GODSMACK singer Sully Erna, who has been pursuing an acting career over the past few years, recently that he's going to start shooting his next movie early next year. A Thunderclap crowdfunding page for the film, titled "Black Files", has been launched, featuring a teaser and synopsis, which reads as follows: "The family of the U.S. Ambassador in an East-European country is slaughtered. The world's media attention is now pointed at Sofia, Bulgaria. Top CIA agent is assigned to find out who is responsible for the assault. He recruits a local rookie cop and they dig deeper into world of corruption, terrorism and international crime. The deeper they go, the more they realize that the truth is hidden behind 'non-existing' powerful organization, named Black Files."

Erna recently told The Pulse Of Radio about the movie: "There's a company that approached me. They're really, really great filmmakers, and they're gonna be doing this really cool film and shooting it in Bulgaria. And it's a movie about terrorism and international organized crime and stuff like that. It's based on, you know, Russian KGB and, you know, all that whole kind of vibe. Really really cool — kind of like a darker 'Mission: Impossible'-style movie."

Erna and Marilyn Manson earlier in the year both landed roles in a new movie called "Street Level", with Erna also contributing music to the soundtrack. The film is expected out on Christmas Day and the writer, producer and director is David Labrava, best known for playing Happy on "Sons Of Anarchy".

This appears to be the same project that Erna mentioned in an interview last year, when he said he was shooting a pilot for a new TV series along with Labrava and other "Sons Of Anarchy" cast members. It now seems that the project has been turned into a film, with a trailer also surfacing online.

Erna's other roles include a small part in the Martin Scorsese-produced "Bleed For This" and a lead role in the recent low-budget horror movie "Army Of The Damned".

GODSMACK last week released a new song called "Inside Yourself" as a free download at the band's official web site.

NINE INCH NAILS guitarist Robin Finck and musician Wordclock (Pedro Pimentel) are set to release their evocative soundtrack to upcoming survival horror game "Noct" digitally worldwide on October 22 via Laced Records to coincide with the release of the game. The 10-track album marks the first time the NINE INCH NAILS guitarist has worked on a game soundtrack and the first time the publisher Devolver have teamed up with such a massive artist.

The game itself sees Earth as a ruined wasteland engulfed in perpetual darkness. Older than any recorded texts, an ancient evil has descended upon the world without warning, consuming the population and leaving only despair behind in its wake. The unfortunate survivors of this purge now struggle to overcome the horrific terrors of the Nocturnal.

Comments Finck: "I was invited into the world of 'Noct' to complement the established work of Wordclock, and to collaborate, bringing a spirited sense of melody and hope to an utterly devastated terrain, one enshrouded in despair and haunted by… creepy fucking monsters. It has been a hair-raising experience, cooperating to design the immersion of this audio trek. The team are each scrupulous creatures and together we enjoy turning over many stones."

The soundscape to "Noct" resides somewhere between the player and the Survivor, a line that is decisively blurred. For Robin, the idea of satellites and surveillance was a cornerstone to creating the soundtrack. He says: "We followed intuition. Felt the terrain beckoned a spacious, distant longing for the Survivor to trek through, with fleeting moments of hope, like indirect memories. We sometimes found ourselves outside the scope of the game, cascading toward some epic or song structure, and had to real it back in to this forlorn quest. Mostly just followed the muse, step by unsteady step."

Though the soundtrack to a survival horror game, the music at times is more hopeful than haunting, creating the sense of the horror of being "approached." Within the game, things can turn unexpectedly creating an unnerving tension and the illusion that all is well.

With Robin based in California and Wordclock in Portugal, the duo worked together via Skype and Dropbox, exchanging ideas and concepts.

While there were going to be no words or vocals on the soundtrack, or a live show to consider, the pair knew there was always going to be a sense of randomness to the music to support the constantly changing states within the game. Robin also found that the way himself and Wordclock worked together at times mimicked the players within the game itself. "We shored our clocks together for weekly or daily hook-ups," he says. "For me, it kinda supported the idea of a lone survivor, seeking assistance of an anonymous entrant, maybe a little unsure, plenty to wonder about… like the game. It was pretty cool. But then I'm a little nuts."

"Noct" the game is set for release on PC, Mac, and Linux on October 22 through independent developer C3SK and noted survivalist game label Devolver Digital.

Finck has worked with NINE INCH NAILS since 1994.

The new CHASTAIN album "We Bleed Metal" will be released worldwide on November 6. It is the follow-up to the band's 2013 reunion CD "Surrender To No One". That release marked the return of original vocalist Leather Leone. She has long been considered one of the originators of the female power metal vocal style. Leather was the vocalist on the classic CHASTAIN albums: "Mystery Of Illusion", "Ruler Of The Wasteland", "The 7th Of Never", "The Voice Of The Cult" and "For Those Who Dare". Also returning to the band is original bassist Mike Skimmerhorn. The drums are now being handled by Stian Kristoffersen (PAGAN'S MIND, FIREWIND).

Guitarist David T. Chastain states: "This new album is a continuation of the sound we created on 'Surrender To No One'.

"We still have a foot in the past but we are also embracing the future.

"I tried to write on some subjects that are important to me: The financial systems inevitable downfall, religious insanity, mankind's self-destructive nature, our own self-preservation and few other esoteric topics.

"Leather proves on the new CD she hasn't lost anything from her glory days.

"Stian's kicks the band to the next level, as he is the youngest member with the most modern influences.

"I think this is my most 'shredtastic' CHASTAIN guitar work since 'The 7th Of Never' era.

She continues: "The title track, 'We Bleed Metal', should be a battle cry for all who live and love metal! The song is about the camaraderie between metal lovers and overcoming the struggle, barriers and stigmas society places on the music. 'We will sacrifice and we will pay the price 'cause we bleed metal!'"

The Leather-fronted version of CHASTAIN recorded five CDs in the mid-to-late 1980s: 1985's "Mystery Of Illusion", 1986's "Ruler Of The Wasteland", 1987's "The 7th Of Never", 1988's "The Voice Of The Cult" and 1990's "For Those Who Dare". After the "For Those Who Dare" tour, David and Leather amicably went their separate ways but kept in touch over the years before reuniting in 2013.

Leather in 2012 released the debut album from her SLEDGE LEATHER project, "Imagine Me Alive". The CD was inspired in 2010 when Leather called Sandy Sledge to collaborate on the Ronnie James Dio track "Egypt" for a demo tribute recording. Due to the overwhelming response for more material, SLEDGE LEATHER was born and performed at Germany's Keep It True festival in April 2011.

Frontiers Music Srl will release the sophomore album from MAGNUS KARLSSON'S FREEFALL, "Kingdom Of Rock", on November 6.

Magnus Karlsson is the mastermind behind several Frontiers Music Srl productions, including the successful initial ALLEN/LANDE trilogy, STARBREAKER, BOB CATLEY, KISKE/SOMERVILLE and several others. In 2008, he joined the German heavy metal icons PRIMAL FEAR and with them has toured the world and recorded three successful albums that climbed high on the charts in several countries.

For this new album — aptly titled "Kingdom Of Rock" — Magnus enlisted again a dream team featuring some of the strongest melodic singers in metal and hard rock! Magnus says: "I didn't plan to make a second FREEFALL album at first but one album wasn't enough for my wish list of singers… so after the summer last year, I started on some ideas. Without pressure or a deadline… just for fun. So I started to look at the list with singers and thought if can I get these guys on board, I will work harder than ever before to make the best album I could. I wanted not only some of the best singers I ever heard, but singers that meant a lot to me and that have given me inspiration. For example: Tony Martin and Joe Lynn Turner… I grew up with their music and that made me the musician I am today. It feels unreal to make music with them now!"

"You Can't Stop Me", SUICIDE SILENCE's first album to feature vocalist Hernan "Eddie" Hermida and their first since the tragic loss of singer Mitch Lucker, was released in July 2014 via Nuclear Blast Entertainment.

"You Can't Stop Me" was produced and mixed by Steve Evetts (SEPULTURA, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN), who worked with the band not only on "The Black Crown", but also on some instrumental demos for the new CD just prior to Lucker's death in the fall of 2012.

Mitch Lucker died November 1, 2012 after sustaining injuries in a motorcycle crash in Huntington Beach that Halloween night.

METALLICA has reportedly been working on its tenth studio album, which will follow up 2008's "Death Magnetic".

Drummer Lars Ulrich told Rolling Stone magazine that the band doesn't want to record in a way that feels "labored over and overthought."

METALLICA has spent a lot of time outside the studio in the last year, with activities that included a string of European all-request shows last summer, a week-long residency on "The Late Show With Craig Ferguson", and a Rock In Rio USA stint.

METALLICA has not revealed when it plans to begin recording or tentatively release the new album.

JUDAS PRIEST singer Rob Halford recently told the Q104 radio station in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada about the band's plans to record the follow-up album to last year's "Redeemer Of Souls": "Well, you know, in rock and roll, you've gotta kind of strike while the iron is hot, and that iron has been burning hot for decades for PRIEST now. It doesn't show any sign of cooling off, I can tell you that. The cool thing about where we're at right now is, of course, having Richie [Faulkner, new PRIEST guitarist] with us and having gone through that first writing experience together [on 'Redeemer Of Souls']. We were so motivated to keep writing as we were going along, but our label had a time schedule for us to keep, so we had to put the brakes on and start recording the songs that we'd written. And with that in mind, we're raring to go again, and I'm sure there'll be another PRIEST record in the not-too-distant metal future."

"Who knew that this band would be still making metal over forty glorious years later. And in no short measure have we stayed this course without the most incredible fans that we have — all of our PRIEST fans. We know you guys have been following PRIEST, and some of you have made long journeys to come and see us in different places, so we owe you guys a debt of gratitude for looking after us for so long and keeping the PRIEST alive. And that's what we're doing now."

Asked whether he feels that "the clock is ticking" on JUDAS PRIEST's recording and touring career, Rob said: "Yeah, the clock is ticking, [but] we’re trying to hold it back. [Laughs] But it's great, man. I've gotta tell you, this band is having the time of its life, and we're very excited to be back out on the road after a short break from our last show, in Wacken in Germany at the big heavy metal festival there in front of eighty thousand heavy metal maniacs. So we're still bringing the fire and the metal with us wherever we go."

"Redeemer Of Souls" was released in July 2014. The follow-up to 2008's double-disc concept album "Nostradamus" was billed as a return to JUDAS PRIEST's heavy-metal roots.

"Redeemer Of Souls" sold around 32,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 6 on The Billboard 200 chart.

Candlelight Records has set a November 13 as release date for "Razed To The Ground", the new album from New York's VISION OF DISORDER. Produced by Chris "Zeuss" Harris (HATEBREED, DEMON HUNTER, ROB ZOMBIE), it is the band's second recording for Candlelight. In conjunction with the release, the band has confirmed a special November 14 Long Island performance at Revolution Music Hall in Amityville, New York. Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday, September 18.

Belphegor recently announced their European Conjuring The Dead Raid in support of their current release, Conjuring The Dead.

The Belphegor horde, led by band founder Helmuth Lehner, will launch their crushing assault on European clubs alongside US death metallers Vital Remains and Polish death/black metal group Hate, as well as Liverpool-based symphonic black metallers, Ethereal. "Braveheart", the new video from CIVIL WAR — the Swedish metal band featuring former SABATON members Rikard Sundén (guitar), Daniel Mullback (drums) and Daniel Mÿhr (keyboards) alongside singer Patrik Johansson (ASTRAL DOORS, LION'S SHARE), and guitarist Petrus Granar — can be seen below. The song is taken from CIVIL WAR's sophomore album, "Gods And Generals", which was released in May via Napalm Records.

Asked about the "Gods And Generals" album title, Patrik Johansson told Sound The Charge! web site: "Well, when we were about to come up with our debut, we came over this trilogy about the American civil war and the titles were so fucking good. We just said: this is us. However I cannot guarantee you that our next album will be called 'The Last Full Measure'…. It would be too easy, right?"

Johansson also spoke about CIVIL WAR's SABATON connection and whether it has made it easier for CIVIL WAR to get tours and recognition in the metal scene. He said: "Of course, this whole SABATON thing has made it easier for us to achieve fame. No doubt about that. On the other hand it is tough for us to convince the 'real' music fans that we actually are a good band since most of the real metal fans hate SABATON. So it's both good and bad."

CIVIL WAR's debut CD, "The Killer Angels", was certified gold in Sweden by the International Federation Of The Phonographic Industry for sales in excess of 20,000 copies.

"The Killer Angels" was distributed in Sweden via the June 2013 issue of Sweden Rock Magazine and each copy of the magazine containing the CD was counted towards the certification; the album was also sold separately. CIVIL WAR's debut EP was released on November 13, 2012 via Despotz Records.

As previously reported, GHOST will perform on the October 30 episode of "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert". The show airs at 11:35 p.m. EST / 10:35 p.m. CST on CBS.

GHOST's third album, "Meliora", entered The Billboard 200 chart at position No. 8 with first-week sales of just over 29,000 units — nearly all from pure album sales. The set follows the No. 28-peaking "Infestissumam", which was released in 2013 and has sold almost 70,000 copes in the U.S. to date.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).

"Meliora" was released on August 21 via Loma Vista Recordings. The CD was helmed by Klas Åhlund, a prolific songwriter, producer and guitarist who is also a member of the Swedish rock band TEDDYBEARS, and was mixed by Andy Wallace (SLAYER, NIRVANA, SEPULTURA, LINKIN PARK, GUNS N' ROSES).

SOUNDGARDEN singer Chris Cornell was joined on stage by his 11-year-old daughter Toni last night (Monday, October 19) at the Beacon Theatre in New York City for an acoustic performance of the Bob Marley track "Redemption Song". Fan-filmed video footage of her appearance can be seen below.

Prior to the "Redemption Song" duet, Cornell told the crowd that he'd recently performed with Toni at an assembly at her school, and it made him more nervous than opening for METALLICA in front of 40,000 people.

Cornell kicked off the "Higher Truth" tour on September 18 in San Diego, California at the Balboa Theatre. The trek will wind down on November 4 in Phoenix, Arizona at the Orpheum Theatre.

Cornell's fourth solo studio set, "Higher Truth", was released on September 18. His first album on his own since 2009's controversial "Scream" is in the singer-songwriter vein and very different from his work with SOUNDGARDEN. Cornell told The Pulse Of Radio that that was the point of doing it. "Writing an album like 'Higher Truth', the same as it was writing any of my solo records, there's always this effort to try to make it different than the band that I'm known for," he said. "Mainly just 'cause I've never — as a music fan — never really liked when those two lines get kind of smeared."

"Become The Enemy", the new video from New Zealand's highest-charting rock act LIKE A STORM, can be seen below. The clip features the band performing amidst a raging ring of fire, and even features a flaming didgeridoo being played.

The video for "Become The Enemy" was directed by LIKE A STORM's longtime collaborator Chris Fisher, whose previous efforts with the band produced the multi-million-viewed "Love The Way You Hate Me" clip.

Dutch polyrhythmic metal maniacs TEXTURES will release "Phenotype" and "Genotype", two new albums based on one concept.

The sextet is not a band that puts out a record every year. The band took almost two and a half years to write and record albums No. 5 and 6.

Music is no fast food! Details are crafted and re-crafted. Extra layers are created and stretched to form the ultimate tension span for years to last.

American black metal legion, Abigail Williams, will release their first new full-length in three years via Candlelight Records on October 30th. Titled The Accuser and now featuring the punishing lineup of founding vocalist/guitarist Ken Sorceron (ex-Lord Mantis), guitarist Jeff Wilson (Wolvhammer, Chrome Waves, Doomsday, La Chant Funebre), and drummer Charlie Fell (Cobalt, ex-Lord Mantis, ex-Avichi) with recording bassist Will Lindsay (Indian, Lord Mantis, Anatomy Of Habit), the diseased offering was recorded, mixed and mastered in just five days by Sorceron at the band's home studio in Olympia, Washington, boasts a guest appearance by Neill Jameson (Krieg, Twilight) and includes the tripnotic cover renderings of Portland-based illustrator/tattoo artist, Stevie Floyd (Dark Castle, Taurus). Corrosive and grim, Abigail Williams' The Accuser will quickly be viewed as the band's best effort since their genesis in Los Angeles in 2004. The eight hymns comprising The Accuser are bleak, dark, and infinitely engrossing.

"It took three years to make this because I'm an indecisive bastard and I didn't want to make the same record again," confides Sorceron of the lengthy gap between full-lengths. "It felt unnatural to try and reproduce what I did on [2012's] Becoming," he continues, "which, up to that point I felt was our strongest album. So once again we are covering new ground with this release. The songs are the most personal to date with the themes mostly being about living shitty, addictions, sex, loss and failure all through the eyes of a nihilistic occultist shithead."

Perth, Australia’s death-metal quintet Sanzu will release their first full-length album and follow up to this year’s EP Painless on December 3. Norway’s Magenta have unleashed their new album, Songs For The Dead, a true masterpiece of dark & savage beauty. Leading off the campaign for the album is an official audio-video for the album’s first single “Ghost”, produced by Al Jorgenson of Ministry and featuring synths by Stephan Groth of Apoptygma Berzerk. “Ghost" is streaming below.

Magenta was formed by Vilde Lockert Odden and Anders Odden in 1995. They have always taken inspiration from the wide range of music they like and describe their work as a soundtrack to a movie you have to create in your head.

Anders Odden is well known in the international metal scene as guitarist for Norwegian black metal legends, Satyricon. His guitar prowness has also served well for Cadaver, Apoptygma Berzerk and Celtic Frost to name a few. But unlike any of these, Magenta is his main musical outlet as a composer/writer.

Songs For The Dead was borne through deep tragedy. The Magenta family had been invited to stay at Ministry leader, Al Jourgensen’s 13th Planet Studios compound during the Xmas of 2012. They arrived the same day that Ministry guitarist Mike Scaccia left after finishing some recording. Then shortly after, on December 22nd, news reached them that Mike passed away. Everyone at Al’s compound was overwhelmed with grief. To try to get somewhat back to normal in the midst of this, they all decided to record something. The Magentas daugther, Regine, had written a song called "Ghost" in the castle of Duke Hank Von Hell (ex-Turbonegro) the Xmas before. They recorded this track with Al's magic touch and the idea for the album dedicated to those who have past on, was born.

The album is like a requiem and is a new birth for Magenta. It is the first album Magenta have done that they feel represent them fully as the kind of musical entity they want. As Anders himself has said; "Magenta is my playground where I can be as diverse and melodic as I want to."

British rock 'n' rollers The Temperance Movement have released preview clips from their upcoming new studio album, White Bear. Audio samples for all tracks can be found below.

Due to be released on January 15th, 2016, the follow-up to their 2013 self-titled debut was recorded with producer Sam Miller in London, Northamptonshire and Monmouth and features 10 stomping new blues-rock anthems. The band will support White Bear with a UK tour which kicks off the day after the album's release.

The Temperance Movement guitarist, Paul Sayer confides, "White Bear is a real step on for us sonically and artistically. Playing so many shows together over the last 3 years allowed us to develop a really clear idea of where we wanted to go with our next record. When it came to making this album we had a bit more time and space to let our creativity go, and I'm incredibly proud of what we achieved."

Whilst on the album title, White Bear, singer Phil Campbell notes, "Nick called me with the title which inspired the lyric to the song. It refers to a study by Daniel Wenger on mindfulness and the controlling of unwanted thoughts, testing a quote from Dostoevsky's 'Winter Notes on Summer Impressions': 'Try to pose for yourself this task: not to think of a polar bear, and you will see that the cursed thing will come to mind every minute.”

Virginia metal band, Saint Diablo, has premiered a new music video for the title track of their upcoming sophomore album, Devil Horns And Halos. The video was directed by Scott Hansen at Digital Thunderdome Studios, and can be found below.

Guitarist Justin Adams states, “Ironically, “Devil Horns And Halos” was the last song we wrote for the album, we actually finished it in the studio as life threw us some pretty significant detours… I got divorced, Tito’s mother passed away, and shortly thereafter I was diagnosed with cancer.”

Vocalist Tito Quinones elaborates, “The song is about balance in the face of opposites. Things like love/hate, hope/despair, angels/demons, etc… We were facing some difficult decisions at that time, and I think our state of mind is reflected in this song.”

BLACK SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi received the Gibson Les Paul Award at the 2015 Q Awards, which took place Monday night (October 19) in London, England.

Iommi, who hass played a Gibson guitar for the duration of his career, was honored for his outstanding contribution to music, pop culture and as part of the 100th-anniversary celebrations of the birth of Les Paul guitars.

In a statement, Tony said: "I'm very honored to receive the Les Paul Award. So many thanks to Q magazine and Gibson. I have a long history with the guitar maker."

Q magazine editor Matt Mason added: "Tony is one of those rare guitar players in that he truly defines a genre and a sound.

"His influence is huge but, equally, there is a real finesse in his playing that often gets overlooked. It harks back to his early love of Django Reinhardt — the legendary gypsy-jazz guitarist — who was a formative influence on Tony.

"As with all great musicians, Tony hears the world in a totally unique way, and that is what the Gibson Les Paul celebrates."

Iommi said in a recent interview that BLACK SABBATH's upcoming farewell tour, which will begin in January 2016, is truly its last because he is not physically capable of doing it any longer. Speaking with the Birmingham Mail, Iommi explained, "I can't actually do this anymore. My body won't take it much more."

Iommi, who was diagnosed with lymphoma in 2012 and was treated all through SABBATH's extensive 2013 world tour, admitted that he was worried the rigors of the road could bring the disease back. He revealed: "I don't want that creeping back again, and all the traveling involved in SABBATH tours increasingly takes its toll. That's why we're going out on one last tour, to say our farewells. And then it very definitely is the end. We won't be doing it again."

The legendary guitarist continued: "Don't get me wrong, I still love gigging. It's all the traveling and the exhaustion that goes with it that's the problem. That side of things has a big impact on me… I love being up there onstage, playing with SABBATH. What I don't love is all the other stuff necessary to enable that to happen."

Iommi was also hospitalized recently with back problems, and he still requires blood tests every six weeks to monitor his lymphoma.

The tour kicks off on January 20 in Omaha and will encompass about a year, including breaks.

On the possibility of a new album to follow up 2013's reunion set "13", Iommi said: "I've been busy writing songs ever since the '13' sessions. At that point, we thought there might be another SABBATH album. But that's up in the air now so I don't know when or where they might appear. The tracks are ready, though."

Steve Newton at Ear Of Newt caught up with Juda Priest frontman Rob Halford in advance of the band's doubleheader at the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver October 27 and 28. Following is an excerpt from the interview.

Halford: “It’s cool that the bands that have really been able to stand the test of time are still here. Priest, Maiden, AC/DC, KISS. Metallica even, you know, Slayer. There’s a list of bands, probably less than 20 bands, that are still significant and powerful–and they’ve all been around for 30 years or more. How cool is that? I wonder where the bands that are doing so well and so strongly now, where are they gonna be in 30 years time, you know?

“I mean it’s just a hypothetical thought. Does it really matter? Not really. But I’m saying that the bands that I’ve just mentioned came from a different time. And it’s really cool also that the younger metalheads are still finding a connection with these bands that I’ve just mentioned. There’s all these hundreds and hundreds of bands to choose from, and they go, ‘You know what: I’m a Priest fan. I’m totally into Priest. That’s where I’m gonna stay. That’s where I’m gonna be a fan.’

“And that’s really heartwarming, and it’s also kind of scary, because (laughs), when I go into my Instagram and I see like a 16, 17-year-old metalhead from somewhere in the world who now starts following me I’m going, ‘Oh please God, can I just have another 30 years to do what I love?’. You know. ‘Cause I know that the clock is ticking.”

Former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Slash has told Inland Valley Daily Bulletin that the writing for his next record — the third album with MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS — is 90 percent completed. The plan is for the band to enter the studio in the spring to begin recording the disc for a late 2016 release.

"The stuff for the next record is really great," Slash said of the material. "One of the cool things about this band is that instead of peaking early and burning out is we've started at one place and escalated in terms of our creative inspiration."

He continued: "It keeps getting better from record to record, which is a really nice thing to have happen, so yeah, we just seem to get more in a groove the longer we stay together and the harder we work on the road and so on. It just seems to come out in the new material."

Asked if he prefers performing or recording in a studio, Slash said: "I live for live performing but I can't perform live if I don't record, ya know? I like writing and I like composing, seeing an idea through from beginning until it's a complete song and all that, but at the end of the day, it's all a means to get out on the road and play in front of an audience."

Slash recently said that the material for the follow-up to the 2014 album "World On Fire" was sounding "very rhythmic and that's definitely something that, for me personally, I'm going for." He added: "We'll see what that turns into. It changes. It sort of evolves; you start out with one idea and that sort of morphs into another idea. At this point it sounds like it's going to be really awesome, so I'm excited about it."

Slash told Classic Rock magazine about his songwriting approach: "On the road is the platform that I find is the easiest for me to work on new material," he said. "It's easier here than it is for me to do when I'm at home. So I just get going. I take my phone and I record ideas on the phone and then we jam stuff at soundchecks; when we have soundchecks. So we compile a bunch of ideas, and then when the tour is over, we go home and, sort of, hash them out."

"World On Fire" sold around 29,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 10 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD arrived in stores on September 16, 2014 via Slash's own label Dik Hayd International distributed through Roadrunner Records (Europe, Middle East, Africa and Latin America).

"World On Fire" is the second album to feature Slash's regular backing band, MYLES KENNEDY & THE CONSPIRATORS, and follows up 2012's "Apocalyptic Love", which sold around 38,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 4 on The Billboard 200 chart.

On Slash self-titled solo effort he employed a different vocalist on each track, before settling on ALTER BRIDGE member Kennedy for both touring and eventually recording.

Former HANOI ROCKS singer Michael Monroe has a track on his new studio album, "Blackout States", called "Deadhearts On Denmark Street".

Nicknamed Tin Pan Alley (because streets sound cooler when you name them after bits of New York), the 100-yard stretch right on the lip of London's Soho was, once upon a time, the center of the U.K. music industry. Many of the large music corporations started in the street and a number of world-famous artists — including THE KINKS, THE ROLLING STONES and Elton John — recorded their first tracks there. But now it is under threat from property developers and London's Crossrail project.

Michael recently came to visit the street to talk to the media and see the destruction for himself. As he says at the end of the clip below, "Don't let the music die on Denmark Street."

Writer and broadcaster Henry Scott-Irvine launched a Change.org petition last year, Don't Bin Tin Pan Alley, urging Camden Council to reconsider their support for developers Consolidated Developments' plans to redevelop Denmark Street.

"This is demolition," he told Mojo. "This should be stopped. Denmark St. and the surrounding St Giles area should be given full heritage status like Covent Garden Market, Hatton Garden, and Savile Row."
