Italy’s MELLOWTOY Premier “Dead Colours” Animated Music VideoMilan, Italy-based rock/metal band, Mellowtoy, has released the music video for their track "Dead Colours”, from their album Lies, which is available on iTunes now. The animated video was written and directed by The Jack Stupid and features a silent creature attempting to bend the laws of nature to feel less lonely.
"Dead Colours" starts from Alan Moore's world and, in particular, from the Watchmen character Dr. Manhattan, an immortal creature that lives in a world that's still subordinated to cruel natural laws. The protagonist knows that sooner or later, everyone and everything he loves will fade away just in front of his eyes. His fear of lonliness and all his pain for abandon make him interact with world's natural cycle. He slows down the time flowing to have more time to share with his beloved.
At the beginning this could seem a good solution but the plan reveals a huge fail and forces the creature to restore the natural cycle without a possibility to escape from his pain. Considerations above pain, fear and loneliness seem to be the first and more expected reading of this video, there is also a biographical reference to Mellowtoy's story and the latest leaving of Matt Massa, the historic singer of the band.
This video represents a deep reflection on changes and the future. It talks about the difficulty and the responsibility to make choices on which depend other people's life. It's not a coincidence the fact that the two main character of Dead Colours has a father/son relationship where father's behaviour reflects on son's way. Furthermore this video talks about the fear to compromise humans reletionship with wrong behaviour. The video itself stops on a non-concluded attempt to repair all these mistake, keeping an open final view and giving the audience the possibility to choose its own end to this story.

How Producer RICK RUBIN Got METALLICA To Re-Embrace Its Thrash Metal RootsLegendary producer Rick Rubin spoke to Rolling Stone magazine about his work on METALLICA's last studio album, 2008's "Death Magnetic", considered by many a return to the band's thrash metal roots. Rubin said: "They had made that movie, 'Some Kind Of Monster', which I thought was really bold of them to make, because it showed them lost.
"The main goal of our work together was to get them to re-embrace being METALLICA, feeling okay to be a heavy metal band. In some ways, they had already done that, but before that, they had tried to reinvent themselves in different ways.
"I tried to get them to re-engage with everything everybody fell in love with, with METALLICA, in the first place. I got them to listen to the music that they were listening to at the time that they made 'Master Of Puppets', those influences. I asked them to live with those influences and spend more time playing together as a band.'
He continued: "They'd fallen into a trap of using the studio more as an instrument and punching in parts to get the perfection they were looking for than they were getting through raw performance power. It was about getting them to not try ideas by editing them together with a machine, but to try playing them in different orders to see what they felt like. And they really ended up getting back to being a band.
"Anytime Lars [Ulrich, METALLICA drummer] would want to sit at the computer and try and write, I would insist that he and the band would all play together. [Laughs] Some of it was just a habit for them. It's easy to try a lot of ideas if you don't have to play them. But if you're playing one part and it's going to go into the next part, you might play the first part or the second part slightly differently, and the way that they bleed into each other or oppose each other can happen in a way that's musical. You can hear that here. That doesn't happen when you randomly click pieces together."
Rubin went on to say: "The other writing experiment I challenged them with was, 'Imagine there was no such band as METALLICA. Imagine you guys are in the band that you are in, this band, and you're going to play in a 'Battle Of The Bands.' You want to blow people away. What does that sound like? Without the baggage of thinking it needs to be any certain thing, what is the thing that you feel like will tear the heads off of the audience?" It really worked out good. I love that whole 'Death Magnetic' album.
"Death Magnetic" was officially certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on June 28, 2010 for shipments in the United States in excess of two million copies.
Ulrich told The Pulse of Radio in an October 2008 interview that he didn't understand the controversy that had broken out over the audio quality of "Death Magnetic" shortly after the LP's release. Some fans and publications had accused the group and Rick Rubin of mixing the album at such a loud volume that the music is distorted and difficult to listen to. But Ulrich said that he's more than happy with the way it turned out. "I listen to this record, and I listen to it every couple of days," he said. "And when I hear it, it puts a smile on my face and it blows me away, and I don't understand what people are talking about. Somebody told me the other day that there were 12,000 people that had signed a petition to remix the record. We've sold two and a half million copies [worldwide] of 'Death Magnetic'. You do the math yourself."
A number of fans said online that they prefer the versions of the CD's tracks prepared for the Guitar Hero video game, which are mixed differently.
Ted Jensen, the engineer who mastered the album at Sterling Sound in New York, responded to fan complaints that the CD is too loud and the audio is pushed to distortion levels by writing, "I'm certainly sympathetic to your reaction, I get to slam my head against that brick wall every day. In this case the mixes were already brick-walled before they arrived at my place. Suffice to say I would never be pushed to overdrive things as far as they are here. Believe me, I'm not proud to be associated with this one, and we can only hope that some good will come from this in some form of backlash against volume above all else."
Mastering is the process of preparing and transferring recorded audio from a source containing the final mix to a data storage device, the "master," from which all copies will be produced.
Blame for the sound quality has been laid at the feet of the band itself, Rick Rubin and his recording engineer, Greg Fidelman. 13

ACE FREHLEY's 'Origins Vol. 1' To Feature Guest Appearances By PAUL STANLEY, SLASH, MIKE MCCREADY, LITA FORDOriginal KISS guitarist Ace Frehley will release "Origins Vol. 1", a collection of twelve newly recorded classics from Ace's formative years featuring some of the biggest names in rock and roll, on April 15. Most notably, KISS frontman Paul Stanley joins Ace on FREE's hit "Fire And Water". This collaboration marks the first time that Ace and Paul appear on the same studio recording since KISS's 1998 reunion album "Psycho Circus".
Ace spoke with Rolling Stone about the new record, his guest players and recording with Paul after all these years. Regarding his reunion with Stanley, Frehley shrugged off any residual tension between the two of them. "We've always been friends," he told Rolling Stone. "The press seems to amplify negativity. I guess it makes good copy."
Frehley also commented on Stanley's appearance on "Fire And Water". "I thought Paul did a fabulous vocal on it," he said. "He jumped at the chance to do this because it's something that’s outside of KISS and his character in KISS, and it gave him a chance to, you know, sing. With Paul, you usually think of him singing in a slightly higher register and on 'Fire And Water', he's singing deep from his diaphragm, and it's a real cool vocal. Everyone who's heard it just thinks it's the shit."
Today Rolling Stone debuts "White Room", the classic hit originally performed by CREAM. Other guests are none other than Slash trading leads on THIN LIZZY's classic "Emerald", Lita Ford singing and playing lead on THE TROGGS staple "Wild Thing", ROB ZOMBIE guitarist John 5 playing guitar alongside Ace as he sings his classic KISS composition "Parasite" for the very first time, as well as Jimi Hendrix's "Spanish Castle Magic", and PEARL JAM's Mike McCready also plays guitar with Ace as he finally sings his KISS "Alive!" mainstay "Cold Gin". "White Room" is also an iTunes instant gratification track, meaning fans who pre order the LP on iTunes will receive the CREAM cover song instantly.
Ace will be as active as ever on the road in 2016, having just announced three weeks' worth of tour dates in the U.S., including two nights at the B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in New York City. Ace will be joined on the road by Richie Scarlet (rhythm, guitar and vocal duties), Chris Wyse (THE CULT) on bass and vocals, Scott Coogan (BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION) on drums.
"Origins Vol. 1" track listing:
01. White Room (CREAM)02. Street Fighting Man (ROLLING STONES)03. Spanish Castle Magic (JIMI HENDRIX) (feat. John 5)04. Fire And Water (FREE) (feat. Paul Stanley)05. Emerald (THIN LIZZY) (feat. Slash)06. Bring It On Home (LED ZEPPELIN)07. Wild Thing (THE TROGGS) (feat. Lita Ford)08. Parasite (KISS) (feat. John 5)09. Magic Carpet Ride (STEPPENWOLF) 10. Cold Gin (KISS) (feat. Mike McCready)11. Till The End Of The Day (THE KINKS)12. Rock And Roll Hell (KISS)
After weeks of bad-mouthing each other in the press, the four original members of KISS were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in April 2014 by RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE guitarist Tom Morello, with all four — Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss — delivering warm, nostalgic and even sweet-natured speeches that put aside the simmering tensions for at least 12 minutes.
KISS did not perform — the Hall Of Fame wanted the original quartet only to play, while Simmons and Stanley insisted on the current lineup — which also includes guitarist Tommy Thayer and drummer Eric Singer — performing as well. In the end nobody won that battle. 4

STONE TEMPLE PILOTS Members Defend Right To Keep Using The NameAccording to The Pulse Of Radio, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS bassist Robert DeLeo and guitarist Dean DeLeo defended their use of the band's name during an interview on Tuesday (February 9) with St. Louis radio station KPNT. Responding to a fan who called in and suggested that the band should change its name in the wake of Scott Weiland's death, Robert said: "There were three-quarters of us that were responsible with Scott, making STONE TEMPLE PILOTS. For instance, you have a company like Coca Cola, and you have someone running Coca Cola. If they're not there anymore, do you change the name of Coca Cola?"
Robert added: "It's easy for someone to say that, and get on their computer, and write that in, but if you're in that position in life, that's the last thing I want to do right now." He explained that it might be easier to change the name if the band were in their 20s and it was relatively early in their career, but that he now "can't afford to do it."
Dean DeLeo weighed in, saying: "It's interesting, because there's people that say, 'That was Scott's band.' Well I'm going to tell you something, if this was Scott's band, it would have been run into the ground by 1998. It would have been over."
Another caller told them they have the right to keep the name, since it's three of the four original members still performing STONE TEMPLE PILOTS songs.
Weiland was actually dismissed from STP in 2013 after reuniting with the group in 2010. At the time, he was replaced by LINKIN PARK's Chester Bennington, although some fans called for the name to be changed then.
Robert DeLeo told The Pulse Of Radio not long ago that keeping STP going after changing singers was never in question. "From the beginning, it wasn't 'Hey, let's together and write a song' or 'Hey, let's get together and do this show,'" he said. "It was 'Hey, let's get together and continue STONE TEMPLE PILOTS with a lot of integrity.' That's really what the intent was. It's something that Eric [Kretz, drummer] and Dean and myself have worked at for a long time, and we've been trying to hold up the whole integrity of this band for a long time."

ANTHRAX's SCOTT IAN On PHILIP ANSELMO: 'He Needs To Prove That He Should Be Forgiven'ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian has commented further on last month's incident when ex-PANTERA singer Philip Anselmo said "white power" and made the Nazi salute on stage. Anselmo later claimed he was referring to drinking white wine as part of an "inside joke" but has since released a video message, saying that he "deserves completely" the "heat" that he has been getting over his actions and claiming to be "a thousand percent apologetic to anyone that took offense to what [he] said."
In a message posted to Ian's personal web site in the days following the incident, the guitarist suggested Anselmo show how sincere he is by making a donation to Jewish human rights organization the Simon Wiesenthal Center. He also wrote: "Philip's actions were vile and that should be the focus here; anything else is just noise."
Asked by Australia's Sticks For Stones in a brand new interview if he thinks Anselmo should be forgiven for his actions, Ian responded (hear audio below): "Yeah. If he proves that he deserves to be, yeah. Just asking to be forgiven doesn't mean you should be forgiven. And I've had a running dialogue with Phil since this happened. It's not like I just posted something online without actually speaking to my friend. I've been having a dialogue back and forth with him. 'Cause if I didn't care, I wouldn't have contacted him at all. But I cared. Phil, I've known the dude almost thirty years. He's like a brother; he's family. And when someone in your family has a problem, you discuss it and you try and find a solution."
He continued: "My attitude towards the whole thing was, to me, silence is complicity. If you don't say something about something like this, then you're condoning it, and I can't condone that in any way, shape or form. It's not okay in any world, let alone the metal world, to do these kind of things in any type of context, because words are too powerful, especially Phil Anselmo's words, because there's too many impressionable people out there who listen to every fucking thing that dude says. So, you know, bottom line is he needs to prove that he should be forgiven, and the only thing that will prove that is his actions. And I am, of course, willing to give him the opportunity to prove that, because, like I said, he's like my brother. So I didn't write him off. I talked to him about it, and I have every hope inside of my heart that he will prove to the world that he is not this person."
Ian went on to reiterate the fact that he wants to see Anselmo learn from the incident and realize the error of his ways.
"The fact is he made his mistake in front of the world," Scott said. "You just need to be smarter than that — bottom line, you know. I mean, words have power, and that's what people need to understand. Not everybody understands your context. Not everybody sees everything you're gonna say about it. Some people will only see what you did and think that's okay. And that's the truth, because in the aftermath of the whole thing, and after I posted what I posted, I couldn't believe some of the ignorance coming back my way. Possibly the stupidest thing that I saw was someone saying to me, 'Well, why would you want him to donate money to the Simon Wiesenthal Center? That's a Jewish thing.' Sorry, to quote, 'That's a Jew thing, and 'white power' has nothing to do with Jews.' So that just shows you the ignorance out there. So, you know, people need to be educated. That's the bottom line here. People just really need to fucking learn a little bit, and I hope good will come out of this in some way, shape or form. Because it can't be accepted anywhere — not just the metal community, but anywhere in the world, it's unacceptable."
The Simon Wiesenthal Center operates Museums of Tolerance across the world and, according to its mission statement, "confronts anti-Semitism, hate and terrorism, promotes human rights and dignity, stands with Israel, defends the safety of Jews worldwide, and teaches the lessons of the Holocaust for future generations."
Several other notable musicians have come out and criticized Anselmo for his actions, including MACHINE HEAD frontman Robb Flynn, who uploaded an eleven-minute video response to the incident in which he called Anselmo a "big bully" and described Philip's behavior as "fucking wrong." 7

LACUNA COIL's CRISTINA SCABBIA Says 'Delirium' Album Is 'Centered On Insanity'Italian heavy rockers LACUNA COIL will tentatively release their new album, "Delirium", in May via Century Media. The CD was recorded in part at BRX Studio in Milan. The effort is being produced by LACUNA COIL bassist and main songwriter Marco "Maki" Coti-Zelati, with engineering by Marco Barusso and additional assistance from Dario Valentini.
Speaking to Revolver magazine, LACUNA COIL vocalist Cristina Scabbia stated about the lyrical themes covered on "Delirium": "There's a lot to say about it, and there's a lot of things that we still need to decide, and a lot of things that can change during the process. But overall, it's an album that will be centered on insanity — that was the main inspiration for this album. From simple types of insanity, like being in the same bed with your partner and not talking to each other but having your phone in your hand, or something more serious and specific, like Stockholm Syndrome, where a person loves another person in a crazy way, even if it's the wrong one. We even imagined that the entire record takes place in sort of a hospital or asylum, where different patients are telling us their stories."
Asked if "Delirium" will be a similar kind of record to 2014's "Broken Crown Halo", which had a "cinematic vibe" to it, Scabbia said: "Even more! And we're already discussing stage clothes and stage setup for the tour. I've always liked the theatrical side of the show. I've never agreed with the bands that don't even consider their look onstage, just because only music counts. Of course music counts — but if you go to a show, you want to see a band acting like they're doing a show. So I think costumes are important. It's like going to the theater and seeing the actors without their proper clothes — it's not the same! And honestly, it's more fun for the band — putting on the costumes before you go onstage, it's sort of a ritual, and it puts you into the show even more. It's still you, but it's a different side of yourself."
Scabbia is featured on the cover of Revolver magazine's "Hottest Chicks In Hard Rock" issue, which is on stands everywhere now. This marks a record third time she has graced the cover of rock's loudest magazine.
Said Cristina: "The photoshoot for the new Revolver cover was one of the coolest I've ever done, not only because it was inspired by 'Suspiria' (an Italian horror movie directed by the horror master Dario Argento), but also because the whole working team were been simply incredible. From Jimmy Hubbard (the photographer), who built up a panel that resembles the colored glass windows you see in the movie itself (and made me feel so comfortable during the whole working day) to the beautiful make-up artist and the stylists."
"Delirium" is LACUNA COIL's first album to featuring American drummer Ryan Blake Folden, who has been touring with the band since 2012.
As previously reported, LACUNA COIL has recruited Los Angeles-based musician Daniel Sahagún (BLACK LODGE) as a fill-in guitarist for the band following the recent departure of Marco "Maus" Biazzi.
Sahagún previously played bass for LACUNA COIL in 2014 when the band's bassist and main songwriter Marco "Maki" Coti-Zelati was sick and unable to tour with the group.
Daniel made his live debut as LACUNA COIL's guitarist during this past weekend's 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise.
Said Scabbia: "[Daniel] came on the cruise to play with us, but he is not the new member of LACUNA COIL (still part of the family, though!)."
Biazzi left LACUNA COIL in January, explaining in a statement: "I felt I couldn't add more in this project any longer so I decided to leave my second family, LACUNA COIL, to take a different path for a new challenge in my life.
LACUNA COIL in February 2014 parted ways with guitarist Cris "Pizza" Migliore and drummer Cristiano "Criz" Mozzati. 2

Video: DISTURBED Performs Cover Of 'The Sound Of Silence' Live For First TimeFan-filmed video footage of DISTURBED performing its cover of SIMON & GARFUNKEL's "The Sound Of Silence" live for the first time on February 10 in Fargo, North Dakota can be seen below.
DISTURBED frontman David Draiman told Philadelphia radio station 93.3 WMMR that the band has been "blown away" by the response to its version of "The Sound Of Silence". Draiman explained: "We're pretty blown away — and surprised, to be honest — by the amount of positivity that has surrounded the cover. Because it was definitely a left turn, and it was something that, to be perfectly honest, I wouldn't have intended to go to, stylistically, on my own."
Draiman said that performing the song live should be an interesting experience. "From a vocal standpoint, it's not as challenging as you might imagine, but from a production standpoint, that will be challenging," he said. "We've talked about bringing out either a string quartet or maybe trying to get local orchestras to maybe be a part of it or whatever the case may be. We've talked all kinds of things and it's a very significant production nightmare, but I think it's definitely one we're heading down the road for."
Draiman said that it took him three hours to record the vocals for the song — the longest vocal session of his career — and recalled hearing it three days later. He explained, "[I] was kind of tearing up listening to it, because it had been so long since I have allowed myself to go to that place vocally, and hearing it, and hearing it come out as well as I thought it did was not just gratifying, but like having a weight lifted off me."
"The Sound Of Silence" is taken from DISTURBED's sixth studio album, "Immortalized", which was released in August.
The album debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 chart, making it DISTURBED's fifth effort in a row to enter the chart at Number One, a feat shared only with METALLICA and DAVE MATTHEWS BAND.
DISTURBED kicked off a North American tour — its first in more than four years — in Fargo. 1

HELLOWEEN Releases 'Heroes' Performance Video"Heroes", the new performance video from German power metallers HELLOWEEN, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's 15th studio album, "My God-Given Right", which was released in May 2015 via Nuclear Blast. The CD was recorded between October 2014 and February 2015 at the band's MiSueno Studio on the isle of Tenerife with producer Charlie Bauerfeind (GOTTHARD, HAMMERFALL).
The "My God-Given Right" artwork was once again created by graphic guru Martin Häusler (BON JOVI, QUEEN, GOTTHARD) and is also available as a 3D lenticular print.
Regarding the new CD title, HELLOWEEN bassist Markus Grosskopf told New Noise Magazine: "You've got the fuckin' God-given damn right to do what you like to do. If you do something for many years, you've got the right to do any kind of stuff you like. You have the right to do and say anything, as long as it doesn't hurt anybody. When you make the choice to do whatever you'd like to do, you've got to do it with all of your heart. You've got to do it, but you've got to deal with the problems that come with it."
Grosskopf stated about the new album's musical direction: "Today, we fool around more with arrangements. It's a little more arranged, like what we did in the '80s or something. But the basic track is a basic HELLOWEEN track. If somebody writes a song and the other player plays his instrument to it, he knows exactly what he needs to do, almost without asking, to make it sound like HELLOWEEN sounds like. That's the experience you get when you do something for so many years."
HELLOWEEN will return to North America to play select shows in February and March. 35

ATREYU: 'A Bitter Broken Memory' Video Released"A Bitter Broken Memory", the new video from the popular California rock band ATREYU, can be seen below. The clip is a compilation of various footage of the live gigs that ATREYU has been playing in the past year since the launch of the band's sixth album, "Long Live".
Commented ATREYU drummer/vocalist Brandon Saller: "This video essentially shows a bit of the journey that 'Long Live' has had so far. From being in the studio to playing club shows to playing in stadiums. We wanted to give our fans a little view of what we’ve been doing for the last year and what this record has done for us."
"Long Live" was released in September 2015 through the Search And Destroy imprint as part of the newly announced joint venture between Raw Power Management and Spinefarm.
Asked why ATREYU decided to come back now after a four-year hiatus, guitarist Dan Jacobs told Already Heard: "It just felt right! I think it was a matter of everybody being on board at the same time. We'd gotten interest from a couple of guys here and there, but not everyone, then it would go back the other way. Some people would be interested, but not the other people and it was just, like, 'Ugh, come on, guys! Just get everybody on the same page!' I think everything happens for a reason, though. I feel like this is the best time for us to come back. We unintentionally starved the market, which is the best thing we could've done. We were really burnt out — even our fanbase was burnt out because we were touring so much; we were so accessible. By starving the market and stepping back for a bit, people are kind of, like, 'Are they gone forever? Are they ever coming back?' Everybody wants what they can't have, you know? So if you take something away from somebody, then they start getting all excited and talking about it, so it worked in our favor; it's helped launch us back into the scene."
Dan also talked about the making of "Long Live". He said: "We were all so excited and inspired. By the time it came around to doing it, we just pumped the songs out pretty fast. Sometimes we'd write two or three songs in one sitting, doing rough demos on our phones and sending them over to Alex [Varkatzas, vocals] and he'd come up with lyrics to it. We broke the record into two halves — we went in and recorded the first half, then came up with the vocal melodies and guitar solos for the second half in the studio as we were going along. Then when we finished the first half, we went back to the second and worked on the next five or six songs. We'd never really approached it that way before, and, for us, it was better, instead of, 'Let's write 15 songs and try to remember them all and write them all and play them all in one go.' Let’s just do a few at a time and really focus on these songs, give them much more attention, that way they can be the best they can be." 1

IRON MAIDEN's BRUCE DICKINSON Flies Endangered Turtle To SpainAccording to Olive Press, IRON MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson flew an endangered turtle to Spain.
Dickinson's personal plane flew Terri the turtle to the Canary Islands after she was washed up on a Jersey beach with a damaged shell and a nasty infection.
A crowdfunding campaign raised €8,000 to rescue the reptile and fly her to Spain, where a sanctuary had offered to care for her.
Dickinson is a true polymath. In addition to being one of heavy metal's most storied and well-respected lead singers, Bruce is a qualified airline pilot, an aviation entrepreneur and motivational speaker and has been a world-class fencer, a published novelist, movie script writer and a radio broadcaster.
Bruce is currently preparing for a massive world tour with IRON MAIDEN following the recent release of their critically acclaimed new double studio album, "The Book Of Souls", which debuted at No 1 in over 40 countries. He is also using his simulator at Cardiff Aviation to learn to pilot the massive Boeing 747, Ed Force One , which will carry the band, crew and equipment over 55,000 miles round the world for concerts in 35 countries.
Bruce left IRON MAIDEN in 1993 in order to pursue a solo career, his passion for fencing and an interest in becoming a pilot. Bruce rejoined the band in 1999 and has gone on to release four albums; despite this, he hasn't stopped flying Boeing 757s.
As previously reported, HarperNonFiction and Dey Street will publish Dickinson's memoir in autumn 2017 in hardback, ebook and audio, with a paperback to follow in 2018.
His book will be a rock memoir like none other, taking in his thirty years with MAIDEN, his solo career, the weird and wonderful places and situations he’s found himself in, and his recent battle with cancer. 17

WOLFMOTHER recently teamed with popular enhanced coloring book app Recolor to give fans the opportunity to create their own colorized version of the "Victorious" album art. Recolor was created by premium photo app developer Sumoing. WOLFMOTHER will be including songs from "Victorious" on its much-anticipated headline tour of North America, set to kick off February 24 at First Avenue in Minneapolis. The follow-up to 2009's "Cosmic Egg" and 2014's "New Crown", the much-anticipated "Victorious" is an electrifying testament to the range and depth of songwriter/vocalist/guitarist Andrew Stockdale's artistry. Recorded at Henson Studios in Los Angeles with two-time-Grammy-winning producer Brendan O'Brien (PEARL JAM, AC/DC, CHRIS CORNELL, BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN), the songs are edgy, inventive and uncompromising and rank among the band's best ever. In addition to vocals, Stockdale played guitar and bass and brought in Josh Freese (NINE INCH NAILS, BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN, A PERFECT CIRCLE) and Joey Waronker (AIR, BECK, REM) to split drum duties.

LZZY HALE - "When You Party On The HALESTORM Bus, You Wake Up The Next Morning As EDDIE!"; Photo AvailableHalestorm vocalist/guitarist Lzzy Hale, who has a reputation for being honest, open and sharing with her fans, has posted a photo online for all to see documenting her spot-on impression of Iron Maiden mascot, Eddie, presumably taken after a night of partying on the road. Well done...
Hale recently posted a new entry in her Lady Evil online diary entitled Brutally Yours. An excerpt is available below:
"I’d like to talk about a sticky subject and how it relates to sex, confidence, stress, and over all quality of life. Honesty.
Honesty is both the heartbeat and the heartbreaker. What I’ve learned personally is that my professional and personal life would not exist without it. Honesty takes bravery. To be honest with yourself and to be honest with those who surround you and those close to you, is scary.
We all want to fantasize and believe we are someone else, someone more desirable, always right, and undisputedly perfect. Well, the truth is that none of us are those things, but equally by being ourselves we ARE everything we need to be. Wouldn’t it suck if you did everything in your power to be someone else that you thought someone else wanted… only to find out that they really wanted YOU for everything that you ARE all along? We as humans do not exist as pieces to a monochrome wardrobe of society, solely for the purpose of matching each other. We are meant to shine brightly in our own way completely different than the one that stands to our right or left.
I’ve gotten more rewards from putting myself out there. This blog and my relationship with all of you, for example: I decided a long time ago to be unapologetically myself, and give all of you access to my best and my worst. Because I know that there is only one me, and not everyone is gonna like it, but the people that do accept me for all of me, are the ones that are worth keeping. So, I thank you for everything you all are to me. And remind you to Be Brutal, Be You."

On January 8th, Hale and Halestorm guitarist Joe Hottinger performed an acoustic set at the Mercy Lounge in Nashville, TN. Check out the fan filmed video from the night below.

SIXX: A.M. To Release 'Rise' Single In MarchSIXX: A.M., the band featuring MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx alongside guitarist DJ Ashba and vocalist James Michael, will release a new single, "Rise", on March 1. The track will appear on a forthcoming first volume of a double album, due later this year.
Of the single's message, Sixx said: "We are not a political band, but we are extremely reflective. During the making of this album, we were under the same media siege as the rest of the world, so 'Rise' came out of that and hopefully reminds people that we all have a voice."
Michael added: "Throughout history, some of the most dramatic changes have occurred when people reject the status quo and demand change. 'Rise' is about how we find ourselves at a global tipping point and how it is our duty as citizens of this world to come together, communicate with one another and rise up to demand more of ourselves and our leaders."
Ashba stated: "'Rise', to me, is a message of empowerment. It will take on a personal meaning to everyone who hears it, but the message is the same. Whether it's an individual trying to overcome their own struggles, or a nation as a whole, we can all rise above the negativity, if we stand up for what we believe in."
SIXX: A.M. will tour the U.S. this spring. In Michael's video message below, he announces the launch of a demand campaign, urging fans to request the band perform in their city.
SIXX: A.M. recently hired Dustin Steinke of the Canadian rock group BLEEKER (formerly BLEEKER RIDGE) as its permanent drummer.
Steinke made his live debut with SIXX: A.M. in February 2015 at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, Japan as part of Vampark Fest hosted by the rock band VAMPS.
Nikki previously said that SIXX: A.M.'s new effort would contain over 22 songs and would be tied in with a 24-month world tour.
SIXX: A.M.'s third album, "Modern Vintage", was released on October 7, 2014 via Eleven Seven Music.

METAL CHURCH: Lyric Video For New Song 'Killing Your Time'Hard rock titans METAL CHURCH will release their new album, "XI", on March 25 via Rat Pak Records. Produced by Kurdt Vanderhoof and co-produced by Chris "The Wizard" Collier, the band's eleventh studio release also marks the return of legendary vocalist and frontman Mike Howe.
The official lyric video for the new METAL CHURCH song "Killing Your Time", taken from "XI", can be seen below.
"XI" is available for pre-order in various exclusive bundles at this location. A limited number of the deluxe international version are available on the web site and features a bonus disc of eight extra songs. Other bundles include guitar picks, stickers, a special-edition behind-the-scenes photobook, t-shirts and even a limited number of personal phone calls from Mike Howe himself. The album is also available for pre-order on Amazon, Google Play and via iTunes. Fans that order the digital version will receive an instant download of the song "Killing Your Time" from the new album.
The reunion between Mike and METAL CHURCH was put in motion in July of 2014 when Mike started working with Kurdt Vanderhoof on a side project he was forming with Nigel Glockler from SAXON. Through these initial conversations, Kurdt convinced Mike to ultimately return to METAL CHURCH. The idea was to see if they could recapture some of the magic from the three albums METAL CHURCH released in the late '80s: "The Human Factor", "Blessing In Disguise" and "Hanging In The Balance". Out of those sessions, "XI" was born and captures the sound that made the band fan-favorites in the '80's and mixes it with a new, invigorated sound for 2016. "Sometimes I still can't believe it myself," says Vanderhoof. "No one would have ever thought Mike would return after his departure almost two decades ago."
Adds Howe: "At first, I struggled with the decision to come back, but after hearing the riffs that Kurdt was writing, I just couldn't resist. The music called to me and I wanted to be part of it!" METAL CHURCH has also released an official music video for the debut single from "XI", a song called "No Tomorrow". The clip was filmed in the Satsop Nuclear Facility, an abandoned nuclear power plant in Elma, Washington, with Seattle filmmaker and documentarian Jamie Burton Chamberlin (of Black Dahlia Films), who previously worked with DUFF MACKAGAN'S LOADED on "The Taking" series.
The track listing for "XI" is: 01. Reset02. Killing Your Time03. No Tomorrow04. Signal Path05. Sky Falls In06. Needle & Suture07. Shadow08. Blow Your Mind09. Soul Eating Machine10. It Waits11. Suffer Fools Rat Pak Records has entered into a licensing agreement with Nuclear Blast for distribution of "XI" in all territories outside of North America, South America and Japan.
"We here at Rat Pak Records were very excited to receive a licensing request from Markus Staiger and his amazing team at Nuclear Blast Europe to release this new METAL CHURCH [album] into their international territories, ultimately ensuring that this album will reach every corner of the globe," states Rat Pak Records president Joe O'Brien.
Staiger adds: "We are happy and proud to welcome METAL CHURCH, an absolute metal legend, to the Nuclear Blast Europe family! When the self-titled debut album was released in 1984, it was a revelation to me — that this was how heavy metal had to sound like — with killer riffs and plenty of speed!
"We will do our utmost to help re-establish METAL CHURCH here in Europe and get them back where they belong — in the 'Champions League' once again!"
King Records will oversee the new METAL CHURCH release throughout Japan.
"We are very excited to be releasing the new album by METAL CHURCH," adds "Ryo" Saito of King Records.

DREAM THEATER: 'The Astonishing' First-Week Chart Positions Revealed"The Astonishing", the new album from progressive metallers DREAM THEATER, has registered the following first-week chart positions:
Norway: #2Hungary: #2Italy: #3Sweden: #3Portugal –#3Netherlands: #4Germany: #5Austria: #6Canada: #7Australia: #10Japan: #10Belgium: #11U.K.: #11U.S.: #11France: #13New Zealand: #17
Said the band in a statement: "'The Astonishing' has been released to rave reviews across the world. Now the first week's numbers are in, and they are… well, astonishing! 'The Astonishing' lands at #1 in the United States on the Billboard Rock Albums chart. Thanks to our loyal fans in Norway, 'The Astonishing' made its chart debut at #2, the all-time top position for DREAM THEATER in that country. In Sweden, the band just made its highest-ever chart debut at #3. DREAM THEATER's first-ever top 10 debut in Australia came in at #10, and in the U.K., 'The Astonishing' just entered the charts at #11, the band’s highest chart debut there, as well."
"The Astonishing" was released on January 29 via Roadrunner. The CD was made available in a wide range of distinctive versions, including standard 2-CD set, 4-LP vinyl box set and a limited-edition deluxe box set.
Recorded at Cove City Sound Studios in Glen Cove, New York, with John Petrucci producing, studio luminary Richard Chycki (AEROSMITH, RUSH) engineering/mixing and legendary arranger, composer and conductor David Campbell orchestrating, "The Astonishing" paints a tale of a retro-futurist post-apocalyptic dystopia ruled by medieval style feudalism. It's a place aching for a Chosen One to rise above the noise and defeat an Empire defined by the endless drone of noise machines and the illusion of safety in bland conformity.
Asked what prompted the idea to make "The Astonishing" a rock-opera concept album so elaborate, with a full, detailed storyline, DREAM THEATER guitarist John Petrucci told RollingStone.com: "The idea to do a concept album as a band felt right. The last one we did [1999's 'Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From A Memory'] was about 15 years ago, and it really felt like we were in a good place to do this. I knew that what needed to happen, first and foremost, is that we had to have a story to base this on, because the idea of basing an album off of a loose concept or something that was sort of arbitrary, that didn't interest me at all. I wanted this not only to be a concept album, but really to write a full show. And to have all the elements in place, the story needs to drive that. We needed to have the storyline, a plot, places, characters, maps — you name it. So that started about two and a half years ago; it took about a year for me to get that story done and ready to present to the guys. And I wanted to write from a place that was familiar to me, so I knew that music had to play a role in the story somehow. I'm a huge fan of the sci-fi and fantasy genres, so I had a pretty good idea of where I wanted to go. But it was a matter of really diving into it and working on it, revising and revising again, and working on it every day until I had something solid."
Petrucci also talked in more detail about the songwriting process for "The Atonishing". He said: "Because of the sheer volume of music — you're talking, when all's said and done, probably two hours, 10 minutes' worth of music — every step of this has been a huge process. I don't think I've had time to do anything else over the last year or so [laughs]! In order to do this right, I had to be really, really organized about it. Jordan [Rudess, keyboards] and I wrote the music as really a prog-metal score to the story. We didn't sit down and say, 'Let's write a song, here's the first chorus, whatever.' We would go through the story and say, "What's happening here, where is it taking place?" We had to make sure the mythology was right, the timeline was right. And that carried through on every level. When it came to presenting the orchestration to [veteran conductor and orchestrator] David Campbell and getting him involved; when it came to writing the lyrics, and then me having to go through it song by song, character by character; even things like the artwork, creating the map and all those different towns and cities and roads — every sort of level and layer took a lot of organization and focus."

PRETTY MAIDS Singer's NORDIC UNION: EPK For Debut AlbumAn Electronic Press Kit (EPK) for the self-titled debut album from NORDIC UNION is available below The CD was released on January 29 via Frontiers Music Srl.
NORDIC UNION is the name behind the new musical collaboration, built by Frontiers president Serafino Perugino, between singer Ronnie Atkins of the legendary Danish hard rock institution PRETTY MAIDS and the up-and-coming Swedish songwriter and producer Erik Martensson of ECLIPSE and W.E.T. fame.
The partnership between the two fellow Scandinavians worked well and together they have created some musical magic, which will truly impress the fans of these highly regarded musicians. Atkins says: "The music on the album has a focus on good melodies and there's some good guitar work as well. I had a good gut feeling ever since I heard the first songs from Erik Martensson, and I was right he's a very gifted and talented songwriter!"
These songs are guaranteed not to leave your head for a long time. Just have a listen to the gorgeous anthemic opener "The War Has Begun" and some killer melodic gems like "When Death Is Calling", "21 Guns" and "Hypocrisy" with great hooks and epic guitar riffs. "Wide Awake" can be described as a combination between pop and melodic rock with a modern production. There's really something for everyone here!
"While PRETTY MAIDS is still my first priority" explains Ronnie, "the production process and the work on this record went very smoothly. I think what came out is a killer melodic hard rock album with a lot of good songs on it. I could really feel the songs as mine and identify with those. So I hope the fans will be able to share my view and it's been some kind of a little fresh breath in between albums for me, really."
"Nordic Union" track listing:
01. The War Has Begun02. Hypocrisy03. Wide Awake04. Every Heartbeart05. When Death Is Calling06. 21 Guns07. Falling08. The Other Side09. Point Of No Return10. True Love Awaits You11. Go

INCANTATION Re-Signs With RELAPSE, Completes Work On New AlbumRelapse Records has announces the re-signing of death metal veterans INCANTATION. The band, which originally signed to the label in the early 1990s and released some of the most influential extreme metal albums of all time, including "Onward To Golgotha" (1992), "Mortal Throne Of Nazarene" (1994), "Diabolical Conquest" (1998), and "The Infernal Storm" (2000), has come full circle to reunite with Relapse for its forthcoming tenth studio album.
INCANTATION, an institution for over 25 years, remains hands down one of the most important, influential and consistently regarded artists in metal, and the band's new material is sure to be no exception. The group is currently recording its upcoming full-length at their own Incantation Studios in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. The album will be mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö (BLOODBATH, ASPHYX, DARK FUNERAL) and is expected to be completed in February, with a release date slated for this summer. Upon completing the album, INCANTATION will head to Europe to tour with MORGOTH, DARKRISE and OMOPHAGIA. The band has also been confirmed for this year's Obscene Extreme festival in the Czech Republic and will announce more dates and festival appearances shortly. A complete listing of dates is included below.
INCANTATION's Kyle Severn commented on the re-signing: "2016 is off to a great start for INCANTATION death metal!!!
"We are extremely excited to announce that we are returning to the Relapse family. They were there a quarter century ago when INCANTATION and Relapse were both starting their careers, so to be able to come full circle and release our tenth studio album with them is truly amazing and we are looking forward to the release and touring this record later this year!!!!"
Added INCANTATION's John McEntee: "Yes, it is true we have returned to Relapse Records. Over the last eight years, we have been working with them on various projects with great results. It's awesome to start a new chapter of the band going back to our roots and working with the label that believed in us back in 1990 when we were still a demo band. It's great to work with a label that still believes in us in 2016 and still believes in the perseverance of real death metal."
Relapse Records founder/president Matt Jacobson said: "INCANTATION are one of the true pioneers of American death metal and their unwavering dedication, consistency and longevity is unmatched. We are proud to welcome them back to their original home." 2

The band adds: "This record was a long time coming, and it seemed it would never come to light, but it did, so be ready!"

WALLS OF JERICHO's last album, "The American Dream", (Trustkill Records), sold around 2,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The effort debuted at No. 11 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
"The American Dream" was recorded at Spider Studios in Cleveland, Ohio with Ben Schigel and Tony Gammalo.
WALLS OF JERICHO and Corey Taylor (SLIPKNOT, STONE SOUR) collaborated on an EP entitled "Redemption". The CD, which was produced by Taylor, featured primarily melodic vocals and acoustic instruments.
Seemingly overnight, stylized bands playing strains of melodic hardcore have sailed up the pop charts. But for WALLS OF JERICHO things have played out a bit differently. During the scene's ascension, the band's members have all but shunned the idea of a genre tag or an "image" and have instead focused their energies on making music that will survive strictly on its musical merits.
Most bands in the world can be lumped into one category or another, they are shuffled, redefined, and in that way they begin to lose the qualities that could make them important or meaningful. The greatest bands, the most influential or memorable, are the ones who don't try to fill the role set for them, who don't pursue anything other than the desire to make music, and the need to express that art to an audience. From the start this has been the mindset of WALLS OF JERICHO.
WALLS OF JERICHO is:

ALL HAIL THE YETI To Release 'Screams From A Black Wilderness' Album In AprilLast week, ALL HAIL THE YETI reissued its 2012 breakout self-titled album via Minus Head Records, reintroducing listeners to the band's potent blend of groove, stoner and hardcore metal. At the time of the CD's original release, ALL HAIL THE YETI fans were promised that a track on the record would conceptually tie into the band's next album, teased for release this year. Four years of brainstorming, several important lineup changes and hundreds of shows performed later, the wait is over. ALL HAIL THE YETI will release its follow-up full-length concept album, titled "Screams From A Black Wilderness", on April 8 via Minus Head Records. The concept, based on classic campfire-circle horror stories, presents a different story with each track. "Screams From A Black Wilderness" track listing:
01. Before The Flames02. Plague Dance03. Let The Night Roar04. Mr. Murder (feat. Brock Lindow of 36 Crazyfists)05. Lady Of The Night06. Witch Is Dead07. Daughter Of The Morning Star08. Sun Will Never Set09. Fall Of Core10. Breaking On The Wheel11. Nemesis Queen12. Angels Envy To visually tie the new album to the concept teased on the self-titled album, ALL HAIL THE YETI has leaked a chilling new music video for the self-titled album track, "After The Great Fire" (this track is considered part two of the story; the prequel to this story, titled "Before The Flames", appears on "Screams From A Black Wilderness"). "After The Great Fire" tells the tale of an orphanage which houses children being abused by caretaker nuns. When the nuns try to hide the abuse, their plan backfires tragically. Watch the video — directed by Brian Cox of Flarelight Films — below. "Screams From A Black Wilderness" was produced by Matt Hyde, known for his prior work with such groups such as DEFTONES, SLAYER and SOULFLY, and features a guest vocal appearance from Brock Lindow of 36 CRAZYFISTS. Vocalist Connor Garrity clarifies that the "Screams From A Black Wilderness" writing process, both sonically and conceptually, came easily once the new line-up for the band had been solidified. "When our guitarist Alan Stokes joined the band, the writing process finally felt natural," he said. "While we knew we wanted to connect it to the self-titled album, 'Screams From A Black Wilderness' was truly conceptualized as it came together in the studio. We knew we wanted to do something different while still keeping our integral sound. This album, to us, is a more developed version of the style you hear on the self-titled release. Working with Matt Hyde was instrumental; he understood what we were doing musically and used that to pull the best out of us." "Screams From A Black Wilderness" will feature a heavier, grimier and considerably more advanced version of the ALL HAIL THE YETI fans have come to know since the band's inception. ALL HAIL THE YETI current lineup:
Connor Garritty - vocalsNicholas Diltz - bassRyan "Junior" Kittlitz - drumsAlan Stokes - guitar

PAPA ROACH To Release Deluxe Edition Of 'F.E.A.R.' AlbumCalifornia rockers PAPA ROACH will release a deluxe version of their eighth studio album, "F.E.A.R.", on March 11 via iTunes. The deluxe edition will include three bonus live tracks: "F.E.A.R." (Face Everything and Rise), "Leader Of The Broken Hearts" and "Scars".
In December, PAPA ROACH released the music video for "Falling Apart", the third single off "F.E.A.R." The disc already spawned two hits at radio with "Face Everything And Rise", which reached #1 on the Active Rock Chart, and "Gravity", which peaked at #5, landing the band as the #8 "Most Played Active Artist" of 2015.
"F.E.A.R." came out in January 2015. The disc was recorded in Las Vegas, taking the band out of their Sacramento, California home base for the first time since 2006. PAPA ROACH worked with the father-and-son producing team of Kevin and Kane Churko on the new CD.
PAPA ROACH singer Jacoby Shaddix told The Pulse Of Radio that he wasn't very happy at first about going to Sin City to record. "I ended up in this city where I've had some of my greatest failures and worst decision making, and some of my biggest debacles of my life happened in Vegas, you know," he said. "And I believe I was sent back to that city to go do right this time, and we went there and I just faced that fear of living in this city that I felt was gonna eat me alive. But really and truly I just gave myself to this music 100 percent, and that's what pulled me through."
Shaddix admitted that the band went into the studio this time with almost no new material prepared, explaining, "Usually when we begin working, we'll have a bunch of demos, and I'll have a bag of lyrics ready to go. We didn't have those things this time."
Guitarist Jerry Horton added, "We walked into the studio with nothing. It was frightening since it was so different, but it was also liberating. Once the ball started rolling, it was a snowball effect."
PAPA ROACH has just entered the studio to begin writing material for its ninth album, tentatively due later in the year.

TEMPLETON PEK Release “Damage Control” Video"Damage Control" is the new video taken from British three piece Templeton Pek’s 4th studio album New Horizons recorded in Los Angeles, and released by LA based Hardline Entertainment.
“The song itself is about capitalizing on bad situations and using them as a benefit, coming out of that limbo space, as well as being in control of of your own destiny. It is based on a real experience from us during the album previous to New Horizons and issues we were going through within the industry at the time, and people in our inner circle no less.
“We felt like a lot of control had been taken from us and we weren’t represented how we wanted to be, things very nearly came to a head and a lot of negative things came from it, but we started writing this album which helped the situation and ultimately gave us some great songs with depth. But like most things in life this can be applied to anything.” - Neal Mitchell-Bass/Vocals
New Horizons was recorded by Ken Seaton at The Porch in Hermosa Beach, CA. Mixed by Cameron Webb at Maple Studio in Santa Ana, CA.
Templeton Pek will start a European tour with Millencolin tomorrow. Ticket info can be found at Ticketmaster .

CULT OF LUNA: New Song 'A Greater Call' Available For StreamingWith their mind-melting eighth epos, CULT OF LUNA and Julie Christmas bring you to the outer rim of the ever expanding boundaries of the cosmos — where the rules of man is not applicable and the cold, dark nothing envelops the harsh realities of the universe.
"Mariner" will be released on April 8 via Indie Recordings. A track from the album, "A Greater Call", can be streamed below.
Since its formation in 1998, CULT OF LUNA has released seven albums, been awarded the top rock/ metal award at the Swedish national radio awards and cemented their status as one of the true progressors of the metal genre, respected by most metal aficionados.
In 2013, the Swedes teamed up with Indie Recordings for the release of perhaps their most successful work to date in the shape of "Vertikal I" and "Vertikal II". These cohesive pieces of work received worldwide appraisal and only pillared CULT OF LUNA to even greater heights.
For their eight effort, the post-metal pioneers join forces with the talented Julie Christmas (BATTLE OF MICE, MADE OUT OF BABIES) from Brooklyn, whom bring an even larger depth to CULT OF LUNA's sound — powerfully displayed on "Mariner". 6

INFERNAL CURSE Announce New Album Apocalipsis, “Litanies Unto Djinn” Track StreamingAt long last, Infernal Curse has revealed their second album, Apocalipsis, set for international release on February 26th via Iron Bonehead Productions. The new track "Litanies Unto Djinn" is streaming below. Hailing from the oft-overlooked scene of Argentina, Infernal Curse are a study in patience and defiance. Forming in 2008, early on, the band's sound was strictly within the blown-out blackened thrash characteristic of South America's most-underground metal, culminating in the clattering 'n' chaotic Awakening of the Damned debut LP in 2012. However, it was with the Iron Bonehead-released mini-album The End Upon Us in 2014 where Infernal Curse truly found their stride. Reigning in the chaos for a more pulsing form of barbarity, the power-trio were as violent and virulent as ever, but pushed the still-overwhelming physicality into the beyond.
A press release states: “Now, with Apocalipsis, Infernal Curse have pushed beyond The Beyond. Soul-devouring yet ceremonial, hideous yet hypnotic, molten in its sheer crushing weight but effortlessly cruising along a wavelength too frightening to perceive, this is bestial metal taken to its psychedelic extremes. Explosions of subharmonic riff, drums driven with animalistic abandon, sepulchral voices plumbing the depths of the abyss, and mind-melted leads divebombing into and out of the metaphysical carnage: all the rudiments are essentially the same, but the destination in which all these diseased, doom-draped decibels are heading toward resides on a far more spiritual plane. One could qualify it as ‘ritualistic,’ and one would be right; one could also argue that there are layers beneath these layers, and that one would also be right. It's this paradox between profundity and crudity which elevates Apocalipsis above the mongrel hordes mindlessly battering away to the same well-worn, black/white/red-all-over Blasphemy tropes and suggests an indeed more elevated approach to the bestial arts.”

“Sin Of Iblis”
“Nasheed Al Mut”
