Video Premiere: DEVILDRIVER's 'Trust No One'"Trust No One", the new video from California metallers DEVILDRIVER, can be seen below. The clip was filmed during the band's appearance at Ozzfest Meets Knotfest in Devore, California at the end of September.
"DEVILDRIVER is a California band and we were honored to be part of the return of Ozzfest in California, where it all began," said DEVILDRIVER frontman Dez Fafara. "I'm thankful to Sharon and Ozzy and everyone in the Osbourne camp that DEVILDRIVER was allowed to shoot a live video that day! The sun was blazing hot on a clear afternoon and the crowd went insane as soon as we took the stage. The pit was giant for us and it was killer to see such a massive crowd participating in the madness! Thanks to all who shared the memory and came out to support. Keep it heavy!"
"Trust No One" is the title track of DEVILDRIVER's seventh studio album, which was released on May 13 via Napalm Records. The follow-up to 2013's "Winter Kills" was once again produced by Mark Lewis (ARSIS, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, WHITECHAPEL, DEVILDRIVER, DEICIDE, SIX FEET UNDER) with assistance from Jason Suecof (AUGUST BURNS RED, DEICIDE, DEATH ANGEL). The new CD marks the group's first release since the departures of guitarist Jeff Kendrick and drummer John Boecklin and addition of axeman Neal Tiemann and former CHIMAIRA sticksman Austin D'Amond.
"Trust No One" entered The Billboard 200 chart at position No. 43 with first-week sales of just over 12,000 units — nearly all from pure album sales. The set follows the No. 32-peaking "Winter Kills", which was released in August 2013 and opened with 11,000 copies.
Fafara recently told Full Metal Jackie about the "Trust No One" album title: "I raised my children with a huge sticker on the refrigerator for a long time saying 'Question Authority.' And 'Trust No One' is basically along [those] lines. I don't think that 'Question Authority' would have worked for a title. But you've gotta really watch people, and you've gotta watch 'em before you bring 'em into your circle, and after you do bring them into your circle, then you've gotta watch 'em even closer. And as they exit, you'll realize that a lot of the times you bring in people, and as they exit, they are not, or were not, what they said they were the whole time they were in your life."
He continued: "I'm a very private person and my circle is very small. I have had some monumental fallouts over the years with some people, both personal and in business. And, basically, because you come to a realization where positivity is more important than anything in your life. And if someone is bringing you negativity, bringing you down, not having a good time with you or around whatever you are doing, you know, it's time to vacate the situation. 'Cause I am a glass-half-full guy; I'm always pretty positive, and I'm always willing to have a really good time. So, in the last couple years, that's been what's going on with me. I've been, 'Look, are you positive in my life? Okay, cool. Come around more. If you are not, I may lose your phone number.'"

Video: ANTHRAX's JOEY BELLADONNA Sings BON JOVI's 'Livin' On A Prayer'Video footage of ANTHRAX singer Joey Belladonna's classic-rock covers band called CHIEF BIG WAY performing the BON JOVI hit "Livin' On A Prayer" on July 29 at Lakesiders Sports Bar & Grill in Rochester, New York can be seen below.
The upstate New York-based group, which features Belladonna on drums and vocals, is rounded out by Dave Mickelson on bass, Joe Precourt on guitar and John Goodwin on keyboards.
In a 2011 interview with Attention Deficit Delirium, Belladonna stated about CHIEF BIG WAY: "It's a three-piece, sometimes a four-piece with keyboards. We play TRIUMPH, DEEP PURPLE, RUSH, VAN HALEN, LED ZEPPELIN, THE WHO, PINK FLOYD, HENDRIX, CREAM, all classic stuff. We also do PRIEST, SABBATH and DIO. It's all older, straight-up-hits-type stuff. I'm on the drums with the [vocal] headset. There are no props and no gimmicks. I sing the whole night."
Asked if it's difficult to sing and play drums at the same time, Belladonna said: "It's not an easy thing. I never thought that I would sing and play 'Tom Sawyer' [RUSH] at the same time. Something that you think is easy to play is often not. 'Heartbreaker' by LED ZEPPELIN has so many different [drum] accents that have nothing to do with the song vocally. It's a good challenge."
Regarding whether singing different styles of music in his side projects is good for him, almost acting like "exercises" to keep his vocals in shape, Belladonna told Tricia Weight: "Yeah, it [is]. I mean, now I've got more projects than I've ever had. Even at home I sing to records, that's how I learned to do it anyhow, I used to pull out the coolest records and sing to 'em all day long, before I went out [on stage]. And I do it now, even [on the way] to the gig. If we've got an hour drive tonight — I'm rocking the stuff on the iPod all the way there!" 4

Video Premiere: ROB ZOMBIE's 'Get Your Boots On! That's The End Of Rock And Roll!'Rob Zombie's video for the song "Get Your Boots On! That's The End Of Rock And Roll!" can be seen below. The track is taken from his latest album, "The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser", which debuted at No. 6 on The Billboard 200, having shifted 41,000 equivalent album units in the week ending May 5. It's the sixth solo Top 10 album for Zombie.
"The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser" was released on April 29 via UMe/T-Boy Records.
Regarding his decision to keep the new album and songs short, Rob told Rolling Stone magazine: "Whenever I go through records that I love and I listen to over and over and over, I go, 'Man, this record's short. That's why I loved it so much.' It's, like, thirty minutes, so I've listened to it nine thousand times, whereas you have other records where you go, 'Yeah, I know that record's great, but it's, like, seventy-five minutes long, or the tracks are, like, six minutes long.' Like, I'd go back and look at BEATLES records and go, like, 'These songs are like a minute-and-a-half long. They don't feel a minute-and-a-half long.' Even when… Later, on 'Magical Mystery Tour', I used to think, 'Oh, well, these songs are much longer.' But they're not really; they're still short songs, but they seem epic. I love long songs, but if you're gonna write a song that long, it's better be 'Freebird' or 'Stairway To Heaven' or something. It'd better be worth my time."
"The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser" was produced by Chris "Zeuss" Harris and features Zombie alongside guitarist John 5, bassist Piggy D and drummer Ginger Fish.

VISION OF DISORDER Releases 'Electric Sky' Video"Electric Sky", a brand video from New York's VISION OF DISORDER, can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's latest album, "Razed To The Ground", which wasreleased in November 2015 via Candlelight Records. Produced by Chris "Zeuss" Harris (HATEBREED, DEMON HUNTER, ROB ZOMBIE), it is the band's second recording for Candlelight.
"This song musically stood out to me when we started writing the record," said VISION OF DISORDER vocalist Tim Williams. "It's got this chaotic, red-lined, Imprint feel right from the jump off. Hearing it come to life in the studio with the vocals was inspiring. Then seeing it become the top pick for a video was just incredible."
Recorded during July and August 2015, "Razed To The Ground" contains ten hearty and provocative new songs from the hardcore luminaries. Williams notes: "We are very excited for our fans to hear this record. We believe it offers everything VOD does well. I am especially excited about the growth of the songs; the brutality, the melody, and the overall sound of the record." Bassist Mike Fleischmann adds: "As a band, VISION OF DISORDER strives to evolve musically with each album. Having Zeuss as producer really allowed us to achieve that goal. 'Razed To The Ground' contains some of this band's finest moments and we are extremely grateful to Candlelight that we have been given the opportunity to demonstrate that we are still at the top of our game." Questioned about the album's first single, "Hours In Chaos", Williams stated, "Upon hearing the first riffs of the song, I knew it was gonna be a monster and needed strong vocals and lyrics to bring it where it needed to be. It is a song to awaken people to what is going on around them; the unrest, the guns, the utter disregard for human life. The world has become a dangerous place. I feel I have illustrated the feelings of anxiety and insecurity that is so prevalent today." Guitarist Mike Kennedy asserted: "This song embodies everything that is VOD. Politically relevant and musically explosive, 'Hours In Chaos' is one of the most raw and powerful tracks VOD has ever written. Lyrically, it is a stark reflection of the state of the world today. The frenetic pace of the song mirrors the chaos we see on the streets. The vilification of the police by media and citizens alike is simply the status quo today. 'Hours' shines a harsh spotlight on these events and the tragedies surrounding them." "Razed To The Ground" came three years after the release of "The Cursed Remain Cursed", the first newly recorded material by the band in over ten years.
"Razed To The Ground" track listing:
01. Heart Of Darkness02. Hours In Chaos03. Electric Sky04. Razed To The Ground05. The Craving06. Cut My Teeth07. Red On The Walls08. Nightcrawler09. Severed Wing10. Amurdica: A Culture Of Violence VISION OF DISORDER is guitarist Mike Kennedy, drummer Brendon Cohen, vocalist Tim Williams and bassist Mike Fleischmann.

STITCHED UP HEART Releases Music Video For 'Catch Me When I Fall'STITCHED UP HEART's powerful, new music video for "Catch Me When I Fall" can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's debut full-length offering, "Never Alone", which came out on June 17 via Another Century.
STITCHED UP HEART singer Mixi states: "This video was so much fun! I got to be a princess for a day in a castle. I think every girl dreams of that. Plus, we had a demon that the boys tried to save me from.
"It was interesting watching how all the different scenes come together. For the falling in a crystal ball part, it was shot on green screen while crew members moved my dress with light sabers and blew wind in my face.
"It was challenging for all of us to act our parts, but we had an amazing director and crew. Everyone worked so well together and overall it was a great learning experience for us.
"The story is that I'm mesmerized by a light which is actually my inner demons. I blindly follow it as it tries to trap me and when I finally realize what it is, it's too late. The guys all are searching for me because they see that I'm in trouble. I'm falling into my demon's trap and they're trying to save me, to catch me when I fall. The message of the song is the same, it's a call for help. Knowing that sometimes you need those who care about you to help you through tough times in life. It's really kind of a breakthrough song.
"With 'Finally Free', we had a heavy anthem which grabs your attention right away. 'Monster' was a little more experimental and a bit heavier. 'Catch Me' has a little more mainstream feel to it. We think it will help us reach a larger audience and help us spread the overall message of hope. That when life gets you down, you can get back up whether through sheer will power or with the help of loved ones."
STITCHED UP HEART is described in a press release as "a band built around the strength that comes from realizing we are the only ones that control our lives, and focused on the hope that reminds us there is always light at the end of the darkest tunnel. It's something heavy and powerful, jarring the album's epic closing track 'I Can't Breathe' from a piano-paced ballad that would do Lady Gaga proud, to a metallic onslaught of drop-tuned guitars that is sure to see the band sharing a stage with the hardest of their hard rock peers. And it is something undeniable, Mixi's voice taking flight amidst anthems of self-awareness that bridge the unrelenting confidence of IN THIS MOMENT's Maria Brink and the soulful transcendence of Adele."
STITCHED UP HEART will perform at The Epiphone Revolver Music Awards, which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, December 13 at Webster Hall in New York City.

CORROSION OF CONFORMITY: Quality Footage Of North Carolina State Fair PerformanceQuality video footage of CORROSION OF CONFORMITY's October 21 performance at the North Carolina State Fair in Raleigh can be seen below (video by Randy Ada).
CORROSION OF CONFORMITY is currently working on material for its upcoming studio album, tentatively due in 2017 via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. The effort will mark the band's studio reunion with guitarist/vocalist Pepper Keenan and the Pepper-fronted version of C.O.C.'s first full-length record since 2005.
CORROSION OF CONFORMITY's new album is being helmed by longtime producer John Custer, who has recorded such C.O.C. classics as "Deliverance", "Wiseblood", "America's Volume Dealer" and "In The Arms Of God".
CORROSION OF CONFORMITY bassist Mike Dean told TeamRock back in August: "We're currently writing it and we have a whole lot of material that we are just trying to narrow down. We're trying to get 25 rough ideas down to between 12 and 15 songs that we'll record and release next year. Four or five of them are pretty much whole formed songs."
Part of the reason for the delay in the new album's completion has been the fact that CORROSION OF CONFORMITY has been deluged with tour offers since Pepper's return to the band in 2014.
"We keep saying yes to tours!" Dean said. "We've always been in demand, but with Pepper back, it's even more so."
Pepper told FreqsTV last year that it was "such a pleasure" to play CORROSION OF CONFORMITY songs again. "I'm sure all of us would agree we're not really the kind of guys to go backwards, but it's been fun to do, and it's kind of enlightened me in a bunch of different ways of guitar playing, singing and whatnot," he said. "But it still just boils down to plugging in and playing — keeping your head in the right spot where you're not losing focus, and dropping the hammer as good as you can."
Keenan added: "To be honest with you, I can't complain. I wasn't sure quite what to expect, but people are showing up, it's fucking packed, and I think it's a good catalyst for us to go from here, if we want to, to see if we can still do it. It's not a novelty act, we're not going totally backwards, but the songs still stand this day as good as they did then, if not better. I think we're actually playing 'em better than we did back then."

Video: Reunited ROCK GODDESS Performs New Song At France's FESTIVAL DE VOUZIERSFan-filmed video footage of the reunited original lineup of ROCK GODDESS — the female power trio from the days of NWOBHM (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal) featuring sisters Jody and Julie Turner along with bassist Tracey Lamb — performing a new song called "Back Off" on October 29 at the Festival De Vouziers in Vouziers, France can be seen below.
ROCK GODDESS's forthcoming comeback album is tentatively due next year.
Lamb previously said that the new material was "sounding mega and awesome" and added that playing the band's classic songs felt "weird but wonderful."
ROCK GODDESS was formed in 1977 in Wandsworth South London by Jody Turner (guitar and vocals) and Julie Turner (drums) when they were thirteen and nine years old, respectively. They recruited school friend Tracey Lamb on bass guitar.
ROCK GODDESS first rose to the nation's awareness when they were first featured in Kerrang! No. 5 in 1981 in the "Armed And Ready" section as one of the bands to watch out for. After recording a four-track demo tape and an appearance at the Reading Festival in 1982, sharing a bill with IRON MAIDEN, plus regular shows at the Marquee club, the band landed a contract with the A&M label. They recorded their eponymous debut album with producer Vic Maile in 1983 and hit the lower end of the charts. A follow-up album, "Hell Hath No Fury", arrived a year later, by which time Lamb had left the band to form SHE and later to join GIRLSCHOOL.
After their contract with A&M expired in 1987, ROCK GODDESS' already recorded (in 1985) third album, titled "Young And Free", was released only in France. The effort saw the band taking on a more commercial sound.
ROCK GODDESS' career was cut short by financial and contractual problems, which forced them to disband shortly thereafter.
ROCK GODDESS did briefly reform in 2009 and was due to play Hard Rock Hell festival in Prestatyn, and was also booked to perform at the Headbangers Open Air festival in Germany the following summer, but split before they had a chance to appear at either event.
In March 2013, it was announced that the original ROCK GODDESS lineup had reunited and would start recording a new album. 1

X JAPAN Drummer YOSHIKI Receives Asian Icon Award - "If There's A Wall Between East And West, It Is Getting Lower And Thinner"X Japan founder/drummer Yoshiki performed at the Classic Rock Awards held at Ryogoku Kokugikan this past Friday, November 11th. He opened the prestigious annual award show -- hosted by the UK-based magazine Classic Rock -- with a striking classical piano performance. Later that night, Yoshiki made history by becoming the first-ever artist to be honored with the Asian Icon Award.
Based at the venerable Roundhouse venue in London, the Classic Rock Awards are widely recognized by the world's rock stars as the "annual must-attend event," bringing together artists from rock's global Hall of Fame. The show was held in Japan this year for the first time ever, and with this memorable timing Yoshiki became the first Asian artist to accomplish this great achievement. Rock royalty including Jeff Beck, ELO, Jimmy Page, Joe Perry, Def Leppard, Richie Sambora, Cheap Trick attended the event and gave Yoshiki rave reviews for his performance featuring classical renditions of David Bowie's "Space Oddity" and X Japan's masterpiece "Art Of Life."
Yoshiki: "So many artists in Asia are going overseas and Asian rock is growing worldwide. X Japan is proud to be one of them and if there's a wall between East and West, the wall is getting lower and thinner. I'm going to break this wall. It's an honor to receive this award. I would like to dedicate this award to the members of X Japan, especially Hide and Taiji. Thank you very much."
Yoshiki recently spoke to South China Morning Post about the band's forthcoming English language - their first - and the award winning We Are X documentary. Following is an excerpt from the story:
Though X Japan have been performing around the world since reuniting in 2007, Hayashi admits they are not widely recognised outside of Asia. That may change now, as the new album will be sung in English – breaking down the language barrier that critics believe has stopped the band reaching a wider audience.
“There are still a lot of challenges ahead. I don’t know how many people in the West are ready for artists such as us, coming from the East. There are still walls between the East and the West, a culture barrier. Being an artist from Asia, to go overseas and to perform in Western countries, it’s not easy.”
He reckons X Japan is helping pave the way for the next generation of Asian artists.
“We want to break that wall for new artists so they can become popular anywhere in the world.”

Drafthouse Films has announced today that they will release Stephen Kijak's We Are X in New York and Los Angeles on October 21st, followed by nationwide expansion. Since its premiere at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival--where it was awarded the Special Jury Prize for editing--the film has continued to garner critical acclaim due to its remarkably candid portrayal of its enigmatic subject, Yoshiki, leader of the Japanese band X Japan.
Since then, We Are X has played to sold-out audiences on the festival circuit, including at the 2016 SXSW Film Festival and was the most tweeted about topic during the week of SXSW only after the festival's keynote speaker, President Barack Obama. Audiences at both the Sundance and SXSW screenings were treated to exclusive performances by Yoshiki, and similar eventized concert presentations of the film are planned for its theatrical release.
"You will not believe the trials and tribulations that the arena-filling, mega-band X Japan have faced in their 30 year career," says Drafthouse Films founder Tim League. "This documentary will leave you equally breathless and uplifted. It is the best music doc of the year, and we are honored to bring it to American audiences."
"After spending two years making this film, we are really delighted that the uniquely experienced Tim League, Tom Quinn and Drafthouse Films will be masterminding its theatrical life in the U.S.," says John Battsek of Passion Pictures. "Their passion and commitment to the film mirror ours and we are excited to work with them through the film's release."
From the production team behind the Oscar-winning Searching for Sugar Man comes We Are X, a transcendent rock & roll story about X Japan, the world's biggest and most successful band you've never heard of...yet.
Under the enigmatic direction of drummer, pianist, composer and producer Yoshiki, X Japan has sold over 30 million singles and albums combined--captivating such a wide range of admirers as Sir George Martin, KISS, Stan Lee, and even the Japanese Emperor--and pioneered a spectacle-driven style of visual rock, creating a one-of-a-kind cultural phenomenon.
Chronicling the band's exhilarating, tumultuous and unimaginable history over the past three decades--persevering through personal, physical and spiritual heartache--the film culminates with preparations for their breathtaking reunion concert at New York's legendary Madison Square Garden. Directed by acclaimed documentarian Stephen Kijak (Stones in Exile, Scott Walker: 30 Century Man), We Are X is an astonishingly intimate portrait of a deeply haunted--but truly unstoppable--virtuoso and the music that has enthralled legions of the world's most devoted fans.
The film was produced by John Battsek of Passion Pictures, producer of two Academy Award winning documentaries (Searching For Sugar Man, One Day in September). 1

THERE IS NO US Enter Studio With Terry Date, Announce New Generation Of Failure EPPhoenix, Arizona's There Is No Us have revealed details of their forthcoming sophomore EP, Generation Of Failure, tentatively scheduled for release in Spring 2017. Combating a range of current trending topics from celebrity-turned-president elect Donald Trump, the current economic inequality and political corruption sweeping the nation to keyboard warriors and online bullying, Generation Of Failure shows a more focused and enraged There Is No Us than ever before.
There Is No Us have enlisted legendary producer / mixer Terry Date (Pantera, Deftones, Slayer) and are currently mixing the new EP at his studio in Seattle, WA. Date commented, "With the current events in America, the message in their music is as important and relevant as ever, and that's exciting".
Vocalist Jim Louvau revealed, "When Andy (guitarist) and I very first started working together, we were writing songs with Terry Date in mind, so it felt like the perfect match when he decided he wanted to be a part of the project." Further explaining their creative goals, Louvau adds,"Terry's back catalogue of records are some of the most important metal releases of all time, but what really struck us was newer records he's produced like Bring Me The Horizon's Sempiternal."
Formed in early 2015 as part of an experimental jam session between Louvau and bassist Andy Gerold (Marilyn Manson, Ashes Divide), There Is No Us is a social movement to expose the failure of the human race. Inspired by the powerful aggression they formed lyrically and musically, the duo added bassist Amy Abramite and guitarist Jared Bakin to the fold and released their debut EP, Farewell To Humanity in September of 2015. Audiences and influencers immediately took notice and the band made their debut performance opening for LetLive in Las Vegas. The band has since appeared on stages with acts ranging from mathcore outfit The Dillinger Escape Plan to hard rock group Tremonti across the West Coast. As a strong underground following began, peers in their genre praised the group, including Filter vocalist Richard Patrick lauding Louvau as "one of the greatest voices in the scene".

WEAPONS OF ANEW Featuring HAVOCHATE, SPREAD EAGLE Members Premier “Killshot” Music VideoWeapons Of Anew, the new band featuring members of HavocHate and Spread Eagle, follow last Friday’s digital release of the track "Killshot" (OK!Good Records) with a brand new video, available today.
Filmed at Hammer Hands Gym and directed by Ron Geffen, the hard-hitting clip follows a contentious boxing match between actors/boxers Amber Skyes and Julian Rodriguez, illustrating the song's theme of the struggle between love and hate, interspersed with band in live action, also inside the ring.
The video is based on a treatment written by frontman Ray West, who also penned the lyrics for the song. "Ray had written a treatment with a girl beating the breaks off a guy," said bassist Stefan 'Reno' Cutrupi. "Once we met Ron and discussed the concept, all of the pieces kind of just fell into place."
The video was a departure for director Geffen, though, who focuses more of his work on pop and EDM artists. "It was a fun time," he said. "I believe the video depicts the emotions and feelings of the band, and how they are able to put those emotions into words."
"Ron is a hard worker that really hustles, so he and I definitely bonded quickly," guitarist Freddy Ordine said. "Amber is actually Ron's girlfriend and she has a hell of a right hook! She was actually punching Julian in the face with the first punch. Ron now knows not to piss her off!"
The shoot was the first time in a ring for the members of Weapons Of Anew, even if they didn't throw any punches themselves. "It actually felt very small," Reno said. I give boxers even more respect than I already did. That feeling of no getting away from your opponent really hit home."
Added West: "It was very comfortable. I love to perform and to be on sets. I even love the endless takes. My fave is singing in double time. It's very humbling."
"Killshot" is available for purchase via iTunes, and Bandcamp.
After whetting fans' appetites with "Killshot”, Weapons Of Anew will soon announce more information on their upcoming debut full-length album.

Finland’s THE NIGHTS Featuring TONY MILLS BAND Singer SAMI HYDE Ink Label DealFrontiers Music Srl has announced the signing of a promising melodic rock band from Finland, The Nights.
The Nights was formed in the summer of 2015 by Sami Hyde (vocals) and Ilkka Wirtanen (guitar). Both Sami and Ilkka have successful careers in music, in Finland and abroad.
Sami has been a singer for many acts and projects, including the Tony Mills Band (Shy, TNT) in 2008 which also included Geoff Nichols (Black Sabbath) on keyboards and Neil Hibbs (Shy) on guitar. He has also written songs for many artists, including The Magnificent ("If It Takes All Night", "Lost", and "Drive").
Ilkka Wirtanen is best known for his work as a producer with international acts like glam metal band Reckless Love, for whom he has produced four albums and co-written many of their popular songs, including "Hot" and "Night On Fire". He has also produced several other rock bands (Baton Rogue Morgue, Hellcity Punks) and worked as a mixer for international acts (S.E.X. Department).
The Nights was formed because Sami and Ilkka felt a common need to write songs that “make you feel good and also give tribute to our everlasting heroes in music, for example TNT and Yngwie Malmsteen.” Frontiers interest was piqued by their songs featuring a superb mixture of classic pop melodies and modern melodic rock/metal production and the band was signed. 1

DEEP PURPLE Perform “Space Truckin’” Live At California Jam 1974; Rare Video StreamingRare video of Deep Purple performing the Machine Head album classic, “Space Truckin’”, live at California Jam in April, 1974 can be seen below.
“This live version of “Space Truckin’” is the original broadcast version. It's truly exhilarating and features Ritchie Blackmore, Jon Lord, Glenn Hughes, Ian Paice and David Coverdale.”
Deep Purple bassist Roger Glover recently issued the video message below, offering news on the band’s new studio album. The upcoming release was recorded in Nashville in February, and is expected to be released in spring 2017. Find out more below:
On December 9th, Wymer Publishing will issue a deluxe Deep Purple photo book, For One Night Only by Jerry Bloom.
Deep Purple’s reunion in 1984 was a dream come true for its legions of fans: Particularly as it reunited the classic lineup that had split in 1973. Following the release of the comeback album Perfect Strangers they embarked on a nine-month world tour, kicking off in Australia in November ‘84 and working its way around the globe, taking in North America and Japan before the band reached Europe in June 1985.
Purple played four sold out shows in Sweden, two large festivals in Germany, three gigs in France and many more around the continent. Yet in their homeland fans had to settle for just one open-air concert at Knebworth House in Hertfordshire on June 22nd. It was the wettest June day since records began but for the 75,000 who attended it was an experience to savour, with many too young to have seen Purple in the seventies, witnessing them for the first time.
For One Night Only is a celebration of that day, based around the huge number of previously unpublished photos of the event.
According to Sounds photographer Tony Mottram who had braved the weather all day, prior to Purple taking the stage, they were all moved from the press pit. Fortunately it didn't deter the photographers too much and whilst some took photos from further back, Alan Perry had wormed his way into the front of the crowd to take his shots. Mick Gregory however was fortunate enough to be allowed to stand on Jon Lord's side of the stage and his photos offer a different perspective.
For One Night Only also looks at the build up and the aftermath with the story told by Purple aficionado Jerry Bloom. Drawing on interviews and memories from the band and crew it also includes personal recollections from the photographers, the fans and much more.
This hardback 128-page book is a strictly limited edition of 300 with each one individually numbered and signed by the author. Complete with a sturdy flight case this special item also comes with four A4 frameable prints reproduced on quality 400gsm premium board.
Considering used ticket stubs for the gig are often sold on eBay for £20 or more, we feel that this is a superb opportunity to own what will inevitably become a collector's item in its own right. These will sell quickly so once they are gone that's it!
Order now and get it delivered before Christmas. 7

METALLICA's JAMES HETFIELD: 'There's Certainly No Way We'd Be Around If There Was No MOTÖRHEAD'On October 31, Gary Moore of the 95.5 KLOS radio station conducted an interview with METALLICA frontman James Hetfield. You can now listen to the chat using the widget below. A couple of excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).
On METALLICA's upcoming tour in support of the "Hardwired... To Self-Destruct" album:
James: "The 'WorldWired' tour is happening now, and we're booking out the next couple of years and where we're gonna go and how we're gonna get there and what it's gonna look like. So we're pretty excited about that. We're still trying to figure out what makes most sense for us, how can we get the best out of our time, playing the best places with the time that we do have and wanna put into this on the road. It's changed a little bit for us. You know, you're getting older and you wanna still do what you're doing, and it takes a little more time to do it. So we're not out there killing ourselves on a three-year, five-shows-a-week tour. So we're working this out how it needs to be now, I guess, age appropriately [laughs], so my body can survive it."
On bands that have yet to be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame:
James: "There are so many great bands that haven't been acknowledged with that, and if they do or don't, it's really not up to me. But it is just a nod, it's a tip of the cap. And what does it really mean to be in there? I don't know. But to some of these bands, it might mean the world. But, absolutely, and, unfortunately, with the passing of Lemmy, it's really, really important for me to see MOTÖRHEAD acknowledged in that, 'cause there's no more rock and roll person on this planet than Lemmy and MOTÖRHEAD."
On METALLICA's MOTÖRHEAD tribute on "Hardwired... To Self-Destruct":
James: "[It's] a song called 'Murder One', which was the name of [Lemmy's] amplifier, his favorite amp on stage. And I loved being murdered every night by that thing, man. He was just such an icon, such an inspiration to us as a band. There's certainly no way we'd be around if there was no MOTÖRHEAD. And, you know, to see your idol, your immortal one, actually be mortal, it hit us pretty hard. So I felt, lyrically, it makes sense to acknowledge him and how much he's meant in our lives."
The long-awaited follow-up to 2008's "Death Magnetic", "Hardwired... To Self-Destruct" is due out November 18 and consists of two discs, containing a dozen songs and nearly 80 minutes of music. 3

HAMMERFALL Guitarist Says Drummer ANDERS JOHANSSON's Departure Was 'A Huge Shock'Matt Coe of Dead Rhetoric recently conducted an interview with guitarist Oscar Dronjak of Swedish metallers HAMMERFALL. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.
Dead Rhetoric: Was it a shock to lose long-time drummer Anders Johansson in 2014 after the release of your last album, "(r)Evolution", and have you found a permanent replacement or are you still using temporary/ fill-in members until you are satisfied with the right member for HAMMERFALL?
Dronjak: "It was a huge shock, and a huge disappointment initially too, because he didn't say anything to us. He didn't even notify us when it happened. We found out from our booking agency, actually. They wrote us an e-mail saying that 'well, since Anders is no longer going to be touring these next shows, we need a name to be able to start securing the plane tickets and visas. Who is your new drummer?' And we were, like, 'Wait. What are you saying?' It's a typical Anders way of doing things, and it felt weird. It was the end of the relationship. It felt like being dumped by your girlfriend after 15 years without her telling you why, basically. To this day, I still don't know why it happened, because I haven't spoken to him. I've gotten some texts and stuff. What I think happened is he saw the touring plans that we had. He has been touring since the early 1980s; he's 10 years older than I am and he's done this for a long, long time. He was tired of touring the same cities over and over again. I just think he was tired of the grind — he didn't want to go through this again. He has a new family; at that point, he had a son that was two years old, and also another on the way. That played a role for him too, being away from the family for a while. I can respect and understand that totally. I just wish he would have told me in person, but that was what happened. So we got David [Wallin] afterwards. That was a blessing in disguise that Anders took this step because David has invigorated the band quite a bit. He's four years younger than I am; it's not much, but with the attitude he has, he hasn't done a lot of big stuff. To have David on board has been a big shot in the arm for everybody else, especially live. The gigs have been much more energetic since he's appeared with the band. I think we sound better than we ever have."
Dead Rhetoric: Did you ever imagine at the start of HAMMERFALL's career that we would be talking about a group with a 23-year-plus history now promoting your tenth studio album, "Built To Last"? What do you think are the keys to your longevity?
Dronjak: "To answer the first part: there was no way in hell that we thought this would ever go anywhere. When I formed the band in 1993, metal was something that people spit on, basically; melodic metal, the way that we did things, was a genre that people wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole. We were laughed at quite a bit, doing shows and stuff, they would ask us if we knew that the '80s ended a few years ago. That sort of attitude. We always said that it doesn't matter — we are not doing this to become rich and famous because it would be insane to do that in the 1990s. We were doing this because we love it; there was never any other motive other than that. We released our first album in 1997, and we thought if it sells a couple of thousand copies worldwide, then we will be happy. The height of our dreams at that point, because that's what we thought was realistic. And then, all of a sudden, we found ourselves on a roller coaster, just running away with us in it. And now we sit here twenty years later and this is incredible. The second part of your question is a little bit interesting because I think this ties into what I was saying before — we did this because we love the music and we are fans of heavy metal. We have been fans of heavy metal since we were kids, and still are to this day. We have a vision of how HAMMERFALL is supposed to sound. This is a type of band that we are. There was never any identity crisis ever in HAMMERFALL or should we go in this direction musically. We always wrote the songs that we wanted to hear ourselves. We also had a lifetime of heavy metal experience, even though it was as fans. We had a vast knowledge of the genre, so that has a lot to do with why we were able to stay relevant for such a long period of time. I guess it comes back to the fact that we love what we do — and if you love what you do, and you do it well, it's going to last for a while."
Dead Rhetoric: This is also your first record with your new label Napalm Records after spending your entire HAMMERFALL career on Nuclear Blast. Was it time for a fresh start, and do you enjoy the challenge of how another strong metal label will handle activities for the band?
Dronjak: "The reason we left Nuclear Blast was it's not like we had any real disagreements with them or anything. It was more a case of us, after 18 years, wanting to try something new. We wanted to find people that actually believe that HAMMERFALL can still grow, and not just (be) content with releasing an album in the same way that they have done because if it's worked in the past, it will work now. We wanted them to help us further our career, and make us feel that we have a chance at doing that. With Nuclear Blast, it's now a case of them having way too many bigger bands, and we would be lost in the shuffle. With Napalm, they don't have that. I think Napalm is like Nuclear Blast was 15-20 years ago. That's the type of feeling I get, they have a young and enthusiastic staff of people. Although smaller, they are on the rise — and that's what made the difference for us in the end. We were never dissatisfied with Nuclear Blast; we just wanted to move on to keep things fresh."
You can read the first part of Dead Rhetoric's interview with Dronjak at this location. The second part is available here.

'FAST' EDDIE CLARKE Recalls MOTÖRHEAD's Near-Reunion In Late '90sFormer MOTÖRHEAD guitarist "Fast" Eddie Clarke spoke to EonMusic about a reunion of the band's classic lineup that almost happened nearly two decade ago. He said: "I talked about it in the late nineties with [MOTÖRHEAD mainman] Lemmy. I had a serious conversation with him, and it was looking pretty good. It was kind of like; not to upset the present band — we were going to come up with maybe an acoustic thing, or one of them unplugged things, but do it in a really sort of different way; get [a female orchestra] in all the suspenders and stockings, and cellos and all that — try something like that. And obviously I’d have loved to have gotten back together, but Lemmy, he couldn't face down his band, really — he felt too guilty."
Clarke was a member of MOTÖRHEAD from 1976 until 1982. He was one-third of the band's classic lineup, which also included drummer drummer Philthy "Animal" Taylor, who died in November 2015 of liver failure.
Clarke told EonMusic about his exit from the group: "After the show — which I though was terrible, the agent, Nick Harris came to me and said, 'Why don't we go and talk to Phil and Lemmy? and I said, 'Okay,' because I didn't want to leave — it was the last thing I wanted. So he takes me into their dressing room, and it's full — THE PLASMATICS, everybody's in there. And they peel away from the crowd down the end of the dressing room, and I'm standing with Nick Harris and they say, 'Yeah, what do you want?' and I said, 'Well guys, this is a bit over the top, isn't it? Can't we just carry on — what's the problem here?!' They said, 'No, man, fuck off.' And that was it. What could I do? So I walked out, and that was the end of it."
Clarke, Taylor and Lemmy appeared on five albums together: MOTÖRHEAD's 1977 self-titled debut, 1979's "Overkill" and "Bomber", 1980's "Ace Of Spades" and 1982's "Iron Fist".
Asked in a 2011 interview with Guitar International if he had any plans to ever reunite with Taylor and Clarke, Lemmy said: "No, because these two guys with me now have been with me longer than the original two. They played 'Ace Of Spades' more often than those two. They played 'Overkill' more often than those two. Why should I put Phil [Campbell] and Mikkey [Dee] on hold to go off with guys who probably can't play them as well? They've been out of practice. It's ridiculous to think of it. Then I would be a nostalgia act. I'm all for the now and the future."
Lemmy also talked about the circumstances that led to Clarke's final departure from MOTÖRHEAD. He said: "I like Phil; he was my best mate. Eddie was kind of a friend except he was always complaining about something. It got kinda tedious. Last time he left, we laid low. Before, one of us would go off and bring him back. It was a shame. He shouldn't have done that; we had a lot going for us back then. He should have stuck though it. It was the Wendy O. Williams thing and I couldn't understand that (reference: recording 'Stand By Your Man', a cover version of the Tammy Wynette with Wendy O. Williams). He just gave up on it, because Wendy wasn't immediately perfect on it, she just needed to go through it a few times and he left the band over it. I couldn't fucking believe it. I think he was expecting to be talked back in. Phil came in the room and said, 'Eddie's left again.' I said, 'Whose turn is it to go talk to him?' [Laughs] I said, 'Fuck it, I'm not doing it.' That's the way it went. Wrong decision on his part."

MAX CAVALERA 'Rediscovered' SEPULTURA's 'Roots' Album While Preparing For 'Return To Roots' TourFormer SEPULTURA member Max Cavalera (guitar, vocals) spoke to Peavey about the "Return To Roots" North American tour during which he and his brother Igor are celebrating the twentieth anniversary of the band's classic album "Roots" by performing the LP in its entirety.
Speaking about the making of "Roots", Max said (see video below): "'Roots' was an album that I started myself. I was already doing four-track recordings at the time, which I actually started at the end of [the] 'Arise' [cycle]. At the end of the 'Arise' tour, I bought a four-track machine, and I started traveling with that and writing on the road. And I wrote a lot for 'Chaos A.D.' — 'Refuse/Resist', 'Territory', a lot of those were done on a four-track — so I decided to do the same for 'Roots'. And I had already at home, before I even talked to the SEPULTURA guys, there was already a demo with pretty much the whole 'Roots Bloody Roots' song except for the end part; we didn't have the end part. On the demo, it's fast; it ends fast."
He continued: "So we started with that, so I collected a lot of that material, and then we went into a jam mode, as we call it, so the whole band goes and jams. And that went on for a couple of months. Then we worked on stuff like 'Straighthate' that had a big build-up beginning, a lot of feedback. And then we worked on… kind of the heavier stuff, the 'punk' stuff on 'Roots', like 'Spit', 'Cut-Throat'… 'Attitude' was one of the four-tracks — I had that on a demo, so it was heavily influenced by Brazilian sounds. And then in the studio, we did a lot more experimenting, with 'Ratamahatta', 'Lookaway', 'Ambush', 'Endangered Species'… And then, of course, we closed it with 'Dictatorshit', which is full-on hardcore. And in the studio, we had [famous Brazilian percussionist] Carlinhos Brown doing percussion, so we did the 'Canyon Jam' [hidden song] that's on the CD that goes on for, like, fifteen minutes after the record is done. And we had 'Lookaway' with Mike Patton from FAITH NO MORE and Jon [Jonathan Davis] from KORN."
Max added: "It was a fun record to make. But it was not until now that I really dissected the record to play on this tour that I went deep on the tracks that I realized how cool of a record 'Roots' really is. It is really one of a kind. It's a groundbreaking record, and it's got a lot of cool stuff that I kind of rediscovered on this tour that I love to play live — stuff like 'Spit', 'Cut-Throat', 'Straighthate'… So fun… 'Breed Apart'… It's so fun live. I actually like those better than the classic songs."
Max and Igor first played all of "Roots" at this year's edition of the Amnesia Rockfest on June 24.
"Roots", along with 1993's "Chaos A.D.", is considered SEPULTURA's most commercially successful release, having been certified gold in 2005 by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) for U.S. shipments in excess of 500,000 copies.
In 1996, Max exited SEPULTURA after the rest of the band fired Max's wife Gloria as their manager.
Igor left SEPULTURA in June 2006 due to "artistic differences." His departure from the band came five months after he announced that he was taking a break from SEPULTURA's touring activities to spend time with his second wife and their new son (who was born in January 2006). 3

SATYRICON Aiming For A 'More Percussive, Varied And Soulful' Sound On Next AlbumNorwegian black metallers SATYRICON will enter the studio in January to begin recording their new album, due sometime next year.
SATYRICON vocalist Sigurd "Satyr" Wongraven, was diagnosed with a brain tumor last year, tells Metal Hammer 's "In Residence" show on Spotify that the follow-up to 2013's self-titled album will see the band moving away from the "violent, aggressive" vibe of its earlier efforts.
He says: "When we started getting back in to the rhythm after I was hospitalized, the music changed. I wasn't so much into what we did earlier — it wasn't that I didn't like it, but I didn't feel it in the same way anymore.
"A lot of what we did in the beginning is relentless, violent and aggressive. It's not like it's sobbing or really sad now, but it's more percussive, varied and soulful. There's less emphasis on the aggressive violent part of it."
Satyr also revealed that SATYRICON's next album will be recorded on a farm outside Oslo, Norway.
"We've been jamming in a barn for a long time," he says. "Every time we go there, the atmosphere is really nice — we really enjoy being there.
"I just said, 'We play so well when we're here — the spirit and the soul, and what we do comes across as unique. What if we brought recording equipment and engineers here, instead of bringing SATYRICON to a studio?' So we're doing that."
SATYRICON drummer Kjetil-Vidar "Frost" Haraldstad told VirtualFestivals.com this past summer that the material for the band's next album "feels more creative than anything we have done before. I think that we managed to open quite a few doors, creatively, than with previous albums at least. This dynamic element was important. What I have been feeling is all those doors lead somewhere, and we have been exploring them and the result is what you will hear on that next album. It will go much further than previous albums, and I think it will be a very loaded album. Intense, very very diverse. An album impossible to sum up in a few words, which is a good thing."
SATYRICON celebrated the 20th anniversary of its seminal album "Nemesis Divina" with a never-to-be-repeated series of exclusive European shows, wherein the Norwegian trailblazers performed the album in its entirety for the first and last time.
To herald the 20th anniversary of this most illustrious piece of dark art, "Nemesis Divina" was re-released in spring 2016, newly remastered by Satyr himself and boasting upgraded and revamped packaging worthy of an album that has had a huge and enduring impact on both the black metal scene and underground heavy music in general. 14

EAGLES OF DEATH METAL Frontman JESSE HUGHES Refused Entry At Bataclan Reopening - "Not Welcome After What He Said About The Security"The Guardian is reporting that Eagles of Death Metal frontman Jesse Hughes was turned away from Sting’s concert at the Bataclan in Paris on November 12th, according to the venue’s management, who said he was “not welcome”. The American rock band were performing in the theatre on November 13th last year when it was attacked by Islamic extremist suicide bombers, who killed 89 people.
In the months after the massacre, Hughes provoked anger when he suggested Bataclan security staff were complicit in the attack. He later apologised.
On the eve of the first anniversary of the atrocity, former Police frontman Sting, 65, reopened the 150-year-old venue and Hughes was not allowed in, the Bataclan boss said. However a representative for the band reportedly disputed the venue’s version of events.
Jules Frutos, the manager of the theatre, said Hughes and his manager were turned away at the door. Frutos told the Press Association: “They tried to enter the venue and they are persona non grata. They are not welcome after what he said about the security.”
Frutos said of Hughes: “Even if he came back on what he said. I mean, this man is just sick. That’s all.” He said the band used what happened at the Bataclan to get “promotion”, asking: “Who did know about this band before?”
Frutos said the band’s attitude showed “no respect for the victims”, adding that the singer and his manager did not have tickets for Sting’s concert. The band’s management said Hughes was in Paris with family, friends and fans to commemorate the “tragic loss of life that happened right in front of his eyes during his show”.
Marc Pollack, of The MGMT Company, accused Frutos of “tainting a wonderful opportunity that could’ve been used to spread peace and love”.
“Jesse never even tried entering the club for Sting’s show tonight,” he told US magazine Billboard.
Go to this location for the complete story.
Eagles of Death Metal frontman Jesse Hughes alleged during an interview with FOX Business Network that the Bataclan venue's security team may have been in on the November 13th, 2015 terror attacks in Paris that left 89 people dead. Hughes made the allegations in the interview saying he became suspicious when security staff didn't show up at the venue the day of the band's concert.
Check out a few clips from the interview below.
Following the interview, a Bataclan representative issued the following statement: "Jesse Hughes spread some very grave and defamatory accusations against the Bataclan teams. A judicial investigation is undergoing. We wish to let justice proceed serenely. All the testimonies gathered to this day demonstrate the professionalism and courage of the security agents who were on the ground on November 13th. Hundreds of people were saved thanks to (these agents') intervention."
Hughes released the following statement regarding his comments:
"I humbly beg forgiveness from the people of France, the staff and security of the Bataclan, my fans, family, friends and anyone else hurt or offended by the absurd accusations I made in my Fox Business channel interview. My suggestions that anyone affiliated with the Bataclan played a role in the events of November 13th are unfounded and baseless — and I take full responsibility for them. They do not reflect opinions of my bandmates or anyone associated with Eagles Of Death Metal. The shame is 100% mine. I've been dealing with non-stop nightmares and struggling through therapy to make sense of this tragedy and insanity. I haven't been myself since November 13. I realize there's no excuse for my words, but for what it's worth: I am sincerely sorry for having hurt, disrespected or accused anyone."
Hughes recounted the horrific massacre in an interview Saturday (February 13th) on Sweden's TV4, saying he realized what was happening the moment that gunshots rang out in the cheering concert hall.
The attack started after "a very last note of the song, like almost a diabolical synchronicity," Hughes said. "I knew exactly what was going on."
A portion of the NBC transcript:
Tears welled up in his eyes as he described watching fans he knew succumbing to the barrage of bullets, and then his own horrifying search for his girlfriend.
"I didn't see my girl, Tuesday. She's, you know, the love of my life and ... I went back up into the backstage area to look for her and she wasn't there, and then I opened up a hallway and when I went inside the hallway there was a dude at the end of it holding a gun," Hughes said.
The musician said the gunman fired: "I thought I was dead, I just waited for the shots to hit me." But Hughes escaped and eventually found Tuesday.
When she called out his name, "there's never been the sweeter-sounding voice that you can imagine," he said.

Eagles Of Death Metal have announced a new documentary that chronicles the events before and after the tragic November 13th terrorist attacks at the Bataclan in Paris, reports Pitchfork.
Eagles Of Death Metal: Nos Amis (Our Friends) will debut on HBO in February. Directed by Colin Hanks (Tom Hanks’ son) and produced by Live Nation Productions and Company Name, the documentary will look at Jesse Hughes and Josh Homme’s relationship with each other, as well as with their fans. It also features the band’s return to Paris earlier this year when they performed with U2.
In a scene from the new documentary, the band’s front-man Jesse Hughes makes clear that he will be marked by that night forever. “I take it as a holy charge, this duty of leadership that” has fallen to him, says Hughes, in a startling close-up.
His face is rough and bearded, but his voice, recorded long after the murderous attack at Le Bataclan Theatre, struggles through near-sobs. What he wants, says Hughes, is partly for rock and roll to become what it was: A binding force, for joy and elevation. More, he hopes to communicate something that came home during the attack, though he had first learned it as a kid in Palm Desert, when he was bullied by stronger types who once dumped him into a pool at a party, and kept him there. “Next time, stand up for yourself,” he says of the life-lesson. “Make sure you’re never the weakest one.”

Video: GOJIRA Performs 'The Shooting Star' For BBC Radio 1 'Rock Show'Video footage f French metallers GOJIRA performing the song "The Shooting Star", recorded at Maida Vale in London, England in August for the BBC Radio 1 "Rock Show", can be seen below. The track is taken from GOJIRA's latest album, "Magma", which was released on June 17 via Roadrunner Records. The follow-up to 2012's "L'Enfant Sauvage" was recorded at GOJIRA frontman Joseph Duplantier's Silver Cord Studio in Queens, New York.
The first demos for "Magma" were made while GOJIRA was touring the USA supporting SLAYER in 2013, and "The Shooting Star" was the track that gave direction to the album. "My instincts were always to write riffs that were very technical and challenging," Joseph told The Independent. "But one day, we were jamming and we started playing the main riff from 'The Shooting Star', and it felt like it could go either way; it could go into something super death metal or it could go into something more atmospheric. And I'm so glad we went with the latter because all of a sudden, something clicked inside me and it pushed me to approach the songs in a different way."
Duplantier explained the song's meaning, saying: "The shooting star is like a beacon or a spark in the sky that artists follow without any real reason, it's just a feeling, something we're pursuing our whole lives. It's also about losing someone dear and seeing the soul of that loved one flying in the sky." 1

TRIVIUM: Watch 'Ember To Inferno' Origins - Episode 1Florida metallers TRIVIUM have released the first in a series of videos offering a closer look at the upcoming reissue of their debut album, "Ember To Inferno". Learn about the origins of "Ember To Inferno", the early demos and TRIVIUM's first shows in Europe in the clip below.
TRIVIUM has spent the past decade-plus building its reputation and steadily rising to prominence, becoming one of the main torchbearers of heavy metal in the modern era. With millions of albums sold globally and numerous world tours (from Ozzfest, Mayhem and Download to opening for METALLICA, BLACK SABBATH, and IRON MAIDEN to extensive headline treks), TRIVIUM began their journey in 2003 with their debut album, "Ember To Inferno". The record quickly captured the attention of the band's earliest fans as well as the ears of A&R reps at Roadrunner Records, who rapidly signed the band and went on to release their watershed album "Ascendancy" in 2005. "Ember To Inferno" was the catalyst for what was to come and it has been out of print for several years… until now.
The band and 5B Artist Management have partnered with Cooking Vinyl to re-release the album, along with a deluxe edition that includes 13 additional tracks that have never been previously available yet have earned evasive legend status among the diehards, on December 2. It's a true treasure trove of material that will delight the staunchest TRIVIUM fans and beyond.
"The purpose of this release is to show the very early beginnings of TRIVIUM — perhaps an era unbeknownst to most listeners of the band," said TRIVIUM vocalist and guitarist Matt Heafy. "To look back at 'Ember' as the starting point of TRIVIUM becoming recognized worldwide is a staggering thought for me, considering I was 16-17 years old during the writing and recording of the record.
"As a kid, I always said the 'goal' was to be in a massive metal band. I don't think I actually knew what it would mean to have fans in different parts of the world, and I still can't believe people care so much that they actually want to hear the music that pre-dates our Roadrunner years. To this day, I am still completely blown away that people are singing words to songs I wrote when I was 16 years old. It's an amazing feeling."
"Ember To Inferno" will be released in four configurations, with the deluxe editions containing the band's early demos "Ruber" (a.k.a. the Red Demo), "Caeruleus" (a.k.a. the Blue Demo) and "Flavus" (a.k.a. the Yellow Demo). Fans can pre-order all formats online here.

METALLICA: Pro-Shot Footage Of 'The Memory Remains' Performance From BogotaProfessionally filmed video footage of METALLICA performing the song "The Memory Remains" live on November 1 at Hipódromo de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia can be seen below.
As previously reported, METALLICA collected more than nine tons of food for disadvantaged children and animals at the Bogotá concert. Around 25,000 fans who attended the show at Los Andes Stadium in Bogota were asked to donate non-perishable food to help the indigenous Wayuú community in the northern Colombian region of La Guajira. More than 4,770 children have died there in the last eight years due to malnourishment and a lack of drinking water, at the rate of one or two a week.
Fans brought in nine tons of food and other items through the Challenger Foundation, which fights hunger, and Corazones Peluditos (Furry Hearts), an independent organization of 40 families who help feed and re-home abandoned animals.
The issue was brought to the band's attention by a group of Colombian METALLICA fans dubbing themselves the Lords Of Hardwire.
METALLICA has just completed its South American tour and will not hit the road again until early 2017 as the band travels to the Far East and Europe before returning to tour North America in support of its new album, "Hardwired... To Self-Destruct". The disc, METALLICA's tenth studio effort, arrives on November 18.
The situation of the Wayuú was publicized worldwide through the release of the documentary "El Rio Que Nos Robaron" (The Stolen River), made by Colombian award-winning investigative journalist Gonzalo Guillén.
The film illustrates the harrowing living conditions that plague the Wayúu and suggests through evidence that they are facing an orchestrated genocide due to the Colombian government's indifference and abandonment. 11

CRADLE OF FILTH Frontman's DEVILMENT: Lyric Video For New Song 'Full Dark, No Stars'DEVILMENT — the British band led by vehement frontman Dani Filth of CRADLE OF FILTH, will release its new album, "II: The Mephisto Waltzes", on November 18 via Nuclear Blast Entertainment.
The official lyric video for the song "Full Dark, No Stars" — taken from "II: The Mephisto Waltzes" — can be seen below.
Dani had this to say about the follow-up to 2014's "The Great And Secret Show": "Everybody in DEVILMENT is very excited about the prospect of releasing our latest album, 'II: The Mephisto Waltzes', which we have worked extremely hard on.
"The album is definitely a step up from our debut, featuring a more mature, dissonant presence coupled with a darker edge, yet at the same time utilizing our better musical assets to deliver a unique metal hybrid. I don't even know what to classify it!" Dani's crew has meticulously pieced together a second blood-spattered batch of deranged anthems that brings vastly more color, intensity and lyrical versatility to this band's spectral palate. The second DEVILMENT record makes no splintered bones about its nefarious intent, offering a bewildering torrent of disparate and demented ideas and delivering them with refined, ultra-gothic panache and several jolting doses of Dani's trademark verbal subterfuge. Assisted by longtime collaborators Lauren Francis (keys and vocals), Colin Parks (guitar), Nick Johnson (bass) and new drummer Matt Alston, Dani has arrived at the telling moment where DEVILMENT become a genuine force to be reckoned with.
Regarding the album's artwork, Dani revealed: "Winner of many international awards, the artist for the new DEVILMENT album is Elena Vizerskayaaka Kassandra, whose photography and photo-manipulation perfectly complements the mysterious and magical world of DEVILMENT.
"Elena's work is sometimes compared to Dali and Magritte due to the complexity of artistic figures and the perceptible amount of layers, something to be felt and not necessarily understood, exotic dreams filled with reflections and allusion.
"I have been a fan of Elena's work for a long while now and had originally wanted to utilize it for the CRADLE OF FILTH album 'The Manticore And Other Horrors' as far back as 2011, which only fell through when band politics intervened and an in-house label artist was used instead.
"In conjunction with Elena, the booklet was compiled and further augmented with illustration by Dan Goldsworthy, who has also undertaken album artwork for the likes of ACCEPT, HELL, XENTRIX, GLORYHAMMER and SYLOSIS, amongst others. His contribution to the album has provided it with a minimalist dark uniformity, punctuated by slick and classically macabre imagery, the perfect balance to Elena's gorgeously vibrant photography." "II: The Mephisto Waltzes" was produced, recorded, mixed and mastered at Grindstone Studios by close friend and long-term collaborator Scott Atkins (CRADLE OF FILTH, BEHEMOTH, SYLOSIS, SAVAGE MESSIAH) between March and July of this year. Dani added: "Scott has worked very closely with the band to share our vision and we are very proud of the finished result, especially the megalithic production values and the hammered-home emphasis on songwriting." DEVILMENT recently announced an extensive U.K. tour which will commence this December. The run will kick off on December 6 in Colchester, taking the band through eleven U.K. cities — before wrapping up at eminent Southampton venue, the Engine Rooms on December 19. 2
