Legendary Drummers CARMINE And VINNY APPICE Cover BLACK SABBATH's "The Mob Rules"; VideoFormer Megadeth guitarist Jeff Young has uploaded video footage of the legendary Appice Brothers, Carmine and Vinny, covering the Black Sabbath classic "Mob Rules.
For the first time, the Appice Brothers are joining forces to record a studio album that will feature new songs as well as classic songs from their individual histories.
The brothers, who have worked with artists such as Black Sabbath, Dio, Ozzy Osbourne, Rod Stewart, Blue Murder and more, chose to work with PledgeMusic because they are the frontrunner for direct-to-fan platforms, and they want to bring their fans into this project on a personal level.
"This is very exciting for us! We are reaching out to you, our fans, to help us get this album recorded - as Ringo said, "We'll get by with a little help from our friends." This will be a great sounding, spine-shaking, rhythmic foundation with giant melodic guitars and blazing vocals and melodies that will tear it all up!"
Legendary rock drummer, Carmine Appice (Ozzy Osbourne, Rod Stewart, Vanilla Fudge, Cactus, and Jeff Beck to name a few), has enjoyed an amazing almost 50-year career as a rock star, music educator, author, and rock pioneer. He is widely considered to be one of the most accomplished showmen in rock. Carmine is the recipient of numerous awards including Modern Drummer Hall of Fame, Hollywood Rock Walk of Fame, and dozens of gold and platinum selling records. He co- wrote such monster selling hits as "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" and "Young Turks". He has broken new ground in every aspect of his career - as a performer, as a teacher, and as a writer, he continues to inspire drummers and listeners throughout the world with his originality and his unwavering dedication to the art of drumming. In May 2016, Carmine released his autobiography, Stick It!: My Life of Sex, Drums and Rock 'n' Roll (Chicago Review Press).
Vinny Appice's unique, powerful drumming is marked not by his performances with a single group, but by his flawless musical contributions and drumming to an extensive list of rock and roll icons like Black Sabbath, Ronnie James Dio, Heaven & Hell, Rick Derringer, John Lennon and more! A consummate performer and drummer, Vinny is also a brilliant clinician, performing clinics and master classes all across the globe, as well as making appearances in films and television. Vinny can be heard on rock classic albums like Black Sabbath's Mob Rules and Dio's Holy Diver and The Last in Line.
The Appice Brothers have some very special offerings for those that pre-order the record. "We have put together a great list of items from the making of the album itself, to drum related items and a lot more things! We are looking forward to completing a killer album for you and we thank you all for your continued support!"

More info on Woe To The Vanquished and the story behind it described by singer John Kevill, who is not only fronting Warbringer, but also studying to be a history professor:
"The title Woe to the Vanquished comes from early Roman history--before they were the huge empire they became. In 390 BC, a host of Gauls led by a warlord called Brennus attacked Rome, and captured all the city except the Capitoline Hill. From this hill the defeated Romans made a bargain, they would pay 1,000 pounds of gold for the Gallic army to leave the city with no further bloodshed. The Romans bring the gold before Brennus, who uses his own scales to measure it. On the Gaul's scales, the Roman's thousand pounds of gold measured to be less, which led the Romans to complain that the scale was rigged (it probably was). Responding to this, Brennus speaks "Vae Victis" (Woe to the Vanquished) and throws his sword on the counterweight. Because the Romans lost, they have to pay the rigged sum of gold as well as the weight of the sword, to add insult to injury. The irony here is that vowing this type of humiliation would never happen again, Rome went on to become an ancient war machine conquering and subjugating most of the old world. On the record Woe to the Vanquished is spoken in an ironic, mocking tone--the defeated are trampled and time marches on, uncaring, and forgets they ever existed."
Woe To The Vanquished “making of” :
Just in time for their album release March 31st, the band will be hitting the road all over Europe in spring and summer, including already confirmed festivals like Spain's Resurrection Fest, Slovenia's Metal Days and Devilstone in Lithuania, with more to be announced.

QUIET RIOT Performs With Singer JAMES DURBIN For The First Time (Video)QUIET RIOT made its live debut with the band's seventh lead singer, "American Idol" finalist James Durbin, last night (Saturday, March 18) at The Cotillion in Wichita, Kansas. Video footage of the concert can be seen below (courtesy of Steven Seuferling).
Durbin, who became known as the "metal guy" on 2011's season of "American Idol" after performing "Living After Midnight" and "Breaking The Law" with JUDAS PRIEST, joined QUIET RIOT earlier in the month after the dismissal of Seann Nicols (a.k.a. Sheldon Tarsha; formerly of ADLER'S APPETITE). Nicols was with QUIET RIOT for just a few months, but long enough to record the vocals for an early version the band's upcoming album, "Road Rage".
Prior to yesterday's show, Durbin — who recently collaborated with QUIET RIOT guitarist Alex Grossi on the "Maps To The Hollywood Scars" EP — explained his decision to join QUIET RIOT, saying that it was partly motivated by his desire to elevate the band's status to levels not seen in the decade following original singer Kevin DuBrow's death.
"Me stepping into QUIET RIOT is me wanting to use the attention that I have and the things that I have done to highlight a band that I feel is being forgotten, or is being remembered for the wrong reasons," he said.
"[The QUIET RIOT documentary 'Well Now You're Here, There's No Way Back' is] a great movie, it's a great story, it's tragic, it happens to every band. Whenever somebody loses a member, you go through this thing where you're trying to find somebody to fill that spot, and in some cases, it's just another guy, but in other cases, it's your best friend or your brother. And you've really gotta find people that you really gel with and really work with and really understand."
He added: "Even though I know Alex for the past four months, and two days of rehearsal — the only two times I've ever been in a room together with [QUIET RIOT drummer] Frankie [Banali] and Chuck [Wright, QUIET RIOT bassist] and Alex all together — I feel like we know each other already. I feel like I've known Frankie for years. And so it's this natural progression where I come in, I know the material, I'm prepared. I had two weeks to learn the sixteen-song set — more than other people that have had much longer time. And I come in, and I know it, and I'm happy to be there, I'm grateful to be there, I'm happy to be working with people that wanna work and love to play music.
"For me, the whole 'Idol' thing and everything all together, the reason I did was just so that I could be a working musician and play music for a living and support my family. And that's who I'm in a band with. So it's pretty cool. It's come full circle. But nothing in this music industry or the rock and roll world or anything comes without a price to pay, so whatever the ticket price is, I'll pay it. But you can guaran-damn-tee that I will be there every single night banging my head, making you feel the noise, and I will never phone it in, dial it in, make a gimmick of myself or this band, because they deserve it, Kevin DuBrow's legacy and memory deserves it, and QUIET RIOT deserves it."
QUIET RIOT announced earlier in the month that it would delay the release of "Road Rage" until this summer so that Durbin could replace all the vocals on the album with new lyrics and melodies.
Banali revived QUIET RIOT in 2010, three years after DuBrow's death, along with Grossi and Wright. The group went through two vocalists — Mark Huff and Scott Vokoun — before settling on Jizzy Pearl in 2013. Pearl announced his exit from QUIET RIOT last October. 2

Video: SEVENDUST Performs Entire Debut Album At 20th-Anniversary ConcertSEVENDUST celebrated the 20th anniversary of the release of its self-titled debut album by performing the record in its entirety at a special hometown show this past Friday, March 17 at the Masquerade in Atlanta, Georgia. Video footage of the concert can be seen below.
Originally released in 1997 via TVT Records, "Sevendust" was recorded in Atlanta during the tragic terrorist bombing of the 1996 Summer Olympic Games. The widespread panic in Atlanta at the time fueled the band to create one of the fiercest albums to date.
"Sevendust" was made available as a deluxe reissue in 2010. Produced by Jay Jay French and Mark Mendoza of TWISTED SISTER, the original has sold more than 700,000 copies and was certified gold in 1999. The digitally remastered reissue provided some extra muscle to all of the original hits (including "Black" and "Bitch") and tacked on five bonus tracks and a DVD, which featured the nationally aired TV special "Live And Loud", recorded at The Metro in Chicago, and additional never-before-seen live and behind the scenes footage of the band. The bonus tracks were culled from various releases, making the definitive edition a must-have for any fan. "Breathe" was previously only available on the "Strangeland" film soundtrack, "Terminator (Breathe Remix)" on the MTV "Celebrity Death Match" soundtrack, and live renditions of "Bitch" and "Prayer" were only released on the Japanese edition of the record. "Sevendust (Definitive Edition)" also included a cover of ALICE COOPER's legendary summer anthem "School's Out".
Originally known as CRAWLSPACE, the SEVENDUST lineup is made up of singer/frontman Lajon Witherspoon, bassist Vince Hornsby, guitarists John Connolly and Clint Lowery, and drummer Morgan Rose.
In a 2016 interview with Myglobalmind, Connolly stated about the band's longevity: "I think it's just a mutual respect we have for each other. When Clint left, that separation period was needed on both sides. He needed to step away, take care of his business. and find his path again and we needed the same. Instead of letting that moment in time define the band, everyone was up for the challenge. Clint went to play with his brother in the band DARK NEW DAY. We put out three records during that time and when he came back it just felt like that original chemistry."
He added: "We enjoy making music with each other and we still have that excitement from the first day of rehearsal. We don't look at it as being together for 20 years; we just enjoy jamming with each other. We're brothers and fight like cats and dogs but we have each other backs — we're family." 1

Rumor: MIKE PORTNOY Recruits BUMBLEFOOT, DEREK SHERINIAN For New Progressive Metal SupergroupMike Portnoy is rumored to have recruited ex-GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal and former DREAM THEATER and current BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION keyboardist Derek Sherinian for his previously announced "progressive metal supergroup." Although the former DREAM THEATER drummer has not yet confirmed Thal and Sherinian's involvement in the new project, he has been actively deleting comments on his official forum from fans who have concluded through various social-media posts that the pair are working with Portnoy in the freshly launched band. Portnoy revealed the new project's existence in a March 1 post on his Facebook page. He shared a photo of himself in the studio and wrote in the accompanying caption: "Hmmmm....what have we here?? I'm in L.A. recording an album with something NEW... Sorry, this is all you're gonna get outta me on this for a while... More will be revealed at a later date... stay tuned! #ProgMetalSupergroup Coming soon..." Asked in a 2014 interview how he goes about handling the changes in playing styles between his many different bands and projects, Portnoy said: "Well, I'm just a big music fan of every style, so it's very natural for me to play different styles with different bands and different musicians, and switch it from day to day, just because I'm a fan. It's very comfortable for me. I'm just such a fan of so many kinds of music that I could change hats from day to day, even from hour to hour. [Laughs]" Portnoy, who co-founded DREAM THEATER more than thirty years ago, abruptly quit the band in September 2010 while on tour with AVENGED SEVENFOLD. He has since been replaced by Mike Mangini (ANNIHILATOR, EXTREME, JAMES LABRIE, STEVE VAI). Portnoy revealed a few years ago that he tried to rejoin DREAM THEATER, only to be rebuffed. He explained the move in a 2015 interview by saying: "I was doing whatever it would take to keep peace and keep things going smooth. And at that point, they were just only speaking through their lawyer. But it's a 25-year relationship coming to an end, so, obviously, it goes very, very deep, not only personally and emotionally, but also legally, and all the red tape that's involved with something like that. So it was a tough time, a tough period, and, luckily, we all got through it. But, yeah, I don't wish that kind of stuff on anybody in a band. It's tough." 6

METALLICA: Pro-Shot Footage Of 'Whiskey In The Jar' Performance From MinneapolisProfessionally filmed video footage of METALLICA performing the famous Irish traditional song "Whiskey In The Jar" (popularized by THIN LIZZY in the '70s) on August 20, 2016 at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota can be seen below.
METALLICA has announced the European leg of its "WorldWired" tour in support of the band's new album, "Hardwired… To Self-Destruct". The trek kicks off with two shows in Amsterdam at the Ziggo Dome on September 4 and September 6. Norway's KVELERTAK will be support for the tour run.
The North American leg of the "WorldWired" 2017 tour kicks off on May 10 in Baltimore, Maryland and will hit stadiums in 25 cities before winding down in mid-August. Support on the quartet's first North American trek since 2009 will come mainly from AVENGED SEVENFOLD and VOLBEAT, with GOJIRA taking over for the latter group for the last six shows.
METALLICA frontman James Hetfield recently said on the Nerdist podcast that the band will cap its live schedule starting in 2017 at around fifty shows a year. He explained: "My body has told me to tell these guys that fifty shows a year is kind of what we can do, so make the best of those."
"Hardwired... To Self-Destruct", METALLICA's first all-new studio effort in eight years, went to No. 1 in 58 countries, including the U.S., where it topped The Billboard 200 album chart. 2

ART OF ANARCHY Feat. SCOTT STAPP, BUMBLEFOOT, JOHN MOYER: 'Changed Man' Lyric VideoThe official lyric video for the song "Changed Man" from ART OF ANARCHY, the band featuring CREED singer Scott Stapp alongside DISTURBED bassist John Moyer and ex-GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal, can be seen below. The track is taken from ART OF ANARCHY's sophomore album, "The Madness", which will be released on March 24.
The track listing for the CD is as follows:
01. Echo Of A Scream02. 1,000 Degrees03. No Surrender04. The Madness05. Won't Let You Down06. Changed Man07. A Light In Me08. Somber09. Dancing With The Devil10. Afterburn
Thal said in a recent interview with TeamRock that Stapp is thriving as ART OF ANARCHY's new lead singer, adding that the band is providing a healthy environment for Stapp as he continues his fight to stay sober. Thal explained: "The band, ART OF ANARCHY, is drug free. Me and the Votta brothers [guitarist Jon and drummer Vince] have never even smoked a cigarette, none of us drink, have never done drugs, never smoked pot or anything like that."
Thal continued: "So that's good, because the last thing you need on the road if you're trying to stay clean is a bunch of people doing that around you. Scott is doing well... It's great that he has a strong family and a lot of people that care and support and that were there to help him get out of that situation. Now he's better than ever."
The CREED frontman joined the band last year, following a highly publicized, drug-enhanced meltdown in late 2014, after which he entered rehab program and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
Stapp told The Pulse Of Radio he was touring as a solo artist again when he was approached about joining. "I really wasn't looking for a band, but I was definitely curious," he said. "I wanted to see what it was all about. I love writing with talented people and I think that's really what made the decision for me, was to sit in a room with Ron, Jon and Vince and throw out ideas, trade ideas and realize, 'Hey, there's something that could come of this.'"
ART OF ANARCHY made its live debut on October 27, 2016 at the Gramercy Theatre in New York City and will embark on its first headlining tour in April.
ART OF ANARCHY released a self-titled debut album in 2015 that featured former STONE TEMPLE PILOTS singer Scott Weiland.
Weiland, whom STP parted ways with in 2002 and again in 2013, died in December 2015.
Thal joined GUNS N' ROSES in 2006 and stayed in the band for eight years, playing on the 2008 album "Chinese Democracy". He has also released a number of solo CDs.

EMPERORS AND ELEPHANTS Release Sophomore Album MothEmperors And Elephants is a hard-driving, modern heavy rock band from Chicago, Illinois. The unique vibe and sound of the band gives E&E a strong identity, which led directly to signing with Pavement Entertainment.
Over time, Emperors Aand Elephants became a solid touring machine, its popularity soaring at every turn. Unfortunately, tragedy struck on the evening of August 13th, 2016, in Savage, Minnesota, when Jeff Windisch, lead guitarist and founding member, suffered a massive heart attack and passed away.
After taking some much needed time to recover and heal from the devastating loss, the band decided to honor Jeff by keeping Emperors And Elephants alive. Long-time friend Anthony Modica stepped up to the plate and became a permanent member of E&E as lead guitar. Banding together, they have completed their highly anticipated follow-up album “Moth.” The album hits shelves today, March 17th.

FRANK BELLO Says ANTHRAX 'Would Love' To Work With LADY GAGAItaly's Rock Rebel Magazine conducted an interview with ANTHRAX bassist Frank Bello prior to the band's March 14 show at Live Club in Trezzo sull'Adda, Lombardy, Italy. You can watch the chat below. A few excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).
On why the band's 1987 "Among The Living" album continues to endure 30 years after its release:
Frank: "You've got to think, after all this time, it's great to see people reacting to it. Think about it: If it's 30 years old, people get it. You'll see tonight, it's crazy; it's like it just came out. It's very fresh to them. You'll also see a bunch of different people in the audience. You have a big crossover of fans now. We have anywhere [from] 12 years old to 60 years old; everybody is together now. There is a new generation coming up, so for them to see it, to see this 'Among The Living' thing, but it's the 'Among The Kings' tour we're calling it. We do the whole 'Among The Living' album, but then we do some other songs which people really like, from 'For All Kings', our new record. Everybody is very satisfied at the end of the day. Everybody's hand is up in the air, which is all that matters to us. We're very happy about that."
On rumors ANTHRAX and Lady Gaga were considering doing an album together:
Frank: "Lady Gaga is a friend of ours. She's amazing. We love her, but she just did the Grammys with METALLICA. She's a metalhead, which I love, she's awesome, so we'd love to work with her. We'll put it out there; she doesn't have a lot of time, she's very busy. We want to see her do well. She's metal and we love her for it. Of course we'd be very open to that, but nothing is planned now."
On the atmosphere within ANTHRAX while recording "Among The Living":
Frank: "The great thing is not knowing. All you know is there's a vibe. There's a vibe going on in the music scene, especially in the '80s. You've got to remember, it was us, METALLICA, SLAYER, MEGADETH. There was a movement of metal — right in your face. We were all IRON MAIDEN fans, JUDAS PRIEST fans, so we had this great community of metal people coming up and fans, so we knew there was something special that was going on. When everybody came out with their records, it really broke over the top. 'Among The Living' came out for us and it put us in a different elevation."
On the sometimes comedic element to ANTHRAX's appearance and music:
Frank: "We don't really like to have a bad time. When I'm onstage, I have a good time. I love what I do; thank God, I'm very happy that I can play music. There's some parts you want to get into it and rip it up, but for the most part, look, you got to look at it my way: I'm connecting with fans. I'm a fan connecting with other fans. I'm in a good mood and I want to have a good time. People come to a metal show to get away from their problems. You want to have a good time, right? That's where you do that. That's where you're allowed to do that. I think it's fun."
On thrash's relevance in today's metal scene:
Frank: "I don't think thrash ever left. I think it's always been here; for me it has. Music in general, everything in life, there's peaks and valleys. Just because it's not as popular in one point in life, doesn't mean it's not there. Peaks and valleys. It can become less popular, then it becomes popular again. It's cycles. The older you get, you see this. Everything comes in cycles. It's just the truth. That's how life is."
On whether ANTHRAX should take a stronger political stance in light of recent events:
Frank: "No. We're just musicians, and not because we're Italian or anything like that. We're just people. If something is affecting us, maybe that will come out like that, but the last thing I want to do as a musician and songwriter is preach to anybody. I think musicians should be heard through music. I don't want to be preaching to anybody. Everybody has their own opinion about everything. You keep yours, I'll keep mine and everybody's happy."
On his favorite memories from the "Among The Living" album cycle:
Frank: "Lots of touring. You've got to remember, in those days, breaking, people say, 'You're breaking,' and the record broke and it became big. You didn't stop touring. We were never home. All I can remember from that period is that we did the record, it came out and every tour, I remember, I think we opened for so many bands. I just don't remember being home in '87 and '88. It was non-stop, say hello to my family once in a while, and then we were back on tour. It was a great time. The energy…it was electric. I tell you, and I see that and that's a great memory from then, but what I see now, is a beautiful thing going on now. There's a new generation of fans along with our old fans. There's something like that energy. There's something that electric, this electricity we have, it feels like this 'For All Kings' People are really reacting to this when I see it. It's all around the world what's going on. We've been touring this thing forever. It's been out a little over year; we started touring before the record came out. It's been non-stop."
ANTHRAX's February 15 concert at the Barrowland in Glasgow, United Kingdom was filmed for a DVD, to be released later this year via Megaforce. Seventeen cameras, including five GoPros and a full-size camera crane, captured more than two hours of ANTHRAX favorites that were voted onto the evening's set list by fans and included "Madhouse", "Be All, End All", "Breathing Lightning" and "A.I.R.", followed by ANTHRAX's classic 1987 album "Among The Living" performed start to finish. In addition to the live footage, the DVD will include "fly-on-the-wall" interviews and other B-roll shot on the band's tour bus, backstage, in hotels and elsewhere. The DVD is being produced and directed by Paul Green of the Manchester, U.K.-based Paul Green Productions who has filmed concerts for OPETH, THE DAMNED, Gary Numan, THE LEVELLERS and many others.
ANTHRAX's European tour ended in Paris on March 16. 10

GENE SIMMONS Pays Tribute To CHUCK BERRY With 'Johnny B. Goode' Performance In Cleveland (Video)KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons paid tribute to rock icon Chuck Berry last night (Saturday, March 18) by performing a cover version of "Johnny B. Goode" during his first-ever full solo concert in Cleveland, Ohio.
"It's a very sad day today," Simmons said prior to launching into the song (see video below, courtesy of Rob Lovash). "One of the founding fathers of rock and roll has passed on. If it wasn't for Chuck Berry, there wouldn't have been rock and roll."
The rest of Simmons's set in Cleveland included two songs from his 1978 solo album, as well as a number of '70s- and '80s-era KISS classics, including "War Machine", "I Love It Loud", "Parasite", "Almost Human", "Got Love For Sale" and "Charisma".
Last night's show was one of five performances Simmons is staging in conjunction with his Wizard World Comic Con appearances. He will also perform at conventions in St. Louis (April 8-9), Philadelphia (June 2-3), Chicago (August 26-27) and Austin (November 17-18).
Backing Simmons at the shows are guitarist Phil Shouse (Rodney Atkins, John Corabi, LIPSTICK, THEE ROCK N' ROLL RESIDENCY), drummer Jarred Pope (THEE ROCK N' ROLL RESIDENCY), guitarist/bassist Jeremy Asbrock (THE SHAZAM, John Corabi, THEE ROCK N' ROLL RESIDENCY) and guitarist Ryan (HAIR OF THE DOG, THEE ROCK N' ROLL RESIDENCY).
"This is gonna be a first for me," Simmons told CantonRep.com about playing his own shows. "Outside of KISS, I've never done a solo tour. I never did anything like that. Every once in a while I'll jump up on stage and do a song with somebody. Johnny Depp and I did a few songs together, a few other knuckleheads, but that's about it. When Wizard World and I agreed to do five events together, the idea of jumping up onstage and gulping it on for an hour or so came up. And I got a great bunch of guys, real rocking guys who are gonna get up with me, and we'll play all the hits and have ourselves a good old time."
Simmons said in an interview earlier in the month that he was still working on his box set that will include "150 songs that have never been released. That news is gonna be released soon."
Berry, a music pioneer often called "the Father of Rock 'n' Roll," died Saturday at his home outside St. Louis. He was 90 years old. Berry's death was confirmed by the St. Charles County Police Department in Missouri. 1

BOBBY BLOTZER's RATT Performs With Singer SEANN NICOLS For First Time (Video)Bobby Blotzer's version of RATT made its live debut with QUIET RIOT and ADLER'S APPETITE singer Seann Nicols (a.k.a. Sheldon Tarsha) last night (Saturday, March 18) at the Prairie Knights Casino & Resort in Fort Yates, North Dakota. Video footage of the concert can be seen below.
Nicols joined Blotzer's RATT as the replacement for Joshua Alan, who quit the band in January, explaining that he will be working and focusing on his original music this year.
The rest of Blotzer's RATT continues to include guitarists Mitch Perry (TALAS, HEAVEN, STEELER, MSG, LITA FORD) and Stacey Blades (L.A. GUNS) and bassist Brad Lang (Y&T).
Blotzer has been embroiled in a legal battle with the other members of the classic RATT lineup over the rights to the band's name.
Since 2015, Blotzer had been playing shows under the name RATT with a lineup in which he is the sole member from the band's '80s heyday. He has pitted himself against bassist Juan Croucier, founding singer Stephen Pearcy and guitarist Warren DeMartini, who reunited last October for a surprise performance on a Monsters Of Rock cruise. The trio has since announced a series of RATT shows, including high-profile sets at Maryland's M3 Rock festival and Oklahoma's Rocklahoma, and has issued cease-and-desist letters to concert promoters in an attempt to block the Blotzer version of RATT from performing under that name. Prior to last night's performance, Blotzer took to Facebook to once again reassure RATT fans that he owns the rights to the band's name and to explain once again why he is carrying on with his version of the group.
He wrote: "Everyone knows my intention out here is to make everything album quality and a real show, not just phoning it in like others.
"A lot of you know I've been out here with RATT after the old O.G.s stayed off the road for six years. No one talked to no one. Now, after they saw how big we blew up, it obviously shook the denture cream off and we're in a war that should have been over, due the fact a conning to the court went down.
"It's still unresolved. WBS Inc., my corporation, still owns the name.
"I'm going into detail here only because [the promoters of the Prairie Knights Casino & Resort] show was served by the three blind bland mice a cease-and-desist. Anyone can send one of those to anybody. We then find out that Juan Hector Crucifer has been personally, frantically calling the venue, the gaming commission, the stage manager's mom, you get the point, trying to stop something he, they cannot. The main thing they are and have been trying to pull over everyone's eyes is they won. Reality, we are still in litigating.
"[We'll be] back in court with resounding new evidence showing the lies and horseshit tactics they used in court to sway the judge. Still can't understand why he allowed some of the one-day-old declorations that are easily proved incorrect and blatant lies.
So here we are , selling out 3,000 tonight.
"Come hear RATT the way you want to hear her sound. Like you grew up hearing, not Froggy the blender cats.
"Yes, it's very personal to me. But, I'm real."
Back in November, a California judge ruled against Blotzer with respect to whether Croucier had committed trademark infringement by using the RATT name and logo to advertise his band RATT'S JUAN CROUCIER in the fall of 2015.
Blotzer, who had a spinal fusion surgery for the C6-C7 vertebrae in his neck four years ago, said that he will undergo lumbar spine surgery two days after the Prairie Knights Casino & Resort concert.
The drummer also promised that he would "mop up [the] litigation" he is currently embroiled in with his former bandmate over the rights to the RATT name and that he would return to the road "with RATT around late June."

SAXON's New Album Won't Arrive Before 2018On March 16, former ANTHRAX singer Neil Turbin conducted an interview with SAXON frontman Biff Byford and guitarist Doug Scarratt for Canada's The Metal Voice at the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles, California. You can now watch the chat below. A couple of excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).
On SAXON's upcoming album:
Biff: "We've recorded seven songs already. I finished the vocals just before we came [to the U.S.], actually. We've actually got three or four more songs, but I think we're gonna write three more for the album. We'll rent a studio when we're on festivals — about a week in the studio — and then we'll write some songs. It [is being recorded with British producer] Andy Sneap. He's gone off to do [the new] JUDAS PRIEST [album] while we are here. In September, we'll be finished with that, hopefully. It will be out in 2018, maybe January."
On his memories of touring with MOTÖRHEAD:
"Our first tour of the U.K. — well, our first tour ever, actually — was with MOTÖRHEAD. We'd just written 'Wheels Of Steel'; it was about to come out. We used to go out every night, seven o'clock on stage, doing our thing, and Lemmy would come out after our show, on their show, and say, 'You've gotta buy their album. These guys are great. They're gonna be huge,' or whatever. So he helped us out a lot in those early days. He gave us his stamp of approval. It was nice of him. Lemmy was very intelligent, well read and he had a great sense of humor. He was a bit like me — he had a wicked wit about him."
On Lemmy's death:
"Lemmy was ill. He was actually iller on the American leg than he was on the European leg. We finished in Scandinavia in December, and we all said goodbye for a Christmas break, and we were starting again in January; in London was the first show. And he died shortly after that. I don't think he expected to die, because he was actually feeling a little bit better, but he was told he got cancer in the brain, and it wasn't long after that before he died. He sent me a text message a couple of days before he died saying he thought the tour was great, blah blah blah, and next thing I knew, somebody phoned me up and said, 'Lemmy's gone.' So it was a bit of a shock. But he went in the Lemmy style, really. He didn't linger in a hospital, did he? He died with his boots on."
On whether he would ever reunite with former SAXON members for a special one-off show:
"No. Not in this universe, no. I have to be loyal to the guys [current band], you know. I mean, Doug's been in the band longer than they were. I don't see any point, really. We're headlining huge festivals in Europe, so what would be the point? I mean, it would be all right for the fans — I understand that — but our fans have gone on and moved on to the new SAXON, and that's the way it is. I'm sure UFO get asked exactly the same thing about Schenker. 'Are you ever gonna go out with Michael Schenker again?' Their answer is, 'I don't know.' Probably not, I suppose. I don't know. But maybe. You never say never, can you? But as it stands now, no."
SAXON recently revealed that the band's forthcoming follow-up to 2015's "Battering Ram" will include a song dedicated to MOTÖRHEAD. "[It's] called 'They Played Rock And Roll', 'cause that's what Lemmy [late MOTÖRHEAD frontman] used to say every night [from the stage]," Byford told Sonic Shocks. "It's basically about early MOTÖRHEAD — '79/'80 MOTÖRHEAD, like around 'No Sleep 'Til Hammersmith', 'cause that's the tour we were on, that one. So, yeah, it's about the band, really, and their music."
According to Biff, "They Played Rock And Roll" will be musically similar to Lemmy and Co. He explained: "I asked Nibbs [Carter, SAXON bassist] to write me some music that was like MOTÖRHEAD, and he did. So it sounds very MOTÖRHEAD-ish, but not MOTÖRHEAD, if you know what I mean."
"Battering Ram" was released in North America via UDR Music. The effort featured Byford alongside Paul Quinn and Doug Scarratt on guitar, Nibbs Carter on bass and Nigel Glockler on drums. 1

Members Of GUNS N' ROSES, AEROSMITH, KISS, MÖTLEY CRÜE, JUDAS PRIEST, Others React To Passing Of CHUCK BERRYMembers of GUNS N' ROSES, AEROSMITH, KISS, MÖTLEY CRÜE, TWISTED SISTER and JUDAS PRIEST are among the rock musicians and scores of other artists who reacted on social media to the passing of Chuck Berry, a music pioneer often called "the Father of Rock 'n' Roll," who died Saturday at his home outside St. Louis. He was 90 years old. Berry's death was confirmed by the St. Charles County Police Department in Missouri.
Officers responded to a medical emergency at Berry's home near Wentzville, Missouri, about 45 miles west of St. Louis, around 12:40 p.m. Saturday and found an unresponsive man inside. He was declared dead shortly before 1:30 p.m. after lifesaving measures were unsuccessful.
"St. Charles County police responded to a medical emergency on Buckner Road at approximately 12:40 p.m. today (Saturday, March 18)," the police department said in a statement. "Inside the home, first responders observed an unresponsive man and immediately administered lifesaving techniques. Unfortunately, the 90-year-old man could not be revived and was pronounced deceased at 1:26 p.m.
"The St. Charles County Police Department sadly confirms the death of Charles Edward Anderson Berry Sr., better known as legendary musician Chuck Berry."
Berry, who influenced the likes of THE ROLLING STONES and THE BEATLES, announced last year he would release his first album in nearly four decades in 2017. He said the disc would be dedicated to his wife of 68 years, Themetta Berry. "My darlin', I'm growing old!" he said at the time. "I've worked on this record for a long time. Now I can hang up my shoes!"
Titled "Chuck", album will now reportedly be released posthumously. It will be the legend's first studio album since 1979's "Rock It".
Berry was one of the first people to be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame back in 1986 and he received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1984. 2

RAMMSTEIN: Video Footage, Photos From 'Paris' Documentary Premiere In BerlinThe first-ever screening of "Rammstein: Paris", the new documentary from German industrial metallers RAMMSTEIN, was held this past Thursday, March 16 at Volksbühne in Berlin, Germany. Video footage from the band's red-carpet arrival can be seen below. Photos are available at Getty Images.
"Rammstein: Paris" will screen in around 350 cinemas internationally, including in the U.S., on March 23. The film was shot in March 2012 at the then-named Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy in Paris (now AccorHotels Arena) during RAMMSTEIN's "Made In Germany" tour, and was helmed by the band's longtime collaborator, Swedish director Jonas Åkerlund.
"Rammstein: Paris" has been picked up for worldwide rights (excluding Germany, Austria and Switzerland) by Picturehouse Entertainment, the distribution arm of the U.K.'s Picturehouse Cinemas chain.
"Concert films are always a big challenge," said Åkerlund, who has also worked with METALLICA, SATYRICON, MADONNA and THE PRODIGY, among others. "I compare it to shooting fireworks. The way I approach it is to try to translate the energy that you get in the room onto film, using every trick in the book to make as much of an impression as I can on the audience."
"Rammstein: Paris" was shot over two nights, using 30 cameras.
"That gives you a massive amount of footage," Åkerlund added."This is a two-hour-twenty-minute show, and I take the footage and cut it with the same precision that I would a three- or four-minute music video. Even with a big crew of editors, it took us over a year to nail down the edit."
RAMMSTEIN last year played a number of concerts where the band opened each show with a brand new song, presently only known as "Ramm 4". The track contains lyrics that seem to be a combination of various titles of previous RAMMSTEIN songs.
RAMMSTEIN in 2015 released a 21st-anniversary box set, a numbered, career-wide collection titled "XXI". The set included the band's six studio albums, produced by Jacob Hellner and remastered onto 180-gram heavyweight double vinyl by Svante Forsbäck, as well as a separate rarities double LP, "Raritäten", including a previously unreleased version of the track "Los".
RAMMSTEIN hasn't made a new CD since 2009's "Liebe Ist Für Alle Da".
The band's frontman Till Lindemann in 2015 released a debut album with his side project LINDEMANN.
RAMMSTEIN guitarist Richard Z. Kruspe's EMIGRATE project issued its sophomore album, "Silent So Long", in November 2014 via Spinefarm. 2

VALLENFYRE Feat. PARADISE LOST, Ex-MY DYING BRIDE Members: 'Fear Those Who Fear Him' Artwork UnveiledVALLENFYRE, the U.K. death metal band featuring Gregor Mackintosh, songwriter and guitarist of PARADISE LOST, alongside Hamish Glencross, formerly of MY DYING BRIDE, will release its third album, "Fear Those Who Fear Him", on June 2 via Century Media Records. Recorded by the band's new core lineup consisting of Mackintosh (vocals and guitar), Glencross (guitar and bass) and Waltteri Väyrynen (drums), "Fear Those Who Fear Him" was once again produced by Kurt Ballou (CONVERGE, NAILS) at GodCity Studio in Salem, Massachusetts and mastered by Brad Boatright (OBITUARY, BEASTMILK, YOB) at Audiosiege Mastering in Portland, Oregon. The cover artwork was created by Hal Rotter.
Mackintosh comments: "Most bands refine their sound over the first two or three albums. Becoming more technically adept and honing their craft. VALLENFYRE have done almost exactly the opposite. We have devolved, made things simpler and crush most of the melody under swathes of rotting noise. From 'A Fragile King' to 'Splinters' and now to 'Fear Those Who Fear Him', we have become more savage, more raw and less compromising!" "Fear Those Who Fear Him" will be released as gatefold LP+CD on limited colored and regular black 180-gram vinyl, as special edition digipak (international version), jewelcase CD (Canada, USA, Mexico only) and on all digital / streaming platforms.
Inspired by the likes of HELLHAMMER, CELTIC FROST, AUTOPSY, ANTISECT, DISCHARGE, NIHILIST, ENTOMBED, early NAPALM DEATH, early BATHORY and CONFLICT, VALLENFYRE have forged a trademark sound between rotting death metal driven by a chainsaw-like guitar sound, filthy doses of crust and early grind as well as crushing, depraved doom. Onstage, VALLENFYRE performs as a quintet with live members Sam Kelly-Wallace (rhythm guitar) and Chris Casket (bass) completing the lineup.
"Fear Those Who Fear Him" track listing:
01. Born To Decay02. Messiah03. Degeneration04. An Apathetic Grave05. Nihilist06. Amongst The Filth07. The Merciless Tide08. Dead World Breathes09. Soldier Of Christ10. Cursed From The Womb11. Kill All Your Masters12. Temple Of Rats 3

YOUR CHANCE TO DIE Announce Ex Nihilo Album; “Omega” Track StreamingYour Chance To Die, who re-emerged into the death metal world with their 2013 Red Cord Records sophomore effort, The American Dream, are to release their third album, Ex Nihilo on April 21st via EMP Label Group’s extreme metal imprint EMP Underground. Recorded by Jamie King (Between The Buried And Me), mixed by Zack Ohren (Machine Head), and with album art by French digital artist / illustrator and graphic designer Pierre-Alain D., Ex Nihilo shows the band completely reinvented with deep symphonic atmospheres, inhuman precision and brutality, and a dual-female vocal onslaught.
2015/16 saw the addition of Som Pluijmers (ex-Cerebral Bore) on vocals, making her debut on Ex Nihilo, alongside revered death metal vocalist Missi Avila. The dual-female front offers a tandem dose of sheer vocal brutality backed up by the soaring leads and rhythmic precision of Coca Avila and Ron Dalton on guitars. This package is rounded out by the inhuman speed and accuracy of drummer Thomas White.
In late 2016, the band began talking to Grammy-Award-winning (Megadeth bassist) David Ellefson and Thom Hazaert of EMP Label Group. Through these talks, the band found themselves inking a new deal with EMP for the new direction in 2017.
On signing to EMP, frontpersons Missi Avila and Som Pluijmers said, “Your Chance To Die is honored to be a part of the EMP label group family. We are very excited about our future with EMP, the new record that we have written, and are very thankful for this amazing team we now have behind us. We have worked very hard on our new songs…to become a new band…with different, new, music…and now a great label. We are very excited to have finally have a team that believes in us to release the new album.”
EMP’s A&R Director and Operations Manager Thom Hazaert says, “We are beyond thrilled to welcome YCTD into the EMP Family. They truly are bringing something new and interesting to the Extreme-Metal table, and we’re very excited that we’re able to partner with them to bring it to the World. Obviously, many in the extreme Metal World are familiar with Som’s amazing work in Cerebral Bore, and I am confident soon YCTD will be a household name in that regard as well.”
Since their Red Cord Records debut Suscitacio Somnus in 2011, and follow up, The American Dream in 2013, the band has toured with the likes of Origin, Wednesday 13, King Parrot, Arsonists Get all The Girls, Beyond Creation, and more. In late 2016, the band was direct support to Cryptopsy through Central America prior to hitting to the studio to record Ex Nihilo. From that session, the band released the track “Shadow And Flame” as part of the EMP Underground Sampler Vol. 1 in late 2016.

Progressive Metallers BELIEVER To Release New Music Throughout 2017Pennsylvania-based progressive metallers BELIEVER are back with new music. New songs from the band will be made available throughout 2017, culminating in the release of a physical product to be announced later this year. BELIEVER fans will enjoy (or not) digital releases every few months with new artwork from Eye Level Studio's Michael Rosner to accompany each release. The first installment, titled "1 Of 5", contains two songs and will be released via Trauma Team Productions on March 18. The songs were mixed by Kevin Gutierrez (RAVEN, PROJECT: FAILING FLESH, DECEASED, DYSRYTHMIA, GARDEN OF SHADOWS) at Assembly Line Studios and mastered by Bill Wolf of Wolf Productions.
As BELIEVER fans know, the band's sound is constantly evolving as they explore new creative directions with each release. Kurt Bachman (guitar/vocals) explains: "At this point our goal was to write good songs, but to also make ourselves feel a bit musically uncomfortable.
"We have long admired the musicianship of RUSH, YES, KANSAS, etc., but it was their ability to write great, memorable songs that has always inspired us.
"After 30 years, I would say that with these songs, we are combining the BELIEVER sound with our very early musical roots and having a fun time doing it!"
To coincide with the first installment of new music and to celebrate the 30th anniversary of both Pennsylvania institutions, BELIEVER and Stoudts Brewing Company (Adamstown, Pennsylvania) are releasing Believer Double Bock beer on March 18.
In true BELIEVER style, this brew is unique. The limited release Believer Double Bock Beer, aged in port and red wine barrels, blends coffee and dark chocolate malt flavors with hints of caramel and dark fruits for a taste experience that exemplifies the art of brewing beer and making music. The beer's label and packaging were also designed by Michael Rosner of Eye Level Studio. Believer Double Bock is a limited release and will be available at Stoudts Restaurant and select Pennsylvania locations.
BELIEVER gained worldwide recognition for its boundary-breaking, artistic form of progressive metal music, throwing open the doors to collaborations between metal and orchestral musicians and sealing the band's legacy. Their focus on creativity and innovation has earned praise from fans and musicians worldwide.
BELIEVER's last album, "Transhuman", was released in April 2011 via Metal Blade Records.
