PRIMAL FEAR Frontman RALF SCHEEPERS Performs With Former Band GAMMA RAY On Stage In Munich; Fan Filmed Video AvailableOn November 3rd former Gamma Ray vocalist Ralf Scheepers, who has been fronting Primal Fear since 1998, joined the band on stage in Munich, Germany to perform the song “One with The World”. Check out fan-filmed video from the show below.
Scheepers recorded three albums with Gamma Ray before leaving in 1993.
The worldwide release of the new Primal Fear studio album, Rulebreaker, is set for January 29, 2016. A new promo photo shot by Alex Kuehr has been unveiled and can be viewed below.
Available in CD, deluxe CD/DVD and - in collaboration with Soulfood Music in Germany - Rulebreaker is also available on vinyl and a special super-limited vinyl edition version featuring an eagle head on the vinyl. Rulebreaker combines the strongest Primal Fear moments ever, with a well-balanced typical Primal Fear trademark riff-vibe, crushing songs and some very ambitious musical journeys. Pre-orders for Rulebreaker will be unveiled soon.
Singer Ralf Scheepers says: "We have so much energy, fantastic melodies and a hell of a drum groove on each and every song, there is no doubt that the fans will love it as much as I do! And again we have achieved to combine bombastic and atmospheric orchestral sounds with soaring heavy metal riffs and licks, together with ear splitting screams and also emotional sequences. We have kept the promise of being a heavy metal band with all the trademarks for which people love Primal Fear".
After the massive Delivering The Black world tour, Primal Fear started the songwriting in spring 2015 and recorded at Hansen Studios in Denmark, with producer Mat Sinner and engineer Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Pretty Maids, Amaranthe). Mat Sinner adds: "We learned a lot during the Delivering The Black sessions and the following world tour. We tried to put this know-how and all the positive energy into the songs and production of Rulebreaker. Working the second time with Jacob Hansen and even recording in his studio, gave another dimension to our sound, plus the recording comeback of founding member Tom Naumann was the right move.”
Classic and ultra-fresh Primal Fear have created riff-rockers like the album opener "Angels Of Mercy," and groove monsters "The End Is Near" and "Bullets And Tears" which hit the bulls-eye from the beginning. The album features another untamed speed killer "In Metal We Trust" and the metal anthem and title track "Rulebreaker". The melodic and unique ballad "The Sky Is Burning" shows a different side of Primal Fear with a new vibe and a monster chorus. And of course, Primal Fear included again an 11-minute plus prog metal tour de force entitled "We Walk Without Fear", spiced with big orchestral arrangements and complex sound designs.

2015, after the fall of Europe: Human beings are nothing more than consumers. Everything is a product that must be sold to everyone. A fashion created to be suitable for all. But as the world leaders' confidence increases, a far more aggressive tyrant is about to take over. Out of the ashes of civilization and into the future, Instigator will twist your children's minds with metal, Satan, hate towards society and disrespect for authority.

Canadian Power Metallers SHOCK Announce New Album; “Sonic Assault” Lyric Video StreamingCanadian power metal band, Shock, will release the follow-up to their 2013 debut album, Once Denied. Titled Forewarned, it will be released on Friday, November 13th, and is available for pre-order here.
The band has also released a new lyric video for the first song released from Forewarned, titled “Sonic Assault”, a song that comes from the band's history dating back to the mid 80's when they were openers for such metal heavyweights as Megadeth, Anthrax, Motorhead, Saxon, and Metal Church among many others. The song is a straight forward 80's era vintage thrash metal song and is a great introduction to the new album which dives deeper into the band's even heavier and more complex songs. Production was once again handled by Mike Bond and Shock.
Bassist Steve Monette states: "The first album was very much a representation of who the band was from back in the 80's, while Forewarned really bridges the gap from then till now, at the same time still staying true to our thrash metal roots”, adding, "The band wasn't willing to change our music to suit the flavour of the day when the 90's hit and that ultimately was what contributed to our demise - so all this time later we certainly aren't about to do anything other than what we feel truly represents our vision for the band's sound.”

KETZER To Release Starless Album In January; Details Revealed, Title Track StreamingGermany’s Ketzer will release their brand new album, Starless, on January, 29th via Metal Blade Records. The band has now launched a landing page, including a pre-order section, where exclusive bundles are available. Starless will be available on CD, LP and through all digital outlets.
In the summer of 2015, Ketzer entered the studio for the first time in four years. After two months of intense work the band finished recording it's third album - Starless.
"It is just now that we are realizing what we have done during this summer: We recorded an album which is very free from any boundaries and pre-conceived notions that you can find ever so often within the genre of heavy metal. From sounds of raging fury, to the echoes of calm and cleansing waves - Starless is an album that will take you on a journey that is unexpected, yet familiar at the same time. Starless is going to explore the crack between religion and reality. Is there a truth in between? Centuries ago, humankind looked up into the star filled night skies, questioning the universe and their lives within it. In order to find answers, mythology was born. But religion and myths cannot connect to the world we live in today. They have blinded the night skies - hence, we have become "starless". Join us to sing songs of the universe and play tunes of the spheres!"
Starless tracklisting:
“Starless”
“When Milk Runs Dry”
“Godface”
“Count To Ten”
“The Hunger”
“White Eyes”
“Shaman's Dance”
“Silence And Sound”
“Earthborn”

NATIVE CONSTRUCT Streaming Cover Of “Empty Chairs At Empty Tables” From Les MiserablesAfter completing a US headlining run this past summer, progressive metal outfit Native Construct is ready to embark on another North American trek, set to kick off November 18th in Cincinnati, OH. Featuring Between The Buried And Me, Enslaved, and Intronaut on the bill, this tour package is a must-see for all prog music fans. See below for dates.
In anticipation of this upcoming tour, Native Construct has launched a new video, which showcases front-man Robert Edens' incredible vocal range: a cover of Les Misérables' "Empty Chairs At Empty Tables". Watch the video below.
Myles Yang (guitar) comments: "I'm sure you can hear the musical theatre influence in the music of Native Construct. We're big fans of it, and this is a tune from an old favorite of ours, Les Misérables. I did this arrangement for Rob to sing on back in our freshman year of college, just for fun. We did a little recording of it in a dorm room, and that was that.
“Fast forward to a few weeks ago - our guitarist, Poh Hock, was competing in the .strandberg* Guitar Competition. A portion of the competition was decided by popular vote, and we called on our fans for assistance. Turns out we have a great little community going here; we received an outstanding amount of support, and Poh Hock ended up taking first place in the competition. So, as a token of our appreciation, we decided to dust off this old arrangement and make a new and improved version of it for everyone to enjoy.
“We recorded all new vocals from Rob, and he also did a fresh mix and master of the whole thing. And Max Harchik (bass) directed, shot, and edited a video of it all, for your viewing pleasure. Thanks again, guys; hope you like it!"

BEHEMOTH's NERGAL: 'It Feels Good To Be Alive'Guitarist/vocalist Adam "Nergal" Darski of Polish extreme metallers BEHEMOTH, who underwent a bone marrow transplant procedure in December 2010 after being diagnosed with a life-threatening form of leukemia, has posted the following message on the band's official Facebook page:
"December 17th. It is a celebration day in my personal calendar, you know? That's why I often say my birthday's twice a year;)…
"It was exactly five years ago where I was sitting in my hospital isolation ward waiting for bone marrow delivery. Due to harsh weather conditions, the dealer has been delayed. I remember I was wearing WATAIN shirt on that day. And I was excited yet calm and relaxed. I kinda felt it's all going to be just fine. The intuition. The deep inner voice. You name it. I just had this self-confidence and felt no fear whatsoever. My mindset was set for unconditional victory.
"Five months of relentless chemo, TBI, steroids and strict diet did the trick. I was soooo ready. The transplant went smooth as it took maybe 1.5 hours to get fully injected and after that, it took 2-3 weeks for my body to absorb my 'twin brother's' DNA. My organism welcomed him warmly and in mid-January I was released from the hospital. My recovering had pretty impressive tempo, but I was far from feeling OK. My friend, Rob Ferguson, FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM manager, sent me a message about FIELDS' one-off show in Poland, in April. I knew I couldn't miss it. And then this idea we had before came back to my head. Maybe I could join McCoy & Co. on stage? The question was my ability to perform: sing, scream plus all the physical work that it requires. I had billion of doubts, but, again, my intuition told me to go, and at least give it a try. I had nothing to lose. And the concept of joining my all-time favorite band on stage was beyond tempting.
"I drove throughout the country to make it to the show. I sensed it has more than entertainment value to me… it was somehow metaphysical, tho I know it may sound pathetic. Me and Carl sat together by the bar one hour prior to the show to discuss our parts. Again, instinctively I marked verses I wanted to sing and he just accepted it. I was all trembling and nervous… I was taking a piss like 10 times before he called me up on stage. It's not very often you hear McCoy talk in between the songs yet this time he made an introduction to that song and called me… a friend. I entered the stage to unleash this earth inferno. My legs were shaking and mouth… well, I suffered from several post-transplant afflictions but the worst was this very uncomfortable condition that made my mouth dry out in a second after just saying few words. So before I even screamed out the first line, I was out of spit! Arm in arm with Carl McCoy and the the whole band, seeing frenzy and this strange kind of euphoria in people's eyes made me do it. 'Shinning like gods, new body, new blood'… and it was while singing those words I felt MAGICK. Like it was all meant to be. Right man at the right place. Not quite in the best shape but what the hell! I felt so encouraged and motivated I can't even describe. The adrenaline did the job.
"I left the stage with a shield yet my organism paid the price the following night. I woke up around 2 or 3 a.m. feeling totally sick. Diarrhea, fever, nausea, sleepless night. I was far away from home. There was nobody around me and I didn't know what to do. I managed to get to my car early in the morning. Drove 80 km to Krakow stopping on a sideways as I felt I was about to collapse. I made it to a good friend of mine who was a doctor. I stayed at his place for another 2-3 with an EV injected in my veins trying to get better. Eventually I did.
"And here I am, 5 years later.
"Nietzsche said 'No victor believes in a chance,' therefore I do not believe this show is happening on THAT day accidentally.
"I'm immensely privileged to be a part of it again, performing one of the best songs in their career, 'Penetration'.
"I can't think of celebrating my 'second' birthday in a more epic way. I'm living my dream!
"Thursday, December 17th, 02 Academy Islington, London. Join us! It feels good to be alive…!" 9

HALESTORM Bassist Confirms LZZY HALE And JOE HOTTINGER Have Had An 'On-And-Off' RelationshipHALESTORM's Josh Smith has finally confirmed the long-standing rumor that the band's frontwoman Lzzy Hale and HALESTORM guitarist Joe Hottinger have been involved in a romantic relationship. Asked by Tommy Carroll of the 103.9 The Bear radio station in South Bend, Indiana if it's true that Lzzy and Joe are "an item," Smith responded (see video below): "It's quite possible. It's on and off. Right now, I think it's off. That's all I'm gonna say."
The bassist continued: "They're pretty open about their relationship. They don't talk about it openly, but, you know… At the end of the day, we're all like family, and that's more or less the road we take is… You know… Whatever the case may be relationship-wise, it's not gonna break up our band, and that's the… I guess, the big thing is the band is the marriage here."
Lzzy was asked in an interview earlier this year if she finds it difficult to maintain a relationship while on the road. Hale replied: "In a relationship, you have to literally have everything out there to this other person, and they have to do the same thing with you, or it's not gonna work. I've never been a jealous person either, and as of right now, I'm dating someone who is the same way. So we have a very amazing trust thing going on."
She added: "I think you have to work hard, no matter what, at a relationship, but, really, the first couple of steps — laying everything out there — has been total saving graces for me and my relationship."
Lzzy and her brother Arejay (drums) formed HALESTORM in 1998 while in middle school. Hottinger joined the band in 2003, followed by Smith in 2004.
HALESTORM's third studio album, "Into The Wild Life", was released in April. 3

COREY TAYLOR: SLIPKNOT Parted Ways With JOEY JORDISON 'Because Of Necessity'Living Out Loud - LA recently conducted an interview with SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR singer Corey Taylor. You can now listen to the chat using the SoundCloud widget below. A couple of excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).
On SLIPKNOT's split with drummer Joey Jordison in December 2013:
"I mean, it was hard at first. Nothing worth doing is ever easy right out of the gate. When we parted ways with Joe, it was honestly because of necessity; he was going one way and we were going another, and we just couldn't go that way anymore. And honestly, that's all I can really say about it. But I can tell you that starting to move on without him was one of the most difficult things we've ever done. I mean, just as hard, in a lot of ways, as trying to move on without Paul [Gray, late SLIPKNOT bassist]. But, like anything, it takes those first couple of steps, and then it gets a little easier. It doesn't get better by any means, by any stretch of the imagination, but it gets easier. With the new guys [drummer Jay Weinberg and bassist Alessandro 'Vman' Venturella], it's really kind of a 2.0 kind of situation, where it's the second phase of SLIPKNOT's career, basically. And it's different. In a lot of ways, it's more fun, but in a lot of ways, it's bittersweet; it really is. Because you've got two dudes who you kind of went to the trenches with, and you stood on shoulders to kind of get to where you were, and then you lose one and then you have to split with another. And it's hard, man. It's difficult at times. Because you've got two great dudes who you're jamming with right now, but they don't understand a lot of the sacrifice and the toil that went into a lot of it. But at the same time, they have such respect not only for the band, but the music and what we're doing, because they're fans — they started out as fans and they grew up listening to us. So they have absolute respect for what this band is and what it stands for. And they have never asked for too much, stepped on the wrong toes… They are very respectful, and that's huge for us. Coming from Iowa, respect is a big thing, and they have shown it at every stage of the way. So that, in a way, has also made it a little easier for us."
On whether SLIPKNOT felt any pressure while making last year's ".5: The Gray Chapter" album:
"This band is… It's just very unique, and it always has been. There's still a lot of people out in the world who just don't understand what this band is about, and that's kind of fine, because as long as we know, it doesn't matter what anybody else thinks. And I think in a lot of ways, that's why we've been as resilient as we have been. Because we're very aware of what the identity of the band is. Just because a lot of people have a misconception of what this band is about, it doesn't change how we feel about it. And when you have that kind of strong foundation, everything else just kind of balances. We were nervous going into the studio, sure, but we knew we were going to do something special right out of the gate. It might not have been what people expected, but at the same time, we're a band that, if we're not happy with something, we don't release it — straight up. If we don't back it, we're not putting it out there. That's not say that, in retrospect, some of our stuff has been… To us, hindsight is always 20/20, so you look back at some of the stuff you've done and you're, like, 'Hmmm… I don't know about that.' But, for us, in the moment, it's what we're all about. So there wasn't a lot of pressure. It was more pressures for us that we put on ourselves, just to make a great album that we would wanna listen to. We really never paid attention to the outside stuff. It's never gotten in. I mean, that's one of the reasons why we recorded 'Iowa' the way we did, and it's also one of the reasons why we turned around and did 'Vol. 3' the way we wanted fo — just because we wanted to do it that way. So, for us, we've always been very resilient, and maybe, again, this is the reason that we work the way we do. Coming from the Midwest, we've never shied away from hard work — ever. It's one of the reasons why we dug our heels in right out of the gate and were able to establish ourselves on the first album. It's because we never shied away from the work, 'cause that's what it's all about. But the other side of that is that this band is so different. I can't describe what this band is. It's never been easy for me to describe, because, on paper, we should never have made it in the first place. I mean, it's true: we never should have. People should have looked at us and just been, 'What in the fuck is going on here?' On paper, we don't sell four million copies of the first album. It just doesn't make any sense. But this band is different, and we beat all the odds. And I think that's why we continue to beat the odds — because we're just different, man…. Whether you look at this band as theatrical or creative, there's just something that resonates with this band. And whether people hate us or love us, they respect the fact that, after sixteen years, we're still doing it, and we're still doing it bigger than we ever did. I mean, it's insane."
On how he manages to stay involved with so many different projects:
"It's exhausting sometimes, but I'm also the guy that, if I'm not into it, I don't do it — straight up. If I can't find my satisfaction in something, then I pass on it. I've turned down so many different things — different opportunities, different projects and whatnot — just because not only could I not find my place in it, but also because I just don't have the time. And I know that if I don't have the time, I'm not gonna be able to do something to the best of my ability. So, as crazy as it is, I'm able to do a lot of different stuff because I actually have the time to kind of focus on it — whether it's writing books or making albums or touring, or whatever. And honestly, I've gotten to a point in my life where I can afford to bring my family with me, which is a whole different thing. So it's very, very rarely that I don't have my family with me, so I'm very lucky in that respect. And that helps. Just having them to come home to, whether it's walking from the stage to the bus, or pulling up and getting them to bed, it's all good."
".5: The Gray Chapter" sold 132,000 copies in the U.S. in its first week of release to land at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 chart. 5

IN THIS MOMENT Plots 2016 Studio Return For New AlbumMike Karolyi of iRockRadio.com conducted an interview with guitarist Chris Howorth and bassist Travis Johnson of IN THIS MOMENT before the band's October 8 show at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. You can now watch the chat below. A couple of excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).
On IN THIS MOMENT's plans for 2016:
"We are right now working on our plan. We have a European tour that's already happening in January, to start everything off, and then we're looking to do some more stuff in the States. And the wheels are starting to crank on new music that's gonna be happening; we all kind of know it, we're feeling it. So I personally am predicting we're gonna be hitting the studio sometime later in 2016 to hopefully have something out before the end of the year or the beginning of 2017. So touring half the year, writing and recording latter half the year. It's kind of my loose prediction."
On continuing to put out studio albums:
"You've gotta do it, man. All the bands out there. These days, unless you're METALLICA, you can't wait five-six years between albums; you have to keep product out there, 'cause people will hear it and you'll do the tours, they'll see it live. And the only way to generate more buzz and get that hype going and get that fuel jetting and all the press and people like you wanting to talk to us, we need new topics and new stuff, man, and that's why we've gotta keep pumping it out."
On IN THIS MOMENT's tenth anniversary as a band:
"It's kind of hard to believe, but it's also like you're living it, and it never ends. You always think like you're gonna get this thing to happen, and then, 'We did it. We made it. We're here at the top of the mountain. Everything's great.' You think, 'Okay, I'm gonna sign a record deal. There it is. I put out an album. There it is. I go on tour. There it is.' But there's always some other plateau, so it seems like we're just constantly working to be this giant band and make it larger than life and be something that can last us for our whole lives, our career. And that's kind of been the main focus. So it's almost like ten years… It seems fast, but then I look at pictures of us from 2007, and it's, like, 'Oh my God! Look at these guys. They're like little kids and stuff.' Even him [pointing at Travis], I feel like he just joined the band, but he's been in the band for almost six years. And the other guys that are newer, they are like the 'new guys,' but they've been in the band for four years now — almsost two album cycles. So it's just crazy, man. Time flies."
IN THIS MOMENT's fifth album, "Black Widow", sold 36,000 copies in the U.S. during its first week of release to debut at No. 8 on The Billboard 200 chart.
IN THIS MOMENT signed with Atlantic Records in 2013 after completing its contract with Century Media Records. 2

JUDAS PRIEST's ROB HALFORD Still Wants To Make A Blues AlbumJUDAS PRIEST singer Rob Halford told Newsday.com that he is interested in recording a blues album and pursuing other non-heavy metal projects because he wants to find out what his voice can do. He said: "I've always felt that [the blues is] very much a part of my background and musical roots. I don't know what kind of blues album I could do because there are so many different facets [to explore]. Maybe I'll just mix it up. As far as stuff out of the metal world, I'm a fan of people like Michael Bublé and Michael Feinstein. I've always been a fan of Sinatra and Tony Bennett and Elvis. I'd love to hear what my voice would sound like in that kind of musical mix, with wind instruments, trumpets and sax, piano, just that big-band sound."
Halford credited his vocal versatility and ability to take his voice in "different directions" as the main reason he is "so interested in trying these other opportunities." He said: I think if I had a voice that was different to what it is and was a little more in one focus, maybe I wouldn't be as adventurous about my ideas. But because my voice is able to do those different things, it's instinctive and natural to see what else I can do."
Rob previously stated about his interest in making a blues record: "When I first became a musician in my late teens, I started to hear the extraordinary roots of the blues — Bessie Smith, Little Walter, Howling Wolf, Muddy Waters. They gave me the buzz… It's something I want to do because I want to explore what my voice can do in that wonderful world. That's how I learned to do a lot of that soaring, sweeping, and screeching. And also I discovered that I've got a voice that can go in different octaves, directions, and different kinds of projections. It's a combination of a sense of adventure and just being inspired by those guys, those wonderful singers. It's a mixture of everything but mainly a discovery of what the voice can do." 9

JOE SATRIANI And ROBIN DIMAGGIO Release 'Music Without Words' VideoWorld-renowned guitarist Joe Satriani and United Nations musical director Robin DiMaggio recently teamed up to compose a new song titled "Music Without Words", set for a digital release on November 4. A portion of all proceeds raised from downloads and streams will be donated to support UNICEF, the United Nations Children's Fund. The song was first unveiled at the June 30 "Annual Presidential General Assembly Of The UN 69th Session Gala" in New York City after being co-written by the two exclusively for the special event. The assembly and gala featured world dignitaries as well as the heads of states from nations across the globe. Accompanying the song is a dramatic music video directed by Ramin Ouladi, Los Angeles-based director, cinematographer, and editor, who developed the video concept.
"Joe and I had a concept of doing a song about healing, where the music spoke without words. That's why I think we called it 'Music Without Words'," DiMaggio explains. "When it came time to add some images, it was tough to create abundance through visual statements. Ramin was the perfect addition. He brought a palette of pastels needed to make the story sync with the music.” The video is premiering today on Yahoo! and can be viewed below. DiMaggio offers: "I am sure that when the audience, young and wisely aged, watches this, they will feel the message, whether they just listen to the audio or intensely watch the video." "Collaborating with Robin evolved naturally," Satriani says. "Starting with him challenging me to create a melody that would touch the hearts of seven billion people, a call to humanity; a message of love. I'm thrilled with the song and this video fits the music perfectly." The song also features vocals from Ms. Monet, a Grammy-award-winning vocalist, songwriter and performer who has sung with everyone from Boz Scaggs to Faith Hill, TOTO and Queen Latifah. It was DiMaggio's decision, as the producer, to blend the beauty of Ms. Monet's vocals with Satriani's guitar to create such an incredibly moving piece. Satriani recently released 15th solo album, "Shockwave Supernova", and is celebrating his 30th year as a recording artist with the "Surfing To Shockwave" 2016 tour. U.S. dates begin in late February and continue through April.
Satriani is the world's most commercially successful solo guitar performer, with six gold and platinum discs to his credit (including one more gold award for the debut album by his band CHICKENFOOT), and sales in excess of ten million copies. The critically acclaimed guitarist also has 15 Grammy nominations for songs such as "Always With Me, Always With You", "The Crush Of Love" and "Summer Song", as well as full albums like "Surfing With The Alien", "The Extremist" and "Super Colossal".

DAVE MUSTAINE Wanted To Re-Record MEGADETH's 'Killing Is My Business' Album With Current LineupThe four members of MEGADETH — Dave Mustaine (guitar, vocals), David Ellefson (bass), Kiko Loureiro (guitar) and Chris Adler (drums) — took part in a press conference on November 3 at the Tass Russian news agency in Moscow, Russia. You can now watch the question-and-answer session in three parts below. Photos are available at GettyImages.co.uk.
Asked about the rumored 30th-anniversary reissue of MEGADETH's debut album, 1985's "Killing Is My Business... And Business Is Good!", Mustaine said: "It's not a rumor. It's the thirtieth anniversary of it, so they wanted to remix it, and… I thought it would be better if we just completely re-recorded it with this new lineup, 'cause I think that would be really exciting, but we were in the process of making [the new MEGADETH] record ['Dystopia']."
Adler added that he would "love to" play more songs from "Killing Is My Business... And Business Is Good!" at MEGADETH's concerts and named "The Skull Beneath The Skin" and "Looking Down The Cross" as two of his favorites from the LP. He said: "We've been talking about that as we go. And especially with the reissue coming out, it would be fun to do it."
Mustaine also talked about people misconceptions about him in an age of social media and the ability to record every moment of our lives — by photos, videos, text, so on. He said: "I think people make judgments about me, and they don't know me. They read things and they think that's who I am. A sound bite or something that you read in a magazine, when it's spoken in English to somebody whose native tongue isn't English and they translate it into their native tongue, sometimes it's lost in the translation."
He continued: "I think probably the biggest misconception is that I am not approachable. I am very approachable. I really enjoy spending time with our fans and goofing around with them. I like having fun with Twitter and Periscope, answering questions with our fans. And I think that sarcasm can be mistaken real easily for being mean-spirited. And, you know, I'm sarcastic; I can't help it."
MEGADETH's fifteenth studio album, "Dystopia", will be released on January 22, 2016. The follow-up to 2013's "Super Collider" was recorded earlier in the year in Nashville, Tennessee and was mixed by Josh Wilbur, who has previously worked with LAMB OF GOD, ALL THAT REMAINS and GOJIRA. 48

DISCHARGE Signs With NUCLEAR BLASTNuclear Blast Records has announced the signing of British legends DISCHARGE. Formed in 1977 by Terry "Tezz" Roberts, his twin brother Tony "Bones" Roberts and Royston "Rainy" Wainwright, DISCHARGE is cited as a key influence by renowned artists such as METALLICA and ANTHRAX.
The band states: "DISCHARGE are very happy to say we've signed to Nuclear Blast Records, a label that knows the genre and believes in what we do. We love the family atmosphere that revolves around the label and we are proud to be on their roster of great bands, some of whom are friends of ours.
"We're excited about our new album, 'End Of Days', with three quarters of the original classic lineup (Bones, Rainy and Tezz), plus Dave on drums and JJ Janiak on vocals — who captures the original DISCHARGE sound and spirit. Original drummer Tezz moves on to rhythm guitar, so this is the first time in the band's history that we've had a five-piece lineup.
"'End Of Days' are upon us, but it‘s just the beginning for us with Nuclear Blast... the nightmare continues!".
Nuclear Blast owner Markus Staiger adds: "Signing DISCHARGE is a longtime dream come true. I grew up listening to hardcore and punk and DISCHARGE were one of my favorite bands from the beginning. DISCHARGE were more extreme and more fucked up than everything else. With their first EP, 'Why', and their debut, 'Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing', DISCHARGE created classics which I know by heart and strongly influenced me. Bands like METALLICA, SLAYER, ANTHRAX, MACHINE HEAD and SOULFLY have covered songs by DISCHARGE, attracted by their British uniqueness.
"I'm proud to be able to welcome DISCHARGE to the Nuclear Blast family. In crust we trust!"
"End Of Days" is scheduled for a 2016 release.
The official video for a new DISCHARGE song, "NWO", can be seen below.
DISCHARGE is:

On The Tour Bus With FEAR FACTORY's BURTON C. BELL (Video)FEAR FACTORY vocalist Burton C. Bell is featured in the latest episode of Digital Tour Bus's "Bus Invaders", which takes you inside the touring vehicle of one of today's top touring acts. The footage was shot on August 6 in Chicago, Illinois.
FEAR FACTORY celebrated its 25th anniversary with three West Coast shows last month.
In a recent interview with CrypticRock.com, Bell stated about the band hitting the quarter-century mark: "I never expected this. I never even hoped for such a journey. It has had its ups and downs, certainly, but [I have] no regrets. Through everything we have been through, it has been quite a ride, quite an experience, quite a life experience, actually, and no, I would not take anything back."
Bell also talked about his ability to combine clean singing and growling, which has helped distinguish him from the more typical death metal vocal style popular at the start of FEAR FACTORY's recording career. He said: "I was never a death metal fan or much of a metal fan at all. I was coming from an industrial, goth, post-punk type of background. Dino was into that too. The band we both liked simultaneously was GODFLESH; that is where we connected. The band we were in prior to FEAR FACTORY was called ULCERATION, and it was a GODFLESH rip-off band. We started a new band, started writing music. We had a few songs and then one day as a joke, Dino was playing this riff, so just for fun I started singing along with it. He stopped me and was like, 'What are you doing? That sounds great! Do it again.' [Laughs] So I did it and that song turned out to be 'Big God/Raped Souls' off of 1992's 'Soul Of A New Machine'. For me, I was imitating GODFLESH, and where Justin Broadrick does a haunting moan, I was actually singing, and that is how it all came about."
Regarding where he still finds the inspiration to write music and lyrics twenty-five years into FEAR FACTORY's career, Bell said: "There is so much passion. I love what I do, and there is plenty in this world to be angry at. Shit happens daily. You think, 'What the fuck!' I get disgusted with humanity daily. It is, like, how can we do this to ourselves? "
He continued: "I will always have that passion to translate into FEAR FACTORY. It is a sad state of affairs, but it is true. I have been around long enough to see things come and go and come back around again."
FEAR FACTORY's new album, "Genexus", was released on August 7 via Nuclear Blast Entertainment.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD Recruits Ex-BAD RELIGION Drummer BROOKS WACKERMANAVENGED SEVENFOLD has recruited Brooks Wackerman (BAD RELIGION, INFECTIOUS GROOVES) as its new drummer. As promised a couple of days ago, the news was revealed on this week's edition of the "Talk Is Jericho" podcast hosted by FOZZY singer Chris Jericho.
"To be honest, Brooks's name has always been in the mix," AVENGED SEVENFOLD frontman M. Shadows said. "It was one of the names we were throwing around when Jimmy [original AVENGED SEVENFOLD drummer James 'The Rev' Sullivan] passed away in terms of who was going to step up for [the 2010 album] 'Nightmare'. We felt Mike [Portnoy, ex-DREAM THEATER] was the right choice and we still feel that way. Mike just destroyed on the record. He was perfect. But at the time, our tour manager brought up Brooks's name as well. But at the time he was also busy with BAD RELIGION and it was also… People were going to look at it differently because he was a punk drummer at this point."
AVENGED SEVENFOLD had been working with a new drummer for over a year already following the departure of Arin Ilejay. Although Ilejay left the group quite some time ago, his departure was only announced this past July.
"It just became increasingly difficult to be on the same page, not only touring, but with writing and just where we want to take things," explained M. Shadows. "We're just a bunch of guys who are all over the place and we have a bunch of different influences and we need somebody who can instantly… who can sit there and say, 'Yeah, I've got that influence too or I understand why we're gonna go here. I understand why we're going to do that.'"
He continued: "It just got to the point where after Mayhem Festival last year, we had just decided to fire on all cylinders the way we want to, we needed to make a change. And we all had our little talk. We said, 'Listen, we can ride this thing out the way it is right now and we'll be fine or we can shake the nest a little bit and we want to fire on all cylinders again. We want to be the baddest band on the planet. We want to just dominate onstage.' And I came up with the idea that I really want to talk to Brooks and see if there's any chance and see where he's at in his life right now."
He went on to say: "Jimmy's missing and you're not trying to replace that and you're just trying to get to the point where if you were to tear this thing to the bottom floor, how would you rebuild it — to just say new band, new mentality, new fire. And one of the things was, 'Let's give Brooks a call and see what he's doing.' It wasn't like we were going to start trying guys out and we were serious about this change. It was, like, 'If Brooks is willing to do this, that's what we want to do.' So it wasn't like we were gonna just start looking for drummers."
Wackerman told the "Talk Is Jericho" podcast: "I've been a fan of the band for a decade and when Matt [M. Shadows] gave me the call last year, I was absolutely thrilled.
"This past year I have been reassessing what I want to do. With a band like BAD RELIGION, I'm so proud of all the work we've done together. But I was yearning for something new, a different style and during that time is when I got the call."
Ilejay was AVENGED SEVENFOLD's drummer for four years, playing on 2013's "Hail To The King" album. In announcing his exit, the band thanked him for his "positive energy" but added that it "needed to move in a different direction."
AVENGED SEVENFOLD has been working on material for its seventh album, but has not revealed many details about the project yet. M. Shadows told "Talk Is Jericho": "The idea of the last record was a very stripped-down sound and the idea of the next is a not very stripped-down sound."
Wackerman announced his departure from BAD RELIGION on October 28, explaining in a statement that "it was time" for him "to pursue another path."
Wackerman joined BAD RELIGION in 2001 and made his studio debut with the band on 2002's "The Process Of Belief" album. 2

Watch MARTY FRIEDMAN Perform 'Amagi Goe' For EMGtvFormer MEGADETH guitarist Marty Friedman took to the EMGtv stage for the first time with this performance of "Amagi Goe". With the EMG 81X and EMG 60X humbuckers, you can hear all of the nuance and style in Marty's guitar playing. These pickups truly highlight the subtlety in his sustain and the ferocity in his picking.
With his first live appearances in North America in more than a decade, Friedman recently mesmerized fans across the continent in support of his Billboard-charting, critically acclaimed 2014 solo album "Inferno". Now, Friedman has announced that he'll return Stateside once again in early 2016. Following a solo guitar clinic in Mexico City, the second American leg of the "Inferno" world tour will kick off in Phoenix on February 8, with support on most dates provided by HOLY GRAIL.
Tickets will go on sale on this Friday, November 6 at 10 a.m. local time. VIP packages, which include the opportunity for fans to watch Friedman perform during soundcheck before getting a special one-on-one meet-and-greet and photo opportunity, are on-sale now in limited quantities at store.prostheticrecords.com/martyvip! (Please note: concert admission is not included with VIP packages and must be purchased separately.)
Immediately following the tour, Friedman will appear on the inaugural 2016 Axes & Anchors cruise, where he will perform two sets and host a guitar clinic. Reservations can be made now at www.axesandanchors.com.
"Inferno" sold around 2,100 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 186 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was released on May 26, 2014 via Prosthetic Records (except in Japan, where the album was made available through Universal Music). The CD was the 52-year-old musician's first collection of material recorded for the U.S. market since 2003's "Music For Speeding". Among the guest collaborators that appear on the effort are CHILDREN OF BODOM's Alexi Laiho, REVOCATION's Dave Davidson, acoustic flamenco-metal hybridists RODRIGO Y GABRIELA and Friedman's pre-MEGADETH bandmate in CACOPHONY, Jason Becker.
Speaking to Guitar World magazine, Friedman said: Each of the guests on this record took a song from scratch — they would write it and then I would arrange it and add my parts to it. That way we were both invested in it and it's a little bit of a deeper experience."
Friedman described the new album as the most "Marty" record has has done in years. "I figured if I was going to come back to America, I was going to come back big and give people something they want out of me," he told the magazine. "And I know that what they want is not some avant-garde thing. What they want is just the most intense writing and playing I can do." 1

RESURRECTION KINGS Feat. VINNY APPICE, CRAIG GOLDY: 'Who Do You Run To' VideoFrontiers Music Srl will release of the highly anticipated self-titled debut album from RESURRECTION KINGS on January 29, 2016.
RESURRECTION KINGS is a new so-called "supergroup" featuring singer Chas West (TRIBE OF GYPSIES, LYNCH MOB), guitarist Craig Goldy (DIO, GIUFFRIA, ROUGH CUTT, DIO DISCIPLES), bassist Sean McNabb (DOKKEN, GREAT WHITE) and drummer Vinny Appice (DIO, BLACK SABBATH, HEAVEN & HELL).
Everything began with a set of demos Goldy recorded with singer West, a guy with an unbelievable set of pipes.
West said: "It started about five years ago when Craig Goldy contacted me and said he'd like to do something, do a project. 'Let's get together and write.' Because we had played together, doing some covers in an all-star thing called the HOLLYWOOD ALLSTARZ."
Added Goldy: "I was contacted by Serafino [Perugino], the president of Frontiers. He wanted to do an album with famous guys from the '80s, and I was absolutely flabbergasted that they came to me for it, so I was more than happy to say yes."
Said Appice: "Craig told me he was doing this project and he needed somebody to play drums on it, and he'd love for me to come check it out. He played me a couple of songs, I loved it, so I said, 'Yeah, I'll do it.' So I laid all the drum tracks down, sent them back, and I thought it came out great." Frontiers in-house writer and producer Alessandro Del Vecchio (REVOLUTION SAINTS, HARDLINE, RATED X) offered his services to the band and wrote (or co-wrote with Goldy) a few tracks to round out the material that was available.
Regarding the songwriting process for RESURRECTION KINGS' debut CD, Goldy said: "Originally, I had the music [for the song 'Living Out Loud']… I had learned the hard way that you've gotta start off with a good groove, and then you come up with a cool riff and then you come up with some simple chord progressions and then a melody line. And then, once the melody line is established, and we're starting to work on lyrics, that's when you can go back and kind of mess with the chords and stuff to make them more interesting. But we kind of had the outline of the song already, and then I presented that to Chas and him and I just started doing the process that's supposed to be. The first thing he did is just start improvising, what came naturally. So it came from his heart and it came from his talent."
Goldy also spoke about some of the other tracks on RESURRECTION KINGS' debut album which were written by producer Alessandro Del Vecchio. He said: "[Alessandro] is an amazing songwriting [and] a great producer, a keyboard player. I think he plays guitar and stuff as well. He's a great singer too. I can't wait for people to hear how he sings. So some of the demo versions already had vocals, drums, bass and guitar on them. So we would learn the songs, and then we'd do them our way. It was something Alessandro and I called 'Goldy-izing.' 'Cause we would get these demos, and they'd be kind of in an odd kind of shape, and so I would Goldy-ize it and turn it into something that I thought would be more interesting. Once Vinny and Sean got ahold of these songs, they really came alive. 'Cause a lot of the times, songwriters will write demos to drum machines, which is fine, 'cause it's just basically a sketch, and then you turn that sketch into an oil painting. And so when Vinny and Sean got ahold of these songs, it really came alive. So that gave me automatic inspiration on top of a great song that Alessandro had already written." Appice and Goldy played sporadic shows earlier in the year as part of BLACK KNIGHTS RISING, also featuring bassist Elliott Rubinson (Uli Jon Roth, MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP, Carmine Appice) and vocalists Tim "Ripper" Owens (JUDAS PRIEST, ICED EARTH, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, DIO DISCIPLES) and John West (BADLANDS, LYNCH MOB, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA).
After joining DIO in 1987, Goldy became Ronnie James Dio's right-hand man and went on to co-write such DIO classics as "Dream Evil", "One More For The Road" and "As Long As It's Not About Love".

GILBY CLARKE On His Exit From GUNS N' ROSES: 'One Day The Checks Stopped Coming'In a brand new interview with Front Row Ravers, former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Gilby Clarke was asked about his time with the group more than two decade ago. He responded: "I can't really tell you anything new. It's been 25 years and the stories have all been told. When I joined the band, it was a popular band. It was easier for me coming in, as the band was successful. What was hard was fitting in the group that had already existed, personality-wise, musically and things like that. I was a good match — my guitar playing fit, my image fit and my personality fit. These are the key things that don't usually fit always. They enjoyed having new blood around too. The easy stuff was we were playing sold-out concerts and records were selling. The hard part is when records aren't selling, and concerts aren't selling."
Regarding how his journey with GUNS N' ROSES ended, Clarke said: "Well, [it was] really simple. Axl [Rose, GUNS N' ROSES lead singer] one day just wanted to change things up. I honestly didn't know what he wanted to do. He never talked to me directly; I always dealt with Slash. There was one week I was in the band and then the next week he was just pissed off with something. And finally one day the checks stopped coming. That's how it all ended."
Clarke was asked earlier in the month by podcast host Eddie Trunk for his thoughts on a GN'R reunion, following reports that long-estranged singer Axl Rose and guitarist Slash had recently repaired their relationship. Clarke, who was not an original member of the group, said: "It's strange. I mean, obviously, we've all heard [the rumors]. I actually did not know the news that Slash and Axl had talked, I didn't know, and I see him all the time. I don't know… I mean, obviously, it would be great for music if it did happen."
Clarke added that he has not heard anything about a reunion from anyone in the band and said that he didn't think a reunion would actually happen. "No, I really don't," he said. As for whether he might be asked to participate, Clarke said: "I think if it happened, obviously, it would be great, but I've got to be realistic. The fans want the original five guys, and I do too. It was a great band, [and] it would be great to see that. If it did happen, I would definitely be available to do it."
Clarke replaced founding guitarist Izzy Stradlin in the GUNS lineup in 1991, during the "Use Your Illusion" tour, and stayed with the band for three years.
He has continued as a producer and solo artist since then, while also playing in ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA, HEART and other acts.
Clarke reunited with GUNS members Slash, Steven Adler, Matt Sorum and Duff McKagan at the band's Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction in April 14, 2012, although he himself was not inducted as part of the band.
Slash's revelation in August that he and Axl had repaired their relationship after nearly 20 years immediately led to speculation about the classic GUNS lineup reuniting, although Slash has refused to speak about the matter.

Maryann Cotton previously stated: “As many of you know, I lost my mentor, producer, co-writer, and my friend Dick Wagner last year, which led to a lot of personal and emotional distractions for me. I was most honoured to perform at the Dick Wagner Remember The Child Memorial Concert at the Fillmore in Detroit this year, where we celebrated his beautiful friendship and majestic legacy. I was enveloped in the warm welcome of so many great musicians and Dick Wagner fans. This has helped me to move forward, as my Maestro would so encourage.
“Dick and I managed to finish all the songs and pre-production for our announced album Chester Rose – The Legend Begins – but we never reached the studio process. When he died, we were in negotiations with one of the world’s biggest record companies, and future plans were falling into place.
“My manager Susan Michelson, Dick Wagner’s business partner and personal manager, has continued moving ahead with the project and is currently working on contracts and related details. The record company remains very enthusiastic about the Chester Rose concept. They are dedicated to recording Dick Wagner's final album, but the many details of this substantial project and its offshoots take some time to fall into place. I cannot wait till our album is ready to share with you!
“With all that said… I’m proud to let you know that I secretly over four months has been in a writing, studio recording, and mixing / mastering process, and completed a full new album – to please my fans. I have together with my manager decided to release the album in autumn, which also means new upcoming shows and tour this year.”
