Should Musicians Be Able To Remotely Disable Phone Cameras At Concerts? GENE SIMMONS Weighs InOn July 1, KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons was interviewed by Jack Antonio for the "Do You Know Jack?" radio show. You can now listen to the chat using the Spreaker widget below.
Asked what he thinks about the recent news reports that Apple is working on a technology that could potentially allow music venues to disable a smartphone's camera, making it impossible for fans to tape concerts on mobile phones, Gene said: "When we first started out, this was before cellphones or technology and even voice mail. There was no cable, there was no nothing, so at the concerts, they took away your cameras — they didn't allow you to do that. So, in a lot of ways, the concert experience, especially with KISS, was real — it was emotional, it was deep. You know, people would pass out and cry; it was very emotional. And it's become… Technology, of course, has made everything less emotional. You know, when you get back home and look at your cellphone and the video there, and you go, 'Oh, I don't remember that from the concert!' Well, of course you don't, 'cause you were too busy texting or looking at your cellphone. But do I think they should have the technology to shut off your stuff? Well, maybe with your 'okay.' You know, at least beforehand, they say, 'Okay, you're about to enter a no-cellphone area' and stuff, that's fine. As long as you know, going in."
According to reports, Apple's technology would use infrared signals to send encoded data to cell phones to disable the camera function. The phone would detect the signal and either alter what's shown on the screen or shut down its video features completely.
A number of hard rock and heavy metal musicians have been asking fans to shut off their phones at live shows for years.
NILE mainman Karl Sanders in 2014 slammed fans who insist on shooting photos and video at the band's concerts, saying that they are not "involved in the show" and are cheating other people out of a place where they could be enjoying the music.
Former SKID ROW singer Sebastian Bach said in 2015 that live performers should be given the same respect as films in movie theaters, which have a long-standing policy requiring audiences to silence their phones and putting away any recording devices during showings. The singer explained: "You can't go to a movie and have your cellphone on, but when you have actual live human beings, it's fucking okay? That's fucking bullshit! It's not appropriate in our society to stand up in a theater and film the fucking movie, but it's totally acceptable to do that at a concert? I've done four fucking Broadway shows and you can't pull out your fucking cellphone or you'll get kicked out! Do you know why? Because it's distracting. It's just not the way to watch and enjoy a show."
Bach went on to say: "I've toured with the best of the best. I've filmed shit on my cellphone from the side of the stage watching Axl [Rose] and everybody. Guess how many times I've watched that shit? Zero. I look at it and go, 'That sucks! Delete.' It sounds like shit and it looks like shit. I think it takes the mystery out of rock and roll." 25

TOM KEIFER Would Be 'Very Humbled And Honored' If Asked To Front AC/DCCINDERELLA singer Tom Keifer says that he would have been "very humbled and honored" if he had been asked to step in for Brian Johnson on the remaining dates on AC/DC's tour.
AC/DC postponed the last ten shows of its recent North American trek after doctors told Johnson he faced a total loss of hearing if he did not stop touring immediately. AC/DC has since resumed its tour with GUNS N' ROSES frontman Axl Rose as a "guest vocalist," with Johnson apparently not returning to the group.
In a brand new interview with Zoiks! Online, Keifer was asked what his response would have been if he had been approached to sing for AC/DC as the replacement for Johnson. He responded (hear audio below): "I've seen my name brought up online, and I just wanna say — I guess this is the first time I'm publicly saying this — if I were asked, I'd be very humbled and honored, but I would not leave my [solo] band. I love my band, and we're having a good time out here. This is my home."
He continued: "I made a joke the other day. 'Cause someone asked me [about the AC/DC gig], and I said, 'Not for all the money in the bank of Australia am I leaving my band.' So that said, let's get that out of the way, first of all. But if I wasn't in the band, or in this situation right now, I don't think I'd wanna step in those shoes. I think Brian is an amazing singer. That's AC/DC. He's so iconic."
Keifer added: "In my opinion… I don't know what the story is with Brian; I don't know all the facts — if it's just temporary or whether he's coming back or returning; I've heard a lot of different things, so it's hard for me to comment on this. But I just don't know that anyone can fill those shoes. Or if it's somebody who's known, it's kind of weird — then it's not AC/DC. It was so cool when they found Brian [after the death of Bon Scott], because he wasn't really known. And then he became known and then he became the voice of AC/DC. They're one of the few bands who have been able to pull that [kind of singer change] off. I don't wanna even touch those shoes."
Johnson said in an open letter to fans that he intends to solve his hearing problem and continue recording and touring, although he did not say whether he would be rejoining AC/DC.
The vocalist wrote: "My entire focus is to continue medical treatment to improve my hearing. I am hoping that in time my hearing will improve and allow me to return to live concert performances. While the outcome is uncertain, my attitude is optimistic."
Johnson had been AC/DC's frontman for 36 years, making his debut on the classic "Back In Black" album.

GENE SIMMONS Praises AXL ROSE-AC/DC Pairing: 'I Think It's Great'Gene Simmons says that the pairing of GUNS N' ROSES singer and AC/DC is the "best thing that can happen to both bands."
The legendary Australian hard rock outfit recruited Rose for more than twenty shows after singer Brian Johnson had to abruptly come off the road or face total hearing loss.
During an interview with the Montana radio station 105.7 The Eagle, the KISS bassist/vocalist gave his opinion on AC/DC's decision to hire Rose. He said (hear audio below): "I think it's great. I think Axl being with AC/DC — best thing that can happen to both bands. I don't know how long it's gonna last, but I hear the shows have been great, and I hear both Axl and AC/DC have been getting along fairly decently. In fact, KISS took out AC/DC on their first tour. The bands we've given first tour have included AC/DC, RUSH, CHEAP TRICK, MÖTLEY CRÜE, BON JOVI, JUDAS PRIEST, IRON MAIDEN… I mean, the list is long."
AC/DC bassist Cliff Williams recently revealed that he will retire from recording and touring after finishing out the band's current world trek. Williams's decision follows a string of personnel changes for the group that started with co-founding guitarist Malcolm Young's departure in 2014 after he was diagnosed with dementia. Last year, drummer Phil Rudd was sentenced to house arrest after he was found guilty on a drug charge.
Assuming neither Rudd nor Johnson return, Williams's exit means that only Angus Young remains from the lineups that recorded classic albums like 1979's "Highway To Hell", 1980's "Back In Black" and 1981's "For Those About To Rock...We Salute You".
The rescheduled dates of AC/DC's North American tour — which will be the band's first concerts here with Rose on lead vocals — will kick off in Greensboro, North Carolina on August 27. Angus Young has not indicated yet what the group's plans are following the completion of the touring cycle for the band's latest album, "Rock Or Bust". 4

LADY BEAST To Release Metal Immortal Vinyl EP In OctoberLady Beast is a heavy metal band from Pittsburgh, PA. Now in its 7th year, the band has played hundreds of shows, played festivals, done tours, and sold thousands of albums. Upon hearing a recording of the band, it’s easy for the listener to pick out the band’s musical influences such as NWOBHM, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Motörhead, Dio, etc., but that isn’t the only influence, as the band draws heavily on the DIY ethos of the punk scene, and Lady Beast has always done everything on its own: booking tours, doing band photos, printing t-shirts, setting up shows at home, writing songs, putting out albums (released on bassist Greg Colaizzi’s label, Cobra Cabana Records), and driving the van. Anyone that has seen the band live can attest to the band’s energy, and singer Deborah Levine’s vocal ability, charisma, and love for what she is doing.
Lady Beast is getting ready to release a new EP titled Metal Immortal with four new metal songs in the style that the band is known for. The EP, which will be available as a vinyl and download release, is also a debut for the band’s new lead guitarist, Andy Ramage. Andy is a familiar face, as he is the older brother of drummer Adam Ramage, and the two also played together in Oh Shit They’re Going To Kill Us. Andy’s style fits perfectly with the songs that rhythm guitarist Christopher "Twiz" Tritschler has been writing for the band. In addition to the EP, Twiz and Andy are writing songs for a full length, hopefully to be recorded next year. October is looking to be a busy month for Lady Beast. The band plans on releasing the EP and doing a tour with Seax.

Prog Duo MIDDLESONG Release Directions EP Featuring YES Legend BILLY SHERWOODProg duo Middlesong has released a new three-song EP titled Directions, featuring YES legend Billy Sherwood (pictured above). With Joe Schneider (vocals, guitar, keyboards) and Phil Tomczak (keyboards, guitars), Middlesong has heavy prog and classic rock influence, along with hints of folk, pop and americana. Middlesong's eclectic sources produce a universal sound that musicians and non-musicians will appreciate.
The three new tracks (“Directions In D Minor (Make Sure That You Learn)”, “See This Through”, “Rain To Sun”) were started at Middlesong Studios in Hamburg NY, followed by mixing and production by Billy Sherwood at his studio in California. Billy, who plays bass, drums, keyboards, guitar on the tracks, is a renowned producer, musician and performer, and is currently the bass player for the progressive rock band YES. Billy has worked as producer and engineer for countless artists in the rock and progressive rock genres. His musicianship and talent is respected world-wide.
“It was great fun working on the music with the guys, I'm very proud to have been a part of it all and very much looking forward to having it now get out there for everyone to hear and enjoy.”- Billy Sherwood
Says Phil and Joe, “We both love to write music. We were surprised and very pleased by the way the songs evolved. Never having worked together previously as songwriters, we soon found that the music seemed to write itself, and took off into directions all their own (which led us to the title for the EP). Nothing was off the table. We allowed all of our influences to enter into the songwriting process. Billy Sherwood was then able to polish and bring the songs to life while preserving our original tunes.”
For all three songs in the EP, Joe and Phil wanted to write songs with a solid musical structure, but take some chances along the way. Most of their songwriting begins with a nylon and steel string guitar, developing a musical theme, and taking shape from there (the “Middlesong Method”).
“In particular, with 'Directions in D Minor (Make Sure That You Learn)', we explored the key of D minor, while providing the listeners with different styles within the same song – a classic prog offering. Each section of the song represents a stage of one’s life; chasing the musical dream; wrestling with the muse.
“With “See This Through”, our intent was to write a song that everybody could relate to, tapping their foot along the way. A fun part of the song for us was setting the scene for an old Western saloon in the bridge and lead section – providing a change from the main structure of the song, and a bit of an unexpected adventure. The theme of the song itself is one of perseverance, and speaks to both the whole of humanity, as well as to the individual.”
“Rain To Sun” is a great example of the “Middlesong Method”. The song came together quickly, with an instrumental lead melody written by Joe, and an initial arrangement of strings and choir voices written by Phil. In this song (as well as in “Direction In D Minor”), they left plenty of room for producer and performer Billy Sherwood. “In “Rain To Sun”, we were thrilled by his meandering bass line that complimented the dual guitar tracks. Billy precisely interpreted and felt the pulse of all of our songs with his bass and percussion.”
Joe Schneider and Phil Tomczak formed Middlesong in 2015. It didn't take long to realize the synergy and soul of their collaborative songwriting! Joe is a veteran of the performance stage. Augmented by his guitar playing, Joe's vocals soar with clarity, smoothness of texture, and deep feeling. Joe finds inspiration from singer-songwriters such as Lennon-McCartney, Tom Petty and Billy Joel. He has great, natural instincts for melody and harmony, and a gift for writing lyrics that touch our souls in just the right place. Phil's love for music stems from the piano, influenced by the likes of Rick Wakeman and Keith Emerson. His versatility extends to the guitar, which plays a significant role in Middlesong's songwriting and distinctive sound. Phil's musicianship evokes imagery and will carry you along on the clear road ahead, or sweep you off into a surprising new direction.
As well as Billy Sherwood, Middlesong has worked with renowned mastering engineer Maor Appelbaum. The duo are currently in the studio writing and arranging the remaining tracks to fill out the complete, debut album to be released sometime in 2017.
In closing Phil and Joe have this to impart, “We appreciate your listening and at the purest level, we hope you enjoy our music!”

SIXTY MILES AHEAD Sign With Eclipse Records; Streaming New Track “Insanity”Eclipse Records has announced the signing of Sixty Miles Ahead to an exclusive, worldwide deal. Sixty Miles Ahead are a hard rock band hailing from the suburbs of Milan, Italy. Formed in 2011, the quartet has proven to be one of the most interesting outfits in their country, thanks to their impactful, captivating sound. The band is preparing their new album Insanity; listen to the track “Used To Believe” below.
In 2012, the band released their debut full-length album Millions Of Burning Flames via German label, Antstreet Records. “The Price Is Wrong”:
“Periphery III: Select Difficulty is finally complete and we’re extremely excited to show everyone,” said guitar player Jake Bowen. “For the past couple of years we’ve been refining our collaborative process as a band and we feel that it’s only getting better with the completion of this album. We spent two months writing songs that are not only representative of the Periphery sound but also reflect where all of us are as musicians, working together has helped us tread new ground musically and creatively. In support of Periphery III you’ll see us hit the road in the States this summer with SikTh, Chon, and Toothgrinder on the Sonic Unrest tour, it’s going to be a blast! See you on the road!”
Periphery’s own Adam “Nolly” Getgood oversaw production for the album as he did with the Juggernaut releases. Nolly will no longer be a touring member of Periphery, as he will be expanding his production work in his native UK. He remains an integral part, and a member, of Periphery. At this time no decision has been made about a touring bassist.
“Touring with Periphery has shown me some of the most incredible experiences I could ever have imagined, to meet amazing people all over the world and to create friendships for life; it has truly been an honour to perform in front of every audience who has watched us play over the years. However the touring life isn’t something that everyone can continue doing indefinitely, and for me, the time has come where I want to settle into a more normal existence, be able to make plans further into the future than the touring life enables, and to be able to focus more on the studio side of my music career,” explained Nolly. “I will, however, be remaining as a band member and contributing in any way that I can while the band is off the road; I love all of my fellow bandmates like brothers and I’m so grateful for the incredible support they’ve shown as I make this huge life change. I know they are going to be taking the music and performances to the next level when they hit the road later this year.”
The Sonic Unrest tour, a month-long outing, sponsored by D’Addario and Guitar Center, includes openers SikTh, Chon and Toothgrinder and kicks off on August 4th in Raleigh, NC. Tickets are on-sale this Friday at 10 AM, local time. HEAVEN SHALL BURN - Wanderer Album Details Revealed; “Downshifter” Semi-Static Video Streaming“He seeks distance to change his perspective
In freedom and seclusion he arranges his thoughts
Strength and power he regains in nature’s shielding bosom
In vivid silence and familiar remoteness he can listen to his heart
Yet he experienced that from no wayfare you return the same
He knows that nothing will change until you change yourself
And therefore every revolutionary is a wanderer.”
Heaven Shall Burn open the visually stunning booklet for their eighth studio album, Wanderer, with a quote which sums up the overall idea of the album: During confusing and troubled times you occasionally need to retreat from all the madness that surrounds you. This allows you to gain new perspective, energy and focus, so that you can attack change with a refreshed and strengthened mindset. Modern life has become so complex that sometimes choosing simplicity and solitude can give you the strength to conquer the chaos around and within you.
Wanderer isn’t merely offering interesting historical and political stories, but also serves as a travelogue of a journey into one’s inner self. A search for a safe haven for our daily stress as well as an outlet for negative feelings and aggression. For its breathtaking artwork, Heaven Shall Burn sent their friend and photographer Christian Thiele on a quest and asked him to capture the beauty of mountains, plains and shorelines.
Once again the album was produced by guitarist Alexander Dietz and co-produced by guitarist Maik Weichert. While the drums were tracked by Eike Freese at Chameleon Studios in Hamburg, the rest of the album was recorded at Dietz’s own Chemical Burn Studios in Bad Kösen. Tue Madsen mixed and mastered Wanderer at Chemical Burn Studios as well as at his Antfarm Studios in Aarhus, Denmark.

TRUE WIDOW Reveal Avvolgere Album Details; “Entheogen” Track StreamingDallas trio True Widow have announced their fourth album, Avvolgere, due out this September 23rd on CD/2xLP/DLX 2xLP/Digital via Relapse Records. Pre-order the album at this location.
The forthcoming LP perfects the formula that 2013's Circumambulation established: Avvolgere rocks and rolls with serene, rounded climaxes and steep, jangling choruses that engulf the listener with waves of downbeat, saccharine melodies and mesmerizing distortion. True Widow's signature alternation between male and female vocals helps further blur the boundaries between the heft of stoner rock, the droning atmosphere of shoegaze, and the twangy catchiness of blues and indie rock. It's both concise and circuitous - the album takes you on a journey that you can't ever quite predict or expect. Avvolgere is True Widow sounding more infectious and consummate than ever before.
The first single from the album, “Entheogen”, is streaming below and is available as an instant download with digital pre-orders (at above link).
The band recorded Avvolgere with Matt Pence, who recorded their 2013 release, Circumambulation, at his Echo Lab studio in Argyle, Tex. earlier this year.

EDENSONG Sign With Laser’s Edge For Release Of New AlbumLaser's Edge has officially welcomed New York City-based progressive rock quintet Edensong to the label's roster for the release of their impending second full-length album, Years In The Garden Of Years.
Years In The Garden Of Years is a concept album where Edensong further explores the intricately composed eclectic orchestral rock style of their debut, and infuses it with the energy and sheer power of the music of their roots in Echoes Of Eden. Whereas The Fruit Fallen was the creative voice of singer/guitarist James Byron Schoen, Years In The Garden Of Years was composed more collaboratively by the full band, and the diverse musical contributions and influences can be heard across the record, from metal to symphonic, atonal to melodic, acoustic to electronic, meticulously structured to fully improvised.
Issues Schoen of the signing, "Edensong is psyched to be a new addition to the Laser's Edge lineup. So many of my favorite prog bands in recent years have deep ties to this label, and Laser's Edge has been supportive of our music since we released the Fruit Fallen back in '08. I think it will be a great collaboration."
Years In The Garden Of Years is to be released on September 30th through Laser's Edge, Edensong's first title for the progressive music powerhouse. Stand by for further details on the album and audio samples to be released in the weeks ahead.
Edensong has recently made a return to live performances and plan to play extensively in support of the Years In The Garden Of Years.

JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE Signs With FRONTIERS MUSICFrontiers Music Srl has announced the signing of JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE.
JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE features ex-GREAT WHITE singer Jack Russell alongside former GREAT WHITE bassist-turned-guitarist Tony Montana (as a guitar player and keyboardist), Dan McNay (MONTROSE) on bass, Robby Lochner (FIGHT) on guitar and Dicki Fliszar (BRUCE DICKINSON) on drums.
JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE's debut album, tentatively titled "The Gauntlet", is due in early 2017.
Said Jack in a statement: "I want to say how happy and excited I am about my band. I have so much respect for Serafino, Mario, Derek and their team and am so thankful to be working with them. The band and I are off the hook about the new material. You are going to love it!"
In 2014, JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE gave fans a taste of new music with the release of the single "Hard Habit" which received rave reviews from fans clamoring for the "classic" early sound of GREAT WHITE.
Jack Russell told the "One On One With Mitch Lafon" podcast about whether "The Gauntlet" is a band effort or more of a "solo" album: "It's a band album, absolutely. Me and my guitarist have done most of the writing. It's definitely a band record. I wanted it have that sound. I didn't want it to be a mixed bag of tunes. I wanted it to have a cohesiveness."
Asked if "The Gauntlet" is a return to the classic GREAT WHITE sound of the '80s or if it features a more modern approach, Jack said: "You know, I think it's a little bit of both, really. To me, the stuff sounds heavier in some regards and more whimsical. It's a really powerful record. I mean, I've just dumped every emotion I have into it, and I went pretty deep on a lot of stuff. There's some dark stuff on there, but there's some dark realities. But it's also a fun record too; it's not like it's all, 'Here's a big ball of negativity.' I don't wanna go down that route. But it's just an honest record, and I try to do that; I try to keep my records honest."
Regarding why it's important for him to make new music and release "The Gauntlet" at a time when record sales are a fraction of what they used to be, Jack said: "Well, I mean, there's always new music in me. If you don't release it, the thing is just gonna fester in there. I mean, for me, being a musician is about being creative and making new music and continuing to strive for something more. It's, like, you could be an artist and you just have a gallery with a bunch of paintings in them, but one of these days, those paintings will either be all sold or people are gonna get tired of coming in and looking at 'em. I wanna keep releasing songs and music, because that's what I do. You never know what's gonna happen in this business, the way the record sales are these days, or aren't these days. But, you know, there's always a shot; you never know. And the thing is, if you don't take the shot, you'll never hit the target. So I never discount anything; I always think anything is possible. And, for me, the shows we're doing… We're doing good-sized shows; I mean, it's not just all bars. We do a lot of bigger shows, and when we do, we tear 'em up. This band is smoking. I've never played with more gifted musicians and just full of energy and life and fun. And there's no baggage and there's no secrets and hatreds and all this other stuff. It's great to not be in that situation, where there's a lot of negativity from years of stuff not being said."
JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE is not to be confused with the current touring and recording version of GREAT WHITE, which features Mark Kendall, Scott Snyder (bass), Audie Desbrow (drums), Michael Lardie (guitar, keyboards) and Terry Ilous (lead vocals).

REVOCATION: Entire 'Great Is Our Sin' Album Available For Streaming"Great Is Our Sin", the new album from the Boston, Massachusetts-based technical metal act REVOCATION, can be streamed in its entirety using the SoundCloud widget below. The CD will be released on July 22 via Metal Blade.
Having delivered five killer albums boasting some of the most potent, technical and abrasive metal unleashed over the last decade, it would be easy for REVOCATION to sit back and rest upon their laurels. However, with their constant drive to push their sound ever forward and refusal to compromise their integrity, this could never be the case — and "Great Is Our Sin" is their most dynamic, boundary-pushing and weighty release to date. When it came time for the follow up to 2014's "Deathless", the quartet had their work cut out for them, and their response to the challenge is a record that grabs you by the throat and refuses to let go. Never forcing anything, the songs that would comprise "Great Is Our Sin" came together organically, and while the members being spread all around North America would have been an impediment to some, REVOCATION drew strength from it. Reuniting with producer Chris "Zeuss" Harris (HATEBREED, SHADOWS FALL), who also helmed "Deathless" and 2012's "Teratogenesis" EP, the record packs the requisite punch, yet retains the organic feel with which it was conceived. Known for their technical prowess, the band remained dedicated to upping the ante without ever losing sight of the importance of good songwriting. While the songs come together to make for a cohesive record that is engaging from front to back, they are further united by the lyrical concept penned by Davidson. The title itself appropriated from Charles Darwin's quote: "If the misery of the poor be caused not by the laws of nature, but by our institutions, great is our sin", Davidson went about building a theme that was not only fittingly expansive, but also had real resonance with regard to contemporary society. "The concept revolves around the folly of man throughout the ages," he said. "Some themes come from historical references that are hundreds of years old, yet sadly these themes are still very relevant today due to mankind's refusal to learn from the lessons history has taught us, time and time again." Regardless of the state of the world, nothing is going to slow REVOCATION down any time soon. Whilst the lineup has changed over the ten years the band has been in existence, Davidson's passion has never waned, and they are arguably sounding better than ever as they look toward the future. "We can't wait to bring these songs out on the road and perform them for different audiences all over the world," he said. "'Great Is Our Sin' is a new chapter for the band, and collectively we feel that it is our defining record to date." In support of "Great Is Our Sin", REVOCATION will hitt the road this summer as part of "The Summer Slaughter Tour" alongside CANNIBAL CORPSE, NILE, AFTER THE BURIAL, SUFFOCATION, CARNIFEX, KRISIUN, SLAUGHTER TO PREVAIL and INGESTED. The tour kicks July 23 in Orlando, Florida and runs through August 21 in Atlanta, Georgia.

IRON MAIDEN's STEVE HARRIS Drops Yet Another Million From Asking Price Of English Country HouseAccording to Billionaire.com, IRON MAIDEN bassist Steve Harris has dropped another million pounds from the asking price of his eight-bedroom mansion in Essex.
Harris put his English country house on the market in 2012 for £6.75 million (approximately $8.85 million), but that price came down in 2013 by £0.9 million to £5.85 million (approximately $7.67 million) and in 2015 by another £0.9 million to £4.95 million (approximately $6.49 million).
After floating on the market for almost four years, the nine-acre property now sits at an even lower guide price of £3.95 million (approximately $5.81 million).
Check out photos of the home at Hamptons.co.uk
A description of the property reads as follows: "Approached via a pretty country lane and private gated entrance into a sweeping gravel driveway with large parking area, Sheering Hall is an historic substantial medieval country house of some 11,000 square feet full of character and period features throughout. It is grade II listed and there has been a house on the site since the Domesday Book and parts of the house date back to 1427. The property offers a fantastic variety of facilities for entertaining on a grand scale.
"Surrounding the entrance hall with its exposed beams and open fireplace are the three main reception rooms. The sitting room and drawing room both have fine detail and character with floor to ceiling oak panelled walls and high ceilings with guilded ornate cornicing. The drawing room boasts a grand wooden carved fireplace with wood burner. The kitchen benefits from a four-oven aga and raised breakfast area and from the kitchen there is access to the playroom, boot room and utility area.

BLAZE BAYLEY, THOMAS ZWIJSEN & ANNE BAKKER Cover IRON MAIDEN’s “Judgement Of Heaven”; VideoIn the new video below, Blaze Bayley, Thomas Zwijsen and Anne Bakker perform an acoustic version of Iron Maiden’s X Factor album track, “Judgement Of Heaven”. This version of “Judgement Of Heaven” is on the new Nylon Maiden double CD, available at ThomasZwijsen.com and iTunes.
Nylon Maiden’s Preserved In Time is Zwijsen’s ultimate Iron Maiden tribute album. It makes the classical guitar world a bit more metal by adding 16 Iron Maiden songs (and two Bruce Dickinson songs) to its repertoire.
Zwijsen’s long-time collaborator Blaze Bayley is one of the returning guest musicians on this album, performing two tracks from his Iron Maiden days, as well as a unique version of “Blood Brothers” off the Brave New World album! This is the first time Blaze performs an Iron Maiden song from the post-Blaze era. It gives Iron Maiden fans an idea of what it would have sounded like if Blaze had stayed with the band.
Tracklisting:

“Judgement Of Heaven” (with Blaze Bayley & Anne Bakker)
“Ghost Of The Navigator”

Zwijsen comments: “In our attempt to choose the best tracklisting for the most fulfilling, surprising and complete Iron Maiden tribute album, we simply couldn't fit all the songs on a single CD, so we decided to make it a double CD this time. Many of the songs were requests from people on YouTube. If this were to be the setlist at an Iron Maiden concert, I’d be very happy!”

KING COMPANY Premier “Shining” Music VideoHelsinki, Finland-based melodic hard rock band, King Company, will released their debut album, One For The Road, on August 26th. A new video for the album track “Shining” can be seen below,
Formed in the spring of 2014 under the name No Man’s Land, King Company is a band featuring cream of the crop Finnish hard rock scene members. Drummer Mirka "Leka" Rantanen (Raskasta Joulua, Warmen, Thunderstone, Kotipelto) had been thinking about forming a new hard rock/melodic metal band for a long time. He wanted to play with people with whom he had worked before and who he knew both as good musicians and as friends. First, he contacted guitarist Antti Wirman (Warmen) who immediately joined the band. Singer Pasi Rantanen was in Mirka's mind from the beginning, as they had played together in a couple of bands before (Thunderstone, Warmen). After keyboardist Jari Pailamo (Kiuas, Ponies To Kill) and bassist Time Schleifer (Enfarce) joined the band, this super group of sorts was finally ready to start working.
King Company’s debut album, One For The Road, is a trip back in time to the melodic hard rock world of the golden 80’s and 90’s. The band’s biggest influences come from legendary bands such as Deep Purple, Rainbow and Whitesnake, but also from other great acts like Europe, Mr Big, Lynch Mob, and Dokken. All this, but with a contemporary twist! Singer Pasi Rantanen has taken his biggest influences from the great David Coverdale and you can definitely hear it. King Company salutes all these great bands and fans of this genre with their debut album and they are hoping to reach people who are new to this kind of music too.
The album’s title track, ”One For The Road” says it all. “Some of us got in this ride back in the 80’s and we are still on that same road,” tells Mirka Rantanen. “It was 1985 we were young and wild and free, We dreamed of playing rock'n roll, and sitting in a black limousine...we still believe!”
Mirka continues: “Our debut album One For The Road should have been done years ago, but there was’t simply time to form King Company. We all had our own projects and we were too busy in our personal lives. Many of us have played in power metal and extreme metal bands, but something has always been missing. We wanted to write an album full of songs that we have always wanted to play. And we did. Most of the songs have been written together around Antti Wirman’s guitar riffs, but there are some older song from Pasi Rantanen that we re-arranged to a more modern form. The greatest ballad on the album is called “Cast Away” and it’s written by the keyboardist Jari Pailamo. Most of the lyrics are written by Mirka and Pasi.”
One For The Road tracklisting:
“One For The Road”
“Shining”
“In Wheels Of No Return”
“Coming Back To Life”
“No Man's Land”
“Farewell”
“Wings Of Love”
“Cast Away”

IMPERIAL STATE ELECTRIC - New Album All Through The Night Due In SeptemberThis fall Imperial State Electric are back with their new album, All Through The Night, scheduled for release on September 23rd.
The band, with Nicke Andersson (Entombed, The Hellacopters) as its driving force, has toured constantly since the release of last year's Honk Machine, and the expectations for this autumn's release are set sky high.
The limited time period between Honk Machine and All Through The Night poses the question, and rightly so, how has the band found time and creativity to record yet another album? Nicke's answer is clear: "We play rock 'n' roll music, if it takes four years to make a rock 'n' roll record then you have most likely over analysed an art form that is more about gut instinct. It should feel and this record feels good."
So, what are the immediate impressions of All Through The Night? At the first listen, it is clear that the band is back with another strong album that takes you on a journey through well-known Imperial State Electric country with sparkling riffs, infectious melodies and simple but refined songwriting. However with each preceding record ISE have enjoyed raising a few eyebrows and expanding into some new territory. This new album is no exception, with the country tinged duet with Linn Segolson - "Break It Down" and the sweeping Spector-like strings of the title track - "All Through The Night".
Nicke Anderson and Imperial State Electric have an artistic expression that may seem almost too easy. But believe me (if not me, believe Tom Petty) - what Imperial State Electric do is not an easy thing, many have tried and almost as many have failed. With All Through The Night Imperial State Electric proves that they have raised their game another notch.
Sure, they subscribe to the school of "less-is-more-greats" like Cheap Trick, The Clash, Tom Petty and The Ramones, but somehow they manage to make this fresh and vital as opposed to retro and overdone. On All through The Night, the band is everything and a little more than what you can ask of a rock album, whether the year is 1967 or 2016.
All Through The Night" was recorded in Nicke Andersson's studio The Honk Palace and is mixed by Frans Hagglund (Samling, Last Days Of April, The Hives).

Montreal’s KROKMITËN Reveal New Album Artwork; Preview Video StreamingMontréal experimental death metal band Krokmitën have unveiled the cover art for their upcoming new album, HETA, possibly hinting at a summer release. The final artwork is what Simlev, Krokmitën’s guitarist/vocalist captured as the album's concept.
HETA is mixed by Simlev, mastered by JF Dagenais (Kataklysm, Malevolent Creation, Misery Index) and will be available as a free download on the band’s official website and on its YouTube channel once released.
Frontman Simlev had this to reveal about this third offering: "HETA is a very primal and straight forward album. It will again consist of one non-stop single track clocking in at 36 minutes. The experimental aspect of Krokmitën is almost out of the equation this time around, but still features something ominous that you’ve probably never heard before. We're preparing something special for the release that I seriously think our fans will appreciate. A lot of water has flowed beneath the bridges here since Omicron-Omega and after all is said and done, I'm still working hard to release HETA this summer; since a DIY project like Krokmitën is an ever-learning experience, the process can become time-consuming, but there are no set-backs, everything is falling into place. As previously announced, Guyot has taken over drums duty on HETA: He's bursting with talent; fast, precise and creative. Some of you know him from Beyond Creation's first album, The Aura."
Watch Guyot talk HETA and play parts of the upcoming album with a drum-cam:
"The premise for the album goes like this: In their quest to prove the existence of the elusive H particle and to know more about dark energy and dark matter, 10,000 scientists and engineers from over 100 countries gathered together to build the largest single machine our world has ever seen; a gargantuan particle collider powerful enough to create and disrupt stars on galactic levels. Little did they know that they were ripping apart the very basic structures of space and time, thus allowing an unknown insidious force to slither through and tap into the population’s most primal instincts, to violently unleash them and ultimately lead mankind to extinction!" adds Simlev.
Don't miss the upcoming HETA release date announcement, head to krokmiten.com to keep in touch with everything Krokmitën, free album downloads, videos and news.

STEEL PANTHER - Highlight Reel From Festival D'été de Québec 2016 PostedGlam gods Steel Panther performed at the Festival d'été de Québec on July 14th. Nova Films has posted a zwo minute highlight reel which can be viewed below.
Steel Panther have released Live From Lexxi’s Mom’s Garage, the band’s first full length film featuring a live ten song acoustic concert interspersed with comedic vignettes showcasing the band’s unmatched shenanigans and debauchery. The album and film were released on CD and CD/DVD by Steel Panther’s label Open E Records via Kobalt Label Services, on February 26th. Order your copy now at this location.
Check out the video for “The Burden Of Being Wonderful” from the new release:
For the uninitiated, Steel Panther was formed in 2000 and is Michael Starr (lead singer), Satchel (guitarist), Lexxi Foxx (bass) and Stix Zadinia (drums).
Live From Lexxi’s Mom’s Garage was taped in Los Angeles last October in front of a live audience of scantily clad woman (and one old creepy fat guy who somehow got a ticket) inside the uncharacteristically large and professionally lit garage of Ms. Foxx (Bobbie Brown), who coincidentally also happens to be the mother of Lexxi Foxx. The musical portions of the film feature the band performing acoustic versions of their most popular songs such as “Party Like Tomorrow Is The End Of The World” and “Community Property” as well as one new song titled, “Then You Came In”. Several female violin players who are “very easy on the eyes,” says Stix, are featured and lay through the various hits with the band.
Between songs, the film follows the mischievousness of Steel Panther as they figure out who they can and cannot sleep with; and as they navigate the world as the biggest glam rock band that never was from 1985, in 2016.
“It was so much fun playing our songs on these new wooden guitars in my mom’s garage!” said Lexxi Fox. “Satchel says that he might be my new dad, but I’m not really sure what that means!” he added.

CROBOT Premieres New Song "Welcome To Fat City", Audio AvailableCrobot has unveiled the latest song off their new record, "Welcome To Fat City". “The title track from our latest album sets precedent for the groove-laden riffage that takes place throughout,” frontman Brandon Yeagley explained to Consequence Of Sound. “Inspired by Hunter S. Thompson’s campaign for Sheriff of Aspen, Fat City is a planet of sanctuary for the scum of the universe and cigar-smoking big wigs Hunter hoped to keep out of his fine city. Instead, we welcome them with open arms ’cause down here, it’s always gritty. Step right up Beardos and Welcome To Fat City!”
Due for release September 23rd via Wind-up Records, the album, Welcome To Fat City is the band's second studio release, and the highly anticipated followup to Something Supernatural which saw the Pennsylvania based four-piece dominate the US and European live scene, landing them tours with the likes of Motorhead, Volbeat, Anthrax, Clutch, Black Label Society, Chevelle, and more.
Welcome To Fat City was recorded with producer, Machine (Clutch, Lamb Of God, Every Time I Die), and mixed by engineer Alan Moulder (Foo Fighters, Nine Inch Nails, Them Crooked Vultures, Led Zeppelin), Welcome To Fat City is due for release September 23 via Wind-up Records.
Previously, Crobot released a lyric video for “Not For Sale”, another track from their upcoming album, Welcome To Fat City.
