RUSH:

RUSH: 'Roll The Bones' Song From Upcoming 'R40 Live' Concert Film Available For Streaming

Canadian rock legends RUSH have revealed their first offering from the forthcoming "R40 Live" concert film — "Roll The Bones", a song from their fourteenth studio album "Roll The Bones" that was originally released in 1991.

This "R40 Live" version of "Roll The Bones" was recorded in the band's hometown of Toronto on June 17 and June 19 during the sold-out shows at the Air Canada Centre on the "R40 Live" tour and was mixed by David Botrill (TOOL, MUSE).

"Roll The Bones (R40 Live)" features an array of special guests in the rap part of the song: Jay Baruchel (SHE'S OUT OF MY LEAGUE), Les Claypool (PRIMUS), Peter Dinklage ("Game Of Thrones"), Tom Morello (RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, AUDIOSLAVE), Chad Smith (RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS), "The Trailer Park Boys", and Jason Segel and Paul Rudd ("I Love You, Man").

It is the first time the band put the "Roll The Bones" song back in the setlist since the "Snakes & Arrows" tour in 2007/2008. During the "R40 Live" tour, "Roll The Bones" gained new life and became a fan favorite with an arena sing-along to the chorus "Why are we here? Because we're here — Roll The Bones."

The RUSH "R40 Live" concert film will be released on November 20. More details to be revealed soon.

RUSH's "R40 Live" tour wrapped on August 1 in Los Angeles, California at the Forum.

Asked how he is feeling about the idea of retiring from the road, RUSH guitarist Alex Lifeson told The Canadian Press: "I have such mixed feelings about it. In one way, I feel relief. I think that 40 years is a long time to be touring the way we tour. I really like being home with my grandkids. At 61, I don't feel there's anything we need to prove."

He continued: "I still love playing. But in [drummer] Neil's [Peart] case, for example, his job is really tough. Playing the way he does is very, very difficult on his body. He has chronic tendonitis in his arms and he's had problems with his shoulders.

"It's just getting to the point, no matter how much we love doing it, that it's much more demanding and much more difficult."

Lifeson added: "I've always hated the idea of being one of those guys who's just up there, old and barely able to move — just doing it for fear of not doing it, or not making an extra buck or whatever.

"If this is the last major tour that we do, [I want to] go out with flying colors, where everybody remembers the show they went to as the best RUSH they've [seen].

"That's a nice legacy to leave behind — rather than the worn-out shadow of something you once were."

BLACK SABBATH To Headline Belgium

BLACK SABBATH To Headline Belgium's GRASPOP METAL MEETING

Heavy metal legends BLACK SABBATH will headline the 2016 edition of the Graspop Metal Meeting festival on Friday, June 17 in Dessel, Belgium. Tickets go on sale on October 15.

For more information, visit Graspop.be.

BLACK SABBATH earlier in the month announced the first details of a world tour that is being billed as "The End". The North American leg will start on January 20, 2016 in Omaha, Nebraska, ending on February 25 in new York City. Dates in Australia and New Zealand have been confirmed for April, with more shows to be announced next month.

The band's full statement read: "It's the Beginning of The End. It started nearly five decades ago with a crack of thunder, a distant bell ringing and then that monstrous riff that shook the earth. The heaviest rock sound ever heard. In that moment Heavy Metal was born, created by a young band from Birmingham, England barely out of their teens."

It continued, "Now it ends, the final tour by the greatest Metal Band of all time, BLACK SABBATH. Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler close the final chapter in the final volume of the incredible BLACK SABBATH story."

The statement added that the tour "promises to surpass all previous tours with their most mesmerizing production ever … when this tour concludes, it will truly be The End."

The original lineup of SABBATH reunited in late 2011 for a new album called "13" and a world tour. Although founding drummer Bill Ward was on board at first, he dropped out over what he called contractual issues. Ward will apparently not be part of the farewell tour either.

METALLICA: Official Footage Of First Quebec City Performance

Official fly-on-the-wall footage shot of METALLICA's September 14 performance at Colisee Pepsi in Quebec City, Qebec, Canada can be seen below. Drummer Lars Ulrich told Rolling Stone magazine that the band doesn't want to record in a way that feels "labored over and overthought."

METALLICA has spent a lot of time outside the studio in the last year, with activities that included a string of European all-request shows last summer, a week-long residency on "The Late Show With Craig Ferguson", and a Rock In Rio USA stint.

METALLICA has not revealed when it plans to begin recording or tentatively release the new album.

SUNPOCRISY - Eyegasm, Hallelujah! Album Details Revealed

SUNPOCRISY - Eyegasm, Hallelujah! Album Details Revealed

Post-progressive metal band Sunpocrisy will release their new record, Eyegasm, Hallelujah!, on November 1st on CD and digital. The album, an overwhelming, stellar and progressive post-mental eargasm, will be available soon in vinyl gatefold 2XLP together with Wooaaargh Records, Dullest Records, Shove Records and Drown Within Records.

The band created a multi-layered dichotomy between superb melodic sections and roaring wall of sound. Eyegasm, Hallelujah!, recorded in Ravenna, Italy by Riccardo Pasini (The Secret, Nero di Marte, Ephel Duath) and mastered in Chicago by Collin Jordan (Eyehategod, Voivod, Pelican, Yob, Wovenhand, Minsk) is a concept album.

“In this new record, considered as a sequel of Samaroid Dioramas, the concept is developed from the detaching from the earth surface, to the white unknown, in 9 chapters. Where S|D stops, E|H starts, with a bright path, from the slow rebirth to the final strength effort, and then the rest. An awakening, an escape, from the physical known condition to an abstract addiction of life to life itself, through the grown awareness of what a body needs. The main figure is the Peacock, symbol of renaissance and pureness, strength, courage and resistance. Its bravery is constantly fighting with a real, human shaped of course, consciousness about the pain, exploding in a desperate search to find its perfect half, until it's found. Two parts of the same thing, melting together, originating the great white, the eyegasm. Hallelujah!”

Eyegasm, Hallelujah! tracklisting:

“Eyegasm”
“Mausoleum Of The Almost”
“Transmogrification”
“Eternitarian”
“Of Barbs And Barbules”
“Kairos Through Aion”
“Gravis Vociferatur”
“Festive Garments”
“Hallelujah!”

SACRED STEEL To Release Reborn In Steel Deluxe Edition CD On Halloween

SACRED STEEL To Release Reborn In Steel Deluxe Edition CD On Halloween

Sacred Steel do not play heavy metal. They ARE heavy metal, or to be more exact: true heavy metal. Back in the middle of the '90s, when classic metal was fighting for its survival and was losing, a bunch of heavy metal maniacs from Germany got tired of new trends in metal, and decided to start a band which would celebrate the legacy of legends such as Agent Steel, Mercyful Fate, Sanctuary, Omen, Cirith Ungol, early Manowar and Helstar.

Not only did they succeed, and get signed to the legendary Metal Blade Records as the first German band ever, but they managed to ignite the fire that the scene needed, and they were in the front row of maniacs who were responsible for the revival of true heavy metal in Europe.

Skol Records is proud to present an exclusive, expanded edition reissue of their already rare, classic, and out of print debut from 1997, Reborn In Steel. The CD album will hit the streets on Halloween, October 31st, and will be limited to 1,000 copies worldwide.

Package will include eight previously unreleased bonus tracks (no live recordings and no interviews), thick booklet with lyrics, lot of previously unseen photos, and killer liner notes written by Gerrit P. Mutz - band's singer, also known from cooperation with bands such as Battlroar and Dawn Of Winter.

The album has been remastered by Bart Gabriel (Crystal Viper, Satan’s Host, Burning Starr), who also produced band's most recent studio album, The Bloodshed Summoning (out on Cruz Del Sur in 2013).

THE DEAD DAISIES - Video Of "Empty Heart" Live On The Morning Show

THE DEAD DAISIES - Video Of "Empty Heart" Live On The Morning Show

Before The Dead Daisies join KISS on their 40th anniversary tour, they released a brand new track written by Aussie legend Jimmy Barnes. The band popped by The Morning Show studio for an exclusive performance of this song, "Empty Heart".

A complete list of The Dead Daisies tour dates can be found at this location.

Unfortunately The Dead Daisies guitarist Richard Fortus (Guns N' Roses) will miss the band's Australian tour after being seriously injured in a motorcycle accident.

Says Richard: “Since The Dead Daisies have now announced that I am not going to be able to do the Australian tour, I'd like to share my statement here… On September 17, 2015, I was involved in a motorcycle accident. As a result, I broke my shoulder blade, collar bone, six ribs, a toe, I have a bruised lung, lacerated liver and a concussion.

“Amazingly, my doctors have assured me that I will make a full recovery. I have never missed a show in my entire career and unfortunately, I will have to miss the entire Australian and New Zealand leg of this tour. I am devastated that I will not be able to play for the Australian and New Zealand fans, who have been so supportive and loyal.

“I am healing quickly and getting stronger by the day. I'm looking forward to rejoining the Daisies for the KISS Kruise as well as the Whitesnake tour and our own tour of the UK and France. I’d like to thank everyone for their well-wishes and can’t wait to be back in Australia very soon.”

Says The Dead Daisies: “Unfortunately Richard Fortus has had a bit of a motorcycle accident recently and will not be able to make the Australian KISS tour. We wish him a speedy recovery and he will definitely be 'back on deck' for The KISS Kruise. Amazing rock player extraordinaire from the Baby Animals, Dave Leslie, will jump in and play these dates. Dave is busy learning the tunes and can't wait to get out there and play with The Daisies.”

“Richard Fortus is an amazing guitar player and I'm really thrilled to be asked to cover for him. I am going to have to pack an extra bag of socks, because his are extremely big shoes to fill!”- Dave Leslie

REVENGE – “Wolf Slave Protocol (Choose Your Side)” Track Streaming

REVENGE – “Wolf Slave Protocol (Choose Your Side)” Track Streaming

Edmonton, AB death/black metal act Revenge will release their new album Behold.Total.Rejection on November 13 via Season Of Mist. A new track “Wolf Slave Protocol (Choose Your Side)” is streaming below.

A press release states: “With Behold.Total.Rejection, Revenge have reached a new peak in black violence and raving misanthropy. The band was founded by vocalist and drummer J. Read continuing in the vein of his previous outfit and war metal instigators Conqueror in the year 2000. The Canadians have since delivered some of the most severe and brutal music the metal underground has ever produced. Simply put: they are one of the most extreme bands in existence.

“With each release, J. Read has pushed the limits further. The two early EPs Attack.Blood.Revenge (2001) and Superion.Command.Destroy (2002) were followed by first full-length Triumph.Genocide.Antichrist (2003). There was never any room for middle ground with punishing albums such as Victory.Intolerance.Mastery (2004), Infiltration.Downfall.Death (2008), and Scum.Collapse.Eradication (2011). Now Behold.Total.Rejection is arguably the most fervent release and a manifesto of rejection – rejection of the groundswell of mediocrity within the scene, rejection of compromise as a means of embracing of a wider audience, rejection of the dogma and strictures of religion and the trappings of the feeble social slave. Behold.Total.Rejection is a torrential barrage of relentless animosity. This is Revenge. No scene. No brotherhood. No remorse.”

Tracklisting:

“Scum Defection (Outsider Neutralized)”
“Shock Attrition (Control In Decline)”
“Wolf Slave Protocol (Choose Your Side)”
“Mass Death Mass”
“Mobilization Rites”
“Silent Enemy”
“Desolation Insignia”
“Hate Nomad”

“Nihilist Militant (Total Rejection)”

EARTHSIDE Launches A Dream In Static Cinematic Trailer; Video

EARTHSIDE Launches A Dream In Static Cinematic Trailer; Video

New Haven-based progressive ensemble, Earthside, has launched a cinematic trailer for A Dream In Static, it’s debut album due out October 23rd.

The band commented: "One of our many ambitions as a cinematic rock band is to score films and video games. With this project, we had the unique challenge of using pre-existing audio stems from our album to shape the drama of our trailer. Consider this our declaration of intent - our mission statement."

Earthside recently revealed the music video for "Mob Mentality”, featuring guest vocals from Sevendust frontman Lajon Witherspoon and a full orchestral arrangement composed by guitarist Jamie van Dyck and performed by the Moscow Studio Symphony Orchestra (MSSO). Check out the new music video, directed by Patrick Kendall, below.

"Making this video was a fulfilling process because as such a transdisciplinary project, it crossed our paths with talented individuals across the arts," van Dyck explained. "We worked with dancers, choreographers, directors, editors, colorists, professional orchestral musicians, a conductor, an orchestra contractor, a wardrobe/costume person, and of course a rock star vocalist. Involving all these people in our art reaffirmed the value of what we're doing and sets the stage for the collaborative spirit we hope to continue to embody as we reach across the arts into the worlds of film, dance, video games, and other visual arts."

An epic undertaking of cross-continental collaborations, A Dream In Static was recorded in Stockholm, Sweden under the watch of renowned producer and mix engineer, David Castillo (Opeth, Katatonia, Bloodbath), and additional mix and mastering engineer, Jens Bogren (Opeth, Soilwork, The Ocean, Devin Townsend). The instrumental collective recruited several acclaimed guest vocalists, including Lajon Witherspoon (Sevendust), Daniel Tompkins (TesseracT, ex-Skyharbor), Björn Strid (Soilwork) and Eric Zirlinger (Face the King, ex-Seer), to provide their prowess across four of the eight cinematic tracks, as well as the Moscow Studio Symphony Orchestra (MSSO) for live orchestral compositions.

"Earthside is excited and very proud to finally be releasing our debut album A Dream In Static," commented keyboardist Frank Sacramone. "This record has been incubating for several years now between initial writing and demoing all the way through nailing down a release date. Along the way we've worked with so many different artists across disciplines and across continents. Now the fruits of our global project finally get to see the light of day and hopefully move listeners in a similarly meaningful way as the music moved us and our collaborators. We can't wait for you all to hear these songs and to get out on the road and perform them for you guys."

A Dream In Static tracklisting:

“The Closest I've Come”
“Mob Mentality” (Featured Guest Vocalist: Lajon Witherspoon (Sevendust), Featured Ensemble: The Moscow Studio Symphony Orchestra (MSSO))
“A Dream In Static” (Featured Guest Vocalist: Daniel Tompkins (TesseracT, ex-Skyharbor))
“Entering The Light” (Featured Guest Performer: Max ZT -- Hammered Dulcimer, Featured Ensemble: The Moscow Studio Symphony Orchestra (MSSO))
“Skyline”
“Crater” (Featured Guest Vocalist: Björn Strid (Soilwork))
“The Ungrounding”
“Contemplation Of The Beautiful” (Featured Guest Vocalist: Eric Zirlinger (Face the King, ex-Seer))

"The Closest I've Come”:

Teaser video:

Through organic layers of living, breathing orchestra and an eclectic arsenal of world music-influenced instrumentation, Earthside fashions an ever-changing sound that is equally engrossing alongside a work of cinematic art as it is resonating throughout a densely packed concert venue.

A Dream In Static, the group's conceptual mission statement, is a story of purposeful sacrifice and existential yearning told across sweeping instrumental movements, interwoven with adventurous vocal compositions featuring premier voices from across the rock and metal worlds.

SEBASTIAN BACH:

SEBASTIAN BACH: 'I Know I Look Like A Girl'

May The Rock Be With You conducted an interview with former SKID ROW singer Sebastian Bach during his recent Australian tour. You can now watch the chat below. A couple of excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).

On his plans for the rest of 2015:

"I have to finish my book. It's a boring answer, but that's what I have to do. I'm on a deadline. I'm also on a deadline for my next record. So I have to do a book and a record."

On why he changed his mind about making a new studio so soon after 2014's "Give 'Em Hell":

"I have a manager. His name is Rick Sales. And the reason you have a manager is to help you with your career and guide you. And he said, 'Dude, you have to do a new record now. It's a great timing.' I feel like I've done a lot of records; that's the way I feel. But I trust Rick's judgment; he knows what he's doing. And he said, 'You're putting out a book. If you put out a record at the same time as the book, this is good for your career. This is a good plan." So I'm following his advice. To me, it seems crazy to do all of that at once, but I'm lucky — I'm fucking lucky — to be doing this."

On whether he has any songs in the works for his next solo album:

"Well, I don't know if I do. There's two songs that I've heard that I want to sing. One was written by [former GUNS N' ROSES and current SIXX: A.M. guitarist] DJ Ashba. He played it for me back in 2010 when we were on tour with GUNS N' ROSES. He goes, 'Listen to this.' And I'll never forget it. He put it on my head. He wrote it for Axl [Rose, GUNS N' ROSES lead singer], to be [used by] GUNS. It's the most badass fucking riff — one of the coolest songs I've ever heard. I haven't heard it since then, but I never forgot how much I loved it. And he's not in GUNS N' ROSES anymore, so there's one song that I do wanna sing. But I don't even know if I can have that. DJ, I've gotta call you. But that's one song. And then, my guitar player, Devin Bronson, [who played] on 'Give 'Em Hell', sent me one riff that I could definitely sing over. But that's where it stands. There's… You know… I'm just… It seems like so much work. [Laughs] You don't understand how much fucking torture it is. But, anyway, it's great."

On whether he will work with producer Bob Marlette once again:

"I don't know… Bob… Man, he helps me write songs — he really does. He helps me with the hooks. I don't know if I'm gonna work with him again, 'cause I just did two albums back to back with him. Maybe I will; I don't know. I'm really dying to make a record that sounds like the records of the '70s that I always listened to. I don't know if that's possible. You know what? I've gotta give props to JUDAS PRIEST and BLACK SABBATH. The BLACK SABBATH '13' record inspired me, like, to… That sounds like an old album to me — the sound of it: the vocals, the drums, the guitars. And then I got the new JUDAS PRIEST recently, 'Redeemer Of Souls', and there's three tunes on there that fucking destroy my brain, I love them so much. One of them is 'March Of The Damned', [which] is one of the best PRIEST tunes I think I've ever heard. And when I'm listening to that, I'm going, 'Dude, you can do it. Just fucking do it. You can do it.' It's just that… I just put really so much into 'Give 'Em Hell' — I really did. Getting Duff [McKagan], John 5 and Steve Stevens, assembling those players on one record. I go, 'How the fuck am I gonna top that? Who am I gonna get? Eddie Van Halen….? Who am I gonna get?' I think [Eddie Van Halen] is busy."

On his social media presence:

"I look at my social media as a rock magazine. That's the way I look at it. When I was a kid, I would buy Creem and Circus, Kerrang!... a long time ago. That's how we got our information decades ago. So when I look at my web sites, I want it to feel like that, like Circus, 'cause that doesn't exist. So I try to make it look kind of like that and feel like that, and block fucking assholes, which is, you know, boring. I spend a lot of time blocking people. [Laughs] 'You look like a girl?' 'Dude, come up with some new fucking material. You don't think I've fucking heard that? You think that hurts me? That I look like a…? Wow! There is an original putdown. Fuck! You really went all out coming up with that one. 'You look like a girl.' Block! I know I do! Everybody knows it! Fuck! It's been like that forever. It's true. It's, like, I know I look like a girl. I used to get told that in the playground. So you're not telling me anything I don't know."

JIZZY PEARL - "There Is No Pot Of Gold At The End Of The LOVE/HATE Tunnel"

JIZZY PEARL - "There Is No Pot Of Gold At The End Of The LOVE/HATE Tunnel"

Jizzy Pearl is undertaking a five-day tour of The UK in November - playing Black Out In The Red Room from start to finish - in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the release of the debut Love/Hate album.

Leading up to these shows, Jizzy was a recent guest on the Friday NI Rocks Show; a portion of his interview has been transcribed below.

The release of Crucified in late 2013 was impacted at the time by legal issues and it came out as a Jizzy Pearl album rather than a Love/Hate album. What is the current legal situation with the band name Love/Hate?

"There isn’t really any legal situation. I own the name and have owned the name forever and ever. It was - did I want to lawyer up and spend $10,000 to $20,000 to defend something that is really to me a hobby and for fun. Going to The UK is basically a paid vacation. There is no pot of gold at the end of the Love/Hate tunnel. We didn’t sell multi-millions of records. The fact that I’m able to go over there once a year and still play; that’s enough for me."

Ex-GUNS N

Ex-GUNS N' ROSES Drummer STEVEN ADLER: SLASH And DUFF MCKAGAN Don't Believe I Am 21 Months Sober

Ex-GUNS N' ROSES drummer Steven Adler says that he has not been approached by any of his former bandmates about a possible reunion of the classic GN'R lineup and blames the lack of communication in part on the fact that Slash and Duff McKagan don't believe that he is sober.

Slash recently revealed that he and GUNS N' ROSES' lead singer, Axl Rose, had repaired their estranged relationship after nearly 20 years, immediately leading to a storm of speculation about a possible reunion of the classic GUNS lineup.

Asked point blank if he knows anything about a rumored reunion of GUNS N' ROSES' "Appetite For Destruction" lineup, Adler told Eddie Trunk during a September 28 appearance on Trunk's SiriusXM satellite radio show, "Eddie Trunk Live": "Nothing. Even if it was happening, I don't think Slash would tell me, because he knows how excited I get and that I would probably say something before I should. I would be the last one to know."

Adler, who was famously fired from GUNS N' ROSES in 1990 for his rampant drug use, added that part of the reason he hasn't heard anything about a rumored GUNS reunion is the fact that he hasn't been able to convince his former bandmates that he is clean from alcohol and drugs.

"I love those guys, and I always will, but Duff, he doesn't think I'm cool," Adler said. "He doesn't think I'm a cool guy. This is what people tell me. And he doesn't think I'm cool and that I'm not that great of a drummer. And Slash, he doesn't believe that I have 21 months and 21 days sober. He doesn't believe it. I don't know why, but they forget that at one time in their life, they were doing drugs and drinking and they were fucking up. They forget that they were like that too. Duff has got 20 years sober or more, Slash has got, like, 11 or 12 years sober, and I've got a year, nine months and 21 days. So everybody gets it at a different time. I'm just thankful I got it."

He went on to say: "They don't think I'm cool and they don't think I can play drums that great and they don't think I'm sober. Duff, he has a right, in a way, but, like I said, he forgets where he came from too. But we did do some shows [together] in Japan [in 2013], and Duff invited [Steven's current band] ADLER to come down, and I was still drinking then. And the second I got to the airport, I made a beeline for the bar, and I just started doing shots of Jäger. And the whole trip I was sick and I was just a mess. And, you know, Duff's sober and he's very judgmental and forgetful of where he came from. And he was just so bummed and pissed at me. I mean, the playing part, the shows when we actually were performing, that went all right, but everything else… So I kind of ruined it and gave him the excuse to be able to say, 'Well, he's not cool and he's not that good.' But I stopped doing that. They stopped doing that. Just because they stopped doing it before I did doesn't make them any better. We're all people who have addiction problems. I was just able to get a grip on it later on in life than they did."

Asked what the turning point was for him to get his life together and stop going into detoxes and rehabs, Adler said: "I learned from going to meetings with the right people and talking to the right people at AA meetings and stuff, and I got a great sponsor, and we worked it out. My problem was I had resentment towards those guys [GUNS N' ROSES bandmates], and towards other things, and I had abandonment issues. So once I was able to forgive those guys and realize it wasn't them to blame, but me to blame — I did what I did to me; they didn't do what they did to me; I did it to myself — and once I started hating them, I was able to… and have some time, 'cause it takes time for the brain to heal after drinking so much. Alcohol fucks your brain up and it takes a good nine, ten, eleven [months or] a year until you actually start thinking clear again. Now I'm just able to live my life and be happy with who I am."

According to Adler, he is still in contact with Slash, but he hasn't been able to convince the guitarist to meet with him in person for quite some time. "I'm always trying to get [Slash] to go to Crossroads, this vegan restaurant," Adler said. "I [tell him], 'Get your girlfriend and come meet me and my wife over… And John 5 [ROB ZOMBIE]. I say, meet me and John 5 and Rita over at Crossroads for brunch or dinner.' [And he writes back] 'Ehh, I can't. I'm working.' I'm going, 'You've gotta be home way more than that. Just come meet with me. Let's go have a cup of coffee.'

Asked if it's true that he recently said that he would kill himself if the classic GUNS N' ROSES lineup reunited without him, Adler said: "I would probably feel like I would wanna kill myself, but I wouldn't. I would probably just kill them. [Laughs] 'Cause if I'm not doing it, they're not doing it. If I'm going down, they're going down."

Adler also expressed frustration over the fact that so many world-famous musicians, including GUNS N' ROSES, can't seem to overcome personal differences and reunite for the sake of their fans.

"I don't understand what the problem is," he said. "We're just rock bands. We all started practicing in our garage or our bedroom. We met each other, and we started playing in our garage, then we worked on songs. This is what we wanted to do. Our dreams came true.

"I don't know why it's so difficult for people that have been successful and still can moderately successful," he continued. "Of course, nobody's gonna be like they were in the '80s; that was our generation. It's a new generation now of music and people and kids. But there are bands like BON JOVI and METALLICA and the GUNS N' ROSES reunion; [if that were to happen] that would be huge."

Adler added: "I don't get it. We just play music. We're living our dream. Why does everybody have to be such a dick and so fucking crazy? It's, like, hey, we play music. When we're together, we play it really great. Let's just do it. What's the problem?"

Despite the fact that he hasn't heard anything about a possible reunion of the classic GUNS lineup, Adler remains optimistic about his future. "Even if the GN'R thing doesn't happen, I'm still gonna do what I'm doing every day," he said. "I'm gonna keep living, being happy, practicing, playing with my band. I wasted enough time in a blackout, in a haze. I'm living now."

LOUDNESS To Release 30th-Anniversary Edition Of

LOUDNESS To Release 30th-Anniversary Edition Of 'Thunder In The East' Album

According to Roppongi Rocks, Japanese metallers LOUDNESS will release a special 30th-anniversary edition of their classic "Thunder In The East" album in Japan on November 25 in several different versions featuring bonus DVDs with live footage from their 1985 U.S. tour and other things.

"It never gets old that album," LOUDNESS vocalist Minoru Niihara said. "We were listening to the demo tapes yesterday, because we are going to release a special edition of the 'Thunder' album. We will include some of the demo tapes on it and we have to choose which songs to include. When we listened to the demo tapes, we were shocked: 'This is good!' Even before recording and getting [producer] Max Norman involved, it sounds really good."

Regarding the songwriting process for "Thunder In The East", Niihara said: "We made a demo tape with 15 or 20 songs. We recorded those songs in Japan and brought the tape to Max Norman. He picked some songs from that demo tape and then he said that, 'This is not quite enough. You guys have to write another five or ten songs for me.' Eventually, we recorded twelve songs and Max Norman changed a little bit, this and that. The lyrics — that was a nightmare! I got five or six lyricists and singers to help me rewrite lyrics in English from Japanese."

LOUDNESS released its latest studio album, "The Sun Will Rise Again", in June 2014.

SLAYER

SLAYER's KERRY KING Talks NFL Rule Changes

In a recent interview with Louder Noise, SLAYER guitarist Kerry King spoke about the recent series of changes the NFL has adopted in recent years as part of a broader effort to make the game safer.

"[That's a] tough subject to me, 'cause the NFL is my sport," Kerry said. "I try to go to a couple of Raider home games every year. If not, another one somewhere else. In the long run, it is for their benefit, because they're getting faster and stronger. Do I wish it was like that? No, man. I like the '70s era, when the Raiders were just thugs. Those guys weren't the speed or the muscle that they are these days. I mean, they were big, sure, and they got hit. That's what football means to me. Now it's evolved into what football is."

Back in 2010, King lamented the fact that there is still no football team in Los Angeles — the number two media market in the country. "L.A. is a fickle market," King told Noisecreep. "But I would go to games if they were here. I went when they were here."

SLAYER's new album, "Repentless", was released on September 11.

SAMMY HAGAR Confirms Plans For New CHICKENFOOT Music

SAMMY HAGAR Confirms Plans For New CHICKENFOOT Music

Sammy Hagar has confirmed to Ultimate Classic Rock that he has recorded one new song with his CHICKENFOOT bandmates, "Before I Die", and has vowed to continue making music with the supergroup, which also includes guitarist Joe Satriani, bassist Michael Anthony (ex-VAN HALEN) and drummer Chad Smith (RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS).

"What we decided to do [with CHICKENFOOT] is casually write a record the way we're doing now. Like, Joe and I get together and get the song and then Chad put drums on one song already and Mikey put bass on it and we did the vocals. We've got one fucking finished song that, to me, is the coolest song that we've maybe ever had. It's really bluesy and edgy and modern and it's fucking cool."

Hagar also once again clarified comments he made to Rolling Stone magazine where he was quoted as saying that he thinks CHICKENFOOT is finished making albums.

"To go in the studio and spend a half a million dollars to make a great record that's going to sell forty or fifty thousand…. maybe a hundred thousand records, [you] basically pay to play and you're going to lose money on that," he said. "And then you go out and tour with a band that could sell two or three thousand tickets in any city in the world, but, you know, flying around in a private jet and staying in Four Seasons hotels and all of that and with these four guys, we're all rich, so it's like, we don't need the money, but at the same time, to go out and do 60 or 70 shows and come back and make as much as I make in one night after a year of that, is pretty hard."

He continued: "I don't do things for money, but it's pretty difficult to put everything else aside. Because I'm saying, 'Okay, if I'm putting a year of my life aside, I'm not going to make any money, number one. Which I don't need money, it's okay, I can get away with that. But the energy that it takes to do all of that and my fans sit there and hound me, as much as they love CHICKENFOOT, they hound me to go out and do [the songs from my history]. 'We want to hear this song, we want to hear that song,' and I'm going, 'Fuck, now I've gotta go back out and work again, I'm fuckin' beat,' you know?"

Hagar's new band THE CIRCLE, which also features Michael Anthony, Jason Bonham and Vic Johnson, plays hits from Sammy's four decades of rock (MONTROSE, solo, VAN HALEN, THE WABORITAS, CHICKENFOOT) as well as classic tracks from the LED ZEPPELIN catalog.

CHICKENFOOT reissued its gold-selling 2009 self-titled debut as a double-disc set. The new version features bonus live tracks recorded on the group's tour behind its sophomore studio effort, "III"

CHICKENFOOT's most recent touring lineup included legendary drummer/musician Kenny Aronoff, who was filling in for Smith while Chad was on the road with RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS.

"III" sold 42,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 9 on The Billboard 200 chart. The band's self-titled debut opened with 49,000 units back in June 2009 to debut at No. 6.

SHUMAUN Streaming New Track “Miracles Of Yesterday”; Audio

SHUMAUN Streaming New Track “Miracles Of Yesterday”; Audio

Shumaun initially started as a solo project by Farhad Hossain (ex-vocalist/guitarist/keyboardist of the Sensory Records progressive metal outfit Iris Divine). After recording a few demos, he decided to recruit a few friends to help build the project into a full-fledged collaborative band. This is what led to the debut record that will be released on November 13th. The album is available for pre-order here. The new song “Miracles Of Yesterday”, featuring Travis Orbin (Darkest Hour, Periphery) on drums, below.

Through the course of recording their debut album, Shumaun went through a period of tribulation while securing a drummer. Original drummer Tanvir Tomal (ex-Iris Divine) had to leave for professional obligations in the middle of the recording sessions and was later replaced with Waqar Khan (Entity Paradigm), who is also well known for his work with the platinum-selling Ali Azmat of the EMI recording artist Junoon (one of South Asia's most successful rock bands). Waqar remained with the band long enough to record a few tracks on the debut record as well as appear live for some of the earlier shows. He later had to leave due to professional obligations that required relocation. Drumming legends Travis Orbin (Darkest Hour, Periphery) and Mark Zonder (Fates Warning, Warlord) recorded the remaining drums on the record.

The Shumaun sound is shaped by the soaring vocals and lead guitar work of Farhad Hossain, the pounding melodic bass lines of Jose Mora, the subtle guitar nuances of Tyler Kim, and the technical and groove-oriented drumming of Tanvir Tomal, who has recently returned to the group as they are currently rehearsing to get back into the live circuit to support the new record which was tracked at Zinkferd Studio, mixed by Brett Caldas-Lima (Cynic, Devin Townsend Project, Pain Of Salvation) at Tower Studio, and mastered by Brian J. Anthony.

Shumaun tracklisting:

“A New Revolution”
“Miracles Of Yesterday”
“You And I Will Change The World”
“Keep It Together”
“We Always Disappear”
“When It's Our Turn”
“The Drop”
“Ambrosia”
“Floods”
“Sunrise At Midnight”
“The Dream Of The Sleeper”
“Numbers”
