METALLICA: Pro-Shot Video Of 'Blackened' Performance From WinnipegProfessionally filmed video footage of METALLICA performing the song "Blackened" on September 13 at Bell MTS Place in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada can be seen below.
According to CBC News, METALLICA's concert in Winnipeg set an attendance record, with more than 17,000 fans watching the band perform at Bell MTS Place.
METALLICA broke its own arena attendance record, previously set in 2009 when 16,130 people bought tickets.
The September 13 METALLICA show, promoted by Live Nation, was set up in the round, with the floor open for general admission standing room with no seats.
s previously reported, METALLICA's September 6 concert at the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska was dubbed the heaviest ever by the Lincoln Journal Star, with a "dynamic weight" of up to 240,000 pounds.
Some 15,000 fans attended the record-setting show, with the five-year-old building's roof holding up under the tonnage which hung from the arena's rigging grid and steel beams attached to the major trusses. What made that even more impressive was that the stage was in the middle of the arena, so all the production gear, sound and lighting hung in a circle in the middle of the building.
The setup took less than five hours to complete — far less than the nearly 10 hours it took to get everything ready at Minneapolis's Target Center two days earlier. Venue manager Tom Lorenz explained: "That was a desire we had during the design phase, about having the structural capacity to hang the biggest shows and to have the building really fitted for concerts… Not every building will be able to put up all of [METALLICA's] show. We were able to do it well and do it fast."
METALLICA is in the back half of its three-year, 134-city "WorldWired" tour in support of its most recent release, 2016's "Hardwired... To Self-Destruct". 1

EKTOMORF Covers METALLICA's 'Hardwired'Hungarian metallers EKTOMORF will release a brand new two-track digital single in October. The single, which was recorded in one day in early September at No Silence Studio in Hungary, will feature a new EKTOMORF song as well as a cover version of METALLICA's "Hardwired".
Video footage from the studio sessions can be seen below.
EKTOMORF's latest album, "Fury", came out in February via AFM. The effort marked the band's first release since the departures of Tamás Schrottner (guitar), Szabolcs Murvai (bass) and Róbert Jaksa (drums) and addition of Simon Szebasztián, Csaba Zahorán and Dániel Szabó, respectively.
EKTOMORF was founded in 1993 in Mezökovacsháza, Hungary by Zoltán "Zoli" Farkas. The band's breakthrough came when EKTOMORF started its collaboration with Danish producer Tue Madsen in 2003. Madsen helped the group to find a modern and powerful sound that EKTOMORF has expanded upon since the release of 2004's "Destroy".

LEAH Unveils “Edge Of Your Sword” Lyric Video Featuring BLIND GUARDIAN, ORPHANED LAND, DELAIN MembersSymphonic/Celtic vocalist Leah - described affectionately by her fans as "the metal Enya" - recently announced the release of her upcoming full-length album, The Quest, out Friday, October 5th via Inner Wound Recordings. The album features a stronger Celtic and Fantasy connection in comparison to her previous release, Kings & Queens, as well as prog rock elements and ethereal ambiance, combined with traditional symphonic metal elements. A new lyric video for “Edge Of Your Sword” is available below. Preorder the album at this location .
Leah says about the track: "This track was interesting to write... it was inspired by a mood, more than anything else - medieval rock vibes with a bit of spice. I hope those vibes get passed onto the listener! Some of that spice is attributed to Chen Balbus (Orphaned Land) who added the Middle Eastern saz on the track, which gave it a really cool and unexpected flavour! Also on the track is Barend Courbois (Blind Guardian) playing bass, Timo Somers (Delain) playing rhythm guitars (with an epic solo!), and Sander Zoer (ex-Delain) on Drums and percussion. Oliver Philipps (Everon, Phantasma) added a ton of orchestration which really beefed the whole sound up.
“My part in it was composing the song, playing a lot of the keys, harps, synths, arrangements, lyrics, and of course vocals. I was actually scared out of my mind about that high note in the last chorus! I knew I could technically execute it, but was mentally blocked for some time about it. I had to do weird things in the vocal booth to overcome my vocal mental block, such as drawing an arrow pointing down on a piece of paper that I could look at, also using physical gestures when I went to sing it, such as pointing to the ground with my hands. The reason is because when you go to sing a high note, most singers tend to tense up and squeeze their vocal chords up, which make a horrible tone and tense up the voice. So, to overcome that default tendency, I had to convince my brain that I was actually singing lower and it would get easier, not harder. And when that note came out, it actually was a piece of cake! Amazing how the mind works!"
The album was mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Amaranthe, Evergrey) and musicians on the album include Troy Donockley (Nightwish), Timo Somers (Delain), Chen Balbus (Orphaned Land) and Barend Courbois (Blind Guardian).
The concept for The Quest is very simple: we're all on a journey, and sometimes we lose our way. There are adventures, wildernesses, treasures, monsters, looters, people out to send us down the wrong path. Through it all, we must grow in wisdom and experience, find our compass once again and find our way back to the true path in order to reach our full potential: our destiny.
The Quest tracklisting
"The Quest"
"Edge of Your Sword"
"Lion Arises"
"Heir"
"Ruins of Illusion"
"Labyrinth"
"Abyss"
"Oblivion (Between Two Worlds)"
"Ghost Upon a Throne"

GÖSTA BERLINGS SAGA Streaming New Song "The Shortcomings Of Efficiency"Swedish progressive rock instrumentalists Gösta Berlings Saga are streaming the new track "The Shortcomings Of Efficiency", featured on their upcoming fifth album, Et Ex, out on October 12th via InsideOutMusic. Listen to the song below, and pre-order the album here.
The music of Gösta Berlings Saga is an incredibly dynamic Nordic instrumental adventure, tilting from melodic, starkly beautiful lines shimmering like an aurora borealis over the desolate Arctic tundra, to powerful and aggressive riffs reminiscent of glacier calves crashing into rugged Scandinavian fjords. Over the years the band’s music has been compared to King Crimson, Goblin and Radiohead, mixed into their very own and peculiar sonic universe.
Gösta Berlings Saga was formed in 2000 in the Stockholm suburb of Vällingby, taking its bandname from one of the most famous works in Swedish literature, the debut novel of Swedish author Selma Lagerlöf, which was published in 1891. To date GBS have released four albums as follows: Tid Är Ljud (translated “Time Is Sound”) in 2006, Detta Har Hänt (translated “This Has Happened”) in 2009, Glue Works in 2011 and most recently Sersophane in late 2016.
Tracklisting:

Watch KORN Rehearse For 'Follow The Leader' 20th-Anniversary ShowsVideo footage of the members of KORN rehearsing for their three very special shows in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the band's "Follow The Leader" album can be seen below.
While it was initially assumed that the band would perform the LP from front to back at those shows, only "most" of the record was played. Back in June, guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer explained to KLOS 95.5 DJ Full Metal Jackie: "There's some songs that we did collaborations — we [had guest appearances by] Tre [Trevant Hardson] from THE PHARCYDE, which is a hip-hop group; Ice Cube — everybody knows Ice Cube; and Fred [Durst] from LIMP BIZKIT. So those are the songs that are, like, 'Okay, well, we can't really recreate that.' But we're gonna play a handful of the songs that people haven't heard and maybe we haven't played in 20 years."
The shows took place on September 12 at The Masonic in San Francisco, September 13 at the Palladium in Los Angeles, and September 15 at the Pearl Theater in Las Vegas.
The San Francisco concert marked KORN singer Jonathan Davis's first public appearance since the passing of his estranged wife. Deven Davis died on August 17 at the age of 39. The former girl-on-girl porn star's cause of death has not yet been revealed. However, she reportedly struggled with sobriety and substance abuse throughout her life.
b>Munky told Full Metal Jackie that he looks back fondly on the "Follow The Leader" period of KORN's career. "Because we were really young, and it really was the first bit of money that we started to see from so many years of hard work," he said. "And we just really had a lot of fun. And musically, we kind of experimented with collaborations. We were in a real studio, in North Hollywood, in the middle of town. Because we recorded our first two records with [producer] Ross Robinson up at Indigo Ranch, and that was so remote and removed from anything, and that's how he liked it. But once we had the freedom and the money and the record label support to get into a real studio and have, like, a real beer budget…
"I think, honestly, the making of that album was something like 30 thousand dollars in alcohol by the time it was all done," he continued. "It was fun; that showed you how much fun we had. But, really, it was trying to figure out, 'Okay, we kind of did these two angst records. Let's kind of move into more of a song-based, lightened-mood.' Like, 'Let's have fun a little bit.' That's when we really started to kind of find who we were and make changes as far as song structures and listening to each other play. Like, 'Man, you're really good. I didn't realize it before.'"
Munky went on to say that "Follow The Leader" represented "a really special moment" in KORN's career. "That's when MTV was hitting, and everybody was watching all these boy bands," he said. "And then KORN topping the charts of all the 'TRL' stuff. I feel like it was a turning point. I feel like if you didn't like the whole boy-band thing and the pop thing, you had us over here."
According to Munky, "Follow The Leader"'s influence has reverberated beyond the hard rock world. "It's crazy" he said. "All these young hip-hop kids now are coming up to me, saying, 'Man, I love your band. Because of your band, I'm into this, this and this.' And they're all these young rapper kids with tattoos all over their faces — just super hardcore. So there's a whole new movement. So it's kind of nice for them to step up and give us an homage, I guess."
"Follow The Leader" was a massive commercial breakthrough for KORN, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard album chart, selling five million copies in the U.S. and yielding two hits singles in "Got The Life" and "Freak On A Leash".

YNGWIE MALMSTEEN: Video Of Santander, Spain ConcertFan-filmed video footage of Yngwie Malmsteen's September 21 performance at Escenario Santander in Santander, Spain can be seen below.
Yngwie will take part in the 2018 edition of the "Generation Axe" tour alongside Steve Vai, Zakk Wylde, Nuno Bettencourt and Tosin Abasi. Beginning on November 7 at the Fox Theater in Oakland, California, the run will return to markets where the inaugural tour was celebrated and hit several new cities for the first time.
Yngwie's latest album, "World On Fire", came out in June 2016 via King Records. He told Seymour Duncan about the CD: "I spent two years [working] on it, touring, recording, touring, recording. And that's much, much better, actually, in a way. Back in the day I would write the songs then rehearse them with some musicians, then go and do a backing track and we'd record it, mix it, learn the songs to go play them on tour, then do it all again. That way isn't necessarily conducive to making the best music, y'know what I mean? So in a very, very backhanded way, this weird twist of fate in the music industry has actually made it a more inspiring environment, for me at least. I can write anytime and record anytime. My recording studio is always open, 24 hours. I can just record when I want and it's a beautiful thing."
Asked what his latest record sounds like, Malmsteen said: "It's a Malmsteen record. [Laughs] But I would say it's a little different. First of all, I do all the lead vocals on it. Any time I did lead vocals in the past, I was singing blues stuff. This time I decided to do lead vocals in my style of songwriting, so it's different in that way. It's a very hard-hitting album and some parts are very advanced, very complicated. But it's a broad record. It's definitely a must-listen-to!"

PINK FLOYD - Rare P.U.L.S.E Promo EPK TV Interviews From 1995 StreamingPink Floyd's P.U.L.S.E live album was recorded during the European leg of the band's Division Bell Tour in 1994 and released in May 1995.
No parts of the songs were re-recorded in the studio, unlike the previous live album, Delicate Sound Of Thunder. However, the band and Guthrie fixed songs that had bad notes (as heard on some bootlegs) by lifting solos and corrected vocal lines from other performances as the band recorded most of the European leg.
On September 28th, Pink Floyd Records will release, for the first time on vinyl, A Foot In The Door - The Best Of Pink Floyd, a collection of classic Pink Floyd tracks, chosen by members of the band.
Originally released in 2011 on CD only, the artwork for this compilation is the last work of long-term Floyd designer, the late Storm Thorgerson. This is the perfect Pink Floyd album for both devoted fans and those discovering their music for the very first time.
The career-spanning compilation features some of the best-known album tracks from 1967 - 1994, including the band’s first UK Top 10 single "See Emily Play", and the iconic "Wish You Were Here", "Comfortably Numb", "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" and "High Hopes".
The tracks have been newly mastered for vinyl by longstanding Pink Floyd associate James Guthrie, with Joel Plante, and with lacquers cut by Bernie Grundman of Grundman Mastering in Los Angeles, California. The 2-LP version features the reinstated version of "Time", with the ringing alarm clocks at the start of the track restored, after being omitted on the CD release.
The original sleeve design, has been amended by Pink Floyd Creative Director Aubrey Powell of Hipgnosis and Peter Curzon, to include alternate versions of the photographs used in the original CD version. The album package comes in a gatefold outer sleeve, with two separate printed inner bags, and is pressed on heavyweight 180-gram vinyl.
Tracklisting:
LP1 Side A

Today, Gorod has dropped the technical, melodic masterwork "The Sentry" - the first single to be released from Aethra.
Vocalist Julien Deyres says, "The concept behind ‘The Sentry’ is that of worldwide myths and beliefs concerning the owl, and more specifically the barn owl. This nocturnal bird that is almost always associated with the moon in many different cultures is also generally considered as a guardian of the kingdom of the dead. This explains the title, and the lyrics are a global presentation of how human beings can perceive a same symbol in different places in the world.
“We chose to release this song first because we see it as a good introduction to the new material on this album. This track is ‘straight in your face’, groovy, fast, and also showcases a brand new melodic orientation in Gorod's music."
The album was produced and recorded by Gorod guitarist/mastermind Mathieu Pascal in his own Bud Studio, mixed at Dugout Studio by the outstanding Daniel Bergstrand (Meshuggah, Behemoth, Decapitated, In Flames) and mastered by Lawrence Mackrory at Obey Mastering (Decapitated, Nightrage). Watch an album teaser video below.
In comparison to Gorod's previous albums, the band sees Aethra as a profound progression in terms of production, songwriting and arrangements. Guitarist/producer Mathieu Pascal says, "We decided that I would be in charge only for the recording in my studio, and chose Daniel Bergstrand for the mixing and mastering, as we love his work for decades. It puts some pressure on me, firstly because I'm used to working alone with the production of Gorod albums. The tracks should be clear and perfect enough to be easily understood and included into the mix the way I imagined. But also, because I still feel like a newbie compared to Bergstrand and I just didn't want to look like an amateur job! Bergstrand and McCrory did an awesome job on this album, the sound is powerful but still natural and balanced."
Aethra tracklisting:
"Wolfsmond"
"Bekhten's Curse"
"Aethra"
"The Sentry"
"Hina"
"And The Moon Turned Black"
"Chandra And The Maiden"
"Goddess Of Dirt"
"Inexorable"
"A Light Unseen"
"The Sentry":
Teaser:
With Aethra, Gorod transports the listener to a tragic and melancholic universe - a completely new level of darkness - while preserving what Gorod considers their tried and true core sound: incomparable groove, remarkable dexterity, and relentless technicality. But all the while, the band never sacrifices earworm hooks and unforgettable riffage.
Vocalist Julien Deyres explains the concept behind Aethra, "The moon: a star, an allegory, a universal symbol that concerns all peoples and eras... this is the central theme of the lyrical concept of this album which is divided into ten texts that follow a form of parity in terms of genres: four titles are devoted to female lunar deities, four to male deities. The remaining two are respectively dealing with the universal symbolism of the owl and the star itself. The concept is basically a study of different cults associated with the moon through the ages and peoples. Some themes are treated in a purely narrative way, some others in a more philosophical or poetic way, but generally it remains a personal reading of each myth, which aims to awaken critical thought as much as evasion."
Mathieu Pascal adds, "The writing process was exceptionally short, only six weeks. I wanted more spontaneous and song-oriented music with clear and efficient structures. For the first time I tried to write the music always thinking stage-wise, always anticipating how every riff or lead would be perceived live, and of course how it could be performed."
As a live band through and through, Gorod plan to bring their trademark power and precision to North America on a full tour in support of Aethra. Before coming to the states, Gorod will tour in Europe and the UK with headliners Beyond Creation, as well as fellow support artists Entheos and Brought By Pain. AVENGED SEVENFOLD Releases New Version Of 'Mad Hatter' In Response To Fan ComplaintsAVENGED SEVENFOLD has released a new version of the song "Mad Hatter" in response to fan complaints over the original version's mix. The track was recorded for the "Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4" video game and was first made available online on September 17.
"Mad Hatter" is included on AVENGED SEVENFOLD's new EP, "Black Reign", which was issued on September 21. The effort contains all four songs the band has written and recorded for the "Call Of Duty: Black Ops" franchise.
After a number of AVENGED SEVENFOLD fans raised concerns about the initial "Mad Hatter" mix, singer M. Shadows took to Reddit to address the situation, saying that a corrected version, with "more clarity," will be uploaded to all the streaming services and made available to radio stations on Monday, September 24.
M. Shadows wrote: "Hey Guys and Gals - I hope you are all doing well. I just wanted to update you on a situation with 'Mad Hatter'. We saw some complaints about the mix and we totally agree with you! We were pushing the limits in a lot of different ways and once the compression of streaming services and radio got a hold of it the clarity become muddied. I heard it on the radio and was like 'Oh Shit!' The good news is we live in a world were you can quickly fix your mistakes and we have done just that. On Monday all streaming services and radio will switch to this new version with more clarity but we wanted you to get it here first. Check out this link. We hope you enjoy and have a great weekend."
b>"Mad Hatter" was recorded in Los Angeles this past March and co-produced by the band and Joe Barresi, who helmed AVENGED SEVENFOLD's critically acclaimed album "The Stage", including its Grammy-nominated title track.
"'Black Ops 4' looks insane and is something completely new for fans, so we felt that we should take a similar leap with the music and go for something bigger, darker and more cerebral," said M. Shadows.
About the "Mad Hatter" creative process, Shadows said: "Watching the initial trailers and looking at production sketches reminded me of the 'S-Town' podcast and its main protagonist, John B. McLemore, who was rumored to have suffered from mercury poisoning, or Mad Hatter disease. The idea of Mad Hatter and what it does to the brain is as frightening as the images we were shown. So I decided that the lyrics would shadow McLemore's life. The result is a thick-grooved song that's dynamic and has a weightiness to it."
"We have a very deep relationship with the team at Treyarch," he added. "We're proud to be part of the family and extremely excited for people to enjoy this next chapter and our contribution to it."
"As fans of the game and as world class musicians, AVENGED SEVENFOLD has demonstrated an innate ability to convey the emotion and raw power of the 'Call Of Duty' Zombies experience," said Jason Blundell, director of Zombies at Treyarch. "We're introducing fans to a new cast of characters in 'Black Ops 4' and delivering the biggest Zombies experience to date. With IX, we knew we needed something epic and A7X delivered."
"Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4" is published by Activision and developed by Treyarch with additional development support from Raven Software and PC development with Beenox.
"Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4" is scheduled to come to PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 12.
AVENGED SEVENFOLD contributed music to the previous three installments of the game series, and even appears (virtually) in the second chapter, when they can be seen performing the song "Carry On" in an epilogue after the closing credits.
"Mad Hatter" is the first original material AVENGED SEVENFOLD has released since last year's "Dose", which originally surfaced in the Gameloft mobile game "Dungeon Hunter 5". It later appeared on the "deluxe edition" 2017 reissue of the group's 2016 studio album, "The Stage".
AVENGED SEVENFOLD will probably start working on its eighth studio LP this fall for a 2019 release.
The band recently canceled its summer tour with PROPHETS OF RAGE and THREE DAYS GRACE after M. Shadows was struck by a viral infection that left him "voiceless."

Watch VINCE NEIL Perform MÖTLEY CRÜE Classics In HoustonMÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil performed with his solo band on September 21 at the Proof Rooftop Lounge in Houston, Texas. Video footage of the concert can be seen below (courtesy of The Carlos Melendez Live Metal Channel)
Neil is continuing to tour the world with his solo band, which includes Dana Strum and Jeff Blando from SLAUGHTER, along with drummer Zoltan Chaney.
Speaking to "Trunk Nation", Eddie Trunk's show on SiriusXM channel Volume (106), Vince acknowledged that he is currently the only member of MÖTLEY CRÜE who is waving the flag for the band's music by performing CRÜE songs as a solo artist.
"It's a cool thing, because I love MÖTLEY CRÜE, I love MÖTLEY CRÜE's music, and I love singing, and I love the fans' reactions when they hear the songs," he said. "Whether we're playing in front of a thousand people or twenty thousand people, I can only see the front row anyway. So I'm happy for me and for the fans to be able to still hear that music after MÖTLEY CRÜE is finished."
b>MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx recently confirmed that the band is recording four new songs for the film adaptation of the group's biography, "The Dirt - Confessions Of The World's Most Notorious Rock Band". The movie, which is being helmed by "Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa" director Jeff Tremaine, was picked up by Netflix after being previously developed at Focus Features and before that at Paramount.
MÖTLEY CRÜE's last studio album was 2008's "Saints Of Los Angeles", which was followed by a 2009 "Greatest Hits" compilation.
A tour film about MÖTLEY CRÜE's final shows, "The End", came out in 2016.
In 2015, MÖTLEY CRÜE completed "The Final Tour", closing the book on the band's iconic career after performing a total of 164 shows in 72 markets, grossing over $100 million.
To cement the sense of finality, the four members of MÖTLEY CRÜE in 2014 publicly signed a "cessation of touring" contract that prevents any of them from performing under the CRÜE name in the future.

ELUVEITIE Launch Video Trailer For 10th Anniversary Edition Of Slania AlbumSwiss folk metallers Eluveitie have released a trailer for the upcoming 10th anniversary edition of their Slania album. Find the clip below.
A message from the band: "In February 2008 we were rather unknown Swiss folk-metal newcomers. Yet we published an album which is now heralded as one of the most important reasons for our break-through: Slania.
"What Eluveitie achieved with that album is not something you could call a phenomena. It‘s much more the product of hard, passionate work; the kind of work you put into something you love with all your heart. Even though we went quickly from being an underground act to being internationally successful, we had to fight our way to the top, shedding blood, sweat and tears! Euphoric reactions, sold-out shows and a newfound respect the world over were the well-earned rewards for their hard work. For the band and also for the fans, Slania still has a special place in Eluveitie's discography.
"For that reason, we’re announcing a very special anniversary-edition of this masterpiece. On November 16th, Eluveitie will release Slania - 10 Years via Nuclear Blast Records."
Chrigel Glanzmann comments: “How time flies - hard to believe that it’s already 10 years since we’ve released this album! These last ten years have been incredibly intense, they led us through many a trial and brought us a myriad of blessings. They’ve led us to countless places all around this earth. And all through the years, the songs of this album were with us and we’re still playing them live today! So we're proud of Slania and we're really happy with this re-release and also pretty excited about the bonus goodies it comes with! We hope you'll enjoy as much as we do! Cheers!”

Next it will be me for my contribution of the same, and then Karl. It’s taken us a while to get this far, since all six of us have been busy with various projects too numerous to mention, but we can tell you that the album is very much under production.”

BYZANTINE Release Official Video For "The Cicada Tree"After releasing their latest album, The Cicada Tree, last year to critical acclaim, Byzantine is now launching a new video for the record's title track. Directed by Holly Mollohan / Screaming Butterfly Entertainment, the clip for "The Cicada Tree" can be viewed below.
Vocalist / guitarist Chris "OJ" Ojeda comments: "Over the course of our last few albums, we have really been trying to stretch our songwriting abilities and push past any limitations set upon ourselves. The title track, 'The Cicada Tree', is a great representation of our band at this point in our discography. We try to always write from the heart and with purpose. This song has one of the deeper meanings on our last album, symbolizing our 17 years as a band and our slow but steady evolution as an underground artist."
To state that The Cicada Tree is "classic Byzantine" in no way implies that this is an album solely rooted in the band's past. Certainly, all of the hallmarks that have made their sound so compelling for close to two decades are present and correct: muscular yet lithe riffs and fluid leads play against gripping, dynamic and at times unpredictable rhythms, while rich melodies and lyrics that are both involved and intelligent wind their way through every track. But, once more, the groove metal unit has continued their steady evolution - the interplay between their members organic and natural, imbuing the record's sixty-two-minute running time with a freshness and urgency.
Ojeda: "The first few albums, you're trying to find your sound, and sometimes you tend to not see the forest for the trees. Now, on album number six, it seems a calmness took hold during the songwriting process, possibly from just having more confidence in our sound. At this point, our fans expect us to experiment and push our boundaries, which is an extremely liberating feeling."
The Cicada Tree tracklisting:
“New Ways To Bear Witness”
“Vile Maxim”
“Map Of The Creator”
“Dead As Autumn Leaves”
“Trapjaw”
“The Subjugated”
“Incremental”
“The Cicada Tree”
“Verses Of Violence”

“Servitude” (Fishbone cover)

WOLF HOFFMANN Has 'Lots Of Thoughts' About UDO DIRKSCHNEIDER Performing Only ACCEPT Songs On TourACCEPT guitarist Wolf Hoffmann says that he has "lots of thoughts" about Udo Dirkschneider's decision to embark on one final tour during which the singer is performing nothing but ACCEPT songs.
The DIRKSCHNEIDER tour, which was launched in early 2016, was originally supposed to conclude with the band's North American run in January/February 2017, has now been extended through the fall of 2018.
Asked by SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation" radio show what his thoughts are about his former bandmate playing a full set of ACCEPT classics while the Mark Tornillo-fronted version of ACCEPT is still actively recording and touring, Wolf said: "Well, I have lots of thoughts about that, but I'm not gonna share 'em with you. I'd rather not comment on that, because that seems so much 'back and forth,' and I think I should stay away from it… You can draw your own conclusions all day long, but I'm not gonna get into it; it's just not worth it.
"I get asked [about Udo] so many times, and, man, it's been so many years — it's such an old story by now," Wolf continued. "We've moved on way past that, and we've had 10 brilliant years [with Mark Tornillo], we're making cool albums; I think we're doing fine. So I don't spend any time thinking about it.
I'm very proud of the history we have together and all that, but I'm just not gonna get into the current 'he said, she said' whatever — it's not worth it," Hoffmann concluded.
Udo told rock journalist Mitch Lafon that his decision to perform ACCEPT material one last time came about as a result of his desire to "close [the] book, and say, 'Okay, that's it. I read it.'" He explained: "Sometimes you have to come to an end with something. I wanna close up everything with ACCEPT. And this will be the last time."
Dirkschneider added that he didn't want to continue being compared to the current lineup of ACCEPT. He said: "Now ACCEPT is still on tour, and they have a new singer, and they are doing also 'Balls To The Wall' and they are doing also 'Metal Heart', they do 'Princess Of The Dawn'. And I don't wanna be always compared and have to say, 'What do you think about this and this and this?' This is also another reason. I wanna close the ACCEPT chapter."
Dirkschneider confirmed to Greece's Rock Overdose that he will no longer perform any ACCEPT songs live once he has completed his current touring obligations with his DIRKSCHNEIDER project. "I did now the DIRKSCHNEIDER thing for nearly three hundred shows — I played only ACCEPT songs," he said. "If [the fans] wanna hear some ACCEPT classic stuff, what can I say? Then please go to [see] ACCEPT; they're still touring."
Back in 2015, Hoffmann dismissed Dirkschneider's comment that the band's current lineup performs live "without any emotion," "It's just hilarious at this point," Wolf said. "It's just a big joke in our lives. And we just go on about our lives, and we do our thing, and we just… We let these things go by and laugh about it. He's actually sort of our press agent, in a way. He keeps us [in the news]."
ACCEPT in 2005 completed a 25th-anniversary tour with a touring lineup of original members Dirkschneider, Hoffmann and Herman Frank (both on guitar) and Peter Baltes (bass), along with drummer Stefan Schwarzmann. 23

AVENGED SEVENFOLD Frontman Given Go-Ahead To Start 'Light' SingingAVENGED SEVENFOLD vocalist M. Shadows has told Revolver in a new interview that his condition has improved after a blood blister on his vocal cords forced AVENGED to cancel a summer tour with PROPHETS OF RAGE and THREE DAYS GRACE. Communicating via e-mail, since he's still on vocal rest, Shadows explained: "Luckily, I didn't have surgery. I was just put on a long vocal rest until the swelling went down. A lot of singers get this at some point, so it's nothing to worry about. I've already been cleared to start humming and doing light warm-ups."
When asked what has been the hardest part about having to remain silent over the past two months, Shadows responded: "Not speaking when you are out in public is tough. People don't understand and think you're full of shit."
Asked if he had to take any special precautions or go on a particular diet while recovering, Shadows said: "I'm always on a diet for singing, also acid reflux pills and lots of water. I could probably start singing very soon but I'm going to take this recovery slow just to make sure everything is as strong as it can be. I'll be ready to roll for the next record."
AVENGED SEVENFOLD has just released a new song called "Mad Hatter". The track was recorded for the "Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4" video game and is included on AVENGED SEVENFOLD's EP, "Black Reign", which is being made available on September 21. The effort contains all four songs the band has written and recorded for the "Call Of Duty: Black Ops" franchise.

LINKIN PARK's MIKE SHINODA Releases 'Make It Up As I Go' Video Featuring K.FLAYLINKIN PARK vocalist Mike Shinoda has released the official music video for the song "Make It Up As I Go", featuring a guest appearance by alternative hip-hop artist K.Flay. The track is taken from Mike's recently released solo album, "Post Traumatic".
Shinoda told Rolling Stone that when he initially reached out to K.Flay, it was to finish up a song they'd worked on together during the sessions for LINKIN PARK's last album, "One More Light", that didn't make the cut. "Make It Up As I Go" was originally a ballad but Shinoda tweaked the tempo; the chorus, which K.Flay sang, remained the same as it originally was: "I don't know what I'm chasing, I don’t know who I am/So I make it up as I go."
"We were talking about how it's comforting to think that anybody knows what they're doing but we're all inventing life moment by moment," K.Flay said. "That's a headspace I'm in frequently, and I think it was definitely connecting with Mike's headspace, too."
Some of the new LP was inspired by the death more than a year ago of LINKIN PARK singer Chester Bennington. The latter was found dead in his Los Angeles-area home on July 20, 2017 after hanging himself. LINKIN PARK headlined an all-star tribute concert for Bennington last October in Los Angeles but has not announced any future plans for recording or touring.
t was recently announced that Shinoda would headline the 2018 "Monster Outbreak" tour, which kicks off on October 10 in Montreal.

Hear CHRIS CORNELL's Previously Unreleased Song 'When Bad Does Good' From New Box SetOn November 16, fans can celebrate the recorded legacy of musical icon and singer/songwriter Chris Cornell with the 17-track self-titled album, "Chris Cornell", and a 64-track limited-edition deluxe box set. The first release since his passing in 2017, the album will be made available by Cornell's wife, Vicky Cornell, on behalf of the Chris Cornell estate through UMe.
"Chris Cornell" commemorates his life and legacy not only as a singer, but as a poet and one of the most prolific writers and greatest voices of the modern rock era. Vicky worked extensively with Chris's bandmates and friends to compile a collection of material from the late artist's expansive career, showcasing his contribution to music history with selections culled from the deep catalogs of his three influential bands — SOUNDGARDEN, TEMPLE OF THE DOG and AUDIOSLAVE — as well as songs from his solo career. She turned to producer Brendan O'Brien, who was a trusted partner to Cornell over the years, and Jeff Ament, who created the packaging for "Chris Cornell".
The first previously unreleased track, "When Bad Does Good", was produced, recorded, and mixed by Cornell and was found in his personal recordings archive. The track was a favorite of his and it wasn't until friend Josh Brolin reminded Vicky of the unreleased song that she decided to share it with his fans. The song is also accompanied by a lyric video, which can be viewed below.
"Since Chris's sudden passing, I have put all my efforts and energy into sharing his music and legacy with his fans from all over the world," says Vicky. "I felt we needed to create a special collection to represent all of him — the friend, husband and father, the risk taker and innovator, the poet and artist. His soaring vocals found their way into the hearts and souls of so many. His voice was his vision and his words were his peace. This album is for his fans."
he breadth of all 17 selections on "Chris Cornell" display the full span of his artistic achievements, from the full-on kick of SOUNDGARDEN's seminal "Black Hole Sun" to the mournful yearning of TEMPLE OF THE DOG's "Hunger Strike" to the sensitive depth of AUDIOSLAVE's "Like A Stone" to his spot-on solo theme to the 2006 James Bond film "Casino Royale", "You Know My Name". This collection also contains a pair of previously unreleased recordings: a touching cover of Prince's "Nothing Compares 2 U" that was cut live at SiriusXM, and "When Bad Does Good".
The November 16 release will also include a limited-edition 4CD deluxe box set of the same name, consisting of 64 tracks (11 of them previously unreleased).
"Chris Cornell" comes housed in a jewel case with a limited-edition custom die-cut slipcase that showcases Seattle with tree-line graphics on the front and other various cities he lived in throughout his life on the back, a 32-page booklet with many unreleased photos, and liner notes from bandmates and colleagues Kim Thayil, Matt Cameron, Tom Morello, Mike McCready and Brendan O'Brien. The 180g 2LP edition comes in a gatefold jacket with similar limited-edition slipcase graphics, a 12-page booklet, and the aforementioned liner notes, while the 4CD limited-edition box boasts a further expanded 54-page booklet.
Additionally, a limited-edition super deluxe 4CD, 1DVD, and 180-gram 7LP box set is set for release on November 16. The super deluxe edition holds 88 tracks — 64 songs plus 24 videos, with 13 entries (11 audio + 2 video) previously unreleased overall. Also included in the super deluxe box are a 66-page hardcover photo book wrapped in linen with a red foil signature cover, three artist lithos, three photochromatic lithos inspired by Cornell's lyrical fascination about the sun (images are brought to life by holding under direct sunlight), a turntable mat, a microfiber vinyl cleaning cloth, and a 36x48-inch wall poster.
The box set's ten unreleased live performances include Cornell's duet with Yusuf/Cat Stevens on "Wild World" and another duet with his daughter Toni Cornell on Bob Marley's indelible classic "Redemption Song". TEMPLE OF THE DOG's 25th-anniversary reunion/first-ever-official tour in 2016 is highlighted with hometown performances of "Reach Down" and the Andy Wood/MOTHER LOVE BONE favorite "Stargazer", Chris's personal arrangement of "One" featuring the lyrics to METALLICA's song set to the music of U2's song of same name, and a first ever album release of AUDIOSLAVE's 2005 ground-breaking performance on Cuban soil of "Show Me How To Live". Also in 2016, one of Chris's personal career-topping moments was performing at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall in London where he covered THE BEATLES' "A Day In The Life". Three additional live selections from Sweden in 2006 include "Wide Awake", "All Night Thing" and LED ZEPPELIN's "Thank You" are from the very first show ever where Chris performed by himself with an acoustic guitar in front of an audience which became the creative spark for his future, highly successful "Songbook" tours. Two unreleased music videos spotlight a solo acoustic performance of "Scream" and the newly edited SOUNDGARDEN video "Live To Rise", showcasing the band only without "The Avengers" movie footage included.

b>"Salvation" was mixed and mastered at The Mouse House Studio in Altadena, California by veteran producer/engineer Rich Mouser, known for his work with Robert Trujillo (METALLICA, OZZY OSBOURNE), Chris Vrenna (MARILYN MANSON, NINE INCH NAILS, TWEAKER), Chris Cornell, WEEZER and DREAM THEATER.
Seann Nicols (formerly of ADLER'S APPETITE, QUIET RIOT, Bobby Blotzer's RATT) took over as the lead vocalist for WESTFIELD MASSACRE in June 2017 when the band parted ways with Tommy Vext (ex-SNOT, DIVINE HERESY), who currently sings for BAD WOLVES. Rounding out WESTFIELD MASSACRE's current lineup are Stephen Brewer on guitar, Erik Tisinger (ex-OTEP) on bass, Dio Britto on drums, and Luis Kalil on guitar.
WESTFIELD MASSACRE has a sound that can be described as a bridge between modern American and European metal. With aggressive growls, high soaring vocal melodies, impossibly fast drums, classically inspired passages and harmonized guitar leads, WESTFIELD MASSACRE aims to make their modern metal accessible to fans of all music genres.
WESTFIELD MASSACRE's self-titled debut album was released in April 2016 on Urban Yeti Records. The album made it to No. 3 on iTunes Metal chart and debuted at No. 14 on Billboard's Heatseeker chart, where it stayed in the Top 20 for several weeks. The band has toured with SEVENDUST, TRIVIUM and CANDIRIA and also performed at festivals, including Ozzfest Meets Knotfest and Dirtfest.
