastated that we have inconvenienced so many of you, especially our most loyal fans who travel great distances to experience our shows. We appreciate your understanding and support for James and, as always, thank you for being a part of our METALLICA family.

"All tickets purchased to the shows in Australia and New Zealand, including Enhanced Experiences and Black Tickets, will be fully refunded."

In a 2003 interview with Kerrang! magazine, Hetfield spoke about his battle with alcohol addiction and the much-publicized trip to rehab in 2001 that has seemingly enabled the singer to emerge a much healthier and more positive-thinking person that he was during much of the group's 35-plus-year career.

"Going away to rehab taught me about priorities," he said. "I've been in METALLICA since I was 19 years old, which can be a very unusual environment, and it's very easy to find yourself not knowing how to live outside of that environment, which is what happened to me. I didn't know anything about life. I didn't know that I could come home and live a family life. I didn't know that I could live my life in a different way to how it was in the band since I was 19, which was very excessive and very intense. And if you have addictive behavior, then you don't always make the best choices for yourself. And I definitely didn't make the best choices for myself.

"But rehab is like college for your head," he continued. "I really learned some things about myself in there. I was able to reframe my life and not look at everything with a negative connotation. That's how I was raised. It was like a survival technique for me. And getting into METALLICA meant that initially I had to fight to survive, for food, for the towel, for the shower, for everything. And then fighting to be the best band you can be, and putting other bands down. Finding fault with everything was how METALLICA was fueled. And not only did I play a part in that, I was buried in that."

"[In rehab] I learned that every human being is born perfect. I learned that the flaws in ourselves comes from the things around us, from our backgrounds and influences. But when we're born, we all have the same-sized soul. There are certain things that are genetic, but that doesn't mean that I have to act in a certain way, and I didn't know that. My lifestyle has been very intense, and I didn't know how to remove myself from that. Rehab taught me how to do that. It basically taught me how to live."

"I was afraid of so many things. I'd look at other people's friendships and think, 'Man, why can't I have friendships like that?' But I didn't know how to. So I used to try and buy friendships."

Asked whether it was difficult to say to himself, "Look, things have gone too far for me, I need to reach out for help," James said: "Yes, it definitely was difficult. That was one of the most difficult things of all. I had no humility and I felt that I couldn't show any weakness. For me, I was James Hetfield of METALLICA rather than just James Hetfield. And I was trying to live that lifestyle at home, I was trying to wear that mask all the time. And it's amazing how long you can wear a mask for. We're performers who play music — I mean, this is us. This isn't an act. But now I've learned how to be more congruent with where I am. Admitting that sometimes being on tour really sucks, and that I would rather go home. Or that I'm not in a good mood right now, and not worrying if people turn around and say, 'Hey, you're an asshole.' That can't hurt me now, whereas I used to be so concerned that people liked me.

"There's a lot of machoism in this world, but I suppose the most manly thing you can do is face up to your weaknesses and expose them. And you're showing strength by exposing your weaknesses to people. And that opens up a dialogue, it opens up friendships, which is definitely what it has done for me."

During a 2017 interview with "The Joe Rogan Experience" podcast, Hetfield spoke in more detail about checking into rehab 17 years ago and how he almost lost his family in the process.

"Fear was a big motivator in that for me," Hetfield said. "Losing my family, that was the thing that scared me so much. That was the bottom I hit, that my family is going to go away because of my behaviors that I brought home from the road. I got kicked out of my house by my wife; I was living on my own somewhere. I did not want that. Maybe as part of my upbringing, my family kind of disintegrated when I was a kid. Father left, mother passed away, had to live with my brother, and then kind of just, where did my stuff go? It just kind of floated away, and I do not want that happening. No matter what's going on, we're going to talk this stuff out and make it work."

He continued: "[My wife] did the right thing — she kicked my ass right out of the house and that scared the shit out of me. She said, 'Hey, you're not just going to the therapist now and talking about this. You've got to go somewhere and sort this shit out.' So that's what I did… What worked for me was seven weeks someplace — like, basically tearing you down to bones, ripping your life apart. Anything you thought about yourself or what it was, anything you thought you had, your family, your career, anything, gone. Strip you down to just — you're born. Here's how you were when you were born — you were okay. You were a good person. Let's get back to that again. Then they slowly rebuild you."

The Australian leg of METALLICA's "WorldWired" tour was announced in March, with the first show of the trek scheduled for October 17 at Perth's Optus stadium. It was to be the first of eight stadium dates across Australia and New Zealand, including a night at Sydney's ANZ Stadium and two dates at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium.

The tour would have been METALLICA's first to Australia since 2013 and first visit to New Zealand since 2010.

Hetfield's issues with addiction and alcoholism were detailed in the 2004 documentary "Some Kind Of Monster".

Video Premiere: BORKNAGAR's 'Voices'

Video Premiere: BORKNAGAR's 'Voices'

Norway's avant-garde metallers BORKNAGAR will release their new album, "True North", on September 27 via Century Media. The follow-up to 2016's "Winter Thrice" was once again mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden. The official music video for the disc's latest single, "Voices", can be seen below. The clip was directed by Lars A. Nedland and Alexander Olsson of RedinkFrame.

BORKNAGAR's Lars A. Nedland (also main vocalist on "Voices") commented about the track and its video as follows: "'Voices' is a song cut from a different cloth. It was made in one sitting, it was created backwards, and it came to life in a creative frenzy where it felt like it forced itself into existence rather than being consciously written. All the vocals were crafted over a single keyboard note and a simple clicktrack, and the song as it appears on the album is almost frighteningly close to the original demo recording, including many of the original demo vocal takes — though the music is further developed and masterfully enhanced by the eminent musicianship of my fellow Borknamen.

"Thematically speaking, 'Voices' is both an elegy and an introspective celebration of freedom. It's a musical rendering of longing and a directional push towards breaking the shackles of limitation. A lifetime of contemplation distilled into five minutes of music.

"I had images appearing in my mind as I was writing the music, so naturally those images had to come to life as a film to complement it. I have been directing for many years, so I took on the job of piecing everything together myself, in collaboration with Alex Olsson and the production company RedinkFrame. This is how the visual side of 'Voices' was born. Shot on Alexa with a wide assortment of lenses (including my favourite optical tool, Lensbaby) at 25, 50 and 200 fps, the result came in closer to my vision than I ever imagined possible. This is what voices look like. This is how I imagine their echoes linger in us."

BORKNAGAR is (from left to right in photo):

Øystein G. Brun - Clean and Electric Guitar

Lars A. Nedland - Keys and Vocals

ICS Vortex - Bass and Vocals

Bjørn Dugstad Rønnow - Drums

SIXX:A.M. Releases New Song 'Talk To Me' To Help Overcome Stigma Plaguing Opioid Use

SIXX:A.M. Releases New Song 'Talk To Me' To Help Overcome Stigma Plaguing Opioid Use

"Talk To Me", the new song from SIXX:A.M., can be streamed below.

#TalktoMe is a movement by the National Opioid Action Coalition to use the power of conversation to overcome the stigma plaguing opioid use disorder.

"Talk To Me", written by MÖTLEY CRÜE founding member and Global Recovery Initiative Foundation board member Nikki Sixx with his band SIXX:A.M., received its premiere on September 24 at an Advertising Week NY panel on the critical role brands can play to help combat the opioid crisis. Celebrity influencers, government agency and global business leaders armed Advertising Week NY attendees with creative assets and tools to help fight the stigma associated with this epidemic in their communities. The song was created by SIXX:A.M. in support of the #TalkToMe campaign.

"Talk To Me" is available at Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer and Amazon Music.

Earlier this year, Sixx revealed that SIXX:A.M. had recorded four new songs.

The band, which also features guitarist DJ Ashba, singer James Michael and drummer Dustin Steinke, hadn't released any new music in two years and had been on hiatus since 2017. Ashba has since formed a new band, PYROMANTIC.

Sixx spoke about SIXX:A.M.'s future plans in March while promoting the MÖTLEY CRÜE biopic, "The Dirt", and discussing the long-awaited Broadway adaptation of his memoir, "The Heroin Diaries".

"I've just done four new songs with SIXX:A.M.," Nikki told BUILD Series at the time. "Really magical. I think we're gonna go in and record another song as well. We have a greatest-hits [collection coming out] that's gonna tie in to the musical. And if there is time, maybe, for SIXX:A.M., we might go out and do — I don't know — a couple of weeks', three weeks' worth of shows, maybe do festivals next year or something."

A music video for an as-yet-undisclosed new SIXX:A.M. song was filmed in December.

When "The Heroin Diaries" was published, it was accompanied by a soundtrack by SIXX:A.M. The 13 tracks on the record each correspond to one month of Sixx's supposed diary, which he kept from 1986 to 1987 and formed the basis for the autobiography.

SIXX:A.M. embarked on its first North American headlining tour in support of the band's third album, "Modern Vintage", in 2015.

The 10th-anniversary editions of SIXX:A.M.'s "The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack" was made available in October 2017.

SIXX:A.M.'s latest album, "Vol. 2, Prayers For The Blessed", was released in November 2016 via Eleven Seven Music. The disc was written and recorded at the same time as "Vol. 1, Prayers For The Damned", released earlier that same year, and it acted as a companion piece to the first chapter.

GUNS, Joel Hoekstra of WHITESNAKE, Gus G. of FIREWIND, Howie Simon, Ethan Brosh, Marzi Montazeri of EXHORDER, Will Hunt of EVANESCENCE , John O'Boyle, Mike Kerr and Ian Raposa of FIRSTBOURNE and more.

On the subject of guest musicians, Michael comments: "There is a different player appearing on every song. It started out where I was just going to have a couple of guest appearances on it, then I decided that it would be really interesting to bring in different players for every song. I started putting names out there and reaching out to people, and they started agreeing to do it. And then I had guys reaching out to me."

"Ten" is available for pre-order via the Rat Pak Records web site in various bundle configurations, including translucent green and black splatter vinyl, cassette and hand-autographed CD packages. The album also has two bonus tracks that appear on all configurations.

Produced by Michael Sweet, "Ten" was recorded and mixed by Danny Bernini at the Spirithouse Recording Studio in North Hampton and was mastered by Alex Saltz.

Regarding the musical direction of the album, Michael states: "I'm very excited about this release. There are old-school, straight-ahead metal ideas in the vein of JUDAS PRIEST, DIO and IRON MAIDEN — all the stuff I love listening to!"

As for the "Ten" album title, Sweet recently stated: "It's called 'Ten' cause it's my tenth album, and because there is a title track on there about the Ten Commandments — a really powerful song. There's real heavy stuff. It starts kind of smacking you in the face and it ends kicking you in the gut."

"Ten" track listing:

01. Better Part Of Me (featuring Jeff Loomis of ARCH ENEMY)

02. Lay It Down (featuring Marzi Montazeri)

03. Forget, Forgive (featuring Howie Simon)

04. Now Or Never (featuring Gus G of FIREWIND)

05. Ten (featuring Rich Ward of FOZZY)

06. Shine (featuring Ethan Brosh)

07. Let It Be Love

08. Never Alone (featuring Joel Hoekstra of WHITESNAKE)

09. When Love Is Hated (featuring Joel Hoekstra of WHITESNAKE)

10. Ricochet (featuring Tracii Guns of L.A. GUNS)

Bonus tracks:

11. With You Till The End (featuring Mike Kerr and Ian Raposa from FIRSTBOURNE)

12. Son Of Man (featuring Todd La Torre of QUEENSRŸCHE and Andy James)

"One Sided War" was released in August 2016 via Rat Pak Records. Backing Michael on the record were Hoekstra, Hunt, O'Boyle and Brosh.

In a 2016 interview with The Aquarian Weekly, Sweet said that he enjoyed making solo albums "because it's an opportunity to free myself up a little bit more, experiment a little bit more, and try some things that STRYPER may not be able to try."

STRYPER's latest album, "God Damn Evil", was released in April 2018 via Frontiers Music Srl.

CLAWFINGER Releases Music Video For New Single 'Tear You Down'

CLAWFINGER Releases Music Video For New Single 'Tear You Down'

Long-running Swedish rap/metal combo CLAWFINGER has released the official music video for its new single, "Tear You Down". The track will be made available digitally on October 4.

The band stated about the lyrical inspiration for the track: "The current political situation is really... interesting, where one's perceived feeling is more important than facts in today's society. Using twisted statistics to scare people into bad decisions is a daily occurrence and no matter how one argues for its cause, there's always a horde of opposition tearing down the arguments with "whataboutism" or distorted facts. Vote for the truth, but whose truth are we talking about?"

"Tear You Down" arrives approximately two years since the release of CLAWFINGER's last single, "Save Our Souls". That song was made available four years after announcing CLAWFINGER announced it was calling it quits.

During the break from the studio, the members of CLAWFINGER were reportedly taking care of their families while performing sporadic reunion shows, mostly at European festivals. "CLAWFINGER no longer is our main job," the band explained at the time. "We all have other jobs and families to love."

CLAWFINGER's last studio album, "Life Will Kill You", was released in the U.S. in July 2008 via Locomotive Records. The CD, which entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 89 upon its European release in 2007, was recorded and produced at Sweden's Fear And Loathing Studios, a facility that CLAWFINGER runs along with the members of MESHUGGAH.

THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA: Lyric Video For New Song 'Chemical'

THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA: Lyric Video For New Song 'Chemical'

The official lyric video for "Chemical", a brand new song from THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's upcoming album, "The Act", which will be made available on October 11 via Solid State Records.

The members of THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA consistently choose to both challenge themselves and the world around them. The group — Mike Hranica (vocals), Jeremy DePoyster (vocals, guitar), Andy Trick (bass), Kyle Sipress (guitar), Jonathan Gering (keys, synthesizers) and Giuseppe Capolupo (drums) — bends and breaks all boundaries on its seventh full-length and debut for Solid State Records. Pulling plain-spoken poetry through distorted discord and dissonance, the six-piece delivers a dynamic and definitive statement.

Regarding the album, Hranica says: "'The Act' is our seventh full-length and the most detailed effort of our career. The process was scrupulous in every facet. Jon, who's played keyboard with the band for the last seven or eight years, produced the album; which is a decision that's insurmountably snowballed over the past few releases. There is no common theme surrounding every song on the record, although there are notions that inhale and exhale through the LP's timeline."

"This just feels very make it, or break it for us," says Hranica. "All bets are in on 'The Act'. We tried to make something outside of the norm for rock, metalcore, or heavy music. We often hear commentary that 'rock is dead' now; I don't think it has to be that way though. Look at the corners pop and hip-hop turn. Artists just need to reinvent themselves and make something creative and inventive again. Reinvention is what we're driving towards."

"The Act" track listing:

01. Switchblade

02. Lines Of Your Hands

03. Chemical

04. Wave Of Youth

05. Please Say No

06. The Thread

07. Numb

08. Isn't It Strange?

09. Diamond Lost

10. As Kids

11. Even Though

12. Spiderhead

THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA will embark on a headline tour this fall in support of "The Act". NORMA JEAN and GIDEON will also appear.

"There's a lot of unreleased stuff that I've never heard. I mean, I was the fifth drummer. I didn't join until 1990, but spent a lot of time demoing and recording basement practices, and things like that."

A selection of unreleased recordings heard on the soundtrack of the documentary "Kurt Cobain: Montage Of Heck", along with never-before-heard material from Kurt Cobain's personal archives, was released in 2015.

DELAIN Releases Music Video For New Single 'Burning Bridges'

DELAIN Releases Music Video For New Single 'Burning Bridges'

Dutch symphonic metallers DELAIN have release the official music video for their new single, "Burning Bridges". The emotive clip highlights the spectacular vocal talents of vocalist Charlotte Wessels, and once again, the undeniable atmospheric range of DELAIN's music solidified by their potent previous releases.

Juxtaposing multiple genres and musical landscapes, "Burning Bridges" not only confirms the fascinating duality of DELAIN's concept, but also allows Wessels to unleash her hard rock-tinged charisma in melodic chorus — the central point of the diverse song structure. Combined with the music video’s breathtaking aesthetics, "Burning Bridges" is in line to become a signature track amidst DELAIN's catalog — combining gripping guitar solos, cinematic instrumentals, and outstanding vocal performances.

After creating suspense with the previous release of two video teasers, DELAIN unfolds the entire story in their new music video.

The band states: "We are proud to present 'Burning Bridges', the first track off our sixth full-studio album. With its energy and bombast, the track marries some of our favorite musical elements, and introduces a real-life choir as a new color on our palate. We hope you enjoy the track, along with its video, shot in beautiful Snowdonia."

This past June, Wessels confirmed that DELAIN was putting the finishing touches on its new album for an early 2020 release.

DELAIN's latest release was "Hunter's Moon", which came out in February via Napalm Records. The effort consisted of new studio tracks accompanied by a live Blu-ray from the group's sold-out "Danse Macabre" 2017 European tour.

DELAIN drummer Joey De Boer is missing at least the first few shows of the band's current North American tour. According to a Facebook post by the Dutch metal band, "there has been a delay" in obtaining Joey's U.S. visa and "it may take as much as a couple of weeks to get" the paperwork processed. Filling in for him is AMORPHIS drummer Jan Rechberger.

Guitarist Merel Bechtold left DELAIN in June to focus on different musical ambitions. Her final performance with DELAIN took place on June 23 at the Graspop Metal Meeting in Dessel, Belgium.

Watch JANICK GERS's Guitar Slip Out Of His Hands, Fly Into Crowd During IRON MAIDEN's San Antonio Concert

Watch JANICK GERS's Guitar Slip Out Of His Hands, Fly Into Crowd During IRON MAIDEN's San Antonio Concert

IRON MAIDEN's Janick Gers, who is always swinging and throwing his guitar during the band's live performances, lost grip of his instrument during a recent concert and the incident was captured on video.

A fan who attended the gig told BLABBERMOUTH.NET: "At the last U.S. 'Legacy Of The Beast' tour date in San Antonio [on September 25], Janick was twirling his guitar and he lost control of it and it flew off and hit a security guard in the back of the heard and upper torso. It literally flew about ten feet!! They returned it and you could tell he was apologetic. The security guard was okay but his eyes were the size of golf balls and he was in shock. The security guard wasn't injured, as it was a grazing blow, but he was clearly shaken for a moment."

Gers has often been the subject of criticism for his flashy performance style which many fans feel is out of step with MAIDEN's more traditional approach. Radio personality Eddie Trunk gave his opinion on the matter in a 2009 blog entry after seeing MAIDEN perform in Florida. He wrote at the time: "As much as I love MAIDEN. I must state what has been so obvious to so many for so long. Nobody can figure out why the band tolerates Janick Gers's performance style. Don't know the man and I hear he is a nice guy, but he behaves like he is auditioning for 'Dancing With The Stars' on stage and not playing guitar in MAIDEN. Not even sure what he is doing. Cannot possibly be turned up in the mix much of the time. I know so many that have said the same thing. It's just not right for MAIDEN, especially with [other MAIDEN guitarists] Adrian [Smith] and Dave [Murray] in classic mode on stage. I'm sure he's talented and a good guy, but it's way over the top and painful to watch that side of the stage. I love some of the things he has written with MAIDEN and I'm not for a minute saying he should be out of the band, but someone dancing and spinning his guitar just seems so out of place in MAIDEN."

Adriam Smith later defended Janick's performance style, telling Trunk in an interview: "Some people enjoy it. I think it's interesting to have contrasting styles and different personalities [within] the band."

He added: "We actually have to be quite disciplined when we play. I mean, I do, because the songs, some of the arrangements are quite complex and we play 'em very fast, and if I start throwing my guitar around, I just lose the plot, so I don't. [Janick's] fine with it, and it's what he does, and it's cool."

FATES WARNING's RAY ALDER Releases Music Video For New Solo Song 'Crown Of Thorns'

FATES WARNING's RAY ALDER Releases Music Video For New Solo Song 'Crown Of Thorns'

FATES WARNING vocalist Ray Alder will release his first solo album, "What The Water Wants", on October 18 via InsideOut Music. The disc includes 10 melodic and versatile songs created with assistance from guitarists Mike Abdow (FATES WARNING touring member) and Tony Hernando (LORDS OF BLACK) as well as drummer Craig Anderson (IGNITE, CRESCENT SHIELD). The LP was mixed by Simone Mularoni (RHAPSODY, MICHAEL ROMEO, DGM).

The official music video for the disc's second single, "Crown Of Thorns", directed by Manuel Giménez of MG Media Productions, can be seen below.

Alder stated about the song: "In doing a solo album, I wanted to try and write songs that I wouldn't normally do with FATES WARNING. I wanted to show a different side of what I'm about vocally. This song 'Crown Of Thorns', to me, is sort of an homage to the '70s singers and bands I Iistened to while growing up, where a lot of the focus was on the melody. From the very beginning, I found this song super interesting because of the bass line that repeats throughout the entire song. Everything is written around it, so that the melody of the vocals has to flow around it as well. This is one of my favorite tracks from the solo album, and not just because it is so different."

Alder previously stated about "What The Water Wants": "For the last year, I have been writing with Mike Abdow, guitarist/bassist Tony Hernando and my longtime friend Craig Anderson on drums. The album was mixed by Simone Mularoni, who worked tirelessly with me to give this project the great sound we felt it deserved. I have had the ideas for a while but never had the time to actually sit down and write. But since FATES WARNING had taken a break from writing and touring, I finally had the chance to assemble the album. I hope you all enjoy it as much as we did writing and recording it."

"What The Water Wants" track listing:

01. Lost

02. Crown Of Thorns

03. Some Days

04. Shine

05. Under Dark Skies

06. A Beautiful Lie

07. The Road

08. Wait

09. What The Water Wanted

10. The Killing Floor

11. The Road (acoustic version) (bonus track)

"What The Water Wants" will be made available as limited first-pressing digipak CD with a bonus track (an acoustic version of "The Road") and as an LP on 180-fram vinyl with the full album on CD as bonus.

MAYHEM: Lyric Video For New Song 'Of Worms And Ruins'

MAYHEM: Lyric Video For New Song 'Of Worms And Ruins'

The official lyric video for the song "Of Worms And Ruins" from Norwegian black metal veterans MAYHEM can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's forthcoming album, "Daemon", which will be released on October 25 via Century Media.

MAYHEM says: "Here we are, yet another chapter written in the book of MAYHEM, with a track that Ghul wrote. This is a premiere track for Ghul, showing off what he will bring to the table. So indeed our new album has two composers, instead of one. It shall be much more interesting, as for MAYHEM, having two composers in the band, is not the norm. Turn up the fucking volume!"

Pre-orders for the 12-song album have been released. A variety of limited-edition and special variants are available, including a limited deluxe LP boxset (various colors), a limited CD mediabook in slipcase, a standard CD, a limited gatefold LP (various colors) and, of course, a digital version.

By the power of darkness and with the might of black-hearted will no two MAYHEM albums have been or will ever be the same. Over the course of MAYHEM's storied and groundbreaking 35-year career — from "Deathcrush" (1987) through "Esoteric Warfare" (2014) — the Norwegians have continuously challenged the orthodoxy of the genre they helped create. Originally informed by greats HELLHAMMER, VENOM, BATHORY and SODOM, MAYHEM eventually imbued its damnable attack with influences from all over the music extreme spectrum, indicated first on the harsh and angular "Wolf's Lair Abyss" (1997) EP and foremost on the enterprisingly brutal and revolutionary "Grand Declaration Of War" (2000).

"Daemon" isn't a direct follow-up to "Esoteric Warfare". Like all MAYHEM albums of their time, "Daemon" is unto itself. The wolf solitary and singular. Indeed, "Daemon" also isn't a new chapter in MAYHEM's storied career. Rather, it's a new tome, authoritative yet wild in character. Composed and decomposed with the same lineup — Necrobutcher (bass), Hellhammer (drums), Attila (vocals), Teloch (guitars) and Ghul (guitars) — that handled "Esoteric Warfare" and performed "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas" in its entirety over the last few years, "Daemon" isn't a retrofit of classic songs like "Freezing Moon", "Pagan Fears" or "Buried By Time And Dust" either. That's what the live album, "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas Alive" (2016), was for. "Daemon" is change, an opportunity for the maw of hell to open wider.

"MAYHEM will always be MAYHEM," says Teloch. "If we put the genre game aside a bit, no one else sounds like MAYHEM. Even when 'De Mysteriis' came out, it was not at first considered to be a black metal album, if my memory serves me right. Tricky to label this band. Metal would be the most fitting; it's not pure black metal, in my opinion. Not sure it has ever been actually, despite what the general opinion is. People can call it whatever they want. If it's black metal to them, then fine. We don't really care. To me, it's important to keep some sort of black metal vibe at least."

MAYHEM entered NBS Audio Studio (a.k.a. Necromorbus Studio) in Söderfors, Sweden to record drums and vocals with producer/engineer Tore Stjerna. Newly consecrated Studio A (Stjerna's Stockholm studio will continue to operate as Studio B) in an old church, Hellhammer and Csihar recorded their respective parts for "Daemon". The band then had Ghul record his guitars in the Netherlands, while the bass was engineered by Teloch and performed by Necrobutcher at Lupercal Studio in Oslo, Norway. Teloch took his guitar tracking to SleikBallaMi Studio, also in Oslo. "Daemon" was then brought back to Stjerna for mixing and sent off to Thomas Johansson at The Panic Room for mastering. The whole affair took about three months to nail down.

"Daemon" track listing:

01. The Dying False King

02. Agenda Ignis

03. Bad Blood

04. Malum

05. Falsified And Hated

06. Aeon Daemonium

07. Worthless Abomination Destroyed

08. Daemon Spawn

09. Of Worms And Ruins

10. Invoke The Oath

Certainly, the art of the album cover can be hit or miss. Not for MAYHEM. The Norwegians have crafted an aesthetic that's both harrowing and insidious. From the low contrast majesty of "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas" and the blurry haunt of "Chimera" to the suggestive intensity of "Grand Declaration Of War" and "Esoteric Warfare"'s retro-modern mind machine layout, the band have always been progressively inclined where it concerns image, message, and style. For "Daemon", MAYHEM enlisted Italian designer Daniele Valeriani (LUCIFER'S CHILD, DARK FUNERAL) to understand, conceive, and deliver the cover art.

"I think this album will be most pleasing for old and new fans," says Teloch. "As most of our devoted fans know, MAYHEM has never released two albums that sound the same. That's the case this time around as well. As I said, we simplified stuff, but at the same time tried out some new stuff to keep it interesting for ourselves and, also for our fans that dig that we are doing something new on each album."

Soon after the release of "Daemon", MAYHEM will embark on a European headline tour with special guests GAAHLS WYRD and GOST.

WE CAME AS ROMANS Releases First Two Songs Since Passing Of Singer KYLE PAVONE

WE CAME AS ROMANS Releases First Two Songs Since Passing Of Singer KYLE PAVONE

WE CAME AS ROMANS has released two brand new songs, "Carry The Weight" and "From The First Note". These are the first tracks that the band has released since singer Kyle Pavone's tragic passing in August 2018.

"When Kyle passed away, it changed everything for us personally and, as a byproduct, everything for the band," says guitarist Joshua Moore. "An earth-shattering event puts a lot of things in perspective.

"We've spent so much time together. We've been doing this since we were kids. The one thing that won't change is the way Kyle affected my life. Before we were bandmates, we were essentially brothers.

"In order to be genuine to our fans and ourselves, we had to write about what we dealt with losing him. At the same time, this isn't just a bunch of songs soaking in depression. We want to celebrate what we built."

'"Carry The Weight' is about dealing with the immense grief and sadness throughout navigating the loss of Kyle," the band explains. "It's a very honest song, and we're very open about how it felt continuing to play shows without him on stage with us. It's about the darkest part of our grieving process, and the only way we see ourselves moving forward — through the memory, the 'light' that Kyle shone on our band."

About "From the First Note", the band says: "It shows the other side of the loss of Kyle, remembering him and all the moments we shared, what we've created together, and how he will always be a part of us. That we can find his light in every aspect of the band, and feel thankful that we got to have that time of our lives with him. It's a song about celebrating our accomplishments together, reliving the moments from our youngest days as a band, and knowing that he's with us as we move forward."

WE CAME AS ROMANS will return to the road next month with MOTIONLESS IN WHITE.

Pavone joined WE CAME AS ROMANS in 2008 as vocalist and keyboardist and appeared on all five of the band's albums. Their 2013 LP, "Tracing Back Roots", peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 chart.

WE CAME AS ROMANS' fifth album, "Cold Like War", was released in October 2017 through SharpTone Records.

CYHRA Feat. Former IN FLAMES, AMARANTHE Members: 'No Halos In Hell' Album Due In November

CYHRA Feat. Former IN FLAMES, AMARANTHE Members: 'No Halos In Hell' Album Due In November

CYHRA, the band featuring vocalist Jake E (ex-AMARANTHE), guitarist Jesper Strömblad (ex-IN FLAMES), guitarist Euge Valovirta (ex-SHINING) and drummer Alex Landenburg (LUCA TURILLI'S RHAPSODY), will release its second album, "No Halos In Hell", on November 15 via Nuclear Blast Records. The follow-up to 2017's "Letters To Myself" was produced by Jacob Hansen and co-produced by Jake E. It is described in a press release as "one of those rare albums that defies being neatly placed in a genre box; coming out heavy and dynamic, the record is loaded with melodic vocal hooks that stay nailed to the brain for days, achieving maximum impact throughout. Fusing a relentless energy and heaviness the best way possible was CYHRA's main focus this time out."

The official music video for the disc's first single, "Out Of My Life", was directed by Swedish mastermind Patric Ullaeus and can be seen below.

"No Halos In Hell" will be available as a two-CD digipak, as well as on black vinyl and download.

Track listing:

01. Out Of My Life

02. No Halos In Hell

03. Battle From Within

04. I Am The One

05. Bye Bye Forever

06. Dreams Gone Wrong

07. Lost In Time

08. Kings Tonight

09. I Had Your Back

10. Blood Brothers

11. Hit Me

12. Man Of Eternal Rain

The bonus CD in the limited digipak features six additional songs, three of which are exclusive acoustic versions.

Last year, Jake told Finland's Tuonela magazine about the songwriting process for CYHRA's next studio album: "It started off that me and Jesper started to sit down and make the foundations of songs. Then Euge came in and had tons of ideas and then we sent it over to Alex. We threw stuff back and forth, so this was a complete band effort this time. Everyone was involved both in musical writing and in lyric writing."

Added Alex: "It was very organic. A lot happened in the studio. This time, the demos were rougher and less detailed than on the first one. The first one, Jake and Jesper had worked out a couple of songs too detailed then you don't have much space anymore to do things. You're just used to what it sounds like. You're more or less trying to do it the same way in the studio. This time, it was very organic and a lot of collaboration in the studio. It was great."

Said Euge: "We wrote songs in the studio. It was really inspiring because we were all there at the same time because the first album was done. I write guitars in my own studio, but we were all there and living there together, so it was 24/7 together for the four weeks, so there was a lot inspiration."

Continued Jake: "I don't get how we did it the last time. The first album, Alex recorded the drums in Gothenburg together with the guitars and then we switched studios for the bass to a complete other studio in Sweden. Then I flew to New York to do the vocals. Then Euge did his parts in Riga, then we mixed in Denmark. It was the biggest fucking puzzle last time. This time, we decided that we're going to go to one place."

Regarding how CYHRA's sound progressed on its forthcoming second album, Jake said: "We found our sound with the first album. We knew already what kind of music we wanted to play and how we wanted it to sound. Of course, two albums will sound differently, but not to the [extent] that they will be over here [holds hands wide apart]."

Added Alex: "We have a sound. It's clearly the same band. It changed and evolved, but I think it's mostly Euge having a bigger part in the writing and the playing of the album and having the mindset of having two guitars on the album. So, naturally, it's more riff-oriented, more guitar-oriented than the first one. That is probably the biggest difference."

Asked what fans can expect from CYHRA's next studio album, Jake said: "[It will have] a little bit more live-oriented songs. We figured out that not a lot of the songs, but some of the songs on the first album didn't end up being that 'party' — if we can call them a little bit party poopers live, because they're great to listen to in general, but when you have a live set, it's hard. Usually when you release one album, you just get a couple of shows, and then you release a couple of more albums and your career takes off. We were fortunate enough to have our career take off pretty fast, and then we have to play the whole album, all the songs, because we don't have any other songs. But now with the new album, there's some songs that are faster and harder."

Added Euge: "It's a bit more guitar-oriented, like riff-oriented. There's more of those twin-guitar harmonized melodies and riffing than on the first album, but there's still stuff that has nice orchestrated stuff, so it's an evolution from the first album."

Said Alex: "In many aspects. The drums are more diverse than the first album just because on the first record as a band you have to find your sound and test the waters and see how far you can take things, what fits the band and I think all of us got an idea about how the band sounds when we started touring more and playing more. Then you realize, 'Okay, this is something I can do in this band and it works.' Then, on the second record, you can go a little more for that. But, the most obvious thing is the more guitars. More is more."

CYHRA made its live debut in October 2017 at Nosturi in Helsinki, Finland.

In early 2018, CYHRA completed a successful North American tour opening for SABATON and KREATOR.

CYHRA's European tour with new labelmates BATTLE BEAST will kick off in Sweden on November 15.

DEE SNIDER Slams NFL For Ignoring 'Heavy Music' When Choosing SUPER BOWL Halftime Show Performers

Dee Snider has slammed the National Football League for hiring Jennifer Lopez and Shakira to perform at Super Bowl LIV.

On Thursday, the pop singers confirmed they are the headlining acts for the halftime show on February 2, 2020 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.

After news of the NFL's choice of entertainment for next year's event started to make the rounds, the outspoken TWISTED SISTER frontman took to his Twitter to voice his displeasure. He wrote: "WTF!? @shakira and @jlo for this year's @nfl halftime show!? Once again the great heavy music that rocks the stadiums week after week, game after game is completely ignored. I guess we don't shake our ass enough!!"

He later clarified his views, adding: "My point about this years @NFL halftime show isn't a slight on @shakira or @JLo, it's frustration that week after week rock is the go to music during games but gets no respect when it comes to the Super Bowl! And I don't think I'm popular enough for that slot. But @Metallica..."

This is not the first time Snider has taken a shot at the NFL for failing to secure rock acts for the Super Bowl halftime show. Back in February, Snider observed that the playlists at NFL stadiums everywhere for decades have played music by a number of hard rock and heavy metal acts, yet no metal band has ever performed at the halftime show. He proceeded to list songs by METALLICA, OZZY OSBOURNE, GUNS N' ROSES, TWISTED SISTER and QUEEN as some of the ones that are often blasted over the PA at NFL games.

"Hey @NFL! Your go-to songs at EVERY game are metal: Enter Sandman, Cum On Feel the Noise, Thunder, Crazy Train, We're Not Gonna Take It, We Are the Champions, Final Countdown, I Wanna Rock, We Will Rock You, Welcome to Jungle. NONE of those bands have EVER played half-time show!" he wrote at the time.

Only two Super Bowl halftime show performers have come even remotely close to being heavy metal: THE WHO in 2010 and AEROSMITH in 2001.

According to Sportscasting.com, the NFL considers popularity, music genre, and the artists' overall performance value choosing the performers for the halftime show. However, it's not the NFL that chooses who takes the stage. The league comes up with a short list, but the host cities pick the Super Bowl halftime performers.

TYGERS OF PAN TANG Release Music Video For New Single, 'White Lines'

TYGERS OF PAN TANG Release Music Video For New Single, 'White Lines'

"White Lines", the new video from TYGERS OF PAN TANG, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's upcoming album, "Ritual", which will be released on November 22 via Mighty Music. This will be the band's second effort with the label and also the second recording by the current TYGERS lineup. The LP was recorded at ex-TYGERS guitarist Fred Purser's studio in Newcastle Upon Tyne and mixing and additional production was again conducted by Søren Andersen, most recently known for his role as Glenn Hughes's guitarist. Mastering done by Harry Hess (HAREM SCAREM).

TYGERS OF PAN TANG said about the new single: "'White Lines', the first single from 'Ritual', refers to life on the road and a soul of a party, so we wanted a video that was dark, moody, fast-paced and captured the energy of the band. Gav envisioned the idea for the video to be black and white with quick fire edits. The original song demo was an idea that Robb had and Craig had done a bunch of lyrics for. We'd been jamming the original demo and were actually about to drop the song but we knew the chorus vocal melody and lyrics were strong. Micky began jamming different riffs and played what eventually became the verse riff to the song which the guys said, 'Yeah, that's the one.' The rest of the song began to fall into place from there with Jack's vocal ideas being the cherry on the top ... It's a great taster for what the new album has to offer and we're sure after you've heard the chorus once you'll be singing along to it again and again..."

Of the album title, vocalist Jack Meille explained: "Making an album is some kind of ritual. There is something sacred in writing songs as nobody can really tell where the inspiration for a riff or a melody comes from. You can never tell when it's the right time to write a song and you can allow yourself to be inspired; it's like embracing the energies of all members and being connected."

"Ritual" track listing:

01. Worlds Apart

02. Destiny

03. Rescue Me

04. Raise Some Hell

05. Spoils Of War

06. White Lines

07. Words Cut Like Knives

08. Damn You!

09. Love Will Find A Way

10. The Art Of Noise

11. Soil On

TYGERS OF PAN TANG is:

Robb Weir - guitars

Jacopo Meille - vocals

Michael McCrystal - guitars

Gav Gray - bass

Craig Ellis - drums and percussion

HELLYEAH Pays Tribute To VINNIE PAUL With 'Skyy And Water' Video

HELLYEAH Pays Tribute To VINNIE PAUL With 'Skyy And Water' Video

The official music video for the song "Skyy And Water" from HELLYEAH can be seen below. The Wombat Fire-directed clip features backstage and performance footage of the band's late drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott, who passed away more than a year ago.

"Skyy And Water" is taken from HELLYEAH's sixth studio album, "Welcome Home", which is being released on September 27 via Eleven Seven Music.

Like the last two records, 2016's "Unden!able" and 2014's "Blood For Blood", "Welcome Home" was recorded at The Hideout Recording Studio in Las Vegas, Nevada with producer Kevin Churko.

Vinnie Paul died in June 2018 at the age of 54 in his sleep at his home in Las Vegas. The official cause of death was dilated cardiomyopathy, an enlarged heart, as well as severe coronary artery disease.

HELLYEAH guitarist Tom Maxwell paid tribute to Vinnie on the first anniversary of the drummer’s death. Maxwell wrote in part: "I'm writing you this letter to tell you how much I miss and love you. Never could I have imagined you not being here with us anymore. There's so much all of us lost when you left us. Your smile, your infectious laugh, your always steadfast care of all those around you. Everything has changed now.

The guitarist continued: "Our family is just shards of what it used to be. It seemed like every day was harder then the one before it. It's hard just knowing that you're not here to lift everyone up and make everything better with just the simplest things you always used to do. It's hard waking up and trying to navigate through such murky waters. We're doing our best — some better than others, some not so much."

HELLYEAH recently completed a U.S. tour — its first since Vinnie Paul's passing and the debut of STONE SOUR member Roy Mayorga as Vinnie's replacement.

HELLYEAH's 18-city headlining summer outing kicked off on July 23 in Atlanta, and culminated in a special celebration on August 17 in Dallas, Texas.

AEROSMITH Cancels Las Vegas Concert After STEVEN TYLER Loses His Voice

AEROSMITH Cancels Las Vegas Concert After STEVEN TYLER Loses His Voice

AEROSMITH was forced to cancel its performance Thursday night (September 26) in Las Vegas after Steven Tyler lost his voice.

The singer announced the cancelation of the show at Park Theater at Park MGM as part of the band's "Deuces Are Wild" residency on his Twitter account, writing: "I LOST MY VOICE… BUT I CAN'T TALK ABOUT IT. REFUNDS FOR THURSDAY 26TH OF SEPTEMBER'S CANCELED PERFORMANCE WILL BE ISSUED AT POINT OF PURCHASE. @Aerosmith #DEUCESAREWILD"

AEROSMITH is scheduled to play 14 more shows in Las Vegas before the end of the year — one in September, four in October, seven in November, and two in December.

AEROSMITH guitarist Joe Perry told "The Eddie Trunk Podcast" about the "Deuces Are Wild" shows: "We really didn't know what to expect when we came in here [to Vegas]. We were talking to different people who have done it. I know that rock bands have come in and done two or three weeks, a month maybe, and what we saw was most bands would just kind of strip down their regular live show, bring in a little bit more production. And then we also saw… We looked at a lot of different shows — everything from 'Love' to David Copperfield to every other choice of acts on the [Las Vegas] Strip. And we decided that if we were gonna do this, we were gonna make it be not just if you wanna see AEROSMITH, but if you wanna see a rock and roll band and have that kind of music. It's like if you wanna go to see the 'Love' show and see THE BEATLES stuff taken apart and put together in a really amazing way, you go to that. If you wanna see magic, you go to see David Copperfield. If you wanna go to a Cirque Du Soleil show, there's a number of 'em you can go to see. So we wanted it to be a little more than just for AEROSMITH fans. We wanted to have it so that even if you just had heard of us, maybe you'd come and you'd be entertained"

AEROSMITH enlisted THE BEATLES archival producer Giles Martin, who co-designed the sound for Cirque Du Soleil's THE BEATLES "Love" show, to supervise its sound in Vegas.

"I think the whole thing is the learning process," Perry continued. "We wanted to keep the thing real rock and roll, but put on a big show. And so when that was being put together, there was always a rub, because there was a lot of computerized stuff, because there are so many moving parts. And there are probably four or five different areas of people running things, because there's so much just moving parts, lights — all that stuff — and you just can't run it like a regular show. But we did study some of the pop acts and things like that, and since we don't have 16 dancers up there, and we probably never will, we thought that we would try a few things to bring up the level of the music itself. And we realized the best thing we could do is just keep it stripped down to AEROSMITH. And we filled in a few things — we have a percussionist and another background singer to help fill it out, just something that we wouldn't be able to do on a regular tour. But what we realized during the first run was that the more of the real essential AEROSMITH we could give, the better the show was inside of the production around it. And playing some of the songs in that setting made it that much more entertaining, and more entertaining for us, 'cause we realized that we could be a lot looser — probably closer to how we would do an afternoon gig at a club. That kind of loose."

AEROSMITH recently extended its Las Vegas residency with 15 more dates in early 2020 due to "extraordinary demand."

In 2017, AEROSMITH announced a run of dates called "Aero-Vederci Baby!", but stopped short of calling it a final tour.

AEROSMITH hasn't released a new studio album since 2012's "Music From Another Dimension!"

SEBASTIAN BACH Reunites With Original SKID ROW Drummer ROB AFFUSO On Stage In New York City (Video)

SEBASTIAN BACH Reunites With Original SKID ROW Drummer ROB AFFUSO On Stage In New York City (Video)

Drummer Rob Affuso joined his former SKID ROW bandmate Sebastian Bach on stage last night (Wednesday, September 25) at Sony Hall in New York City to perform the band's classic song "Makin' A Mess". Fan-filmed video footage of his appearance can be seen below (courtesy of YouTube user "Otom Izot").

A short time after the concert, Affuso took to social media to write: "Great to be 'Back in the saddle!'"

Affuso — who left SKID ROW in 1998 and claims to be "the only former member that keeps in contact with all former SKID ROW bandmates and is still good friends with them all" — previously reunited with Bach to perform classic SKID ROW songs on at least two occasions — a 2011 show in Poughkeepsie, New York where Affuso played "I Remember You", and a 2016 show in the same city where he played "Rattlesnake Shake".

Last month, Bach kicked off a tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of SKID ROW's self-titled debut album.

In June, Bach issued an "open invitation" to the other members of SKID ROW's classic lineup to "get onstage and jam" during the vocalist's current tour. A few days later, during an interview with Finland's Kaaos TV, guitarist Dave "Snake" Sabo confirmed that he would not accept Bach's latest overture. "I'm working with my band," he said. "This is SKID ROW, and this is what I do."

Asked by Rolling Stone if he thinks his former bandmates are offended that he put his invitation out there publicly, Bach said: "No. I think it's an ego thing. They don't like when I get attention, and they don't get attention. It's always been like that. I can already see them getting mad, because I'm selling out shows, and they're not part of the show, and blah, blah, blah."

Bach parted ways with SKID ROW in 1996. Three years later, the group resurfaced with vocalist Johnny Solinger, who fronted the band until 2015. After an eight-month stint with former TNT vocalist Tony Harnell — who Bolan said last year was a "really bad match" that "just didn't fit" — SKID ROW recruited former DRAGONFORCE vocalist ZP Theart, who has toured with the group for the past three and a half years.

Bach recently told PopCulture.com that the classic lineup of SKID ROW's "almost" reunited last year. "It didn't happen for business reasons, I would say," he explained. "But we're all alive — that's all I can say. And it would be fun. Everybody would love that. They would love that."

Pressed about whether it's "nostalgic" for him to be playing SKID ROW's debut album in its entirety, Bach said: "Well, it certainly is, because it was 30 years ago. I don't have any problems with that. We do a lot of these songs in our set anyways, but there are three or four that we never, ever, ever do. And I guess the fans like the novelty of, like, when they put a CD in their car, or when they listen to it on their phone, the album, they like to have that happen live in their face. But it's a new thing for me to do an album in its entirety. And there are songs on here that I wouldn't do — like, I'm not gonna do these next tour. Well, I don't know about that. 'Cause I don't do things just for money, but if the money's right, I might think about it. [Laughs]"

Asked if it feels different for him to play the early SKID ROW songs without the other members of the band's classic lineup, Sebastian said: "Not for me, it's not. The only thing I would say that is different is that SKID ROW was a two-guitar band. In my band, it's one guitar. Sometimes it's too loud for me. I'm just being honest. If it's too loud for me, I can't really sing as good as I can. It's gotta be at a controlled volume."

WRECK-DEFY Featuring Former ANNIHILATOR, TESTAMENT, DEMOLITION HAMMER Members Release Official Lyric Video For "Broken Peace"

WRECK-DEFY Featuring Former ANNIHILATOR, TESTAMENT, DEMOLITION HAMMER Members Release Official Lyric Video For "Broken Peace"

Wreck-Defy, featuring former members of Annihilator, Testament and Demolition Hammer, released their new, first edition album, Remnants Of Pain on February 1st. The album was mixed, mastered and edited by Juan Urteaga who also produced Testament, Heathen, Vicious Rumors, and Dragonlord to name a few.

Finland's Inverse Records officially release the album today (September 27th). They have released a new lyric video for the previously released single, "Broken Peace", which can be viewed below.

"The new record has a street level sound that is a throwback to the burgeoning thrash metal movement from the mid 80's with a more modern day production value. To me thrash metal is about honesty, integrity and just an overall street level approach to things...lyrically its about many of the negative aspects in life such as war, addiction, tyranny, etc." says Matt Hanchuck.

Wreck-Defy began in 2016 when Matt Hanchuck got together with his friend Justin Steer who agreed to do the vocals on the debut record Fragments of Anger. They brought in Shawn Drover from Megadeth to play all the drums on the first album... combining that with the fact that his brother Glen... also ex-Megadeth alumni agreed to mix and master the album which gave it some notoriety so to speak... credibility if you will.

The current lineup of the band is Matt Hanchuck on guitar, Aaron Randall (ex-Annihilator) on vocals and Greg Christian (ex-Testament) on bass. For the album they used Dave O'Neal as a studio session drummer... but moving forward they've been able to recruit the amazing Alex Marquez from Demolition Hammer and Solstice for future tours and shows.

Tracklisting:

"Killing The Children"
"Broken Peace"
"Riverview"
"Looking Back"
"18oz Of Chrome"
"The Divide"
"Art Of Addiction"
"Angels And Demons"
"Blackend Cloth"

Finland's POST PULSE Release New Single "Machinery Of Lies"

Finland's POST PULSE Release New Single "Machinery Of Lies"

Post Pulse is a unique death metal band hailing from Helsinki, Finland. Consisting of members Antti Karhu (ex-The Man-Eating Tree), Sam Roon (Hung), Tapani Rantanen and Anttoni Välimaa, the multi-cultural lineup produces a sound that marries American and Finnish death metal styles. The result is a rhythm-heavy, aggressive, and impactful body of work that stands out among bands in their genres on both sides of the ocean.

They have released a new single, "Machinery Of Lies", which is available for streaming below.

Post Pulse released their new EP, The Price You Paid, earlier this year, which includes a cover of the classic Jimi Hendrix cut "Crosstown Traffic". It is available as a free download from the Post Pulse Bandcamp page, or via all digital platforms

"The Price You Paid" is an aggressive track and in your face by design, and includes a few truly special epic moments that encourage you to smash things around you. "Crosstown Traffic" was carefully crafted to pay homage to the original Jimi Hendrix classic, while remaining true to the Post Pulse sound. The EP is mixed by Ryan Kelly at Garden Sound Studio and mastered by Andreas Andersson at Servant Studio (www.servantstudio.com).

Post Pulse's own Antti Karhu has once again put together some amazing videos for the tracks. "The Price You Paid" has an original style for a lyric video, and "Crosstown Traffic" pays tribute to the original Jimi Hendrix music video.

California Symphonic Death Metal Act CREPUSCLE Stream New Single "In The Winds Of Glory"

California Symphonic Death Metal Act CREPUSCLE Stream New Single "In The Winds Of Glory"

"In The Winds Of Glory" is the epic new single from Redwood City, California-based symphonic / melodic death metal quintet Crepuscle. The track has been unveiled in advance of the band's impending second LP, Heavenly Skies, nearing an October 11th release through Creator-Destructor Records.

Offers the band of the "In The Winds Of Glory" track, "'In The Winds Of Glory' is a track unlike anything we have previously released. The folk metal influences are undeniable, and the tempo does not relent, making this one of the rare instances where we keep it fast all the way through. We hope you're ready for battle and for some melodies to get stuck in your head."

Heavenly Skies by Crepuscle

The eleven dynamic songs which create Crepuscle's Heavenly Skies were heavily captured by the band, with all guitars, bass, and vocals recorded at founding member Eligio Tapia's home studio during sessions over an entire year. The tracks were reamped by Nick Loiacono at Fang Studios in San Mateo, who also recorded the drums and acoustic guitars, and handled mixing and mastering. Fitted with vibrant cover art by German artist Aerroscape, the Heavenly Skies LP is now completed for its release.

Crepuscle - a reference to the time of day immediately following sunset - released their initial demo in 2013, followed by their independently-released debut full-length, Draconian Winter, the following year, resulting in a sponsorship from ESP Guitars. The band's epic and intense songs blend elements of melodic death metal and symphonic, orchestral finesse, delivering excellent songwriting and instantly infectious movements in the vein of Wintersun, Hypocrisy, Kalmah, and Insomnium. After a five-year wait, the band is now ready to unveil their second album, Heavenly Skies.

Exclusive: XAON Premieres “Eros” Video

Exclusive: XAON Premieres “Eros” Video

An elusive name born amidst Switzerland's highest mountains, Xaon never quite fitted in any of the numerous galleries metal has to offer, drifting through the extremes whilst juxtaposing finesse and vehemence from an unworldly orchestra, endlessly exploring the vast echoic gloominess of the human mind.

In only a few short years, the combo led by Vincent Zermatten (guitars) and Rob Carson (vocals/orchestrations) has managed to tour the world through the release of their critically acclaimed debut album The Drift, notably across Europe with gothic metal monsters Sirenia and folk metal legends Tyr, in Japan with Obscura and Archspire, in the US with The Veer Union, and sharing the stage in festivals across Europe with bands such as Megadeth, Testament, Exodus, Gojira, Paradise Lost, Eluveitie and many more.

Xaon returned with their 2nd album somberly entitled Solipsis available through Mighty Music, bringing the band's grandiose aggressiveness to a whole new level, pummeling their way through a cataclysmic atmosphere while reaching a new majestic apotheosis. This album is set to debut in the spring, which will see the band performing across Europe with Septicflesh and Krisiun while continuing to prove themselves as an upcoming force around the Metal world.

Solipsis is out on CD, LTD LP & digital on  through Mighty Music and BraveWords is premiering the video for the track “Eros”.

Rob, vocalist of Xaon about “Eros”:

"We are very excited to finally unveil this new music video for our song "Eros", directed once again by Brice Hincker from CHS Prod and shot between the Tabernas desert in Spain and a chapel in Mulhouse (FR). The thematic follows the solipsistic concept present throughout the album and delves into the realisations of, not only absolute solitude, but also total abandonment."
