WARREL DANE: Listen To 'As Fast As The Others' Song From Final Album, 'Shadow Work'On December 13, 2017, the worldwide metal community mourned the passing of a truly unique voice, an extremely gifted songwriter, and above all a wonderful human being, that will be dearly missed: Warrel Dane, who died of a heart attack during the recordings of his second solo album in São Paulo, Brazil.
Renowned for his work in SANCTUARY and NEVERMORE as well as a solo artist, in 2014 Warrel had teamed up with Brazilian musicians Johnny Moraes (guitar), Thiago Oliveira (guitar), Fabio Carito (bass) and Marcus Dotta (drums) as his touring band and ultimately this successful collaboration led to plans for a new studio album. Recordings for "Shadow Work", the follow-up to 2008's "Praises To The War Machine", started in fall 2017 at Orra Meu Studio, São Paulo, and Travis Smith commenced to create the artwork following a concept and ideas previously discussed with Warrel.
Then he passed away, left his fellow musicians, fans, friends and family as well as his label in shock putting the status of "Shadow Work" in limbo for a while.
After reviewing the material that could actually be completed using vocals from various studio and pre-production sessions with Warrel, the decision was made to release his final recordings as "Shadow Work" on October 26.
he second single from "Shadow Work", a song called "As Fast As The Others", can be streamed below.
Jens Prüter, head of A&R, and Stefan Franke, product manager of Century Media Records, say: "We are looking forward to release these 40 minutes of music in October. We and many other workmates at Century Media Records have known Warrel for years, have been through thick and thin, and are fans of his art just like the many, many people supporting him since the '80s. The dedication his band, Travis Smith and our team invested in completing 'Shadow Work' was astonishing and the entire record carries an eerie atmosphere of Warrel already feeling that this might be his last work. It is heartbreaking that he was right in the end. Rest in peace, friend."
"Shadow Work" will be released as special edition CD mediabook offering a 44-page booklet, as gatefold LP plus CD and 12-page LP booklet and on all digital platforms. Each song is illustrated by Travis Smith's art, created as his personal tribute to Warrel and further explained in his personal liner notes. Furthermore, photos, lyrics and moving statements from the musicians are included as well.
Smith said: "[Warrel] told me he wanted the cover for this one to be a personification of one of its songs, affectionately titled 'Sweet Madame Satan, And Why.' I dug up the skeleton of an old idea we'd talked about once before, and with a few details and alterations of his own, it was exactly what he had envisioned. He 'loved it,' approved it, and then gave me an outline for what he wanted to do for the back cover to complement it as a sort of prologue.
"I finished the additional artwork taking inspiration from old conversations, titles, absorbing passages from his notebooks, and some lyrics that he'd passed along earlier...
"Thank you for everything these past 20 years... It was an honor. It will be missed. You are missed. I know we did you proud."
Added Thiago, Johnny, Fabio and Marcus: "To give birth to a work like this, is for us a tribute to someone that was like family and honor his memory by sharing some of the savage poetry that he created and was ultimately so proud of.
"Warrel came into our lives like a storm, took us into a very intense ride, we roamed endless roads into the unknown, into places that we never dreamed of both inside and outside our minds, and left. He was someone who lived with us, dreamed with us and enjoyed our hospitality, and in return gave us so much back. Some of us acted like his mother, some of us saw him as a father figure, some of us took care of him in some of his darkest moments. Yet he was a friend, and somehow, will be always there.
"To record such an album, and to work alongside an artist as gifted as Warrel, is somehow like being enthralled by his brightest light, and, at the same time being engulfed by his darkest shadow. There is so much to say, and yet nothing to say. In the meantime, we are proud to share this portrait of the storm we went through in form of art. Light, peace and love."
"Shadow Work" track listing:
01. Ethereal Blessing
02. Madame Satan
03. Disconnection System
04. As Fast As The Others
05. Shadow Work
06. The Hanging Garden (THE CURE cover)
07. Rain

Listen To Title Track Of New P.O.D. Album, 'Circles'"Circles", the title track of the upcoming album from San Diego, California-based rockers P.O.D. (PAYABLE ON DEATH), can be streamed below. The band's 10th studio disc will be released on November 16 via Mascot Label Group.
On "Circles", P.O.D. collaborated with the Los Angeles-based production duo called the Heavy (Jason Bell and Jordan Miller), who ensured the album is contemporary sounding without losing any of the band's core sonic signifiers. The rap-driven "Rockin' With The Best" has an old-school P.O.D. sound that nods to the BEASTIE BOYS, while "Always Southern California" is a reggae-inflected rocker and the groove-heavy "Soundboy Killa" is a hip-hop/metal hybrid. The dynamic title track even boasts moody electronic flourishes, glassy piano, and laid-back rapping verses.
"On 'Circles', we didn't limit ourselves and say, 'Hey, we need to please the metal crowd, or the hardcore crowd, or the punk crowd,'" says frontman Sonny Sandoval. "We just wanted to play and write songs that we hope are relevant and catchy to a new audience, while, at the same time, still being true to ourselves."
From a lyrical standpoint, P.O.D. kept a similar open mind, while turning to optimism for inspiration. The title track addresses trying to get out of an unhealthy cycle in which someone feels stuck, while "Dreaming" envisions seeking out a brighter future even if the present day is tough. Other songs grapple with how to navigate life's biggest challenges. "Home" emerged after Sandoval suddenly lost a close friend who was more like a brother to him. "Fly Away", meanwhile, acknowledges that all of us sometimes struggle, and need to rely on others for help.
We're looking for answers — and we're going to people to help us get through things — but at the same time, no one's perfect," Sandoval says. "Everybody's going through stuff, and we're all kind of on this same level and the same journey of experience and just trying to figure out our course of life."
The idea of searching for a bright side has been a constant theme for P.O.D. over the years, both on newer songs such as "Lost In Forever" and "Beautiful" and on early hits "Alive", "Youth Of The Nation" and "Boom". Through it all, the members of P.O.D. — Sandoval, lead guitarist Marcos Curiel, bassist Traa Daniels and drummer Wuv Bernardo — have leaned on one another for support and creative inspiration.
"We are touring and making music because it still means something to the people that are coming out to see us, and people that are still listening to our music," Sandoval says. "We're humbled, we're grateful, and we're thankful for people that still enjoy what we're doing."
"Circles" track listing:
01. Rockin' With The Best
02. Always Southern California
03. Circles
04. Panic Attack
05. On The Radio
06. Fly Away
07. Listening For The Silence
08. Dreaming
09. Domino
10. Soundboy Killa
11. Home
Over the span of two decades, P.O.D. has released 10 studio albums, including the triple-platinum "Satellite". They have had several hit songs, including "Southtown", "Alive", "Youth Of The Nation" and "Boom", and most recently with their Active Rock singles "Higher", "Beautiful" and "Lost In Forever", which reached No. 1. The band has been nominated for three Grammy Awards, racked up four #1 music videos, and contributed songs to numerous major motion picture soundtracks.
The members of P.O.D. are also active members of a tight-knit music community, having collaborated with a diverse list of artists including Katy Perry, H.R. (BAD BRAINS), Mike Muir (SUICIDAL TENDENCIES), Sen Dog (CYPRESS HILL), and more. The band's tenth studio album, "The Awakening", was released in 2015.

Video Premiere: BLACK STONE CHERRY's 'Carry Me On Down The Road'Kentucky rockers BLACK STONE CHERRY have released the official music video for the song "Carry Me On Down The Road". The track is taken from the band's latest album, "Family Tree", which was released on April 20 via Mascot Records/Mascot Label Group.
BLACK STONE CHERRY frontman Chris Robertson told Metal Hammer about "Carry Me On Down The Road": "[It's] one of my absolute favorites from the album. It may be one of the top five songs we've ever written. It's one of the most musical things we've ever written. It flows up and down, and there's a lot of dynamics. It's a pain in the ass to sing and play, but it's a lot of fun! You really hear the jam band influences coming through: bands like GOV'T MULE and THE ALLMAN BROTHERS."
If you've ever wondered what it's like or wanted to experience a tour with BLACK STONE CHERRY, the "Carry Me On Down The Road" clip — which was filmed and directed by Mike Rodway — gives you "the coolest and most unique perspective" of the band's touring lives.
As was the case on 2016's "Kentucky", the BLACK STONE CHERRY members opted to produce and track "Family Tree" at David Barrick's Barrick Recording in Glasgow, Kentucky, the same studio where the four-piece recorded its eponymous debut. BLACK STONE CHERRY also chose to not over-rehearse upfront of the album sessions, instead preferring the immediacy and spontaneity of in-the-moment takes. The band also entrusted frontman Chris Robertson to mix the songs, which perfectly fit the loose, creative process that birthed "Family Tree".
wo special guests appear, one bringing the concept of family full circle. Chris's five-year-old son contributes backup vocals on the swaggering "You Got The Blues", while the other, revered jam-band musician Warren Haynes (GOV'T MULE) offers a guitar cameo and vocals on the delta stomp of "Dancing In The Rain". The band first met Warren 17 years ago as freshly signed youngsters on their first visit to New York City.

AFIRE is a melodic hard rock band hailing from Oulu, Finland. The group was formed in 2016 when vocalist Suvi Hiltunen joined forces with Oulu-based musicians guitarist Antti Leiviskä (ex-POISONBLACK, BRÜSSEL KAUPALLINEN), guitarist Sami Kukkohovi (ex-SENTENCED, KYPCK), bassist Harri Halonen and drummer Tarmo Kanerva (ex-POISONBLACK).
Halonen comments on "Let Me Be the One": "'Let Me Be The One' is one of the first songs I wrote with our singer Suvi Hiltunen for this band. It might not be the most evident choice as first single amongst the uptempo rock songs on the album, but it does represent well the moodier side of AFIRE, which is an essential part of what we have to offer."

CHEVELLE To Release Collection of B-Sides And Rarities, '12 Bloody Spies'CHEVELLE will release an album of rarities, "12 Bloody Spies", on October 26. The band announced the collection by mailing a letter to 12 of its biggest fans. A copy of the letter was later posted to the band's Twitter account.
The letter reads in part: "CHEVELLE is releasing its first-ever rarities album, '12 Bloody Spies', and you are one of the first 12 fans to get the news! We wanted to do something very special for you since you have been so dedicated and loyal over the years. Our fans are truly the best, and we want you to know how much we appreciated you."
"12 Bloody Spies" will be available for pre-order starting this Friday, September 28.
Last month, CHEVELLE drummer Sam Loeffler told the Lazer 103.3 radio station that the band has commenced the songwriting process for the follow-up to 2016's "The North Corridor" album. "We've got about half a record that we've been working on forever," he said. "Pete [Loeffler, guitar/vocals] always has songs that he's working on, so when we start to write, we have a really good amount of stuff to pool from, which is great. So, yeah, we've been just taking our time. We all try to get a little bit of life in between there, but we're writing, we're doing a few songs here and there, and it's actually been a great summer. I'm excited about the music, so that's a bonus."
ccording to Sam, touring for the past two years in support of "The North Corridor" has helped shape the direction of CHEVELLE's new material.
"After you've finished a record, you don't really listen to it at all, because it's difficult — you've spent all that time working on it and doing it, and then to go and listen to it would be a lot more work," he said. "So you really hear those songs when you tour on them and play them, and then that really does give you an idea of what you wanna do next."
CHEVELLE's 2014 album, "La Gargola", gave the band its highest chart debut (No. 3) and produced a No. 1 single on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart in "Take Out The Gunman".
"The North Corridor" debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 album chart and produced another No. 1 Mainstream Rock single, "Joyride (Omen)". The disc featured songwriting by Pete, who was working with producer Joe Baressi through the Internet.

METALLICA's KIRK HAMMETT Talks Possible Solo Record: 'It Would Not Look Like A Metal Album At All'METALLICA guitarist Kirk Hammett has told Metal Hammer magazine that he is open to the idea of eventually releasing a solo album. "I have so much material sitting around that's obviously not METALLICA stuff, and that pile gets bigger and bigger. One of these days when it feels right…" he said. "I still feel I have so much to give METALLICA. When that feels more complete, maybe I'll think about doing that other stuff." As for what fans should expect from a Hammett LP, he said: "It would not look like a metal album at all. It'll be something so weird and far-ranging in styles, but cohesive at the same time. I wouldn't be surprised if all of us did some solo, independent, autonomous sort of thing. I think it's healthy, and if anything, when you come back to the band, you'd come back with more enthusiasm. It'd feel like going on a little camping trip, and it's always good to come back home to a nice warm bed!"
Hammett previously admitted to Rolling Stone in a 2008 interview that he contemplated going solo during the making of "St. Anger" while the bandmembers were struggling with their own issues, including James Hetfield's stay at rehab and various interpersonal conflicts. "Honestly, I was ready to start working on a solo album," he said. "I had a bunch of music I was sitting on. I was going to ask Lars [Ulrich, METALLICA drummer] to play drums on it."
Kirk told Rolling Stone that he played "a lot of jazz and blues" in his spare time. "I listen to Tal Farlow, Kenny Burrell, Elmore James and Buddy Guy. One of these days, I'll do a solo album that is very rounded, as far as styles of guitar. I was thinking once: What am I going to do when I'm 70 years old and I'm sitting on the porch with a guitar? Play 'Seek & Destroy'? [Laughs] I love riffing on UFO songs for half an hour. But then I'll lean over to the amp, switch to a clean channel and play some bossa nova or Robert Johnson."
METALLICA kicked off the 2018/2019 U.S. leg of the "WorldWired" arena tour on September 2 at the Kohl Center in Madison, Wisconsin. The band is continuing to tour in support of its latest album, "Hardwired… To Self-Destruct", which arrived in November 2016. 18

IRON MAIDEN's Summer 2018 'Legacy Of The Beast' Tour Generates MillionsAccording to Billboard's Boxscore data, the summer 2018 leg of IRON MAIDEN's "Legacy Of The Beast" tour grossed more than $28 million from 17 shows. The highest-earning date ($4,797,916) took place on July 14 in Madrid, where a capacity crowd of 48,689 saw the band perform at what has been described as Spain's most modern stadium, Wanda Metropolitano. The second-biggest concert ($2,926,064) happened on June 1 in Stockholm, Sweden, where 37,221 fans were packed into the sold-out Tele2 Arena.
IRON MAIDEN opened its concerts on the trek with "Aces High" and continued with "Where Eagles Dare". Other notable tracks aired during the set included the Blaze Bayley-era classics "The Clansman" and "Sign Of The Cross", as well as three additional songs that were performed for the first time in years: "For The Greater Good Of God", "The Wicker Man" and "Flight Of Icarus".
The concept for the "Legacy Of The Beast" tour was inspired by MAIDEN's mobile game and comic book of the same name and the stage set design featured a number of different but interlocking "worlds" with a setlist covering a large selection of 1980s material with a handful of surprises from later albums to add diversity.
Last year, IRON MAIDEN's efforts to beat scalpers and take on the resale market were hailed as a huge success, cutting its listings on secondary sites by over 95 percent, according to promoter Live Nation and the band's management.
number of anti-scalping measures were utilized for the U.K. leg of MAIDEN's 2017 "The Book Of Souls" tour, including extensive use of paperless ticketing. All other legitimate ticket purchases carry the name of the buyer with entry to the venue requiring proof of ID.
IRON MAIDEN's "The Book Of Souls" tour grossed $54 million in 2016, based on box office reports from 47 shows, selling over 800,000 tickets.
MAIDEN's "The Book Of Souls" world tour kicked off in early 2016 and hit North America last year. The band's Mayan-themed set saw Eddie, MAIDEN's omnipresent mascot, having his heart torn out of his chest by singer Bruce Dickinson, who threw the heart into the crowd.
"The Book Of Souls" is MAIDEN's first ever double studio album and their most successful chart-wise to date, debuting at the No. 1 spot in over 40 countries around the world and No. 4 in the U.S.A.

SAXON To Celebrate 40th Anniversary In 2019SAXON frontman Biff Byford has told Moshpit Passion in a new interview that the band is planning to celebrate a special milestone in 2019. "We are touring until December, I think, but we've got something planned next year for our 40th anniversary," he said (see video below). "So I'm looking forward to that. There should be some… maybe some festivals and maybe two or three special shows."
Byford added that he "can't share" any details about the 40th-anniversary-celebration plans yet because it's "top secret."
Although SAXON was formed in 1977, the band's debut album didn't arrive until two years later.
Byford and guitarist Paul Quinn are the sole remaining original members in the group's current lineup, which issued its 22nd LP, "Thunderbolt", earlier this year.
riginally from South Yorkshire, England, SAXON has gone on to sell about 23 million albums and has produced such classic songs as "Denim And Leather", "Princess Of The Night", "Wheels Of Steel" and "Power And Glory".
In addition to Byford and Quinn, SAXON's current lineup includes bassist Nibbs Carter, guitarist Doug Scarratt and drummer Nigel Glockler.
SAXON is represented by X-ray Touring's Steve Strange, APA's Keith Naisbitt and Siren Artist Management's Adam Parsons. 1

SINSAENUM Feat. DRAGONFORCE, Ex-SLIPKNOT Members: Video For Cover Of MELVINS' 'Hooch'SINSAENUM, the extreme death metal project featuring DRAGONFORCE bassist Frédéric Leclercq and former SLIPKNOT drummer Joey Jordison, has issued a brand new single, a previously unreleased cover of the MELVINS song "Hooch".
The song is extremely heavy, while visually, "Hooch" is a tribute to the original version’s video with a disturbing twist.
SINSAENUM's latest album, "Repulsion For Humanity", was released on August 10 via earMUSIC.
With the help of Francis Caste on mixing duties, SINSAENUM sharpened their own sonic identity, far from the typical death or modern metal sound.
he cover artwork, created by none other than Travis Smith, matches the radical, violent and angry approach of the album.
Last November, SINSAENUM released the EP "Ashes", with Metal Hammer Germany declaring it to be a "rad sign of life" and Metal Hammer U.K. taking it one step further, saying, "Take that form into the studio for the second full-length and we could have a classic on our hands."
"Echoes Of The Tortured", SINSAENUM's first album, was nominated as "Best Debut" by Metal Hammer Germany and was praised worldwide as one of the freshest and finest approaches to death metal.
With these impressive credentials, it is hard not to label SINSAENUM a supergroup, since it embodies the joint venture of Leclercq and Jordison. The rest of the band is of no less importance and credibility — Sean Zatorsky (DÅÅTH, vocals), Stephane Buriez (LOUDBLAST, guitar), Heimoth (SETH, bass) and Attila Csihar (MAYHEM, vocals) – all of which are well respected in their fields – complete the ensemble, making SINSAENUM the epitome of premium-level heavy metal.
This autumn, SINSAENUM will be touring for the first time since its formation. 1

ALL THAT REMAINS: New Album Title, Cover Artwork UnveiledMassachusetts metallers ALL THAT REMAINS have set "Victim Of The New Disease" as the title of their new album. The cover artwork for the follow-up to last year's "Madness" has been posted on the band's social media pages and can be seen below.
More information about "Victim Of The New Disease", including the official release date, will be made available tomorrow.
ALL THAT REMAINS singer Phil Labonte told Tyler and Mo of Z97.5's "Morning Mayhem" radio show that he and his bandmates were "in teaser mode," which means that "we're putting up little teasers on our Instagram page, and there will be more information coming in the next few weeks. And if people go to the ALL THAT REMAINS Instagram page, you're getting a little taste right now, and you'll continue to get a little taste for a little while. And then there'll be an announcement and people will be able to pre-order and all that stuff. So it's currently going on. We're doing our best to give people information and get them informed and at the same time make sure that they're excited about it and we're hoping that they'll wanna go out and pick it up."
Labonte also talked about ALL THAT REMAINS's musical diversity and the band's desire to establish its own identity.
There's some bands that do one thing, and this isn't a knock on anyone… But, you know, look, LAMB OF GOD is already a band," he said. "We're not gonna be the next SLAYER — there's already a SLAYER, there's already a LAMB OF GOD, there's already all these really heavy bands that really do a great job and nail it, and that's their thing. But for us, we're never gonna be that band. So we really try to just incorporate as much stuff that we enjoy into the music that we write. And some people dislike that, and usually the kids that are into metal are, like, 'Oh, if it's not metal, it sucks.' So we're used to that. But at the same time, we're not trying to be someone else — we're trying to be us. And you'll see a lot of people out there [say], 'Well, they're trying to be this band,' and then you'll hear from someone else, 'They're trying to be this band,' and those two bands don't sound anything alike, and that, to me, is a good thing. When you can't nail down a band that we sound like, or if you say, 'This song sounds like this band,' but then another song on the same record sounds like a completely different band, I think that's kind of a good thing, because it really shows that we're not like other bands, we're not like another band; we're not trying to be someone else. We are ALL THAT REMAINS; we are the band that we are; we're gonna keep doing stuff that we dig. Hopefully people dig it, but we're not trying to be someone that we're not; we're just trying to be us and write songs that we like."
A new ALL THAT REMAINS song titled "Fuck Love" was released last week via the band's official YouTube channel and can be streamed below. The track is expected to appear on ALL THAT REMAINS's upcoming album, which was reportedly produced by THE ACACIA STRAIN guitarist Daniel "DL" Laskiewicz and will arrive in early 2019.
ALL THAT REMAINS has already performed "Fuck Love" and another new song, "Wasteland", at some of the band's recent live shows.
"Madness" was released in April 2017 via Razor & Tie in the U.S. and Eleven Seven Music in Europe. The disc was recorded at West Valley Studios in Woodland Hills, California with producer Howard Benson, who has previously worked with such acts as MOTÖRHEAD, PAPA ROACH, THREE DAYS GRACE, FLYLEAF, P.O.D.mand HALESTORM.

ARTILLERY To Release 'The Face Of Fear' Album In NovemberDanish thrash metal veterans ARTILLERY will release their ninth studio album, "The Face Of Fear", on November 16 via Metal Blade. The follow-up to 2016's "Penalty By Perception" is ARTILLERY's third effort with the current lineup.
The official video for "The Face Of Fear" title track can be seen below.
The lyrics are ARTILLERY as you know them, with subjects concerning the destruction of mankind, double standards, abuse and the looming worst-case scenarios. "The Face Of Fear" was recorded with longtime producer Søren Andersen at Medley Studios. It's Søren's fifth time at the helm, and once again he manages to deliver a monster production.
Søren comments: "Pure and raw! Some of the material of this album was originally written in the early '80s, and that inspired us to go old school this time. Not too many layers, just classic ARTILLERY thrash metal... And Bastholm [singer Michael Bastholm Dahl] is better than ever on this one. This is a no-filler album, created together with the band. I'm really proud of the final result and I hope everyone will enjoy it as much as I do!"
b>ARTILLERY comments about the video for "The Face Of Fear": "Most of the scenes for the video were shot at Amager strand park right outside of Copenhagen. And the live scenes go back to when the band visited Japan and played at the Thrash Dominations together with EXODUS, VOIVOD and SANCTUARY. The video was shot by the band's good friend Terkel Christensen, who also did the video 'When The Magic is Gone', from the last album, 'Penalty By Perception'. The song is about dealing the end of man by himself. We create our own phobia about the destruction of the world, but remain disrespectful to the globe."
"The Face Of Fear" track listing:
01. The Face Of Fear
02. Crossroads To Conspiracy
03. New Rage
04. Sworn Utopia
05. Through The Ages Of Atrocity
06. Thirst For The Worst
07. Pain
08. Under Water (instumental)
09. Preaching To The Converted
10. Mind Of No Return (limited first-edition bonus track / re-recorded song from ARTILLERY's first demo from 1982)
11. Doctor Evil (limited first-edition bonus track / 2018 version)
Since the release of "Penalty By Perception" — which won the band four Danish Metal Awards in 2016 (best album, best band, best production and honorary prize) — ARTILLERY has toured around the world, including Europe, South America and parts of Asia. For the rest of 2018, there will be time for Copenhell's Metal Cruise and a Denmark tour, plus a release party on High Voltage. 2019 will include tours in Europe, South America and USA.
ARTILLERY lineup:
Michael Bastholm Dahl - Vocals
Michael Stützer - Guitars
Morten Stützer - Guitars

MADDER MORTEM: 'Liberator' Video ReleasedNorwegian alternative metallers MADDER MORTEM have released a music video for the song "Liberator". The track is taken from the band's seventh full-length album, "Marrow", which came out on September 21 via Dark Essence Records. The clip was created by the noted Romanian artist Costin Choireanu.
According to MADDER MORTEM, "Liberator" "is the declaration of intent from 'Marrow' — it's our call to arms. It's a reminder to not make yourself smaller to appease others, but to sink your teeth into life and bite off way more than you can chew. Never let them drag you back into line."
Regarding the video itself, and the collaboration with Chioreanu, who has a long-standing history with Dark Essence Records and the Norwegian music scene, MADDER MORTEM went on to say: "After seeing Costin Chioreanu's gorgeous artwork in the animated video for 'Far From Home', we really wanted to see what his take would be on a filmed video. Costin somehow managed to poke a hole in his incredibly busy schedule, and the video was shot in our home town of Nord-Odal over three hectic days. We wanted something different and unexpected and strange, and we love the surrealist feel of this video."
"Marrow" sees MADDER MORTEM hungrier and heavier than ever before. The eleven-track album is complex, covering a wide variety of genres and sounds that range from moments of folk/prog to avant-garde. From delicate ballads to harsh metal. Agnete M. Kirkevaag's dynamic and immensely powerful vocals, are, as always, at the fore on an album that is more doomy than its predecessor, "Red In Tooth And Claw", as well as being at times both heavier, and catchier.
b>"Marrow" is about "sticking to the essence of yourself. Your ideas, your thoughts, your values". It was produced by BP M. Kirkevaag and mastered by Peter In de Betou at Tailor Maid.
With artwork by the legendary artist Thore Hansen, "Marrow" will be available in digipak CD, digital, and limited-edition green vinyl gatefold LP formats.
"Marrow" track listing:
01. Untethered
02. Liberator
03. Moonlight Over Silver White
04. Until You Return
05. My Will Be Done
06. Far From Home
07. Marrow
08. White Snow, Red Shadows
09. Stumble On
10. Waiting To Fall
11. Tethered

BUCKCHERRY Begins Recording 'Warpaint' AlbumCalifornian rockers BUCKCHERRY have set "Warpaint" as the title of their new album, tentatively due in early 2019. Helming the sessions is producer Mike Plotnikoff, who previously worked with the band on 2005's platinum-certified "15" record.
Singer Josh Todd has uploaded a short video message on his Facebook page in which he revealed that he just finished laying down his vocals to the new disc's title cut. "It was so fun. It's such a ripping track," he said. "I had a lot of fun doing it. I always come here super pumped up and I leave here just exhausted. So [I'm] ready to go home and chill for tomorrow's day. And we're gonna get another song called 'Closer'. 'Warpaint' record is gonna be sick."
Earlier this month, Todd told the 105.7 The Point radio station that BUCKCHERRY wrote 30 songs for the follow-up to 2015's "Rock 'N' Roll". "We've been writing songs since November of last year, and we really molded it into something really great," he said.
Asked how they whittle down so many songs to just a 10-track album, BUCKCHERRY guitarist Stevie Dacanay (a.k.a. Stevie D.) said: "You kind of know. When you [are writing] the songs, it kind of takes a life of its own, and you can really kind of feel it if it's working or not. And if it is working, then we pursue it; if not, we kind of put it to the side right away."
n the recent "Gen-X" summer tour with P.O.D., LIT and ALIEN ANT FARM, BUCKCHERRY was playing two new songs, "The Vacuum" and "Chaos Is The Ladder", both of which are expected to appear on the upcoming LP.
BUCKCHERRY's new disc will mark the band's first release since the departures of guitarist Keith Nelson and drummer Xavier Muriel and addition of Kevin Roentgen and Sean Winchester, respectively.

JEFF SCOTT SOTO Welcomes Back STEVE PERRY With 'What Was' Cover (Audio)Former YNGWIE MALMSTEEN and current SONS OF APOLLO vocalist Jeff Scott Soto has released a cover version of the song "What Was" from ex-JOURNEY singer Steve Perry.
Soto said: "In celebration of Steve Perry's return to the music world with his new album 'Traces', my longtime friends at Frontiers came to me with the idea of throwing out a cover of one of SP's tunes as a 'welcome back' of sorts.
"As this idea came about a week before I was scheduled to embark on the current SONS OF APOLLO tour, I had little time to put this together, so I called on my VERY busy friend Alessandro Del Vecchio and asked if he could help me put something together. He enthusiastically squeezed me in and quickly knocked out the music to a song he had suggested called 'What Was'. This song was only available on the 'Greatest Hits + Five Unreleased' album.
"And so here it is, a thank you, welcome back and celebration for Mr. Perry's return… I owe so much to this man and the influence he gave me as a singer, I only hope I did this song justice for you all to enjoy!"
b>Jeff Scott Soto's career spans over 30 years. He was first introduced to the public as the vocalist for guitar virtuoso Yngwie Malmsteen's iconic first two solo albums before going on to front the esteemed hard rock band TALISMAN. He is also one of the vocalists for the wildly popular TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA, the lead vocalist for supergroup W.E.T. (featuring JSS alongside members of ECLIPSE and WORK OF ART), creative visionary for the more metal-leaning SOTO, and frontman for the new supergroup, SONS OF APOLLO (which also features Mike Portnoy, Derek Sherinian, Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal and Billy Sheehan), among many other musical activities he has been and is involved in. He also held a stint fronting Rock And Roll Hall Of Famers JOURNEY and was one of the vocalists for the officially sanctioned QUEEN tribute QUEEN EXTRAVAGANZA. His incredible voice has led to many invitations to do guest lead or background vocals on a multitude of albums, including, but not limited to, STRYPER, Joel Hoekstra, SAIGON KICK, Fergie Frederiksen, Lita Ford, STEELHEART and many more.
In 1994, he released his first solo outing "Love Parade", followed by the acclaimed "Prism" (2002), "Lost In The Translation" (2005), "Beautiful Mess" (2009), "Damage Control" (2012) and "Retribution" (2017). 1

Side A contains the haunting live version of the band's classic "Ghost Of Perdition" (live), while the previously released "Sorceress" (live) can be found on Side B.
OPETH guitarist Fredrik Åkesson recently told FaceCulture that the band has commenced the songwriting process for the follow-up to 2016's "Sorceress" album. "We're very much into the demoing," he said. "I've recorded a lot of solos so far. And Mikael [Åkerfeldt, guitar/vocals] has almost already written 12 songs for the new album, so we have more material than enough for an album. But I think we will at least try to finish 15 songs. So hopefully we'll work on song ideas very soon."
According to Åkesson, OPETH is hoping to release its 13th studio album in the first quarter of 2019. "I'm not sure if it's gonna happen, but we're working towards that, and the songwriting goes very well," he said. "Mikael has been very productive these last… since January, basically. We did the last touring for 'Sorceress' in November."
Regarding the musical direction of the new OPETH material, Fredrik said: "Compared to the last three albums, I would say, if I can reveal anything, this album is more complex, more energetic, and I think it's gonna be something."
Åkesson went on to say that OPETH always tries to explore new ground with every album and it isn't overly concerned with how its music will be received by its fans. "The first filter is the guys in the band, I would say," he said. "If we enjoy it, we can only hope that people that enjoy listening to OPETH will enjoy it; that would be nice. But if we're happy with it, we will release it; it's quite simple. I think this is kind of a Mikael question in a way, since he's the creative director for the band, so I know, speaking for him a little bit here, that he always tries to push everything into something new. And I think people will enjoy this new album."
"Sorceress" was released in September 2016. For the band's first effort for Nuclear Blast via OPETH's imprint label Moderbolaget Records, the group returned to Rockfield Studios in Wales, also home to pivotal releases from QUEEN, RUSH and JUDAS PRIEST, where the Swedes had tracked "Pale Communion" in 2014 with Tom Dalgety.

RIOT V: 'Caught In The Witch's Eye' Lyric VideoThe official lyric video for the song "Caught In The Witch's Eye" from RIOT V, the band featuring members of legendary metal pioneers RIOT, can be seen below. The track is taken from RIOT V's latest album, "Armor Of Light", which came out on April 27 via Nuclear Blast.
Donnie Van Stavern, a longtime collaborator with RIOT founder Mark Reale, plays bass in RIOT V and is one of its chief songwriters.
After Reale passed away in 2012, the surviving members of RIOT announced they would continue as RIOT V. They recruited singer Todd Michael Hall and released the critically acclaimed "Unleash The Fire" in 2014.
The band commented: "We offer a conceptual lyric video from our latest album 'Armor Of Light' on the great Nuclear Blast Records, 'Caught In The Witch's Eye'. Donnie Van Stavern composed the music and Todd wrote the lyrics about a witch that wants to sell your soul to the devil type of tale; she promises to take away your troubles, but you'll end up hating the price you have to pay!"
sked in a new interview with Lords Of Metal if he was afraid the name change would cause a bit of confusion in the metal community, Van Stavern said: "Well, maybe it does a little bit, but it was a conscious choice of us to do so. We didn't have to do it as there were no legal issues whatsoever as we own the band name, but even though Mike [Flyntz, guitar] and I had been in the band longer than anybody, I felt that this was the fifth chapter of the band. Let's convey to the people that we not only trying to live on the legacy of the old RIOT, but that we are a band for the future. Chapter one was the period with Guy Speranza, chapter two was with Rhett Forrester, chapter three featured Tony Moore, chapter four were the Mike DiMeo years and now chapter five features Todd Michael Hall as the RIOT vocalist. Therefore I thought it would be cool to add the 'V' to the logo to clarify that this is the fifth chapter of the band. It's a name change, but in a way it isn't, as it just means that a new chapter in the book is written. It don't think it causes any confusion as the people know that it's still the same band and as always we still stand for great power metal music."
Van Stavern also talked about the songwriting process for "Armor Of Light", saying: "We started after we did our last tour for 'Unleash The Fire'. We first had to get some legal and personal stuff done, and once we got that out of the way, we started writing for the new record. I myself am always writing music, however, and I had already many song ideas available. About six months after the tour, we really started the writing process for 'Armor Of Light' and exchanging the ideas that we had. We knew that we needed a record that would appeal to the older RIOT fans as well as the new fans that we're trying to acquire. Even though it's an older band with a lot of history, we wanted to make a fresh record. I wrote songs in the style that I'm known for which is reminiscent to the 'Thundersteel' style, while Mike channeled his gears in the DiMeo years, which is a little bit more in the DEEP PURPLE vein. We had that conscious effort going to combine our best songs and we had a lot to choose from. We picked the tunes that we felt that everybody would like and which would appeal to the RIOT fans. We wanted to deliver a very aggressive record, but melodic at the same time."

SHARON OSBOURNE Slams AEG Over OZZY Lawsuit: 'Bite On Our Assholes'Sharon Osbourne fired back at Philip Anschutz, founder of concert promoter AEG, after her husband, Ozzy Osbourne, dropped his antitrust lawsuit against the company.
In the filing, Ozzy said that he had tentatively agreed to perform at London's O2 Arena on February 11, 2019 as part of his "No More Tours 2" farewell run, but he claimed that AEG added a provision stating that if Osbourne played an indoor arena within 25 miles of Los Angeles that was promoted by competitor Live Nation during the tour, he would have to play the AEG-owned Staples Center as well.
After AEG issued a statement claiming a "victory" following the dismissal of the lawsuit, which came after the company agreed to end its practice of blocking artists from playing certain venues, Sharon slammed Anschutz by intentionally misspelling his name and telling him to "bite on our assholes."
Sharon Osbourne's statement in full:
We know Mr. Anshultz (aka 'Daddy Big Bucks') is living in his billionaire bubble, but the fact is that Ozzy sued AEG for the right to perform at the O2 in London. We won the case and Ozzy's show at the O2 went on sale on September 5 for a show next year (February 11, 2019) — so in my world that means we won the case. Ozzy is playing the O2 without having to play the Staples Center, which is all that mattered to us. From the start of this dialogue in February, this has been a battle about respect for the artists and their personal preferences. It wasn't then and isn't now a battle between promoters, which is how this is being portrayed by the recent statement from AEG claiming this as a 'victory.'
"To say that this 'suit was instigated by Azoff and paid for by MSG and Live Nation,' and that 'it was hatched on the back of an artist who we believe had no idea what he was biting off,' is untrue and disrespectful to Ozzy, myself and the entire team working on this tour. Whatever differences you have with Irving Azoff, don't presume you know who instigated the lawsuit or you know anything about Ozzy Osbourne, because you obviously don't know anything about Ozzy's history or mine. So stop with your hubbildy, bubbuldy BULLSHIT and your little pissing contest with Live Nation and MSG.
"Regarding the allegations in the AEG statement that this 'suit was a transparent public relations ploy,' if that was indeed the case, why then did AEG rush out a statement of victory? While we, throughout this process, until now have only made one statement around the initial filing.
"Ozzy's preference was to perform at The Forum, a venue that has been a part of his music history for more than 46 years. From the start, this was not a battle solely for Ozzy, as much as one for other artists who were being forced to abide by these rules and regulations. Let's not all forget why you're here... the artists.
"The only thing remotely interesting in your statement was your pitiful attempt at humor with your quote that Ozzy 'had no idea what he was biting off.' If you're interested, Ozzy and I have got something nice for you bite on... our assholes... see ya loser!"
AEG previously told Billboard in a statement that the company "has always worked hard to put artists first. At the same time, we must respond to the actions of those we compete with, specifically Live Nation and Madison Square Garden. Fighting for a level playing field is fair competition at its core."
Osbourne wanted a judge to invalidate the provision in his contract that forces him to perform at Staples.
Variety reported that AEG's O2/Staples requirement came about in response to a challenge from MSG that found the company refusing to book acts into Madison Square Garden if they played at AEG's Staples Center in Los Angeles instead of the MSG-operated Forum. In response, AEG informed agents and promoters that acts who perform at The Forum instead of Staples will not be booked at London's O2 Arena.
Ozzy's final world tour is slated to last until 2020. 3

PAPA ROACH Frontman On Upcoming Album: 'There's Bangers In There'PAPA ROACH frontman Jacoby Shaddix spoke to Rock Sound about the progress of the recording sessions for the follow-up to the band's 2017 album "Crooked Teeth". He said (see video below): "We did work with the same producers [Nicholas 'RAS' Furlong and Colin Brittain] that did 'Crooked Teeth'. So this is like the follow-up and it feels great. We played a bunch of tracks for our friends in BEARTOOTH and some other folks last night, and everybody was feeling it. So it's exciting to play new music for people and they're, like, vibing it. So it felt good. Unless they're totally bullshitting us. And if that's the case, they are great bullshitters."
Elaborating on PAPA ROACH's decision to re-team with the "Crooked Teeth" producers on the upcoming disc, Jacoby said: "We have a rhythm going with these guys. We were supposed to go on tour with OF MICE & MEN at the beginning of the 'Crooked Teeth' record cycle, and Austin [Carlile, then-OF MICE & MEN singer] had gotten really sick. And so the tour was canceled. So we were, like, 'All right. Well, if we're not gonna be out on the road, let's go create.' So we went in and we created five or six songs then. And then we went back in June and July and took another stab at it, and we have 12 songs that are… There's bangers in there. We're gonna go back and do one more track and see if we can beat one of the songs. And we'll have a full-length record ready to go. And so either later this year or early next year for a release."
Guitarist Jerry Horton told Morgan Richards Interviews that PAPA ROACH's new material sees him and his bandmates "really trying to explore more dynamics and not just be a wall of guitars all the time."
Shaddix described the musical direction of the new PAPA ROACH songs to the Lazer 103.3 radio station as "a pretty bold evolution," saying that the tracks that have been laid down so far are "so inspiring and just unique and different and rocking and anthemic and passionate."

SLASH On LEMMY: 'The Planet Is A Lesser Place Without Him'Slash has paid tribute to Lemmy, saying "the planet is a lesser place without him." The GUNS N' ROSES guitarist told Revolver: "Lemmy was such a fucking awesome individual. We were good friends since we met in 1987, which is when GUNS first went to London. MOTÖRHEAD was doing a record. We went down to meet them for the first time and we all hit it off. Lemmy and I kept in touch and became good friends over the years.
"He was such a great example of what rock and roll was all about," Slash added. "You can put on all kinds of labels — heavy metal, hard rock, whatever — but he embodied the spirit of what rock and roll is. For years and years, I could be anywhere in the world and somehow Lemmy was there. The planet is a lesser place without him. I really miss him a lot."
Lemmy was the featured guest on the song "Doctor Alibi", which appears on Slash's 2010 self-titled solo album.
In a March 2010 interview with Ultimate-Guitar.com, Slash stated about the experience of recording "Doctor Alibi" with Lemmy, "That was another great moment; having Lemmy come down. Because Lemmy was one of those guys that I so looked up to and I still do. When I was a kid, I was one of those Lemmy fans that would bow in his presence. And we got to be friends and he's always sort of taken me under his wing kind of thing and he's always been really cool.
Lemmy is one of those kinds of guys who can have a real serious attitude if he wants to," he continued. "He's actually a really nice guy in general. I always thought he was sort of intimidating but he was always really nice to me. And I've had a chance to work with him; I've played on one of their records ['March or Die'] and I've done a lot of gigs with 'em. I asked him if he'd be interested and I sent him the thing and he got it right away and he came down to the studio... We had bottle of Jack Daniel's and a couple bags of potato chips and it reminded me of when I used to show up at sessions. It was great."
Lemmy, who celebrated his 70th birthday on December 24, 2015, learned two days later that he was afflicted with an aggressive form of cancer. He died two days later, on December 28, 2015, at his home in Los Angeles.
The MOTÖRHEAD frontman had dealt with several health issues over the past few years, including heart trouble, forcing him to cut back on his famous smoking and Jack Daniel's habits.

MEGADETH Announces First-Ever 'Megacruise'MEGADETH has announced plans to stage the first-ever Megacruise in 2019. No further details have been revealed except that it will launch in the Pacific Ocean next year.
You can join the Megacruise mailing list and be the first to know about artist additions, events and more.
MEGADETH leader Dave Mustaine told "Rock Talk With Mitch Lafon" back in June that the release of the band's next album would coincide with the launch of a new MEGADETH-curated event, to be held in at least two separate installments over the course of several months. "We've got a huge festival that we're gonna be announcing," he said. "It's really a big deal. It's kind of the equivalent of Gigantour, but it's a much fresher idea. We've got that set up in about 10 cities in April, and then we're gonna do it again for a three-day weekend in the middle of the year, and we're gonna do probably about another 10 of those dates at the latter part of the year."
MEGADETH's upcoming effort will mark the group's first release to feature drummer Dirk Verbeuren, who officially joined the band more than two years ago.
016's "Dystopia" was MEGADETH's first album with guitarist Kiko Loureiro, who was previously best known for his work with ANGRA.

KISS – Spin The Bottle Tribute Album To Receive Deluxe Reissue Under New TitleAn incredible line-up of world-class musicians and vocalists gathered together, under the helm of Grammy award-winning producers Bob Kulick and Bruce Bouillet, to recreate 11 classics from the catalog of one of music’s greatest, best-loved bands, the icons of theatrical shock rock, the mighty KISS. Originally released as Spin The Bottle in 2004, the resulting album has received a complete makeover this year and will be reissued October 19th with all new artwork. Now titled, Pure Fire - The Ultimate KISS Tribute, the album features unique combinations of A-list performers including former KISS member Bruce Kulick plus some of the bands biggest friends and fans including Tommy Shaw (Styx), Lemmy Kilmister (Motörhead), Dee Snider (Twisted Sister), Steve Lukather (Toto), Chris Jericho (Fozzy), Buzz Osbourne (The Melvins), Dug Pinnick (King's X), C.C. DeVille (Poison) and so many more.
This special multi-media edition also comes with a bonus making-of DVD that features interviews and stories from the artists, including those who are no longer with us, recorded 14 years ago - it’s like a beautifully preserved time capsule showing what these artists looked like, sang like and played like, and what they thought about KISS back then. Hear producer Bob Kulick, Tommy Shaw, Tony Franklin, Aynsley Dunbar, Robin McAuley, Robben Ford , Lemmy , Greg Bissonette, Doug Aldrich, Kip Winger, Carmine Appice, Mike Porcaro, Fred Coury, and many others share their personal stories and recollections about Paul, Gene, Ace & Peter. No self-respecting KISS fan should be without this release.
“After being friends with KISS, knowing them for years, playing on Paul’s solo record, it was my pleasure to play on this tribute CD. And also working with Bob Kulick was great fun. I thought it came out great. It ROCKS!” - Carmine Appice (Vanilla Fudge/ Beck, Bogert, Appice)
“I really liked the new arrangement they had and we screamed through it pretty fast. Wild combinations of players and singers, and in the end a very new twist to some KISS classics.” - Steve Lukather (Toto)
“KISS is and forever will be the most exciting band in the land!” - Kip Winger (Winger)
“What fun it is to do anything with Bob. Giving KISS some love. I tried to do Gene proud. We’re all parasites, baby!!” - Dug Pinnick (King’s X)
“I was thrilled to play on this record, especially with Mark Slaughter and Ryan Roxie, with whom I have played before. The song ‘Cold Gin’ was special for me because of one morning back in 1990 when I was awoken by a phone call from Gene Simmons inviting me to come up on stage to play a song with them that night. It was indeed a great moment for me!” - Phil Soussan (Ozzy Osbourne)
“Such an honor to be included then and now, in this list of immensely talented musicians on this KISS tribute. Put your KISS face on and turn it up. Enjoy!!!” - Robin McAuley. (MSG)
“Some seriously great performances by an insane bunch! Being involved on many of the assorted songs, I had the pleasure of enjoying all the different folks and the cool and varied interpretations they all were bringing to the table.” - David Glen Eisley (Giuffria/Dirty White Boy)

TOURNIQUET: Lyric Video For 'Sinister Scherzo' Feat. TIM 'RIPPER' OWENS, CHRIS POLANDU.S. thrash/heavy metal veterans TOURNIQUET have released a lyric video for the single "Sinister Scherzo". The track, which features guest appearances by former JUDAS PRIEST and ICED EARTH singer Tim "Ripper" Owens and ex-MEGADETH guitarist Chris Poland, is taken from the band's forthcoming album, "Gazing At Medusa", which is due mid-October via TOURNIQUET's own label, Pathogenic Records.
Drummer and songwriter Ted Kirkpatrick comments: "We're thrilled with the response to the first two singles. This album took considerably longer to record than expected, but we feel the fans will find it to be worth the wait. It's been great to work with Tim and Chris on this one."

SOULFLY's MAX CAVALERA Talks Corruption In Brazilian PoliticsSOULFLY mainman Max Cavalera spoke to United Rock Nations about the inspiration for his new song "Evil Empowered", taken from the band's upcoming 11th album, "Ritual". "It's about the corruption of leaders and about every leader that gets elected, pretty much, with the exception of very few, gets this corruption disease and they just use their power for evil means instead of for good, instead of for the people," he said (hear audio below). "Brazil has been a victim [of] that for many years now, since I was a kid. We only had one good president, and he was murdered after they took power. And it just goes to show, if somebody's good, they kill you; they don't want good people involved. It's the system; it's [how] the whole society, the whole system works. It's pretty much similar around the world, I think, everywhere.
"I'm going to Brazil in November. I love to play there, so I get to see firsthand how the place is, how the vibe of the people is," he continued. "My mother lives there, and I talk to her all the time.
"It's too bad, 'cause it's a really great country, I think, with a lot of possibilities to be really, really good," Max added. "And it's kind of been wasted with corruption and just doing the wrong thing — instead of helping the country, they do the opposite. And it kind of sucks. Hopefully one day it will be better."
"Ritual" will be released on October 19 via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. The follow-up to 2015's "Archangel" was produced, recorded and mixed by Josh Wilbur (KILLER BE KILLED, LAMB OF GOD, GOJIRA). Cover artwork was painted by artist Eliran Kantor (TESTAMENT, ICED EARTH, SODOM). Additional booklet art was handled by Marcelo Vasco (SLAYER, HATEBREED, KREATOR), who also handled the package design. The album features multiple guests, including Randy Blythe (LAMB OF GOD) and Ross Dolan (IMMOLATION).

Former JUDAS PRIEST Guitarist K.K. DOWNING: 'I Never Found GLENN TIPTON To Be Particularly Easy To Get Along With'In a brand new interview with The Guardian, former JUDAS PRIEST guitarist Ken "K.K." Downing revealed that he actually sent two resignation letters to his bandmates more than seven years ago when he decided to quit the legendary heavy metal group. The first is described in the article as "a graceful exit note, implying a smooth retirement from music," while the second was "angrier, laying out all of his frustrations with specific parties."
Downing told The Guardian that he believes the second letter was "a key reason" he wasn't invited to rejoin PRIEST following Glenn Tipton's decision to retire from the road due to his battle with Parkinson's disease.
K.K., who is promoting his newly released autobiography, "Heavy Duty: Days And Nights In Judas Priest", also said the other members of PRIEST have tried to remove him from his ongoing position as a co-director of the PRIEST organization, a role he's unwilling to relinquish.
Despite all the bad blood, Downing said he hopes he and the other members can repair their relationship before it's too late. "If something happened to me, I'd like to think the guys would come to my funeral, and vice versa," he said. "You never know what's going to happen."
b>K.K. announced his retirement from PRIEST in April 2011. He has since been replaced by Richie Faulkner, who was once the guitarist in the backing group for Lauren Harris, daughter of IRON MAIDEN bassist Steve Harris.
Downing has called Faulkner his "clone" and revealed that he "never found" Tipton "to be particularly easy to get along with. Very early on, I was fully aware of the limited conditions under which he operated," K.K. wrote in his book. "If you were going to relate to him, you would do so entirely on his terms."
"Heavy Duty: Days And Nights In Judas Priest" was released on September 18 via Da Capo Press. The book was co-written by the Scottish author and journalist Mark Eglinton, whose previous collaborations include "Official Truth, 101 Proof" with Rex Brown of PANTERA and "Confessions Of A Heretic" with BEHEMOTH's Adam "Nergal" Darski. 12

Re-Armed's third studio album, The Era of Precarity, was released in the fall of 2016 and it’s the band’s most acclaimed release so far. The band toured for the first time in Japan and Spain to support the release. In the fall of 2018, after the numerous tours and shows on behalf of the third album, the band is releasing the new single “Built to Last” via Finland's Inverse Records, introducing their newer line-up with three guitars. The band comments on the new single:
"The music is more melody-oriented than before, among the kick-ass attitude. Since the last release we have got two new members, meaning we have three guitarists right now, so writing and producing needed some extra brainstorming. The message is about positivity, regarding mankind, that a light might shine at the end of the tunnel and hope is all we have left. We ended up with a very anthem vibe chorus on this one, which makes this a killer track.”
Lineup 2018:

Jouni Matilainen - lead vocals
Juhana Heinonen - bass, backing vocals
Oskari Niekka - guitars, backing vocals
Allan Välimaa - guitars
