CANDLEBOX To Release

CANDLEBOX To Release 'Disappearing In Airports' Album; Listen To First Single 'Vexatious'

CANDLEBOX, the influential rock band from the powerful '90s Seattle music movement, returns with its long-overdue sixth album, "Disappearing In Airports", on April 22 via Pavement Entertainment. The CD showcases the group's introspective and poetically candid songwriting with their signature musical immediacy. The first single, "Vexatious", is being released to radio on February 2, with digital pre-orders for the album starting on February 5.

"Disappearing In Airports" will be available on all digital platforms (iTunes, Amazon, YouTubeRed, Spotify, Pandora, Apple Music) and is distributed by MRI/Sony RED. To listen to "Vexatious", click here. "'Vexatious' is about the social networking-obsessed, unlimited bragging rights society we live in, where people come off as entitled yet so insecure," says frontman Kevin Martin. "Whether it's a pop star feuding senselessly with another pop star, or people who can't help but to take 50 different selfies in under a minute missing everything that's happening around them, it's a sad commentary on life that we can't escape. Dating apps, bitching apps, secret sharing apps, apps apps apps — they all operate outside of any real or authentic human connection. It's disconnect everywhere and it's destroying us. No one cares what anyone else thinks or feels. It's all 'me, me, me' and, if you ask me, it's fucking sad." Formed in Seattle in 1991, CANDLEBOX went quadruple platinum with their 1993 self-titled debut and released two more acclaimed and top-selling albums (1995's "Lucy" and 1998's "Happy Pills") before going on a hiatus in 2000. CANDLEBOX regrouped with a 2006 tour, then put out "Into The Sun" in 2008, followed by 2012's "Love Stories & Other Musings".

For "Disappearing In Airports", the band worked with producers Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland (AUGUST BURNS RED, EVERCLEAR, RIVERS OF NIHIL), cutting the record at Think Loud Studios in York, Pennsylvania. With Martin, Dave Krusen on drums, Adam Kury on bass and the addition of guitarists Mike Leslie and Brian Quinn, the recommitment to creating music that is "pissed and urgent" as well as bringing a new energy to the live show is at this record's core. CANDLEBOX will be embarking on a string of acoustic dates in January and February, with a world tour kicking off in April, including performances at festivals such as Lollapalooza Chile, Welcome To Rockville and Carolina Rebellion.

SERENITY Releases

SERENITY Releases 'Spirit In The Flesh' Video

European symphonic metallers SERENITY will release their fifth album, "Codex Atlanticus", on January 29 via Napalm Records. According to a press release, the CD boasts thrilling storytelling about art and science. Leonardo Da Vinci is the center of attention here, but lovers of conspiracy theories, Illuminati and so forth will also rejoice when mastermind Georg Neuhauser gives free rein to his compositional genius. This album is full of monumental, movie score-ish orchestral arrangements mean riffing and lush melodies."

The official video for the song "Spirit In The Flesh" can be seen below. Commented the band: "After three months of hard work, 150 unhealthy McDonalds meals and 200 bottles of Jägermeister, we're done — our fifth full-length album, 'Codex Atlanticus', is ready to conquer the universe! Inspired by the life of Leonardo Da Vinci we created a bombastic album with melodies that can easily fit as a soundtrack for 'Game Of Thrones'!" "Codex Atlanticus" track listing:

01. Codex Atlanticus02. Follow Me03. Sprouts Of Terror04. Iniquity05. Reason06. My Final Chapter07. Caught In A Myth08. Fate Of Light09. The Perfect Woman10. Spirit In The Flesh11. The Order SERENITY will hit the road with labelmates in XANDRIA for an extensive European tour in February.

SERENITY parted ways with female singer Clémentine Delauney in February 2015 — two years after she joined the band as a full member. The group explained in a statement: "Though we have worked with female voices since our second album, we think that we have pushed this aspect far enough with our latest album, [2013's] 'War Of Ages'. Though we love to add different voices to Georg's one, we no longer think these moments will be significant enough to justifiy to have a female singer within our ranks."

Video Premiere: STEEL PANTHER

Video Premiere: STEEL PANTHER's 'Death To All But Metal' From 'Live From Lexxi's Mom's Garage'

"Death To All But Metal", the new performance video from Los Angeles glam-metal jokesters STEEL PANTHER, can be seen below. The track is taken from "Live From Lexxi's Mom's Garage", the band's first full-length film featuring a live ten-song acoustic concert interspersed with comedic vignettes showcasing the band's unmatched shenanigans and debauchery. The album and film will be released on CD and CD/DVD by STEEL PANTHER's label Open E Records via Kobalt Label Services, on February 26 but pre-orders are available now at store.steelpantherrocks.com.

For the uninitiated, STEEL PANTHER was formed in 2000 and is Michael Starr (lead singer), Satchel (guitarist), Lexxi Foxx (bass) and Stix Zadinia (drums). "Live From Lexxi's Mom's Garage" was taped in Los Angeles last October in front of a live audience of scantily clad woman (and one old creepy fat guy who somehow got a ticket) inside the uncharacteristically large and professionally lit garage of Ms. Foxx (Bobbie Brown), who coincidentally also happens to be the mother of Lexxi Foxx. The musical portions of the film feature the band performing acoustic versions of their most popular songs such as "Party Like Tomorrow Is The End Of The World" and "Community Property" as well as one new song titled "Then You Came In". Several female violin players who are "very easy on the eyes," says Stix, are featured and lay through the various hits with the band. Between songs, the film follows the mischievousness of STEEL PANTHER as they figure out who they can and cannot sleep with; and as they navigate the world as the biggest glam rock band that never was from 1985, in 2016. "It was so much fun playing our songs on these new wooden guitars in my mom's garage!" said Lexxi Fox. "Satchel says that he might be my new dad, but I'm not really sure what that means!" he added. STEEL PANTHER recently wrapped its "Well Hungover" North American headlining tour and started a new residency at the famed Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles on January 7 and House of Blues Las Vegas. Last year, the band sold out headlining tours in the U.K. and South America.

"Live From Lexxi's Mom's Garage" track listing:

01. Show Intro/Say Yeah!02. Party Like Tomorrow Is The End Of The World03. Fat Girl (Thar She Blows) 04. If You Really, Really Love Me 05. Gloryhole 06. Bukkake Tears 07. The Burden Of Being Wonderful 08. Weenie Ride 09. That's When You Came In10. Michael Don't Know11. Community Property 12. Grindy And Sexy 13. Death To All But Metal

STEEL PANTHER's third album, "All You Can Eat", sold around 13,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 24 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD arrived in stores on April 1, 2014 via Open E/KLS.

ROYAL HUNT To Release

ROYAL HUNT To Release 'Cargo' Live Album

Frontiers Music Srl will release ROYAL HUNT's new live album, titled "Cargo", on March 18.

Following the release of their latest studio album, "Devil's Dozen", ROYAL HUNT participated in three widely known festivals around the globe in the fall of 2015: ProgPower USA, Loud Park (Japan) and Rockingham (U.K.). They performed their energetic brand of symphonic/progressive yet highly melodic and instantly accessible "royal rock" for thousands of appreciative fans.

While ROYAL HUNT's next tour — set to the spring of 2016 — is being announced, the band found the time to gather in the studio and pick out the best performances recorded during their festival trek: an hour and a half of ROYAL HUNT's trademark sonic assault, skillfully captured on tape.

Why live album and why now? "Well, mostly because we haven't released any live recordings for roughly ten years or so," says keyboard maestro and principal songwriter André Andersen. "'2006' was great and many fans consider it to be our best (some will pick '1996' or 'Closing The Chapter' as their favorite) but anyway — it's been awhile, so we assumed that it might be interesting for you to check out our 'new swing' at this live set. Just think about it: last time we recorded 'Paradox' live was almost 20 years ago! Add a few new songs, the excitement of the festival performance, a couple of new faces to the lineup and — all of a sudden — things are sounding quite a bit different. We'd say it sounds fresh but let's see what your opinion on this matter will be."

"Cargo" includes a complete rendition of ROYAL HUNT's signature concept album "Paradox".

ROYAL HUNT has released 13 studio albums and the band's name stands for quality symphonic/progressive metal.

"Cargo" track listing:

CD1

01. The Mission02. Half Past Loneliness03. River Of Pain04. Tearing Down The World05. Message To G-D06. Long Way Home

CROWBAR To Begin Recording New Album In February

CROWBAR To Begin Recording New Album In February

New Orleans sludge metal veterans CROWBAR will enter OCD Recording And Production in Metairie, Louisiana with engineer/producer Duane Simoneaux on February 17 to begin recording the follow-up to 2014's "Symmetry In Black" album. A summer release is expected.

CROWBAR guitarist/vocalist Kirk Windstein recently told the "Thunder Underground" podcast that he hoped the band's next album would come together more quickly than "Symmetry In Black", which was delayed by scheduling conflicts. He explained: "The last album was kind of difficult, because Jeff [Golden, bass] was just coming in. He didn't know the back catalogue. We had a tour set up, so we we had to concentrate with him more [on] learning the setlist and rehearsing that. So in the middle of rehearsing the setlist to go on tour, as well as trying to write at the same time, really, four of the songs were kind of written in the studio. And we lucked out and they came out great, but it doesn't always work that way."

He continued: "We had a lot of interruptions as well. Like idiots, we booked the studio from, like, December 16, and, of course, a few days later it's holiday time for everybody. And our engineer, Duane Simoneaux, his wife had a child during the studio thing and a new baby; it was, like, their third kid. We didn't realize we'd be breaking for Christmas, breaking for New Year's. We did a fly-in date in Chicago. We come back, get everything rolling, and Duane's new baby's born, and that's a week off. We just didn't think it out. So this time, hopefully, with no interruption and proper preparation, when we get in the fucking studio, we can knock the shit out."

"Symmetry In Black" sold around 3,900 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 68 on The Billboard 200 chart.

CROWBAR's previous CD, 2011's "Sever The Wicked Hand", opened with around 3,500 units to land at position No. 4 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

"Symmetry In Black" came out in North America on May 27, 2014 via Entertainment One Music. The CD, which was made available in Europe on May 26, 2014 through Century Media Records, was produced by Windstein and Duane Simoneaux and was mixed by Josh Wilbur (LAMB OF GOD, GOJIRA).

ROB ZOMBIE: Listen To New Single

ROB ZOMBIE: Listen To New Single 'Well, Everybody's F**king In A U.F.O.'

Rob Zombie's new album, "The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser", will be released on April 29 via UMe/T-Boy Records. The CD was produced by Chris "Zeuss" Harris and features Zombie alongside guitarist John 5, bassist Piggy D and drummer Ginger Fish.

The album's first single, "Well, Everybody's Fucking In A U.F.O.", made its radio debut earlier today and can be streamed in full at the SiriusXM blog.

Says Rob Zombie: "This album is the best thing we've done to date, and we can't wait to share it with you. No, we mean it. It's the most fucked up thing we've ever done.

"We spent so much time putting this monster together and it's been worth it because this thing is about to explode!

"The album is out on April 29th, but there is a lot of shit going on in the lead-up to the release, so check out the pre-sale, get involved in the discussions and check back here for updates regularly! This bitch is moving forward FAST, and it's a train you don't want to fucking miss.

"Oh, and if you don't believe how fucked up this album is, take a look at the track listing below. Shit gets weird."

"The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser" track listing:

01. The Last Of The Demons Defeated02. Satanic Cyanide! The Killer Rocks On!03. The Life And Times Of A Teenage Rock God04. Well, Everybody's Fucking In A U.F.O.05. A Hearse Overturns With The Coffin Bursting Open06. The Hideous Exhibitions Of A Dedicated Gore Whore07. Medication For The Melancholy08. In The Age Of The Consecrated Vampire We All Get High09. Super-Doom-Hex-Gloom Part One10. In The Bone Pile11. Get Your Boots On! That's The End Of Rock And Roll12. Wurdalak

Rob Zombie spoke to Louder Noise about why he has held back the release of his new album even though the record was completed months ago. Zombie said: "It'll probably come out in [the spring], because what I wanna do is I wanna do a very large visual component to go with the record — shoot thirteen videos, or shoot a movie go with it. And because of [Zombie's upcoming sixth live-action feature film, a horror thriller called] '31', I couldn't get to that yet. So I'm gonna do that probably in January, so we'll put it out soon after that."

He continued: "I love it. I mean, I really like the record. The last record was my favorite record in a long time. 'Cause I had kind of hit a low with making records. It just kind of got boring; I hated being in the studio, and I kind of got reinspired on the last record. And this sort of follows up on it. So I think that, much like '31'… You just have those things in your career where you're, like, they all can't be the best one. With records, sometimes you have those moments where you can tell, 'This one's special.' And that's how it feels."

Zombie told Loudwire that the follow-up to 2013's "Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor" was recorded over the course of a year, with the band working for a few weeks, taking a break for a few months, then coming back. He said, "We were living with it for a long time, and it really — I think it made the record so much better."

Although Rob spends a lot of time making movies, he told The Pulse Of Radio a while back he's not ready to quit music yet. He said: "People go, 'How long can you do this, how long do you want to do this?' I want to do it as long as it's fun, because that's what it's supposed to be. I mean, I don't need the money, so I don't have to drag my ass out on tour just to make money. I'm all good there, so if it's not fun, it's nothing, it's just stupid, you know. And when you're not having fun, you're not gonna do good work. You're gonna seem like a miserable guy who's just doing it for the money, and I just never wanted to do that."

Current And Former MEGADETH Members ELLEFSON, YOUNG And DEGRASSO Join Forces At MONTROSE Tribute Concert

Current And Former MEGADETH Members ELLEFSON, YOUNG And DEGRASSO Join Forces At MONTROSE Tribute Concert

Current MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson was joined by the band's former members Jeff Young (guitar) and Jimmy DeGrasso (drums) for the "Bad Motor Scooter" finale at the "Ronnie Montrose Remembered" memorial celebration on January 23 at the Observatory in Santa Ana, California. Also appearing on stage for the track were Keith St. John (MONTROSE), Brad Gillis (NIGHT RANGER), Gilby Clarke (GUNS N' ROSES) and Doug Aldrich (WHITESNAKE). Check out fan-filmed video footage below.

Guitar Player magazine presented its second annual "RockThe Nation" award to the winning young prodigy guitarist this year at this event. Guitar Player started this award in Ronnie's name because of Ronnie's love of kids and teens music education along with his love of discovering new talent. The event was attended by Ronnie's wife and also featured rare video footage of the man in action.

Ronnie Montrose was a true pioneer of the electric guitar and was highly gifted and visionary in his craft. Ronnie helped influence generations of rock 'n' roll guitar players many of which have gone on to influence their own fans and followers worldwide. His career began in the early 1970s when he recorded and toured with artists such as Van Morrison, Boz Scaggs, and THE EDGAR WINTER GROUP. In 1973 he formed the band MONTROSE featuring singer Sammy Hagar, drummer Denny Carmassi and bassist Bill Church. The press hailed the new band as "America's answer to LED ZEPPELIN." The first MONTROSE record produced by Ted Templeman is still widely considered one of the most iconic and influential rock albums of all time.

HELLYEAH: Teaser For

HELLYEAH: Teaser For 'We're All In This Together' Concert DVD

A teaser for HELLYEAH's forthcoming concert DVD, apparently titled "We're All In This Together", is available below. The footage was shot last year while the band was on tour in Australia.

HELLYEAH recently posted a short studio teaser for its forthcoming fifth album along with the hashtag #HUMAN, which is likely the title the CD's first single.

The group's new album was recorded atThe Hideout Recording Studio in Las Vegas, Nevada with producer Kevin Churko, who previously worked with HELLYEAH on 2014's "Blood For Blood" effort.

HELLYEAH guitarist, Tom Maxwell recently stated about the band's upcoming CD: "It's all coming along great. There's a lot of new stuff coming out that we've never tried before, and a lot of heavy shit."

He continued: "It's gonna be moody, it's gonna be dark, it's gonna be crushing, it's gonna be heartbreaking, it's gonna be everything. So it's gonna be a proper take-off from our last record, but with a lot of new surprises, I think. And just kind of moving forward with the path that we've taken with 'Blood For Blood'. So it's coming along great… It's gonna be a really, really savage album, and I'm really excited. I can't wait for you all to hear it."

"Blood For Blood", was the band's first release since parting ways with guitarist Greg Tribbett and bassist Bob "Zilla" Kahaha in 2013.

The new members of HELLYEAH are bassist Kyle Sanders and guitarist Christian Brady.

"Blood For Blood" sold around 17,000 copies in its first week of release to land at No. 18 on the Billboard chart.

TESLA

TESLA's FRANK HANNON Pays Tribute To DAVID BOWIE With 'Space Oddity' Performance (Video)

TESLA guitarist Frank Hannon paid tribute to David Bowie by performing the song "Space Oddity" aboard DEF LEPPARD's inaugural "Hysteria On The High Seas" this past weekend. Check out fan-filmed video footage below.

Bowie died earlier this month, two days after his 69th birthday.

Bowie died just three days after releasing his 25th studio album, "Blackstar".

The singer, songwriter, actor and fashion icon reportedly kept his 18-month battle with cancer so private that even close friends weren't aware of his struggle.

Belgian theatre director Ivo van Hove, who worked with David on the "Lazarus" Broadway production, told DutchNews that Bowie told him he had liver cancer, because he needed him to know he would be too sick to attend rehearsals. "He said that because he knew that he may not always be able to be around," Ivo van Hove told DutchNews.

"Bowie was still writing on his deathbed, you could say," Ivo told the site. "I saw a man fighting. He fought like a lion and kept working like a lion through it all. I had incredible respect for that."

Just a month before his death, David attended the premiere of "Lazarus" in New York City in what turned out to be one of his last public appearances.

FRANK HANNON BAND's latest album, "World Peace", is available at FrankHannon.com.

BURY TOMORROW Streaming “301” Track Featuring HATEBREED’s JAMEY JASTA; Release Third Earthbound Trailer Explaining Favorite Songs On The Album

Bury Tomorrow has released the third video trailer for their brand new album Earthbound with the guys talking about their favorite songs on the album. Watch all three trailers below.

Furthermore, the band is streaming a new song “301”, featuring a guest appearance by Hatebreed’s Jamey Jasta.

Part 1:

Part 2:

Part 3:

Earthbound is released on January 29th on Nuclear Blast. Pre-orders are available via the links below:

Physical (CD/LP)

At a time when modern metal is so slavishly led by the following of whatever fashion carousel is popular this week, rare are the bands who find success on their own, gimmick-free terms. A decade into their career, Southampton/Portsmouth quintet Bury Tomorrow are, by whatever yardstick you want to measure it, one such band.

With an ethos which has never wavered from a threefold focus on unswerving passion, unrelenting hard work and remorselessly driving, slash ’n’ burn riffola, Bury Tomorrow have hauled themselves into a position as one of the UK’s premiere purveyors of mosh by the sheer force of their own will. 2014’s Runes saw a veritable dam-break for the band, a UK rock chart number one and top 40 success in the mainstream, it was a record that enabled them to take their devastating live show to festival main stages across Europe and the UK, before finally culminating in a headline tour which saw the band playing to 1400 braying fans at a sold out London KOKO.

Now though, with Earthbound, they have stepped things up yet another gear.

“To me, Earthbound feels like the distillation of everything we’ve ever wanted this band to be about,” says frontman Dani Winter-Bates. “Our first three records are kind of part of their own trilogy but this is Bury Tomorrow’s record, we all see this as our chance to show people what we are capable of.”

Certainly Earthbound finds BT on more concise form that ever before: ten tracks that get in, batter you across the face, and get out again with precious little time for respite or caught breath. Hardcore mentality for a metalcore generation.

“A big thing for us this time around was to get down to the real nitty gritty of what our fans wanted from us and how to give them without wasting a single second,” continues Dani. “With Earthbound we wanted pace, we wanted heaviness, and for me, personally, I wanted to write a record which was the sonic embodiment of a circle pit. I think we’ve done that.”

With notable influences ranging from axe-slinging New Wave Of American Heavy Metallers Unearth and Darkest Hour to the apoplectic fury of Terror and Madball, this is one that will get the pit spinning with consummate ease.

But while fans of the heavy stuff will find plenty to grasp onto here, it’s the now trademark interplay between Dani and guitarist and vocalist Jason Cameron which sets Earthbound apart. “It’s much more mature in the interplay between me and Jason,” Dani notes. “We’ve been playing together for ten years now and it feels like we have an almost telepathic understanding of one another. We’ve always wanted to be like one vocalist in two parts and I think we’ve achieved that here.”

One listen to the sky-scraping euphoria of “Last Light” or the call-to-arms swagger of the title track will tell you that Dani isn’t lying: monstrous anthems from a band who are coming of age as a truly astonishing force of musical nature. Elsewhere, ‘301’s chastising punch sees Hatebreed’s Jamey Jasta lending his iron lungs to proceedings to devastating effect.

“More than anything that song is about how our music belongs to our fans first, those first 301 people who run to Youtube who want to check it out and are excited about it. It’s kind of a ‘fuck you’ to all those people who go ‘Bury Tomorrow aren’t proper metal’ or whatever. It’s Jamey fucking Jasta and I know our fans are going to love it.”

It’s that focus on their fan base which has made BT not only one of the best, but one of the most well-loved bands working in the UK today, and, in Dani, one of the most charismatic frontmen imaginable.

With Earthbound looming on the horizon, Bury Tomorrow’s fortunes look set to go through the roof and all the hard work pay off in spades..

“Where we are now is where we’ve always wanted to be,” smiles Dani. “And now we’re in the position to truly deliver on what we’ve promised so far. We aren’t going to let anyone down.”

“Last Light”

Japanese deathmongers Coffins and Baltimore heavyweights Ilsa have announced a new split release due out via Relapse Records. CRIMINAL Reveal Details For New Album Fear Itself; Launch Single “Down Driven”

CRIMINAL Reveal Details For New Album Fear Itself; Launch Single “Down Driven”

Anglo-chilean thrashers Criminal have announced their new full-length, Fear Itself, due out March 11th worldwide via Metal Blade Records. The first single, "Down Driven" is streaming below. Preorder bundles are available at Metal Blade.

Criminal comments: "Everyone who's heard the new album agrees that it is our most pissed-off sounding record to date. We didn't try to make it more brutal, but that's the way it came out. We just let the metal flow. I think having Sergio in the band has something to do with it, because, as a longtime fan of the band, he told us when certain things seemed unnecessary. In fact, all but one of the songs are under four minutes long. Straight to the point, quick and painful.
In terms of style, we didn't really plan anything, we just wrote the riffs that came to our minds. So there's a bit of thrash, hardcore and death metal, but also some classic heavy metal. All the stuff that we love put through a blender. And the end result sounds like Criminal. It's hard to define, but I think a long time ago we created our own sound, and every new album ends up sounding like that."

Recorded at Criminal bassist Danny Biggin's HVR Studios in Suffolk, UK, with a "no bullshit" approach to recording, the band purposely avoided the vices of modern metal production such as samples, quantizing and amp simulators. The striking artwork by renowned Romanian artist Costin Chioreanu (At The Gates, Arch Enemy, Mayhem) perfectly represents the bleak, dystopian atmosphere of the lyrics, which denounce warmongering, misinformation, exploitation and other ills of modern society. A metal band with a hardcore attitude, Criminal's longevity is a testament to their honesty and passion; they're in it for all the right reasons.

Tracklisting:

“Down Driven”
“False Flag Attack”
“Shock Doctrine”
“The Needle And Knife”

WORMFOOT Streaming New Track “Eat, Sleep, Consume, Obey”

WORMFOOT Streaming New Track “Eat, Sleep, Consume, Obey”

Lansing, MI-based stoner/doom/crust metallers, Wormfoot, are streaming their new track, “Eat, Sleep, Consume, Obey” (listen below).

When bored musicians trapped in Lansing, MI smoke too much weed, while listening to Black Sabbath on vinyl, this is what happens...

Wormfoot was created by Uriah Baker (The Goddamn Gallows) and Jay Goldsmith (The Devil’s Cut) in the summer of 2011 as an outlet for their desires to play something heavy. While their main projects lie with The Goddamn Gallows and The Devil’s Cut, Wormfoot has quickly become more than just an outlet to get out the members’ metal urges.

Originally, the band started as a two-piece doom project (drums/vox and guitar), but after the foundations were set, two more members were added and the sound began to change. James Hunnicutt came in on bass guitar and later Derek Vaive (The Devil’s Cut) took over the drumming duties, leaving Uriah to do what he does best - screaming hateful satanic messages. From what was once simply a stoner/doom group has now become a mix of multiple metal genres across the board. No one is entirely certain as to what one can or should label this beast, but one thing is for sure… it is evil, catchy, and heavier than Hell.

MEGADETH

MEGADETH's DAVE MUSTAINE Is Reconsidering His Decision To Never Play 'The Conjuring' Again

MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine says that he is reconsidering his decision to never play the band's 1986 song "The Conjuring" again, explaining that he wouldn't mind reintroducing the track at MEGADETH's live shows "as long as it doesn't hurt anybody."

Mustaine wrote in his autobiography, "Mustaine: A Heavy Metal Memoir", that he practiced black magic as a teenager, and that the experience — which inspired "The Conjuring" — affected his life for years after.

Speaking to "The Morning Blaze With Gus & Izzy" show on the Fresno radio station 105.1 The Blaze, Mustaine was asked about his refusal to play "The Conjuring" at MEGADETH's concerts. He said (hear audio below): "I used to do black magic when I was a kid, and I put a hex on a dude and his leg kind of got messed up. The other one was I put a sex hex on this girl and the next night she was in my bed, so I think that it worked."

He continued: "But the funny thing [is] Chis Adler [current MEGADETH drummer] just said, 'Hey, dude, can we re-record 'The Conjuring' with different lyrics?' And I was, like, 'Nah. You know what? Maybe I should re-think this whole thing.' Because when I first did the whole, 'You know what? I'm not gonna be a heathen anymore. I'm gonna clean up my life' thing, I kind of put some brakes on things I would and wouldn't do. And as I grow, I evolve in my outlook and my personal journey here, being a positive person and being a positive influence on other people's lives. So as long as it doesn't hurt anybody, I wouldn't mind doing the song again, 'cause it is a good song."

Mustaine previously spoke about his reluctance to perform "The Conjuring" during a 2011 interview with U.K.'s Total Guitar magazine. He stated at the time: "Performance-wise, 'The Conjuring' is one of the heaviest songs on [MEGADETH's 'Peace Sells… But Who's Buying?' album], but, unfortunately, it's got black magic in it and I promised that I wouldn't play it anymore, because there's a lot of instructions for hexes in that song. Although it seems kinda corny, anybody who's a Wiccan or a warlock or anything like that will know that all of that stuff is instrumental."

He continued: "When I got into black magic I put a couple of spells on people when I was a teenager and it haunted me forever, and I've had so much torment. People say, 'Goddamn, Dave never gets a break, he's had such a hard life,' and I just think, 'No, Dave didn't — he got into black magic and it ruined his life.' It wasn't that I was a bad guy or that I had a big mouth, it was that I got into witchcraft and black magic and it ruined my life. Fortunately for me, with all the work and the love of my friends, and not giving up with my guitar playing, I got over it. So I look back now and I think, "Hmm, I don't wanna play 'The Conjuring'."

Mustaine went on to say: "When I first got saved, I was really scared and I was basically holding on to anything that I heard in church or whatever, but as I've grown I've learned a lot and lightened up a lot, and I see people around me doing certain things and instead of me saying, 'Man, you shouldn't do that!' I think quietly to myself, 'Dude, you don't know what you're doing…' It's a huge growth process."

MEGADETH's fifteenth studio album, "Dystopia", will be released on January 22. The follow-up to 2013's "Super Collider" was recorded last year year in Nashville, Tennessee and was mixed by Josh Wilbur, who has previously worked with LAMB OF GOD, ALL THAT REMAINS and GOJIRA.

LAST IN LINE Singer ANDREW FREEMAN Pays Tribute To

LAST IN LINE Singer ANDREW FREEMAN Pays Tribute To 'Close Friend And Mentor' JIMMY BAIN

LAST IN LINE singer Andrew Freeman has paid tribute to legendary bassist Jimmy Bain saying that he "will be forever indebted to this man for the encouraging spirit he graced me with."

Bain, along with drummer Vinny Appice and guitarist Vivian Campbell, was part of the original DIO lineup, which reunited in 2012 alongside Freeman to form LAST IN LINE.

Bain died over the weekend at the age of 68. He passed away while the DIO offshoot band LAST IN LINE was taking part in DEF LEPPARD's "Hysteria On The High Seas" cruise. No cause of death has been revealed, although it has been reported that he was ill for some time.

Writing on his Facebook page, Freeman said: "As I am sure you all have heard, we lost our friend and bandmate Jimmy Bain over the weekend.

"I have had the pleasure of knowing Jimmy for about 10 years through a few music projects and our recent band, LAST IN LINE.

"I cannot stress the level of sadness and loss that I feel losing such a close friend and mentor. Jimmy, along with Vivian Campbell and Vinny Appice, welcomed me into their intimate artistic circle, entrusting me the responsibility of performing a legendary library of music and building a new one. I will be forever indebted to this man for the encouraging spirit he graced me with.

"Rest easy, my friend. I will do my best to carry on your legacy.

LAST IN LINE will release its debut album, "Heavy Crown", on February 19 via Frontiers Music Srl. The CD was recorded at a Southern California studio with producer Jeff Pilson, a veteran bassist who has played with DIO, FOREIGNER, DOKKEN and T&N, among others.

RICHARD FORTUS And DIZZY REED Exit THE DEAD DAISIES To Take Part In

RICHARD FORTUS And DIZZY REED Exit THE DEAD DAISIES To Take Part In 'Momentous Project'

Guitarist Richard Fortus and keyboardist Dizzy Reed have left THE DEAD DAISIES, leading to speculation that they will be part of the reunited GUNS N' ROSES lineup.

Fortus and Reed exited THE DEAD DAISIES in order to take part in "a momentous project in 2016," THE DEAD DAISIES said in a statement.

THE DEAD DAISIES have commenced work on a new album with producer Marti Frederiksen in Nashville for a late 2016 release. Joining bassist Marco Mendoza, guitarist David Lowy, singer John Corabi and drummer Brian Tichy in the studio is former WHITESNAKE and DIO guitarist Doug Aldrich.

Lowy says: "It's been a privilege and a pleasure to write, record and perform with such talented world-class musicians and all-around great guys. I've personally learned so much from both of them.

"We're very excited to announce Doug Aldrich will be joining THE DEAD DAISIES in the lead guitar role. Doug was Richard's first pick to replace him. He's a highly accomplished musician, performer and songwriter and we're really looking forward to Doug joining us as THE DEAD DAISIES adventure rolls on."

Aldrich says: "I'm very, very happy to join my friends Marco, Brian, John and David in the next chapter of THE DEAD DAISIES. I love the band and I'm looking forward to getting busy on the new record.

"This band is bringing back a raw, back to the bones sound that a lot of groups go for but THE DEAD DAISIES are looking to nail. At this point in time, we are looking to have a kick-ass rock 'n roll album in the can by spring 2016."

Fortus adds: "When we started speaking about finding someone to replace me, the first suggestion I had was Doug Aldrich. It doesn't get any better than Doug in my book. I am so happy that he is able and willing to step in and take over. I think that it will elevate the band to the next level.

"Thanks to everyone that has supported the DAISIES over the last couple of years. Stay tuned to see what they come up with next. I'm sure you won't be disappointed."

GUNS N' ROSES has announced four headlining performances in April, with original members Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan the only members confirmed so far.

The rest of the lineup for the shows — and a potential tour later in the year — remains unclear, although keyboardist Chris Pitman, Reed, drummer Frank Ferrer and Fortus are all believed to be involved.

The status of original members Izzy Stradlin and Steven Adler remains unknown, along with that of "Use Your Illusion"-era drummer Matt Sorum.

ARCH ENEMY

ARCH ENEMY's MICHAEL AMOTT: 'I'd Rather Make An Album When We Have Something To Say As A Band'

Jose Mangin, SiriusXM on-air host (Liquid Metal, Ozzy's Boneyard, Octane), conducted an interview with ARCH ENEMY guitarist Michael Amott at the Dean Guitars booth at this year's NAMM show in Anaheim, California. You can now watch the chat below.

Asked about ARCH ENEMY's plans for the coming months, Amott said: "We're kind of slowing down a bit. We just did put out a new album in 2014 called 'War Eternal', and it did very, very well for us all over the world, and we just completed a three-hundred -date world tour. So three hundred shows is a lot, and we're kind of feeling… We're slowing down a little bit now. We're kind of gonna take a bit of a break and, yeah, just write some new music… I always write music. There's bits and pieces floating around on various laptops and phones and just up here [points to his head]. So, yeah, we're gonna try to put that all together. But, you know, I'd rather make an album when we have something to say as a band. I just don't wanna be on a schedule and like, 'It's gotta be out by that time next year,' and work towards… I'd rather have good music and then start thinking about making a new album."

"War Eternal" sold around 8,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to enter The Billboard 200 chart at position No. 44. The CD was released on June 10, 2014 in North America via Century Media Records. The cover artwork was created by Costin Chioreanu.

ARCH ENEMY in November 2014 parted ways with guitarist Nick Cordle and replaced him with former NEVERMORE axeman Jeff Loomis. Loomis made his live debut with ARCH ENEMY on the band's fall 2014 European tour.

The tour edition of "War Eternal" contains "Stolen Life (2015 Version)", featuring additional leads by Loomis as a bonus track as well as a DVD including an intense live set filmed in Korea plus all official videos.

DEFTONES Confirm

DEFTONES Confirm 'Gore' Album Title, Tease New Song

DEFTONES have released a short teaser video for their new album, "Gore", due on April 8 via Warner Bros. Records. Check it out below.

During a November 2015 interiew with BBC Radio 1's "Rock Show", DEFTONES frontman Chino Moreno stated about "vibe" of the band's long-awaited follow-up to 2012's "Koi No Yokan": "I can't really compare it to our last couple of records. I mean, those two records were done in a very similar manner where we locked ourselves in a room for a short period of time and wrote and recorded it. And therefore, I feel like we sort of really captured this moment in time, and the records sort of sound cohesive because of that. This record was done sort of over a year, spread out over these little, tiny writing sections. So it sounds a bit more fragmented, but in a good way. I mean, I feel like you put on one song and it's completely different from the song after it, or previous to it. So it's not like we had this one main idea and we went in and we sort of went with that vibe. I mean, the vibe's sort of all over the place. So, like any DEFTONES record, I mean, it's got dynamics and there's loud aggressiveness and there's mellowness to it, but it's all sort of got an ebb and flow to it. I don't know… It'd be hard for me to just put it in words exactly what it sounds like. It's definitely a DEFTONES record. The way I look at it is it's a gradual step from where we last were."

According to Moreno, sixteen songs were written for DEFTONES' new CD, which was once again produced by Matt Hyde (SLAYER, CHILDREN OF BODOM, MONSTER MAGNET, WINDS OF PLAGUE). The effort features a guest appearance by Jerry Cantrell (ALICE IN CHAINS).

SPIRITUAL BEGGARS:

SPIRITUAL BEGGARS: 'Sunrise To Sundown' Cover Artwork, Track Listing Revealed

SPIRITUAL BEGGARS — the Swedish band featuring ARCH ENEMY guitarist Michael Amott and bassist Sharlee D'Angelo, along with vocalist Apollo Papathanasio (ex-FIREWIND) — will release its ninth studio album, titled "Sunrise To Sundown", on March 18 in Europe and March 25 in North America via InsideOut Music. The CD's cover artwork was created by Costin Chioreanu of Twilight13Media (AT THE GATES, GRAVE, ARCTURUS).

"Sunrise To Sundown" track listing:

01. Sunrise To Sundown02. Diamond Under Pressure03. What Doesn't Kill You04. Hard Road05. Still Hunter06. No Man's Land07. I Turn To Stone08. Dark Light Child09. Lonely Freedom10. You've Been Fooled11. Southern Star The album's limited edition version will be released as two-CD mediabook with a bonus disc including seven tracks (two covers versions and five live songs) and an expanded booklet. The LP format will be on 180-gram vinyl and come in gatefold packaging with a double-sided poster as well as the full standard album on CD as bonus.

After a busy couple of last years with ARCH ENEMY, Michael Amott and his bandmates have once again found the availability and inspiration to lay down eleven dynamic and uplifting new songs, which not only easily demonstrate how much on top of their game SPIRITUAL BEGGARS still are after over twenty years of activities, but also add a fresh and spontaneous vibe to their impressive catalogue. Speaking about how the new album came together, Amott said: "We've been writing the album here and there over the last couple of years when our schedules have allowed us to meet up and spend a few days jamming. A few of the songs I wrote on my own; others were written by our keyboard player Per Wiberg. Our drummer Ludwig Witt submitted two tracks that are actually his first major contributions to the band as a writer — and they're great songs too! I also co-wrote a few tunes with Per Wiberg and that was really a lot of fun as well, it's been a very collaborative process." In contrast to the often-soulless current high-tech digital cut-paste recordings, "Sunrise To Sundown" was tracked live off the floor. Amott said: "I'm super excited about how the album sounds sonically. Our engineer, Staffan Karlsson, also produced and mixed the album, and the result is something we're very proud of.

"I think every album we have made (this being our ninth) has had its own vibe and atmosphere. I can honestly say this band has never made the same album twice.

"To me, 'Sunrise To Sundown' is the next chapter of the book we've been writing since we started the band over twenty years ago. Of course, the foundation of our style is heavy rock music, but we always keep evolving adding new influences and colours to the bands core sound." SPIRITUAL BEGGARS will embark on a European tour in support of "Sunrise To Sundown" in March.

SPIRITUAL BEGGARS reissued two of its classic catalog titles on October 14, 2013: the band's 2005 "Demons" album was made available for the first time ever on vinyl via InsideOut Music; and their acclaimed and hard-to-find debut LP, the self-titled "Spiritual Beggars" from 1994, was re-released with over 70 minutes of unreleased bonus material via Century Media Records.

SPIRITUAL BEGGARS is:

Video: LAST IN LINE Joined By CINDERELLA Bassist For JIMMY BAIN Tribute On DEF LEPPARD Cruise

Video: LAST IN LINE Joined By CINDERELLA Bassist For JIMMY BAIN Tribute On DEF LEPPARD Cruise

The surviving members of LAST IN LINE were joined by CINDERELLA bassist Eric Brittingham aboard DEF LEPPARD's inaugural "Hysteria On The High Seas" cruise to play a special set in memory of LAST IN LINE's bassist, Jimmy Bain, who died the previous night on the ship. Fan-filmed video footage of the performance can be seen below.

Bain, along with drummer Vinny Appice and guitarist Vivian Campbell, was part of the original DIO lineup, which reunited in 2012 alongside singer Andrew Freeman to form LAST IN LINE.

Bain died over the weekend at the age of 68. No cause of death has been revealed, although it has been reported that he was ill for some time.

Campbell confirmed Bain's death, saying in a statement: "Jimmy's struggles with his demons were well documented through the years, but over the last 18 months, he had finally won that battle and he was bright and lucid and motivated throughout the writing and recording of the new record. He leaves behind him a rich legacy of work from RAINBOW, through WILD HORSES, DIO, and finally, LAST IN LINE.

"Jimmy was immensely proud of our new album and his input to it was immeasurable. He was a very kind and gentle and generous soul and our lives were greatly enriched for having known him. We will continue to celebrate his life through his music."

Born in Scotland on December 19, 1947, Bain joined RAINBOW in time to appear on the band's second album, 1976's "Rising". He was fired a year later and went on to guest with THIN LIZZY and work in THIN LIZZY frontman Phil Lynott's solo band, before forming WILD HORSES with ex-THIN LIZZY guitarist Brian Robertson. He appeared on Gary Moore's 1983 album "Dirty Fingers" before joining DIO and playing on seven DIO albums with vocalist Ronnie James Dio, from 1983 debut "Holy Diver" to 2002's "Killing The Dragon".
