DEATHSTARS Parts Ways With Drummer OSCAR 'VICE' LEANDERSwedish industrial rock band DEATHSTARS has announced the departure of drummer Oscar "Vice" Leander.
Leander, who started in DEATHSTARS as session drummer almost ten years ago became a full member in 2011, will play final last shows with the band in Mexico in July.
"After almost a decade of blood, sweat and darkness with DEATHSTARS, our journey has now come to an end," Leander said in a statement. "My aspiration to explore and to use my instrument in new areas has driven me to this decision.
"I wanna take the opportunity to say thank you to Andreas, Emil, Skinny and Eric for everything, and last but not least an even bigger salute to our crew and all our devoted fans around the planet. You all made this to a ride I will never forget."
Oscar has now joined TRIBULATION and will start playing live shows with them in June.
"We are still the best of friends, and we are pleased to see that Oscar joins our very good friends in TRIBULATION," said DEATHSTARS vocalist Andreas "Whiplasher Bernadotte" Bergh. "We will continue to hang out on a daily basis so on a personal level there isn't much of a change."
DEATHSTARS would like to emphasize that Oscar has been a very important part of the band during a long time and that the band has all the respect for his decision.
"We wish him the best, and we'll continue our journey," said DEATHSTARS bassist Jonas "Skinny Disco" Kangur and guitarist Emil "Nightmare Industries" Nödtveidt. "Right now we're focused on writing new material and start up a new chapter in the book of DEATHSTARS."
DEATHSTARS' fourth studio album, "The Perfect Cult", was released in June 2014 via Nuclear Blast. 4

IRON MAIDEN's BRUCE DICKINSON Delivers Defiant Message Of Solidarity Following Manchester Terror AttackBritish heavy metal legends IRON MAIDEN used their performance in Cardiff on Wednesday night to pay tribute to the people who died in Monday's terrorist attack in Manchester.
While introducing one of the songs from the band's latest album, "The Book Of Souls", MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson told the crowd: "There are various people running around the world at the moment with their fingers on various buttons and all this bullshit. It makes you wonder a little bit as to whether or not we are entirely safe in the hands of lunatics. But regardless of all that, we feel entirely safe in the hands of the eight thousand lunatics here tonight.
"The main fact of life at an IRON MAIDEN show is that we don't care where you're from, we don't care what religion you are, we don't care what color you are and we don't care what you had for breakfast. If you are here tonight, then, frankly, we all come in peace, all right?
"So, with respect to the — I'm only gonna refer to it probably once — the awful shit that happened the other night in Manchester, the biggest response that we can make to the bullshit and the people who want to hate and who want to destroy is to give them back love and joy and rock and roll."
Eariler in the week, IRON MAIDEN issued a statement expressing the band's shock at the Manchester terror attack, but promising fans that their remaining U.K. dates would go ahead.
The legendary heavy metal band has two more shows left on its U.K. tour: at London's O2 Arena on Saturday and Sunday.
The O2 has released a statement advising fans to turn up early. It reads: "Enhanced security is in place for all events. Please head down early and pack light as we only accept small bags into the area.
"Along with everyone else, we are shocked and saddened by the terrible tragedy in Manchester. Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected and their families."
IRON MAIDEN's "The Book Of Souls" world tour will return to North America for an extensive series of arena and amphitheater shows in June and July. Support on the trek will come from GHOST.

WE START WARS Feat. NITA STRAUSS: Video Footage Of Live DebutWE START WARS, the new all-female group led by Nita Strauss, the Los Angeles-based guitar shredder for the ALICE COOPER band, made its live debut this past Thursday, May 25 at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, California. Fan-filmed video footage of the concert can be seen below.
In addition to Nita, WE START WARS features Alicia Vigil (VIGIL OF WAR) on bass, Seana (a.k.a. Shauna Lisse) on vocals, Nicole Papastavrou on guitar, Katt Scarlett (FEMME FATALE) on keyboards and Lindsay Martin on drums.
Asked how WE START WARS came together, Strauss told The Front Row Report at last weekend's Rock On The Range festival in Columbus, Ohio: "WE START WARS, I always say it's the band I've always wanted to be in. When I was a young guitar player starting out, there wasn't really a lot of all-female bands that had a really high level of technique for me to look up to. I love Steve Vai, [Joe] Satriani, DREAM THEATER… That's my stuff, that's what I like to listen to. And the more I started to figure out, there's not a lot of all-female bands that play this kind of stuff, that play technical stuff. There's some incredible all-female bands and I'm not knocking all-girl bands by any stretch of the imagination. But I wanted one that was really technical. I wanted a drummer that plays really fast double bass. I wanted two guitar players that both play solos. I wanted a singer with a big range — which you have… Female bands have great singers. My keyboard player went to Berklee — [she's] an incredible musician. So I really got the full spectrum of great musicianship first and foremost, and that's what I'm really excited to showcase for the fans."
According to Nita, part of the reason she didn't launch WE START WARS earlier is the fact that quality female musicians are hard to come by. "A lot of times [when] I do press, I get this sort of snarky [question from interviewers], 'Well, why did it take you so long to put a band together?'" she said. "And I [usually tell them], 'How many female drummers do you know that live in this small area…?' I mean, I wanted to get local people to L.A., where I live. I didn't wanna bring people in from out of town. I've done it, and I always end up paying for their flight, and I just can't do it. So I really wanted to get local people that could be in a room in rehearsal when I'm gone. 'Cause I'm gone most of the year with Alice. So the girls in my band are super dedicated. They've been in the studio every day… a couple of times a week since I've been on this tour, and they're hitting it hard. So we're ready for the show."
Regarding the band's sound, Papastavrou told Guitar World: "I'd say it's super-melodic metal but also has a little bit of something for everyone. We wanted to broaden our audience — not do anything too aggressive, but there's still a little bit of heaviness in there." Strauss concurred, adding: "There's a lot of crossover appeal. Nicole and I probably have the heaviest influences in the band, but when it comes down to it, we make music a lot of people can enjoy."
WE START WARS' first single, "The Animal Inside", can be streamed below.
Strauss said of the band's name: "A phrase I heard years ago has always stuck with me: 'Some of the greatest wars in history were fought over a beautiful woman.'
"I've always been fascinated by the idea of the female warrior, someone who fights her own battles and doesn't take shit from anyone, and equally fascinated with the concept that a woman's love or defending her honor would be worth so much that people would actually put their own lives and the lives of others at risk over it. The most famous story everyone thinks of first is, of course, 'The face that launched a thousand ships,' Helen of Troy. But there was also Cleopatra and Marc Antony, Attila the Hun's invasion of Rome, Richard the Lionheart rescuing his sister Joan of England during the crusades, General Wu Sangui's betrayal, which led to the downfall of the Ming Dynasty in the 1600s, and the Celts uprising against the Roman Empire in AD 60. The list goes on and on.
"So that's the story behind the name — WE START WARS represents not only the battles that women face in daily life, but also the battles that have followed them throughout history.”

BROKEN HOPE Releases 'The Carrion Eaters' Video"The Carrion Eaters", the new video from death metal veterans BROKEN HOPE, can be seen below. The clip, directed by Maciej Pieloch, executes sumptuous gluttony digested in savage death metal as it reveals the twisted feeding rituals of cadaver craving subhumans.
"I'm really proud of 'The Carrion Eaters'. It's super-sick and catchy and rotten to the gore!" says BROKEN HOPE guitarist Jeremy Wagner.
"The Carrion Eaters" is taken from BROKEN HOPE's new album, "Mutilated And Assimilated", which will be released on June 23 via Century Media Records. Produced by Scott Creekmore, available formats include a limited-edition CD+DVD digipak in North America and in a special edition CD+DVD digipak in Europe; as well as digital and streaming versions available on all the major outlets worldwide.
"Mutilated and Assimilated" track listing:
01. The Meek Shall Inherit Shit (02:48)02. The Bunker (03:28)03. Mutilated And Assimilated (03:31)04. Outback Incest Clan (02:31)05. Malicious Meatholes (03:50)06. Blast Frozen (01:58)07. The "Mutilated and Assimilated" artwork was created by Wes Benscoter and can be seen below.
BROKEN HOPE in 2015 overhauled its lineup by adding bassist Diego Soria (DISGORGE) and guitarist Matt Szlachta (DIRGE WITHIN, CHIMAIRA).
BROKEN HOPE is:
Damian Leski - VocalsJeremy Wagner - GuitarsMike Miczek - DrumsMatt Szlachta - Lead GuitarsDiego Soria – Bass Regarding the follow-up to 2013's "Omen Of Disease", Wagner said: "BROKEN HOPE studio album number seven?! Un-fucking-believable! I'm floored at how amazing our new album turned out. The songs are relentless and violent and dark and heavy — and all from a fresh and ferocious place we haven't shared before. Moreover, thanks to my new studio and the stellar work of engineering/producing Jedi — Scott Creekmore — the production is on a sonic level like we've never had in our career.
"For me personally, I feel 'Mutilated And Assimilated' is my own finest hour as a guitarist and lyricist since I formed this band as teenager. I've never felt this inspired before. The album has my strongest riffage to date, it also has Leski riffage on a few songs, it has my best friends on it, and in a crazy twist, I used Jeff Hanneman's guitars to write the album with and used them to track with in honor of his influence on myself and the world of metal." 7

Today, 25 years later, EDGUY's founding members Tobias Sammet and the two guitarists Jens Ludwig and Dirk Sauer, as well as Tobias "Eggi" Exxel (bass) and Felix Bohnke (drums), who joined the band 20 years ago, can look back at their hugely successful career to shows in more than 40 countries, countless tours in Asia, Australia and America, ten studio albums and Top 10 chart entries from all over the world. To celebrate such an exceptional career with their fans, EDGUY will get back on the road. And while the live program will only contain the best material of their entire career, the new release will not be just a "greatest hits" album one would expect to accompany such a tour: The 2-CD/DVD-package "Monuments" — due on July 14 via Nuclear Blast — will include brand new material, their best tracks of the last 25 years, and old rarities that have never been published before. In addition, the DVD will include an entire show from EDGUY's "Hellfire Club" tour in 2004 as well as the complete collection of the band's video clips. The limited edition will include an extensive coffee-table book containing material from throughout the entire history of EDGUY.

The official lyric video for the new song "Ravenblack" can be seen below. Sammet states: "Whilst collecting all of this picture material together, we were once again made aware of how proud we are of what we have created.
"There are probably not many musicians who are lucky enough to be able to look back on a 25-year-old band history at the end of their thirties. And especially without any lineup changes in the last 20 years! This is even more incredible considering that we’re not from Birmingham, New York or a German metropolis but from a small town called Fulda, a place where you normally only know about the insights of the music business by hearsay. I mean, as kids we started to play EDGUY shows even before we had visited concerts as fans ourselves! Then we started to play shows outside our home town, then outside Germany and, all of a sudden, we found ourselves touring in Asia, America and Australia on a regular basis, because apparently there were people who liked our music. And they became more and more. For us, this always felt quite normal, the next step was all that mattered. We didn't think about what happened while things were happening. But if you look back now, you will realize how lucky we were!"
He continued: "It's now time to celebrate our anniversary with our fans. We'll celebrate our quarter century with the release of 'Monuments' and live in some selected cities! We'll perform a best-of set list, a journey throughout our past, with a lot of fuss and at full throttle!
"The first quarter century is over and we want to honour these years with our fans! To the next 25 years!" 8

BLIND GUARDIAN: 'Mirror Mirror' Video From 'Live Beyond The Spheres' AlbumGerman progressive power metal pioneers BLIND GUARDIAN will release a new concert album titled "Live Beyond The Spheres" on July 7 as a 3-CD and 4-LP box via Nuclear Blast. The set will include material recorded at various shows during the band's European tour in 2015. It will contain old classics, new tracks as well as songs that were very rarely performed during BLIND GUARDIAN's live shows.
BLIND GUARDIAN guitarist André Olbrich reveals why the time is right to release "Live Beyond The Spheres": "There's several different reasons why it's about time to release a live album. We've had a new rhythm section in the band — Frederik and Bahrend — for a couple of years now. Our interaction improved a lot by their joining and our songs developed a better groove and became more dynamic. The appearance of digital amp profilers and digital recording techniques also made it possible to create a fairly similar sonic image in different venues and to fulfil our image of what a perfect live album should be. Last but not least, we released three studio albums since our previous live album, and we didn't have any live recordings from our relatively current studio material. By compiling a three-disc package, we were able to create a very extensive and varied set list to reflect our thirty-year career with an optimal performances.
"We compiled one 'show' out of the best tracks from more than forty live performances, recorded during our European tour in 2015. That's how we pinned down the most beautiful and atmospheric moments on this medium," he adds.
The official video for the song "Mirror Mirror", taken from "Live Beyond The Spheres", can be seen below. André comments on the track: "'Mirror Mirror' is one of the biggest classics from BLIND GUARDIAN; known for being celebrated by both, band and fans, at the end of every live show."
BLIND GUARDIAN vocalist Hansi Kürsch speaks about the difficulties to create such an ambitious album: "In general, I would say that we've had a really good run on this tour and that nearly every show was perfect. But at the end of the day, after every bandmember has checked each and every song and concert of those 30 shows again and again. There were only like two or three versions of each song being suitable to be used for an album. We then had to decide between those last remaining versions, which would have been the most impressive one. This was a nearly endless task!"
He continues: "The songs finally chosen reveal such an energy that poissible smaller mistakes appeared to be totally unimportant for the evaluation. As soon as you have listened to the songs, you will know what I mean. They feel alive."
But the end result is well worth the effort. Hansi sums it up: "There is always something happening at each show, let's call it 'magic,' that is giving us all creeps. We are really satisfied when the people sing with us, have a good time and go back home happy."

METALLICA, PEARL JAM, SOUNDGARDEN, LINKIN PARK Members Pay Tribute To CHRIS CORNELL At Memorial Service (Photos)Members of METALLICA, PEARL JAM, LINKIN PARK, NIRVANA and JANE'S ADDICTION are among the friends and colleagues who paid their respects to SOUNDGARDEN singer Chris Cornell earlier today (Friday, May 26) as his ashes were laid in his final resting place.
The private event on the Fairbanks Lawn at Hollywood Forever Cemetery included eulogies by RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE's Tom Morello, PEARL JAM's Jeff Ament, LINKIN PARK's Chester Bennington and Brad Delson and SOUNDGARDEN's Kim Thayil and Matt Cameron. Bennington sang "Hallelujah" for mourners, which included Cornell's widow and two young children.
A photo of Cornell final resting place — located next to that of his friend, Johnny Ramone — can be found at TMZ.com. More photos from the service are available on the Daily Mail web site.
Cornell committed suicide on May 18 in a Detroit hotel room. The results of toxicology test are pending and will reveal what, if any, other substances besides his prescription medication Ativan were in his body at the time of his death.
Cornell took Ativan for anxiety, with his family's lawyer suggesting last week that side effects of the drug have been linked to suicidal feelings.
SOUNDGARDEN's longtime house engineer and tour manager, Ted Keedick, told TMZ that the vocalist seemed to be "high" and "fucked up" during the band's last performance in Detroit, hours before Cornell's death. He said that the singer was "out of character from note one of the show."
Cornell's remains were cremated on Tuesday (May 23). After 3:00 p.m. local time on Friday, following the private ceremony, the public is welcome to visit the gravesite. 5

GLENN DANZIG Is 'Open To Possibly Doing Some More Shows' With MISFITSGlenn Danzig says that he is open to performing with the MISFITS again after completing a two-show reunion run last fall.
After years of bad blood, Glenn reunited with bassist Jerry Only and guitarist Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein for concerts at both incarnations of Riot Fest in Denver and Chicago. Prior to those gigs, the trio last performed together on October 29, 1983.
Speaking to Rolling Stone about how the Riot Fest shows went, Danzig said: "I'd done it with Doyle before, but it was ... interesting. [Laughs] I couldn't hear myself, so it was exactly like the old days. So it is what it is. But everyone seemed to have a great time. I think it exceeded expectations, which is always good, and the write-ups were just insane."
Asked if the door is now closed on the reunion or if he would consider playing more concerts with the MISFITS, Glenn said: "We'll see. I'm open to possibly doing some more shows. I don't want to tour, but if it happens and everything lines up properly, I would imagine there'd probably be a couple more shows. I don't know when, but I'll keep an open mind."
Joining Glenn, Jerry and Doyle at the Riot Fest shows was drummer Dave Lombardo (SLAYER, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES) and second guitarist Acey Slade.
Only told Rolling Stone last September that he wanted the MISFITS reunion to continue. "I know Doyle wants it to continue. I know Glenn wants it to continue," he said. "We just have to be big enough people to make it continue. And that's where we're at. Whatever it takes. We're going into our fortieth anniversary, so the timing couldn't be more perfect."
The original MISFITS band broke up in 1983, and Only brought forth a new version of the MISFITS in 1995. Various members have come and gone, but Only, along with BLACK FLAG's Dez Cadena, has kept some form of the MISFITS in the recording studio and on the road for most of the last two decades.

WHITE WIZZARD Sign With M-Theory Audio For New Album Release This Fall2017 marks the return of true metal crusaders, White Wizzard. Mainman and bassist Jon Leon returns energized and re-joined by classic members vocalist Wyatt “Screaming Demon” Anderson and guitarist James J. LaRue for a new album of timeless heavy metal.
White Wizzard are recognized as one of the first bands to bring back classic/traditional heavy metal when they released High Speed GTO in 2009. Since then the band has released three full-length albums on Earache Records and toured across the US, Europe and Japan. Now re-teamed with their strongest members, White Wizzard are anxious to get back out there with plans already underway for dates in the fall supporting a new album on M-Theory Audio.
"White Wizzard is very excited to be signing with Marco Barbieri and M-Theory Audio. I’ve had several talks with Marco about his new label over the past few months and felt we shared a similar vision,” explains Jon Leon. “I came away feeling he was a really good guy and in the music industry for the RIGHT reasons and I felt like I could trust him, which is rare for me in this business. That inspired me to take a chance on someone that is on a path that I feel will be successful. Marco has a lot of passion for music and I am hopeful we can both find greater heights through this venture. White Wizzard has been through a lot of adversity and this album means a lot for many different reasons and it's something we are all very proud of. With Wyatt ‘Screaming Demon’ Anderson and James J. LaRue back in the band we have the best of our past whilst creating a vision to take it to the next level with a powerful dynamic musical force.”
White Wizzard is currently finishing up mixes for a new album with producer Ralph Patlan (Megadeth, UFO, Flotsam And Jetsam). Expect more details soon.
Singer Wyatt Anderson adds, “This is the best album we have put out to date. We’re excited for its release on M-Theory Audio and thanks to the fans for your continued patience and support. We will see you all in 2017/2018!"
M-Theory Audio is the new label helmed by Marco Barbieri, former president of Century Media Records and Nuclear Blast America. M-Theory Audio features a burgeoning roster that includes such notable acts as Nomadic folk metal group Tengger Cavalry, Pagan metal warriors Helsott, doom / psychedelic outfit Blackfinger (featuring former Trouble vocalist Eric Wagner), female-fronted symphonic metal band Graveshadow and progressive/power metal band Sicocis. 1

CRIMSON GLORY, CARNIVORE Classics To Be Reissued In June; Details RevealedBeginning June 2nd, Metalville Records is set to reissue physical CD versions of timeless classic titles licensed from the Roadrunner Records archive.
The series is set to kick off with one of the most unique bands ever - Carnivore. Digitally re-mastered and expanded, the band’s debut self-titled album was their introduction to larger-than-life vocalist/bassist Pete Steele, and even though Type O Negative's epic brand of gothic metal was still just a glimmer in his eye, in retrospect one can already recognize the fascinating range of creative contradictions that would always characterize the 6' 7" man's work. Petrus Steele (as he was then calling himself), guitarist Keith Alexander, and drummer Louie Beateaux generally focused their energies on incredibly brutal and intentionally raw full-on thrash-outs like "Predator”, "Carnivore" and "Legion Of Doom"; plus they wore the Mad Max apocalyptic caveman attire on the album's rear sleeve to back it up. This re-mastered reissue comes with three noticeably hardcore-infused 1986 demos for tracks that would emerge on their sophomore album, Retaliation, which was released the following year.
Also set for reissue June 2nd is a digitally re-mastered edition of Crimson Glory's second studio album, Transcendence. Originally released in 1988, the band could have easily taken the '80s hair metal path that was all the rage during that time, but instead opted to make the wise choice and sign themselves to lesser known labels, thus enabling them to have more control over their music production and develop as music artists. Crimson Glory started strong with their debut album (released in 1987), but unfortunately the band didn't have nearly as long of a career as their peers, and they broke up after their third album. But in between the debut and their breakup album, Crimson Glory managed to release this overlooked '80s prog metal masterpiece. Though they never achieved the popularity that Queensrÿche had received, they did acquire a massive cult following with Transcendence. In fact, barnstormers like "Lady Of Winter" and "Red Sharks" are almost ordinary in their no-frills head-banging intensity, and even the band's more "progressive" material, such as the ambitious "Burning Bridges" and the very eclectic "Eternal World”, don't venture out that far. Instead Crimson Glory show commendable restraint in their songwriting, and it is singer Midnight who ends up drawing the most unwanted attention due to his painfully strident delivery. The band proves their worth with this excellent release.
Metalville Records CEO Holger Koch states, "I have a great deal of respect for the work Roadrunner has done and continues to do for their artists. Cees Wessels and his team did a great job over the years, their A&R work was excellent. All of us at Metalville are very happy that we can give these classic releases a new life and offer a new generation of metal fans an enhanced listening experience to these seminal albums."

Exclusive: TSAR STANGRA Streaming Debut Album Celestial Forger In FullNeo-pagan/folk metal is an oft misrepresented sub-genre of metal. Basically, there are two camps. In camp number one, we have the party pagans - the merry drunkards who tend to get slurry and sloshed as they dance their way around the fire, gleefully belting out chants to a backdrop of piccolo and fiddle shredding. In camp two, we have the heathens - those barbarians who hold the heathen hammer high, whilst recreating - with precision and perfection - the rhythms and harmonies crafted by their forefathers, though with a decidedly metallic punch.
Leading camp two are Bulgarian-inspired black metallers, Tsar Stangra. Like the ruling Tsars of the Kingdom Of Bulgaria, the members of Tsar Stangra are devout in their love for the heritage of this beautiful and culturally rich country of Southeastern Europe.
The band's debut full-length effort, entitled Celestial Forger, is a mosaic of melodic music that blends mysticism with many uncommon elements found in today's pagan/folk black metal scene.
Inspired by the expertise of such legends as Negură Bunget, Drudkh, Rotting Christ, and Nokturnal Mortum, each and every song is then localized utilizing typical Bulgarian rhythms and harmonies.
The crowning achievement of this six-song epic journey - the 14-minute "The Volunteers Of Shipka" - channels listeners into realms of extremity where only terrestrial confines are the limit. In this composition, a canon of real pipe organ and lead guitar blends with blast beats and early-Emperor inspired riffing. As the journey continues, the song evolves into epic death metal crescendos, ending with a classic Bulgarian melody arranged as a military march. Each and every song is an exposition of ancient poetries from Bulgarian literature. BraveWords is streaming the new album in full before its release on May 26th. Listen to this majestic debut from the Bulgarian heathens!

MAX PORTNOY's NEXT TO NONE: 'The Apple' VideoThe official video for the song "The Apple" from the Pennsylvania-based metal act NEXT TO NONE, featuring drummer Max Portnoy (son of former DREAM THEATER drummer Mike Portnoy), can be seen below. The track is taken from NEXT TO NONE's second album, "Phases", which will be released on July 7 through EMP Label Group in North America, and InsideOut Music in Europe. The band recently completed its first ever European tour alongside labelmates HAKEN and is preparing to support Mike Portnoy's SHATTERED FORTRESS.
Formed in 2012, in the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania, the foursome released its well-received debut, "A Light In The Dark", in 2015 via InsideOut, before setting out to work on "Phases".
The new album features 12 tracks of powerful modern metal, recorded by the band at singer/keyboardist Thomas Cuce's home studio Battery Power Studios, and mixed by PERIPHERY bassist Adam "Nolly" Getgood.
Max Portnoy says: "It's a collective production, with all of the band having their say. We had strong ideas as to how we wanted this album to turn out, and if we'd brought in an outside producer, then this could have changed. So, it was best for us to stick together and follow our own vision."
The recording process started early last October, with drum parts being recorded at Neal Morse's Radiant Studios in Nashville; these sessions were engineered by Jerry Guidroz. Max says: "We then spent about four months at Thomas's home studio (Battery Powered Studios) doing the rest of the work; Thomas was the engineer for those sessions. We were in there every day until 3 a.m. I don't know how Kris coped, because he was going to school after we'd finished in the studio and getting just a couple of hours sleep."
He continues: "We're so excited to finally be releasing our new album. We feel it's a huge step forward for the band and shows a much heavier and much more technical side.
"This album is very special to us because it's the first time we recorded and self-produced our entire album. We were able to create music that is completely our own. Every note, every sound, every word, came from us and we can't wait for you all to hear it. I suppose you could say that we've done here is do more of everything we did before, but the greater experience we now have has helped us become better at what we want to do."
Cuce adds: "Working with Nolly on the mix has been one of the highlights of this recording for us. He captured the exact sound we wanted right from the start.
"Doing this upcoming tour with the SHATTERED FORTRESS will be a great opportunity to premiere this new material to an audience that will surely get where we're coming from."
"Phases" marks the recording debut of NEXT TO NONE guitarist Derrick Schneider, who came on a recommendation from band friend and former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal. Guitarist Ryland Holland departed NEXT TO NONE last year to attend Berklee College Of Music.
"Phases" track listing:

PROJECTED Feat. SEVENDUST, ALTER BRIDGE, TREMONTI Members: 'Ignite My Insanity' Album Due In JulyPROJECTED, the project featuring SEVENDUST members John Connolly (guitar) and Vince Hornsby (bass) alongside ALTER BRIDGE/CREED drummer Scott Phillips and guitarist/vocalist Eric Friedman (a.k.a. E-Rock; TREMONTI), will release its sophomore album, "Ignite My Insanity", on July 21 via Rat Pak Records. The two-disc collection is currently available for pre-order in various configurations at this location.
The follow-up to 2012's "Human", "Ignite My Insanity" features twenty-one all-new tracks from PROJECTED and continues to build upon the sound the band established with its debut. It is an album designed to resonate with fans from the members' original projects and guaranteed to garner new fans along the way. From the melodic piano interlude of the opener "Strike" to the raucous ending of closer "Battlestations", the new album takes the listener on a journey inside the minds of the band. Songs like "Six Feet Below", "Gomorrah", "Inhuman" and "Upside Down" are infectious rockers. The first single, "Reload", is a frenetic composition that showcases the musicianship of these accomplished performers. ALTER BRIDGE/TREMONTI songwriter Mark Tremonti co-wrote "Rectify" and "Call Me The Devil" and SEVENDUST's Morgan Rose co-wrote "Concede" with PROJECTED. On the subject of PROJECTED's new record, Connolly comments: "There are four very strong personalities in this band. Everyone has been in the business doing various things, from ALTER BRIDGE to CREED to SEVENDUST to TREMONTI, and it took all those elements and sounds to make this album what it is!" Phillips adds: "We're all part of other bands that we've put our heart and soul and life into and this was just a chance to extend that into somewhat of a different direction." Friedman comments: "When I think PROJECTED, the first words that come to my mind is a very raw and honest band. Things aren't overthought. It's very organic." Hornsby says: "We've been playing so long together, you know it's kinda like a marriage to a certain degree. It really warms my heart to be able to play with my friends and these great musicians."

IKILLYA Release “Every Man For Himself” Lyric VideoIkillya will release their new album, War For An Idea, on June 2nd via Urban Yeti Records. A lyric video for the track “Every Man For Himself” can be seen below.
Of the haunting song, frontman Jason Lekberg explained, "“Every Man For Himself” was written in response to a song from an artist I respect. His admission of god as a guiding force in his life made me sad that he felt he needed that support, or at least needed to share that commonality with others. Musically this is a very different song for us but writing it inspired further exploration on the album. We doubled all of the guitars with a glisstentar which helps give it that creepy vibe and ended up doing that many other times on the album."

DECAPITATED - Anticult Album Teaser #2 Streaming; VideoPolish metal extremists Decapitated have released a second teaser video for their upcoming seventh album Anticult, out July 7th via Nuclear Blast. Watch two teasers below:
Part 1:
Part 2:
The band recently dropped the new song "Never" (video below) which is available as an Instant Grat track for all fans who pre-order the album digitally via iTunes and Amazon. Anticult is available for pre-order here and here.
Anticult highlights just how vital Decapitated have remained two decades deep into their career. Decapitated have long been undeniable masters of their craft and they are expanding their parameters with Anticult, which should elevate the band's profile beyond the death metal realm in which it has dominated for years.
"Anticult represents the legacy and future of Decapitated," said guitarist Vogg. "We're extremely proud of the record, in both the song compositions and the production. This is the best representation of our music and we're really excited for the world to hear it!"
The album's massive musical leap forward is evidenced by "Never”. It's a song with an incredible bite and retains Decapitated's signature fury. But it's also undeniably catchy and takes up residence in your brain and stays there.
“”Never”, the first track we are showcasing from the record, is fast, it's technical, and most importantly, it's heavy," Vogg commented. "For us, it's what Decapitated is all about… and it will be really fun to play live. Enjoy it!"
Vocalist Rasta weighed in about the subject matter of "Never”, offering this insight into the lyrical content: "There is no mystical, doomish fate waiting for us. The only judgment pending is our own. The simple relationship between cause and effect is what determines our future. We are now witnessing something that should never have happened — our homes have become our civilization's grave."
Anticult tracklisting:
“Impulse”
“Deathvaluation”
“Kill The Cult”
“One-Eyed Nation”
“Anger Line”
“Earth Scar”

EXIST Release “Fault’s Peaks” Music VideoMaryland-based technical death metal outfit, Exist, will release their Prosthetic Records debut, So True, So Bound, worldwide on June 9th. A video for the album track “Fault’s Peaks” is available for streaming below.
Frontman Max Phelps says, “”Fault's Peaks”, the album closer, is probably the best overall representation of So True, So Bound and our sound as it includes all of our elements from psychedelia to heavy, dissonant riffing with a little improvisation sprinkled in. We've jokingly referred to this song as the 'bleed etude', as the right hand pattern is very reminiscent of the Meshuggah song off obZen, no shame there. This song was (and continues to be live) a real bitch to pull off technically, but it was worth it as we're very proud of the composition itself."
The self-produced album was mixed by Nolly Getgood (Periphery) and features eight forward-thinking tracks clocking in at just over 60 minutes. The album's artwork was completed by Sebastian Jerke (Ahab, Zodiac).
Formed in the late '00s by Phelps, who has cut his teeth as a touring member of Cynic and Defeated Sanity, in addition to acting as frontman for Death To All (touring tribute band to Chuck Shuldiner), the band is rounded out with bassist Alex Weber (Jeff Loomis), and guitarist Mathew Rossa. Drummer Hannes Grossman (Necrophagist, Obscura) lent his hand on the So True, So Bound recording, stating "Exist is hands down one of the most talented and musically interesting young bands out there. Deciding to record with them was a no-brainer."
Phelps added, "In absence of a drummer, Hannes Grossman stepped in as our session guy and fully delivered.”

BEARTOOTH Frontman: 'Depression And Anxiety Isn't Something You Just Get Away From'Columbus, Ohio-based hard rockers BEARTOOTH have released a video for "Sick Of Me", directed by Marc Klasfeld and featuring live footage shot by Kevin Slack.
The documentary-style clip follows the stories of four individuals struggling with depression and how each has channeled their energy into something positive to overcome it.
"It's rare that I am able to create a music video that allows other people to get their story across with such a positive message," notes Klasfeld. "I really hope it can help anyone afflicted with depression in some way."
BEARTOOTH frontman Caleb Shomo comments on his own battle with the disease: "Depression and anxiety isn't something you just get away from. It's just inside you. For me, it's just always in my brain churning. It's about fighting it and overcoming it; you can't run away from it. You have to deal with it. This song is a big way to help. At least for me, music has been implanted in my body and what I've connected with. When I go on stage, everything goes away. If you can choose that you will not let depression and anxiety run your life, you're going to make it. It's your body and your life and your choice."
Adds the band: "We would like to thank our guests Ernesto, Katie, and Portia for sharing their stories of their struggles with depression.
"If you or someone you love is experiencing signs of depression, please visit NAMI.org. To support, you can purchase a limited-edition 'Sick Of Me' t-shirt here. 100% of net proceeds will be donated to NAMI."
The deluxe edition of BEARTOOTH's latest album, "Aggressive", will arrive on May 26. The set will contain six bonus tracks, including an acoustic version of "Hated". Also included are an acoustic version of "Sick Of Me", live takes of the album's title track and "Rock Is Dead" from a BBC session, as well as concert renditions of "Fair Weather Friend" and "King Of Anything", recorded in the band's hometown.
For "Aggressive", Shomo again retreated to his home studio to write, perform and produce the album's twelve tracks, re-teaming with John Feldmann (THE USED, BLINK-182) for a bit of songwriting contribution and enlisting David Bendeth (KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, PARAMORE) to mix the release.
