ASPHYX To Release 'Incoming Death' Album In SeptemberDutch doom death metal pioneers ASPHYX will release their new studio album, "Incoming Death", on September 30 via Century Media Records. The follow-up to 2012's "Deathhammer" was recorded at several diffferent studios throughout 2016 and was once more mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö, who previously worked with the band on the "Deathhammer", "Death…The Brutal Way" and "Live Death Doom" releases.
Commented ASPHYX vocalist Martin Van Drunen: "Four and a half years after the release of 'Deathhammer', we finally managed to finish its long-awaited successor. Expect eleven unmerciful battering tracks in the typical ASPHYX death/doom style, but also the most varied ASPHYX material up to date without losing our rawness, brutality and heaviness.
"The album will be entitled 'Incoming Death'. And like 'Deathhammer', it's a phrase that doesn't really exist, but refers to what entrenched soldiers cry out when under severe artillery fire. Thus 'Incoming Death' implies another relentless bombardment of monstrous ASPHYX death/doom metal!" He continues: "Serious ear bleeding is guaranteed! It's also our first record also featuring 'Husky' on drums, who is now with us for already two and a half years molesting the pig skins with the absolute perfect ASPHYX attitude, passion, pride and mayhem.
"We are very proud of this best ASPHYX album ever! And knowing our dedicated fans worldwide, they will be proud of us as well! Soon we will hit the stages on every continent to do what we do best: intense, loud, sweaty, filthy and ruthless live performances!"
"Deathhammer" entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 67. The CD was released in February 2012 via Century Media Records. ASPHYX is:

OPETH: 'Sorceress' Artwork, Track Listing, Release Date RevealedSwedish progressive metallers OPETH will release their twelfth album, "Sorceress", on September 30. The band's first effort for Nuclear Blast via OPETH's imprint label Moderbolaget Records is proof chief architect Mikael Åkerfeldt has a near-endless well of greatness inside. From the album's opener "Persephone" to "The Wilde Flowers" and "Strange Brew" to the album's counterpart title tracks "Sorceress" and "Sorceress II", OPETH's new full-length is an unparalleled adventure, where visions cleverly and secretly change, colors mute as if weathered by time, and sounds challenge profoundly.
For "Sorceress", OPETH returned to Rockfield Studios in Wales, also home to pivotal releases from QUEEN, RUSH and JUDAS PRIEST, where the Swedes had tracked "Pale Communion" in 2014 with Tom Dalgety. The band spent twelve days recording at the countryside venue among its serene and inspiring surroundings. The result is nothing short of a powerful and intriguing record that will add yet another layer to the band's celebrated career.
"The new album 'Sorceress' is our twelfth studio album since our beginnings in 1990," says Åkerfeldt. "I find it difficult to understand that we've been going on for twenty-six years, let alone that we've made twelve records now, all of which I am very proud of. 'Sorceress' is no exception.
"I love this album, as does the whole band. I wrote the music during five-six months and we spent only twelve days recording it at Rockfield studios in Wales.
"I find that once again we've taken a step forward. Or sideways, Or backwards. Somewhere!? It's different! It's extremely diverse. And if I may say so myself, extremely good. I feel the right to say that since I like to think I know this band better than anyone on the planet. Also, I always manage to detach myself from the record and listen as a fan.
"It's a fine little record. My favorite in our discography right now. Of course. That's how it should be, right? It's both fresh and old, both progressive and rehashed. Heavy and calm. Just the way we like it. Hopefully there'll be others around the globe sharing this opinion. It was a joy to make it. A fucking joy to record it, and a sheer joy listening to it. So there you have it!"
"Sorceress" track listing:
01. Persephone
02. Sorceress
03. The Wilde Flowers
04. Will O The Wisp
05. Chrysalis
06. Sorceress 2
07. The Seventh Sojourn
08. Strange Brew
09. A Fleeting Glance
10. Era
11. Persephone (Slight Return)
OPETH has announced a North American headline tour, set to kick off with a performance at Ozzfest Meets Knotfest on September 24 in San Bernardino, California. The tour, with THE SWORD as support, will continue through the following month before wrapping up on October 26 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. 24

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE To Begin Recording New Album By The End Of The YearQueens Of The Stone Age guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen recently guested on 2 Hours With Matt Pinfield and revealed the band is due to start recording a new album by the end of the year.
Van Leeuwen: "We've already started talking about what we're gonna do next for the next Queens record. There's tons of ideas that are bouncing around. We're going to do something before the end of the year, as far as recording goes. We're excited to get back together to follow-up ...Like Clockwork, which was a really, really big record for us, personally. It was a big record for us because it was the hardest record to make, and we're trying to not do that again. We just want to keep things simpler and try that."
Lo Sound Desert, the video documentary about the Californian Desert music scene, which gave birth to bands like Queens Of The Stone Age, Kyuss, Fu Manchu and more, was released on July 1st via Monoduo Films. A decade in the making by filmmaker Jörg Steineck (Truckfighters), Lo Sound Desert is the definite music documentary about desert rock. A video trailer can be found below.
Lo Sound Desert provides a deep, intimate look into the Low Desert music scene’s history with never-ending jams in the middle of the desert which continues to live on with the same vitality, authenticity and resilience as two decades ago. Lo Sound Desert is narrated by Josh Homme (Kyuss, Eagles Of Death Metal, Queens of the Stone Age, Them Crooked Vultures), Brant Bjork (Kyuss, Fu Manchu), Mario Lalli (Fatso Jetson, Orquestra del Desierto, Ten East, The Perfect Rat) and many other from bands like Kyuss, Queens Of The Stone Age, Yawning Man, Fatso Jetson, Mondo Generator, Dali’s Llama, Hornss, Slo Burn, Unida and Fu Manchu.
What was started by revolting punk rock kids throwing parties in the middle of the desert - hidden from narrow-minded authorities of suburban America in the early 80s, became a movement over the years.
“If my opinion matters, this film is very authentic.” - Brant Bjork (Kyuss)
“Outstanding! One of the rare rock documentaries that will survive.” - Mario Lalli (Fatso Jetson)
From endless jams in unconditioned rehearsal garages to wasteland venues to smoked-up European backstage rooms: ‘Desert Rock’, a specific vibe of pure analog rock music, was fostered by the beauty of a surrounding that naturally provides a lot of space. Until nowadays it continued its slow-moving underground spread and became international treasure. In a way Desert Rock never reached extreme popularity like simultaneously grown, commercially hyped Grunge Rock in the early 90’s. But it still seems to be around and inspires new generations of rock bands to carry on.

ABOMINANT - New Track "Burning Hemisphers" StreamingDeathgasm Records will release the eleventh official studio full-length album from long-running Kentucky-based death metal legion, Abominant, on July 29th. Listen to the track, "Burning Hemisphers" below.
For twenty-three years, Abominant has done their best to write individual songs rather than repeating the same style, in the process simultaneously enticing or alienating much of the metal underground, causing them to maintain a purely cult status. With no interest in trends or genres, they've always carved their own path through the metal underworld, recognizing the appeal of individuality and attempting to separate themselves from getting lost in the sea of brutality. The band's relentless eleventh album, Napalm Reign was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Scott Briggs and Abominant inside Velocity Studios during the Winter months of 2015/16. Napalm Reign spews forth eleven brand new aural assaults and showcases the band executing their subterranean thrash-tinged blackened death with the passion and vehemence of true scene veterans. Check out the cover art and tracklisting:
"No Peace"
"Reborn Through Bloodshed"
"Iron Clad"
"Hordes Of Desolation"
"Burning Hemispheres"
"The Watchers"
"Truth Beyond Belief"
"As Evil Rears Its Head"
"The Villains Veil"
"Out Of The Shadows"
"Scream In The Night"
"Burning Hemispheres":
Preorders for the CD and digital versions of Napalm Reign can be placed at this location where you can also sample streams of "The Watchers" and "As Evil Rears Its Head", or alternately enjoy them via the audio player below.
Abominant has shared the stage with dozens of national and international acts including: Deicide, Aborted, Rotting Christ, Death Angel and Belphegor as well as personal underground favorites like Nunslaughter, Incantation, Deceased, and many others. Expect new tour dates in support of Napalm Reign to be announced in the coming weeks.

DEATH SS Sign With Shadow Kingdom Records For Reissue Of First Three AlbumsShadow Kingdom Records has announced the signing of Italy's legendary Death SS for the reissue of the band's first three albums: 1988's ...In Death Of Steve Sylvester, 1989's Black Mass, and 1991's Heavy Demons. Each album will be released on CD, vinyl, and cassette formats, (as well as digital) with a t-shirt design produced for each album cover. Additionally, each of these three classic albums will be faithfully restored to their origin sound and design, as per the band's specifications.
Long a cult name in the international heavy metal scene, Death SS have influenced thousands over the past three decades in their long, twisted history, equally influencing the nascent speed metal and black metal scenes with their trademark ghoulish and theatrical presentation. Shadow Kingdom couldn't be prouder and more honored to have Death SS amongst its roster, most of which have been shaped by the band in one way or another.
Founded in 1977 by vocalist Stefano Silvestri - whose initials gave the band their "SS" appellation - the first Death SS lineup was soon complete with the addition of guitarist Paolo Catena, bassist Daniele Ugolini, and drummer Tomaso Castaldi. All four members took artistic names the way their names would be in English: Steve Sylvester as The Vampire, Paul Chain as The Death, Danny Hughes as The Mummy, and Tommy Chaste as The Werewolf. Steve Sylvester and Paul Chain soon started to compose their first songs: "Terror" (1977), "Zombie" (1977), "Horrible Eyes" (1978), "Murder Angels" (1979), and "The Hanged Ballad" (1979).
Contrary to popular belief, there were lineup changes from 1977 to 1982. As Steve Sylvester stated in an interview for Trumetal.it webzine on December 2005, "Danny Hughes were really two individuals, the same way Tommy Chaste were three. It all came from my haste to quickly establish the names of the musicians that were part of the band, in a sort of magical pact. The first Danny Hughes (Daniele Ugolini) was the first guy that played the bass on the band, but […] he was substituted by Gabriele Tomassini, who became the new Danny Hughes (II). As for the musicians nicknamed Tommy Chaste, nothing is known about the first out of his real name (Tomaso Castaldi). The second was Franco Caforio (who lately gained fame with the Italian rock band Litfiba) and took the name of Thomas Chaste. The third one (Andrea Vianelli; the first one to be called with the compound name Thomas Hand Chaste) entered in Death SS in October, 1980. There’s only one recording available previous to the entrance of Andrea Vianelli, that is the rehearsal version of 'Zombie' from 1979 released on Zombie/Terror single, contained in The Cursed Singles boxed set (1995)."
Claudio Galeazzi (Claud Galley, The Zombie) also entered in the band in 1980 as rhythm guitar player, and Death SS became a quintet. This lineup recorded the demo The Horned God of the Witches (1981), unreleased as such for the general public (only two copies exist) but contained in The Story of Death SS compilaton LP (1987). The Mummy (Gabriele Tomassini) left in 1982, and Claud Galley took the bass instead. Again as a four-piece, the band recorded Demo II, which included "Horrible Eyes," "Cursed Mama," and "Kings of Evil." Other songs were composed but not recorded before Steve Sylvester left the band: "Welcome to my Hell," "Inquisitor," "Black And Violet," and "Chains Of Death," for example, would see the light in other points of Steve Sylvester’s and Paul Chain’s careers. 1

HELL IN THE CLUB Featuring SECRET SPHERE, ELVENKING Members Ink Multi-Album DealItaly’s Hell In The Club have inked a multi-album deal with Frontiers Music Srl.
Hell In The Club is the rock n’ roll monster created by members of two of the most talented Italian heavy metal bands around: Andy (Andrea Buratto), bass player of Secret Sphere and Elvenking’s Dave (Davide Moras) on vocals. With a lineup completed by Marco “Lancs” Lanciotti on drums and Andrea “Picco” Piccardi on guitar, HITC released three increasingly acclaimed studio albums which eventually brought the band to the attention of Frontiers, who decided to snap them up.
For the uninitiated, Hell In The Club mixes classic hard rock and modern sounds, heavy metal and party songs, '50s rock n’ roll and anything in between.
“We are thrilled to announce that we just inked a deal with Frontiers Music Srl, home of some of the greatest hard rock bands out there - many of which are among our biggest musical influences,” announced the band. “This is definitely a big step forward for Hell In The Club, we are really happy and proud as Italians to be part of this family! We are already working hard on the new songs, so get ready since the new album will be released sooner than you think!”

SENTENCED - Four Classic Albums To Be Reissued On Vinyl In August; Pre-Order LaunchedAs of today you can pre-order the re-issues of four classic Sentenced albums on vinyl (due in August). Check here and order the copies of your choice. Below is some additional info on the four different LP releases.
Released in 1998, Frozen – the second album featuring Ville Laihiala on vocals – walks the paths Sentenced have chosen with the preceding album Down, featuring classic tracks as “Farewell”, “The Suicider”, “The Rain Comes Falling Down” or the outstanding instrumental tune “Mourn”, doubtlessly one of the finest and saddest instrumental tracks of all times. The vinyl version of Frozen was released by the Italian label Night Of The Vinyl Dead in 2007. Due to its strict limitation of 500 copies only it sold out in no time and has become one of the most sought after vinyl releases of the entire Sentenced catalogue. Now you have the chance to get your hands on this classic release in new shape with gatefold cover, the original silver album artwork, special vinyl mastering, inlay and 180g vinyl.
Frozen is available in the following vinyl colours:
Black: Unlimited, available to all outlets
Transparent-blue: Limited to 100 copies, exclusively available at CM Distro Europe
Silver: Limited to 200 copies, exclusively available at EMP
Clear: Limited to 200 copies, exclusively available at Levykauppa Äx
Crimson, released in 2000, manifested Sentenced’s reputation of being one of the most talented and most unique Finnish metal bands. The album contains classic tracks as “Bleed In My Arms”, “Fragile”, “Dead Moon Rising” and the mournful “Killing Me Killing You”. The album was so far only released on picture vinyl (limited to 1000 copies) that omitted the track “My Slowing Heart” due to the album’s extensive playing time. Now Crimson gets re-released on vinyl in its full glory with gatefold sleeve, vinyl mastering, inlay, double 180g vinyl and an etching on side. And of course it now includes the missing track.
This is the vinyl colour split:
Black: Unlimited, available to all outlets
Transparent-orange: Limited to 100 copies, exclusively available at CM Distro Europe
Yellow: Limited to 200 copies, exclusively available at EMP
Transparent-red: Limited to 200 copies, exclusively available at Levykauppa Äx
Golden: Limited to 100 copies, exclusively available at CM Distro US
Sentenced’s greatest success and until this very day one of the best gothic metal albums ever released. The Cold White Light is packed with the finest tracks the band has ever written: “Cross My Heart And Hope To Die”, “Brief Is The Light”, “Aika multaa muistot (Everything Is Nothing)”, “Excuse Me While I Kill Myself” or the epic final track “No One There” ... The Cold White Light oozes of unforgettable melodies and haunting Finnish melancholy. Originally released on limited black vinyl, the LP version of The Cold White Light has become one of the rarest Sentenced releases. Now the album is offered on vinyl again, with gatefold cover, 180g vinyl, special vinyl mastering and inlay. There is a bunch of different vinyl colours available.
Be quick as those will be gone very soon:
Black: Unlimited, available to all outlets
Clear: Limited to 100 copies, exclusively available at CM Distro Europe
Transparent-blue: Limited to 200 copies, exclusively available at EMP
White: Limited to 200 copies, exclusively available at Levykauppa Äx
Silver: Limited to 100 copies, exclusively available at CM Distro US
Sentenced’s swan song album and a worthy end of a flawless discography. “The Funeral Album” combines all the strengths of Sentenced for one last time. “May Today Become The Day”, “Vengeance Is Mine”, “Despair-Ridden Hearts” or “End Of The Road” show the band’s uniqueness and talent for one last time. This new vinyl version comes with gatefold sleeve, 180g vinyl, inlay and vinyl mastering.
Offered in the following vinyl colours:
Black: Unlimited, available to all outlets
Clear: Limited to 100 copies, exclusively available at CM Distro Europe
Golden: Limited to 200 copies, exclusively available at EMP
Silver: Limited to 200 copies, exclusively available at Levykauppa Äx 4

“The Price Is Wrong”:
“Periphery III: Select Difficulty is finally complete and we’re extremely excited to show everyone,” said guitar player Jake Bowen. “For the past couple of years we’ve been refining our collaborative process as a band and we feel that it’s only getting better with the completion of this album. We spent two months writing songs that are not only representative of the Periphery sound but also reflect where all of us are as musicians, working together has helped us tread new ground musically and creatively. In support of Periphery III you’ll see us hit the road in the States this summer with SikTh, Chon, and Toothgrinder on the Sonic Unrest tour, it’s going to be a blast! See you on the road!”
Periphery’s own Adam “Nolly” Getgood oversaw production for the album as he did with the Juggernaut releases. Nolly will no longer be a touring member of Periphery, as he will be expanding his production work in his native UK. He remains an integral part, and a member, of Periphery. At this time no decision has been made about a touring bassist.
“Touring with Periphery has shown me some of the most incredible experiences I could ever have imagined, to meet amazing people all over the world and to create friendships for life; it has truly been an honour to perform in front of every audience who has watched us play over the years. However the touring life isn’t something that everyone can continue doing indefinitely, and for me, the time has come where I want to settle into a more normal existence, be able to make plans further into the future than the touring life enables, and to be able to focus more on the studio side of my music career,” explained Nolly. “I will, however, be remaining as a band member and contributing in any way that I can while the band is off the road; I love all of my fellow bandmates like brothers and I’m so grateful for the incredible support they’ve shown as I make this huge life change. I know they are going to be taking the music and performances to the next level when they hit the road later this year.”
The Sonic Unrest tour, a month-long outing, sponsored by D’Addario and Guitar Center, includes openers SikTh, Chon and Toothgrinder and kicks off on August 4th in Raleigh, NC. Tickets are on-sale this Friday at 10 AM, local time. VIP packages, which feature a private meet and greet with the band as well as a limited edition, exclusive poster are available simultaneously via periphery.net.

Video: 82-Year-Old 'America's Got Talent' Contestant Joins DROWNING POOL On Stage At INK IN THE CLINK82-year-old John Hetlinger, who became a viral video sensation last month when he belted out the DROWNING POOL classic "Bodies" on the NBC series "America's Got Talent", joined the band again on stage Saturday (July 16) to perform the song at the Ink In The Clink festival in Mansfield, Ohio. Video footage of his appearance can be seen below.
Hetlinger's first live appearance with DROWNING POOL took place one day earlier — on Friday, July 15 — at the Chicago Open Air festival.
The Navy veteran and aerospace manager told KUSA that he was surprised by the reaction to his "America's Got Talent" performance.
"I didn't know two and a half thousand in the audience would react the same way that 30 drunks in the bar do, but they did!" he said.
"Everybody seems to think it's great that an old man is screaming 'let the bodies hit the floor!'" John added.
Hetlinger, who was a Navy pilot, later a minister and then an aerospace engineer for Ball Aerospace in Boulder where he worked on a team that made repairs to the Hubble telescope, said that he was not bothered by any of the criticism of his performance.
"There are reviews in all the heavy metal magazines and all over the world, but they include statements like, 'Well, admittedly he doesn't sing very well,'" John said with a laugh.
John, who also has ROB ZOMBIE's "Dragula" in his repertoire, got hooked on karaoke after singing during talent shows on cruise ships in the '90s.
"He likes attention," John's wife, Marcy, said. "He's the youngest of five kids."
DROWNING POOL guitarist CJ Pierce said he first heard about Hetlinger's performance when family and friends starting texting him about it, explaining: "I picked up my phone and I got a handful of texts from a number of people because I guess it got out yesterday ahead of the airing… I watched it, and man, I am so entertained by it. It's awesome to just see an 82-year-old man get out there and just belt out some metal — whether it was our song or any song, it was just killer to see him do that."
Pierce adding jokingly about DROWNING POOL's history of changing singers, "You know, we've had a revolving door, but Jasen Moreno is our man right now. But if he doesn't work out, we always know we've got John on the backburner."
"Bodies" was DROWNING POOL's first big hit back in 2001, when it appeared on the band's debut album "Sinner". The band's original singer, Dave Williams, died that August of heart disease.
Despite being a huge rock radio smash, it was removed from radio playlists for a while later that year in the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks.
DROWNING POOL's sixth studio album, "Hellelujah", came out earlier this year and features the singles "By The Blood" and "Hell To Pay".

Video: SACRED REICH Performs At DYNAMO METALFESTFan-filmed video footage of SACRED REICH's July 16 performance at the Dynamo Metalfest in Eindhoven, The Netherlands can be seen below.
SACRED REICH guitarist Wiley Arnett recently spoke to TotalRock Radio about the fact that the band hasn't released any new music in twenty years even though it has been playing sporadic shows for the past decade. "We made a conscious decision to walk away from it," Wiley said. "And then, I think around 2004 was the first time I heard we were being invited to come play festivals. And we kind of talked quietly: 'What?' And then it was around 2006 that it started to make sense, and we started to talk about, 'Hey, what do you guys think? Three years in a row, they're asking us to come. Maybe we should go play this festival.'"
He continued: "We never hated each other. We just agreed to give it a break. We did it for a lot of years. NIRVANA got big. Metal was going away. We had a good run. 'Maybe we should go buy houses and raise our kids,' was kind of the thought process. That was cool. No one was hurt about it. It was just time to change. Priorities change. And then, a lot of years later, this opportunity came up, which was pretty surprising for us, the first time we heard it. And we thought, 'Oh, it's a one-time deal. We'll go out and play Wacken [Open Air in Germany] and we'll have a great experience. We'll take some pictures. And how cool was that?' The return created more interest, and then other people [said], Oh, you guys are playing? Come to our festival.' And it created this opportunity that brought us here today again."
Pressed about whether they think they could come have come up with a new album's worth of material if they had wanted to, Wiley said: "I think to date we could not, and that's why we have not.
"We have a discussion. In our band, Philip [Rind], the bass player [and] singer, is a main creative driver. [He writes] one hundred percent of the lyrics and oftentimes fifty percent or more of the music.
"Whenever we wrote songs, if we wrote ten songs, we recorded ten songs. When we recorded 'Surf Nicaragua' [in 1988], we had two songs, so we covered BLACK SABBATH and tried to create more material. But whatever we have, we record, and we never spent a lot of time wondering how successful it would be. We just thought, 'We have songs. We should record.' So we've been very fortunate that some of that stuff connected. It was the right time, you know, and it created these opportunities to sit here and talk with you now. It's pretty amazing."
Added guitarist Jason Rainey: "Basically, it starts with Phil, and unless he's on board, it's not gonna happen. But, like he says, never say never. But at this point, we don't have any plans to record any new material."
SACRED REICH's last studio album, "Heal", came out in 1996.
The band's "Live At Wacken" DVD+CD package was released in North America in November 2012 through Metal Blade. The set contained professionally filmed and recorded footage of the group's August 4, 2007 performance at the Wacken Open Air festival in Wacken, Germany in front of 60,000 heavy metal fans.

KORN Performs New Song 'Rotting In Vain' At CHICAGO OPEN AIR (Video)KORN played a brand new song called "Rotting In Vain" live for the first time during their concert Saturday (July 16) at the Chicago Open Air festival at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Illinois. Fan-filmed video footage of the performance can be seen below.
An official stream of the studio version of "Rotting In Vain" will be released on July 22. The track will appear on KORN's upcoming twelfth album, which is tentatively due this fall. The CD will feature a guest appearance by SLIPKNOT frontman Corey Taylor. KORN guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer told Metal Hammer magazine: "We have Corey singing on one track and it's going to be a fan favorite because he really lets loose." The as-yet-untitled follow-up to 2013's "The Paradigm Shift" marks the second KORN album since the return of guitarist Brian "Head" Welch.
Shaffer added: "On a heaviness scale of one to 10, with 10 being the 1994 self-titled, this album is a definite nine. When Head came back to us on the last record, it was our way of getting the wheels greased. Now everything is well-oiled and the machine works really well."
Welch recently spoke in detail about the sound of the new album. "I want a record like every song is just like, live, live, moshpit, jumping up and down, and so this is a record to me that the intensity of KORN is back, and the live energy," he told The Pulse Of Radio. "Raw energy is there. And Jonathan [Davis, singer] is just grabbing his soul and tearing it open for people to see, and I think the fans are really gonna feel it."
KORN is co-headlining with ROB ZOMBIE on the "Return Of The Dreads" tour this summer, beginning on July 19 in Englewood, Colorado. That trek winds down on September 3 in Bristow, Virginia.
KORN will also hit the road this fall with co-headliners BREAKING BENJAMIN for the "Nocturnal Underground Tour", which will kick off on September 24 in Fargo, North Dakota and run through late October. 4

GUNS N' ROSES 'Detained' At Canadian Border For Gun PossessionAccording to Billboard.com, GUNS N' ROSES was detained at the Canadian border for having a gun.
The incident happened on Friday, July 15 as the musicians were crossing the border coming from the Philadelphia tour stop on July 14, a band representative confirmed. The gun did not belong to any member of the band.
GUNS N' ROSES singer Axl Rose spoke about the episode while performing to a sold-out crowd of 50,000 at Toronto's Rogers Centre Saturday night (July 16).
Prior to "Out Ta Get Me", he said (see video below): "You did what? What? 'Oh, yeah, we found a gun.' So we weren't exactly arrested, we were detained.
"[The customs officers] were very nice. They were very nice. They were very understanding. You know, it happens — you can forget you had a fuckin' gun. Wasn't my gun."
GUNS N' ROSES' "Not In This Lifetime" stadium tour features classic lineup members Rose, guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan backed by drummer Frank Ferrer, guitarist Richard Fortus, keyboardist Dizzy Reed and new second keyboardist Melissa Reese.
Drummer Steven Adler performed with GUNS N' ROSES aty two shows this month: July 6 in Cincinnati and July 9 in Nashville.

GILLAN: 'The Vinyl Collection 1979-1982' Due In SeptemberDemon Records has announced the release of a new must-have GILLAN vinyl boxset on September 2. "The Vinyl Collection 1979-1982" will feature five albums — seven LPs in total — including "Mr. Universe" (1979), "Glory Road" (1980; 2 LPs, with bonus disc "For Gillan Fans Only"), "Future Shock" (1981), "Double Trouble" (1981; 2 LPs) and "Magic" (1982).
Ian Gillan was delighted with the vintage feel of the finished product. He said: "It's a wonderful thing, vinyl… Best held in two hands and treated with respect, as you place it carefully upon the turntable. You just bought something significant, not easily disposable. And look at the sleeves," he commented, observing one of the records. "Aren't they cool? Read the lyrics and enjoy the artwork, while you are in the groove. No computers involved in the making of this music… Enjoy."
The 180-gram heavyweight vinyl records will all be exact replicas of their first pressings. "Future Shock", GILLAN's highest-scoring album, having reached No. 2 in the U.K. chart, will include the same 16-page booklet as featured in its original release. An exclusive edition available via Amazon will also contain a bonus seven-inch single for Spanish Guitar. Other Gillan classics featured in this priceless collection include "Sleeping On The Job", "No Easy Way", "Trouble", "Mutually Assured Destruction", "New Orleans", "No Laughing In Heaven", "Nightmare", "Restless" and "Living For The City".
GILLAN was born on the ashes of the IAN GILLAN BAND in 1978, when Ian decided to abandon the jazz-fusion style of his previous project in favou of a more progressive direction, together with keyboardist Colin Towns. The band was dissolved in 1982 following the "Magic" tour, partly due to Gillan's health issues with his vocal cords. Still, in its brief existence, they managed to release five Top 20 albums and ride the popularity of the NWOBHM sweeping the continent.
Ascended to rock royalty status as the lead singer of DEEP PURPLE, Gillan continued making an impact on the rock scene, and has become an erudite elder statesman of the genre. He sang in the role of Jesus in the original Andrew Lloyd's Webb's "Jesus Christ Superstar" and he co-wrote and sang the iconic "Smoke On The Water", among dozens of other hits. He has played to tens of millions of fans, and sold over one hundred million records. To this day he approaches writing, recording and touring with the zeal, passion and commitment of an 18-year-old. 1

GHOST's PAPA EMERITUS III Joins CANDLEMASS On Stage At Sweden's GEFLE METAL FESTIVAL; Video, PhotosGHOST frontman Papa Emeritus III joined fellow Swedes CANDLEMASS on stage earlier today (Saturday, July 16) at the Gefle Metal Festival in Gävle, Sweden to perform the CANDLEMASS classic "Well Of Souls". Video footage and photos of his appearance can be seen below.
Earlier this year, one of the Nameless Ghouls from GHOST told Weld that CANDLEMASS was an example of a Swedish band that spends an extraordinary amount of time coming up with music that is extremely dark yet very memorable and unique. He said: "[That's] very meticulous, very thought-out songwriting. Not just the sound; it was definitely very thought out.
"When you listen to a lot of American bands, be it punk rock or emo, as soon as they go into melody, their melodies just fall in a certain scale for some reason. When I hear Avril Lavigne, it's the same melodic language as many, many, many metal bands from the U.S., whereas in Northern Europe, especially Scandinavia — Sweden and Norway — we have a very old folk tradition which goes back hundred and hundreds and hundreds of years. It's very melancholy music. It's very sad. There's no blues in that at all. It's very sad, very sorrow-filled. It has more to do with classical music. Melancholic waves."
CANDLEMASS released a special 30th-anniversary EP titled "Death Thy Lover" on June 3 via Napalm. The four-track effort — which features Mats Levén on vocals — was recorded during September/October 2015 and was made available as a four-page digipack, one-LP gatefold edition and one-LP gatefold webstore edition and old-school "skull-and-cross" slipmat. The cover artwork for the EP was created by Erik Rovanperä.
GHOST's upcoming EP, which consists primarily of covers, was helmed by English producer Tom Dalgety, who has previously worked with ROYAL BLOOD and KILLING JOKE, among others. More details about the effort will be made available soon.

Watch GODSMACK's SULLY ERNA Perform With His Father In Uncasville, ConnecticutSully Erna was joined on stage by his father during the GODSMACK frontman's solo concert last night (Saturday, July 16) in Uncasville, Connecticut.
"It is my great pleasure to introduce to you my 73-year-old dad, Mr. Sal Erna, on the trumpet," Sully told the crowd before his father came up on stage and performed with the singer at the Mohegan Sun Arena.
In a 2000 interview with Rolling Stone, Erna spoke about how he first became interested in music. He said: "I started playing when I was three and a half. My dad's a professional trumpet player — he's had a bunch of jazz bands. And I kind of grew up under the piano, listening to them rehearse in the basement. And I just always knew. I mean, I quit school for it. I lost relationships over it. I sacrificed having an apartment and nice cars when all my friends were graduating high school and getting all this stuff, and I was still looking like the loser, schlepping off my parents. It's in my blood, and I just could never let it go."
Sully Erna has set "Hometown Life" as the title of his second solo album. Although a firm release date has yet to be finalized, the disc will arrive sometime later this year. Erna has also unveiled the cover art and track list for the 10-song collection, which will follow up his 2010 solo debut, "Avalon".
"Avalon" featured a very different style than what Erna does with GODSMACK, incorporating world music, female vocals, keyboards, cello, hand percussion and other sounds.
GODSMACK guitarist Tony Rombola and drummer Shannon Larkin have also launched an extracurricular project called THE APOCALYPSE BLUES REVUE. Their self-titled debut disc is due out on August 26.
GODSMACK's sixth studio album, "1000hp", was released in August 2014.

Watch KISS's GENE SIMMONS Fall On Stage During Bozeman, Montana ConcertKISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons fell on stage while performing with the band last night (Saturday, July 16) at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse in Bozeman, Montana.
The incident happened during the closing song of KISS's set, "Rock And Roll All Nite", which featured cannons shooting a blizzard of confetti into the air.
A couple of fan-filmed clips can be seen below.
Back in 2014, a security guard sued KISS and Live Nation for injuries after he claimed that the band "foolishly" sprayed water and confetti on the stage during a 2012 tour stop.
The guard said he was working security during KISS's concert at the Klipsch Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana when "some of the defendants" sprayed water from hoses onto the stage and into the audience, and sprayed the crowd with confetti "in a foolish and reckless manner." He claimed he was injured after falling on the "slippery, waxy and glassy" stage.
KISS kicked off its "Freedom To Rock" tour on July 4 with in Tucson, Arizona. The trek will hit 40 cities through the summer — many of them places that the band has either never played or hasn't played in years. 5

Video: METAL CHURCH Performs At DYNAMO METALFESTFan-filmed video footage of METAL CHURCH's July 16 performance at the Dynamo Metalfest in Eindhoven, The Netherlands can be seen below.
METAL CHURCH's new album, "XI", debuted at No. 57 on The Billboard 200, having shifted 11,000 equivalent album units in the week ending March 31.
"XI", was released on March 25 via Rat Pak Records. Produced by Kurdt Vanderhoof and co-produced by Chris "The Wizard" Collier, the band's eleventh studio release also marks the return of legendary vocalist and frontman Mike Howe.
The reunion between Mike and METAL CHURCH was put in motion in July of 2014 when Mike started working with Kurdt Vanderhoof on a side project he was forming with Nigel Glockler from SAXON. Through these initial conversations, Kurdt convinced Mike to ultimately return to METAL CHURCH. The idea was to see if they could recapture some of the magic from the three albums METAL CHURCH released in the late '80s: "The Human Factor", "Blessing In Disguise" and "Hanging In The Balance". Out of those sessions, "XI" was born and captures the sound that made the band fan-favorites in the '80's and mixes it with a new, invigorated sound for 2016. Said Mike: "Kurdt Vanderhoof got ahold of me in August of 2014, and he proposed [me] coming back to the band. He said Ronny [Munroe] left the band and he didn't really wanna carry on with METAL CHURCH unless maybe I would consider coming back. So I said, 'Well, I don't know. I'm open to it. But let's see what kind of music we can come up with.' So Kurdt went back to the studio and started writing songs in the vein of 'Hanging In The Balance', where we left off twenty years ago, and he sent them to me over the Internet. And I was, like, 'Damn! The guy still has it and he's doing great work.' So he sent me another batch, and that batch was just as good [as], if not better than, the other. So, from there, I said, ‘Well, I can’t say no to this. And let's just see how it goes.' And we started writing lyrics and getting together, and it's morphed into being back in Aberdeen in the studio making the new METAL CHURCH record." 2

Video: PROPHETS OF RAGE Plays Free Rooftop Show On Skid Row In Los AngelesPROPHETS OF RAGE, the supergroup featuring members of RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, PUBLIC ENEMY's Chuck D and CYPRESS HILL's B-Real, played a free show Friday (July 15) on a rooftop in the area of downtown Los Angeles known as Skid Row.
Skid Row is a roughly 50-square-block area that is home to several thousand people either living on the streets or in one of many shelters and transitional supportive housing complexes.
Video footage of the performance can be seen below.
PROPHETS OF RAGE guitarist Tom Morello told Noisey last month that the band would play a warmup gig on Skid Row prior to embarking on a North American tour in August.
PROPHETS OF RAGE recently entered the studio to record a brand new song called "The Party's Over", which the band premiered at its recent live shows. Helming the sessions is veteran producer Brendan O'Brien, who has previously worked with RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, PEARL JAM, AC/DC and STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, among others.
Morello told Billboard.com that the members of PROPHETS OF RAGE have set a very high bar for the material that they want to release. "The goal is a simple one: The music has to be devastating," he explained. "In all these interviews, we talk a lot about the politics, but the cornerstone is that the music has to be devastating and we have to not just be competitive with our legacies, but in 2016, it has to be something that goes beyond that and is very authentic, unapologetic and contemporary."
The guitarist added that PROPHETS OF RAGE is still finding its direction.
"When we got in the room, it was like, 'Well, hold on, we're getting ahead of ourselves. We have to figure out what this band's chemistry is to be great. How do we win with this team on the field?'" he said. "And that took awhile to figure out. I would say that it really came together a couple days before the Whisky show [May 31], where it was like, 'Oh, shit, that's what PROPHETS OF RAGE is going to sound like!' And it's still a process. I always look at it like it's never done and will continue to be refined as we go along."
PROPHETS OF RAGE made their live debut in May in Los Angeles, playing numbers from all three acts.

MEGADETH Cancels Remaining Shows On European Tour After DAVID ELLEFSON's 'Severe' Foot BreakMEGADETH has canceled the remaining two shows on its European tour after David Ellefson fractured his foot before a scheduled concert in Hungary.
MEGADETH was slated to play the Harley Days festival in Slovakia Saturday night and the Masters Of Rock festival in the Czech Republic on Sunday, July 17. Both of those shows have now been called off, with MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine explaining in a video message (see below): "Our bass player's received a severe break to his foot. I'm very, very sorry to tell you this. But we will make it up to you next summer. Please hang in there and stay metal."
Ellefson apparently suffered his injury while walking around the backstage area before MEGADETH's scheduled appearance Friday (July 15) at the Rockmaraton festival in Dunaújváros, Hungary. The event organizers immediately called an ambulance and Ellefson was transported to the Saint Pantaleon hospital in Dunaújváros, where his foot was placed in a cast. According to the organizers, Ellefson was in a good mood despite his injury and was taking selfies with the paramedics on his way back to the venue, still apparently believing that he would be able to play the show. Mustaine also seemed sure that the gig would happen, but apparently changed his mind shortly before MEGADETH was due to kick off the concert. The MEGADETH leader eventually went up on stage and announced the band's cancelation to disappointed fans.
"I've got some bad news I have to tell you," Mustaine told the crowd (see video below). "David Ellefson has fallen and has injured himself. He had to go to the hospital and he's unable to play. So we're gonna try and figure out when we can reschedule and come back for you guys. It's with really heavy hearts that we have to do this, but he can't play; he's unable to do this. Hold on to your tickets. We're gonna be back and we're gonna make it up to you guys. You guys know David Ellefson. He would do it if he can. We love you very, very much."
It is not presently clear if Ellefson's injury will affect MEGADETH's South American tour, which is scheduled to kick off on July 30 in Quito, Ecuador.
In addition to Mustaine and Ellefson, MEGADETH's current lineup includes Brazilian guitarist Kiko Loureiro, best known for his work with ANGRA, and former SOILWORK drummer Dirk Verbeuren. 9
