STITCHED UP HEART Ink Worldwide Deal With Another Century; “Finally Free” Music Video PostedLos Angeles-based quintet, Stitched Up Heart, has officially inked a worldwide deal with Another Century, who will release their debut, full-length offering in spring of 2016. In the meantime, the group has debuted their striking new performance video for the brand new track “Finally Free,” which can be viewed below.
Mixi (vocals) states: “We are fired up about joining the Another Century team. There's an amazing group of people working hard behind the scenes on this band. We are honoured to be able to work with such experience, passion, and dedication. On top of all of it they have been my closest friends over the past couple years. Our video, “Finally Free”, will be our first release on the label and a perfect taste of what's next for Stitched Up Heart. There has been much growth internally and musically and "Finally Free" is a great representation of that. We are currently on tour right now till November and then will finish our first full length release for Another Century. Couldn't be more pumped for the next chapter!”
Stitched Up Heart have forged their path in sheer passion and earned their keep in physicality and volume. Both on the road and in the studio, frontwoman Mixi and the Los Angeles-based quintet face 2016 and their forthcoming Another Century debut with brazen confidence. “Finally Free” is the clarion call for the band’s day of reckoning. Recorded by producer Mitch Marlow and captured on video by director Ron Underwood (also known as the high-flying frontman for labelmates, 9Electric), “Finally Free” delivers on the promise hinted at on their self-released EP, Skeleton Key.
Stitched Up Heart’s days of self-booked national van tours and Mixi being a Revolver “Hottest Chicks” mainstay was merely the beginning. Driven by a new level of sonic confidence and topped with the frontwoman’s soaring vocal verve, it’s the sound of a band unapologetically coming into its own.
Stitched Up Heart are currently on the road across North America with One Eyed Doll through the end of October.

Prague Court Rejects Damages Claim By LAMB OF GOD Singer RANDY BLYTHEAccording to the Associated Press, a Czech Republic court has rejected LAMB OF GOD singer Randy Blythe's claim for damages in excess of half a million dollars after he was acquitted of manslaughter charges in connection with a fan's death.
In 2010, a 19-year-old super-fan rushed the stage during a LAMB OF GOD concert in Prague, Czech Republic. To protect himself, Blythe pushed the fan away. Unbeknownst to Blythe, the young man hit his head on the floor when he fell and later died from the injury. More than two years later, Blythe was arrested at the airport in Prague and incarcerated on charges carrying a prison term of five to ten years. Thirty-seven days later, he was released on bail to await trial. Although legal experts told him not to return to the Czech Republic to face the charges, Blythe explained that he "could not run away from this problem while the grieving family of a dead young man searched hopelessly for answers that [he] might help provide.'"
The singer was freed without charge in August 2012 but had to post $400,000 bail, then left the country, vowing to return for the trial.
The parents of the alleged victim were demanding compensation of 10 million Czech Koruna (approximately $530,000).
After a five-day trial, Blythe was acquitted on March 5, 2013.
Blythe's lawyer in the Czech Republic, Michal Sykora, told the Associated Press the court on Wednesday dismissed his request to be paid 15.555 million Czech Koruna (approximately $640,800) by the Justice Ministry.
Speaking to U.K.'s Kerrang! magazine about how his life has changed since he was found not guilty of manslaughter, Blythe said: "It was a huge cloud on my future. Here's the thing, when you go through something like that… All I could do was the right thing. I felt ethically obliged to go to court. I did it for me. I had to do it, so I could look myself in the mirror. I didn't want it hanging over me."
He continued: "I don't think I've had one person say to me, 'Yup, I would have done exactly what you did. At first I used to get bummed out because I'd be thinking, 'Really?' — because [to me] it seems that would be the right thing to do. Then I realized that's kind of judgmental, because we don't know, and you don't know, because you haven't been in that situation. We don't know, and you don't know, what we would do. You never know — more might have reacted and done something, but I decided to do the right thing. I can't tell anyone else what to do."
Randy added: "I think people sell themselves short a bit. I'm not the only one who has gone through something tough and dealt with it face-to-face. I'm not the only guy, and I think people seem to sell themselves short. I'm hoping so — that's the optimist in me. Otherwise I'd turn into a cynical, bitter old man. It's hard enough not to do that already as I get aolder and crankier."
Asked how he felt in the aftermath of it all, Randy said: "It didn't change my morals or outlook on life or any of that crap, because I had a hard time. The fact of the matter is, sometimes life just sucks. And you do what you're supposed to do. But that's life, and, you know, there wasn't some sort of big change for me. It was just me following what my heart told me. I didn't have to have some sort of dramatic realization, or some crap like that. Some kind of storybook awakening — that's not what happened. I just went through a tough time and got through it the best I could."
Blythe's memoir, "Dark Days: A Memoir", was released on July 14 via Da Capo Press. 7

FORGOTTEN TOMB - Love's Burial Ground To Receive Re-Release; Fall Tour Dates AnnouncedItaly's finest purveyors of black/doom metal, Forgotten Tomb, are about to receive a re-release of their classic third album, Love's Burial Ground, in CD, digital formats, and for the first time on LP, via Agonia Records. The remastered and remixed version, including re-vamped layout (and original cover, censored back in 2004), will have its world premiere on November 27th.
With almost 15 years of activity, six full-length albums and a double live in-studio album, live shows all over Europe and a worldwide underground following, Forgotten Tomb definitely deserves its cult status in the current extreme metal scene. With now-classic albums such as the milestones of Songs To Leave (2002) and Springtime Depression (2003), the band practically crafted and gave birth to a whole new sub-genre, now regarded as depressive black/doom metal. Afterwards it managed to evolve it, destroy it and reshape it with the highly acclaimed Love’s Burial Ground (2004), the controversial Negative Megalomania (2007) and the ground-breaking Under Saturn Retrograde (2011). Being out of print and proper availability for way too long, Love's Burial Ground is about to finally become available again.
Ferdinando 'Herr Morbid' Marchisio commented on the re-release: "We recently got back to Elfo Studio and reopened the mixing sessions for our classic third album Love's Burial Ground. The album has been hard to find for quite a while now and we felt it needed a proper re-release as we did with our first two albums recently. We were unsatisfied with a few details of the original release so we went there and improved our earlier mix. It retains all the original sessions and mix but we just refined a few things in the sound and remastered it all. Also, we added a few different details to the album title and tracklist and reintegrated the original cover-artwork, which was censored back then. Fans won't be disappointed since it's the best sounding version of this album ever and still very faithful to the original. Booklets and graphix are renewed and they include some unreleased and old pictures from that era. Last but not least, it will finally see a vinyl release with a couple of very special LP versions. This is my favourite among the first 3 FT classics and I hope you'll enjoy its long-awaited new found glory."
The album has been remixed and remastered in Elfo Studio (Italy) together with long-time sound engineer, Daniele Mandelli.
Tracklisting:
Psalm I: “Malus Videndi Pt. I”
Psalm II: “Kill Life”
Psalm III: “Alone”
Psalm IV: “House of Nostaliga”
Psalm V: “Malus Videndi Pt. II”
Psalm VI: “Love's Burial Ground”
Psalm VII: “Slave to Negativity”
Psalm VIII: “Forgotten Tomb MMIII”
Psalm IX: “Malus Videndi Pt. III”
Love's Burial Ground will be available in:
- digipack CD with booklet,
- limited black DLP with a digital download code,
- black DLP vinyl with gold and grey splatter, A4 poster and download code limited to 111 copies,
- digital formats
- t-shirt
Pre-orders will be available soon at this location (physical) and here (digital).
Forgotten Tomb will embark on an headlining European tour in late October/early November 2015, supporting their latest record, Hurt Yourself And The Ones You Love, released in April 2015. The band will perform a brand new set of songs, including material from all their discography that hasn't been played in a while, or never before. Support will come from French black metallers Nocturnal Depression.

MÖTLEY CRÜE's VINCE NEIL Hangs Up On Radio DJ After Being Asked About METALLICA 'Beef' (Audio)MÖTLEY CRÜE lead singer Vince Neil hung up on a radio DJ during a live interview after being repeatedly asked to comment on the alleged twenty-year feud between his band and METALLICA.
The bad vibes between MÖTLEY CRÜE and METALLICA were reignited earlier in the month after MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee sent out a tweet poking fun of Lars Ulrich's notorious inability to keep time during METALLICA's live performances. The tweet in question was a meme of the "Straight Outta Compton" film's mocked-up title logo with the space originally occupied by "Compton" replaced with "Tempo" and a photo backdrop of Lars playing the drums.
The feud between MÖTLEY CRÜE and METALLICA stems back to an incident nearly two decades ago when Ulrich accused CRÜE of performing to a tape at the American Music Awards in January 1997 (which, by all accounts, they did). After learning of Ulrich's allegations, MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx posted an "open letter" to the METALLICA drummer on an American Online message board, writing: "Dear, Sweet, Fat, Balding, Larz (love the make-up, babe!) Taking your ever-moronic soapbox position on a subject that's NONE of your fucking business has made you out to be an asshole as usual. Considering that me and Tommy know that your live tapes have been re-recorded. And ALL your instruments were repaired in Pro Tools (and had that balls to lie to your fans an call it a 'live' album)... People in glass houses should NOT throw rocks!! Considering your bullshit to the press, we feel it's only fair to return the punch!!...Your [sic] such a poseur...Thanks for releasing that 'load' of shit CD of yours...you made more room for us!!"
Earlier today, Neil spoke to Tanner of the 105.9 The Brew radio station in Portland, Oregon and was asked to give his side of the alleged "beef" between the two bands. Neil responded (hear audio below): "Hey, look, you have to ask Nikki about that, 'cause I had no idea there was anything between us and METALLICA until I read it. I had no idea."
After Tanner pointed out to Neil that Tommy sent out a tweet poking fun of Ulrich, Neil added, his frustration audible in his voice: "I know. I saw it, but, like I said, I had nothing to do with it. Because, like I said, I had no idea that there was any bad blood between us and METALLICA."
Neil also briefly broached the topic of lip-synching as it relates to his band, and denied that there was any validity to Ulrich's original claims.
"There is no lip-synching in rock and roll; I mean, it just doesn't happen," Vince said. "So it's kind of stupid thing to even talk about, because, I mean, anybody who goes to the show can tell there's no lip-synching involved. It's pretty lame."
After Tanner continued to press Neil about Tommy's "Straight Outta Tempo" tweet, Neil fired back: "I don't know. I wasn't involved. I have no idea. That's between Nikki and Tommy. Somebody said something to them, they said something back. Like I said, I wasn't involved. I didn't even know we had [any bad blood] with [METALLICA]."
It was at that point that Vince apparently decided to end the interview, hanging up the phone as Tanner was finally preparing to change the subject. A pause followed, before Tanner could be heard saying: "Hello? Unbelievable. Was it just me or was he being kind of dick there?"
The DJ continued: "I was just asking him questions about what's in the news."
He then addressed Vince directly: "I didn't ask for the interview. You asked for the interview. If you wanna come on the air, at least put a little effort into it." 8

BOBBY BLOTZER Says That He Has The Legal Right To Tour As RATTRATT drummer Bobby Blotzer says that he has the legal right to bring his version of RATT out on the road without any other original members because the band's guitarist, Warren DeMartini, breached his fiduciary duty by refusing to tour under the RATT name while he is a partner in the corporation that owns the rights to the RATT trademarks.
Blotzer announced on September 23 that he was taking control of the RATT name and was planning to hit the road with a new version of the group, which played shows earlier in the year under the name BOBBY BLOTZER'S RATT EXPERIENCE.
WBS, Inc., the company which owns the RATT brand, was originally formed by Blotzer, DeMartini and singer Stephen Pearcy. Pearcy lost his share of the name in court after splitting with the group in 2000. He returned to the band in 2006 but exited again last year. Blotzer has since expressed his desire to keep RATT alive with a new singer, but explained that DeMartini did not want to tour as RATT without Pearcy.
During an appearance on the September 28 edition of Eddie Trunk's SiriusXM satellite radio show, "Eddie Trunk Live", Blotzer stated about his decision to go out on the road as RATT: "I wanna tour. Me and Warren own 50/50 of the name. He does not wanna tour. The other [original members of RATT] guys aren't gonna tour [under that band name]. So it leaves me sitting here — the one guy who never quit, out of the whole band, and who's always been pushing the other guys to get back together. '97, [and] continued in 2000 when Stephen quit again, etc. [I'm the one who who tries to] keep things motivating… that's me all the time. And maybe not always in the best way. But my 50/50 partner doesn't wanna tour as a member, [and] he becomes a non-touring member, and that leaves me open to go out and bring the songs that people wanna hear on the road."
He went on to say: "If you have a company that you've been with for 34 years, and you and one other person own that company, and one guy doesn't wanna work and you do, what's…? You know what I mean? If I wanted to stay home and Warren wanted to go out, I'd be, like, 'Okay, just have the check here by Friday.' Because I will get dividends, and he will get dividends."
Blotzer added: "I wanna work. I wanna play our tunes. I've done a lot of outside projects. I get it; it's fun. But my body of music that I'm associated with and most accepted with is RATT."
Despite the fact that his version of RATT contains no other original members, Blotzer is confident that anyone who goes to one of the band's concerts will walk away impressed with what they saw.
"My band is so damn good, I'm telling you right now," Blotzer said. "The singer [is] amazing, Josh [Alan of SIN CITY SINNERS]. He's better than Pearcy was in his heyday."
He continued: "I'll tell you what: if [any RATT fans] were blind and they were at one of our gigs, it would be RATT [to them]. Because people wanna hear the music. Bottom line, this band brings integrity to RATT music, they play great, they perform great. There's no arguing… Oh my God, that is so amazing to be a part of a band that doesn't argue. And God bless my ex bandmates, but it was pretty intense trying to get rehearsals done and that kind of stuff."
According to Blotzer, he didn't originally set out to launch a new version of RATT, although the thought had crossed his mind in the past.
"I wanted to put a band together and go out as RATT, but I just never had the balls, or I was too lazy to go find the guys," he explained. "These guys came and got me. And we played. It was so good the first night; I was amazed. At soundcheck, we did four songs, I was immediately thinking I could play with these guys in RATT and pull it off, frankly."
BOBBY BLOTZER'S RATT EXPERIENCE has already played about eight shows so far, and the response to the band being rebranded as RATT has been very positive, according to Blotzer.
"We've got a lot of big shows booked, and the dough is really… pretty high, to be honest with you," he said.
Blotzer also spoke about Warren's apparent threat of legal action if the drummer continues to book shows under the RATT name.
"I can't really talk a lot about the specifics, because he's now [saying that he will try to stop me from using the name]… which is amazing to me," Bobby said. "He's really the one who prevented [the original band from] being together right now, by and large. Because in owning this name and this stock that he and I own 50/50… The other guys wanted 25 percent. I'm, like, 'I don't care. Whatever it takes.' Safety nets below. Everybody has safety and job stability and we all tour every year, like a normal job, normal people. He wouldn't give it up. So he's not willing to tour, and he's not willing to give up the stock in the name. So he puts us in a position where… I don't know. He's up in Candyland in the hills here."
Blotzer went on to speculate as to why DeMartini is so dead set against touring as RATT without the original lineup. He said: "My guess is, him and I both have pretty substantial hearing loss from so many years of doing this. I think that maybe his ears are bugging him a bit, and he's just not saying anything. That's just a guess, obviously. But I wanna take it out, and I have the right, by law, to do it."
He continued: "[Warren's] reasoning for not wanting to tour RATT was not giving [the other original members] the [rights to] the name, in case Stephen took the name and toured as RATT, and then we'd be back in court. So I'm saying to him on the phone… I'm, like, 'So he's not coming back and you would rather me not do that and are threatening to sue me, who you'll make money from if I go out and you don't go.' That makes a lot of sense. To who? Not me."
According to Blotzer, the recent disagreements between the members of the original RATT lineup have likely caused irreparable harm to their relationships.
"I'm gonna say something right here that I've never said, ever," he said. "I don't ever see RATT getting back together. There is just right now, at this point, four corners, and no one's leaving that corner. I'm leaving it, because the guy that chose not to go — the other member; there's two members of RATT: me and Warren, and Warren doesn't wanna tour. Legally, that left me allowed to go put a band together, go out, tour. He makes money. When the bills are all paid and the dust clears, here's your check, bud."
Blotzer also believes that there is another layer to Warren's motivation to try to keep the drummer from touring under the RATT name
"Let's just say, if you were to talk to anybody else in the band, or that's worked for the band, or in the band — any of the members, not just the originals — there's a lot of issues with control that came from his area of the world, and complete and utter… He wants to control this until his dying days," Blotzer explained. "Why would he not want me to go out…? If he doesn't wanna tour. We make great money residually. Everybody can stay home and not work; I mean, that's not a problem. I wanna get the fuck out of the house. I played enough golf. Mind you, five years we've been off. You can't do that legally. It's against corporate law in California. I don't know what everybody does outside this state, but you cannot be an officer an a shareholder and not work your company. It's called breach of fiduciary duty. That I know. And I'm surprised he's not knowing that."
Blotzer also addressed Warren's September 25 statement in which the guitarist said that he was "totally against" Blotzer's decision to use the RATT name for the drummer's "tribute band" and was taking steps "to prevent any further misuse" of the brand.
"I saw that thing that he put out on Blabbermouth, or wherever it came from — somebody sent it to me," Blotzer said. "[Warren wrote], like, 'I'm against this and [Blotzer] called to ask me if he could do this. And I said, 'Be BOB'S CELLAR.'' It's, like, I didn't call you to ask you anything. I called to ask him if he saw the video… I've asked him a hundred times in the last five years when the guys didn't wanna play, 'Do you wanna get a band together?' We had a very famous singer that wanted to join this band, and he wouldn't even have a part of it, or talk about it. He's, like, 'If it's the original band, I'm in.' Even though he knows Stephen's condition in the last few tours weren't very productive, to put it lightly. So why aren't you ready to switch gears and go? We did it for seven and a half years without the original guys — just him and I. So whatever his reasons are, I don't know. But him stopping me is a direct aggressive move to stop me from earning a living with my company — that's also his company too, but if he chooses to sit it out, that's his choice. But I'm bringing it to the fans. When people come to the gig, they are so excited, they love it. They have a great time."
According to Blotzer, he is currently unable to access the official RATT social media sites because they are being controlled by an "ex manager," making it difficult for the drummer to promote the band's upcoming shows properly.
"Here's another part of this spin that's driving me sleepless at times," Bobby said. "But that's another neck that's gonna be hanging. Because we've got Juan [Croucier, original RATT bassist] infringing on the trademark [by touring as RATT'S JUAN CROUCIER and using the RATT logo]. We have our ex-manager withholding my property and Warren's property, which are the codes to the web sites, the Twitter accounts, the Facebook, etc. Which are all [followed by], like, six, seven hundred thousand people… I don't know. I don't really generally pay attention; that's why I don't have the codes. 'Cause I don't generally care. And he's withholding that."
Blotzer's revamped RATT is rounded out by Josh Alan (SIN CITY SINNERS), Scotty Griffin (ex-L.A. GUNS), Doc Ellis (Jizzy Pearl's LOVE/HATE) and 22-year-old guitar hero Blaze. Dates on the North American leg of the "Re-Invasion Tour" will begin in October and will include major swings through the Midwest, Southeast, South, Northeast and Canada. Stay tuned for more cities and dates being added each day. 1

RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE Bassist Apologizes For Inspiring LIMP BIZKITAccording to The Pulse Of Radio, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE bassist Tim Commerford has said in a new interview with Rolling Stone that he's sorry for inspiring rap-metal bands like LIMP BIZKIT that came along in the wake of RAGE's success. Commerford explained: "I do apologize for LIMP BIZKIT. I really do. I feel really bad that we inspired such bullshit. They're gone, though. That's the beautiful thing. There's only one left, and that's RAGE, and as far as I'm concerned, we're the only one that matters."
Just last year at a show in New York City, LIMP BIZKIT's Fred Durst told the crowd, "This is dedicated to the rap-rock band that started this shit," before launching into a cover of RAGE's classic "Killing In The Name".
Commerford has crossed paths with Durst and company before, most notably when he climbed a 20-foot backdrop onstage as LIMP BIZKIT came up to accept the "Best Rock Video" award at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards.
Commerford said about the incident: "It's aged like wine. What was uncomfortable and a little bit bitter in 2000, now I savor it. I get more people that come up to me now. Back in 2000, it was like, 'Dude, I saw you do that. What was that all about?' Now, it's like, 'Dude, I saw you do that. That was so fuckin' awesome! I love that.'"
Commerford, who spent a night in jail as a result of the incident, added that if he could do it again he would have "ripped that thing to the ground and shredded it."
The bassist is promoting his new band, WAKRAT, and also started an electronic music project earlier this year called FUTURE USER.
RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE's new DVD, "Live At Finsbury Park", is set to be released October 16. The concert was filmed in 2010 in London. 14

LITA FORD Says Her Upcoming Autobiography Is 'Full Of Dirt'Mark Strigl of Talking Metal conducted an interview with '80s hard rock queen Lita Ford at the Food Truck & Rock Carnival, which was held earlier in the month in Clark, New Jersey. You can now listen to the chat using the Spreaker widget below.
Speaking about her long-awaited autobiography, "Lita Ford - Living Like A Runaway: A Memoir", which is now set to arrive in the spring of 2016 via Dey Street Books (formerly It Books), an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers, Ford said: "Oh my God, it's full of dirt. It really is. You know, [MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist and Lita's former boyfriend] Nikki [Sixx] told me, 'Don't hold back.' He said, 'Let it fly.' So I did. I let it fly. I don't wanna get into it, because I don't wanna give it away. But it's a great book. I'm really, honestly telling you the truth. It's a great book. I'm very happy with it. There's lots of emotional ups and downs. I found out myself, when I read through it, I cry with happiness, I cry with laughter. Things are so goddamn funny — so funny that you're just, like, 'Oh my God, that's the funniest thing I've ever heard.' And then it goes to the next extreme, which is, like, 'Wow, that's the worst thing I've ever heard.' So it's got a lot of different emotional roller coaster rides on it."
According to Lita, the reason her book has been delayed so many times is the fact that "I keep adding stuff." Thankfully, her publishers have "been absolutely awesome. They have my back. 'I wanna change this. I wanna change that.' 'Fine.' So they're one hundred percent supportive, which is awesome."
Ford also revealed that she is working on material for the follow-up to her "Living Like A Runaway" CD, which was released in June 2012 in North America. "We're writing a new album now," she said. "We've got about half of the album written now. Then we go out and do a few shows — we just hop on a plane and go and do three or four shows, go back home and write some more. So we're just gonna pick the best of the best songs, once they're all done — written and recorded — [and] see what makes the album and what doesn't. But right now we've got a handful of really great stuff."
At least a good portion of "Living Like A Runaway: A Memoir" will focus on Lita's years with the all-teenage-girl rock band THE RUNAWAYS, whose members also included fellow future rock star Joan Jett. 2

KORN Is 'About A Third Of The Way Done' With Next AlbumKORN guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer has confirmed to Billboard.com that the band has commenced writing material for the follow-up to 2013's "The Paradigm Shift" album.
"We're working on new music," he said. "I'd say we're about a third of the way done. We wrote about 20 songs and about 10 of those we've kept and made better. I think we're gonna need to go back in and write another batch of songs and then fine-tune those into four, five really great songs. There's no rush, which feels great. It's time to take a little extra time and make a great album. I think it's time to solidify our legacy, 'cause I'm really proud of it."
A producer has already been selected to helm KORN's new CD, but Munky says that the band "is gonna wait a couple more weeks before we announce that."
KORN guitarist Brian "Head" Welch said in a recent interview on "You Don't Know Jack" that the material the band is writing for its twelfth album is “heavier than anyone's heard KORN in a long time." He added, "We're really pleased with what's going on. We just want everyone to be happy with the album. We want everybody to be smiling at the end of the process, so we do have other things to consider. But, yeah, we're gonna come out heavier than anyone's heard KORN in a long time, I think. And just the beginning stages are proof of that to me."
Welch was asked if some recent performances of KORN's 1994 self-titled debut in its entirety had led the band back to a heavier sound. He replied, "I think it's helped being on the SLIPKNOT tour last year and seeing the crowd and just seeing Jonathan [Davis, singer] lead the arena in all the arenas we played. I think it sparked and reminded everybody in the band what KORN started out to be."
KORN has booked a fall North American tour on which the band will perform its debut album in its entirety at every stop. The trek kicks off on October 1 in Chicago, winding down a month later on October 30 in Oakland. 4

Video: QUEEN + ADAM LAMBERT Perform In Córdoba, ArgentinaVideo footage of QUEEN and "American Idol" finalist Adam Lambert performing on September 27 at Orfeo Superdomo in Córdoba, Argentina can be seen below.
On September 10, QUEEN members Brian May and Roger Taylor, along with Lambert — who has been singing for QUEEN on their tours, filling in for his idol Freddie Mercury — took part in a press conference ahead of their Rock In Rio performance in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.
Speaking about the similarities and differences between Mercury and Lambert, May said: "Well, there are differences, you know, but I think perhaps the greatest thing about Freddie is his connection with people, with an audience, and Adam has that. And I don't think that's something you can learn; I think it's something which you either perhaps have in you or not. You have to dedicate yourself, and Adam, like Freddie, is dedicated to his art. But without that — whatever that wonderful talent is — I don't think it would happen. When Adam walks onto a stage, it's not Freddie, and it's not him trying to be Freddie, but when Adam walks on and when Freddie walks on, something happens; there's some kind of catalytic action that happens between people, and it's a very rare and special thing. So I would say that's something that Adam and Freddie share, and I know that Freddie would agree with that. I mean, without even speaking about the voice. I mean, the voice… they both had, and have, incredible voices — the kind of voice that you don't find in a billion people. And, of course, the voice is very special, but it's not enough. You have to have the will and the spirit to use that wonderful instrument that you've been given to make that connection."
Lambert, May and Taylor first shared the stage during "American Idol" in May 2009 for a performance of "We Are The Champions". They teamed up again in 2011 at the MTV European Music Awards in Belfast, Ireland for an electrifying eight-minute finale of "The Show Must Go On", "We Will Rock You" and "We Are The Champions" and in the summer of 2012, Lambert performed a series of shows with QUEEN across Europe as well as dates in Russia, Ukraine and Poland. They also performed three sold-out gigs at London's Hammersmith Apollo.
After completing QUEEN's most recent European tour in January, May described Lambert as the only singer the band had found capable of filling Mercury's shoes. "Adam is the first person we've encountered who can do all the QUEEN catalogue without blinking," said May. "He is a gift from God."
Lambert, for his part, downplayed the Mercury comparisons, saying: "There's never going to be another, and I'm not replacing him. That's not what I'm doing. I'm trying to keep the memory alive, and remind people how amazing he was, without imitating him. I'm trying to share with the audience how much he inspired me."
Lambert released his third studio album, "The Original High", on June 16 through Warner Bros. 4

METAL CHURCH's MIKE HOWE On New Album: 'The End Result Is Better Than We Could Have Ever Hoped For'Singer Mike Howe is heading back into the studio this weekend to finish up the last of the vocal tracks for the new METAL CHURCH album. He says: "It's taken a little longer than we expected, but the end result is better than we could have ever hoped for! You are going to love this!"
Audio snippets of two new METAL CHURCH demo tracks, "Find Your Way" and "Killing Your Time", are available in the YouTube clip below. Both songs will be included on METAL CHURCH's forthcoming album, to be released in early 2016 via Rat Pak Records. The tracks feature the lineup of Mike Howe (vocals), Kurdt Vanderhoof (guitar), Jeff Plate (drums), Steve Unger (bass) and Rick Van Zandt (lead guitar).
Howe, who fronted METAL CHURCH from 1988 until 1994, officially rejoined the band in April.
In the summer of 2014, METAL CHURCH suddenly found themselves in need of a new singer. As fate would have it, guitarist Kurdt Vanderhoof was already in talks with Mike for another project that he was working on with SAXON drummer Nigel Glockler, so he decided to ask Mike to rejoin METAL CHURCH. Mike agreed, but true to form, didn't want to make it official until he knew for sure that the integrity of the new material was there.
Said Mike: "I didn't want to come back to METAL CHURCH just for nostalgia. It had to be for the right reasons. It had to be the best stuff we've ever written together or it just wouldn't be worth it to anyone, especially the fans."
Soon after, Kurdt and Mike began exchanging ideas and writing new material with the band. The end result sounds like "classic Mike Howe-era METAL CHURCH," according to Vanderhoof. "It's both heavy and melodic. Mike sounds the same as he did 20 years ago.
He adds: "This is going to be truly epic!!"
Drummer Jeff Plate commentws: "Mike Howe is the ONLY singer for METAL CHURCH. He has a reputation of complete honor and respect. We can now take METAL CHURCH to the next level!"
Howe originally joined METAL CHURCH in the late '80s and released three albums with the band: "Blessing In Disguise" (1989), "The Human Factor" (1991) and "Hanging In The Balance" (1994). Mike was also the face of popular music videos "Date With Poverty" and "Badlands" that aired during MTV's heyday.
METAL CHURCH 2015 is:
Mike Howe (vocals)Kurdt Vanderhoof (guitar)Jeff Plate (drums)Steve Unger (bass)Rick VanZandt (guitar) 3

MICHAEL SCHENKER'S TEMPLE OF ROCK Planning Third Studio Album, New Concert DVDMICHAEL SCHENKER'S TEMPLE OF ROCK's November 19 concert at Joy Eslava in Madrid, Spain will be professionally filmed and recorded for a new DVD, to be released in early 2016. In addition, the band will enter the studio in the spring to begin work on its third album, tentatively due in 2017.
"We have got two albums done now, 'Bridge The Gap' and 'Spirit On A Mission', with the same lineup — Doogie White [vocals], Herman Rarebell [drums], Francis Buchholz [bass], Wayne Findlay [guitar, keyboards] and myself — and it's developing into a very stable band," guitarist Michael Schenker told Metal Shock Finland.
"Basically, what we have been doing [this year], we have been promoting [the 'Spirit On A Mission'] album. We have a single, 'Vigilante Man' and 'Live And Let Live', and we're planning, in early October, to release another single, 'Communion'. It's actually a double single, 'Communion' and 'Saviour Machine', but for 'Communion', we've built a special video with behind-the-scenes footage."
Video footage of MICHAEL SCHENKER'S TEMPLE OF ROCK performing the SCORPIONS classic "Rock You Like A Hurricane" on May 24 at the Rock Hard Festival in Gelsenkirchen, Germany can be seen below.
"Spirit On A Mission" featured twelve 12 classic rock guitar-driven songs that highlighted Schenker's distinctive and dynamic guitar playing, valiantly underpinned by the ferocious rhythm section of Rarebell and Buchholz, the same rhythm section that originally performed together on the SCORPIONS' 1979 album "Lovedrive".
"Spirit On A Mission" was recorded at Kidroom Studios in Münster, Germany; the same studio where 2013's "Bridge The Gap" album was laid down. The CD was produced by Michael Voss and Michael Schenker, and engineered by Voss.
Former RAINBOW singer Doogie White was described by Schenker as an "extremely creative individual with a fantastic range and a voice that never stops". "How many people do you know that can sing nine shows in a row, without a day off and still have a voice with a range like his?" said Schenker. "He's a real trooper."

SATAN: Entire 'Atom By Atom' Album Availale For Streaming"Atom By Atom", the new studio album from British heavy metal veterans SATAN, can be streamed in its entirety below. Due on October 16 via Listenable Records, the follow-up to 2013's "Life Sentence" was recorded at Newcastle's First Avenue Studios and was once again mixed and mastered by Dario Mollo in Italy. The cover artwork, which can be seen below, was created by artist Eliran Kantor, who has previously worked with TESTAMENT, ICED EARTH, SODOM and SOULFLY, among others. The CD features ten songs, including a collaboration with ANGEL WITCH's Kevin Heybourne.
"Atom By Atom" track listing:
01. Farewell Evolution02. Fallen Saviour03. Ruination04. The Devil's Infantry05. Atom By Atom06. In Contempt07. My Own God08. Ahriman09. Bound In Enmity10. The Fall Of Persephone
SATAN guitarist Steve Ramsey stated about "Atom By Atom": "We wanted to keep some continuity going with both the look and sound of this album.
"We've been working on the music for nearly two years now and I think people will definitely hear a progression from 'Life Sentence'. I can't really describe it, but I promise you, these songs will speak for themselves."
SATAN released a live album, "Trail Of Fire - Live In North America", in October 2014 to celebrate its debut live appearances last year on the North American soil in support of "Life Sentence".
Originating from Newcastle, England in 1980, SATAN is known as part of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal movement. Though generally obscure throughout their career, the band is considered influential for playing a form of proto-thrash metal that was fairly advanced by the standards of the early 1980s, influencing major acts like METALLICA, EXODUS and DEATH ANGEL.
"Life Sentence" was released on April 29, 2013 in Europe and May 21, 2013 in the U.S. via Listenable Records. The CD was the culmination of a process that began when the original "Court In The Act" lineup got together for an exclusive "one-off" reunion show at Germany's Keep It True festival in 2011 in what marked their first performance together in 28 years.
The recording lineup for "Life Sentence" was the same as that on "Court In The Act":
Brian Ross (vocals) Steve Ramsey (guitar) Russ Tippins (guitar) Graeme English (bass) Sean Taylor (drums)
SATAN is one of the most important groups that emerged in the early NWOBHM era. Their unique mixture of heavy and power metal spirit with thrash riffage brought a handful of unforgettable tunes and revolutionized heavy music as we know it.
"Court in the Act" was SATAN's debut release and was considered a true milestone at the time of its release (1983). The songs were melodic, but at the same time very aggressive. The band's two guitarists, Russ Tippins and Steve Ramsey, delivered a truly amazing performance; although their styles were completely different, they managed to perfectly complement each other's playing and introduced a handful of timeless riffs and solos.

MONSTER MAGNET: 'She Digs That Hole' Song Available For StreamingDave Wyndorf and his MONSTER MAGNET henchmen seemingly had the time of their lives when they completely rearranged and boosted "Last Patrol" in 2014 and christened it "Milking The Stars: A Re-Imagining Of Last Patrol". Now MONSTER MAGNET go back even further to 2010 and their "Mastermind" album. Even if you know the LP inside and out, you won't be prepared in the slightest for the trip that is "Cobras And Fire (The Mastermind Redux)": just think of the beast "Apocalypse Now" turned into in its Redux form. Familiar elements drift by and are swallowed whole by thundering psych orgies — Wyndorf often focuses on a singular song fragment and turns it into his ride to total Nirvana. Go look for your daily dose of average rock elsewhere: this is the mindfuck of the year!
The song "She Digs That Hole" from "Cobras and Fire (The Mastermind Redux)" can be streamed below.
"Cobras And Fire (The Mastermind Redux)" will be released on October 9 via Napalm Records.
"Cobras and Fire (The Mastermind Redux)" track listing:
01. She Digs That Hole02. Watch Me Fade03. Mastermind '6904. Hallucination Bomb05. Gods And Punks06. The Titan07. When The Planes Fall From The Sky08. Ball Of Confusion09. Time Machine10. I Live Behind The Paradise Machine Evil Joe Barresi's Magnet Mash Vol.1
Wyndorf stated about the new album: "It's a re-imagining of material from 2010's 'Mastermind' album as an alternative listening experience that I think stands on its own.
"With 'Cobras And Fire', I wanted to present these songs in a much stranger and dirtier atmosphere. Less 'classic rock' and more… well, I'd guess I'd call it a deranged fusion of garage-psych, fuzz punk and movie soundtrack music. It's almost completely re-recorded (with the bulk of the guitar and bass playing by co-producer Phil Caivano), and, as in 'Milking The Stars', I've added organ, piano, sitars and more to flesh out a completely new sound for these tunes. There's also a HAWKWIND/PINK FAIRIES-inspired cover version of THE TEMPTATIONS 1969 classic 'Ball Of Confusion' with background vocals by MONSTER MAGNET co-founder and RIB EYE BROS. frontman Tim Cronin. Plus an eight-minute, tripped-out sonic adventure entitled 'I Live Behind The Paradise Machine' specially created by mixer extraordinaire Evil Joe Barresi. Joe is at his best here, seamlessly integrating elements from several MAGNET songs into a new, standalone composition.
"All in all, I call this the weirdest MONSTER MAGNET yet, and that's a good thing! I hope you like it!" 2

SUNN O))) To Release 'Kannon' Album In DecemberSouthern Lord Recordings will release a new studio album from SUNN O))), "Kannon", on December 4. Composed in the aftershadow of SUNN O))) 's most recent successes in immersive collaboration — the group having worked with Scott Walker on "Soused", and ULVER on "Terrestrials" in 2013 and 2014 — and also from the broad and influential wake of their epitomic "Monoliths & Dimensions", "Kannon" emerged both independently as a conceptual entity and with roots in the legacies of those projects, yet was fully realized years later in 2015. The album consists of three pieces of a triadic whole: "Kannon 1, 2 and 3". The album celebrates many SUNN O))) traditions; "Kannon" was recorded and mixed with SUNN O)))'s close colleague and co-producer Randall Dunn in Seattle, in Studio Litho, Aleph and Avast!, and the LP includes performances by long term allies and collaborators Attila Csihar, Oren Ambarchi, Rex Ritter, and Steve Moore, to name a few. At the core, the composition centers around the dynamic and intense guitar and bass interplay of SUNN O)))'s founders: Stephen O'Malley and Greg Anderson. It is possibly the most figurative album SUNN O))) has created, which is unusual as they usually dwell in layers of abstraction and subjectivity. On the other hand, the album is the most outright "metal" in years, drawing personal associations and memories of cherished albums like "Panzerfaust" and "Twilight Of The Gods" again to the forefront of consciousness. "Kannon" is also very close to the cyclical character of mantra which the band has evolved into as a living creature, the enormity of intense sensate detail and manifestation of the live in concert element of SUNN O))), the organism that has flourished, metamorphosed and transcended tremendously over the past ten years. The literal representation of "Kannon" is as an aspect of Buddha: specifically "goddess of mercy" or "Perceiving the Sounds (or Cries) of the World." She is also sometimes commonly known as the Guanyin Bodhisattva amongst a plurality of other forms. There is a rich lineage behind this idea tracing back through many Asian belief systems, with as many names and cultural personifications of the idea. SUNN O))) commissioned critical theorist Aliza Shvartz to write text and liner notes around these ideas and topics. She also explores the relations and perceptions to their approach to these ideas via the metonym of music and SUNN O)))'s place/approach within the framework of music and metal overall. The band also enlisted Swiss designer/artist Angela LaFont Bollinger to create the cover artwork, an abstracted sculpture of vision of "Kannon". French photographer Estelle Hanania captures portraits of the core trio (Csihar, Anderson, O'Malley) in the impressive and obscurant Emanuel Vingeland mausoleum in Oslo. "Kannon" will be available on gatefold LP, CD and digital formats worldwide on December 4, with a limited number of clear vinyl available on Black Friday RSD, Friday, November 27.

DEVIN TOWNSEND To Release 'Ziltoid Live At The Royal Albert Hall' DVD, Blu-RayEarlier this year, Canadian multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter and producer Devin Townsend played an incredible sold-out show at London's legendary Royal Albert Hall venue, bringing the story of Ziltoid to life on stage as well as playing tracks from across his back catalogue. This larger-than-life evening was captured on film and is set to be released on November 13. Shot on 15 high-definition cameras, it was directed by Paul M Green (OPETH, BB KING, STEVE HACKETT) and features special guests such as Dominique Lenore Persi (STOLEN BABIES), Chris Jericho (world-famous wrestler and singer of FOZZY) and Jean Savoie, with video narration by Bill Courage, as well as 12 singers and actors as cast and choir.
Devin had this to say about it: "The show at The Royal Albert Hall was a great experience. To be able to make artistic expression rooted in creativity and then to be able to articulate it in these sorts of ways — at this sort of venue — was pretty awesome. The whole thing was quite a challenge, but ultimately it worked and we were all very satisfied with it. I completely appreciate the support that has allowed this to happen from the audience, and I thank my team and Inside Out Records for busting ass to make this DVD a reality. I think if you enjoy what I do, you'll really dig it. Thank you so much for the opportunity!"
The release will arrive on several formats including an artbook of 44 pages including the entire concert as well as extensive behind-the-scenes bonus footage and a full documentary, pressed on three CDs, two DVDs and a Blu-ray disc, as special edition digipak with three CDs and a DVD and as Blu-ray, including the entire show and bonus material. 2

PHILIP ANSELMO Launches SCOUR Extreme Metal ProjectFormer PANTERA and current DOWN and SUPERJOINT frontman Philip Anselmo has launched a new project called SCOUR, also featuring contributions from John Jarvis (PIG DESTROYER, AGORAPHOBIC NOSEBLEED, FULGORA), Derek Engemann (CATTLE DECAPITATION), Chase Fraser (ex-ANIMOSITY, DECREPIT BIRTH), and Jesse Schobel (STRONG INTENTION, CAST THE STONE).
In a brand new interview with Hellbound.ca, Anselmo stated about the new project: "The SCOUR thing was something that just popped up, and it's something that I think I can kill, something I can lay it out. They're short songs. It's a short EP, and that's something I can knock out, I guess, after [SUPERJOINT is done with] the DANZIG tour."
Anselmo continued: "I think [there's] one of the fellows from CATTLE DECAPITATION, but it's predominantly, in my ear, modern-ish black metal-sounding, thrashy black metal-type stuff. I'm going to put my own spin on it. I don't have to sound like your boy from GORGOROTH [laughs] to get the point across, man. There's other ways of singing over that style of music, and I shall employ many styles."
An official SCOUR Facebook page has been launched at this location.
In a 2012 interview with Terrorizer magazine, Anselmo said about his varied musical taste: "I am a lover of all sorts of music but really my heart is ... really I love extreme music, underground music, whether it be grindcore, death metal, thrash, black metal, [or whatever other] subgenre, and I find beauty in a lot of this stuff." 4
