Progressive Metallers BELIEVER To Release New Music Throughout 2017Pennsylvania-based progressive metallers BELIEVER are back with new music. New songs from the band will be made available throughout 2017, culminating in the release of a physical product to be announced later this year. BELIEVER fans will enjoy (or not) digital releases every few months with new artwork from Eye Level Studio's Michael Rosner to accompany each release. The first installment, titled "1 Of 5", contains two songs and will be released via Trauma Team Productions on March 18. The songs were mixed by Kevin Gutierrez (RAVEN, PROJECT: FAILING FLESH, DECEASED, DYSRYTHMIA, GARDEN OF SHADOWS) at Assembly Line Studios and mastered by Bill Wolf of Wolf Productions.
As BELIEVER fans know, the band's sound is constantly evolving as they explore new creative directions with each release. Kurt Bachman (guitar/vocals) explains: "At this point our goal was to write good songs, but to also make ourselves feel a bit musically uncomfortable.
"We have long admired the musicianship of RUSH, YES, KANSAS, etc., but it was their ability to write great, memorable songs that has always inspired us.
"After 30 years, I would say that with these songs, we are combining the BELIEVER sound with our very early musical roots and having a fun time doing it!"
To coincide with the first installment of new music and to celebrate the 30th anniversary of both Pennsylvania institutions, BELIEVER and Stoudts Brewing Company (Adamstown, Pennsylvania) are releasing Believer Double Bock beer on March 18.
In true BELIEVER style, this brew is unique. The limited release Believer Double Bock Beer, aged in port and red wine barrels, blends coffee and dark chocolate malt flavors with hints of caramel and dark fruits for a taste experience that exemplifies the art of brewing beer and making music. The beer's label and packaging were also designed by Michael Rosner of Eye Level Studio. Believer Double Bock is a limited release and will be available at Stoudts Restaurant and select Pennsylvania locations.
BELIEVER gained worldwide recognition for its boundary-breaking, artistic form of progressive metal music, throwing open the doors to collaborations between metal and orchestral musicians and sealing the band's legacy. Their focus on creativity and innovation has earned praise from fans and musicians worldwide.
BELIEVER's last album, "Transhuman", was released in April 2011 via Metal Blade Records.

DEAD CROSS Feat. MIKE PATTON, DAVE LOMBARDO: New Song 'Shillelagh' Available For Streaming"Shillelagh", a brand new song from DEAD CROSS, the Southern California outfit featuring drummer Dave Lombardo (ex-SLAYER, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, MISFITS), and singer Mike Patton (FAITH NO MORE), can be streamed using the SoundCloud widget below. The track will appear on DEAD CROSS's forthcoming debut album, which will be released later in the year via via Ipecac Recordings. The effort was helmed by producer Ross Robinson, who has previously worked with KORN, DEFTONES, SEPULTURA and LIMP BIZKIT, among others, and was mastered at Golden Mastering in Ventura, California.
DEAD CROSS, which is rounded out by Justin Pearson (THE LOCUST, RETOX, HEAD WOUND CITY) and Michael Crain (RETOX, FESTIVAL OF DEAD DEER), last year parted ways with singer Gabe Serbian.
Asked how Patton's addition to DEAD CROSS has changed the band's sound, Pearson told the Faith No More Followers web site: "It's hard to explain. The band is still finding its own skin to fit into. No matter whom you bring into a band, the sound becomes who all are part of it. Let's revisit this question after the album comes out, after we play shows with the new lineup, and after we can reflect on things."
Pearson also talked about DEAD CROSS's collaboration with Robinson. He said: "Ross is one of the most amazing people I've worked with. I'm so grateful for his involvement with the things I have been able to do with him. He has certainly helped me grow and opened my eyes and mind to so many things, musical and non-musical. And the non-musical aspects are as important as the musical, if not more. However, he didn't track Patton's vocals. The music was tracked and produced with Ross when we were working with Gabe. Once Gabe left the band, there was a shift and since then, Patton has tracked the vocals on his own." 5

VALBORG Share New Song “Bunkerluft”; AudioGerman extreme metal band, Valborg, are streaming the new song “Bunkerluft”, featured on their new album, Endstrand, out on April 7th via Lupus Lounge / Prophecy Productions. Listen to the new track below. Pre-order Endstrand at this location.
Championed by Celtic Frost / Triptykon architect Tom G. Warrior as "abundantly original and unique" and "a mixture of Bohren und der Club of Gore, early Black Sabbath and Hellhammer," Valborg creates dense, inventive music that escapes categorization. The trio’s blunt, forceful songs are at once raw and primitive yet hold a nihilistic sophistication that forges clouds of nightmarish atmosphere, giving them a narcotic, dreamlike feel that very few bands achieve.
Produced by Markus Siegenhort (Lantlôs), Endstrand is a 13 song end-time vision hosting apparitions of empty beaches, bunkers in the dunes, novel biological phenomenon, washed up artifacts, noise distorted signals and omnipresent whirring, all of which float above the backdrop of Valborg’s utterly barbaric death crunch. Forging "brutal and wasted, yet powerful" music, Valborg unleashes sound as scorched-earth policy on Endstrand, delivering an immersive mysteriousness and darkness that has earned the group the right to be called one of Europe’s most exciting extreme metal bands.
"Working with Prophecy now feels natural and good to us," comments Valborg bassist Jan Buckard. "We’re looking forward to a pleasant time together."

FOZZY Rejoined By Bassist PAUL DI LEOFOZZY — the band featuring WWE wrestling superstar Chris Jericho alongside members of STUCK MOJO — has been rejoined by bassist Paul Di Leo. Paul previously played with FOZZY between 2011 and 2014 and appeared on the group's last two studio albums, 2012's "Sin And Bones" and 2014's "Do You Wanna Start A War".
After "Do You Wanna Start A War"'s release, Di Leo was replaced on the road by Jeff Rouse and later by Randy Drake.
Said FOZZY in a statement: "We are so excited to officially welcome Paul Di Leo back into FOZZY! It's been along time coming but Paulie D has come home!"
FOZZY last fall re-signed with Century Media for the follow-up to "Do You Wanna Start A War", due later this year.
In an interview with Live Metal, Jericho talked about how various lineup changes over the years have affected FOZZY's sound. He said: "The core of the band has always been the same. It's always been me, [guitarist] Rich [Ward] and [drummer] Frank [Fontsere]. I think when you have that core element, it's gonna sound the same no matter what. There's been different bass players, but Rich plays all the guitars on the record with a few solos here and there by whoever else is in the band at the time. The songwriting is me and Rich. The core of the band is me, Rich and Frank. It's great to have [guitarist] Billy [Grey] with us for two records in a row, but if [he] left, it wouldn't really matter, because the core is still the same, the songwriting is still the same. So the band is always gonna sound like us."
"Do You Wanna Start A War" sold around 5,600 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 54 on the Billboard 200 chart. The CD arrived on July 22, 2014 via Century Media.

Former GILLAN Guitarist BERNIE TORMÉ To Release 'Dublin Cowboy' Triple Album In AprilDue on April 7 via Retrowrek Records, "Dublin Cowboy" is the new three-disc album from former GILLAN guitar legend Bernie Tormé, comprising a studio disc, an acoustic disc and a live live disc.
Says Bernie: "I always wanted to do a triple album and also an acoustic album, and combining the two seemed like the obvious idea, though truth is it nearly killed me: I'm still in recovery! But on top of all that, and with two albums of screaming wails and dive-bombs, I am totally knocked out with how the shred-free acoustic album has been received! Fans who pledged and have heard it absolutely LOVE it! Quadruple album next time? Nah, I really don't think so!"
"Dublin Cowboy" was made following a phenomenally successful pledge-fund appeal that hit its pledge target in less than nine hours. Containing twenty-nine tracks in total across the three discs, the first two are made up of brand new material, including title track, "Dublin Cowboy", and the infectiously bluesy "Power Of The Blues" on Disc 1; as well as the rich unfolding tapestry of sounds on "Shine" and "Wolfgirl", which both appear on the acoustic disc. The third disc, recorded live in South Shields in January 2016, contains live versions of classics that span Bernie Tormé's career, including old favorites "Wild West" and "New Orleans".
The album is available for purchase in CD, vinyl and digital download formats via PledgeMusic.com.
To tie in with the release of the album, there is a 2017 U.K. tour next month and the album will be formally launched at the Borderline, London on April 7. Bernie says: "Got a bunch of rock 'n' roll pint-spillers from the new 'Dublin Cowboy' album that we will be rocking out live on the tour! I can't wait, get ready people, this one will be total killer!"

MOTÖRHEAD's MIKKEY DEE Visits LEMMY Memorial Statue At The Rainbow For First Time (Video)The second episode of a new documentary, "A Week in Dee World", features video footage of former MOTÖRHEAD and current SCORPIONS drummer Mikkey Dee's first in-person viewing of the Lemmy memorial statue at the Rainbow Bar & Grill in West Hollywood, California. Check it out below.
Dee told Red Carpet News TV about iconic MOTÖRHEAD frontman Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister, who passed away in December 2015 at the age of 70: "Pretty much everything was unique with Lemmy. A lot of people saw him as a bass-player-slash-guitar-player, but to play with this man, he was extremely good. He was so heavy, so unique, and he had a certain way of bending notes and getting into breakdowns in music. He was very, very hard to play with in the beginning, but once we got together and we locked in, after a few years, he was a tremendous bass player and a singer. He was so unique. You can't really put a finger on what exactly made Lemmy, Lemmy, and that's what made him unique. It's easier to say… Some other musicians, you can say, 'Well, that guy or that girl, she's amazing on scales or chops on drums,' or whatever. Lemmy, he was just a very, very unique man in all ways, shapes and forms. And I don't know what to say more about that. You can't explain it. Why does something taste so good? Why?"
Dee also talked about the way MOTÖRHEAD's career came to an abrupt halt with Lemmy's death. "I think we went out with a bang, a big crash — a fantastic way of finishing off the band," he said. "I couldn't believe that Lemmy actually could play, knowing that… Well, you know, we struggled on the [last] European tour, but when he walked on stage, he was unbelievably good. And then he suffered from energy loss. But no one thought he was gonna pass away."
He continued: "Well, he's up there, he's down here somewhere, just laughing, and I kept saying every snare hit I do from now on until the end of my career will be a small tribute to Lemmy there — the man and friend and bandmate that I had."
As previously reported, Dee has been working with art team and publisher SceneFour on an art collection crafted from the new medium of "rhythm-on-canvas."
The complete details about the collection, which is expected to be unveiled later in the year, will be released soon.
A Week in Dee World - Episode 2
A Week in Dee World - Episode 2 - In this very special episode, we get to follow Mikkey Dee Official the first time he visited Lemmy's memorial statue at the RAINBOW BAR AND GRILL.

GIRAFFE TONGUE ORCHESTRA Feat. ALICE IN CHAINS, MASTODON, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN Members: Video Of U.S. Live DebutGIRAFFE TONGUE ORCHESTRA, the band featuring ALICE IN CHAINS singer William DuVall alongside members of MASTODON and THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, made its U.S. live debut last night (Friday, March 17) at The Sunset Room in Austin, Texas during this years South By Southwest (SXSW). Fan-filmed video footage of the performance can be seen below.
GIRAFFE TONGUE ORCHESTRA was forced to cancel its U.S. tour last November after the band's guitarist Brent Hinds (also of MASTODON) broke his leg in a motorcycle incident.
GIRAFFE TONGUE ORCHESTRA's lineup also includes William DuVall of ALICE IN CHAINS, Ben Weinman of THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, DETHKLOK bassist Pete Griffin and former THE MARS VOLTA drummer Thomas Prigden
GIRAFFE TONGUE ORCHESTRA's debut album, "Broken Lines", was released last September via Party Smasher Inc./ Cooking Vinyl.
DuVall told the Rock 98-9 radio station about the disc: "It's a serious, serious album, man. I could not be more proud of this thing. We just pushed each other to new heights all around, and it's amazing… It's such a dynamic record, and it's just so powerful. And these are some of the best lyrics that I've ever written, because I was pushed to write to this really cinematic soundtrack."
Regarding GIRAFFE TONGUE ORCHESTRA's musical direction, DuVall said: "It has a lot of what people might expect in terms of heavy, progressive… a lot of riffing, a lot of stuff going on… A lot of beats per minute, a lot of beats per second. I mean, Thomas, he can scramble the eggs like nobody else. So there is a lot of that. There's a feast for the senses. For all the musicians and musos out there, we've got you covered. But as much of that heavy, progressive stuff is there, there are also more, shall I say, straightforward, for lack of a better way of putting it, there's more straightforward tunes, but they still have the drive and the attitude and the go-for-the-throat quality. But, you know, a couple of them you might even be able to dance to as much as headbang to. We all have eclectic tastes, and we wanted to represent all of that."
GIRAFFE TONGUE ORCHESTRA made its live debut at last year's Reading (August 27) and Leeds (August 28) festivals in the United Kingdom.

Jill Janus began her musical journey as a child performing opera in Upstate New York. As a teenager, she traveled to Europe taking on coloratura soprano roles and was awarded a scholarship to the American Musical Dramatic Academy in Manhattan. Besides having a wealth of performances as a vocalist, Jill also had a very successful career as an international DJ in her 20s. Her charismatic persona and rare four-octave vocal range have made her one of the most unique performers in heavy metal today. With her band HUNTRESS, she's released three albums and toured the world with heavy hitters LAMB OF GOD, ARCH ENEMY and AMON AMARTH, to name a few. Having previously fronted the all-girl cover band CHELSEA GIRLS, Jill is thrilled to return to the stage once again performing cover songs with THE STARBREAKERS.
Los Angeles-born guitarist Nita Strauss has become a force to be reckoned with in the music world, dazzling audiences across the globe, and sharing the stage with a diverse range of artists, including rock legend Alice Cooper, R&B star Jermaine Jackson, early MTV darlings FEMME FATALE, video game supergroup CRITICAL HIT and popular tribute band THE IRON MAIDENS. Nita has been featured on the covers of worldwide print magazines and on dozens of albums, trailers, and soundtracks, including "Heroes Of The Storm" (Blizzard) and Grammy-nominated "Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance" (Konami/Platinum Games); and is the author of the Premier Guitar column "Drop Dead Shred". Nita was also the official in-house guitarist for the LA Kiss, the arena football team owned by Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons of KISS. She is one of the most sought-after clinicians in the industry and has done extensive clinic tours across multiple continents. Her consistent touring schedule has shown her to play in front of over a million audience members in both 2014 and 2015. Nita is currently playing guitar for Alice Cooper and working on original solo material.
Courtney Cox, originally from Philadelphia, first picked up a guitar at the age of 13. While still in her teens, she received immense practical exposure during her tours and stage acts with established artists such as Adrian Belew, Jon Anderson, Perry Farrell and George Lynch. She co-founded QUEEN DIAMOND, a tribute band to KING DIAMOND. Courtney moved to Los Angeles in 2009, after which she officially became a member of the world-touring tribute band THE IRON MAIDENS. As a member of THE IRON MAIDENS, Cox's stage name is "Adriana Smith", a female version of IRON MAIDEN guitarist Adrian Smith. Courtney has also been a full-time member of FEMME FATALE since 2013.
Lindsay Martin grew up in Upstate New York and started playing drums at the age of ten. Being an accomplished drummer at a young age, she earned a scholarship to USC's Music Program. Lindsay's spent time touring Europe, worked as a respected drum technician and volunteers her skills at music camps for kids. Previously she's played with THE AVIATORS and GLAM SKANKS. She's known for her aggressive rock n' roll style and precision, citing Tommy Lee and John Bonham as influences.
Emily Ruvidich is a multi-faceted musician. In addition to guitar and bass, she's an accomplished classical pianist. Although she's only twenty years old, Emily has toured nationally with several tribute bands and is currently holding down a residency in Las Vegas with all-girl cover group MISTY DAY, playing guitar and keyboard.

Listen To OBITUARY's Entire New, Self-Titled AlbumThe new self-titled album from Florida death metal veterans OBITUARY can be streamed in its entirety below. The disc is being released today (Friday, March 17) via Relapse. Also available is the "Ten Thousand Ways To Die" video, directed by Balázs Gróf.
Comments OBITUARY: "We are so stoked about the new 'Ten Thousand Ways To Die' video. We knew even while making the 'Violence' video from the 'Inked In Blood' release that there would be a continuation video to follow. It just goes to show once again that this band is not afraid to have a good time and laugh at ourselves. Balázs is an amazing artist and captured the band's characters and personalities perfectly in both videos and we are so excited to get the reaction from the OBITUARY fans."
Picking up where 2014's "Inked In Blood" left off, OBITUARY show no signs of slowing down as they continue to reign as kings of death metal. Recorded at the band's home studio in Tampa, "Obituary" is a ten-track tour de force of bone-pulverizing death metal that is as heavy, uncompromising and infectious as anything they've released in the group's historic, nearly 30-year career.
"Obituary" track listing:
01. Brave02. Sentence Day03. A Lesson In Vengeance04. End It Now05. Kneel Before Me06. It Lives07. Betrayed08. Turned To Stone09. Straight To Hell10. Ten Thousand Ways To Die
The cover art was created by Andreas Marschall and can be seen below.
Commented OBITUARY vocalist John Tardy: "When writing records the songtitles and album titles are always the last things on our minds. We know that the songs themselves are the most important thing, so with this our tenth studio album and nearly three decades as a band, we thought it was the perfect time for a self-titled release. It always helps to have a killer album cover so we worked with Andreas Marschall, gave him our ideas and thoughts and asked him to break out the big guns to create an epic logo and he delivered like he always has for OBITUARY." Added the band in a collective statement: "We could not be any more excited about this new album. We had a blast writing and recording it and having Ken [Andrews, guitar] and Terry [Butler, bass] as part of the writing process was a very cool experience for all of us.
"We really took our time with the writing process of these new songs, recording riffs and ideas as we went along and recording them as rough mixes then listening back and making necessary changes to help mold them into the songs that we are extremely proud of. "It's always a challenge in the studio to get the song ideas out of your head onto the recording the way you want but we made sure we were comfortable with the songs and the sounds we were getting before we even hit the record button and it made it a great experience.
"It's hard to believe it's been two and a half years since the release of 'Inked In Blood' and we are so excited to get this new album into the hands of our fans.
"Can't wait for everyone to hear it. Hang on to your ass!!!!"
OBITUARY will hit the road this spring as part of the 2017 Decibel Magazine Tour with KREATOR, HORRENDOUS and MIDNIGHT. The tour kicks off on March 17 in Charlotte, North Carolina and runs through April 15 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

ONE DESIRE Share New Song “This Is Where The Heartbreak Begins”; AudioFinnish rockers, One Desire, have released the new song, “This Is Where The Heartbreak Begins”, featured on their self-titled debut album, scheduled for release on March 24th. The song is available for streaming below.
One Desire was started in 2012 by drummer Ossi Sivula. A couple of years were spent writing songs and making demos with different musicians and friends with an aim to create music that could change the world. Various musicians came and went along the way, but in 2014 things started to click when they met Jimmy Westerlund (Negative, Sturm und Drang, Joel Madden of Good Charlotte, Pitbull, etc.), who has several platinum and gold albums to his credit as a producer, guitarist, and songwriter. He had just moved back to Finland after a stint in Los Angeles and the band hired him to produce some songs.
After recording three songs with a new musical direction, they managed to attract the attention of Serafino Perugino, owner and head of A&R at Frontiers Music Srl, but, at this point the band needed a great singer. After trying out some different options, Jimmy suggested his long time friend Andre Linman from the band Sturm und Drang (who had sold over 100,000 records and gone platinum and 2x gold in Finland) who had recently decided to go on hiatus. Andre got together for a couple of sessions with the guys and after writing a couple new songs together, the style and sound that was about to become One Desire was born. Ossi and Andre asked Jimmy to join the band in 2016 and this is the album that was born from that collaboration. Also, not long after this happened, the very talented Jonas Kuhlberg (Paul Di'Anno, Cain's Offering, MyGrain) was brought on and he became the last link in the chain.
This kickass new lineup perfectly captures the original vision for the band and continues upon Linman's and Westerlund's successful legacies. Musically, the band draws musical influences from classic rock bands like Journey, Toto, and Def Leppard, but also lots of heavier, more modern bands. “Our sound is very melodic, slightly pop-ish at times, but still based on a heavy rock sound,” says singer Andre Linman.
After Jimmy brought in the song “Hurt”, the band felt that that they had taken it to the next level. Andre wrote the beautiful ballad, “This Is Where The Heartbreak Begins” plus many other songs and at that time, One Desire started to find the right direction for Ossi's rocker, “Do You Believe”. Finally, in mid-2016, the band felt they finally were musically locked in and had the material to make an album that they could honestly stand behind and love beyond a shadow of a doubt.
“After the album is released we will be touring heavily, so stay tuned for some shows!” concludes Linman. 2017 will be a fantastic year as the journey of One Desire just begins!

BEHEMOTH Plots 'Spectacular' New Album, Mixes Live RecordBEHEMOTH frontman Adam "Nergal" Darski has told Metal Hammer magazine that working on his side project ME AND THAT MAN has given him a "great hunger to make new music" with his main band.
ME AND THAT MAN, which pairs Nergal with British/Polish rock musician John Porter, will release its debut album, "Songs Of Love And Death", on March 24 through Cooking Vinyl. The project draws heavily on blues, country and folk to make music as dark as if it was being screamed over shredding guitars.
Nergal told Metal Hammer: "[BEHEMOTH is] in writing mode and I've been really creative lately.
"Once I did ME AND THAT MAN, I came back with a great hunger to make new music for BEHEMOTH.
"It's a little different. On one hand, where we stopped with 'The Satanist', I take it from that place, but I'm developing. There's new sounds and there's new flavor I'm incorporating in these new songs.
"It's exciting. We've got a few songs started, some are finished — but we're not rushing. We want to make sure everyone is on the same page, everyone is happy with the process and we are comfortable with everything that comes out."
He added: "All those people who don't like that I'm doing a thing on the side, relax. BEHEMOTH is going and I bet it's going better than ever. Be patient. I've got to do this thing first, then I'll come back and do something that's spectacular again."
In other news, Nergal has revealed that BEHEMOTH is currently mixing a new album focusing on the touring cycle behind the band's 2014 album "The Satanist". It is not presently clear when the effort will be made available.
BEHEMOTH last year completed a North American tour where the band played "The Satanist" in its entirety. In addition to the concert, fans also had the chance to view "The Congregation" exhibition at each venue. Dubbed "a symbiosis of BEHEMOTH and Toxic Vision," the display showcased the collaboration between the two parties.
"The Satanist" sold around 10,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 34 on The Billboard 200 chart. 15

METALLICA: Official Video Footage Of 'Enter Sandman' Performance From Hollywood PalladiumOfficial video footage of METALLICA performing the song "Enter Sandman" on February 12 at the Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood, California can be seen below.
The intimate concert at the Hollywood Palladium — for around 3,000 or so fans — was held just hours after METALLICA powered through technical difficulties during a special duet with pop superstar Lady Gaga at the 59th annual Grammy Awards.
METALLICA has announced the European leg of its "WorldWired" tour in support of the band's new album, "Hardwired… To Self-Destruct". The trek kicks off with two shows in Amsterdam at the Ziggo Dome on September 4 and September 6. Norway's KVELERTAK will be support for the tour run.
The North American leg of the "WorldWired" 2017 tour kicks off on May 10 in Baltimore, Maryland and will hit stadiums in 25 cities before winding down in mid-August. Support on the quartet's first North American trek since 2009 will come mainly from AVENGED SEVENFOLD and VOLBEAT, with GOJIRA taking over for the latter group for the last six shows.
METALLICA frontman James Hetfield recently said on the Nerdist podcast that the band will cap its live schedule starting in 2017 at around fifty shows a year. He explained: "My body has told me to tell these guys that fifty shows a year is kind of what we can do, so make the best of those."
"Hardwired... To Self-Destruct", METALLICA's first all-new studio effort in eight years, went to No. 1 in 58 countries, including the U.S., where it topped The Billboard 200 album chart. 8

SKYCLAD Release “Change Is Coming” Lyric VideoNewcastle Upon Tyne, UK-based band, Skyclad, will release their 13th studio album, Forward Into The Past, on April 28th via Listenable Records. A lyric video for the album track, “Change Is Coming”, is available for streaming below.
“Change Is Coming” displays a series of actual images depicting the state of the world according to the band. It is shown as a TV breaking news to enhance the reality factor. The video was edited and directed by Fernando J. Martinez.
Kevin Ridley comments on the video: "When we first started discussing doing videos for the new Skyclad album with director/editor Fernando J. Martínez, we decided that didn't want to do 'typical' band videos and for “Change Is Coming” we wanted to do our own take on a 'lyric video’. The images help to show the extent of the problems humanity has created and our seeming inability to make much progress in tackling them and, indeed, some people's disregard for the consequences."
Since their inception, Skyclad have created songs out of a highly original and influential sound mixing heavy metal and traditional folk. Their lyrics have been generally permeated by political, social and environmental matters and the new album seems to be no exception as vocalist Kevin Ridley comments: "The songs are about politics, the environment and the music business and so on. These are mixed with the standard Skyclad fayre of traditional bawdy/drinking type of songs and songs with blues and more 'ethnic' feels."
Forward Into The Past artwork by Duncan Storr (who previously drew paintings for Edge Of Sanity, Rage and Hawking) displays the mesmerizing face of a man made out of trees and branches, as Kevin Ridley elaborates: “The 'green man' or 'storyteller' image used here is a traditional image (from Roman times at least in the UK) which is usually taken as 'showing the close interdependence between man and nature’.”
That natural feel is also largely expressed in the album production: "I think the new album sounds, warm, natural and 'real' (i.e. not processed or overproduced).”
Skyclad celebrates their grand return with Forward Into The Past on .

DRAGONFORCE Wrote 12-Minute 'Epic Song' In Response To Fan RequestsKash of the "Moshpit" show, which airs on the SYN 90.7 radio station in Melbourne, Australia, recently conducted an interview with DRAGONFORCE guitarist Herman Li. You can now listen to the chat below.
Asked how DRAGONFORCE's forthcoming album, "Reaching Into Infinity", is musically different to the band's previous efforts, Herman said: "I would say it's a continuation of the last album, 'Maximum Overload'. DRAGONFORCE always try to evolve and continue evolving our sound. So I think it's a natural progression as the band kind of continues to go through every album. This is just, I would say, another step and another chapter to what we've been doing. We do have a few things that people haven't heard, of course, on it, so that's where the evolution comes from."
He continued: "A lot of fans have been asking, 'Hey, why don't you guys make this massive, long epic — you know, a fifteen-minute, twenty-minute, half-an-hour song?' So we haven't done a half-an-hour song, but we have done a really long, epic song that we have been thinking about, and we finally achieved it. So I think fans will be really happy to hear something like that — just to bring another big, epic DRAGONFORCE sound."
Regarding how technological advances have affected the DRAGONFORCE songwriting and recording process since the band's early years more than a decade ago, Li said: "[It's] not so much different, to be honest, because music… We record it using a computer into a hard drive, and the software we use to record the music is still very old. Because the new software doesn't make that much of a difference to music like us, because we're not playing electronic music. We mainly just record it, like a tape recording on it. So there's not so much difference for us."
"Reaching Into Infinity" will be released on May 19 via earMUSIC. The follow-up to 2014's "Maximum Overload" will mark the band's third full-length studio release with singer Marc Hudson, who joined the group in 2011 following the departure of original frontman ZP Theart (now in SKID ROW). 7

SAULT – KAMELOT Members Form New Side Band; Singles StreamingSault is a new band featuring Kamelot members Sean Tibbetts (bass) and Casey Grillo (drums), along with Curtis Jay (guitars) and Riggs (vocals).
Sault was a creation formed by bassist Sean Tibbetts in 2014 and was originally going to be a solo album. The project soon morphed into Sault, a band that has created a truly unique style of music.
After looking for the right guitarist for quite some time Sean was introduced to guitarist Curtis Jay by long-time friend Bisquette Bewley while at a tattoo parlor. Curtis was asked to record on a few tracks for the Sault demo. The two instantly knew there was something special in the music they had just created and were driven to start on a journey that would soon lead to a full-length album.
Next was to find a singer that had a truly original quality in his voice and would fit the dark melodic melodies they were creating. Many talented singers were auditioned but none were quite what the two were looking for. After speaking with singer Kimberly Freeman of the band One Eyed Doll, Sean was referred to her friend Benjamin Riggs (Riggs). Sean contacted Riggs and asked if he would be interested in working on the project. Riggs wrote and recorded on the demo tracks and soon after hearing his truly unique vocal style was asked to be a member of the band.
Sean, being a member of the symphonic metal band Kamelot, asked his long-time friend and band mate, Casey Grillo, if he would be interested in recording the drum tracks on the Sault album. The two had held down the rhythm in Kamelot together for years and it was a natural fit.
Three singles are streaming on Sault’s official website.

STEVEN ADLER Can't Talk About His Reunion With GUNS N' ROSES AnymoreFormer GUNS N' ROSES drummer Steven Adler says that he can no longer speak in detail about what it was like to finally perform with the band again for the first time in 26 years during the 2016 leg of the "Not In This Lifetime" tour.
Last month, Adler revealed that he was originally supposed to appear at more than just a handful of shows on the GUNS N' ROSES reunion trek. He told the "One On One With Mitch Lafon" podcast that he expected to sit behind the drum kit for all the "Appetite For Destruction" material during the entire tour, only to be told he was out after he hurt his back during rehearsals. "[Bassist] Duff [McKagan] called me and said, 'Dude, you're not gonna play with us anymore,'" Adler said. "'You're not gonna do these shows.' And I was, like, 'You're the worst fucking person in the world.'"
In a brand new interview with Rolling Stone, Adler declined to discuss specifics about what happened between him and GUNS N' ROSES. "I had the best experience last year playing with them last year," he said. "I wish Izzy [Stradlin, guitar] was there, but it was so great since I finally got to have some closure. It was wonderful. I don't have nothing else to say about it. I'm really sorry. That's all I can tell you. There's nothing to say. I literally, literally honest to god literally, I can't even tell you why I can't tell you any more. Literally, okay? I really can't. I just can't."
Adler appeared with GUNS N' ROSES onstage last November in Buenos Aires, Argentina, as well as on three separate occasions during the U.S. leg of the "Not In This Lifetime" tour last summer.
This marked Adler's first appearance with GUNS N' ROSES since 1990, although he performed with members of the band at their 2012 induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
Speculation about Adler having some sort of involvement in the GUNS N' ROSES reunion has been rampant ever since the band made it official with a surprise April 1, 2016 show at The Troubadour in Los Angeles.
The regular GUNS N' ROSES drummer for several years has been Frank Ferrer, who is also part of the current lineup that boasts classic-GN'R members Axl Rose, Slash and McKagan.
Adler was thrown out of GUNS N' ROSES in 1990 due to his heavy drug use, a problem he struggled with for years after his dismissal.

ADRENALINE RUSH Streaming New Song “Stand My Ground”The release of Adrenaline Rush’s second album, Soul Survivor, is set for April 21st. Following the successful release of the band’s 2014 self-titled debut album, Adrenaline Rush are now ready to unleash their next infectious slice of hard, sleaze, melodic rock on the rock 'n roll masses. The album track “Stand My Ground” is available for streaming below.
This time, blond bombshell vocalist Tåve Wanning mainly collaborated with Fredrik Folkare (Firespawn, Unleashed), who brought fresh influences to the table that fit very well with Tåve’s ideas. The music has evolved and grown beyond what appeared on the debut. It is still melodic and definitely has an 80’s flavour, but also is a bit more complex, darker, and heavier than the previous album. The production is edgier and the guitar work once again pristine. Erik Martensson (Eclipse (Sweden)) was once again involved as a sounding board, co-writing a song and mastering the finished tracks.
“I didn’t want to make another album just like the first one,” Tåve says. “I’ve grown since we recorded the first, I am in a different place. And I feel the album reflects that. The new tracks really complement the old instead of replacing them; they add a new dimension and gives us a broader spectrum of songs to choose from when playing live.”
The band has also seen some changes. Former members Ludvig and Soufian left the band to focus on other endeavours and have been replaced by Sam Soderlindh (lead guitar) and Joel Fox (bass). Sam is a new face to most, a young guitarist with fast fingers and a lot of potential. Joel, on the other hand, has been around for a while in bands like Dynazty and Siniestro. Alexander Hagman and Marcus Johansson complete the band’s line-up on guitar and drums respectively.
The band is set to perform a few club gigs in Sweden, before appearing at the 4th annual Frontiers Rock Festival in Milano, Italy, on April 30th.
"Hope to see you at a gig. Until then… enjoy the Rush!" encourages Tåve!

FOREIGNER’s KELLY HANSEN And JEFF PILSON Perform “Feels Like The First Time” On Nights With ALICE COOPER; VideoKelly Hansen and Jeff Pilson of Foreigner dropped by the Nights With Alice Cooper studios to perform an acoustic version of their classic hit, “Feels Like The First Time”. Video footage of the performance can be seen below:
Foreigner are celebrating their 40th anniversary by bringing their friends along for a year-long celebration.
First up is a mammoth worldwide tour, set to launch in Syracuse, NY on July 11th. For the US shows presented by Live Nation, Foreigner will be alongside Rock & Roll Hall Of Famers Cheap Trick - who are also celebrating 40 years since the release of their self-titled debut album - and special guest Jason Bonham who will be bringing the music of Led Zeppelin to great night of rock ’n’ roll. Tickets available at livenation.com.
“I never could have imagined when I set out to create Foreigner forty years ago, that we’d still be touring around the world and performing the music we love all these years later,” says Mick Jones. “I can’t express the gratitude I feel when fans share stories of how our songs have been woven into their milestones and memories over the years. This summer we are going to celebrate these songs, and I can’t imagine a better group of friends to share this monumental tour with, than Cheap Trick and Jason Bonham who are sure to make it a true tribute to the everlasting power of rock and roll."
Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2016, Cheap Trick is undoubtedly one of the most influential classic rock groups of the past 50 years. They have performed over 5,000 shows spanning four decades and have sold 20 million records worldwide. Cheap Trick formed in 1974 and while they have evolved throughout the years, the band continues to reach mainstream and critical success. Hits such as "I Want You To Want Me”, “Dream Police" and "Surrender" have cemented the group as one of America's top rock 'n' roll bands of all time. In 2016, Cheap Trick released its 17th studio collection, Bang Zoom Crazy…Hello
“I was thrilled to hear Mick Jones wanted me to be involved in celebrating 40 years of Foreigner. I spent 3 years as their drummer and had a great time," says Jason Bonham. "Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience show will hit home run after home run with these timeless classics done to perfection. JBLZE started 7 years ago as a way to show my appreciation not only to my dad and the music of Led Zeppelin, but also to the fans themselves. With the amazing Cheap Trick along with the one and only Foreigner this is show not to be missed.”
To coincide with the tour, Foreigner - Mick Jones (lead guitar), Kelly Hansen (lead vocals), Jeff Pilson (bass, vocals), Tom Gimbel (rhythm guitar, sax, vocals), Michael Bluestein (keyboards), Bruce Watson (guitar) and Chris Frazier (drums) - will be releasing a celebratory 40th anniversary album that features forty Foreigner tracks throughout the years entitled 40 - Forty Hits From Forty Years (Rhino). This album is a comprehensive compilation of original hits and several tracks from the current lineup with Kelly Hansen on vocals including “Cant Slow Down”, “Too Late” and the Top 20 AC hit “When It Comes To Love”. The album also features two new songs, “The Flame Still Burns”, and “Give My Life For Love”, a brand new song by Jones. Rhino is kicking off a year-long catalog promotion with the January 24th picture disc release of Head Games.
Since the 1977 release of their first hit “Feels Like The First Time” and their self-titled debut album on Atlantic Records, Foreigner has been universally hailed as one of the world’s most popular rock acts with 10 multi-platinum albums, 16 Top 30 hits, and worldwide album sales exceeding 75 million. Responsible for some of rock and roll’s most enduring anthems including “Juke Box Hero,” “Cold as Ice”, “Feels Like The First Time”, “Urgent”, “Head Games”, “Say You Will”, “Dirty White Boy”, “Long, Long Way From Home”, and the worldwide #1 hit, “I Want To Know What Love Is”, Foreigner continues to rock the charts more than thirty years into the game.
Recent albums like Juke Box Heroes, a new compilation of digitally recorded Foreigner hits, and The Best of Foreigner 4 & More, recorded live from The Borgata, Atlantic City, both entered the Billboard Top 200 chart. Foreigner also featured strongly in every category in Billboard's recently released Greatest Of All Time listing. Catalog sales often eclipse those of Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Def Leppard, Van Halen and most of their Classic Rock peers (Source: Nielsen SoundScan 2/11/16 - 2/3/16).

Early PEARL JAM Drummer Has To Skip ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME CeremonyAccording to The Pulse Of Radio, one of the former PEARL JAM drummers invited by the band to attend its induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame next month has indicated that he won't attend the ceremony. Matt Chamberlain, who played with the group in the early stages of the "Ten" touring cycle back in 1991 and appeared in the video for "Alive", said that work commitments will prevent him from attending the ceremony. He told Rolling Stone: "I'm so happy they are getting honored by the Hall Of Fame. They are good friends and total inspirations. I wish them all the best. Of course, I appreciate the shoutout."
Dave Abbruzzese, the drummer on the "Vs." and "Vitalogy" albums who has been the most vocal about being excluded from the induction, reposted PEARL JAM's invite on his Facebook page, seeming to indicate that he will likely attend. Reports that claimed he would not show up were deemed false.
Jack Irons, who played on the "No Code" and "Yield" albums and tours, has yet to issue a statement on the matter.
The only two drummers who will actually be inducted with the band are original stickman Dave Krusen and current drummer Matt Cameron.
Krusen, who played in PEARL JAM during its formative months and left shortly after the recording of its 1991 debut album "Ten", was asked if he would be up for jamming with his former bandmates at the Hall Of Fame ceremony in April. He told Rolling Stone: "I think the fans would dig that. I'd love to do it … I don't think it is likely, but I'm down."
PEARL JAM will be inducted alongside JOURNEY, Joan Baez, ELO, YES and Tupac Shakur at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on April 7.
An edited version of the 32nd annual Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony will later air on HBO and there will be a radio broadcast on SiriusXM.
Artists are eligible for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame 25 years after the release of their first album or single.

HAREM SCAREM Present Audio Tease Of New Album UnitedHarem Scarem's 14th studio album, United, will be released on May 12th. The new recording offers up 11 tracks of trademark Harem Scarem music from Harry Hess (lead vocals, keyboards), Pete Lesperance (guitars, bass, keyboards), long-time drummer Creighton Doane, and backing vocals from original sticksman Darren Smith (who will be playing live drums for the band on tour dates). The band is back and stronger than ever.
Check out this just released 30-second audio teaser:
Frontman Harry Hess says: "This year will mark the 30th year of Harem Scarem and I can tell you that we are just as excited about writing and recording today as we were then. The brand new United album is one of the best collection of songs we have ever put on one release and I can't wait for everyone to hear it!"
Harem Scarem make it clear they still have something to say right from the start with the title track, "United", a chunky slice of guitar-driven melodic rock nirvana that kicks off their strongest studio outing since the early 00’s. From there, the album lifts off with well-crafted songs featuring big choruses with simple and addictive hook-laden earworms. Each track carries a power-rock-packed punch, swaggering riffs, and hooks to die for. Hess and Lesperance without a doubt show the world that their partnership still works, that they indeed are still "United".
With sales well over a million records in 43 countries and 12 top 40 hits around the globe, 2017 will see Harem Scarem return and ready to dominate while touring the world in support of their 14th studio album, United.

Spain’s THE WIZARDS Sign With Fighter Records; Announce Full Moon In Scorpio AlbumSpanish '70s hard and heavy rock band The Wizards have inked a deal with Fighter Records for the release of their second album, Full Moon In Scorpio, which will see the light on May 16th internationally.
Formed in Bilbao (Basque Country) back in 2013, these five outcasts decided to form a band after several intense sessions of drug abuse and hard liquor drinking marathons at backyard parties where the records of Black Sabbath, Danzig, The Cult, Blue Oyster Cult, Pentagram, Deep Purple, Dio, Horisont, and Electric Wizard were played so loud, neighbors would call the police sooner than expected.
In January 2014, The Wizards recorded their first demo, Plagues. With only four songs recorded and a bunch of covers, they were able to win the 26th edition of the local pop/rock contest Villa de Bilbao, and during 2015, they released their self-titled debut album through their own label, Witch Records, in collaboration with French label Geea Music.
The band played live in France, Basque Country, and Spain opening for legendary bands and artists such as The Dictators, Iggy Pop, and Turbonegro, sharing the stage with bands like Horisont, Peter Pan Speed Rock, and Hypnos among others. They were even invited to participate in festivals such as Madrid Stoner Scene Fest, Kriston Fest, and Faan Fest.
During April 2016, The Wizards entered Gaua Studio together with Brooklyn-based produced Dean Rispler, current bass-player for The Dictators. During two weeks, they recorded eight songs that form their upcoming second album, Full Moon in Scorpio, engineered by Asier Zubelbu and mixed & mastered by Jesse Cannon (The Cure, The Misfits, The Dillinger Escape Plan) at Cannon Found Soundation in Union City, New Jersey.
Full Moon In Scorpio contains eight tracks of hard & heavy rock attack, the lyrics dealing with such issues as the destruction of the veils that blind us, the vast concepts of space and time, the search for spiritual enlightenment, and so on. For the band, it truly means a step forward in their quest for world domination. The sound is bigger, the songs are better, and The Wizards are ready to destroy and fuck things up wherever their presence is needed. The western world is collapsing - let's dance over the fires while we howl at the Scorpio Moon.
The Wizards' Full Moon in Scorpio will be released May 16th through Fighter Records on CD and vinyl LP formats.

FAMOUS UNDERGROUND Welcome THE UNCHAINED Guitarist WOLFGANG VERBEKE To The Fold; Toronto Show AnnouncedToronto's Famous Underground, featuring former Slik Toxik frontman Nick Walsh, have welcomed guitarist Wolfgang Verbeke to the fold. Verbeke is known for his work with instrumental groove rock band The Unchained, and worked with Walsh previously in Revolver.
In addition, Famous Underground have announced a show for Toronto at The Rockpile on April 1st. Details are availailable below.
Famous Underground officially announce the release of their brand new digital 45, “Corrupted”. The digital 45 has two singles, Side A features their brand new song “Corrupted”, and the B Side is a mash up of Megadeth’s “Peace Sells” with Bob Marley’s “Get Up, Stand Up”.
“Corrupted” delivers energy and power; it’s definitely a track that gets the fists pumping. If you are listening to “Corrupted” while driving, Warning - keep your eye on the speedometer.
The tracks were mastered by Harry Hess of HBomb Mastering (Three Days Grace, Monster Truck, Madonna) and mixed by Daniel Tsourounis (Skullfist, Moxy).
Famous Underground decided to release “Corrupted” as a digital 45 as a way to engage with fans and new listeners on a more frequent basis. Like in the 50’s and 60’s, bands, like the Beatles and Stones released singles regularly before even packaging it as an album. Since people are not buying CDs as much these days, Famous Underground wanted to embrace the traditional and release two new tracks every couple of months.
Famous Underground chose to release Megadeth’s “Peace Sells” since they were already performing this at their live shows. The idea to meld "Get Up, Stand Up” with this track came to Nick while he was listening to Bob Marley. He felt the two songs would work well together because of their lyrical points of view.
The digital 45 is available now worldwide on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon Music, Google Play, iHeartRadio and Slacker to name a few.
