ADRENALINE MOB Singer Thanks Fans For 'Outpouring Of Love' After Crash That Killed Band's BassistADRENALINE MOB singer Russell Allen has thanked fans for their support, one day after being involved in a crash that resulted in the death of the band's bassist David Zablidowsky.
The accident occurred near Micanopy early Friday afternoon when a tractor-trailer veered off Interstate 75 and struck the group's RV, which had pulled off the highway with a flat tire. ADRENALINE MOB was traveling in the RV and a van that was pulling a covered trailer.
According to Gainesville.com, a total of nine people were in the vehicles. One died, six were taken to area hospitals, and the other two declined medical treatment. The majority of those injured were listed in serious condition and one was in critical condition as of late Friday night. Those injured were taken to UF Health Shands Hospital and North Florida Regional Medical Center.
Earlier this afternoon, Russell — who also sings for SYMPHONY X — took to his Facebook page to write: "Yesterday I was involved in an accident that took the life of my dear friend and bandmate David Z and left three of our crew in critical condition.
"I'm overwhelmed with sorrow.
"I am so grateful for the outpouring of love we have received from around the world.
"Please continue to pray for David's family during this difficult time. And those in critical condition.
"I want to personally thank Marine Lance Cpl. Patrick Dumon for his bravery in assisting me pull our driver Jason [McCole] from the wreckage and for attending to his wounds. And for helping me to secure and attend to Jane [tour manager Janet Rains, a.k.a. Jane Train] once I was able to get her free from the fire. Without his selfless act of courage, I would not have been able to get them clear of the RV before it was engulfed in flames. On behalf of my band and crew, I thank you."
ADRENALINE MOB guitarist Mike Orlando's girlfriend Dana Griffo wrote on Facebook late Friday night that Orlando, Allen, ADRENALINE MOB drummer Jordan Cannata and crew member Robert Dressler were "banged up but okay."
According to the police, the GMC was traveling southbound on I-75 near Mile Marker 372 with the RV, and both vehicles stopped on the shoulder. The semi collided with the vehicles that were stopped on the shoulder and the RV caught fire where the passenger died. The RV and the GMC were traveling together. The RV had a flat tire, so both vehicles pulled off the highway. The trailer that was being towed by the van was hauling musical equipment.
ADRENALINE MOB was scheduled to play Friday night in St. Petersburg.
The band was touring in support of its third studio album, "We The People", which was released on June 2 via Century Media. The follow-up to 2014's "Men Of Honor" was the first ADRENALINE MOB release to feature Zablidowsky and Cannata.

XENTRIX Parts Ways With Guitarist/Vocalist CHRIS ASTLEY, Announces ReplacementVeteran U.K. thrashers XENTRIX have parted ways with guitarist/vocalist Chris Astley and have replaced him with Jay Walsh (BULL-RIFF STAMPEDE)
The band says in a statement on its Facebook page: "It's been a while since we posted any XENTRIX news, and, to be totally honest, this has been down to the fact that we weren't sure if there would be anymore news or even any more XENTRIX.
"At the end of 2015, Chris Astley, our singer/guitarist, had decided he didn't want to be a part of XENTRIX or any other band for that matter, and so once again he was out of the lineup. This left us (the remaining three members) with the option to call it a day or try and find a replacement.
"We knew full well that the vocals are always the most difficult thing for any band to replace, but we wanted to carry on doing shows and making new metal music, so we set out on the arduous task of finding a new vocalist for the band. For the past 18 months, we've been trying to find that right person and it has been incredibly frustrating how many times we thought we had found the new addition to our lineup, only to discover, for one reason or another, it wasn't to be. We'd like to thank everyone that auditioned and demoed for us, we experienced some great voices and really cool people.
"But after a chance meeting at last year's Bloodstock festival, we found the right man for the job, and so XENTRIX would like to welcome Mr. Jay Walsh as our new singer/guitarist.
"We're super excited to have Jay on board and have already started writing and demoing new material. Most importantly, we can't wait to get back to doing what we love the most, playing live!"
XENTRIX 2017 is:
Kristian Havard - GuitarChris Shires - BassJay Walsh - Vocals/GuitarDennis Gasser - Drums
Originally thrust into the public eye in the late '80s after their demo received a five-K review in Kerrang!, which in turn caught the attention Roadrunner Records, XENTRIX soon found themselves in the studio making "Shattered Existence". Of course, their now-infamous cover of "Ghostbusters" remains a firm favorite with fans old and new as does the band's phenomenal second album, "For Whose Advantage?", which is regarded as a bonafide thrash classic. The band went onto enjoy a short-but-successful career that saw them share stages with SLAYER, TESTAMENT, SEPULTURA, ANNIHILATOR, SABBAT, TANKARD and SKYCLAD before calling it a day in 1996, having become disillusioned with the U.K. metal scene.
XENTRIX released four albums on Roadrunner Records: "Shattered Existence" (1989), "For Whose Advantage" (1990), "Dilute to Taste" (1991) and "Kin" (1992). They also issued "Scourge" (1996) on Heavy Metal Records with Simon Gordon on vocals and Andy Rudd on guitar.
XENTRIX — with Chris Astley on guitar and vocals — played its first show in almost seven years in April 2013 at the Moses Gate in Bolton, England.
Prior to that, XENTRIX had reunited with its original lineup in 2006 for two gigs in the band's home country.

OZZY OSBOURNE Plays First Solo Show Since Completion Of BLACK SABBATH's 'The End' Tour (Video)Ozzy Osbourne played his first solo concert since the completion of BLACK SABBATH's "The End" tour last night (Friday, July 14) at the Rock USA festival in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
Ozzy is joined on the current run of dates by guitarist Zakk Wylde, who was the SABBATH frontman's regular axeman from 1988 to 2007, although they've often performed together since then. Osbourne's touring lineup also includes Rob "Blasko" Nicholson on bass, Tommy Clufetos on drums and Adam Wakeman on keyboards.
In a post-show tweet, Zakk wrote: "BIG OZZY THANKS To The OSHKOSH,WI CHAPTER for Making it a CRUSHING NIGHT!!! It was a BLAST Rolling w/The BOSS & The FELLAS Once Again!!!tBLSt"
Ozzy currently has only seven more dates scheduled between now and early November, including a headlining appearance at the Chicago Open Air Festival Sunday night. Next month will see the singer play Buffalo Chip in Sturgis, South Dakota, Treasure Island Resort & Casino in Welch, Minnestoa and the Moonstock festival in Cartersville, Illinois. More shows will follow in September and October, with the final date take place at this year's edition of the Ozzfest Meets Knotfest on November 4 in San Bernadino, California.
Speaking to the Chicago Tribune about the possibility of collaborating with Ozzy on a new studio album, Zakk said: "My relationship with Ozzy and Mrs. O [Ozzy's wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne] is if they call me up and say, 'Bring eggs and milk over and clean the dog run,' I do it. If Oz wants to do another record, then we knock it out. We haven't spoken yet about a record. Basically, right now it's about the shows."
Wylde originally joined Osbourne's band three decades ago and backed the legendary frontman from 1987 to 1995, then again in 1998, from 2001 to 2004 and also from 2006 to 2009. His guitar playing can be heard on Osbourne's studio albums "No Rest For The Wicked", "No More Tears", "Ozzmosis", "Down To Earth", "Under Cover" and "Black Rain". The first album with Wylde went double platinum and "No More Tears" remains Ozzy's most successful album, going four times platinum in the United States with four Top 10 songs on the U.S. Billboard chart. Wylde also appeared with Ozzy on three live albums. 3

AC/DC's ANGUS YOUNG Joins GUNS N' ROSES On Stage In Nijmegen, The Netherlands (Video)AC/DC guitarist Angus Young made a guest appearance with GUNS N' ROSES this past Wednesday night (July 12) at Goffertpark in Nijmegen, The Netherlands during the European leg of the latter band's "Not In This Lifetime" tour.
Young joined GUNS to perform the AC/DC classics "Whole Lotta Rosie" from 1977's "Let There Be Rock" and "Riff Raff" from 1978's "Powerage". The guitarist appeared in regular street clothes instead of his trademark schoolboy outfit.
Young previously played with GUNS N' ROSES on June 22 in Hannover, Germany and at two shows in Sydney, Australia in February. He also jumped on stage with the group in April 2016 at the Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival.
GUNS N' ROSES lead singer Axl Rose did a string of European and North American concerts with AC/DC in 2016, mostly to fan and critical acclaim.
It is unknown whether Rose will continue singing with AC/DC. The band's future remains in doubt after the band completed its world tour in support of 2014's "Rock Or Bust", a cycle that saw a massive turnover in the group's personnel. Sole original member Angus Young has not yet indicated whether the group will continue recording and touring.
In March 2016, AC/DC's singer of 35 years, Brian Johnson, had to leave the band's North American tour after doctors told him he might lose his hearing, while 40-year bassist Cliff Williams announced his retirement at the rescheduled trek's conclusion.
The lineup that completed the tour consisted of Williams, Angus Young, Rose, Chris Slade on drums and Angus's nephew Stevie Young on guitar.
GUNS will come back to North America for at least another fifteen stadium dates this summer, starting on July 27 in St. Louis and ending on September 8 in San Antonio. 1

CRAFTEON Unleash "What The Moon Brings" Lyric VideoDenver, Colorado's Crafteon have unleashed their new lyric video for "What The Moon Brings", in support of their debut album Cosmic Reawakening, due out on August 25th. The band is the conception of vocalist and guitarist Lord Mordiggian whom has been inspired to create an entire album influenced by his favorite writer, H.P. Lovecraft. The eight tracks on the release are based on classic H.P. Lovecraft tales such as The Outsider, Dagon and From Beyond. Achieving the unachievable in crafting music to match the stories, Crafteon can be best described as Bardic Black Metal.
Lord Mordiggian comments: “This recording prudently recounts an antiquarian bundle of peculiar short stories authored by the famed American horror writer, H.P. Lovecraft, featuring a blasphemous potpourri of amorphous black metal enmeshed with spurious, assonant passages of hope juxtaposed and vanquished by discordant strains of utter despair and madness.”
Cosmic Reawakening tracklisting:
"The Outsider"
"What The Moon Brings"
"The Temple"
"Dagon"
"The Colour Out Of Space"
"The White Ship"
"From Beyond"
"The Whisperer In The Darkness"
Musically inspired by the likes of: Shining, Dissection, Nyktalgia, Cradle Of Filth and Iron Maiden, Lord Mordiggian describes the sound of Crafteon as "rough-hewn, distraught, mucilaginous, archival and multiplanar."
“I expect the general fans of black metal to enjoy the influence of early Swedish black metal…This band will remain in the realm of Lovecraft and at least his genre, and considering he has hundreds of other stories, the music to come in the future is virtually limitless as far as the concept goes. I already have several songs in the works for the sophomore album, and this time the other band members are contributing their own original pieces as well.”

DYSCARNATE To Release All Their Might This SeptemberUK death metal trio Dyscarnate will release their third full-length, and first for Unique Leader Records, on September 15th. Titled With All Their Might, the eight-track offering was captured by Stu McKay (Ingested, Acrania) at Studio 6 in England and mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen (Aborted, Volbeat, Evergrey) at Hansen Studios in Denmark.
"With All Their Might is the sound of us nailing our colors to the mast in no uncertain terms," issues the band of their latest release. "We've always worked on each new album as its own entity, and feel the whole thing needs to flow as one cohesive piece. Every song has its place on the record, but the lyrics and feel of each one reflects a signature theme. We feel that while this record is the most complete thing we've ever done, it's also the most varied, dynamic, and evolved we have ever been. We have written this album for only ourselves, and as a result feel we have something our fans will really connect to."
"Dyscarnate is now split between Shropshire, Sussex, and Amsterdam, which has meant this record has been written and recorded in a wide variety of locations. For the last two weeks of writing, we set ourselves up in a secluded farmhouse just over the Welsh border, where we worked non-stop putting the finishing touches to the demos, as well as tracking all the vocals ourselves. Inspiration has come from everywhere on the musical spectrum and beyond. We didn't want to work within any kind of parameters, and tried things we wouldn't have gone near in the past. Song and lyric concepts have included, among many others: existential dread, insanity, human perception, and strength of will."
With All Their Might tracklisting:
"Of Mice And Mountains"
"This Is Fire!"
"Iron Strengthens Iron"
"Traitors In The Palace"
"To End All Flesh Before Me"
"Backbreaker"
"All The Devils Are Here"
"Nothing Seems Right"
Dyscarnate has long been flying the flag for UK death metal all over the world. Having toured across Australia, Europe, Indonesia, Israel, Russia and more, fans can expect to see the three-piece powerhouse's dominance to spread even further in the coming year. Three men, one purpose, one sound. Always outnumbered, never outgunned.

WITH THE DEAD To Release New Album Love From WITH THE DEAD In SeptemberWith The Dead will release their sophomore album, Love From With The Dead, on September 22nd via Rise Above Records.
Doom is all around us. The optimism of a new millennium has steadily disintegrated. The light at the end of the tunnel turned out to be a burning tower block and the powers-that-be are dancing in the smoldering ruins. Humanity is eating itself and we're all terminally fucked. As a result, it makes perfect sense that the emergence of British doom metal mavens With The Dead would strike a dissonant chord with so many people.
Formed in 2014 by former Cathedral / Napalm Death frontman and Rise Above Records boss Lee Dorrian and ex-Electric Wizard / Ramesses bassist / guitarist Tim Bagshaw, the band coalesced in a monetary burst of spontaneity and shared fury, resulting in the release of their eponymous debut album in 2015: a welcome shot in the arm for fans of merciless, unrelenting sonic despair.
Hell-bent on staking a further claim to be doom metal's most intense and remorseless practitioners, With The Dead have now completed work on their second album, Love From With The Dead, which will be released September 22nd on Rise Above Records. Comprising tracks recorded during two separate sessions with celebrated studio guru Jaime Gomez Arellano, the new material represents the first fruits of the band's recently retooled lineup. Joining Lee and Tim are bassist Leo Smee and drummer Alex Thomas, who replaces the departed Mark Greening.
For those who flinched at the sheer, unforgiving brutality of With The Dead's first record, the songs on Love From With The Dead are liable to cause major emotional trauma. Darker, denser, more despondent and sickeningly heavy in numerous senses of the word, this is an album that re-establishes doom as a genre that embraces the extreme and not just some cozy, nostalgic reimagining of the early '70s. Love From With The Dead grimly extinguishes the light of hope and hammers home the hatred and futility that plagues our brief and brittle lives.
"The thinking was that the first LP was meant to be the heaviest we could possibly make, but then what do you next?" Lee muses. "Well, the only thing you can do is make the next one even heavier. So that was the ambition and the intention, to make it even more crushing. But to be able to do that you have to be crushed yourself. This last couple of years have been quite soul-destroying. There's been a lot of personal shit going on, and during this whole process so much fucking bad shit has happened in my personal life and other people's personal lives. Everything you hear on this LP, the angst is very real. I've never felt so disillusioned with life and the world around me, not since the first Cathedral album," says Lee Dorrian.
He continues, "I'm 50 next year and you're supposed to mellow out when you get older, but why?" Lee asks. "I don't feel like mellowing out. The world's getting worse, the atmosphere is getting heavier, people treat each other like shit and there's so much negativity, how are you supposed to chill out when all that's going on? I'm in a privileged position to be able to be in a band like this, so why fuck around? The band's called With The Dead and it's a doom band, why would you want to mellow out? It's got to be pure nihilism or nothing."
Love From With The Dead tracklisting:
"Isolation"
"Egyptian Tomb"
"Reincarnation Of Yesterday"
"Cocaine Phantoms"
"Watching The Ward Go By"
"Anemia"
"CV1"

REX BROWN Covers NEIL YOUNG's "The Needle And The Damage Done"; VideoRex Brown (Pantera, Down) has uploaded a live video of his rendition of the Neil Young classic, "The Needle And The Damage Done".
Rex has also released a teaser for the new song "So Into You", taken from his new solo album Smoke On This, which will be released on July 28th:
Many people know Rex Brown from his iconic work with Pantera and Down. However, there is much more to Rex and a wellspring of music. Metal Wani's Chuck Marshall recently had a chance to talk with Rex about Smoke On This.
They dive into some of choice cuts off Smoke On This such as “Get Yourself Alright”, “Grace”, and “Buried Alive”. Rex talks about a song “Buried Alive” which describes his life after Pantera and Dimebag’s death; the transition from a guitarist to a singer, explores these tunes and explains how this album reflects his desire to get back to his rock ‘n' roll roots. He also talks about the genuine nature of the music vibe in Nashville and how that influenced the recording.
In addition to Lance Harvill who co-wrote the album, Rex reveals the musicians who will be joining his band to support the album on the road. He also talks about why this album is pretty good rock ‘n’ roll album in a long time. Finally Rex reveals Quaker Oats is what he relies on each morning to get his day started off on the right foot.
Multi-platinum selling artist Rex Brown recently debuted an all new single and music video for the track “Train Song”. This is the second single behind "Crossing Lines" that was released back in April.
Directed by Justin Reich (Zakk Wylde, Ace Frehley), this is the first music video being released from Brown's debut solo effort.
“It was a frickin’ blast working on this with Justin,” says Brown. "I always hated the sitting around and waiting mentality, but Justin and his crew made it incredibly easy and very productive! This first video shows a ton of power and Justin captured it all with no hesitation.”
The video was shot in Nashville, TN where the record itself was recorded and produced. Rex's bandmates are also making their debut in the video. Lance Harvill, who also co-wrote most of the LP with Brown plays lead guitar. Joe Shadid plays rhythm guitar and longtime friend of Brown's and Type O Negative member Johnny Kelly plays drums. Caleb Sherman can be seen on Keys and lap steel as well.
Both "Train Song" and “Crossing Lines” are available on all streaming platforms and as an iTunes instant gratification track, meaning fans who pre order the LP today will get the track as a download instantly. Rex Brown will release Smoke On This... on July 28th via Entertainment One Music (eOne Music).
Brown’s solo debut strips away any boundaries and preconceived notions, reveling in a newfound freedom to express all of the various shades of the man whose name is out front. The song “Fault Line” helped him find his voice. “That was the very first one I sang. After I got that one, I knew that I could do it, and Lance was my biggest motivator in finding that voice. Up until that point I just wasn’t sure.”
From there, there’s the brilliantly straightforward “Lone Rider,” the monstrous In Through The Out Door vibe of “Crossing Lines”, the Pink Floyd reverence of “Best Of Me”. “Get Yourself Alive” is something of an ode to “Strawberry Fields Forever”, but with a swift-kick of rock n’ roll. It’s rich in nuance, with Indian tandoori and layers of vocals. The extremely catchy “Grace” is “something you would never expect to hear off a Rex Brown record and that’s exactly why I did it. It’s just a really great song, period. Bottom line.”
Rex’s solo album is full of mojo and the force of character, determination, and nerve. He tracked lead vocals, rhythm guitars, and bass, working with his primary collaborator and old friend, Lance Harvill, a Nashville-based guitarist and songwriter, on the album’s songs. “Lance was & is, my main man on this. Everything we did was finely tuned, both musically & brotherly.”
Drums were tracked by Christopher Williams, himself no stranger to diverse tastes, from funk music to punk. His talent has been utilized by country music star Lee Greenwood, the reconstituted Blackfoot and most recently, power metal legends Accept. The album was produced by New Yorker turned Nashville transplant Caleb Sherman, a multi-instrumentalist with work on records by Little Big Town and Porter Block, among others. “Caleb produced the project from a musician's standpoint,” adds Brown. “Not just a typical producer’s standpoint, which was something I definitely needed. Between Caleb and Lance, we were a force to be reckoned with. They really pulled out the best in me.” Peter Keyes, known for his work with Lynyrd Skynyrd can also be heard on a few tracks. All bass tracking came from Rex himself as well.
Who is Rex Brown? To the industry, fellow musicians, and a legion of fans around the world, he’s the bassist for Pantera, one of the biggest hard rock and metal acts of the past few decades, alongside Nirvana and Metallica. They had Number One albums with minimal support from traditional commercial outlets and went platinum several times over. Pantera rode a groundswell of underground loyalty, earned through several years of blood, sweat, and road beers. Five major label albums, countless international tours, and a series of carnage-filled home videos cemented a legacy as large as their massive riffs and the band’s insatiable appetites for mayhem, authenticity, and brotherhood.
“My motto these days is ‘Shake some shit up,'" Brown declares about the new LP. “I’ve had my ups and downs, like anybody in this business. I wanted to feel like a true artist again, where I can write and record songs without worrying about any of the bullshit.”

NERVECELL - Past, Present...Torture Vinyl Unpacking Video StreamingNervecell have set August 25th as the release date for their forthcoming third album, Past, Present...Torture. The album will be released through Lifeforce Records in most part of the world, while Metal East Records is handling the release in the Middle East region. An unpacking video for the vinyl edition of the album can be seen below:
It is a fine line to combine brutality, technical requirements and harsh accessibility in such a way, that the result leads to extreme songs, which listeners like to hear and which they can remember. Nervecell master that impressively. The addition of Middle-Eastern folklore accents contributes a decisive part to this.
The Dubai-based band is, above all, an uncompromising death metal band, but the charm of the “special ingredients” always resonates. And this is how Nervecell find to musical differentiation. Past, Present…Torture marks the group’s third full-length and is the successor of Psychogenocide from 2011.
“Past, Present…Torture” was mixed and mastered by Wojtek and Slawek Wiesawski at Hertz Studios (Behemoth, Decapitated, Vader) in Poland, the cover artwork was created by Colin Marks of Rain Song Design (Origin, Exodus).
The album consists of 13 tracks and is the most extreme and versatile Nervecell record to date. The title speaks for itself, focusing on the state of the world and where we are all headed as a civilization. Past, Present…Torture serves as a concise summary for both, the lyrical message and the musical direction. Offering unpleasant truths and a rigorous death metal sound. Just as you know and expect from the beast from the Middle East... Nervecell.
Past, Present...Torture tracklisting:
“Intro”
“Aadvent”
“Proxy War”
“D.N.A. (Diruo Nocens Acervus)”

KID ROCK Confirms Senate Run After Being Met With SkepticismAccording to The Pulse Of Radio, Kid Rock has confirmed that he is running for the U.S. Senate seat in Michigan currently held by Democrat Debbie Stabenow. Rock announced his run on Wednesday (July 12) with a new campaign web site, although the revelation was met with some skepticism over the fact that campaign merch was being sold on the site through a Warner Bros. Records web site and that Rock had not yet filed the necessary paperwork with the Federal Election Commission.
In a statement titled "Once again the press is wrong," Rock insisted that he was running, writing, "First of all, I've got 15 days from my announcement to file paperwork with the FEC! Second, I'm not signed to Warner Bros!!! – which simple fact-checking would have revealed. I have recently worked out a unique deal with BMG, Broken Bow, CAA and Live Nation to release music ON MY TERMS. Like politicians write books during their campaigns, I'm planning on putting out music during mine… It's not a hoax, it's a strategy and marketing 101!"
Later on Thursday (July 13), Rock released two new songs and videos, "Greatest Show On Earth" and "Po-Dunk".
The "Greatest Show On Earth" clip ends by promoting the "Greatest Show On Earth Tour", which will hit the U.S. in 2018 — the same time that Rock would have to be campaigning if he's serious about his run for Senate. 1

EDGUY: Watch Official Lyric Video For New Song 'Open Sesame'The official lyric video for "Open Sesame", a brand new song from German melodic metallers EDGUY, can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's "Monuments"2-CD/DVD-package, which is being released today (Friday, July 14) via Nuclear Blast.
In February 1992, a bunch of German kids set out from the middle of nowhere and founded a band that would conquer the hearts of a whole new generation of fans around the globe. Today, 25 years later, EDGUY's founding members Tobias Sammet and the two guitarists Jens Ludwig and Dirk Sauer, as well as Tobias "Eggi" Exxel (bass) and Felix Bohnke (drums), who joined the band 20 years ago, can look back at their hugely successful career to shows in more than 40 countries, countless tours in Asia, Australia and America, ten studio albums and Top 10 chart entries from all over the world. To celebrate such an exceptional career with their fans, EDGUY will get back on the road. And while the live program will only contain the best material of their entire career, the new release is not just a "greatest hits" album one would expect to accompany such a tour: "Monuments" includes brand new material, their best tracks of the last 25 years, and old rarities that have never been published before. In addition, the DVD includes an entire show from EDGUY's "Hellfire Club" tour in 2004 as well as the complete collection of the band's video clips. The limited edition includes an extensive coffee-table book containing material from throughout the entire history of EDGUY.

The official lyric video for the new song "Ravenblack" can be seen below. Sammet states: "Whilst collecting all of this picture material together, we were once again made aware of how proud we are of what we have created.
"There are probably not many musicians who are lucky enough to be able to look back on a 25-year-old band history at the end of their thirties. And especially without any lineup changes in the last 20 years! This is even more incredible considering that we’re not from Birmingham, New York or a German metropolis but from a small town called Fulda, a place where you normally only know about the insights of the music business by hearsay. I mean, as kids we started to play EDGUY shows even before we had visited concerts as fans ourselves! Then we started to play shows outside our home town, then outside Germany and, all of a sudden, we found ourselves touring in Asia, America and Australia on a regular basis, because apparently there were people who liked our music. And they became more and more. For us, this always felt quite normal, the next step was all that mattered. We didn't think about what happened while things were happening. But if you look back now, you will realize how lucky we were!"
He continued: "It's now time to celebrate our anniversary with our fans. We'll celebrate our quarter century with the release of 'Monuments' and live in some selected cities! We'll perform a best-of set list, a journey throughout our past, with a lot of fuss and at full throttle!
"The first quarter century is over and we want to honour these years with our fans! To the next 25 years!" 1

EXECRATION Streaming Return To The Void Album In FullTomorrow, Friday, July 14th, Norwegian death metallers Execration will release their new album, Return To The Void, via Metal Blade Records. Pre-order the album on digi-CD and vinyl. A full album stream can be found below.
"Coming off of two double 12" vinyl albums, the first clear goal for writing Return To The Void was to deliver the same kind of dynamic and shifting song-writing in a more condensed to-the-point package", comments Execration. Stripping songs down to their essential core has been a driving force while writing, and it shows - there is not a wasted moment on the album. Ticking it at 42 minutes - a perfect fit for the vinyl format - the album takes the listener through a whirlwind of thrash, death, black, and even heavy metal, fast and slow parts, and the trademark Execration shifts in mood, tempo, and atmosphere.
"As with the previous two albums, we wanted to capture the feel of a live performance, so all the basic tracks (drums, guitars, bass) were recorded live in our rehearsal studio in Oslo over the course of a weekend. Vocals, synths, and various effects where recorded the following weeks with assistance from Andreas Tylden (One Tail, One Head / Altaar). The album was then mixed and mastered by Tom Kvålsvoll of Kvålsonic Labs."
Thematically, the album takes off into outer space, the world of dreams, and philosophic musings on time and space. The album's seven songs and two instrumental tracks are permeated with the mysteries of the universe, both in lyrical content and concept, and in the music itself. This theme is further brought to life by the magnificent art of Zbigniew M. Bielak that adorns the front cover.

GRAVESHADOW Enter Studio To Record New AlbumRecently completing a west coast run of shows with Russia’s Arkona and Norway’s Sirenia, Sacramento’s Graveshadow - a female-fronted symphonic metal band that incorporates doom, thrash and goth metal influences - has entered the studio to begin recording their sophomore album and debut for M-Theory Audio. Recording at The Captains Quarters in Ventura, California with producer (and Night Demon guitarist) Armand John Anthony.
“The idea came to record with Armand while we were on tour with Night Demon. I got to talking with him and he showed me some of his production work,” explains Graveshadow guitarist Will Walker. “What we really want to accomplish on this album is more of a raw and organic sound while still maintaining the symphonic elements of the music. It was a natural fit. The gear, the room, everything is working out to realize exactly what we were looking for. Armand is an absolute joy to work with and we feel he’s really helping us make this the best it can be.”
Recording will continue over the month of July with plans to release in early 2018 via their new deal with M-Theory Audio. Check their Facebook page for more recording updates.
Since forming at the end of 2012 Graveshadow has created a sound defined by crushing guitars, beautiful keyboard melodies, thundering bass, and earth-shattering drums. The powerful operatic vocals shift into unearthly growls to create a rich and dynamic atmosphere that is ripe for storytelling. Whether it is a tale of personal struggle or of fantastical creatures, the listener is sure to find themselves immersed in a world apart. Releasing an EP in 2014, and a full-length, Nocturnal Resurrection, the following year Graveshadow have toured and played shows with Marty Friedman, Flotsam And Jetsam, Unleash The Archers, Apocalyptica, Children Of Bodom, Death Angel, Skinlab, Doyle, Wednesday 13 and John 5, as well as tours with Anvil, Night Demon, Sirenia and Arkona.

TIDES OF KHARON Streaming “Coins Upon Our Eyes” Track From Upcoming Debut EPFew things go together better than melodic death metal and ancient mythology. The debut EP from Edmonton, Alberta’s Tides Of Kharon is the latest addition to this perfect combo. Entitled Coins Upon Our Eyes, the debut goes hand in hand with the band name, taken from the lore of the boatman on the river Styx who ferries the dead to the underworld, taking the coins left on the eyes of a corpse as his payment. Tides Of Kharon fully embrace the Greek mythology themes in their songs and their first EP is a culmination of several different tales taking from the ancient pantheon.
Originally started by brothers Cam, Ryan and Justin Rehman in 2014 with a desire to play shows in front of people, Tides Of Kharon quickly became a fan favorite in the Edmonton music community. The solidification of Gord Alexander on drums and Garrett Nelson on vocals finally cemented the sound the band sought and the production of the EP could begin. Citing inspiration from titans in the genre including Amon Amarth, At the Gates and early In Flames, the band is definitely in the running alongside their Swedish counterparts.
Finally, their debut EP is ready to be unleashed upon the public on July 21st. The title track is available for streaming below.
The band comments: "The EP is the culmination of several years of writing and performing material in an attempt to solidify what we would define as our sound. Lyrically the title track “Coins Upon Our Eyes” is a discussion on existentialism within the setting of Greek mythology, and the indifference of gods that you know are real. The rest of the tracks follow suit with lyrical themes involving, the rape of Medusa, Orpheus' quest to bring back his dead wife, and an unending battle involving the sons of the god of war, Ares. The EP is just the beginning with several songs already complete and numerous in the works a full length album won't be far off."
Tracklisting:
“Coins Upon Our Eyes”
“The Winter War”
“From Medusa’s Throne”
“Cerberus In Slumber”
“Coins Upon Our Eyes”:
For those in the Edmonton area, Tides Of Kharon will be hosting a local EP launch show at DV8 (7317 101 Ave.) on July 21st where they will be performing all the Greek themed tracks off the new release alongside Train Bigger Monkeys, Breaking The Silent, and Remnants. Doors are at 8 PM and advance tickets are $10 available through the bands. Find an event page here.

FALLUJAH Parts Ways With Singer ALEX HOFMANNProgressive death metallers FALLUJAH have announced the departure of their vocalist Alex Hofmann.
The band said in a statement: "A decade-long journey has just ended for one of our founding members, and now he begins a new path separate from our own. His dedication and creativity have been a vital part of FALLUJAH for the last ten years, but we respect his decision and support him wholeheartedly. "The 'Dreamless' touring cycle has been our longest and most challenging yet; taking us across the planet with bands we respect and admire while molding this band into a brotherhood. These experiences have brought us together and proven that this is what we are meant for. Alex's departure will bring a new period of growth and we intend to come out of it with something groundbreaking for our fans. "We will have a special guest taking over vocals for our festival run in Europe as well as our North American tour with DECAPITATED and THY ART IS MURDER. When we return to California, we will continue writing our new album and begin our search for a new vocalist. We invite all of our local friends and fans to join us in sending Alex off at Bay Area Death Fest; his last show, but a new beginning for us in FALLUJAH."
Hofmann adds: "The reasons for my departure are both complicated and difficult to summarize; but one thing I know now is that in order to begin a new chapter in life, you must inevitably close the previous one.
"FALLUJAH is currently on a nonstop skyward trajectory and my departure will not compromise this in the slightest. I love my bandmates to death and I will still be involved in a certain respect after my replacement is solidified. I have to also take the time to thank our manager and mentor EJ Johantgen, our A&R Monte Conner and everyone else at Nuclear Blast, our agents JJ Cassiere and Marco Walzel, Karim at Indiemerch and Florian at Impericon, as well as all the others who've ever worked with me behind the scenes keeping this band going. "Thank you to our fans for ten years of wild nights, stage dives, bloody noses, circle pits and hangovers. To my friends in the touring world, I'm not going anywhere, you will all see me around still. My last show with the band will be Bay Area Death Fest in San Francisco, and I cannot think of a better way to go out!" Bay Area Death Fest will take place at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco on July 20.
FALLUJAH will continue to with their juggernaut-like-momentum this year, with several European festivals (Brutal Assault, Summer Breeze, Ieperfest), a spot on Ozzfest Meets Knotfest, and an upcoming North American tour with THY ART IS MURDER, DECAPITATED and GHOST BATH.
"Dreamless" was released in April 2016 via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. The CD was recorded at Sharkbite Studios with producer Zack Ohren (ANIMOSITY, SUFFOCATION, ALL SHALL PERISH, DECREPIT BIRTH), and was mixed and mastered by Mark Lewis (DEVILDRIVER, CANNIBAL CORPSE, WHITECHAPEL, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, CARNIFEX) at Audiohammer in Sanford, Florida. Cover art was created by Peter Mohrbacher. 2

CYTOTOXIN – Gammageddon Album Preview StreamingGammageddon is the forthcoming new full-length from Germany-based, Chernobyl-themed death bringers, Cytotoxin. Captured earlier this year again at Kohlekeller Studios, Gammageddon centers itself on the city of Pripyat. Named after the nearby Pripyat River, Pripyat was founded on February 1970 as the ninth nuclear city - a type of closed city - in the Soviet Union, to serve the nearby Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. It was officially proclaimed a city in 1979, and had grown to a population of nearly fifty-thousand by the time it was evacuated the day after the Chernobyl disaster in 1986. The city is now a ghost town. Gammageddon serves as a soundtrack to the horrors leading to the evacuation with its unadulterated technical extremity. At a forty-minute run time, even the deepest, densest bunkers won't protect you from this massive overindulgence of radioactive brutality.
Gammageddon will be released on CD and digital formats via Unique Leader Records on July 21st. Physical preorders are available on Indie Merch, while digital preorders can be found on Bandcamp.
During the night of April 26th, 1986, a world-changing accident occurred at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in Ukraine. A catastrophic meltdown befell Reactor No. 4, resulting in core explosions and open-air fires. Copious quantities of radioactive materials and airborne isotopes were consequently dispersed into the atmosphere and surrounding lands. The disaster has been widely regarded as the worst accident in the history of nuclear power globally. As a result, Reactor No. 4 was destroyed and is being enclosed in a concrete and lead sarcophagus to prevent further escape of radioactivity. Large areas of Europe were affected by the accident. The radioactive cloud spread as far as Norway.
Moved by devastating consequences of the event, a German band called Cytotoxin pulverized the death metal world in 2010. In 2011, Cytotoxin released their self-produced full-length, Plutonium Heaven. Just one year later, they entered Kohlekeller Studios (Aborted, Benighted) to forge their critically-lauded Radiophobia full-length released via Unique Leader Records in 2012. A stunning display of musical precision, Metal Wani awarded the record a perfect 10/10 review calling it the, "most technical music I've ever heard," further lauding its, "well-structured slams and breakdowns... This music will make you headbang till you become Nearly-Headless Nicholas!...a milestone in the world of death metal."

UNISONIC Featuring Former HELLOWEEN Members Launch Official Video Trailer For Upcoming Live In Wacken ReleaseA an official video trailer for Unisonic’s upcoming Live In Wacken release is available for streaming below.
With their 2012 self-titled debut album, Unisonic unleashed a storm of enthusiasm. For the first time in 23 years, the two former members of Hamburg’s metal institution Helloween - Michael Kiske and Kai Hansen – reunited to play in the same band. More than a few metal fans might have shed a tear.
After the successful follow-up album Light Of Dawn (2014) a worldwide tour followed with memorable gigs in South America, Europe and Japan until Unisonic, still at full speed, brought their energy to the small village of Wacken where one of the biggest and most spectacular metal festivals in the world takes place every year.
The international all-star act consisting of Michael Kiske (Helloween) on vocals, Kai Hansen (Helloween, GammaRay) on guitars, Mandy Meyer (ex-Asia, ex-Gotthard, Krokus) on guitars, Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69 and successful producer of many top class hard rock acts) on bass guitar and Kosta Zafiriou (ex-Pink Cream 69) on drums entered the stage at last year’s Wacken festival and made the night ablaze with glorious metal. For the band it was a remarkable experience.
On stage the band showed their class and diversity; their sound is spiked with remarkable riffs and guitar solos, thundering grooves, classic metal hymns and hooks other bands would be dying to write. And on top the anthemic vocals of Kiske, whose “out-of-this-world” voice is so extraordinary and strong, he is often mentioned in the same breath with Bruce Dickinson, Rob Halford and Geoff Tate.
Like the studio albums, Live In Wacken was mixed and mastered by the band’s own Dennis Ward. This show was a very special occasion for the whole band, but possibly it was “the show of the life” for one band member… Kosta Zafiriou had in fact decided to focus only on the management side and to leave his drummer seat forever, after a lifetime spent between management duties and being a professional drummer.
2017 and 2018 will see Kiske and Hansen reunite with Helloween for the Pumpkins United World Tour.
The Unisonic show will be available on July 21st via earMusic on a limited CD+DVD (Digipak) and digital version. The bonus DVD includes the video recording of six songs from their spectacular performance.

ABHORRENT DECIMATION Release Lyric Video For New Track “Granted Indulgence”London-based extreme death metal group, Abhorrent Decimation, have released a lyric video for the new track “Granted Indulgence”, featured on their upcoming sophomore album, The Pardoner, hitting digital and physical retailers worldwide on July 28th, via Prosthetic Records. The clip is available for streaming below.
The ten track, 50 minute opus was recorded, mixed and mastered by bassist David Archer at Audio Empire. The intricate artwork for The Pardoner was created by German illustrator Karmazid, based on a visual concept by Vocalist Ashley Scott.
Conceptually, the album is an in-depth exploration into "The Pardoner", English poet Geoffrey Chaucer's most depraved and deceitful character from The Canterbury Tales. "The Pardoner" is a religious fraud and hypocrite who preaches against the love of greed, yet whose own love of wealth enabled him to profit off the sins of others. He claimed to work on behalf of the clergy, selling spiritual forgiveness for one's sins in the form of his pardons, which included forged "official letters" from high ranking church officials absolving one of their sins and bones and crystals blessed with healing powers. In Chaucer's story, "The Pardoner" tells a harrowing tale of three men whose materialism becomes the death of them.
Vocalist Ashley Scott comments on the lyrical content of the album: "Lyrically, the album opens with a scene setter. 'Pardoners' would often operate with a partner called a 'Soothsayer'. A 'Soothsayer' would visit a town prior to 'The Pardoner's' arrival. It was his job to stir locals up regarding their sins and the repercussions thereof. He would advise people that if they could find a 'Pardoner', they should do so and atone for their sins by buying a pardon or indulgence.
“Tracks 2 to 7 are the story 'The Pardoner' tells of the three men, avarice and Death. In many places throughout tracks 2 to 7, I actually use Middle English turn of phrase. In some places, I have used my own interpretation and translations of Chaucer's work and in other places; I introduced some of my own narrative and details. The idea was to create an obvious storytelling feel to this section, with word play and rhyme playing a major role in what I did, as I wanted to ring as true to the original as possible. Track 8 is my own conclusion of the inexorable nature of death and greed. Track 9 is an instrumental and then the record closes with Track 10, The Pardoner. A sort of self damning, confessionary monologue.
