BLACK SABBATH, QUEEN Legends Attend COZY POWELL Plaque Unveiling (Video)According to the Gloucestershire Echo, BLACK SABBATH's Tony Iommi and QUEEN's Brian May attended the unveiling ceremony for a plaque honoring legendary drummer Cozy Powell (RAINBOW, MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP, BLACK SABBATH, WHITESNAKE, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) on January 7 in Cirencester, England. Also appearing at the VIP reception at the Corn Hall were DEEP PURPLE keyboardist Don Airey and ex-WHITESAKE members Neil Murray and Bernie Marsden.
May, who was good friends with Cozy, praised Powell, calling him "a brilliant innovative world-beating drummer." He added: "He was one of the world's greatest drummers and musicians. We have the great honor of unveiling this."
Iommi said: "It was great to play with [Cozy]. This is a great moment."
The event was reportedly filmed and will be included in a documentary about Cozy's life, "Dance With The Devil - The Cozy Powell Story", which has been in production for the last several years.
The plaque was created by Cirencester Town Council in response to a petition started by Italian woman Rossella Amadori and signed by 3,000 people.
Powell died on April 5, 1998 following a car crash while driving his Saab 9000 at 104 mph (167 kmh) in bad weather on the M4 motorway near Bristol, England. According to a BBC report, Powell's blood-alcohol reading at the time of the crash was over the legal limit, he was not wearing a seatbelt, and he was talking to his girlfriend on his mobile phone. 6

SLASH, PAUL STANLEY, JERRY CANTRELL, JOHN 5 Featured In 'Turn It Up!' DocumentaryCelebrating the electric guitar, the full-length documentary film "Turn It Up!" will be released on January 22. A cinematic and auditory tour de force, the film — shot in high definition — is a combination of stunning photography, musical performances, world-class collections, and in-depth interviews – from international legends to "everyman" collectors. Released by 71st Street Entertainment, "Turn It Up!" will be available as a two-disc DVD set, two-disc Blu-ray set (with second disc in standard definition only), and as a digital download (does not include bonus set). Created and directed by Robert Radler ("Best Of The Best 1 & 2", "SS United States: Lady In Waiting", "The Substitute"), "Turn It Up!" is an emotional exploration of the electric guitar and the people who fall under its spell. Narrated by actor/musician Kevin Bacon, the film features interviews with an array of guitar royalty: the late Les Paul and B.B. King (in one of his final interviews), Slash, Robby Krieger, Paul Stanley, Steve Lukather, Nancy Wilson, Jeff "Skunk" Baxter, Albert Lee, Ana Popovic, Jerry Cantrell, Steve Howe, John 5 and many others. The "Turn It Up!" DVD and Blu-ray sets not only include the full documentary film, but the "Conversations And Extras" bonus disc, which boasts extended interviews; scenes with the Burst Brothers; mini-documentaries on RKS Guitars and Seymour Duncan; Robby Krieger noodling on his guitar; and a performance of Jeff "Skunk" Baxter from the film "S.S. United States: Lady In Waiting". "Turn It Up!" simultaneously honors the beloved electrified six-string and recognizes the rich bond between musician and instrument, and the pilgrimage to find the ultimate guitar and perfect tone. From the mouths of those who invent them, build them, sell them, collect them, and those who make them sing, the film reveals the deep cultural love affair of the world’s most popular instrument, and explores its past, present, and future. It's the sound of rebellion, heartbreak, joy, fear, madness, pain, and all-out exuberance — the electric guitar has been a beacon of self-expression for generations, and "Turn It Up!" details exactly why. The DVD, Blu-ray, and digital download will be available online and at physical retailers (through Sony RED Distribution).

MEGADETH: 'Dystopia' Title Track Available For StreamingThe title track of MEGADETH's forthcoming fifteenth studio album, "Dystopia", can be streamed below. Due on January 22, 2016, the follow-up to 2013's "Super Collider" was recorded last year in Nashville, Tennessee and was produced by MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine. The CD was mixed by Josh Wilbur, who has previously worked with LAMB OF GOD, ALL THAT REMAINS and GOJIRA.
Mustaine told Heavy about the "Dystopia" title: "I've had this outlook for a long time that the world is a really good place with some bad people in it. Others might think the opposite. But I think if you were to take a consensus of people, they know the difference between right and wrong."
He added: "People have manners and morals — but lately there's been a decline in how people treat one another. That's where 'Dystopia' comes in. If people don't start loving each other and helping those in need, then when that becomes more important than power, fame or money, then I think we're going to be okay."
"Dystopia" marks the recording debut of MEGADETH's new lineup, featuring founding members Mustaine (guitar, vocals) and David Ellefson (bass) alongside LAMB OF GOD drummer Chris Adler and Brazilian guitarist Kiko Loureiro, best known for his work with ANGRA.
"Dystopia" track listing:
01. The Threat Is Real02. Dystopia03. Fatal Illusion04. Death From Within05. Bullet To The Brain06. Post American World07. Poisonous Shadows08. Look Who's Talking (iTunes bonus track)09. Conquer Or Die10. Lying In State11. The Emperor12. Last Dying Wish (iTunes bonus track)13. Foreign Policy (FEAR cover)
The band also recorded a cover version of "Melt The Ice Away" (BUDGIE).
The song "Poisonous Shadows" features piano playing from Kiko as well as orchestration from famed Nashville arranger Ronn Huff, the father of former MEGADETH producer Dann Huff. Mustaine described the track to Rolling Stone as "a really haunting piece" and added that "the part that [Kiko] played is very Chopin-meets-MEGADETH, if that makes sense." 21

SEBASTIAN BACH 'Would Love The Chance' To Bury The Hatchet With SKID ROW And Reunite Band's Classic LineupEx-SKID ROW singer Sebastian Bach says that he "would love the chance" to bury the hatchet with his former bandmates and reunite the group's classic lineup.
Vocalist Tony Harnell left SKID ROW in December, less than a year after he first joined the band. His predecessor, Johnny Solinger, was fired in April 2015 after a fifteen-year stint with the group.
Writing on his Twitter account, Bach said: "Only way a SKID ROW reunion could happen is if we somehow tried [to] bury a 20-year hatchet between us. Would love the chance to do so #SitDown" He added in another tweet: "To be honest, I have said some super shitty things [to] them [and] about them. I would like to apologize for shooting my mouth off."
SKID ROW guitarist Dave "Snake" Sabo recently told The Aquarian Weekly about the possibility of SKID ROW reuniting with Bach: "Happiness, to me, is my spirit and my soul is more important to me than having dollars in my wallet. People may [not] believe that and that's okay. Anybody who knows me knows that to be true. I don't think you can place a price on happiness. We've been hit repeatedly over the years with, 'Why don't you do a reunion tour?' And you know what? I understand the question and I get it. I really do, and if I were on the outside, I'd be asking the same question, but no one feels comfortable with that idea."
Bach told 100PercentRock.com last year that he hasn't grown tired of people asking him about a SKID ROW reunion. He explained: "When people say, 'Are SKID ROW going to get back together?' I understand that question. [But] I haven’t been in the same room as [SKID ROW bassist] Rachel Bolan since '96. It's coming up on 20 years. If we ever were to reunite on a stage — that's almost 20 years of getting over whatever the hell it is he's mad about, because I'm not mad at all. The fact that the five guys in GUNS N' ROSES are still alive, and the five guys in SKID ROW, we're all still alive, that's a miracle. It's almost, like, if you have the chance to do something that epic, and you don't do it, it's kind of, like, selfish to me, really."
Bach didn't rule out one day returning to the band that made him famous, but made it clear the reunion isn't up to him.
"It's very easy for me to walk on the stage and sing the same songs that I already sing every night," he said. "It's not hard, so I don't understand what the holdup is. You'd have to ask them."
In a 2010 interview, Bolan stated about SKID ROW's split with Sebastian: "There was so much tension and so much infighting that it was hard to write songs. Snake and I formed the band, we wrote the songs, and then other people played and sang it. People wanted to break away from what had been working, and that impeded the songwriting."
Regarding the decision to reform SKID ROW in 1999 without Bach, Bolan said: "The blood was so bad after [1995's] 'Subhuman Race' and there was just so much stuff in the press, we knew it wasn't going to work [with Sebastian]. We decided we'd rather go on being happy with what we were doing than get right back into all the tension and dissension. We loved the music, we loved playing, and we knew we could do this and have fun again. So we decided right there to continue without him."
Only way a Skid Row Reunion could happen is if we somehow tried2 bury a 20 year hatchet between us. Would love the chance to do so #SitDown

3 DOORS DOWN first found their own voice in 1995. It's only gotten louder over the past two decades. Everything kicked off with their 2000 debut, "The Better Life". The album went six-times platinum and introduced the world to their now-classic "Kryptonite". Their fan base continued to grow with 2002's triple-platinum "Away From The Sun" — which yielded the smashes "When I'm Gone" and "Here Without You". Both 2005's platinum-certified "Seventeen Days" and "3 Doors Down" (2008) bowed at No. 1 on The Billboard 200, followed by "Time Of My Life"'s No. 3 debut in 2011.
In between countless sold-out shows, the guys notched three Grammy Award nods, scored two American Music Awards, and received a total of five BMI Pop Awards, including an award for Brad for BMI "Songwriter Of The Year." 2003 saw the group begin a tradition of giving back in a big way with the launch of their The Better Life Foundation (TBLF). The organization has lived up to its name by giving as many children as possible a better life and supporting Center Of The Prevention Of Child Abuse, Habitat For Humanity, and various other charities. Its annual concert has hosted everyone from LYNYRD SKYNYRD and Sara Evans to STAIND, SHINEDOWN and ALTER BRIDGE.

KING PARROT Pays Tribute To LEMMY With 'Ace Of Spades' Performance (Video)Australian thrash grind unit KING PARROT paid tribute to iconic MOTÖRHEAD frontman Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister on December 31 by performing the MOTÖRHEAD classic "Ace Of Spades" during their concert at the Crowbar in Brisbane, Australia. Fan-filmed video footage of the performance can be seen below.
KING PARROT's latest album came out in May 2015 in North America via Housecore Records. Titled "Dead Set", the record was produced by former PANTERA and current DOWN singer Philip H. Anselmo and his recording crew of Michael Thompson and Steve Berrigan at the infamous Nodferatu's Lair (DOWN, EYEHATEGOD, SUPERJOINT RITUAL) in Louisiana and spews forth ten ravaging psalms that showcase KING PARROT's signature punk rock spirit and pummeling sonic debauchery. A true leap forward from KING PARROT's debut, "Dead Set" exhibits a distinct maturity from a band who've committed to the rigors of international touring, slaying audiences through Asia, North America, Europe and Australia on a regular basis.
Lemmy, who just celebrated his 70th birthday on Christmas Eve (December 24), learned two days later that he was afflicted with an aggressive form of cancer. He died on December 28 in Los Angeles.
MOTÖRHEAD was revered by both metal and punk fans, and Lemmy was considered an icon for his musical talent and his embodiment of the rock n’ roll lifestyle.
Lemmy had been dealing with serious health issues for the past two years, including getting a pacemaker in 2013 and suffering from a hematoma in 2014. But despite 40 years of hard living and drinking, he continued to tour and record at a feverish pace.
The band was forced to cancel or postpone a number of shows last year due to Lemmy's poor health, which also forced him to cut back on his drinking and give up smoking.

KATAKLYSM Frontman's EX DEO Project To Release 'The Immortal Wars' Album In February 2017EX DEO, the reactivated Ancient Roman-themed arsenal fronted by KATAKLYSM singer Maurizio Iacono, will release its new studio album, "The Immortal Wars", in February 2017 via Napalm Records. The CD's main concept will deal with Punic Wars, a series of three wars fought between Rome and Carthage from 264 B.C. to 146 B.C. The epic legendary wars will come to life and bring the showdown between two of the greatest generals that ever walked the earth, Hannibal and Scipio Africanus, both of whom rewrote the rules of war and strategies. The album will also feature other unexplored subjects on Ancient Rome surely to raise the epic level to the maximum.
Regarding the direction of the new album, EX DEO has a "take-no-prisoner aggressive nature in its attitude with a dramatic and glorious score behind it. [The band] will dig deep into the historic roots of Rome on the new album while honoring its heroes."
Iacono announced in February 2014 that he was taking a break from EX DEO due to scheduling conflicts with his management company and his main band. He explained at the time: "EX DEO started to grow and at some point it will collide with everything, and I need time to breathe. Maybe some years from now, when I'm gray, older with more time at hand, we'll dust off those armors and go for one last battle on the field... For now, enjoy what we have done and see you legions in the afterlife!"
EX DEO's "The Tiberius Cliff (Exile To Capri)" video can be seen below. The song is taken from EX DEO's sophomore album, "Caligvla", which was released in August 2012 via Austria's Napalm Records.
"Caligvla" was mixed by KATAKLYSM guitarist Jean-François Dagenais, who has previously worked with MALEVOLENT CREATION, MISERY INDEX and DESPISED ICON, among others.
"Caligvla" featured contributions from ALL SHALL PERISH guitarist Francesco Artusato, TRISTANIA singer Mariangela Demurtas, SEPTICFLESH's Seth Siro Anton and GRAVEWORM's Stefano Fiori. Every invited guest on the album was of Roman or Greek descent. 2

LACUNA COIL Is Reintroducing 'A Lot' Of Growling Vocals On Upcoming AlbumVocalist Cristina Scabbia of Italian heavy rockers LACUNA COIL was interviewed on a recent edition of the Revolver magazine podcast. You can now listen to the chat using the SoundCloud widget below.
Speaking about the progress of the recording sessions for LACUNA COIL's new album, "Delirium", Scabbia said: "I think that everything will be finished by the end of February, and the album should be out end of May. We already have the idea of it all, but, of course, things are gonna change during the process, and even in the studio; we change a lot of things in the studio."
LACUNA COIL's new CD is being recorded at BRX Studio in Milan. The effort is being produced by LACUNA COIL bassist and main songwriter Marco "Maki" Coti-Zelati, with engineering by Marco Barusso and additional assistance from Dario Valentini.
Regarding LACUNA COIL's decision to record the new album in Italy, Scabbia said: "It's not the first time, because we did the same thing on the previous record, [2014's] 'Broken Crown Halo'. And even on [2012's] 'Dark Adrenaline', we recorded part of it in Italy. Because now, with technology, it doesn't really make a big difference to be in a city or another… It was very different years ago where you would have to go to a specific studio to find the quality. Now it's much easier. Plus, it was easier for us to be home, for different reasons — a comfortable choice, 'cause you could be [going home at the end of the day]. Which might be a con sometimes, because you might lose the focus, but it's not our case, 'cause we're really into the new record. It was for the comfortable level. It was also because of costs as well — because of the budget, you can save money, sleeping in your own house. And plus, we know tons of very, very good engineers and people that can help us out, so that helps on that comfort level that I was telling you before."
"Delirium" is LACUNA COIL's first album to featuring American drummer Ryan Blake Folden, who has been touring with the band since 2012. "He's been with us for quite a while, because he used to be our drum tech years ago, so he was already part of the family," Cristina said. "And it was really, really important for us to have someone who could be family to us. Because we've always been like a group of friends before being a band together. For us, it's really important to be friends, to be hanging out together even off stage. It's really important. I mean, we don't care about the band put together just because of the business. It's really important to have fun. So he was the perfect person, because he's not only an amazing drummer, but he's also a super-nice guy, he's good looking, so he has the perfect image. We love him. He's such a funny guy too."
On the topic of how Ryan's addition to LACUNA COIL has affected the band's sound, Cristina said: "Well, the new sound is definitely gonna be heavier, a little bit more technical, 'cause he's really, really good, so we can play with drums. But there are gonna be a lot of differences. I mean, we reintroduced a lot of growls with the singing as well. So, overall, it's gonna be more heavy than it used to be. I mean, it's weird to say, because, on one side, we're going back, because we're going back to the LACUNA COIL roots, with a lot more growling, more aggressive [and] and more metal, but on the other side, there are a lot of new elements. So it's a combination of things that makes everything really new for us. We're always talking about evolution, because it's always been the right way for us — not to get stuck in one place, to try to find different things, to take some risks. I mean, sometimes we've been criticized for our choices, but we see that [as] the only way to go on. You can't do the same thing over and over. You wouldn't do it in life, so we don't want to do it in our music."
"Broken Crown Halo" sold around 13,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 27 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD arrived in stores on April 1, 2014 via Century Media.
"Broken Crown Halo" was recorded Italy by producer Jay Baumgardner (P.O.D., SEVENDUST, EVANESCENCE, PAPA ROACH) and engineer Kyle Hoffmann (P.O.D., BUSH, ZEBRAHEAD). 4

RISING ANGER Release “Golden Watch” VideoRising Anger will release their new EP Of Fights And Lights on February 12th via Bastardized Recordings. A new video for "Golden Watch" has been released. The "Golden Watch" video has an atmospheric intro with skillfully positioned highlights and unusual sound worlds to Rising Anger, evolves to an independent song with a clear message.
The artwork for the upcoming release apears very oppressive and confining at first. The colours are chosen to be very dull and grey and consequential spreads an autumn like feeling. There is a branch with thorns growing out of a bole to be seen in the artwork. The thorns, which are highlighted through extreme depth of focus in the central point of the image are drawing the viewers attention. However the blurred areas behind are shining bright. It is not to be seen what lies behind this obstacle, solely the bright light is visible. As an observer, you absolutely want to leave the thorns behind and get to know what is waiting behind. The back and forth, the overcoming of obstacles, the contrast among the ups and downs in life is a very big topic on Of Fights And Lights.
As already chosen on the debut album Mindfinder, the cover is mirroring the main message of all lyrics on this record. The picture stems from David Marx and the artwork has been, as already for Mindfinder, created by Nina Gänsler.

“The Great White Wall”

New York’s MANIPULATE To Release Becoming Madness EP Next Month; Track StreamingThe inevitable sound clash of American hardcore and metal has matured tremendously since outfits such as Corrosion Of Conformity and D.R.I. made speed the ultimate goal during the early to mid-1980s. For New York City's Manipulate, it is not only the stylistic traits of both genres worth blending, but upholding the best aspects of each culture as well.
From the metal side of the equation, the band offers up dark, crunchy, menacing riffs coupled with a complete lack of regard for anyone's hurt feelings. From the hardcore end: no-holds-barred energy and intensity with a critical socio-political point-of-view only the naive would disregard.
Manipulate's aptly-titled Becoming Madness EP, set for release via Flatspot Records on February 12, presents an explicit look at the human condition divided into equal parts anger, cynicism and concern yet labeling Manipulate as "positive hardcore" would be grossly inappropriate. There is very little positivity to be found when those around you are dying as a result of their own actions. Nor is there an ounce of honor amongst those who choose to waste their own time on earth, as well as the time of others. Equally disenchanting are the ones whose disregard for friends and family overpowers that of love and loyalty.
Becoming Madness was tracked during the summer of 2015 by Jeff "Stress" Davis at Chopshop Studios with vocals recorded by John Grant at Madhouse NYC, mixed by Taylor Young at The Pit Studios, and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege. The band’s namesake track is streaming below.

Melbourne’s INVERLOCH Announce Distance | Collapsed Album; Title Track StreamingMelbourne, Australia's Inverloch, featuring half of the legendary Disembowelment, has announced their first-ever full-length release. With the five-track Distance | Collapsed, the band has crafted another masterpiece boasting forty minutes of absolutely crushing death/doom. Buzzsaw death metal riffs and bowel splitting vocals mix alongside earth shaking dirges and blasting percussion, all wrapped together in a haunting yet beautifully dreadful atmosphere. With Distance | Collapsed, Inverloch proves they are one of the finest bands making extreme music today.

VALLEYS Introduce Album Concept With Short Film-Style Music Video For “The Death Of Me”Modern progressive metal group, Valleys, are set to release their debut full-length concept album, Experiment One: Asylum, on February 12th. The album illustrates the main character, Asylum, in his tumultuous fight with Multiple-Personality Disorder. Each track depicts Asylum's returning struggle with a different personality.
Last month, Valleys introduced Asylum to the world via their track "Finding Solace" (streaming below), which depicted the character's struggle with overcoming his disorder. But how does the story begin?
Today, Valleys have revealed their brand new short film/music video for the track "The Death Of Me", which details the beginning of Asylum's decent into madness - with the tragic death of his wife and unborn child by the hand of a home intruder. Watch the music video below.
"This track acts like a prequel to the entire story of this record, which is pretty ironic since this is the last song on the album," states guitarist Brandon Scurlark. "The instrumentals follow the rise and fall of Asylum throughout the track. The more melodic parts represent the ups and the good times, where the heavier chaotic parts and as well as the breakdown represent the fall of Asylum and his succumbing to the disease."
Vocalist Jayson Mitchell adds, "We focused the video around the Asylum family and kept the camera away from us in the band. With us staying in the background, it gave the image of us being the different personalities, waiting to take over almost like a foreshadowing or a dream."
The entire video was filmed by Jaiden Frost of Jaiden Frost Presents over the course of just 15 hours.
Experiment One: Asylum was recorded during the summer and fall of 2015 and is produced by Paul Barton of 415 Recording, with mixing and mastering duties handled by Todd Borland of Borland Studios.
"We wrote this album as a concept on Multiple Personality Disorder because we understand how devastating this disease can be on the individual and his/her family. We wrote these lyrics and music as a way of hope for the people diagnosed with this disease. We want them to hear the record and hear the story of Asylum, the main character, and see that if he can fight the disease, anyone can," adds Mitchell.
Valleys are currently planning a tour for spring 2016, set to be announced soon. Stay tuned for more details on Experiment One: Asylum and the upcoming Valleys tour.
“Finding Solace”:
Valleys is:
Jayson Mitchell - Vocals
Mikey Clement - Vocals
R.J. Riggle - Guitar

Frontman/guitarist Chris Robertson comments, "We are beyond excited to bring 'Kentucky' to you! Since the release of our debut, we have wanted to go back to the studio where it all began and it finally happened! The original studio owner/engineer, all of the great equipment and Black Stone Cherry have been reunited for what I feel has been the most unique album we've ever made. We took it back to where it started and something magical happened! These new songs are the heart and soul of who we were in 2006 and who we've become. There is something very special about these songs and I cannot wait for y'all to feel them!"
Guitarist Ben Wells elaborates, "This album is by far the heaviest, most aggressive album we've ever made. We went in focused, but not overly prepared. We wanted to leave room for creativity to grow in the studio and man did it happen! Lyrically we went to places that we think people will relate to, because it's all stuff that we have lived, or are living. This is the first album we've been able to fully self-produce and the result is an album jam-packed with 'in your face' riffs, huge drums, and bass that will shake your teeth."

BraveWords scribe Aaron Small recently interviewed Black Stone Cherry guitarist Ben Wells about his band's forthcoming album Kentucky; an excerpt follows: “We wrote all the way up until recording; on the road and at home. Some songs we revisited, the first single that’s going to come out next year is a song that we wrote actually in 2010. Basically, the songs are 90% done once we get in the studio. We like to keep that 10% just to be creative and make up stuff as you go along.” To read the interview in its entirety, click here.

RESURRECTION KINGS Feat. VINNY APPICE, CRAIG GOLDY: 'Path Of Love' Song Streaming"Path Of Love", a song from RESURRECTION KINGS — new so-called "supergroup" featuring singer Chas West (TRIBE OF GYPSIES, LYNCH MOB), guitarist Craig Goldy (DIO, GIUFFRIA, ROUGH CUTT, DIO DISCIPLES), bassist Sean McNabb (DOKKEN, GREAT WHITE) and drummer Vinny Appice (DIO, BLACK SABBATH, HEAVEN & HELL) — can be streamed below. The track is taken from RESURRECTION KINGS' self-titled debut album, which will be released on January 29 via Frontiers Music Srl.
Goldy stated about "Path Of Love": "'Path Of Love' is another song written by our producer Alessandro Del Vecchio. I got another chance to mix dark, sexy, tough and nasty into the same song as I did with some of the other songs on this album. I've always liked that mixture, and I always lean more towards dark and tough automatically, but this album allowed me to utilize this mixture in my own little way. Even though this song I didn't write, [I] wanted to put in the same amount of effort as if I had!!"
Everything began with a set of demos Goldy recorded with singer West, a guy with an unbelievable set of pipes.
West said: "It started about five years ago when Craig Goldy contacted me and said he'd like to do something, do a project. 'Let's get together and write.' Because we had played together, doing some covers in an all-star thing called the HOLLYWOOD ALLSTARZ."
Added Goldy: "I was contacted by Serafino [Perugino], the president of Frontiers. He wanted to do an album with famous guys from the '80s, and I was absolutely flabbergasted that they came to me for it, so I was more than happy to say yes."
Said Appice: "Craig told me he was doing this project and he needed somebody to play drums on it, and he'd love for me to come check it out. He played me a couple of songs, I loved it, so I said, 'Yeah, I'll do it.' So I laid all the drum tracks down, sent them back, and I thought it came out great." Frontiers in-house writer and producer Alessandro Del Vecchio (REVOLUTION SAINTS, HARDLINE, RATED X) offered his services to the band and wrote (or co-wrote with Goldy) a few tracks to round out the material that was available.
Regarding the songwriting process for RESURRECTION KINGS' debut CD, Goldy said: "Originally, I had the music [for the song 'Living Out Loud']… I had learned the hard way that you've gotta start off with a good groove, and then you come up with a cool riff and then you come up with some simple chord progressions and then a melody line. And then, once the melody line is established, and we're starting to work on lyrics, that's when you can go back and kind of mess with the chords and stuff to make them more interesting. But we kind of had the outline of the song already, and then I presented that to Chas and him and I just started doing the process that's supposed to be. The first thing he did is just start improvising, what came naturally. So it came from his heart and it came from his talent."
Goldy also spoke about some of the other tracks on RESURRECTION KINGS' debut album which were written by producer Alessandro Del Vecchio. He said: "[Alessandro] is an amazing songwriting [and] a great producer, a keyboard player. I think he plays guitar and stuff as well. He's a great singer too. I can't wait for people to hear how he sings. So some of the demo versions already had vocals, drums, bass and guitar on them. So we would learn the songs, and then we'd do them our way. It was something Alessandro and I called 'Goldy-izing.' 'Cause we would get these demos, and they'd be kind of in an odd kind of shape, and so I would Goldy-ize it and turn it into something that I thought would be more interesting. Once Vinny and Sean got ahold of these songs, they really came alive. 'Cause a lot of the times, songwriters will write demos to drum machines, which is fine, 'cause it's just basically a sketch, and then you turn that sketch into an oil painting. And so when Vinny and Sean got ahold of these songs, it really came alive. So that gave me automatic inspiration on top of a great song that Alessandro had already written." "Resurrection Kings" track listing

Digital pre-orders for the album are available now and include an instant download of "Who Do You Run To", the video for which can be seen below.
The cover artwork for "Resurrection Kings" was designed by Stanis-W Decker and can be seen below.
Appice and Goldy played sporadic shows earlier in the year as part of BLACK KNIGHTS RISING, also featuring bassist Elliott Rubinson (Uli Jon Roth, MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP, Carmine Appice) and vocalists Tim "Ripper" Owens (JUDAS PRIEST, ICED EARTH, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, DIO DISCIPLES) and John West (BADLANDS, LYNCH MOB, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA).
After joining DIO in 1987, Goldy became Ronnie James Dio's right-hand man and went on to co-write such DIO classics as "Dream Evil", "One More For The Road" and "As Long As It's Not About Love". 3

BON JOVI Plan March Release for New AlbumBon Jovi have reportedly scheduled a March release for their 14th album, titled This House Is Not for Sale.
Frontman Jon Bon Jovi discussed the new LP during a press conference in Kuala Lumpur, telling reporters that the group’s most recent recordings found them “really going back to the beginning” — right down to where and how the songs were tracked.
“We were recording at different times and different rooms in the studio. That’s not happening anymore,” said Bon Jovi. “We went back to the place where we cut ‘Runaway’ in 1982 – where I used to sweep the floor and fetch coffee.”
That studio, the Power Station in Manhattan, was owned by Jon Bon Jovi’s cousin Tony Bongiovi, and Bon Jovi’s tenure there also included his participation on the Star Wars Christmas album. Although Bon Jovi joked that “old habits” led him back to cleaning up the studio and fetching band members coffee during the This House sessions, it sounds like the record ended up taking a comparatively somber tone.
“When I wrote ‘Runaway’ in 1982, my viewpoint wasn’t that big, but with every record and passing decade of our career, we evolve. We keep our eyes open, let information in and write about the world around us. We really couldn’t write ‘You Give Love a Bad Name’ now. It was great when I was 25 but not at 53,” said Bon Jovi. “This record is about our integrity. Integrity matters and we’re at a stage of our career where we don’t have anything left to prove.”
This House Is Not for Sale marks the first Bon Jovi album completely lacking the creative input of guitarist Richie Sambora, who quit the band in 2013. The band’s most recent effort, Burning Bridges, consisted partly of older songs — including a Sambora co-write — released in order to fulfill their contractual obligations to long-term label Mercury Records. 1
